Become A Bridgerton - Yandere!Colin Bridgerton x reader
requested by: @ilovechickenwings & anon
summary: Colin does something horrible to you on your eighteenth birthday which forces you to marry him.
warnings: rape, noncon, somnophilia, manipulation, drugging, baby trapping, forced marriage, breeding
author's note: this is really dark so please take care of yourself before and after reading <3
Tumblr media
As you entered the Bridgerton home, you were struck with awe. Even better, today marked a special occasion. Today, you were celebrating your eighteenth birthday with your best friends, Eloise and Penelope. Your parents had allowed you to have a small sleepover to celebrate your age, and of course Viscountess Bridgerton and the elder brothers would be watching over you three.
You walked in through the foyer to the parlor, where most of the family was gathered.
"Oh, (y/n), welcome and happy birthday," the Viscountess said, embracing you in a warm hug.
"Officially marrying age, how exciting?" Benedict teased as he turned away from his easel and looked at you.
"Leave her alone, Ben!" Eloise groaned. Her and Pen stood up from the settee and hugged you as well.
"Do you ladies have any special plans for tonight?" Viscountess Bridgerton asked the three of you.
"I thought we could roam around the gardens and read a bit. Perhaps play pickleball or another yard game," Eloise said.
Behind you, Anthony and Colin entered the parlor. Hyacinth all but jumped into Anthony's arms, and Colin walked right over to you.
"Happy birthday, (y/n), and congratulations," he added, smiling at you and making intense eye-contact. You hadn't seen him since before he had left on his travels, and you had to admit he was now very handsome.
"Congratulations? What for?" you inquired teasingly.
"You are now marrying age, correct? Your mother told mine that you would be entering society next season."
"Oh, well yes, I suppose. I don't feel ready yet at all," you confessed, twisting a lock of your hair.
"If we want to walk in the gardens, we must leave soon," Eloise urged impatiently.
"Oh, right, sorry. I'll see you later, Colin," you added before being pulled away by your best friend.
Even long after, you were left daydreaming about how tight Colin's shirt looked, allowing you to see the outline of his strong chest. You liked the light facial hair he had grown and the new styling of his hair, which suited him much more. You thought about him even while Pen and Eloise were debating about Lady Whistledown, and all throughout your garden walk. What was this feeling blossoming in your chest?
---
"I'm not ready to be a wife, I feel like I have so much more fun left in my life!" you groaned, stretched out on one of the parlor settees. The Viscountess had allowed you three some time to socialize in the parlor alone after dinner, so you all took the opportunity to get comfortable and talk.
"Being a wife can be fun sometimes," Pen volunteered.
"And how would you know?" Eloise snapped, setting her book aside.
"El!" you scolded.
"There's the marital act, which none of our mothers have explained to us, but it is supposed to feel good. And if you have a nice husband, he might let you enjoy it, too," Pen shrugged. She began to take some of the pins out of her hair, causing red locks to fall around her shoulders.
"The marital act," you shuddered, "those words alone scare me enough."
"Colin, Benedict and Anthony know but they won't tell me. And of course Daphne won't, either. But I assume it has something to do with the process of carrying children," Eloise said.
All of a sudden you heard a loud knock on the closed door. The three of you gasped.
"Bedtime, ladies," Anthony commanded in a stern voice.
"Fine, brother!" Eloise shouted back, rolling her eyes and standing up from the settee she had been laying on.
---
The Bridgerton house had a quite a few guest rooms. It was one of the reasons you enjoyed staying there, as your home was definitely not as fancy. You made your way to a small guest room the maids had made up for you at the order of the Viscountess.
Taking a deep breath, you shut the door behind you and turned on the oil lamp. You changed into your nightgown and began undoing your hair, twisting the pins and decorative ribbons out of the style. Your mother had done your hair in a special style for your birthday.
A slight knock sounded at your door. Who could it be? Perhaps Penelope needed more sanitary napkins.
"H-hello?" you asked, opening the door slightly. Colin.
"Good evening, (y/n). I was wondering if we could talk? I brought some tea for you."
"This isn't a good time, I'm getting ready for bed," you whispered.
"Just a few minutes?"
"Alright," you agreed. Colin closed the door behind him and sat down on the bed. You sat down next to him, taking the tea saucer from his hands and sipping tentatively.
"You never told me, how was Greece?" you asked, looking up at the man beside you. Although he was only twenty-three, he felt like a grown adult compared to you. Even at eighteen, you still felt like a little girl.
"It was beautiful, (y/n). Maybe I'll bring you there someday. Would you like that?" he asked, eyes trained on you as you took another sip of the tea.
You nodded, wanting to speak but finding yourself unable to. You tried to set down the tea saucer but Colin took your hand and raised it up to your mouth again.
"W-what are you--" you stuttered before he made you take another sip.
"Shh, it's okay my love. Just drift off to sleep," Colin urged. After you finished the tea, he helped you lay comfortably on the bed.
You fought to keep your eyes open, but the last thing you saw was Colin staring at you with a sickly smile.
---
You awoke to the sound of birds chirping and the sun streaming through the guest room's shades. As you rubbed the sleep from your eyes, you realize there was a sharp pain in your lower region. It was not yet time for your monthly cycle, but perhaps you were early?
The shooting pain was still there as you hobbled to the washroom, hoping a quick urination might relieve the pain.
You looked into the bowl after you were finished, a small bit of blood there. You must be starting early, there was no other explanation. Maybe Colin knew something, as he was there with you before you fell asleep. You went to sleep a lot quicker than you'd been meaning to, but perhaps it was because you had a long day.
---
About six weeks later, you still had not gotten your monthly cycle since before you'd stayed at the Bridgerton's, aside from the small bit of blood from the toilet. You felt fragile and constantly sick. You looked bigger and your breasts felt heavier. You'd never felt anything like this, and you were scared. Did you have the plague? How could you have even gotten it?
After a few weeks of worrying, your parents were able to get a doctor out to your house to check on you.
The doctor, a stern old man, examined you, asked questions and inspected you thoroughly. When he was finished, he took your parents aside.
"You stupid, stupid girl!" your mother yelled from across the room. You looked at her, confused and surprised.
"What are you talking about?" you asked innocently.
"Who did you have sexual relations with?"
"I-I don't know what you're talking about!"
"The marriage act, who did you do it with? Oh my, we must find the boy and ask him to do the honorable thing and marry her. Or else she'll be a soiled spinster!" your father shouted.
"I didn't do the marriage act, I promise! I don't even know what it is, I've never even kissed a boy!"
"If you will not be honest, we must take this into our own hands as soon as possible. You are pregnant, stupid girl," your mother spoke. She yelled back and forth at you with your father, but your brain couldn't comprehend it anymore.
You were confused, having been sick for almost six weeks straight. Six weeks ago was your birthday, when you had fallen asleep by Colin. Could that be the marriage act? You would have to speak with him as soon as possible. How does one get pregnant?
---
"I need to see Colin," you tell the butler urgently once you arrive at the Bridgerton estate.
The butler nods and escorts you to what you assume is Colin's study, as he is sitting there at a desk, writing in his journal.
The butler leaves and you make a guttural noise, alerting Colin of your presence.
"Oh, hello! It's great to see you again, (y/n). I've been expecting you."
"Y-you have?"
"Yes. I heard the doctor was coming to your home to check up on you. I knew it meant my seed had taken."
"What?"
"Marry me, my love. We can travel with our baby and eventually settle down. You will have a luxurious life with me, more than with anyone your parents could pick for you. Come on, (y/n). Become a Bridgerton."
"What did you do to me?" you cry, reaching your hand gently down to touch the tiny bump of your stomach.
"The tea I gave you put you to sleep and boosted your fertility. I picked it up at a bazaar in Greece, when I first had the idea to do this. I consummated our marriage, though a bit early. You would be wise to accept my proposal. This is your only chance at a good life, (y/n)," Colin explained with a slight smirk on his face.
You slid to the floor, dress cushioning your fall. You nod through the tears, in disbelief that Colin had taken advantage of you. You didn't even know what he'd done to you. You weren't sure you wanted to know, either.

Things in Stranger Things season 4 (Volume 2) which did not make sense, were forgotten or simply pissed me off.
❗️Spoilers obviously❗️
The whole town was convinced that there was a cult going on and people got up looking for Eddie and seemingly the rest of Hellfire Club because they were convinced it was a cult. Did they just give up? They never showed up again. Also the parents didn't bring this up at the end when everyone was reunited.
Why did Mike believe that the painting was for him and El when he clearly read the letter that said Will was painting it for someone he likes. Additionally, how the fuck did Mike not notice his supposed "best friend" sobbing in the car right next to him? You can clearly see him look in Will's direction but he just doesn't do anything.
Is the police just... dead? Where are they? Why are they not actively going after Jason's crew
Where is Owen? Is he alive? Why did he say that he could get El back in Hawkins in 2 hours tops if the Cali crew said it would take all night to get back, was he gonna call a private jet or something??
Where is the military? They went to that lab and then were never heard of again.
When Nancy was Vecna'd, she was in the laboratory. Why???? She had nothing to do with that place. Why wasn't she robbed from facing her own fears and traumas at the start of volume 2? Also when she got stuck in front of those doors which were blocked off by planks, they were push doors. Why did she rip off all of those planks if she could've just pushed the door and crawled in between those planks. Maybe I'm getting something wrong here but that just seems like such a hard thing to miss while writing the script...
Why did only Jason and his buddy go to Lucas and Erica when he had a whole team? Were the other guys just watching tv?
Vecna survived being transported to another reality and being hit by lightening so much that his skin peeled off, but can't handle Steve and Robin throwing a molotov at him? Or a shotgun? Really?
Did they leave Eddie's body in the upside down? Why is nobody mourning him besides his uncle and Dustin? I thought Mike, Lucas, Steve, Nancy, Robin and even Erica cared.
So El can bring people back from the dead now? That's not telekinesis, that's Mary Sue magic. What's next? She can share her powers with anyone she wants and then they can make people fly with the jerk of a wrist?
We still don't know why the upside down is stuck on the moment Will was taken. With the way this was brought up in volume 1 it really seemed like this would be answered in volume 2. But of course not, because Will Byers just kept getting sidelined in every way possible.
How come it was leaked that 5 people would die in volume 2 but the only important characters who died were Brenner (papa) and Eddie. Max died but she was brought back to life because apparently Eleven can do that now. That's not 5 is it? Or did they count the people in that helicopter who were trying to shoot Eleven?
Were we supposed to care about Brenner's death???? With how the cemra kept focusing so much on him? I was glad to watch him go!!
The timeskip of 2 full days in the middle of the climax???? Wtf was that??????
Mike being a complete asshole to Will these past 2 seasons was just for no reason then? He is JUST an asshole??
Were Robin, Nancy and Steve just choking on those vines for like 15 minutes or was the time where Eleven struck Vecna actually a lot shorter than that?
They actually forgot Will's birthday, I hoped they were just joking but they really forgot. He was the only character with a canon birthday within the series (until they talked about Dustin's) but clearly they care so little about Will that his entire existence is forgotten.
Wasn't the upside down toxic? Why is everyone just fine inhaling the shit?
The queerbait. No, gay people didn't bait themselves. Netflix, the Duffers, and the actors were actively promoting Byler and hyping up Will's sexuality when in reality Byler is just doomed, not just as a romance but as friendship as well. And Will did not explicitly come out to anyone. People are STILL in denial that he's gay and that's exactly why you make characters come out instead of keeping it "up to interpretation wink wink"
Will calling Mike the heart of their group yet Mike's the one who broke their party up the most.
Mike saying he instantly fell in love with Eleven when they met, as if he didn't tell her to shut up, go away and stop being weird back then.
Mike saying his life started on the day he met Eleven, the same day Will went missing, in his face. When Mike said before that the best thing he had ever done was befriend Will in kindergarten.
So did Vecna create the Mind Flayer or did it already exist? Cause if Vecna created it that's so goddamn lame and it adds no new mystery.
The continuous stereotypes and suffering/deaths of outcasts, poor people, queer people and people of color. One black character plays basketball and the other is a sassy one-liner. The brown guy is a funny weed man with barely to no relevancy to the plot. One lesbian gets a lazy background ship with a girl who is an exact copy of herself and the gay character is living in a painful unrequited love story and used as fuel for the main straight couple, without even being given a canon coming out scene. All this while the straight couples get together and have tons of moments together. Eddie who is poor, is seen as a cultist, dies and nobody besides 2 people mourn his death. Max, another poor character who had already lived through trauma and abuse, dies, gets brought back to life, is now comatose, probably crippled, and maybe permanently blind.
Will's endless suffering. He just can't ever be happy can he? Wtf is wrong with the writers...
Did the Russian crew just end up at Hoppers cabin like that in 2 days? No problems whatsoever? Wow that's convenient.
Hopper hugs Mike but not his new stepsons?
Not one, not two, but three jokes about Hopper once having been fat because he's lost weight in the prison.
Comments had some great additions and I came up with some more too so here's more:
Nobody showed up to Lucas' game when he had a very valid reason to want to play, and it was never brought up again. They all stood him up.
Eddie's death was so rushed and predictable. I saw it coming as soon as he said his whole "I'm a coward I run away I'm not a hero" speech. It's typical "I'm a coward so I'll die a hero" foreshadowing which is overused and just horrible. And in the end he didn't even save anyone, it was completely unnecessary. Eddie deserved to live.
Eleven not being able to win the final fight until she got validation from her boyfriend. Why was she not allowed to do this by herself?
The military watching the pizza van drive off and then do nothing about it? I thought they were experts at tracing and tracking, but nope, they just gave up after Eleven escaped the underground lab.
Just the Cali crew being sidelined so much when they once were such interesting characters (besides Argyle)
Steve saying he always loved Nancy and never moved on despite him telling Robin in season 3 that he didn't like her anymore. Let Steve move on and stop having Nancy jump from boy to boy, hurting them both in the process.
Just a nitpick but the sound design was so overly dramatic at times? Like Brenner LITERALLY snapped a pencil and the sound design was like ☄️💥🔥
Tell me what I missed cause I'd love to add it on this shit list.

