I really hate to say this but probably my Single Dads AU. She's so beefy and the size of it has scared the hell out of me. As much as I love it, I don't think it gets as much traction as other wips and the beans just haven't been there.

What are your writing strengths?

I honestly don't know, I think I can write smut pretty well? And I'm not bad at cute stuff. The honest truth is I am extremely insecure about my writing abilities and think I'm average at best.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I struggle with dialogue as I often feel like I'm being too OOC. Also descriptions. I spend the most time sitting there thinking of how tf to describe something.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I can google translate pet names and that's where I draw the line. I don't want people to say that I'm saying stuff wrong.

Play me like a fiddle is my labour of love and the fact that it flopped the way it did made me so sad. If you could have continued Eclipse's story in the archie comics (and staying within the parameters already set in his first two arcs) what would you have done with him next?

Ooh, this is an interesting one, since the redemption arc I gave him in my own little universe goes A BIT off from those parameters (and by a bit I mean he teams up with Mephiles and Infinite of all characters in the beginning, so...not a bit lmao) But if I were to stay within said parameters and make it as "post-reboot archie" as possible? (Apologies for what will probably be a horrible summary bc I've thought more about my current version than this one, this might flop but idc lol)

KINDA LONG POST WARNING!

I think I'd have him stumble into Sonic somehow, since it was heavily implied that he was going to meet Sonic anyways. Of course they'd probably fight at least once in the beginning, because I'd think by then Eclipse is more paranoid and basically on survival mode again. Sonic has no idea WHY this guy just started fighting, but after a good while of it, he's just trying to explain that he only wants to help and isn't going to hurt him, or the wisp thingies it looks like he's trying to protect. Eclipse pauses for a moment, but doesn't let his guard down too much. After a little silence he sourly corrects the blue hedgehog, telling him they're not "wisp thingies," they're Dark Arms. While still suspicious of Sonic, the Dark Arms start "talking" to him (those noises they make,) telling him Sonic doesn't seem to be a bad person. They have a weird ability to sense those kind of people. He may not trust this "Sonic," as he calls himself, but Eclipse DOES trust the Dark Arms. Sonic extends his hand forward to show Eclipse that he wants to help him. Eclipse doesn't grab it, he just sighs and reluctantly agrees. After all, he doesn't SEEM to be like Shadow...Sonic seems to be the exact opposite, actually. Maybe that's a good thing? (Then Sonic asks him his name and all that stuff, but of course he doesn't reply instantly.)

So Sonic would probably take Eclipse to introduce to Tails' first, to which Eclipse is also naturally pretty paranoid about, though he won't voice that openly. Sonic assures Eclipse Tails is a good person too, though. "He's my little buddy and bro! Smartest kid you'll ever meet." (Yes I do see Sonic and Tails as reverse Shadow and Eclipse what of it-)

Tails immediately takes great interest in Eclipse and the Dark Arms. He's amazed by them, what are they? Where did they come from? How come the little creatures look so much like wisp? But different too? And Eclipse doesn't look like any mobian he's ever seen either-

Sonic has to take a second to tell Tails to maybe calm down on the questions after noticing Eclipse looking a bit uncomfortable with the amount of them he was receiving. Tails sheepishly apologizes, instead offering to show Eclipse around his little lab (or wherever it is he is right now, that's a small detail I've forgotten about archie.) They can't do much though before they hear someone outside, someone yelling Sonic's name, saying something about "knowing they have him in there," and how they can't hide him in there forever. Eclipse of course immediately recognizes who it is, due to a certain connection, and starts to panic, looking around for any possible way he and the Dark Arms can escape.

Tails takes notice, alerts Sonic, and they try to figure out what's going on. But before they can, the front door is forced open. Shadow's there, and he looks even worse than usual (as noted by Sonic.)

"So? Is he in there or not?" Eclipse hears another familiar voice, that of one of "Shadow's minions" (I love when he calls them that lmao. Also Omega is here too, I just can't find any clear way to explain that rn.) He knows he should probably just leave with the Dark Arms now, but he can't. He can't move. Why can't he move? Why is he AFRAID of them? He even fought them before and WON.

