...just heard about the upcoming perk changes...hmm...yeah. the only good one definitely is the adrenaline nerf. I've wanted them to take away healing off hook forever.
the other perk changes are ass.
ultimate weapon is still outrageously unfair, even if you take away the screaming! to me, it feels like they just saw the uptick in people using calm spirit following the addition of ultimate weapon, and decided "hm, the way to deal with this is to remove the screaming." no! this perks needs to be reworked differently! given a longer cooldown, something! it does way too much for just one perk!
DS buff isn't going to stop tunnelling. strong killers don't care if you stun them, and weaker survivors likely won't even have DS because it's licensed...waste of a buff. just as they should do with off the record, they need to spread out these important anti-tunnel strategies to general perks. it's so unfair that something this important be gated behind a DLC. and no one perk should ever be too strong!
also, I saw otz's commentary on the changes. I could not agree more that certain killers should be nerfed directly, rather than trying to just balance perks generally. not all killers interact with different perks the same... nurse, wesker, huntress, blight, etc do not care about a stun, even if it's increased in length. you need to change them & how their powers work in relation to stuns, so survivors have a chance to get away from them, rather than buffing the perk so that old man ghostface has an even worse time in this dogshit meta lmao.
#dbd#thoughts about media#I haven't been on twitter in a while. I'm sure survivor mains are crying real hard about the adren nerf.#as if it was fair that the perk would heal you off hook like that. again: one perk should never do THAT much.#like. steve has a perk that heals you off hook. but it does ONLY that and you have to heal another survivor FIRST.#that feels fair! it does one thing and there's a trade-off! and the heal isn't immediate.#it's 16 seconds and then you heal. and you have base kit BT for 10 seconds to get away from the killer.#tbh- a slight buff to second wind would have been better than a DS buff. like. idk. reduce it to 12 seconds to heal off hook?#but second wind is a licensed perk again. so they should rather focus on making some general perk that does something like this instead.#there are sooo many survivor perks that are total dogshit and do nothing. including MANY general perks. REWORK THOSE!!!#I can't imagine this DS buff going to be a problem for hux because he's kind of a way more fair version of nurse.#he's very mobile. he just requires a lot more patience and skill to play.#I haven't seen anything about his planned changes yet. I'm hoping so badly that it will be a slight buff.#and by that I mean PLEASE MAKE SOMA FAMILY PHOTO BASE KIT!!!!!!#or even partially base kit!!! he should NOT be so dependent on one add on.#making it fully base kit wouldn't even be a problem because that would not impact kill rates at all.#this total hottie is only played by myself and a total of 5 other people worldwide.#making soma family photo isn't going to change that LOL.#like...some people might TRY him if he gets buffed. but I assure you- it would take a miracle to make more hux mains.

I will not be able to finish my louis and paul backstory fic in time for louis' month considering all i have to do including an emergency move to another city :( and I haven't had the time at all to get back to the ghost-house-or-is-it project. But maybe I can finish this roleplay-as-exposure-therapy-done-wrong "It Follows"-inspired fic in time for Halloween.

thinking about the amount of times I've cried out in pain or explicitly said "you're hurting me" to a clinician and they've just continued what they're doing and said it's necessary and not realising how collectively traumatic it is to have your body touched and manipulated past your comfort level and bc your body CAN move that way, they just don't give a shit lmao

I think Bri'ish people should adopt '12 Days of Mourning' every time they protest something or shut something down. Someone has for sure died today. A lot of people die every day. Many of them probably bc of something the government did or failed to do. And on what basis are they being denied the same honours as this random old lady? Next time there is a strike, a boycott or anything - 'I'm sorry, we are mourning here. You wouldn't want to be disrespectful in this time of loss, do you?' - 'wow, I can't believe you're stopping our march on a day of mourning for the average number of people who have died today in the United Kingdom'.

my bookclubs' inability to understand nuance and to either misinterpret or completely ignore things blatantly stated in the text continues to drive me up the wall and yet i keep going because im desperate to get out of the house and make connections with people, especially people who also read. but after this last bookclub, where im still angry and frustrated a whole 24 hours later, im wondering if i should just stop because it doesn't get better and maybe i need to accept that it's not going to

South Park tendency to kill/get rid off of the female school staff members made me believe Nurse Gollum was killed/fired in some godforgotten episode but nope, she is actually still active, despite all the red flags Ms Gollum is the only SP staff ever since the unaired pilot to have never leaved the workplace, she and Makey are the only OG lasting members