Tumblr media
"We shouldn't. Layla told us we can't fool around while she's gone." you whine as you lay on the bed, Marc hovering above you. His face is buried in your neck while he plants sloppy kisses across your skin. You do your best to stand your ground but make no move to try and get him off you.
"Marc, I'm serious. Did you see the look in her eyes? She really meant it. I don't know about you, but I don't want to get on her bad side. We just got off punishment for the kitchen incident." It was quite a punishment too, but to be honest you deserved it. A few days ago, Layla had gone out to get dinner while Marc graciously offered to stay behind and help you finish preparing the dessert you were making for your friend's birthday. His help soon turned into a distraction as he started grabbing at you and pulling you against him, despite your determination to focus on the task at hand.
It started with Marc innocently feeding you a few of the strawberries you were cutting up and by the time Layla returned he had you on your knees, his dick covered in whipped cream, and you eagerly cleaning it off with your tongue. She had forbidden you two to touch yourselves or one another for the rest of the week as punishment and didn't let either of you out of her sight. She knew that would lead to more trouble.
That's why when she had been called to attend an event that would require her to stay across town overnight, she was hesitant. If it were just you, she wouldn't have worried. You're always on your best behavior. Unless Marc is there. He's always the instigator. You can count on one hand all the times you've been punished for something that didn't involve Marc. You craved Layla's approval, needed her to be proud of you. Marc made that incredibly difficult, though. Despite your better judgement, you almost always gave in. He had this hold over you that made him impossible to resist. Especially when Layla isn't there and you miss her.
Marc misses her desperately when she's gone as well, and that's part of the reason he acts out. It also doesn’t help that he is a brat through and through. For him, all the rules fly out the window the moment she steps out the door. He loves to rile her up. Lately he's been pushing his luck and punishments have been getting increasingly severe. Instead of turning soft at the end like Layla has a habit of doing, especially when it comes to you, she's started implementing 'no touching rules', ruined orgasms, edging with no release, withholding pleasure, etc. He also just can't help himself when he gets you all alone. It's like a switch flips in his brain and he just wants to pounce on you. Make you misbehave like he does. He knows you're Layla's good girl and he loves to see you turn into a dirty little slut for him.
"C'mon, it's not like she just ran out to the store, she won't be home until tomorrow. There's no way she'll find out." He continues to kiss down your neck and palms at your chest, making you arch your back.
"Yes, she will. I don't know how she does it, but she can always tell."
"That's because you can't lie to save your life, baby. You know, you really need to work on your poker face." he jests, and you shoot him a glare. But you can't help the small smile that forms on your face because you know he's right. If you're ever hiding something, you distance yourself from Layla, unable to even look her in the eyes. When she finally makes you, whatever you're hiding comes spilling out of you, completely out of your control. And if it had something to do with Marc, which is usually the case, he gets in trouble as well. It's detrimental to you both.
" You really don't want to?" Marc asks. He gives you puppy dog eyes, pulling out all the stops to try and get you to give in.
"Of course, I do." You play with the hem of his shirt, trying to ignore the way you feel his bulge against your thigh.
"I just really don't want to disobey her. We don't have to wait too long; she'll be back tomorrow. And who knows, maybe she'll even reward us for being good. It's been a while." You offer, trying to convince not only him but yourself to resist the temptation.
"It's been a while for me. She rewards you all the time. It's not fair." He pouts and pinches your sides, making you giggle.
"That's because you actually have to behave for that to happen, dummy. You just have to learn to follow the rules. And tonight is the perfect opportunity to try it out." you stroke his hair reassuringly. It would do him some good to practice some restraint.
"I'll try." he says, with absolutely zero sincerity in his voice.
"How about we go watch a movie instead? She never said we couldn't cuddle." He nods, smiling at you innocently enough to convince you he has given up. You cup his face and pull it to yours, and you plant a soft kiss on the tip of his nose. He stands, helps you up, and you both head to the living room.
Marc manages to keep his hands to himself through most of the film. He has you held against him, fitting snuggly in his side. You rest your head on his shoulder, enjoying the safe and warm feeling he provides. You even start to doze off, but awaken when Marc shifts, telling you he's heading to the bathroom. In his absence, you lay your head down on the cushion. Rolling over on your stomach, you feel yourself succumb to the drowsiness again. A few minutes later, you are startled awake when you feel the couch dip, and a weight settle on your backside. You curiously turn your head to find Marc straddled across your thighs. You try to wriggle away, but he puts his full weight on your back and effectively stops you. He starts kissing and licking down the back of your neck.
“Marc, you were doing so well. Let’s just go to bed.” you plead.
“I'd love to take you to bed.” he responds, then starts softly nipping at your skin.
“That’s not what I meant, and you know it.” You feel him grin against you and it sends tingles across your skin.
“C'mon it’s not like I'm going to tell. And you’ll have until tomorrow evening to get yourself together enough to face Layla. You can keep one little secret, can’t you?” You are already putty in his hands and let wanton moans fall from your lips at the warmth of his mouth on your skin and his hands grabbing at your sides.
“I want to so bad. I just… I wanna be a good girl.” you whine.
"Well, it's nice to know one of you respects me.” Layla chimes in, and you both jump, startled by her surprise entrance. Neither of you had heard her come in. You freeze, and so does the man above you. A feeling of dread falls over you but is overtaken by a feeling of delight when your eyes land on your beautiful girlfriend. She’s still wearing the outfit she wore to the event, and she looks breathtaking.
"I managed to find a way to come home early to the loves of my life and this is what I find. Did I not make myself clear before I left?" She scolds, but there is a slight playfulness to her tone.
Marc, still refusing to look at her, lifts himself into a sitting position. You glance back at him and see the look of contemplation on his face. He could play this one of two ways. He could apologize profusely and get on his hands and knees begging for forgiveness, or he could stand his ground and see how far he can push his luck. Being the brat he is, he obviously chooses the latter. Not even bothering to answer her, he flips you over and Layla rounds the coffee table to stand in front of you both. He moves his eyes to hers as he starts grabbing at you and sliding your shirt up, exposing your breasts. Layla’s silence is deadly, yet the look on her face is eerily calm.
He grabs your bare chest and starts tweaking your nipples, and you whimper at the sensation. You don’t want to upset her, but it just feels so good. You rub your thighs together trying to relieve some of the pressure building in your core.
Neither of your partners notice as both sets of eyes are locked in a stare, waiting to see what the other will do next. The mischievous grin on Marc's face makes you nervous. You know he’s playing with fire and isn’t considering the consequences. But as always, his behavior manages to stoke the flames in the pit of your stomach. You don’t know what it is, the thought of testing Layla's patience yourself never crosses your mind. But seeing her reaction when Marc does it makes you want him to keep going, even though you know he’ll pay for it later.
You grab Marc’s wrists, not even sure if it’s to stop him or urge him on and you shoot Layla a pleading look, silently begging her to do something. Marc finally looks away as he brings his mouth down to one of your breasts. He latches onto your nipple and rolls it between his teeth. You let out a squeal and squeeze your eyes shut.
“Do you want him to stop?” You don’t even hear what Layla says as Marc's other hand travels down your stomach and lands on your clothed mound.
“Look at me, angel. I asked you a question. Do you want Marc to stop?” Trying to steady your voice as his fingers slip into your underwear, dragging up and down your wet folds, you whimper, “It feels good but…but I don’t want to disobey you.” She gives you a soft smile and wears a proud look on her face, causing a warmth to bloom in your chest. She walks towards you and bends down so her face is level with yours.
As she starts petting your hair she coos, “Of course you don’t. Because you’re my good girl, aren’t you?” you preen at her words. No matter how good Marc’s touch makes you feel, nothing compares to Layla's praise. With a newfound strength and determination to prove her right, you push Marc’s hand out of your pants and shove his face away. He watches you cover your chest, making it impossible for him to continue, and he huffs.
He sits up and contemplates his next move. He was really banking on you giving in and being able to test your girlfriend's patience together. Even when he's facing punishment himself, he loves seeing you endure one too. Seeing Layla's little angel get in trouble turns him on in a way he can’t describe. But it looks like you had more willpower than he thought, and he’ll be taking this one on his own.
As a last-ditch effort, he blurts out “She started it.” You gasp, knowing that’s a bold-faced lie.
He continues, “She was on me the moment you walked out the door. But you know how irresistible she is when she begs, I couldn’t help it. I’m just doing what you would’ve done.” He leers back at her, trying to stand firm. Layla sighs, not believing him for a second. She's getting frustrated. As much as she hates it when you two break the rules, she hates when you lie about it even more. She usually lets you off easier if you come forward and tell her what really happened. You always do but Marc has the habit of dodging the truth until she drags it out of him. It’s a nasty habit that she’s determined to break, and now is the perfect opportunity.
“He’s lying! He was trying to fuck me all night! I told him you’d be mad, but he wouldn’t listen.” You match the glare he shoots you, and he grabs your thigh firmly in warning, not appreciating the outburst. But you weren’t going to roll over on this one. You had worked really hard to finally find the strength to not give in for once and you’d be damned if you went down for this with him. You want your reward for being a good girl and you aren’t going to let him ruin that.
“You believe me don’t you, Lay?” You look up at her through your lashes and give her the sweetest look you can muster up. The nickname brings a smile to her face, and she replies, “Of course I do, baby.”
“But” Marc starts, and Layla raises her brow at him, daring him to keep testing her patience. He backs down immediately, hanging his head in defeat.
“Go lay on the bed sweetheart.” She instructs and leans down, connecting her mouth with yours. Marc, enjoying the show, subconsciously starts stroking your thigh but she is quick to swat his hand away. “You, go stand at the foot of the bed. And keep your hands to yourself.” she commands, and he follows you into the bedroom, dragging his feet.
He stands in front of you now, arms crossed in annoyance, and you smirk at him. “Thanks a lot.” he sneers.
“Hey, I said to be patient and we’d get rewarded. Maybe this will teach you a lesson.” you say smugly, and he rolls his eyes.
Layla enters, grabbing the chair from the desk and placing it in front of the bed. She makes Marc strip. She then ties up his hands and orders him to sit but leaves him unrestrained otherwise. She removes her jacket and proceeds to strip you, softly caressing your sides as she does, and your skin heats up under her touch. Shifting you, she lays you at the end of the bed, parallel to the headboard, and gives Marc a full view of her body and yours. Normally he'd be thankful but under these circumstances it's torturous.
She makes her way down your body, nipping and sucking at your skin. She's always thorough, taking the time to admire every inch of you. After leaving your stomach and thighs covered in love bites, and running her tongue over your marked skin, she buries her head between your thighs. She's gentle and diligent but she doesn't rush. Doesn't eat you out in a frenzy like Marc tends to do. She knows your body better than you do and knows just what to do to have you fall apart on her tongue.
She has to hold your waist down as you writhe on the bed. Your sultry moans and desperate cries have Marc involuntarily bucking his hips into the air, begging for relief. Before you know it, she has you cumming hard and you grind your hips against her mouth as she sucks on your clit, helping you ride the waves of pleasure. Giving you a second to catch your breath, she then positions you on the edge of the bed, exposing you to Marc, and takes her place behind you. She wraps her legs around yours and uses them to spread your thighs. Her movements begin slow, like before, and she starts by gently circle your clit with her fingers. The torturous speed has you crying out for more. Wanting to give you whatever your heart desires, she dips her fingers into you. They slip in easily, and each delicious drag of her digits against your walls has you bucking your hips against her hand.
Your arousal starts to form a ring around her fingers and drips onto the floor. The sight has Marc falling to his knees in front of you, face nearing your center. Layla gives him a warning look, but she can feel you getting close, so she doesn’t want to stop. Then she gets an idea. She pushes faster against that sweet spot inside you and matches that rhythm as she starts rubbing your swollen bud. Mesmerized by the sight, Marc leans his head against your thigh.
“No touching.” Layla commands and he nods. He doesn’t move any closer, practicing more restraint than he ever has in his life. She starts nipping at that spot under your ear and it has you squirming. You feel that familiar pressure building that you didn’t feel with your previous climax and smile, realizing what’s about to happen, and your whole body tenses. “I'm cumming” is all you can say before you start spasming and you explode all over his face. Marc flinches slightly at the unexpected splash of your arousal. It just keeps streaming out of you and he quickly opens his mouth wide, groaning as your sweet nectar coats his tongue. He gives Layla a pleading look, and she knows what he wants.
“You can clean off her thighs.” she says, loving the hungry look on his face. He laps at your drenched thighs and savors the taste that he's been dying for all night. You let out a satisfied purr and you eyes fall closed, feeling soothed by the warmth of his tongue. When he's finished, he takes a moment and just stares at your sex. Before he can stop himself, he lurches forward to indulge in your arousal from the source. Before he can reach you, though, Layla yanks his head back by his hair, clicking her tongue at him.
“Still don’t want to listen, huh?” She moves from behind you and drags him back to the chair. You already miss her warmth, but your excitement grows as she goes to open the trunk you keep on the corner of the room and pulls out some rope and a harness with the familiar pink silicone attached to the base. Your heart starts beating faster and you bite your lip, thrumming with excitement at what’s coming next. She inches the chair closer to the bed, and Marc is now just inches away. She ties him to the chair now, ignoring his grumbling. With her guidance, you are now on your hands and knees, head halfway off the end of the bed, now face to face with Marc. As Layla puts on the strap-on, you can’t help but smile at the pout on his face. You've never seen him this frustrated before and you would feel bad for him if it didn't turn you on so much.
Your girlfriend situates herself behind you, kissing up your spine, and you pull her up so her mouth meets yours and you moan at the saccharine taste of her. When she breaks the connection, her mouth finds your ear and she whispers, “You’re doing so good for me. My obedient girl.” The comment makes your heart swell. You hum, looking her in the eyes, and whisper “I love you.” She nuzzles her face against yours she affectionately replies, “I love you too, angel."
She sits back onto her haunches and rubs the silicone up and down your folds, each flick against your clit making your breath hitch. As she slides the length in to the hilt, you cry out and she sets a maddeningly slow pace. You're about to beg for more, but she already knows what you want. She slowly pulls out to the tip and then slams back into you, and begins giving you those hard, deep thrusts you crave.
After a while, your arms give out underneath you and you fall onto your chest. The arch of your back gives her a delicious view of your ass and she gives it a quick slap. You whine for more and she continues, landing multiple hits to both your cheeks and thighs and you squeal in delight. When she's done, she grabs firmly onto your hip with one hand and the other comes up to settle on the back of your neck and she pulls you back to meet her thrusts.
With your face now just inches away from Marc, you stick your tongue out, unable to resist the temptation to taunt him. It's a pretty juvenile thing to do, you admit, and can’t help the giggle you let out at the sight of the frustration bubbling up inside him, the aggravation showing clear as day on his face. Before you can pull your tongue back in your mouth, he leans forward and spits fast and hard, some landing in your open mouth, and some on your cheek. You gasp, but your surprise quickly morphs into a pathetic whine, loving the taste of him. You drag your tongue over your lips and the surrounding area, trying to get to the spatter that missed your mouth. A satisfied smirk appears on his face, and he mutters, "filthy fucking slut." You whine at his words, and it has you clenching down onto the silicone filling your cunt.
Layla, however, was not amused. She shoves your face down onto the mattress and leans over you to deliver a harsh slap to Marc's face. He moans at the contact, relieved to finally get some sort of stimulation. Before the sting can even settle over his skin, she delivers another. Then, she removes her weight from you and pulls your head up once more.
“That wasn’t very nice, was it baby?” You don’t respond, honestly wishing he'd do it again.
“Oh, you liked it didn’t you, naughty little thing.” You moan at her teasing and look Marc in the eyes, whining, "I want something in my mouth.”
He jolts forward, wanting to break free and give you what you want. An anticipative look crosses his face, and he hopes Layla will make him part of your reward.
“Oh, I'm sorry baby. Here you go.” Determined to keep Marc out of this, Layla hooks her fingers into your mouth. She chuckles at Marc's reaction as she sees his shoulders slump, clearly disappointed. You immediately wrap your lips around her digits and he zeros in on your movements, imagining it was him in your mouth instead.
Her thrusts become more brutal, each one knocking the thoughts right out of your head. You feel yourself mentally slipping, unable to form even one coherent sentence. All you can do is babble nonsense, hoping she understands how close you are to your release. Layla drags your head up by your hair and you face Marc again, mouth open and drooling down into the sheets. He's seen that look before and he knows you're right on the edge. He looks you right in the eyes and whispers, " Do it, baby. Cum." He's not even sure you heard him, but your eyes immediately roll to the back of your head, and you start shaking. Layla holds you against her, knowing you love the closeness and skin to skin contact when you fall apart. All you can feel is white hot pleasure and you're crying out, mouth open in a silent scream as you gasp for breath. You don't even have time to come down from your climax before Layla starts pounding into you again, hard and fast. She holds you down, making you cum again and again.
When she can tell you've had enough, she stops her movements but stays planted inside you to the hilt, knowing you don’t want to feel empty just yet. She runs her hands all over you, trying to bring you back to her and help steady your breathing. You can't tell how much time has passed but when you're finally conscious of your surroundings again, the first thing you see is Marc's pitiful form in front of you. You want to help him. His angry red tip looks painful, and you actually start to feel bad for him. You somehow muster up the strength to reach an arm out to him and he looks at you lovingly. You were just fucked into oblivion, but you still want to make sure he feels good. It makes him smile and he desperately wants to pull you into his arms.
“Can I touch him, please?” You look over your shoulder and give Layla your best puppy dog eyes, hoping she'll cave like she always does when you look at her like that. She arches her brow at you and asks, “Am I not enough, sweetheart?”
“No! You are!” you reply frantically, immediately regretting your words. You continue, “Just look at him. So pathetic. I think he's learned his lesson.” He's been waiting so long and he’s so frustrated he can feel tears starting to form in his eyes. “Please. I'm so sorry. I'll behave. I promise." he begs.
She sighs, feeling conflicted. She knows she has pushed him hard but he did deserve it. She feels herself turning soft at that needy look in his eyes and concedes. She knows what he really wants. He wants one of you to ride him until he sees stars. This is still a punishment, however, so she decides to give him another form of relief.
Leaning down and kissing the crown on your head, she checks in, making sure you're not too overworked. She really gave it to you hard and wants to make sure you don't overdo it. "Are you sure? You look a little worn out." You're touched by her concern but nod eagerly.
"Go ahead baby. He can have your mouth." The sigh of relief that leaves Marc makes you want to laugh. You turn back to him, and your outstretched hand moves to caress his face. He leans into your touch, and kisses at the palm of your hand. You slide it down off his face and Layla helps you to your knees. He makes the most pitiful noise when you take him into your mouth, finally feeling the relief he's waited hours for. You have him cumming in just a few minutes and he thanks both of you profusely.
You're all exhausted, but that doesn't stop them from loving on you. Layla goes to draw a bath while Marc picks you up off the floor, placing soft kisses all over your face. He carries you to the bathroom, where Layla begins to do the same as Marc places you in the tub. The feeling of their love wraps you like a warm blanket, relaxing your mind as the bath water relaxes your tired muscles. You're half asleep when you all finally pile into bed, cuddling up close to one another. Layla lays you in the middle of them the middle and they wrap their arms around you and each other. Not having the energy tonight, you and Marc will be sure to give her a proper 'welcome home' in the morning.