But that was before. Things were different now and everything was painful and scary.

(I'm so going to regret typing out more dialogue but here I am doing it anyway)

"Yeah, he's there, and these two are protecting him."

"Protecting him? We don't even know what's going on here!" Sonic turns back to Eclipse. "You know Shadow?"

"He's part of the Black Arms. The last one left. And I need to be the one to make sure he can't be around cause the same harm to the planet they did."

"Wait, the Black Arms?" Tails chimes in. "But...I thought you had already destroyed them all, Shadow? We all saw you destroy the Black Comet that day!"

"He did." Eclipse glares at Shadow, and he shoots one back.

"Then how could there be any more?"

Then Shadow goes on to explain the events of Shadow Fall, and to add to it, the events of Total Eclipse to explain more about the things Eclipse has already done to nearly put the planet in jeopardy. (I could imagine Omega is outside boosting all this, he wants vengeance on the small alien who maimed him. But could still defeat. His words.) This of course gets Eclipse pretty angry. He was only trying to restart the species SHADOW destroyed! The one he himself was a part of too! It was absolute betrayal, and yet he still had the audacity to pin it all on his own brother?

So yeah they end up fighting outside until Sonic and Tails manage to break it up. They need to work this out. Shadow and Eclipse are absolutely appalled. They both think the other is in the wrong, why on earth would they ever "work this out?"

I'm going to start summarizing even more now for the rest bc this is getting to be a bit long (Ik it takes place over a long series of events but yeah.) Basically Sonic and Tails want to put Shadow and Eclipse through some Steven Universe ass bonding to get them through their differences, while also being sensitive to what happened to both of them. (I think after a while even Rouge would start to see this would be good for the both of them, even IF Eclipse broke her shoulder. She'd still be kind of bitter about that btw and probably mention it even once. And Omega is naturally Omega.)

Also Shadow and Eclipse go through a bunch of stuff together. And they start bonding? And maybe Shadow was being kind of harsh on him? Maybe he shouldn't be so hard on this kid JUST because he's a Black Arms. Shadow wasn't raised like Eclipse was...maybe that has something to do with his reluctance towards them? They're actually pretty similar to each other in other ways, it seems. Hey, Shadow's actually a pretty decent person once you get to know him. And it turns out Eclipse isn't such a monster after all? He's not like Black Doom at all...that's what Shadow always saw the Black Arms as in general anyways. But Eclipse has a heart. He's pretty annoying, but in a weirdly endearing way? Holy shit, maybe this could ACTUALLY work. Maybe they could be brothers. For real this time.

Not sure what much else I could write, but there's something. I just had to make it a redemption arc for the bros didn't I.

yes to revali's aviator glasses but link makes fun of him for wearing them inside and revali's is like IT'S FOR THE AESTHETIC!!!!!!!! link wears bucket hats because i said so. idc argue with the wall for this one he would look so cute in a bucket hat and revali thinks so too. he has so many pictures of link in a bucket hat on his phone. they both have platform doc martens, link has the boots and revali also has boots but also the oxfords.

revali has a bomber jacket from his grandfather who was a pilot. link likes to steal it sometimes because it's oversized and smells like revali <3

link learned how to crochet for funsies and made revali a bright blue scarf as a gift, and revali was so touched he centered every single outfit he wore for the next two weeks around the scarf (dw he washed it, he's a clean freak). like revali cherishes it so much he has it displayed in their house 😭

last one for now and i'm gonna project even more onto link, but he luvs jewelry. he looks especially good in gold, but he rocks any piece he wears. he has so much jewelry, revali built him a whole vanity with multiple drawers and storage space for all of the jewelry. revali randomly gets him jewelry as gifts every now and then, and he always gets it custom-crafted by a jeweler who's a friend of urbosa. link almost always wears the first necklace that revali ever gifted him for his birthday and it's beautiful sapphire wrapped in gold. also link wears a body chain under his crop tops sometimes and revali is obsessed with it he cannot keep his hands off of link's waist or his eyes away from the way the chain glints against link's tummy :)

