#the tragedy is important to me yknow

what attracts me to the transfemme fitzjames headcanon is that it has potential to add another layer of tragedy to his story. like he never had the chance to even consider who he was or what he wanted; he died before he could even explore the options. he never got to pull off the mask—he lived a man, he died a man, and he is remembered a man. the end of vanity came too late for him

I haven't watched Dungeon Meshi yet and I'm already so invested because of you fucks. And it's ongoing so I can't even look up the ending. If the lesbians don't get a happy ending I'll cry.

I finally got to thriller bark and of course I'm having many feelings about it, so long ramble ahead. what makes this kind of sacrifice have so much impact narrative-wise is precisely bc of which character does it and imo there was no better choice than zoro.
while his life was certainly in danger, zoro still joined luffy's crew in way less dire circumstances than most of the other straw hats and he's someone that luffy actively sought out to embark his journey with. zoro's dream of becoming of the world's greatest swordsman is one that matches luffy's own of becoming king of the pirates. this doesn't lessen the importance of the crew's dreams, but imo it's clear that there's a reason why zoro's the first to join. why luffy trusts him to take care of everyone and lead them when he's otherwise busy fighting the biggest bads, incapacitated or just not present for whatever reason and why zoro does exactly that. why, for example, he trusted zoro's judgment abt usopp coming back even though luffy was initially ready to accept him without even an apology needed.
another thing to note, which I don't think is a coincidence either, is that zoro's either been mistaken for the captain or has left ppl wondering why he isn't more than a few times already, throughout the manga. zoro's strong, a very independent guy, who already had quite the reputation before he decided to be part of luffy's crew. ppl still call him the pirate hunter. he's got a dream he's hellbent on achieving, and it's not only his, but also kuina's. he's not afraid of dying for it but it's not like he wants to, yknow? and he's never one to go down without a fight. zoro also admits during the davy back ordeal that there's no point to him being a pirate if he's not part of luffy's crew. all of these things make thriller bark so special.
this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
is zoro renouncing to his dream, his promise to kuina, to his own life - not in battle, and certainly not as a way to achieve the very dream he's forfeiting - and he's doing it to keep luffy safe. bc zoro's absolutely certain that luffy WILL become the pirate king and if zoro has to cast all that aside to make sure of it, he will. this is zoro taking all of luffy's pain as his own while protecting luffy's life and dream, putting them even above his. which, to an extent, also guarantees (from his pov, at least) the rest of the crew's safety. that's huge, so much that even kuma questions his decision.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and yeah he's protecting the crew, but it's very obvious that he's doing this for luffy. kuma points it out, as shown above, and he had already voiced out his intention to leave with luffy's head only, specifically. it's luffy's pain that zoro's willing to take on and die for.
also perhaps you'd think this seems a bit one-sided no? but if you ask me, zoro choosing to pretend nothing happened is proof that it isn't. sure, it's not like zoro's the type of character who'd boast or openly talk abt this kind of sacrifice, but this is what he said to luffy when he agreed to join him:
Tumblr media
luffy adores his crew. he's willing to die for them, protecting and saving them always, and he takes their dreams very seriously. zoro has witnessed this from the very beginning, and also took it upon himself to remind luffy of how much they all relied on him back when usopp left the crew, so that luffy wouldn't doubt himself. imagine how luffy would've reacted or even felt knowing that zoro had done this. for him.
in hindsight, this panel from the beginning of the arc is a bit of a tragedy honestly. (still cute though!)

