One Piece's inspiration from Peter Pan goes further than just Sir Crocodile and Captain Hook (Chapter 1085 Spoilers)
This may be spoiler heavy, so I am putting it under the read.
Joy Boy and Imu are both inspired by Peter Pan, albeit different aspects of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joy Boy being a youthful hero who is seen being able to fly was probably inspired by Peter Pan, I would even suspect that he was specifically inspired by the Disney version for how that depiction emphasizes on the sillier mischief against Captain Hook that does get fairly cartoony. This is something that Oda easily exaggerated for Luffy's fight against Kaido.
Meanwhile, Imu is probably more inspired by the more evil aspects of Peter Pan such as having a fear of getting old (Translating to using the Op Op Fruit to make themselves immortal and probably having a general fear of death as a contrast to the Will of D granting a more dignified death) and having a generally callous and uncaring attitude towards other lives.
(On a side note, I could see Imu being either an extremely old person that looks like a shriveled mummy OR a perpetual teenager/young adult)
Furthermore, Peter Pan is known for meddling around with his shadow, and what is an evil counterpart of the hero, but a metaphorical shadow?
Next part of the theory: The Gorosei were kidnapped as children and groomed by Imu into being personal acolytes and to ensure absolute control over the World Government while being able to stay hidden in the shadows
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imu may have met the Gorosei one by one when they were kids (And for all we know, the Gorosei may have been troubled children who felt alone), pretended to be their friend, whisked them away from their parents, and slowly groomed/manipulated them into following Imu's ideology and to enforce Imu's will however possible. Like a darker version of Peter Pan’s Lost Boys. As for why they're so old, it's because it took a long time to find the Op Op Fruit to do the whole Immortality operation all over again; try doing that repeatedly. The reason Ju Peter is relatively youthful is because he was lucky to have gotten it as early as he did.
This also further ties into how other people have noticed the parallel between Doflamingo and Imu
Now the final part isn't much, but it's a finisher.
Imu wants Vivi in a similar manner as Peter Pan wanted Wendy (Or at least it was inspired by that)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I personally doubt Imu is even capable of romantic feelings and attempting to swap bodies with Vivi is pretty unlikely if Imu wants to keep their powers (Seeing how even with swapping bodies, the powers stay in the original host bodies). If anything, I would argue that Imu wants Vivi to recreate whatever bond Imu and Lili had or even to go as far as to recreate a sort of 20 Ancient Kingdoms; a family/cult by force (Also why Imu keeps the Celestial Dragons around).

I did not like the hobby-hobby powers when they were first introduced. It felt too contrived I felt that the memory aspect and toy powers should have been split between two different people or something else. But then this happened.
Tumblr media
Devil fruits represent people dreams. This is an amazing revelation for many thematic and practical reasons and explains so much.
But it got me thinking what dream, whose dream, could create Sugar’s fruit? And the answer quickly became more and more obvious the World Government.
The hobby hobby fruit allows people to truly be forgotten and controled. There is no possibly for rebellion no way to pass your will on. Inconvenient people are now obedient toys dancing on the world government’s strings.
And what better place for this fruit to be than in the hands of a follower of a former celestial dragon Doflamingo.
This power is perfect now.

"Nico Robin stands for the power of knowledge, i.e. overturning the rule of the World Government does not depend on the power of weapons, but on opening the eyes of the world’s citizens to the true nature of the World Government’s rule. Here it is easy to see an analogy, encouraging the reader to seek to uncover how the world is held together and discover the roots and mechanics of the order based on sovereign states originating in the West, which has merits as well as deficiencies."

Seeing the entire OP chapter only made it more heartbreaking mostly 'cause it's also filled with so many cute and adorable memories with Bonney and Kuma...that's his baby, he loves her so much!!!!
Fuck I'm mad about everything related to this backstory, my heart is broken for these people. I want everyone who hurt them to suffer, but nothing they could experience would still compare to the horror they inflicted on so many people...

This is giving me shivers 🫣
I can’t believe all of the mysteries of One Piece are about to be unwrapped slowly. I’m excited, shocked, and a little sad that it’s close to the end. I’m never going to find another anime to fill the gap once One Piece has finished. We have the anime to watch but after that I’ll be lost and heartbroken for a few weeks 😭