What program/brushes do you use? CSP ex, and the brushes I use kinda flip flop every month. Some of the ones I use are borupenP, dg-pen, sarapen (jp), soipen, splatter ink pen 2.1, zakapen (jp), mirres crosshatching pens, hibipens, penpen (jp), senpen_v2 (jp). You're better off just asking me about a pen from a specific piece tbh, I can give the download brush ID if you can't find it from name

Can we use your breed redesigns on our dragons? Sure! Just @ me for credit somewhere (and also because I love to see) on the first time/their bio. You don't need to ping me consecutive times though haha.

Why didn't you answer my ask? If it's from an ask game, or asking about a dragon of mine, I just have memory issues and probably forgot! It's nothing against you. If it was a nice ask, I like to save those to look at :)

Can you draw my dragon? Do you have commissions open? I don't do requests, sorry! Commissions are finicky, but whever I open then I'll announce them here.

Why is your fr dark?? I use a stylus extension called simple dark theme for flight rising + simple dark tweaks. And yes dark mode extensions are allowed. Get it on stylus and not stylish btw.

Will you redesign [insert recent breed]? Probably! I usually let the cook for a bit before making a post about it. I prefer doing redesign batches but that'd mean waiting 3 years so lol.

hes probably the nicest man ive ever been w and idk what to think cuz i am so suspicious of people these days i dont really trust anyone lol. ik that takes time and i feel fine around him but i have a lingering fear that its just a front and hell get progressively meaner or less considerate of me i wish i never had that one month flop "relationship" literally all that man did was put a lot of miles on my car and not reimburse me for gas $ and make me even more distrustful towards men and i thought hed be different cuz he was bi im so silly😭😭😭😭and its not like i think current guy is necessarily plotting or something even tho sometimes i have that crazy extreme thought but im scared of it just happening even if he doesnt do it intentionally like getting careless with me ig cuz like after being in the worst possible situation for a relationship where i was physically threatened and overpowered all i want is gentle love and i dont want carelessness either like my standard cant just be They dont abuse me like my ex partner did like no i want the ideal person no more bare minimum shit idk i want to be taken care of and paid attention to and i want to pay attention to someone too and give love bc i have so much. my worst fear of course is someone abusing me again but i wont put up w it anymore and i feel kind of just apathetic sometimes when I think of pain even though i am simultaneously terrified of stuff not working out or having expectations or hopes bc im like well ive literally been physically harmed by someone who was supposed to be my life partner so really i can make it through anything lol idc. but i am still scared and have normal relationship fears. but really whats meant to happen will and whatever factors are at play like its gonna be ok idk.. even if it doesnt work out ultimately. and its so early. but its why im hesitant to jump into a relationship w him or commit super fast bc i dont want to put my time and commitment into someone too quickly like i did last time and then them end up taking me for granted and wasting my time and doing more harm in my life than good lolol

saw the fnaf movie yesterday. here's my thoughts

spoilers below

love it. love everything about it. mike might've just become my kin cuz he is definitely me when i get older. abby is an absolute sweet bby gorl. those two have one of the best sibling dynamics. vanessa was okay. full on expected her to go vanny and was kinda disappointed. oh well. i kinda hated the plotwist that the counselor was afton but imma let it slide cuz it didn't ruin the whole movie

now, onto the animatronics

HOLY FUCK

I WANNA HUG THEM SO BAD

they were just little prescious babies (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)

and yes, i know they killed that group but it was justified. i mean, those dumbasses basically broke into their house and started tearing shit up. i probably would've done the same thing (for legal reasons, this is a joke)

and i love the ghost children scenes and their little motifs that represent which animatronic they are

the matpat and cory cameos.......WHOOOOOOO

LET'S FUCKIN GOOOOOOO

i was flopping around in my seat when i saw matpat. so proud of him. and i'm proud of cory too, even though i never watched him

that balloon boy figurine jumpscare got me the first time. didn't do anything the second time. and then made me laugh the third time (poor cory)

and holy fuck, they used tlt's fnaf song for the credits. everything has came full circle

idc if the movie is good or not. this movie was for the fans and for the fans alone. this was just a massive thank you from scott cawthon to the fanbase. and y'know what?