So I don't actually know. How. To make this post in like a way that makes sense because hoo boy I'm running on like pure pain and spite and I have no actual knowledge of things BEYOND of what I'm reading so half of this is me glueing clues together with bullshitted facts anyways
This is the lore I got from Poltergeist's info, and some other extra things (do note that this is based off my own speculations and theories so uh have a spoonful of salt with this):
Tumblr media
Poltergeist (name still unknown (or maybe I missed it I don't trust myself)) is a 15yo spirit who died in the 1960s and haunts her hometown, which is Broward County, Florida
Lowkey estimate her actual birthyear to be around the 1940s or 1950s but idk I never did good in math anyways
In regards to how she actually died, this is how I think shit went down:
There was beach party that was held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida during spring in some year around the 1960s.
Now Polt here isn't very fond of going outside because of how sensitive she is to the sun
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But despite her condition, she always wanted to go out and enjoy life like how she sees other people do in tv.
Tumblr media
So after hearing news about the beach party, she decided that she's going to attend it, just so that she could be like the "popular girls" (judging by her behavior and voicelines, Polt seems to have low self-esteem and always compares herself to other, mostly to actresses on tv and etc)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Now, it's pretty apparent that Poltergeist died because of drowning, it's even mentioned in her voiceline where she describes what she last saw before passing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But a part of me wants to say that Poltergeist probably died without anyone noticing, or like yknow, people didn't realized Poltergeist was drowning before it was too late.
The reason why I feel like this is the case is because a majority of Polt's voicelines hints to her wanting to be noticed/not be left behind by (Vertin)
Tumblr media
(I have more picture references but Tumblr is mean to me so imma just type out the rest of the references)
Poltergeist Idle voiceline, continuing from the image above: "Oh my God ... Where are you? Don't leave me alone! Please..."
Poltergeist Night voiceline: "Listen! Did you hear that? The ticking sound of a clock. This... This is too quite. Nobody noticed me. Nobody looked over. I... I..."
But also I'm not that certain about it since it could be just me looking too deep into her timidly behavior
Anyways, after her death, she became the talk of her hometown for a short while, at best a couple of years if not only for a few months
A section of her 03 story interview:
Pandora Wilson: Could you tell me about tour hometown? I mean, Broward County?
Poltergeist: ...Everyone forgot about me...
Poltergeist: It was such a shocking tragedy, but no one remembers it now. They all forgot about me, like I never existed...
Pandora Wilson: Is that why you repeatedly returned to your hometown?
After seeing how she's forgotten by everyone, she returned to her hometown as a poltergeist and started to haunt people at random (there's no actual reference or mention of who she haunts so I'm just assuming it's just the county in general)
A paragraph from her 02 story:
According to the investigation record of the police in Broward County, Florida, theblocal poltergeist incidents which took place from 1960-1965 had the following similarities:
Aaaaand I guess that's it? I don't know if I missed anything important but lemme just throw in trivia facts about Poltergeist in here:
- she mentions that she has a mom but never mentions about her dad at all so I assume that her mom is a single mother? No hints whether her dad is dead, alive or a secret third option so this is the safest assumption.
- apparently??? The octopus in her hair and around her leg is also a ghost???? It was mentioned as her second item. either it points to Poltergeist being dead for a long while before returning as a spirit or something else, I have no real clue
- it's mentioned that Poltergeist picked up a third leg somewhere, specifically she "dig it". I'm just gonna guess that she picked up someone else's leg that was on the ocean floor (apparently there were a lot of drowning cases at Fort Lauderdare so it's not that surprising to find more bodies down there. I'm just curious as to why Poltergeist even took someone's leg while also forgetting that people only have 2 legs.)
And I think that's all that I have. Again, this is just my own speculations and theories, and uh yeah I guess that's all that I can find about Poltergeist from the hit game Reverse 1999. Hey Bluepoch you better give more Poltergeist content soon you better-

This is my sweet spoiled Princess Polly Toad.
It's felt like everything in my life has gone to shit for a long time now. From people lost to tragedy, to the stress and struggles that seem to never end but somehow still manage to surprise me in getting worse.
But this chonkers little lady is one of the things that keeps me going. Like, I have other reasons, of course. But the impact Polly has had on me is so strong. She just feels right, yknow? Like when I had newts, that felt right. When I had snails, they were SO right for me and I miss having them so much. Polly has filled a pet ownership void in my heart.
Like, all the awful shit going on around me, I can forget about it for just a little bit when she wakes up in the evening and I just sit and watch her for a little bit before bed.
I wish I could tell her how important she is to me. and how much I love her.