i'll be sure to come back July 2nd and wish you a happy birthday! but as for now, can i please request from your dialogue prompt list, n. 35 “Please leave a message, after the beep.” with Steddie? ♡
this is such a fun idea and i look forward to reading the stuff you'll create! ♡♡
@spicysix I hope this one is up to your expectations, it was a lot of fun to write! ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ I had an angsty idea, if anyone is interested in it I might still write it, but today i needed some good old domestic fluff.
“Eddie, are you being serious right now.? Steve huffed, placing his hands on his hips. Steve loved the man beyond anything, but he could be an immature brat sometimes.
Eddie had his hands over his ears, yelling, “La la la, not listening.” In the middle of their apartment. He was refusing to hear Steve out.
“For the love of god, Eddie! Would you just—” Steve moved to grab his boyfriend's arms to yank them away from his ears. Eddie squealed and ran around the couch.
“Eddie isn’t here right now. Please leave a message after the beep. Beeeeep.” Eddie’s hands gripped the arm of the couch, trying to dodge Steve.
“Oh, now you’re just being ridiculous!” Steve crossed his arms in a huff. He thought the party being here would soften the blow, and just maybe Eddie would hear him out. But no, apparently, them being here made Eddie extra stubborn.
Steve really loved the damn fool.
“Is there a reason Eddie is being extra weird on movie night?” Dustin and Will walked out of their kitchen. It was Will, surprisingly, who asked. He had come a long way from the shy kid Steve once knew. He was proud of him.
Especially when he called Eddie out on his bullshit like now.
“I will have you know, little Byers, will of the wise, that I am not being extra weird! This is a perfectly reasonable reaction to an absolute travesty of a suggestion! Also, Steve, you love that I am ridiculous! Don't act like you don't.” Eddie collapsed on the couch dramatically, and heaved out a sound that could only be described as a mix between a sigh and a strangled cry.
Eddie should have gone into acting instead of music. Indeed the man would have made a killing.
“I haven’t seen Eddie this distressed since we told him the bat tattoo didn’t make it after the literal bats tore him apart. Maybe it’s serious.” Dustin bit his lip. It was clear to Steve he was torn between choosing sides between him and Eddie.
It was a tale as old as time really, at this point.
Max strolled into the living room with a bowl of popcorn in her hands. “What’s princess crying about now?” She shoved a handful of popcorn in her mouth.
Eddie gasped, “Princess?! I expect the blatant homophobia from Mike—“
A distinct “hey what the fuck!” comes from the bathroom but they all ignore it.
“—But from you Red? I’m devastated.” Eddie gripped his shirt where his heart is.
“I’m bisexual, you dumbass; how can I be homophobic? Besides, that wasn’t a dig at your sexuality but rather the fact you are being a spoiled brat right now.” Max shoved another handful in her mouth as she casually tore Eddie apart.
Steve knew he should defend his boyfriend, but he was a little proud of his kids right now.
“You don’t even know why I am upset! All of you are taking Steve’s side!” Eddie grumbled.
“Dude, I didn’t take anyone’s side. And you haven’t even told us what’s got you so upset.”
Eddie rushed over to grab Dustin by the shoulders. “Oh, Dusty buns, you’re not even prepared. Our dear boy Stevie, just told me…that he’s thinking about shaving his chest.”
The room was silent before Dustin finally said, “Oh, never mind, I am on Steve’s side. That jungle needs to go.”
Eddie fell dramatically into the floor in outcry. Jesus Christ, Steve thought. Why am I into this?
Max put the bowl down, suddenly getting serious. “No, I agree with Eddie; you can’t do that.” She looked Steve up and down; a blush rose as she remained stoic. “Yea, Steve, it needs to stay.”
“Ew, gross! Max! I’m telling Lucas and El you said that!” Dustin scrunched up his nose while Will giggled.
“And? They’ll agree with me!” Max shouted back.
Steve was starting to feel uncomfortable, but Eddie’s smile was wide. It made Steve smile a tiny bit.
But only a teeny tiny bit.
“I agree it has to stay,” Will spoke up with a blush blooming across his face, breaking up the fight.
“No, no! Not you too Will!”
“What? Maybe I just wish I could grow chest hair too.”
“Oh we both know that’s not what this is about!” Dustin tugged on his hair.
Max stuck her tongue out, “Sucks to suck loser.”
The next few minutes, we’re chaos as they all start to place down arguments on what to do about his chest hair. Okay, now Steve was definitely uncomfortable.
“Alright, alright. Enough.” Steve spoke calmly, “I appreciate your concern for my body hair, but please stop talking about it. All of you are my weird surrogate children—“
Dustin leaned over to Max and whispered, “Look mom finally admitted it.” She tried to smother her giggles as Steve leveled them with a look.
“—so it’s a little weird you guys are arguing about it.”
“Stevie, honey. Ignore the children. Actually, just ignore Dustin. And listen to the rest of us. Don’t shave it.” Eddie came up to Steve and rested his hand gently on his chest. His thumb softly stroked the fabric of his shirt. Steve hummed quietly at the gesture; for a moment, he’s forgotten that they weren’t alone.
Steve gently cupped Eddie’s cheeks, before speaking quietly. “It’s just…baby. Baby, i get so sweaty with it.”
Eddie’s eyes filled with mischief. “I know it’s why I like it.”
Steve barked out a laugh as he heard groans throughout the room. Suddenly a burst of noise from the other side of the apartment startled all of them.
“Why are you saying im homophobic? Im not homophobic!” Mike crossed his arms in a huff.
“Until you unlock that closet door, you’re homophobic, Mike.” Max glared.
“What the hell does that even mean!?” Mike stomped.
Steve interrupted before it got out of hand, “Calm down, Wheeler. They are just fucking with you. We know you’re not a homophobe. They are just arguing whether or not I should shave my chest hair.”
Mike scrunched up his nose in disgust. “Ew, why are you guys even arguing about it? It’s Steve. It’s gross either way.”
Steve glared, “Never mind, you’re homophobic for that one. The chest hair stays.”
Eddie screamed, “Victory!”, and started peppering Steve’s face in kisses.
And when the children, who were not really children anymore, started to scream at each other in the background, Steve didn’t even care. Because right here, with Eddie, who made grabby hands at his chest, and his gremlins filling up the place with noise, is home.
***
fluff fluff fluff. also I agree the chest hair should stay.
find the request game here.

plot: it's neymar's birthday and he introduces kylian mbappé to one of his friends.
enséñame | kylian mbappé
"kyky! that's y/n!" neymar spoke sounding a little more groggy than usual due to drinking
"nice to meet you..." she said reluctantly, a little more shy as she started a clumsy hug and placed a kiss on each of the brunette's cheeks
kylian liked feeling in control, feeling like he caused some kind of shyness, not realizing that he was motionless after the hug, completely still. the girl smelled like some floral perfume, which normally isn't one of his favorites, but somehow it calmed him down.
"cat got your tongue, kyky?" neymar said laughing too loud that was when kylian realized that he was standing still and silently watching the girl. the suit felt a thousand times tighter and warmer now.
"i'm kylian. kylian mbappé" he said it as if he were a soldier reporting to his superior she lets out a weak laugh, still looking into his eyes.
kylian mbappe was one of the most confident men she had ever heard of, according to ney. but now he looked cute. in the back of the party marquinhos called neymar for a photo, shouting loudly and laughing with other friends from brazil.
"do you speak french?" kylian said in broken english
"i can say a few words...i think i can at least order coffee if you drop me off on some street in paris" she says with a joking tone. "we can speak spanish if it's more comfortable than english" silent, as if he was studying the option. neymar had certainly already mentioned that he did know how to speak spanish, in fact very well by the way.
"i can talk a little, you know?" he said putting his hand behind his head
"ney told me you were fluent, kyky!" she said as she settled into the nearest small table. the nickname.
"i'm doubting a lot of things right now, s/h. especially if i'm really a social person, i swear i'm more talkative than that."
"you're not feeling comfortable, is that it?" she said a little more apprehensively as she arranged the small bottle of water on the table
"actually, i am. i'm feeling fine, i just don't want to talk nonsense! you know how it is, right? when a man sees a beautiful woman, sometimes he ends up talking more than he should..."
"and now you're flirting? i understand you, kyky. i'm also doing everything not to say what i shouldn't, you know how it is, right? a woman when she sees a handsome man..."
they both let out a chuckle.
for some strange reason, but not so strange, since it was neymar's birthday, enséñame started playing.
es dolor el saber que lo nuestro se puede terminar
porque, simple y sencillamente, nunca he sabido actuar
"i love this song! this is literally my childhood!" she said with the biggest smile of all night. she got up, straightening the hem of her dress, straightening some of the dark hair that was falling in her face, placed the small bag on the table.
"señor, ¿bailarías conmigo?" (sir, would you dance with me?) she said with one hand behind her body and the other outstretched.
"sí. mi señora, con mucho gusto!" (yes, my lady, with pleasure) he said with the biggest smile of the night, the biggest smile in days actually.