Check your conspiracy theory. Does it sound anything like this?
There is an ancient global conspiracy plotting to create a one world government.
The one world government will be headed by a single leader.
The conspiracy intends to make everyone follow a religion it created.
The conspiracy is trying to destroy all true religion/spirituality.
The conspiracy deliberately stirs up conflict and starts wars.
The conspiracy deliberately does whatever it can to confuse, exhaust, and demoralize the people.
The conspiracy creates and/or manipulates art and entertainment to control and brainwash the masses.
The conspiracy uses mind-altering substances to manipulate and control people.
Liberal politics (EG, religious tolerance, equality) are part of the conspiracy.
Communism and collectivism are part of the conspiracy.
The conspiracy manipulates the economy to our detriment.
The conspiracy wants to do away with the gold standard.
The conspiracy wants to do away with the free market.
The conspiracy intends to tax the rich, which is bad because taxes are just legal theft.
Teaching people about the mistakes and atrocities committed by governments is part of the conspiracy.
The conspiracy creates new religions and spiritual movements to further their agendas.
All secret societies (EG, Freemasonry) are part of the conspiracy.
Presidents are manipulated puppets of the conspiracy.
The conspiracy manipulates anyone with a high political position.
The conspiracy grooms world leaders.
Agents of the conspiracy are planted everywhere, in all levels of society.
The conspiracy kills anyone who might expose their plans in ways that no one would suspect are actually murder.
The conspiracy follows/uses the Kabbalah.
Literally all of these were claimed in The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, an antisemitic hoax used by the Okhrana to justify violence against Russian Jews. It was used by Nazi Germany to justify the Holocaust, and today it still serves as the blueprint for most conspiracy theories - even if modern conspiracy theorists try to hide it, downplay it, or rationalize it with another, equally absurd conspiracy theory.

The way that I’m brainrotting over a DCxDP crossover with a Danny who’s a vengeful villain rn
Like, let’s just say that the GiW finally get into contact with the JL. They need help neutralizing a threat, you see, and they’re on their last limb trying to keep civilians safe.
They have video evidence! They have studies to back their claims! The JL have to help them!
Unfortunately, the JL believe them. They join a fight against Danny, and defeat him due to being far more experienced than he is. Danny is locked away and experimented on by the GiW.
That would CHANGE a person. Your heroes turning against you and seeing you as a monster, being experimented on for who knows how long, not knowing if your friends and family are safe.
Danny gets out due to a simple mistake on the GiW’s part; having Blüdhaven as part of their transport route.
Of course the trucks were attacked, they’re government property!
So now, whoever decided to raid the government transport trucks (the Penguin or something) has a ton of experimental weapons with no idea how they work, and a heavily traumatized teenager.
Danny knows how they work. Danny can be useful! They won’t throw him out if he’s useful! And so, now Danny is working for the Penguin, altering the ectoplasm weapons to make them work on humans.
It’s a good deal for both parties. Danny gets to neurotically imprint on the Penguin like a small baby animal, and the Penguin gets a brilliant mind who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
But eventually, Danny finds out what happened to his family in his absence.
Jazz is in Arkham. Not as a psychologist, but as a “patient.” Apparently, she snapped and completely destroyed the house, leveled a few blocks of Amity Park, and conducted organized attacks on government bases (mostly GiW) for months.
Sam and Tucker helped her, eventually splitting once Jazz was captured. Sam travels to areas of extreme pollution, completely overgrowing them with her plant powers. Currently she’s in the Amazon rainforest, engaging in an ongoing feud with logging companies. Sam is winning.
Tucker faked his death, and Danny has no idea where he is. He only knows that the death wasn’t real because of a code that the three of them made together, just in case.
Ellie’s trapped in the Infinite Realms. Danny had a failsafe in place so that if she was ever cornered by the GiW, she would be sent to her haunt in the GZ. However, with the portal destroyed, she can’t come back. Danny just hopes she’s okay.
His parents are now top GiW scientists. They’re traveling the country giving speeches. They’re working on a battery powered by ectoplasm, but apparently started “having difficulties” around the same time that Danny escaped.
None of it is fair. None of it is right.
The Justice League destroyed his life, the lives of his friends, and they’re doing as good as ever. The GiW is respected, and his parents are happily working away for them.
Danny takes up some of his more experimental weapons and breaks Jazz out of Arkham. She’s a little different now, colder and more quiet, but she still loves him all the same. It’s an unimaginable comfort to him to see his sister again.
He can’t use his powers anymore. He’s so used to associating them with pain that even transforming into his ghost form is enough to take him down for hours.
However, he understands ectoplasm more than anyone else in the world. He knows how to use it in virtually everything; how it can become a weapon, how it can be used as a supplemental ingredient in poisons and nerve agents, how it can twist and distort the mind if applied correctly.
He doesn’t care what happens to him. He’s going to take down the GiW, and destroy the lives of the JL members who helped lock him away, just as they did to him.
No matter the cost.

New One Piece Theory Inspired by Greek Mythology
Remembering Greek Mythology in play, after Ouranos was overthrown by Kronos, Kronos' reign didn't last all that long and was seized by none other than Zeus, whose reign is the most detailed.
Zeus divided the Earth between himself, Poseidon, and Hades; Poseidon and Hades correspond to Neptune and Pluton.
Oda may very well replicate something similar to that while cutting out the middle man by having it that while the Ancient Weapons are in an all out attack with Neptune and Pluton either destroying or severely damaging Uranus, Ju Peter will see that as the perfect opportunity to attempt to seize power and attempt to backstab Imu.

Due to The Aldmeri Dominion taking the place of The World Government I think Spandam and The CP9 would be Altmer as would The Celestial Dragons
I also think that Arlong and all other fishmen would be Maormer

"[I]t is also very symbolic that the World Government is hardly afraid of anyone, but fears the archaeologists of Ohara working in a library, suggesting that knowledge and questioning of taken-for-granted truths can be more powerful than military strength."