Hi hello spoilers for the ENTIRETY of riptide (specifically episodes 78, 93, 110, tho the entire campaign ep1-ep115 is talked about here) and also. A read more since this is a very. Very. Long post. And i dont intend to colour of the sky you <3
Yknow im just thinkin like ik the common theory is that chips the nameless prince and im still pretty in agreement but im also. Thinking.
Bc i relistened to episode 78 where goobleck finds the book on the nameless prince. (32:35ish) And id basically entirely forgotten abt it until i relistened to 93, heard charlies sparknotes version n wanted to listen 2 it for myself. And like.
Im pretty sure, unless im interpreting grizzlys words wrong, that the nameless prince is whatever entity was mentioned in the 110 prophecy ?
Tho its hard because. He gave a summary of what the book was about since goobleck didnt properly read it i think he just kinda. Skimmed. And he started by saying that the book is about a prince, a self proclaimed prince at that, but mostly just an entity born in the abyss. So im not sure if that entity is the same person as the prince or if theyre two different people ???? But for the sake of Thinking ill say theyre the same bc i dont see why they wouldnt be.
But he goes on to say that this book talks about this abyss entity, and how it became obsessed w spreading corruption in a world of mostly peace. And how it wants to learn about the inhabitants of this world (?) And then the book ends in chaos and tragedy, where the entire world falls to corruption. The entity destroys all living things ("this race of living creatures") and then consumes even more worlds by spreading its abyss corruption. And how its also almost. Parasitic.
So. This sounds a lot like the 110 entity.
"An entity threatens world stability / caged in the deepest layers of infinity [...] forboded calamity, the chosen is warned / the shape of all life shall take a new form / its choice to be made with no time to mourn"
Definitely sounds like this entity is the same, it threatens world stability by spreading its corruption, and this infinity could be the abyss. The shape of all life line draws my attention tho bc of how grizzly described the entity as destroying "this race of living creatures" and like a parasite.
Althoughhhhh i will have to relisten to. The just rolled for episode 93 because i think it was then that the 3 players made their guesses as to who the guarding giant, nameless prince and unborn kings are and grizzly said One was correct. I know they guessed arlin as the guarding giant and i think niklaus chip or rose's kid were other guesses perhaps ? Tho im not sure as to Where they fit each.
[HI HELLO i have now relistened to the rolled for 93. Condi guessed Arlin as the guarding giant, Chip as the nameless prince and Rose's Kid as the unborn kings. Only 1 of these is correct]
Ill also have to relisten to the stone age what if. Because even though that what if probably doesnt contain much thatd be important since. Its a what if. And it was back in the desire arc. The ending of it reminds me a bit of the nameless prince section where the entity destroys more worlds by spreading its corruption. Andddddd yea if that what if means anything at all then that could suggest niklaus as the entity or the nameless prince ?
Something else that gets me though is the legend lore scroll itself. We all know about the guarding giant nameless prince and unborn kings but. What i keep thinkin on is the beginning and end:
"A map that is a guide and a key / passed around the hands of destiny / it leads to chaos infinity / beneath the seas / the guardian giant / the nameless prince / the unborn kings / all wait to be inevitably free"
The very end with the "inevitably free" sounds like. One line of the 110 prophecy ("its release in time an inevitability" IT being the entity) and niklaus' greatest desire: freedom.
There is a consistent theme of freedom throughout riptide - or instead, a need/want for it. Gillion and jay both work towards freedom from the elders and navy respectively, islands (and casinos) early campaign all wanted freedom from various curses, pirates strive to create freedom from the navys rule, navys claim to strive to create a world free of "chaos".
However, across the nameless prince skim read, the legend lore scroll, and the 110 prophecy, there are manyyyy many parallels between them. Parallels, which i spent about 2 hours brainrotting about yesterday
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has been a couple days since i have made this biggg graphic and ive had a lotta time to dwell on this all and think. Because there are definitely many reasons why chip could be the nameless prince - and like a lotta other people i Know he has a bigger role in the world of mana than it seemed at first. However, i do feel like that role isnt the role of the nameless prince.
I mean, i probably have forgotten some evidence since i havent rewatched the ENTIRE campaign in a littleeee bit, just random episodes i think would have points of interest. But so far, we dont exactly know a whole lot about the nameless prince, only that whoever it is, is waiting to be free, could be whatever entity these poems and texts talk of, and has links to the hole in the sea. There were also a lot of details in the hole during episode two of the oneshot, which could be linked back to the prince. Lemme justtttt. Get the notes i took during my rewatch of it.
So, on the staircase where the three had their flashbacks, there were a few engravings in the wall. Some were words in abyssal primordial which read "what do you desire", others were depictions of humanoids with gems and coins, some were depictions of slavery + power. However, one stood out to finn since whilst the others repeated, this one was unique and singular. And it was the mountain with a crown above it.
This ofc could be passed off as mostly unimportant since it appeared so very early in the campaign, but we all know grizzlys dming and worldbuilding style isnt like that - everything thats been mentioned so far has been important in some way or another, and events from incredibly early episodes still affect the present day.
Although, unfortunately, i am Not Smart. And dont really know what this could Mean.
Weve seen a few mountains throughout the campaign, and none that instantly feel connected to that. Theres the mountain they all climbed in 111 of course, but that just housed those ice pirates, not anything much to do with a prince. It did also make me think of edison kingdom, since that has a monarchy and is a stacked city, howeverrrrr i doubt it would be that since. I dont see the relevance.
The crown is of course the only part here we can really connect to anything, that being the nameless prince. Since, they are a PRINCE afterall (although i do think these names are more metaphorical than literal). There ARE other places throughout the campaign crowns appear (once again, edison, and queen) though i doubt the edison kingdom would be so important to what feels like personal riptide pirate story, and queen didnt exist much as a character until they were introduced in episode like. 80smth. And their name is only queen bc charlie started the bohemian rhapsody bit.
SOOO yea basically. Summed up. Shits addin up. And also not addin up. I have lots of thoughts on this stuff, howeverrrr like ive said before im. Not very good at analysing. And also not the most articulate either. All in all, i think chip could possibly not be the nameless prince, and whoever the nameless prince IS could be whatever entity has been mentioned around a lot. The end. Goodbye. Thanks 4 readin. Love u.