New theory: I'm going to connect the Will with brown eyes to birthdaygate
I like the idea of Vecna stealing memories, and it's possible that in S5 the people Will loves forget him, or that he forgets them, but I think there might be another explanation about his birthday.
Ok, Will having brown eyes is only mentioned in the S1 Missing poster, and we only see them in the shed scene.
So, I wonder if they focus so much on his eyes in S2 not to show that he's possessed, but that there is a timeline where Will's eyes have always been brown.
Tumblr media
It would be a smart way to hide the truth in plain sight; letting people believe that the color has changed because of the possession.
But S3 should make us doubt about that explanation. In fact, Billy's eye color never changes. There's even a close up of his eye at the end of 3x03 (here), when he's already controlled by the Mind Flayer. I think they wanted us to notice the difference between the two Williams.
Tumblr media
But back to birthdaygate. They said that in S5 they included many S2 ideas and that we should definitely rewatch it. One of the reasons could be the mention of Will's birthday and the I forgot your birthday card in 2x04.
I talk about the Will the Wise scene here
Theory: Maybe the Will with brown eyes was born on March 22, but not the Will with hazel eyes, the one we've seen in every season, including S4. If that's true, it means that nobody forgot his birthday in S4.
We can't be sure, because we don't see what color Will's eyes are when Joyce says 'Do you know what March 22nd is', or when she looks at Will the Wise (and the birthday card). But I find it interesting that Will's birthday is mentioned in the only scene in the entire show where his eyes are brown. The same color mentioned in the Missing poster. And that we only see the birthday card in S1, the season when they make the poster, and then in one shot in 2x04
Tumblr media
The card in S1
Tumblr media
And in 2x04
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They even show Hopper's confusion here, because he doesn't see anything. In fact, in all the other shots/episodes the drawing is on another wall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before Joyce looks at the drawing
Tumblr media
After she looks at it
Tumblr media
The drawing in 2x01 and 2x05 (Will's eyes, always hazel)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have questions tho. For example. The birthday card. Is it foreshadowing of Will's family forgetting his birthday, or about something important in the past that we'll see in S5?
Also, S4 starts with the mention of someone stealing thoughts. A hint about Vecna stealing the memory of the birthday, or about him spying on Max and the other kids?
The 'Be sure to specify birth date' could also have two meanings. That people forgot Will's birthday, or that it's not on March 22, like we thought.
Tumblr media
Then in 4x08 Brenner says that One takes everything from his victims, including their memories. I know he didn't kill Will in S2, but he was literally in his mind. And I'm sure that line is important.
Tumblr media
But let's say that the theory is correct and Will's birthday, the Will with hazel eyes, is not on March 22. Then when is it? I think it would make sense if it was just a few days later.
And maybe they told us when it is. March 29, Billy's birthday. The hint could be the fact that his name changes to William. Also, interesting that Not forgotten... If Will's birthday is really on March 29 then it's true, nobody forgot it.
So, maybe the Will with hazel eyes was born on March 29, and the Will with brown eyes was born on March 22.
Tumblr media
And IF Will's birthday is on March 29, it makes also sense that Mike doesn't give him any present. Maybe that's why he was supposed to stay in Cali for a week. March 22-29. He wanted to be there for Will's birthday.
But then he sees Will at the airport and his brain stops working. Joyce goes to Russia, El gets arrested, and people start shooting them. They were all busy trying to stay alive and bury agents in the desert. I get that they didn't mention the birthday, lol
Also, this means that Will's birthday would be at the beginning of S5! Before the time jump, when he can hear Vecna again, when he can have visions of other birthdays and Lonnie. In the middle of the apocalypse.
It would make less sense imo if the birthday was before Spring Break, because I'm sure Mike would at least mention it and say that he was sorry he wasn't there.
So yeah, maybe I'm wrong, but seeing Will's birthday in S5, while they have to hide from soldiers, monsters and an angry mob would be epic.
Tagging you, @lilitblaukatz I'm curious to know what are your thoughts on birthdaygate

G-witch AU Infodump
Enabled by @werewolfcoochie @marchdancer @sharpdistances @germanpillow @kallista-dragonsoul and @iwantthatdickgrayson here is me infodumping about random shit in my G-witch AU:
After being rescued by Ellyus, El4n takes on a new name and identity— one he would choose for himself— though Shin Sei doesn't quite have the means necessary to turn his face into something else, nor does he remember what his original face is supposed to look like anyways.
Anyways, his new name is Nary, bc “nary” means “nothing, none” and he's basically someone who has nothing, starting from scratch with a clean slate and even before that he had nothing. Also it's a reference to @stil-lindigo 's fantastic poem-comic here and @telamont 's fic may the little garden where you smile, last forever since I read both of them at roughly within the same timeframe and they double-teamed up on me in terms of brainrot. I am not sorry for this.
I'm still struggling over his new surname however, though Frey is a temporary placeholder— as a reference to the goddess Frigg whose divine domains included clairvoyance and prophecy, and though Nary himself is no prophet his love interest is so hmmm. Does Ellyus count as an Odin figure? I'm not well-versed with Norse mythology. (what El definitely is is a trickster/prophet/fey type character)
Shin Sei in this AU is comprised of the friends and families of the slaughtered Vanadis researchers who want justice/vengeance for their fallen loved ones— and so support Prospera in her schemes. There's also mercurian folk in there but yeah.
Ellyus gets his mother and Shin Sei to fake/develop a new identity and backstory for Nary/El4n. It's up to him whether he comes back to Asticassia but I like to think he does.
He dyes his hair the same colour as the woman who's presumably his mother, the lady with the birthday cake? Yeah? The same brown.
Tumblr media
He still wears soft earrings bc this analysis of El4n's gender thing lives in my head rent-free. He also wears a lot more feminine clothing because he can. (EDIT: added the link that I forgot to add bc fucking hell I knew I was forgetting smth)
He has a new hairstyle. I actually have a design in mind but since I can't draw right now... lemme dig up my gallery in hopes that there's something that looks like it—
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I'm not sure if I could share these, as far as I could track these were drawn by the original artist of the comic this character is from, I eventually seek to replace these w my own drawings when I can.)
He probably ends up taking the surname of some Shin Sei employee, though argh, it fucking pains me that we know practically nothing about Shin Sei!! Who's Godoy and what does he even do?!
The Plant Quetta attack does not happen. There will be another attack to replace it, alright, but it's been moved down the timeline. I don't know when it'll be or by whom, but it happens on Earth, while Ellyus is there. Why is he there? Dunno, probably some GUND-ARM related reason. He's one of the main mechanics of Aerial after all, and someone who's heavily involved in the production of GUND-prosthetics.
Speaking of Ellyus' engineering work, Shin Sei did develop the drone technology Prospera mentions in the witch trial— it's just that Ellyus is the one who created it. Maybe he could also be present in the trial room? His presence wouldn't really help against Delling but hey, it's the thought that counts. Besides, he (and we the audience) already knows Miorine will come to save the day.
Delling is fucking dead. No mercy for the fucker, he probably dies in the same attack that lethally wounded Ellyus? Or perhaps after that, in another incident. Vim Jeturk is accused of the murder, and subsequently silenced by Prospera and/or Shaddiq.
Shaddiq takes the presidency. Ellyus left behind pre-recorded video messages tailored to each recipient, he sat down and recorded them before he died, set to automatically be sent to the ppl he wants in the Know after his funeral, and Shaddiq and El4n's messages include the entire backstory, basically, and so Shaddiq knows about Quiet Zero and who it's for. He seeks out Prospera and basically proposes an alliance— much of their goals align, he can use QZ's might to strong-arm favorable negotiations for Earth, he knows who QZ's for and realizes that Ellyus can be “alive/free” again like Ericht since he's deduced that the night Ellyus went missing from his hospital room and came back dead was actually him being uploaded into a GUND-bit.
(It's part of Ellyus' machinations, to protect Miorine from Prospera, to bridge Shaddiq to a strong ally who shares a lot of his goals, and... yeah. Fuck Spacians, this alliance is gon be a bulldozer.)
Shaddiq does not ally with Peil.
Peil will meet a karmic end. I don't know how yet, but El4n and El5n are involved. Anyways, that'll probably happen during or after the struggle for the Benerit Group presidency.
Guel actually learns something beyond “daddy good”, dammit.
Miorine and Prospera have a... complex, shall we say, relationship. Prospera holds back from roping her into revenge unlike in canon— mostly because of Ellyus' pleas to not let GUND-ARM be ruined/soaked in blood, partly because Miorine is the one who resurrected and kept true to GUND's ideals of medical research and stuff. Prospera hates her bc well, Delling's daughter, but on the other hand... a successor of sorts to carrying the GUND research torch. Miorine doesn't trust her, no, buuuut she still can't deny that together w Shaddiq they're... actually doing decent work. (Again, unlike in canon LOL)
Suletta's off to the side having her own Identity Journey. The video message to her also explains her origins and everything, so she now knows she's a repli-child. I don't know what I'll do with the journey proper but I want the eventual outcome to be: “I am not Ericht, I was never a Samaya and that's just fine. I'm Suletta, and the name Mercury is mine in a way it isn't for mom. I still love you, mom, Aerial/Eri too, but I am a Mercury and I'm proud of that. I still love you but I'm me and you're not my entire world.” kinda deal. Basically, independence, loving her family on her own terms.
No Plant Quetta means no tomato paste and no divorce! Huzzah! (I mean, another attack still happens but due to Ellyus' and Miorine + Earth House's influence Suletta focuses more on disaster relief and evacuation and stuff.)
Adding a new layer to Ellyus' non-linear time thing (I've posted about it, I've linked to it before in another post, it can be found in his character tag), he's allowed to make phone calls to One (1) person in the past. That person happens to be Jeru Ogul, aka Shaddiq's child self, way before he's learnt to put up barriers around his heart.
(Ellyus was never meant to be human. If the G-witch cast proper is comprised of 3D beings and us the audience 4D, he'd be like, 3.5D. That's why he's allowed time shenanigans by me. Only as far as I allow it, though. He's a plot device, a robot w its guts exposed. I have also posted about this before. I won't link to it here bc well, I already have before and ppl didn't seem all too interested in the makings and structure of his character. Meta-narrative fuckery ftw.)
The calls are sporadic, but kid Jeru comes to hold this mysterious friend person in the phone very dear to his heart. Their non-judegmental and gentle encouragement was one of the things that kept him going in those days.
He's buried the memory now, in the deepest layers of his heart, under twenty vaults, along with the tender hurt and angry child self that was Jeru Ogul and everything that it represents. It fuels him, it's his impetus, but it's hidden, carefully so.
It's a surprise to the both of them when they find out.
(basically, Doylist reason was that I needed a narrative tool strong enough to break through his walls and allow him to be changed for the better, to stop having tunnel-vision, and Ellyus became the narrative device responsible for that task)
This development allowed for Shaddiq to be more proactive and open. To the point he might actually ask for Miorine's support/help during the competition for the presidency. I'm still contemplating it.
I don't know what I'll do with Dawn of Fold yet.
Not the Space Assembly League, really.
Somebody help.
Well, that's it for this episode of info-dumping! Thank you for enabling me, I was afraid to do it bc it's disheartening to scream your heart out into the void and have no response.

GIMMIE THE FUTURE MIKE HCS I BEG
oh boy here we go time to dig through my adopted oc's lore
The first thing you notice about post-coming-of-age Mike is that he holds his face a lot more softly. The teenage angst has burned away and revealed the tender, affectionate (and sometimes vaguely sad) core it was protecting. Make no mistake, the judgy bitch will still come out if the situation calls for it, but he no longer approaches every social interaction assuming the other person is going to hate him. Turns out he can actually be pretty charismatic when he doesn't feel the need to be a dick in preemptive self-defense.
The low self-esteem never completely goes away but it does diminish to the point where he can occasionally believe people actually like him and maybe he deserves to be happy. He even gets to the place where he can accept most compliments, except if you specifically imply he is either kind or attractive, which he will reflexively scoff at. The two things he can never truly believe about himself 😔. El finds this endlessly frustrating ofc.
During high school, Mike is the first one to get a car (birthday present from his rich parents) so it becomes his job to carpool everyone to school, as well as drive El anywhere she wants to go at any time. idk anything about cars but its black and pretty nice (Karen is absolutely treating her kids after they almost died in a monster war) and Mike lowkey mostly agrees to favors because he likes driving it around so much.
Actually no one else but Lucas gets a car bc why go through the hassle when you can just barge into Wheeler residence at any time and guilt Mike into driving you. He does have a driving toll however, and that is maintaining full control of the stereo, which he uses to blast hair metal.
(El fucking hates hair metal but she's too nice to admit that to Mike, who eventually figures that out on his own after seeing her visibly tense up whenever he plays it. She never fully admits to hating it but she also doesn't really deny it when he says that she obviously does. This also applies to 90's Mike getting into grunge)
The only reason El graduates high school is because Mike absolutely insists that she can and acts as her personal (unrelenting) tutor for the last half of 12th grade (love her but she's really not good at school), despite her best efforts to persuade him to just let her give up because "Did you know that you can legally drop out of school at 18?" ("Yes, but having a GED is really important if you want any opportunities in life." "…See I don't even know what that is." ":/") Luckily, Mike is a talented and very passionate Explainer of Things and took all the classes she's in last year (he's in AP classes now obv) so it all works out, though after she passes her last final she makes him swear to never ask her another math problem again.
After high school he tries to go to college for writing but ends up mysteriously losing the ability to focus on anything or be creative, which causes him to not do any assignments so he starts avoiding going to class out of shame. He rationalizes this as him being tired of school and not needing to go to school for a creative endeavor anyway haha (true), and he ends up dropping out. (Unfortunately, this is just the start of the college/post-college plot line, which is the gang all getting hit full force with the ptsd induced by the Everything upon entering adulthood but uh we don't have to get into that here hehe)
After (attempting) college, Mike and El (who get married at 18 ofc) move to Chicago and Mike gets a boring job as an editor or something just as an attempt to get a career going, but soon quits that as well bc if you're keeping up with the lore you'll remember that El is getting paid restitution by the government so neither of them actually have to work and he really doesn't like working a boring job just to attempt getting a career going. He then spends the next few years working ("working" sometimes) on personal projects, the main one being a sci-fi novel and, eventually, dming at a local game shop, where he becomes a bit of a local geek celebrity for his excellent dming skills and being a generally cool guy. His original campaigns and one-shots are particularly popular, and people keep suggesting that he start distributing them or maybe even sending something to TSR? Hmmm... not something Mike ever thought about doing but he does have the easiest time and most fun coming up with dnd stuff...no way that could be a real career path could it...hmm.....
Seriously tho Mike is like a master dm. You can ask him any obscure question about anything in the game and he can answer instantly with perfect accuracy. And like any passionate gamer he has many Opinions about the editions and a whole set of house rules he runs his games by.
I wasn't originally going to have him and El have kids but then I imagined Mike telling interactive bedtime stories to his 5-year-old daughter and idk man I think that has to exist. Its not until they're like early 30's tho. Also her name is Ava.