thank you, scott. thank you for making a game that resonated with so many people. thank you for making a game that inspired so many people to make their own fangames with their own spin on things. thank you for making a game that allowed people to get creative with their interpretations and theories (we stan matpat in this household)

When I started shipping them: after watching season 3 I came to AO3 in search of more Brakenight and was shocked to discover MelRuth was a thing. So I rewatched from s1 again. Excuse to wear your furs caught my eye but See You Around caught my soul and it has been a slow descent into madness ever since. So... April maybe? Feels like a lifetime haha

My thoughts: No thoughts only MelRuth! Ha. I really flip flop on the nature of them. I absolutely adore the idea of Ruth pining after Melanie the whole time, maybe they've had flings but nothing serious, they're friends until Ruth learns the truth and her heart breaks. But I also concurrently headcanon that they did have a relationship, some time between the bees and the start of S1. They broke up but obviously there's still feelings there. And after seven years on the train they've learned how to work together even despite those feelings. The See You Around scene is everything tbh. Melanie realising love is important after all, but Ruth is just too hurt. So hurt in fact that she had been willing to let her die at one point! But she does try to delay it, asking for a trial, and I believe she had a hand in Melanie's escape with Javi and Jinju. By the time Melanie goes to Breslauer, Ruth is having a big internal conflict because she's still SO angry but also Melanie might go away forever. When she agrees to look after Alex, she's cursing herself for not being able to forgive sooner. Saying yes is saying I love you. And the longer she is away, the more Ruth realises she still loves and needs her, after all she always has "melanie on her mind" and she can "feel her out there". But then Melanie is gone, and probably dead, and the train and its people need her. And she needs someone to make her happy (enter Mr Pike). Melanie coming back is a massive emotional shock, and the two struggle to reconcile. But the love and care is still there ("I'm not going to let you go alone am I"). Until Melanie suggests working with Wilford. And after everything... Ruth can't deal with that. At the end of the war, she wants to stay, oh god she wants to stay. But she promised to look after Alex, once, and she intends to fulfil that promise. I love you too much to stay... Okay this descended into headcanon a bit but I am feral for them and the tiny glances between them and idc what you say Melruth is real if I believe hard enough 😂

What makes me happy about them: THE PINING, the little touches, the glances, the Wilford Pin, the fact I would let either of them freeze off all my limbs.

What makes me sad about them: Ben. They never said a proper goodbye (or welcome back from the dead). THE PINING. The fact season 4 is going to kill me.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: when Ruth is in the engine/bunk room before the Milford reveal with no explanation! Caveat that I am currently writing a few things like this because it was easier and yes I'm annoyed at myself for it!

Things I look for in fanfic: at this point just them being in the same room together. Just any and all content of them together and being vaguely nice to each other. But above all I'm here for the E rated fics 👀

My wishlist: I don't know if this is for fic or for canon. For canon I just want them to acknowledge that there was something there once even if there's not now. And a good hug would be nice🥺. For fic I NEED a 100k word romance, yesterday. But I'll also take anything elaborating on their history together, small fluffy fics, smut (always), all the angst. I need an AU where Mel went to the B&B, an AU where Ben doesn't exist... All of it please.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: after a significant amount of reflection I would have to say Mel with Ben 😭. The set up is there and she does love him and they can be sweet together. Ruth is easier though. Ruth/Boki! I've said before I just want her to learn to love herself, but if she had to end up with someone I'm committed to Ruboki now. Or The Notary as an acceptable alternative. As long as whoever it is makes her happy. Happy Ruth is EVERYTHING.