That TCU post…that is truly one of, if not the greatest thing I’ve ever seen come out of this fandom. I tried my own hand a while back at writing “the dsmp but taken seriously”; gave it a name and a playlist but didn’t really write much before I went back to my other projects. If you ever have the motivation to do more with that outline I’d be honored to be a co-writer or help out in any way, or if you want you could just use my title as a name for the series: A Ballad of Broken Dreams.
holy crap op this is so sweet. Thank you so much. I’m… wow ok. That. Wow. Thank you. That’s legitimately so kind and I’m so glad you enjoyed it XD. Id also Love to see your playlist and your thoughts behind the songs if you’re down?! That sounds awesome :D
funnily enough, I’ve had a drafted outline for this heccin thing running around in my head since the Butcher Army arc. Right around when SAD-ist dropped her animatic, I simultaneously realized ‘oh wow, I Adore this concept’ and ‘oh wow, I Highly doubt the CCs are gonna manage to do this the way I’d want to see it’ and lo and behold: I was correct. So painfully correct. (There were also People Involved whom I had Really Bad Feelings About from very early on that, sure enough, turned out to be exactly what i thought they were, rip) So the Emduo prequels, Icarus heccin Dying, and the end of Axe of Peace have been around for Ages.
I’d honestly love to do more with this concept, (i am designing movie posters as we speak) but due to Chronic Illness Pog I’m in a rather unstable financial situation? And don’t have a ton of free time for art. Any big projects are gonna take a While, or id need to find a way to use it or something adjacent to fund, y’know, Rent. That being said, I’m definitely writing the emduo prequels, both as movie scripts and as novels, as those are the films focused on, yknow, My Bois. I also think it’d be hilarious to release the novels and then the scripts and watch people Loose Their Minds over the ‘inaccurate adaptation >>:(‘
I’d absolutely love to work with other people in the fandom on this stuff, though I’ve never been the best at directly co-writing (my writing method and style is painfully specific (ie needlessly poetic) and I’m very autistic: I don’t like it when people touch that Specific Thing) but literally anything else? Im open ears. I love collabs.
and finally, I adore your name for the series, (excellent word choice there /srs, it fits perfectly with the symbolism of the whole story) and I think it works really Really well for the actual DSMP, but if I’m entirely honest… I’m not sure it fits the TCU? Like genuinely I’m so grateful for the suggestion, I love when people offer ideas and bounce things around like that. But one of the main things I tried to do with this concept was work out how the story could actually end Well. A deep-seated belief in the good-but-fallen nature of man, the importance of hope, and the inevitability of redemption kinda comes part and parcel with the whole Being-A-Christian Thing (if it doesn’t, you’re missing the Whole Point Of The Bible) and while the actual DSMP may have ended in broken dreams… this doesn’t. That was my first thought when writing that outline: This Is Going To End Well. Not for wish-fulfillment reasons, not because I’m naive or I don’t like bad endings, but because fundamentally, everything sad is a lie, and if the story has ended in tragedy, it hasn’t ended yet.
If I had to pick a series name now, I’m not sure what I’d pick. A part of me balks at referencing anything popularized by Our Local Redacted, but ‘unfinished symphony’ wasn’t his in the first place, it was from Hamilton. “The Finished Symphony” has a cool ring to it? I dunno. If anyone else has ideas please feel free to toss them in here aight, I’m not settling on anything for a While.
Anyways, thanks for Ted talking with me, drink water 💜