Gimme them Memory headcanons! Please!
Say less! o7
>headcanons under the more/reading<
(Sorry it's long & for late response, was shopping for birthday stuff)
First 1: Memory in my design has white streaks they got from Void's side! Void just dyes his hair black to hide em for unknown reasons (probably ego or smth I dunno. Voids out of my control /j)
2: They're 6'4, uses mostly It/They but also uses he. They prefer mostly the other two tho but won't get mad if he is also used. (This one's mostly based off how in canon, Memory was referred to as a thing by Sabre, and he would use It/They until switching to He. Mem was still called a thing but used he ig). Oh and ig they also used nicknamed but only like it when Void calls em them. Like Memmy/Mem/Memoy/Fancy Steve lol
3: He has light sensitivity and uses their mask to help it when outside of the void/memory dimension
4: It has heterochromia, but in a different way! His left eye doesn't have a iris/pupil, and the area that's supposed to be white is pure red like Voids. (I think it's called the sclera) and also on said left side, they have a scar on its cheek that it got during some event they doesn't like talking about
5: Memmy likes cats and owns two! One tuxedo cat named Voodoo, and the other, a black cat (Bombay I think) called Morticia! Memmys had them since they was a smol lil swirly peppermint boi, and treats them like royalty as deserved 😤
6: (this one's kinda from a quote my friend made but it's too funny to not make a Memory headcanon) If Memory got called a specific slur I'm not gonna say, he'd just be like "Yeah no duh, it's obvious. Now please tell me something I already don't know about myself, or leave please and thanks."
7: Memory is highly skilled in swordsman ship, archery, and fighting. It's won awards in competitions they entered secretly (not because Void would be mad, but because they're Void's son. Void's like a king/God in the eyes of the other steves [of course except Nightmare LMAO] and terrifies em.) They's only lost once and that was more on its end since he didn't want to do competitions anymore, so they purposely disqualified itself by starting a fight.
8: while this one may be more of a ship that was started for funnies, it took my brain over so uh yeah. Memory is married to Faceless. The reason for why (to me) is because since Faceless doesn't have a face (no duh), he's immune to Memory's powers, even when mimicking others. And Faceless just couldn't resist a fancy boi in a suit. (I love this ship but at the same time I'm like "I want it gone from my mind its been 3 months help") ik they never met canonically but I speculate they met a tiny bit when Elemental worked for Void and El had to capture Faceless. It's a long shot but yolo I was bored
9: Memmy boi like flowers. Mostly roses or any black flower, but they'll be content with any other color if red & black are unavailable :)
10: While Memory may seem stern and cold, when you get to know them, he's really nice! Though it's usually always on guard and will unintentionally break your arm if you happen to spook them (somehow).
11: Memmys very sneaky and will smile a cheeky smile when it scares someone from behind.
12: Memory really hates cameras. Like, REALLY REALLY hates em. Whether it's off or not, they don't care and WILL throw a dagger at it. This one's more from a funny thing Sabre himself replied with in his discord when I said "I wish Memory had more screen time. He would of bee such a cool villain" with Sabre replying "maybe he did but we forgot".....I walked basically right into that joke but I love it so I'm considering it canon /hj
Uhhhh yeah anyways I think that's it other than more funny meme ones me and a friend made when I was bored and thought 'what if after the camera was off, Sabre and the steves would have a smp world together' and Memory would be the sometimes chaotic one of the server.
Ye uh I rambled alot lmao idk if this will even post but thank you so much for the ask and willingness to hear the headcanons about our silly little peppermint boi! Memory deserves so much more love that what's seen, I love him so much
Memory Steve, our beloved 'forgotten' king <3 👑

Today is Day 185: What This Line Means for El's Letter to Mike at the Start of Season 4
I know a lot of fans are convinced that the Duffers are careless since they 'forgot' Will's birthday. But I assure you… they’re not.
There's zero doubt in my mind that the writers have a calendar which they refer to religiously, especially when making decisions about the timeline for the story.
Literally every season starts with a date to establish the setting. Do we think they just settle on a date, without referring to any sort of notes?
There’s a basic responsibility there, at the very least, to be aware of what the characters would be doing at that moment in time, based on what generally happens during that time of year. This would require research beyond just picking a date and slapping it on the first episode of the season.
Is it Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter? What events are likely to take place during that time of year and how do they plan the expectations of the setting around the characters and the story itself? That's all intentional and well thought out. There’s a reason every season is surrounding some sort of holiday/event at some point, and it’s because time is very very important in the world of Stranger Things.
Think about the various times they’ve had characters literally countdown events?
Mike with El in s2? El with Mike in s4? Suzie when referring to Dustin’s birthday in s4? They wouldn’t throw out lines like that if they didn’t do the math at least once themselves.
The ‘353 days’ line is one perfect example of the Duffer’s proving to us that they have access to calendars, calculators or even simply, google.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at that! It appears when Mike used the walkie to call El on Halloween of 1984 (October 31st) in s2, it had indeed been 353 days!
What makes this detail so so so so so fucking important, is that this might hold the answer to the murkiness of the s3 ending going into s4.
Because as of now, we don't really know when s3 ended exactly.
But the similarities of s3's ending to previous seasons, might help us figure out that answer...
Every season ends with a vague timestamp for the literal ending; the epilogue. They only offer up the date at the start of the season, but when it comes to the ending, they never do. It's always months or days if we're lucky.
For s1-2 we got a vague 'one month later', for s3 we got an even more vague 'three months later' and for s4 we surprisingly got something more specific, with 'two days later'.
I think the reasoning for this seems complicated, but it's fairly simple.
While it is quite commonplace to give exact dates at the start of stories, to set the scene and everything, there's this agreed upon understanding in film and even books arguably, that also providing an exact date for the epilogue feels a little cheap? Or maybe a bit too 'handholdy' is a better word? I could see that being something an amateur would do without realizing it looks tacky.
I also think it allows the writers to be more vague in what exactly the date is for the end, according to the audience at least. Because they 100% know what the date is on their end, but that doesn't mean they have to reveal it to us.
We don't know when s3 ends exactly. We know that the battle at Starcourt ended on July 4th-5th (respectively). Though we also know that based on s1's timeline, Mike's countdown considered El's death to be the morning of November 13th, and so we can presume perhaps that s3 technically ended on July 5th.
And so the s3 epilogue being 'three months later' would bring us to October 5th, 1985 right?
Well, not exactly.
You see, when the Duffers give us their vague epilogue scenes, they're not saying that it's exactly one month or three months later, to the exact day. They're being intentionally vague.
Season 1 ending says one month later, but it's actually been 25 days.
Season 2 ending says one month later, but it's actually been 40 days.
Season 3 ending says three months later, but it's actually been... well we don't fucking know!!!
BUT I don't think it really matters, because if the Duffer's made an effort to do the math correctly for their 353 days line in s2, then it's probably safe to assume they'd do math for their 185 days line in s4 as well? And to also give us the answer to that question somewhere in the show already, as opposed to throwing out some random date seasons later?
Otherwise why have countdowns like that at all? It literally makes no sense for them to give us an exact number, like 353 or 185, without checking that the days match up with the exact countdown they're giving us.
I'm just one fan, and it only took me maybe 3 google searches to figure this out in a matter of seconds. They are however literal experts in their profession, and for that reason I do feel comfortable giving them some credit here.
So now, let's try to apply this logic then to s3.
Perhaps it's safe to assume that El's countdown didn't start when the Byers moved to Cali in the s3 epilogue, just like Mike's countdown didn't start at the end of the s1 epilogue either.
It's believed that the Byers, but El specifically, had to go into hiding after the battle at Starcourt. And so, could this mean that El's countdown started on July 5th?
The day that Hopper died? The day she lost her powers? The day she had to go into hiding and probably couldn't properly communicate with Mike for about three months?
Honestly, I think it would make a lot more sense to have their countdown's (Mike's 353 vs. El's 185) parallel in how they started.
And it would be weird to restart that countdown simply because they reunited for one afternoon to move, again because there was obviously so much significance to everything that happened on July 5th, that it does make sense to me that El's countdown would have started there.
Also, I want to be thorough by mentioning that, the main reason we can easily rule out the Byers move date being the start of El's countdown, is that it doesn't add up whatsoever.
El saying it has been 185 days since the Byers moved, would mean she was writing the letter on April 7th, 1986, which is impossible. (Also Mike's birthday, which is hilariously ironic).
Even if we spread out that three month window, we still have to take into account that if it was closer to two months or four months, they would've just said that instead. So either the Byers moved on October 4th, or sometime between September 5th at the earliest and November 5th at the latest.
Tumblr media
And so where do we go from here?
Basically, from what we understand in canon on the show, there isn’t much to go off of besides that. And I think that’s the intention.
Over the seasons, the obscurity of the time jump between the epilogues has allowed for them to say obscure comments between seasons, such as, Yeah for like a month (Jonathan in s2) and It’s been a year, Mike (Will in s4) and so they obviously like this appeal of the audience not knowing for certain. But that doesn’t mean they don’t know for certain.
I would argue they have to know for certain, and have very likely done the math at least once or twice or ten times, especially because as I mentioned, there would be no reason to have characters countdown to the exact day, on multiple occasions, if the creators/writers or literally anyone involved with the show wasn't checking to make sure those numbers added up correctly.
And so, based on all of that, I think that El started counting down from the day they separated, just like the previous season, which would’ve been July 4th-5th (respectfully).
And so 185 days after July 4th-5th, 1985, would be January 5th-6th, 1986.
Just work with me here. Because while there are several things that could work against this theory, I think those things could have intentionally been there to trick the audience into thinking this letter was written very close to spring break, even though the math for that doesn't add up. And so lets look at some of the details that might be telling us this letter isn't as recent as we're being lead to believe.
The main detail I want to mention, is that major projects like the one El describes in her letter, requiring a visual aid, is more likely to be assigned at the start of the trimester.
If you don’t live in the United States, or are unfamiliar, basically how it tends to work for most high schools is the school year get’s split into 3 trimesters. The 1st trimester goes from September-December, the second goes from January-March, and the third goes from March-June. It varies depending on the city/county/state. Though it may not seem very equal, it goes like this to accommodate the major holidays with extensive breaks. The first trimester has Thanksgiving then a brief return to school, followed by Christmas/New years. The 2nd trimester starts right after New Years, and ends with Spring break. Then once you return afterward Spring break, that’s the start of the 3rd trimester. It evens out to each trimester being about 3 months.
I think El would've mentioned this assignment to Mike closer to when it was assigned and not right before she was turning it in. And the reasoning for this is kind of obvious but understandably overlooked.
While most kids would probably not think about working on a project like this until the last minute, because most of us are expert procrastinators after almost a decade in school, El however is completely new to this experience. And so I imagine the moment she heard about this assignment, she was just like 'best get to it!!'! We even see her still working on it after the project was already graded because the significance of it was clearly important to her. And so if her and Mike were writing somewhat consistently as it appears, then this would have been mentioned a lot sooner than her most recent letter to him.
And when it comes to the rest of the letter, there are several clues that could also support this theory that it wasn't written as close to spring break as we're being lead to assume.
Like the mention of Joyce's new telemarketer job. It wouldn't really make sense for her job to have been like super new, within the last week from March 22nd, especially if it's intended to be this sort of deterrent for Mike getting ahold of Will on the Byers phone presumably since the move.
Also Jonathan's car, is looked like it had been deserted there for a long time, not a matter of days or weeks, but possibly months (since early winter)... And so Argyle driving them to school wasn't something that happened within the last week worth mentioning to Mike right before their reunion in her most recent letter, but most likely another detail she mentioned as an update, since Jonathan's car is being referred to as still broken.
Even separate from the letter, I wondered if there was evidence somewhere else that they could sneakily be trying to hint to us that this is actually being written early in the Winter trimester and not the very end. Then it hit me.
The lyrics in the background...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although, there are some things that contradict this theory, again I think those details were put there for the sake of tricking us.
Like just think about it, if this was El's most recent letter, wouldn't it make more sense for her to mention both the countdown for when they last saw each other, and how many days until they'd be seeing each other if it was really that close? Unless of course that number of days until their reunion was still too high at the time for her to hype it up, assuming she was writing this letter, perhaps 1-2 months out?...
I also do think that it's likely Mike and El are quite active in their writing back and forth. After all, Will said El had like a book of letters from Mike, so they want us to think that they wrote a decent amount.
I'm guessing the conversation was casual and broad for this letter specifically, because El is still new at writing/reading obviously and because this letter was also being used to update the audience about the characters whereabouts since we last saw them.
This might not seem that groundbreaking, but what this theory boils down to, is that s4 opened with an old letter, not a recent one. It means Mike was reading a letter, possibly from as early as January, 2 months previous to present. This would mean Mike presumably had other, more recent letters available to him to look at, with countdowns like 20 days and 10 days or 5 days, with El gushing even more intensely over the fact that they're closer and closer to finally reuniting.
And yet Mike was fixating on this letter specifically the morning before their reunion, AN OLD LETTER!!
But why?
Let's again look at the vibe of El's letter. If you look really close, it comes off like a response to a questionnaire.
I've always said that although El's lied a lot in her entire letter to Mike, there's a reason they never let us see a letter from Mike to El, and it's because he probably wouldn't have faired much better.
I don't even think it's actually that Mike would've lied necessarily, as much as I think it was mostly a lie of omission situation.
He showed up in Cali as his inauthentic self, and so it wouldn't make sense for him to have given El updates on Hellfire in his letters, which was pretty much all he focused on back in Hawkins from what it looked like.
And so I think the letter he wrote, which El was responding to in that specific letter, was Mike focusing on asking her questions about how she was doing and how the Byers were doing. It's also probably the last time he asked about the others because of one specific detail he got that time, which he's been fixating on ever since... (you know the one...)
Regardless, Mike was reading an old letter, which makes the implications of this (and this)... astounding.
#stranger things#stranger things theory#stranger things meta#byler#timeline shenanigans#there's specific details that contradict this theory#i don't want to list them out because then i feel like ppl wont open their minds to this theory at all#but if you do want to discuss them in reblogs i would be happy to because i do think there are contradictions there#but i also think that all it would take is some context to explain it#or again the reasoning that they wanted to confuse us in the first place which is why certain spring elements are there to trick us#but all in all yes i think mike is rereading an old letter#bc like why couldn't he instead read a letter that says see you in 2 weeks or 1 week or 4-5 days?#but instead we get#it's been 185 days!#and that's it...#and so mike's probably choosing this letter specifically because of the will mention i'm guessing...#it's likely after getting a revelation like this mike refrained from mentioning will ever again in a letter to el#we know that he didn't even ask will about the girl when they reunited ever at any point#which means he probably fears knowing anything more because it will make it all more real#there's basically a shit ton of implications that come with mike reading an old letter and us not being clued in on that until later#what makes this theory even more funny is finn choosing#This Is The Day#for the song he would add to his 80s mixtape#the cast was asked this question during the puppy interview segment during s4 press#and that song.... is so early s4 mike wheeler coded#like finn is known for his knack for music and it's widely speculated he takes hinting at his character with music seriously...#and so yes i hate finn for that because he is a fucking icon#still just a theory! don't come at me!