Woo!!!!!! FINALLY found a nutritionist that's knowledgable about feeding tubes and is willing and able to work with me!!!!
I was so fucking stressed bc Everyone I've talked to so far has said no to me, I was starting to think I was just gonna be handed feed bags and told 'good luck avoiding refeeding syndrome kiddo 👍'
Like even the fucking eating disorder unit that I unaffectionately call The Redacted Place Of Horrors rejected me. Y'know, the place famous for attempting to keep me locked up despite determining that I did not in fact have an eating disorder. They heard 'long-term medical feeding tube' and puffed up like a startled kitty cat, which was both hilarious and irritating. I was desperate enough that I would've totally let them bully me again if it meant I could avoid getting extremely ill
But!! Problem solved!! This nutritionist is really nice, she gave me SO much info and will meet me in the hospital when I go for my surgery 🥺

im so incredibly sad about the two healthcare workers shot and killed in dallas but i’m also just fucking angry. you wonder why your ER waits are so long, you wonder why it takes awhile to answer your call light, you wonder why your nurse, your aid, is burnt out? it’s because of the abuse healthcare workers suffer - physical, emotional, and sexual by the people they’re trying to help.

Are you sure that you're alright Quill??? That's a long time to be walking on a fractured foot
-Heathen, someone who has never fractured or broken a bone
Yea I'm good don't worry about it. It's not like I was doing nothing, I know how to deal with foot injuries; I iced, wrapped, and elevated my foot for those few days until it was determined that despite that my foot was not improving so then we went to Urgent Care
there we got x-rays and confirmed that my foot was fractured (I fractured it sunday morning, got the results of the x-ray sometime around 11pm-12am last night) and went ah shoot
I did find it amusing when the nurse who was helping told us that she was thinking "dang they're badass" when we were walking to the room to get the x-ray results because she knew I had a fractured foot and had offered me, who didn't know my foot was fractured, a wheelchair and I went nah it's good and then just walked after her on said fractured foot
anyway now my foot is in a splint for the next few days until I have an appointment with orthopedic and I am not allowed to walk on it which is very very annoying because I have so many things happening this week like damn wish I'd put off finding out my foot was fractured so I could continue walking around on it none the wiser :/ (no one actually do that that's a bad idea medically please seek care and don't walk on broken bones)
i won't lie tho when I first saw the bruise forming my thoughts were "woaa!! sick!!" /pos and the second was "haha teal bruise fitz color."

If I may ask, is the AU where Silco and Vander adopts all the kiddos was because either he or Vander were (coincidentally) barren?
And how would the river scene had happened in this AU (if it did at all)?
Oh and I love your reluctant best aunt Sevika, I think she and Sky would be like the best aunties ever!
I'm assuming you're talking about Wet Nurse? (and not the variant of Zaun Family where they do just adopt them) They haven't tried for kids yet in that one, they made a deal that they wouldn't have kids until Zaun is independent and then Vander brought home two girls... and then two boys. (If it is the variant of Zaun Family than they are unable to conceive themselves but they'd already adopted Viktor by the point they even started to try and while it might have been part of the reason they adopted the others it's not the main one).
I think in my head Zaun just doesn't have a massive hang up about blood-family. And I think Silco's pretty neutral on kids until he has some (either through biology or adoption). And while Vander likes and generally wants kids at some point in his life in basically every verse of mine the first kid he has (or adopts) is kind of unplanned. So if they are unable to conceive themselves they kind of haven't dwelled on it or possibly even realised it before they... have some kids they adopted and then it's a bit of a non-issue because these are their kids.
In all my verses the river scene still happens it's just not always Vander who is there doing the attempted-Silco-killing. In the Wet Nurse verse (so the one where they adopt the kids but no Zaun Representative) it's one of the early Shimmer-beasts Singed and Silco are making in secret that is doing the attempted-Silco-killing. In Zaun Family here's a post about it with links to others.
I mean Sevika already is effectively Jinx's reluctant aunt in the canon. And there is just something so fun about her now playing that role to all their kids. Even if she's butting heads with all of them as much as she's looking out for them.
Sky would be such a good aunt! But she's very much the nice and sweet aunt that is possibly a bit too unsure about the kid doing something that might hurt themselves. The parents aren't worried about leaving their kid alone with her but she is very worried because what happens if they get hurt on her watch!?