thoughts on frieren
Speaking of landscapes, I'm reminded of an anime that I'm actually into right now, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End that follows an elf who was one of the adventurers who defeated the demon king (yknow like how it is in most isekai/fantasy animes, where the hero needs to kill the demon king etc). But the story starts off almost a century after that. It's hard to put to words why I enjoy it so much so I tried looking around to see if people could explain why and some of it resonated. The main character is an elf, so they live very, very long... They almost never have kids and are described as pretty asexual/aromatic/apathetic beings, and are rather far and few between. The show kinda shows the parallels of who she used to be and who she's learning to become. In her original party, she was distant, inconsiderate and didn't think much about relationships/bonds/connections and the value of time or mortality. But after the hero died (as an old man), it hit her that she never really got to know him nor took the time to, and now she will never get to. It kinda spurred her on her own journey to reconnect and retrace her past journey and the story has her coming to a better understanding of human mortality and her past and present companions. You see how she's come to not only appreciate but understand and try to pass it on to the people that she meets. You see her making an effort to connect with others and the parallels of how she used to behave in similar situations. Also, from our perspective as the viewer, whenever they show flashbacks of her interactions with the hero, you can obviously tell that he loved her (romantically) but she did not understand nor acknowledged his gestures, and that really adds an extra layer of tragedy (bro literally proposed to her and she's like "orh whatever")
She's so old, and she's seen so many wars, that very little fazes her. You can really see how in the scope of her life, many things that might seem so large and momentous to us, is just a passing event for her. And something about that just makes me see the wider scope of things (and also understand why she’s so apathetic and uninvolved in conflicts). Something about the way the anime SHOWS the passage of time (literally weeks and months can go by in a single episode), just really speaks to me. The daily, quiet living. Living. Being. Since she lives for such a long time, she's kinda unfazed by the passing of time (something I'm terrified of) and the show often has her party stay in a place for a while (months sometimes) to carry out tasks, and to see the weeks go by in such a calm, steady and gentle way makes made me feel like...it's okay that time passes, you're not losing it, you're gaining experiences and forging or reinforcing connections. It's the gentleness of time that I'm hit with, I guess. And the kindness that can come with age and experience. It keeps going, and you keep going, and it’s okay. And in the meantime, there's so much beauty to take in (the landscapes and ost in the show really capture that)
But it also made me think of how precious that time is when she realises how quickly her companions have grown (one of them, she basically raised as a kid and she was suddenly struck by huh, she's so tall now). And also the importance and value of legacies. The hero who died was kind and selfless etc, and she often brushed aside his behaviour and she clearly thought they were meaningless. Yet now, you realise so much of what motivates her is him, and the person he was. I feel like she's learning how to preserve, honor and pass on his legacy through the new events she. You see her passing on his kindness in her own way, and in doing so, reconnecting and keeping the memory of him alive. Before her other old companion died, he was afraid because he knew that there was no one left to remember his life and she was the only one left to have witnessed all his triumphs and failures. And she promised him that she will continue to praise him even after he’s gone. Idk this anime evokes such an abstract but profound emotion in me (and clearly many others because it's quite a popular anime) that makes me feel ...almost peaceful? Emotional? Beyond my being? It makes me think of the past, present and future but not in a way that is terrifying, but almost poignant and gentle. I should've just googled it cuz someone described it like: "A profound meditation on life itself It challenges us to consider what it means to truly live, love, and let go.

Yknow what here's a fun one for you: Do they see The Stepford Wives(2004) as mainly a Comedy, a Horror, or a Cringefest? (i'm in the horror camp, it unnerves me a lot worse than the original did.) and for a little queer test, how do they feel about Roger specifically.
OKAY GENUINELY THOUGH-
i think i actually remember seeing people bring up the stepford wives in a conversation about misinterpretations of midsommar, but i'll admit i haven't seen it myself so there's not much i can add here.
i also wanna do on a quick side tangent here. under the cut b/c this is rambly nonsense
so i'm not at all opposed to the usage of terms like "cozy horror" or w/e but goddamn the use of that gets on my nerves at times. i don't think it's at all bad to find comfort in horror, even more disturbing and upsetting horror concepts, but i think it's important to examine *why* you find something comforting. and i think midsommar is a *fantastic* example of this idea.
midsommar is a movie about a vulnerable person being drawn into and manipulated by a white supremacist cult. that's it. i see a lot of people describe it as cozy horror or a hard-hitting feminist narrative about a woman escaping a shitty boyfriend to find a community of people who truly care about her, and to be honest a lot of those arguments are significantly more disturbing to me than the movie itself, haha! because that isn't even a surface level reading of the movie--it's straight-up just falling for the same indoctrination that the main character experiences.
i don't think it's a red flag or anything for someone to enjoy midsommar or find some kind of comfort in that story (for example, i find it kind of cathartic in some ways to see the tragedy and horror of midsommar unfold, especially considering my personal history i won't be getting into here), but i am *very* suspect of people labeling it as "cozy horror" because i think that takes the bite out of this story. because it's not *cozy*, it's a horrific scenario and the ending is genuinely devastating if you're not approaching it through the superficial white feminist lens the cult uses to recruit the main character.
i don't know how much sense any of this makes actually, i just have a lot of thoughts about how people engage with horror as a genre. and like yeah sure there's no *wrong* way to enjoy fiction, but i am so so uneasy with folks who miss the point that fucking bad. because, y'know, not to make any broad sweeping generalizations, but how people interpret movies like midsommar can be *really fucking telling* for how they might handle a real situation like that.
(obligatory disclaimer: i am not at all saying that people who enjoy darker fiction like that or enjoy midsommar would be completely okay with a real-life cult situation like that. i'm just saying that people who look at midsommar as a girlboss feminist victory narrative about a woman taking revenge against her shitty boyfriend............. you missed the point to such a spectacular degree that i'm wary of whatever other opinions you might have regarding gender, race, etc.)