i was rereading light my way and i'm just curious about how you decided to write eddie as having difficulty forming closer bonds that go beyond doing shared activities together. also in your rockie fic you mentioned eddie never having plans except on certain days. i keep seeing ppl portray the cc boys/older hellfire members as being v close w eddie, and ppl mentioning the list of eddie's friends dustin and max were calling when they were trying to find him as proof that eddie is a social butterfly/v extroverted. i don't disagree but i'm curious about how you decided to characterize him that way.
hi thank u for reading my fics!!
so i know i'm like the odd man out in this and it's entirely just like my own opinion/creative choice like i don't think i'm any more Right than other people. just like to preface my justification. so anyway there are a few different reasons why i went that route!
personally i had a lot of good friends in high school who i literally only hung out with during theatre classes and rehearsals. while we spent a lot of time together and considered each other good friends, we didn't often hang out outside of those activities, and i think that's pretty common as a teenager in school, you know? eddie in particular seems to self-identify as an outsider and he emphasizes hellfire club as a place for "lost little sheepies," which makes me think that maybe he started/joined corroded coffin and/or hellfire specifically to find and keep friends because he struggled to do so otherwise. also, being a DM requires a lot of planning time alone, and so does learning sick-ass guitar solos almost immediately after an album drops, so i think eddie probably spends most of his non-club time either by himself or dealing.
the sheer number of friends they check on when searching for eddie makes me think that eddie is the kind of guy who's outgoing and has a lot of casual friendly acquaintances, but very few people who are actually close to him. in episode one we primarily see eddie with hellfire/corroded coffin, and he is just flat-out performing the whole time. he isn't just having lunch with his buddies in the cafeteria scene, he's holding court. he's putting on a show! it's quite a stark contrast to how he behaves when the group finds him in the boathouse and for the rest of s4, and later in the season we see a far more self-deprecating and unsure eddie. while i do think eddie and the hellfire guys are friends who genuinely like each other, i just don't think they're like... super close. i personally get the impression that eddie is always performing around them, probably because he thinks that being funny and outrageous is What Makes Them Like Him and that he's gotta keep it up or he'll lose them. the fact that he chose to hide out alone in the boathouse indicates to me that he doesn't feel safe enough with any of his friends to have gone to them for help. he didn't think that any of his friends would believe him or have his back, and i think that if he were really close with the hellfire guys, he probably would have gone to one of them first, because i think he was very freaked out by being alone after chrissy's death.
also, on a more practical level, in light my way that just served the story far better. i had zero desire to make up personalities for eddie's friends and write them interacting with the rest of the gang, especially because it would limit my ability to let el just exist as el and let the characters potentially reference Strange Things if they wanted. but of course if they're really close friends of eddie's it would make sense for them to be at his birthday party. so it was just easier to go with the idea that they typically hang out at school and predetermined meetings for hellfire/corroded coffin and that their friendship is relatively surface-level. it also served the emotional arc of the story about eddie finding a sense of belonging! in the rockie fic i put less thought into it, but eddie's hardass nature about lucas missing hellfire in episode one makes me think he's very big on sticking to plans and schedules, and in the rockie fic universe he's become quite good friends with steve and robin, so they can assume with relative certainty that if he's not doing hellfire or with his band he'll be down to hang with them. i imagine they hang out most of the time anyway.
so yeah that's most of it ig?? i also just think eddie is afraid of how people would respond to The Real Him and thus he keeps people at arm's length with his hellfire persona and the only reason dustin and the others managed to crack open his shell and get to the eddie inside is because he witnessed a brutal supernatural murder and was scared shitless. so yeah <3

I admit i didnt believe in birthdaygate/memorygate for a long time but after recent events with the st writers twitter i'm starting to believe, and after looking further into how it could be plot relevant i cant believe i never realised how important the shed scene is. like omfg its been right there the whole time???? vecna knows all of wills happiest memories???? ofc he is going to use them to his advantage somehow
(Referring to this post I made and the memorygate theory)
Heeeeey!
Yeah, I guess we'll see in Season 5 whether there's any kind of valid thread here (I'm personally on the fence with the whole thing, and just spitballing and having fun with it)
So far it's been established that Vecna "consumes" the thoughts and memories of the people he kills. They're kept in his mindscape. Everything that made them who they are as a person. And that's going to be an important plot point, especially surrounding Max in S5, imo.
But Vecna didn't kill any of the people present during the shed scene, so how can he do anything with their memories? Well, we know Vecna has the power to view memories without killing someone, but maybe he can actively manipulate/consume them without killing someone too. As in, it's not something he normally does (because why would he need to) but it's something he's capable of doing if he wanted. And Will is different from all of his other victims (save perhaps Billy). For some reason, he doesn't want to kill Will. He wants to play with him, possess his body, or potentially wants to win him over for reasons we don't know yet. We see El explore some of Billy's memories in S3, and Max's in S4. She's not possessing them, she's just able to enter their mindscapes and explore memories whilst she's in there. So we know that both El and Vecna have that power, it's a lab-kid thing that they can do. But Vecna also has this weird connection with time. So could he effectively alter memories and 'change the past', in a sense? Vecna's spent many hours levitating in the Creel House attic room, moving his consciousness from person to person and reading everyone in Hawkins like books. Watching them. Hearing everything. We visually see how it works in S4, just briefly before Vecna chooses Patrick as his next victim. So after Joyce, Jonathan and Mike tell Vecna what Will's happiest memories are (oops), maybe Vecna goes on to locate those exact memories and fuck around with them. And it's not just that those memories are Will's happiest memories - it's that Will's birthday and the rainbow ship drawing were most important to Joyce, it's building Castle Byers that was most important to Jonathan, it was playing D&D and first meeting Will that was most important to Mike.
I don't think it'd be one big event where Joyce, Jonathan and Mike all got simultaneous headaches one day, to be revealed in S5. But it could be a background scheme that Vecna's been slowly working on ever since the end of S2 after El sealed the gate.
Which is why as soon as we start S3, it's like Will has started to... fade? He's slowly being overlooked and forgotten. By S4, Will's birthday doesn't exist, Jonathan is distant and caught up in his own shit, and Mike seems to think his first real important connection with anyone was meeting El in the woods. There are still maaaany plotholes and questions with this theory, so I'm keeping a very open mind with it <3

I do find it funny (and concerning) barely anyone outside of the fandom is realising how OOC and inconsistent Mike has been through Season 1, 2, 3 & now 4.
In season 1, El is literally taken for a boy and could've been taken for Will apparently by some people who Mike desperately wants to find. She is not into D&D in any way, yet unlike Max, he completely allows her to be in his Party despite again having no interest in said game. He gets into a fight with Lucas about them having El with them and has to work with Dustin after that, Dustin who points out his complete obliviousness to the situation. They "get together" after meeting each other for a week and without proper build up or El having
In Season 2, Mike has arguments with his parents about why he doesn't want to give away his toys and is all about D&D and keeping the Party as what it is and not letting anybody get in like Max despite her being into the same thing as him. He is grieving about El and is extremely moody about it. He says he has a feeling that she is still alive but never goes look for her like Will. He passes most of his time with said Will for obvious reason related to the season but Will is also all about D&D. Like outside of Dustin, there's probably no one on his level. And again, which brings us back to his "Party members only" attitude and how he really acts like a leader around all of theme.
In season 3, he wants to grow up and pass most of his time with El making out to the point he ignores and is mean to all of his friends. He gets into arguments left and right particularly with El who breaks up with him and with Will, who he points out his sexuality after fighting about how he doesn't want to play D&D anymore. He passes most of his time with Lucas who is extremely similar to Mike in that moment about what he is experiencing and struggling with. Everytime they show Mike trying to make up for his mistakes with El, he fails completely or is super weird about it. (plus he doesn't hesitate and goes crawling back to Will after their fight unlike what Max said he was going to do with El) But he is also able to make up with Will over him leaving D&D behind and possibly forgetting about him. Despite never actuallt resolving their situation about said fight...
And now in season 4, he's back and is fully into a D&D club and clearly taking after their leaders vibe. He wants to keep most of the Party together apparently and even tries to recruit new people like Erica. He even seems to pass most of his time with Dustin who is like all about curiosity and D&D plus all the kid stuff he loved before he tried to move on from it. YET when he goes to Cali to see the Byers, he seems to ignore most of the Byers apart from El (we haven't seen the scene yet, he could give a quick hello to them but it looks like this is what is happening) including his best friend which meeting was the best he has ever done and was worried about him forgetting about him. But when he's with El, he doesn't seem as thrilled as he should be for some reason.
Like it doesn't fit. Something is wrong here.
Why would Mike go back to D&D after passing through an entire season where he tries to move on from it and than be worried his best friend might forget about him and join another party ? And why would he ignore him in such a way despite wanting to get the Party together and even recruiting new people when he is his best friend and the people he thinks meeting was the best thing he has ever done ? Especially if it's on his birthday, of all days ?
With Will, even if they haven't talked or given a resolution about their fight, there's still some consistency and why he was into D&D (escaping into the game and problems related to his identity), now that he doesn't have it anymore, he can't ignore it and is going to have to face it. Perhaps he has feelings for Mike (some reviews have stated it plain and simple), which would make sense about a lot of things but we don't know to which extent he is aware of it and if he understands most of his feelings for him. If he has any...
Dustin is the same as ever, if not is growing more and more into these things as time passes by. Plus he seems to be at the center of it this season and even seems to take the lead about this new campaign.
While Lucas is evolving beyong it and is starting to seperate from it due to his upbringing and experiences in Hawkins. He now seems to be a jock which is literally the most opposite thing at the time to a nerd. Yet his sister who was clearly against those things is now growing into it and even playing with his friends.
But Mike ? Mike literally flip-flops all the time and nobody seems to realise it...
So why does he seem to be ignoring Will that way ? Is it because he realised something after the Battle Of Starcourt as some of us have speculated ? Is it because he is back with El so he changes again ? So fast and completely ? In such a short period of time ?
Does he want to make up for last summer to the others but he realises it isn't working so he goes back to El ? Or is there more to it ? Does he wants to make things work between him and El ? Because he doesn't seem that thrilled to be back with El...
From El's POV, Will apparently acts weird and has a crush, if she tells this about Mike could he not be pleased about that ? After all Will made him a promise at the end of season 3, yet he would seem to move on from him from his POV.
So is he mad about that ? Just like he might be upset about Lucas ignoring the Party and D&D this season ? Yet he also ignored it and wanted to move from it last season, especially to get girlfriends. That would be showing a bit of his hypocrisy if he does or feel like that. Will might be doing exactly just that. Yet he is still here waiting for him at the airport compared to Mike who ignored him until he realised he couldn't anymore in season 3. So is he having guilt and he is realising now that everyone seems to be drifting away he didn't pass enough time with them ?
Or is there more to it that we have yet to discover ? Some form of jealousy perhaps ? 😏 But again why ? It doesn't fit with his arc last season which also didn't fit with his arc in the previous seasons. And why would he be jealous about Will when he has his own girlfriend that he looooves so much ?
The fact that unlike the others we don't have a specific idea about why Mike does certain things in this show compared to the others seems to prove something that no one wants to talk about for some reason. The fact that we have to try and explain his behavior every season should raise some eyebrows. There is clearly more to Mike than meets the eye...
I think it's pretty clear Mike has been going through a strong identity crisis for a long time now but no one has noticed it or they don't want to admit it.
Where that ends though is in The Duffers's hands.