My happily ever after for them: this post sums it up. Or you know, in twenty years time they are old and grey in a cabin in the newly terraformed warm spot and Melanie is digging in the garden and Ruth comes and puts her arms around her because she's about to go to a council meeting where Alex is the president of the new world, or something.

Season 5 rewatch thoughts:

(idk if anyone actually reads these but idc I like writing them lmao)

overall thoughts: this was a shorter season (only 20 episodes) but it didn’t feel like it for some reason and I can’t decide if that’s good or bad lol. the distance between “Redux” and “The End” feels enormous though, and I think it’s bc you can really divide this season into three distinct sections: the cancer arc climax of Redux/Redux II, post-cancer arc (Detour, The Post-Modern Prometheus), and post Christmas Carol/Emily arc, that all have a very different tone from each other. obviously the main overarching theme this season is mulder and scully’s role reversals of believer vs. skeptic, but this season also deals a lot with trust in a way that I found similar to earlier episodes (particularly “wetwired” in regards to “the pine bluff variant”) but where the themes manifest in a different way bc the M/S relationship has changed so much even just from the beginning of the season

msr: redux/redux II is earth-shattering for so many reasons but imo this is the point where i think it’s solidified for both of them that they are IT for each other like there is no possible way they can imagine a future without the other in it. (now I don’t think they think the other feels the same way as they do lol but it’s a confirmation of their own feelings at least) but, coming to this realization is deeply painful especially considering the emily arc, scully’s chip, mulder’s disbelief, and just the weight of their work and the x files in general- made all the worse bc it is impossible for them to separate their work from their love for each other. the ouroboros of it all!! “folie a deux” is the culmination of the horror show of their current relationship, and diana in the following episode further takes an axe to it, particularly for scully. I also don’t think it’s completely fair to say that mulder alone stopped anything from happening in “detour” bc scully also did the same thing in “emily” when she refused mulder’s comfort (understandably, she was probably still pissed at him, but as she told the social worker, she was also keeping him at arms length for her own protection). who knows if things would have been different if that hadn’t had happened, but I think her rejection of him makes their distance from each other in the rest of the season bc of their changing beliefs feel even more isolating. I thought s4 was bad for angst, but whew! also, no hugs this season, and almost no physical affection after the cancer arc except for small moments in “the red and the black”, “all souls”, “folie a deux”, and “the end”.

writing: vince gilligan is a god!!! though he (and tim minear) had a tiny flop with “kitsunegari”. I also love his attention to continuity by having mulder wear a bandage on his finger in “folie a deux”, it makes it even darker when you consider mulder was ~this close~ to dying probably not even a week apart...no wonder he’s so grumpy lmao. I also was very impressed with john shiban in “the pine bluff variant” considering I normally can’t stand his solo writing episodes (like “teso dos bichos” is thee worst episode of the series i’m sorry)

directing: I miss rob bowman :(( but “kill switch” and “the pine bluff variant” were absolute VIBES and I can’t wait for FTF. the non manners/bowman direction was mostly fine, but the only other directors that stuck out to me were chris carter for “the post modern prometheus” and “the red and the black” (where he was imitating bowman i think) and r.w. goodwin for “the end”. also lots of close up shots of mulder’s eyes this season! big fan!

hair: great hair from both of them, and the most consistent (probably bc of FTF) early s4 scully hair and s1/s3 mulder hair is still my favorite tho lol

favorite episodes: Redux II, Detour, Christmas Carol/Emily, Kill Switch, Bad Blood, The Pine Bluff Variant, Folie a Deux, The End

70% worth rewatching imo (surprising bc there were a lot of episodes I LOVED but there was a lot of filler too, probably bc of FTF filming)

Redux- good, but very exposition heavy

Redux II- literally being shot in the chest would be less painful. Amazing.

Unusual Suspects- Lone Gunman origin story. No Scully :(

Detour- thee quintessential x files episode. iconique.

The Post Modern Prometheus- great gowns, beautiful gowns. Bad story.