Missing Children cover-up replacement theory
DISCLAIMER: THIS IS JUST ME HAVING FUN!!!! I don't even fully believe what I'm about to say I'm just saying shit because I had an idea and I want to throw it out there! A lot of shit I'm about to say could be very inaccurate, I could be misremembering things, and I'm completely aware of this- I'm just writing out my thoughts and think this is an interesting thing to think about! Please don't take this too seriously! :]
Anyway, onto the actual theory- (under cut cause it's kinda long)
The kids on the walls in the endo basement could've been designs used to replace the missing kids we all know because Fazbear Entertainment couldn't use the actual dead kids without fear of a lawsuit, and a lawsuit for using the dead kids they're trying to cover up is the last thing they'd want because it'd just bring the tragedy back into the limelight, which is the exact opposite of what they're trying to do with the cover up games-
Gonna preface this with; do I think this matters? Do I think this'll ever be brought up again? No. I don't think this means anything for the future of the franchise, or anything about the dead kids coming back or anything like that- it's just interesting to think about!
Here's my evidence please don't kill me;
The original image I made to try and explain this to my friends:

And here's some images I made to try and better explain the connections: (below I say "we haven't seen any of the MCI outside of their detailless ghost forms" but I meant to say "dead kids" in general)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like I said earlier; even IF this is intentional, even IF I'm correct, I don't think this is important- if it was it probably would've been brought up by now in some way. The design similarities were probably either coincidences or just silly details the artist put in for fun- I just think it's a fun easter egg and an interesting theory and I wanted to throw this theory I made in like 5 minutes about 2 hours ago out there for the hell of it! Just somethin silly goofy yknow

I'm an atheist so, like, I'm asking out of curiosity not because I'm offended or think it's wrong lmao but what's up with your Jesus fixation?
yknow i honestly have no idea but it started years ago and i've just kind of dissolved into madness as time has gone on and now it's reached a boiling point and i'm the person that you see on here today saying that she wants to get nailed to the cross with jesus. the logical progression. i think it basically stems to him being pretty much the ultimate "doomed by the narrative" guy when i take a second to consider it. like, a guy whose fate is fixed and steeped in an unavoidable tragedy with a tenuous promise of some sort of "salvation", of being "mankind's savior". something which feels super self-important and that's kind of also the thing like jesus is actually kind of an asshole and that's appealing to me too for some reason lmao i can't explain why that is but here we are. this got kind of winded (i'm so sorry, i just get really passionate when it comes to talking about this) but i guess the bottom line is that i love a man who encapsulates misery and death and there's a lot to analyze too when it comes to jesus in the variety of books blah blah blah and his dynamics with others (the disciples, etc) and i find it very enjoyable to study because i love religious imagery it's like my favorite kind of theme for media so there's also that... anyway yes. i am obsessed with him.