ONCE STEVE HAD finally gotten off of his shift at Scoops, he and Kate began their drive back to the cabin.
After her episode earlier that day, Hopper had taken her out to lunch before dropping her off at the mall. He wanted to talk to her about some things that weren't related to her episode, suggest that maybe she should invite Steve over for dinner. While at first, she protested, considering he got off at nine-thirty at the earliest, and that wasn't even factoring time for him to drive over to the cabin and to change clothes, Hopper insisted. It had been a long time since they'd had dinner together with Steve, the last one being two weeks before on the day after her birthday (the night of her actual birthday, of course, consisted of the best surprise eighteenth birthday party ever).
Whenever Kate had told him that her father had asked him over for dinner, Steve had been slightly confused. He could tell something had been off with her, but he couldn't tell exactly what. The thought that something was wrong with her had been bugging him since he'd seen her that afternoon in the ice cream shop, and that was part of the reason he'd given Robin ten dollars just to let him go an hour early.
Once he and Kate had finally been alone, he decided to ask her about what was wrong.
"Hey, earlier when you walked into the, uh... When you walked in, I..." Whenever he looked over to her and found she was currently giving him a confused look, he sighed. "Are you okay?"
She looked away and nodded once as she played with the hair tie on her wrist. "Y–Yeah, I'm fine. Just a rough day at the station."
Steve shook his head. "Kathy, come on, I know when you're lying to me."
"I'm not—" She cut herself off when she saw his face again, his eyes wide with worry. Damn puppy dog eyes. She sighed. "I... I found the file from a... a couple years ago. It just... freaked me out a little bit, that's all."
"Kathy..."
"I'm fine," she said. She couldn't decide if she was trying to convince him or herself more. "It just..." She sighed again. "It was like I was back there again."
He reached his right hand over to her, placing it on her inner thigh and squeezing it. "Hey, you know what? It's been a while since you've had one of those, so that just means you're getting better, okay?"
"Yeah, but they still happen."
Steve hesitated. "They're gonna happen, Kathy. Jesus, I think all of us still get freaked out sometimes."
She sighed as she stared out of the window, moving her hand on top of his. "Not like I do."
He sighed as they pulled into the cabin driveway, putting the car into park and shutting off the engine. He turned to her and watched her as she got out of the car and moved toward the cabin without another word.
Steve had always hated whenever she had her episodes. It wasn't for the inconvenience factor, not in the slightest. He hated seeing her in such pain, even if she didn't admit the pain it caused her. Her episodes had always made Kate put walls up, shut the people out that cared about her even more so than she normally did, but more importantly, it reminded her of that night long ago and the weeks that seemed to follow. He hated them not because they were inconvenient for him, but because they caused the girl he loved so much pain.
Kate's father had made steak and potatoes for dinner.
It had been quiet at first—Hopper, El, Kate, and Steve usually didn't have much to talk about, and that night, Kate had already been feeling especially off. Nonetheless, she tried to act like nothing was bothering her, even if she felt like she'd taken ten steps in the wrong direction.
"Sorry for, uh, throwing off your dinner plans," Steve said, scratching the back of his neck.
"Don't worry about it, kid, you're not throwing anything off," Hopper replied. "You're earlier than we thought you'd be."
Steve gave a tight-lipped smile for a second, returning to his food. He loved Kate's dad, much more than he even liked his own dad. Hopper definitely treated him better, and he saw him much more than he saw his own father (in a way, though, that was a good thing—Steve couldn't think of a time that he'd wanted to see his dad). For that reason, a weight seemed to lift off his chest every time he went to the Hoppers' house: he felt loved.
"So, uh, you thinking about doing anything else once the summer's over besides scooping ice cream?" Hopper asked, looking to Steve.
"Uh… I don't know," he answered awkwardly. "I'm gonna try to. I really hate the uniform."
Kate smiled, pressing her lips together to hide her laughter as her father continued. "Yeah, I don't blame you, kid. I'm surprised you're not working at the pool again this summer."
Steve almost choked on his food, making sure not to look in Kate's direction. "Yeah, Scoops, it, uh… it pays better. I need the money, you know?"
Kate's eyebrows furrowed together whenever he spoke, partially because that wasn't what she'd been told whenever he'd gotten the Scoops job instead of the lifeguard job. She'd been told he didn't want the job anymore because of Billy Hargrove, not for money reasons.
She opened her mouth to say something, but Hopper went on before she could. "Yeah, well, if I were you, I'd start looking at all the options in town before it sneaks up on you. People quit once the summer's over, and that's when you can get something you really like." Hopper paused. "You know, I didn't go to college either."
Steve nodded. "Cool. Thanks, uh, Hop." He paused before going on. "You know, I'd love it if you could, uh… give me some tips or something one day. Maybe some ideas."
Hopper nodded, smiling. "Yeah, I'd like that, kid."
Kate smiled slightly. How convenient it was to have a boyfriend that your father liked. She looked at El instinctively, who seemed to almost be pouting as she ate her food slowly, seeming to push it around on her plate. "Hey, you okay?"
She perked up slightly, nodding. "Yes. I'm just worried… about Mike. His Nana is sick."
"Oh no," she replied, frowning as she looked at Steve. "Did you call him to check on him? See how he was doing?"
"Tomorrow."
Kate nodded, but whenever she saw the look on her father's face, one that wasn't an eye-roll or a look of discontent, her mind only began to run with scenarios of what could've happened. Nevertheless, she dropped it for the time being.
Every time Steve had attended a family dinner of theirs, which seemed to now be a common occurrence, she always seemed to think of the first one he had attended whenever they had first started dating.
She had been on edge all of Thanksgiving Day that year. Not only had it been the Hoppers' first Thanksgiving with El, but it had also been her first Thanksgiving with Steve with them officially as a couple.
About a week before that Thursday, Steve had mentioned to Hopper that both of his parents were going to be gone, just like they usually were, on a business trip because of Black Friday. Of course, Hopper had immediately invited him over for Thanksgiving dinner—he didn't want the kid to spend it alone. Since then, however, Kate had been stressing out about it all.
Steve had been, too.
His stress had been much different than Kate's—he'd been worried about bringing something, about what her family would think of him, and most importantly, how this would change things between him and Kate. He knew, however, that there was only one thing he could immediately fix.
Steve had gone through every recipe book he'd had in his house, which hadn't been very much, to begin with. His mother hadn't ever really been around much to cook, especially since he had been about fifteen. That was when she had started going on business trips with his father, too, just because she didn't trust him not to cheat on her anymore. As he dug through the recipe books, however, he realized he didn't exactly know how to cook any of it in the first place.
Even though he knew how to cook, he didn't exactly know how to follow recipes. Steve mostly knew just how to cook things that didn't require much effort, like pancakes or macaroni and cheese. He had no idea what to cook for Thanksgiving at the Hoppers', and he knew he wasn't going to figure it out anytime soon without any assistance.
Steve couldn't remember the last time he'd had a true Thanksgiving. His family had only done the bare minimum, as it had usually only been the three of them and maybe his grandparents. As he got older, the likeliness that his parents would even be around for the holiday decreased more and more as time went on, making the need for the holiday feast decrease more and more, too. There wasn't a need for anything more than a roasted turkey, some vegetables, and a few dinner rolls.
The Hoppers, however, had always cooked more than enough food to last them a few extra days—they figured it was better to overestimate rather than underestimate. Besides, there was nothing better than holiday leftovers.
That was why he had known just to call Kate.
The phone at the cabin hadn't rung more than once before she had gone to answer the phone. "Hello, you've reached the Hoppers."
Steve smiled at the sound of her voice. She was cute when she answered the phone. "Hey, it's me."
She'd involuntarily smiled, her voice lightening. "Have you decided to chicken out yet?"
"No," he'd said, stifling a laugh. "No, I just don't know what to bring, and since you're such a genius, I figured I'd call and ask."
"What?"
He'd hesitated. "What should I bring? You know, to dinner?"
She'd peered around the wall the phone hung off of to investigate the food that already sat out on the counter. "Um… I don't know, I think we've pretty much got it covered. We've been standing in the kitchen all day."
"Hey, don't overwork yourself, okay?"
"I'm not," she'd replied, almost annoyed. "It's almost been a month since that, I'm fine."
"Okay, fine, I was just checking on you. Anyway, uh… what's your dad's favorite. Or El's?"
"You're really trying to impress them, aren't you?"
She could've almost heard his smile through the phone, especially whenever he'd stifled a nervous chuckle. "Uh, yeah, obviously. Your dad has guns and your sister has superpowers, meaning both of them can blow my brains out, so excuse me if I'm a little worried, okay?"
She'd tried to contain her laughter. "Oh my God." She lowered her voice whenever she spoke again, not wanting to risk the other two hearing her. "If you want to make them happy, they both like green bean casserole. It's super easy, I can tell you how to do it."
"Oh, my mom has a recipe card for that, I think I'm good."
"You sure?" she'd asked. "I mean, I don't mind coming over to help—"
"No, no, no, I don't want you to come all the way over here just for that," he'd answered. "Love you, okay? See you soon."
Her heart had fluttered. "Y–Yeah, don't burn the house down."
Once they'd said their goodbyes, she'd sighed. She could've only hoped for the best.
When Steve had finally arrived at the cabin, flowers and casserole in hand, Kate had begun to feel lightheaded. She wasn't too worried about him: he'd brought the casserole, flowers, and he had dressed up slightly, wearing a nice sweater and khakis, loafers instead of his normal tennis shoes. Kate and her father had always dressed up for Thanksgiving, even if it had only been the two of them for years, but now, with the group of four, the holiday actually had started to feel like one.
Some of her anxiety had melted away when Steve had kissed her on the cheek, making her smile.
"Those for me?" she'd asked, looking at the bouquet in his hands.
"Actually, no," he'd replied, looking to El next to her. "They're for you."
El had smiled, and her cheeks had been dusted with pink whenever he had handed the flowers to her. "Thank you." she walked over to the kitchen, putting them in a vase and filing it with water.
Kate had tried to hide her smile as she looked at him again. "Thanks for that. It's been a while since we've had them here. She really likes the fall ones."
He'd chuckled. "Yeah, I thought they looked pretty. Almost as pretty as you."
She'd shaken her head, trying to fight her smile. "You're trying really hard right now, aren't you?"
Before he could've replied, Hopper had walked back inside, holding a pan with a smoked turkey in his hands. "Where can I put this?"
"Um…" Kate moved a bowl of mashed potatoes and a tray of corn casserole to the counter across the stove, making room for the turkey. "Here."
Once the man had set the turkey on the counter, he'd looked to Steve. "Hey, kid."
"Hey, uh… sir."
Hopper had chuckled. "Whatcha got there?"
"Oh, uh… just green bean casserole. Only thing easy enough for me to make, you know?"
He'd chuckled again. "Yeah, did Kate tell you to do that?"
Steve had turned to her quickly before turning back to Hopper. "Uh… no."
Hopper had given him an unreadable expression in response. Sure. "All right, kids, let's eat."
Kate and Steve had sat on one side of the table while Hopper and El had sat on the other side. At first, it was somewhat quiet, but Hopper had broken the silence first. "So am I allowed to ask when this started?"
"Oh, uh…" She'd turned to Steve, shrugging. "I don't know, um…"
"Halloween?" he'd said, almost sounding unsure of his answer. "I mean, a little bit after that, I guess…"
"Mike said you kissed after… after I closed the gate," El had said, shifting her gaze between the two of them.
Steve and Kate had both avoided eye contact with El and Hopper in front of them. He had scratched the back of his neck, and she had played with the chain on her necklace.
"So since then?"
"Yeah," she'd muttered.
It had fallen silent again for a moment before Hopper had begun to speak again. "I just want you to know… how much I care about Kate."
"Dad—"
"Kathy, it's okay," Steve had said, interlacing his fingers with hers underneath the table. He didn't know if it relaxed her or himself more.
"Listen, I'm not gonna say 'what are your intentions with my daughter' or anything like that, because I know you, kid. That's why I—" He had stopped himself whenever El had cleared her throat, making her presence known. "Sorry, we wanted to talk to you about it."
Kate had opened her mouth to say something, but Steve had spoken first. "Yeah, no, I get it. And I mean, I don't know, I honestly wouldn't even be mad if you asked me what my intentions were, because I promise I have the best of them toward her. I would never do anything to hurt her, and I'm lucky to have her, sir." He looked over to El, who'd still been giving him a pointed look. "And ma'am."
El had smiled, and Hopper had, too. "Well, welcome to the family, kid."
Kate remembered that Thanksgiving fondly, even months later. She loved how closer her family and Steve had gotten, even if it was sometimes still a bit awkward. Whenever she had finished her food, she put her dish in the sink, turning back to Steve, El, and Hopper. "I'm gonna go take a shower, I'll be back."
Steve only watched her in concern as she moved to the bathroom.
"She been like that all day?" Hopper asked whenever she had closed the door.
"Yeah," he replied, sighing softly. "Seeing that file really messed her up, I guess."
"You weren't there, kid. I haven't seen one that bad in a while."
"Really?"
Hopper sighed. "Yeah. I mean, she…" Whenever he saw the look on Steve's face, he trailed off. Steve had always cared so much about his daughter, and he knew that whenever Kate was hurting, so was he. He knew that he had constantly been worrying about her, anyway, but on days like these, ones where she had an episode, he knew that Steve worried about her even more than he normally did. "Just be easy on her, okay? You know how she gets."
Steve stifled a laugh. "Yeah."
And as the three finished dinner together, Steve only hoped Kate would be okay.

Could you talk more about the issues you have with s4? I’m only asking bc I think you’re very sensible when writing about ST!
yessss i love to whine and complain <3 plus ive had a lot of time to Reflect and Marinate on the season so i think these thoughts will be more coherent than some of the stuff i was posting directly after it came out. here we go <3
biggest overall complaint is steve's storyline taking a sharp left turn back into stancy territory. before anyone sends me a why dont you like stancy ask: stancy itself isn't even the reason i disliked this storyline! (also they arent compatible and want different things and its canonically stated like 5 different times in the show) but the Main reason i disliked steve's writing this season was that it largely undermined the value of his relationships with other people. season two established that steve would willingly put himself in harm's way for the kids both against billy and in the tunnels, and season three went on to establish that steve feels the most comfortable when he's hanging out with robin and dustin and just being himself, free from social expectations. all of these discoveries that we worked up to since season one were basically just forgotten in this season. steve is annoyed with dustin, annoyed about staying with the kids, gets injured and only has a meaningful interaction with nancy while robin just walks off screen, doesn't get a single emotional interaction with dustin about the danger they're in or the trauma they're undergoing even after eddie fuckin DIES and overall i just felt like he wasn't acting like himself in terms of his relationships with other people, and this to me seems like an issue with the duffers wanting to prioritize a love triangle once again
i also just have issues with the plot writing as a whole. soooooo many glaring mistakes that just do not seem typical of a stranger things season! ive seen people say "well what did we expect" NOT THIS?? idk from small details like will's birthday and hopper apparently just lying on the floor completely unscathed to larger overall bad writing like eddie's death being absolutely pointless and no one talking about it afterwards, the season somehow feels rushed? even though it was 2x as long as any other season and they had three years to write it? how do you have a 2 hr 30 min episode and not a single scene where the people who spent all season protecting eddie don't get together and talk about his death. that's just...unfathomable to me
out of the four storylines in volume one, two of them were like unbearably boring to me. im so sorry. it got to the point where every time it cut away from hawkins i would text em "FUCKKK" because they were far and away the most compelling story. i always predicted the russia plotline would be boring like the second s3 ended i said oh boy thats gonna be boring. but the HNL storyline......was somehow even more boring. and i love el! i liked venry as a villain! i LOVE JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER but jesus christ is brenner a redundant boring ass character who's always entering the frame sneakily and saying some shit like "eleven......the virus inside you is spreading.....you are an evil evil little girl" like JESUS dude we get it. idk ive never found his character nearly as interesting as the show seems to think he is, and i think spending this much time with him this season was honestly a mistake! so glad he's dead rip. i also wasn't a fan of the stretched out bullying plotline because it was very cartoonish to me and also just like. not necessary. we already know el feels alienated. watching her get shoved to the ground and have a milkshake spilled on her precious little dress just felt like kicking her while she was down
anyways theres a lot this season did well! quite honestly, it all falls apart in the last episode. without the mistakes made there, it would have been so much stronger. but alas i fear it's my least favorite season of stranger things so far because of these issues </3 to me there were times where i was like "am i really watching stranger things right now??" because the writing choices were just so bizarre and uncharacteristic of the show as a whole. praying season 5 is better but i have a strong feeling season 2 will always reign supreme