Endgame Archangel Castiel is something I have never heard about and now I am deathly curious please tell me about endgame archangel castiel
okay so first of all I AM TEAM ANGEL CAS ENDGAME i’ll take him however i can get and i’m by no means averse to human cas he’s so darling to me but i just think that
Tumblr media
it’s important to me that his full grace is restored. so archangel cas comes into play with the resurrection of angels and demons aka the emptying of the empty version of postcanon. i think it’s EXTRA juicy if he fulfills the role in the hierarchy left open by lucifer. because rebellious fallen angel go brrrr and fuck mark pellegrino all my homies hate that bitch. anyway i think it’s the perfect space for him. he always winds up in a position of solitary leadership but we see time and time again that he was a soldier and also just. doesn’t like being the one guy in charge. but archangel cas…… now that’s yummy. i’ve never been satisfied with how raphael was treated in the series, and to give my best archangel cas pitch i’d have to rewatch those seasons, but i think that having them not only be equals but ON THE SAME SIDE would be. oh yeah. big time. i also think that the archangels as a whole are such a tragedy within the script of spn that to bring them back together would give us spectacular dialogue. gabriel is tired and done and wanted things to be over, michael well i could go rounds about michael but i think that him and adam’s visage combined would be unique, and then taking raphael and his goals. throwing cas into that mix, the last true children of god plus the guy god kept fucking up and tell them they’re family again. holy fucking shit yknow. OH BUT ALSO obviously he’d be souped up and wouldn’t die easily and could help others. yeah

okay if @roxasboxas wants my ven thoughts you can All have my ven thoughts
most of it is summarized in the Anguis Ven Agenda, which is a character analysis of pre-ux ven basically, and That One Post Everyone Has Feelings Over sums up the general gist on how I see the ux vanitas twist, though the language is deliberatly theatrical to invoke emotion
To summarize: I think interpretations that use ux to cast vanitas as Entirely Separate from Ven are horseshit
So like, ux, yeah. It reveals that there's some Capital D Darkness in Ven, which formed Vanitas when xehanort pulled it out again in bbs. i don't disagree with this.
However, what is very important to me. Is that Darkness stole Ven's own to make itself sentient. It's still Ven's darkness, too.
As I say in my Anguis Ven Agenda, and dramatically imply in the other post, the Darkness still acted on what it thought was Ven's will. That's why I call it "intrusive thoughts." I believe some part of Ven was jealous, did want to kill Strelitzia, even if he never intended to act on it. The thought was still there.
And for bbs, too. If you go for "vanitas is only Darkness" you end up retconning and invalidating his entire character in bbs. He is ven's darkness, came from the same source, which makes it all the more tragic that the two grew apart. Bbs Ven has changed as a person, and so the two puzzle pieces don't fit anymore. The edges got sanded off and they won't click.
Vanitas is in essence trying to return to ux Ven, who no longer exists. Who will never exist again.
That's all that from a mainly lore standpoint. I think considering Vanitas to characterize Ven is also important.
In bbs, Vanitas is trying to be a person who no longer exists, but Ven is rejecting part of himself because he finds it unsightly.
Ven rejecting Vanitas means Ven rejects not just his own darkness. He rejects his anger, his loneliness, his jealousy. He is denying all the feelings Vanitas is made of, and it's destroying him. Literally.
Ven hates that these feelings could possibly have been his so much that he is willing to shatter his own heart and openly contemplate suicide. yknow.
of course there's also aspect of ven not wanting to be a weapon, and accepting vanitas wouldn't have worked anyway because of sora sanding the edges off, but that's tragedy, isn't it? There was no ideal path for those two.
I think that self-rejection, that already appears in ux, a bit. Again, darkness is the thoughts Ven doesn't want to admit he has. Or he had, before gaining friends. He's behind all that now, ysee? He got friends. He's no longer alone. So he doesn't need these unsightly feelings anymore and they should just leave.
I think after bbs and kh3 and whatnot Ven doesn't have xehanort's pressure on him anymore and can be a kid for a bit and as above he just. doesn't feel what vanitas is anymore. and without the pressure he likely won't again. but i'd say he still needs to do some introspection. he's All Light now, but that doesn't mean negativity is gone.
if hearts can grow back whole does darkness grow back too? did ven get darkness from sora, because that's what his heart lacked?
tldr ven needs therapy
as for the future of vanitas, his tie to sora is fascinating. as i mentioned his tragedy is that the person he's trying to be will never exist again, but he can still help, i think. first of all he'd need to accept himself as a whole person by himself, but i think he can help sora.
i put vanitas on my kh4 bingo card for good reason. i believe he'll be back for several reasons that other people have probably outlined better than me, but sora falls into the same trap ventus does where he denies his own darkness and it is killing him. has killed him.
it started with "kingdom hearts... is light!" and then it never stopped which is how we get anti and rage form. he only ever grieves for others and never for himself, so doing a ... darkness trade of sorts with ven would land him with vanitas. if vanitas comes to represent sora's darkness (i'm the shadow that you cast etc etc) and sora has to conceptualize that as a person he cares for then he would by extension learn darkness isn't all that bad and care for himself
i think that would be epic. vanitas was my kh fav before i even knew who sora was so i miss him. kh4 give him to me
YEAH he got capital D Darkness in him but he's wayyy more than that and i hate it when people reduce him that way. Yeah all his actions in bbs were a fool's errand and that's tragic but it would be so bad and pointless if vanitas wasn't what he believed himself to be at all. It's good if he can be more than Ven's darkness, maybe Darkness will even help him get a sense of identity, that there's a part of him that isn't just Ven, but if you make him less than that, I hate that. I'm looking at you ux clickbait theorists.
this is probably. messy. especially toward the end. since i wrote this on my phone and can't needly order everything in libre office. but this is basically most of my ven and vanitas takes.

THANK YOU GUYS for enabling me. thank you thank you..
ok so like,,,,it's just, i think their genuine rivalry is like. sooooo much more interesting than a normal ass romance,, and like thats rich coming from me cuz im honestly such a grand romantic i love to wax poetic about sweet nothings and the other etc. but like. helloooo
true kibouheads will remember my rival poll from a bit ago. truth is ive been that way my whole life ahahah i always seeked out someone to be "rivals" with at school or otherwise,,, like i cant live without having this cool ass person i can both look up to but that also challenges me to get better and always try my best yknow... but like an important part is that i feel its always someone that. Gets me you know. i hope i dont sound insane but . people think in different ways u know and some people kinda see things a bit similarly to you and so you feel more connected to them. well like that. finding someone that is like that to me is..... quite the amazing feeling. some of my friends also feel like that to me; someone who gets how i think because they see the world similarly but yet a biiit different so we can share our experiences...people you can talk about anything with for hours and hours and never get bored. i feel like this is a form of real love and im not fucking joking . have u had ur rival give u a compliment or tell u happy birthday ...... WAHOOOO over the moon
ANYWAYS when i was playin p5 at first i didnt think much of goro (unbeliavable i know). but then when i started doing his social link i was like. um. erm. HELLOOO its like. points at screen 🫵🫵🫵 rivals. helloo. YES??? like . i feel i dont see too much appreciation for this kind of relationship EXACTLY because a lot of the time it gets reduced to romance or normal friendship when its so muuuuch more than that.
for anyone that hasnt had a rival its not like normal friendship,, theres this element of strange freakazoid obsession going on and also admiration and dare i say a streak of jealousness !!! at the risk of sounding delulu i will say it occupies a different and special niche compared to a friendship or a romantic relationship. its a different thing that u cant replace!!!
so yeah it was like. finally a weirdo relationship for freaks like me. im seen...yyyyyes. sooooo imagine my disappointment when a lot of ake shoo content reduces them to just plain romance HELLOO wheres the freakazoid content. this also goes to the other extreme where they make it seem like they Completely hate eachother when like. uh. yeah they do not obviously... like just read the dialogue helloo
also because a lot of romantic ake shoe woobifies goro soooo much (NOT ALL obvs but. a majority). like helloooo thats not my freak thats some random twink,,,.. i think this is more for gorogirls sorryyyy its true. i had the tragedy of seeing Things on google images while trying to look for a fucking Gorb png T__T
i also understand the desire to see him more happy but we cant fall on the "fandom takes guy whos a cunt and draws them happy 100% of the time and then kinda starts to forget canon" etc... happy goro is awesome cuz its so rare. its what makes it Sting yknow
anyways. theres also the thing that i see the p5 protag really differently from a lot of people apparently but i dont think that affects this issue toooo much. thats another can of worms
thank you :3c

Big fan of when character flaws are actually. Yknow. Flaws. Being closed off and cold isn’t necessarily a bad flaw to give a character, but it’s so overdone that it doesn’t feel like a flaw anymore. And then there’s stuff like in Percy Jackson, where Percy’s fatal flaw is “loyalty”— he would do anything for his friends even if it meant the end of the world.
and um. I love the books/series more than anything but girly pop (riordan) that’s not a flaw.
give me characters that are selfish. Greedy. Cowardly. Arrogant. Lazy. Envious. This is ESPECIALLY important for main characters.
@captain-will
thoughts?
Edit: I think that character flaws should have actual, permanent consequences more often— not just in tragedies. Give me a story where everything turns out okay, but there’s one relationship that will (justifiably) never be the same because of a character’s flaws. they aren’t enemies, they are STILL allies— but that does not and will not lead to forgiveness.