Big Analysis Part 3
Who Hawkinsed the Upside Down?
It's widely theorized that Will somehow created or shaped the Upside Down into Hawkins in conjunction with his vanishing, but I think there's more evidence against this idea than for it. at this point, I am more suspicious of Henry.
(disclaimer: I'm not an expert understander of the Will theory so if I'm missing an aspect that reconciles all this, please tell! I'm just going off what I was told when I asked around about it, I'm not against the idea of Will playing a role, I just don't see it so far)
my exact theory about what did happen is: I have no idea! I'm mostly just gonna point some stuff out and bounce.
Contents:
Summary of arguments for Will vs Henry vs El
1. Time being frozen on Nov 6 '83 in the UD
2. The Wheeler house standing alone in the UD
3. When was the UD Hawkinsed?
4. Is the UD just Hawkins?
5. What's missing from UD Hawkins?
Top UD-Hawkinser suspects: summary of possible arguments/ideas I can think of
Will
UD time is frozen on Nov 6 '83, and Will's vanishing is the only uniquely notable thing about that date, so that points to him as UD-shaper
I agree that there's no other preexisting significance about this date that I can think of, so I would call this the strongest clue pointing to Will. but I don't necessarily agree with the conclusion that this means he's the UD shaper. discussion of the time freeze in section 1.
the UD Hawkins map seems limited to locations important to Will.
specifically, that shot where the Wheeler house appears to stand alone in the UD. myth busted, I think, in section 2.
other characters visit places in UD Hawkins that Will isn't likely to have ever seen, such as the Creel House, Steve's pool, that electrical panel the lab guy went to repair, etc. I'm very sure the UD is not merely a map of Hawkins locations familiar to Will. In fact, I strongly doubt the Upside Down is limited to Hawkins. see section 4.
Concept: the UD gets reskinned by its visitor at the moment of entry
I assume this is more or less the gist of the Will theory? that maybe the hellscape-UD existed since the dinosaurs but somehow in the process of travelling there, Will unwittingly causes it to be terraformed into Hawkins? (as sure as I am that Will has powers, I don't think he knows/controls it pre-vanishing.) I don't think this is the case, due mostly to what I believe is proof that the UD was already Hawkins before Will went there in section 3.
(if there's a theory of Will reskinning the UD at a time other than his vanishing, please fill me in! I'm just assuming this is the time that would make the most sense)
Henry
Concept: the UD gets reskinned by its visitor at the moment of entry
I can actually sorta imagine more traction for this concept here, in that whereas Hawkins is what Will loves, a realm "unspoiled by man" might be just the sort of place Henry would love. I like it, but in the interest of consistency, if this doesn't seem to hold true for Will then it shouldn't apply to Henry either.
UD time is frozen, and Henry has a big problem with time, so that points to him as the UD shaper
if the freezing of time is intentional, I'd say that Henry, as the guy with the big time/clock obsession, would seem to have more of a motive for doing that than Will. discussion of the time freeze in section 1.
Maybe the date Nov 6th does have preexisting importance to Henry and we just haven't found out yet
incredibly speculative, but just tossing it out there: ain't it a koinkydink how Henry in '59 and Will in '83 are both 12? what if Henry wanted to put his plan into action when Will is the exact age he was when [something something]. I don't think we know Henry's birthday, so this is hard to say.
or, maybe Nov 6 marks the anniversary of some traumatic/defining moment for Henry. he would have been in the lab for ~7 months by Nov 6 of '59 (not that it would necessarily have to be that year). you could sell me on that being a reasonable time frame for Brenner to have studied him before some Incident necessitated the soteria implant.
The UD has certain characteristics that really, really point to Henry
I think the exact differences between the UD and the RU constitute the strongest evidence for Henry having a lot to do with shaping the UD. details in section 5.
El
Concept: the UD gets reskinned by the gate opener at the moment they open the gate
the role of gate-opener seems like it could be pretty important to the equation. but seeing as how El opened two gates that looked wildly different, I think unintentionally in both cases, I don't really suspect her of playing a role in the UD design (at least definitely not consciously). she'd probably never seen what Hawkins looked like at the time she opened the mothergate, so I can't see how she could shape a UD facsimile even if she had the ability (unless I reach ridiculously far), and I rather doubt 8-year-old El imagined the world beyond the lab to be a primordial hellscape either. I just didn't want to totally take for granted that it has to be either Henry or Will.
anyway, discussion:
1. UD time being frozen on November 6, 1983
this whole section may just be getting tied up in semantics, but what I wanna know is in what sense we actually mean it when we say time is frozen?
because I'm not sure time necessarily has to be literally frozen, whatever that even really means, to explain the current state of the Upside Down.
the teens say things like "we're in the past" and "frozen in time" but those absolutely work as figurative statements. the way I first took it is, everything's just how it was on Nov 6 '83 because there haven't been any people around since then to alter it. like if you look at Chernobyl or something, how they call those sorts of places "frozen in time" - no they're not, they're just untouched since a certain date.
UD Hawkins is able to be altered when somebody is there to alter it. objects don't phase through hands or revert back to the way they were at an exact moment in 1983. Castle Byers gets destroyed and then Hopper and Joyce find it later, still destroyed. nobody de-ages to their 1983 selves when they pass through a gate. the UD is merely how it was the last time anybody touched it. and nobody, save RU visitors, is around to do that.
granted, ST gives us a ton of hints that some kind of time alteration must be involved in all this, not the least of which is Henry literally making the clock run backwards, but what was he actually supposed to be accomplishing in that shot? we never really saw a RU result, unless I'm missing it? could he have been messing with UD time? was it just a symbolic display of defiance?
I could go either way on Henry being able to stop time itself (at least in the sense that tends to come to mind), but he sure can manipulate the human measure of it - and all the cruel oppressive arbitrary societal rules that come with it. that's his beef with time, after all, not the actual passage of time itself.
Btw, can we talk about clocks:
look at this and tell me if the clocks are even supposed to be stopped in the Upside Down, at least initially:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when El is killing the demogorgon, a clock is prominently visible - it's about 10:03. and when she wakes up in the UD, that clock is still visible and still reads the same time. if they mean for time to literally be frozen in the UD, they missed or declined a chance to illustrate that with this prop choice. because shouldn't the UD version of that clock be stopped at whatever moment time froze on Nov 6th? unless the UD happened to also freeze at exactly 10:03 a week earlier, that clock appears to somehow still be running in sync with the RU.
on the other hand, 10:03pm isn't a vastly unreasonable time to possibly be the moment of Will's vanishing (IF his vanishing would be the same moment time is frozen at). like, it seems too late to me, but it's also too close for me to rule out with total confidence. I always estimated Will's vanishing in the 9-9:30ish range, does anyone know evidence for a more exact time? 8:15 seems too late for Will to be allowed to stay if he has an almost 2 hour bike ride ahead of him.
the only other UD clock I've spotted is in Nancy's bedroom, there's literally only one frame where it's clear-ish. if time in the UD indeed froze at any particular moment, in a way that would be reflected by clocks, this one should read the same as the classroom one. it doesn't remotely.
Tumblr media
devil's advocate: I'm almost certain it wasn't 4:08 in the RU at this moment either. they make contact with the kids via the lights right after this, and the kids got caught at Lovers Lake at 9pm, and I doubt the cops and everybody are still at the Wheeler house at 4am. I'm gonna say since it's now been 2+ years since Nov '83, that clock has since died of dead battery or lack of winding or whatever so the time on it is irrelevant. in all honesty this is likely an overlooked prop we weren't really meant to notice.
So anyway, that's a long winded way to say I'm not clear in what sense time is supposed to be frozen. I find myself thinking about the UD less in terms of "why did time stop on Nov 6?" than "where did all the people go on Nov 6?"
2: the Wheeler house stands alone
In the 4x07 view of the Upside Down, the Wheeler house appears to stand alone with no neighbor houses around it, giving the impression that the UD may be somewhat limited to locations familiar or important to Will.
it's shown across a huge empty space strewn with destroyed power lines. where's the neighborhood? why are there all these line towers between us and the Wheeler house instead of houses?
but actually, there is a big space between that tree line and the Wheelers' street, with power lines/towers in it. we see it in s1 when Mike tells El to meet them under the power lines behind his house. a lot of the empty space between the camera and the Wheeler house is legitimately an empty field. (these screenshots aren't of the same angle, but are looking at the same area)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the Wheeler house does not really stand alone in the UD shot.
there are a few other neighbor houses, they're just designed not to compete at all with the Wheeler house in noticeability, so it's clear to the audience which house we're looking at. you can see them with the brightness cranked:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but don't there seem to be some houses missing? it's so sparse. like, why the giant space to the right of the Wheelers?
I had to rewrite this whole section after I noticed this aerial view of the Wheeler house we're shown in 3x04:
Tumblr media
I'm no longer sure any houses are missing. I think that's just how the neighborhood looks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll grant you the overhead shots are very murky and ambiguously sparse, but the UD gang does bike past still more other houses. 4x07 script makes no mention of the Wheeler house standing alone in the power lines shot.
there are enough background houses present for me to pretty confidently rule out the "only places important/familiar to Will are mapped" concept, if not the whole concept of structures being absent at all.
3: When was the UD Hawkinsed?
Idk, but it was before Will's vanishing. here's why I say that:
El walks up behind the demogorgon in the void, taps it on the shoulder, gets scared and screams, and the mothergate opens.
here's what it's doing as she approaches it - eating. although it's isolated in the void, this shot does in fact tell us exactly where this is happening.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
what's it eating? that giant egg that Hopper later saw when he and Joyce were walking through the UD woods. "but there could be multiple eggs like that!" sure, but this is that exact one. the holes in it match up:
Tumblr media
and while Hopper pauses a second to examine the egg, Joyce continues ahead and shows us exactly where we are:
Tumblr media
only steps away from Castle Byers.
the demogorgon was already at an identifiable location in UD Hawkins not only before Will vanished, but before El even opened the mothergate. which means that neither of those events can mark the moment the UD got Hawkinsed.
sidenote, if I'm right about my theory that the mothergate opened where it did because Henry was standing there (section 12), this is strong evidence that the demogorgon (the one eating the egg, at least) can't physically be Henry because he can't have been both in the lab and at Castle Byers at the same moment.
unless somebody can show me a different way to look at this, this pretty firmly disproves in my mind the idea that Will shaped the UD in the course of his vanishing.
if he did it, he had to have done it before his vanishing. but I don't know how one goes about accidentally creating an alternate dimension in the course of a normal day, even if one does almost definitely have latent powers.
if it wasn't Will but Henry, when would Henry have done it? he would have to have done it before the mothergate, too. and I have such little idea what means are available to him pre-83 that I don't even know where to start speculating.
I have a lot more thinking left to do, but as of this moment, I'm not so sure Henry Hawkinsed the UD either. what I mean is, I do suspect Henry had a lot to do with making UD Hawkins be the way it currently is (more below), but I'm not 100% convinced that "the Hawkinsing" is a thing that even happened.
(I'm gonna go off the deep end elaborating about this in part 4 so put a pin in this for now)
Tumblr media
if 8:15 isn't the moment the UD is "frozen" (or depopulated) then what is it?? tell me what else it could be?? I am shaking and biting and microwaving little Will rolling the 7 to see if I can find a way that it could have any effect on the UD. because SOMETHINGwinkwink was already at Mike's house in the UD when that happened.
Will rolled the 7 at 8:15, and the demogorgon yoinked the scientist before that, and the gate had to be opened before that, and UD Hawkins apparently already existed before that. so I think Will rolling the 7 can't be the time that creates UD Hawkins but it may not rule out it being the moment UD Hawkins freezes (if those could be 2 separate events).
4: Is the UD Hawkins only?
maybe semantics again, but I don't think UD Hawkins is actually just Hawkins. it's the whole world. we just always see the Hawkins area because that's where our characters are accessing it.
the UD is constantly being referred to as not just some little sandbox area but a world - our world being distinguished from another - Henry being obsessed with "the world" -
"That day, you awakened a doorway to another world." "Henry is chiseling away at the barrier that exists between our two worlds."
"Who do we know that wants to take over the world? The Mind Flayer."
"It's going to be you that breaks the world."
["Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" by Journey]
"This isn't just about America, smuggler. They have warned us of a great evil in the world. An evil that does not rest, that does not respect borders. After it has consumed everything in their land, it will come for us. For our families. For our Motherland."
In his massacre monologue Henry says "world" TEN times: "I know what it's like to be alone in this world." "A cruel, oppressive world dictated by made-up rules." "We could reshape the world," etc.
"Hawkins will burn and fall. And the rest of this senseless, broken world."
far from the only examples. Henry's interests are global - Hawkins is merely his starting point. I guess it'd be more accurate to call it "UD earth" but I'm not gonna do that because I don't like how spacey it sounds lol
s4 demonstrated that the four gates open in Hawkins at the same time all accessed the same "map" when Nancy &co entered the UD via one and successfully exited via another, even before they all merged.
Tumblr media
although this didn't actually happen on the show, this poster art (including the version where they all join together) together with what did happen on the show sorta suggests that a gate opened anywhere in the world can access the same "map". this poster art really gatebated me btw. I can't think of a reason to imagine that if you got into the UD and picked a direction and started walking, it would "end" at Hawkins city limits or anywhere else.
with that in mind, think of the first scene of s3, when a gate is opened in Russia. it's very brief, but it's a legit gate - vines even crawl out of it. this happens on June 28 1984. that's during the time the Mothergate is already open in Hawkins (Nov 6 1983 - Nov 5 1984). at that moment, the UD could have spanned from Hawkins to Russia at the same time.
Tumblr media
I'm saying "can" and "could have" because we didn't actually see what was inside the Russian gate (or Starcourt gate for that matter) and I can't think of any proof that every gate has to lead to the same map. and I also can't think of any proof that UD Hawkins is in fact the hellscape/wasteland with a makeover, and if it isn't, I also can't point to any proof that a gate can't still be opened to the h/w. more thoughts on this in part 4
5. What's missing from the UD?
UD Hawkins looks like a duplicate of the normal world, except with a handful of differences. it has some things added - vines, democreatures and all that jazz - but also some things missing.
the things missing from the Upside Down read an awful lot like a list of things Henry hates:
there are no people (live ones anyway). Henry considers humans "a unique type of pest"
time appears halted (although I wonder if that may be merely a side effect of the lack of people) and Henry has a major problem with time.
there's no/little heat. this aspect seems really downplayed in later seasons, but Will describes the UD as "like home but dark and empty and cold" and he seems almost hypothermic in Castle Byers. the Mind Flayer (Henry) likes it cold.
there's no water. the Virginia bathtub scene and paralleled Joyce bathtub scene seems to imply some incident that causes Henry to fear water. (for better articulation than I could offer, please see the huge brain of aemiron-main who is the first one I saw point out the bathtub abuse thing)
the UD is a dark place, but not void-dark, not "light literally cannot be seen" dark. it just looks like it's night all the time. what's missing? sunlight. (is he a vamp- is he a vampire?) see the sun causing flayed Billy distress. see Nancy observing that the demogorgon "always seems to hunt at night". see Dart shying away from the light/heat of lamps. see Henry killing Virginia, Alice, Chrissy, Fred, Patrick, and Max all at night. see every fully immersive vision Henry gives his victims being set at nighttime even if the scene is really in broad daylight. I guess the sun is sort of a twofer - it's the basis for the measure of time, and perpetual night makes the UD a very cold place. not sure to take this as "literally no sun somehow" or "sun blocked out by spooky storm/air quality/etc" but the effect is the same.
I won't argue about the timing seeming to point more to Will, but I gotta say the characteristics of UD Hawkins strongly point to Henry playing a role in its current state.
that then makes me want to say "oh then maybe it was an unwitting team effort when Henry connected with Will" but again, the thing about UD Hawkins predating Will's vanishing gets in the way of this for me.
but Will rolled the 7 at 8:15, and the demogorgon yoinked the scientist before that, and the gate had to be opened before that, and UD Hawkins apparently already existed before that. so I think Will rolling the 7 can't be the time/event that creates UD Hawkins but it may not rule out it being the moment UD Hawkins freezes (IF those could be 2 separate events).
I also don't know yet how I think Henry could alter an entire world/dimension. like, did he copy & paste the world on Nov 6 and then delete people, water, etc in his version? is that something he can make the Mind Flayer do?
it's hard to speculate about which of two wildly fictional tasks takes more magic strength, but I'm going to say creating or terraforming an entire world sounds like it probably requires more power than opening a gate. and we know opening a gate takes a crazy amount of power, and we know Henry didn't even have that much power until he stole El's in '85. so I'm trying to think of how to picture he could have created or copy/pasted or edited or whatever an entire world in '83 or prior.
ANYWAY I hope that was at least semi coherent and I'll be interested to hear everyone's thoughts on if this impacts the Will idea for you!
