LES FOISFOIS FAVORITE SONG FROM EACH TOUHOU SOUNDTRACK

th01 highly responsive to prayers: gotta be eternal shrine maiden. angel’s legend is good, but eternal shrine maiden just has what the PC-98’s soundboard did best. little beeps and boops that somehow sound so chock-full of emotion. fantastic stuff.

th02 story of eastern wonderland: love-colored magic is, of course, legendary, but my favorite for this game is complete darkness. absolutely masterfully work with that melody.

th03 phantasmagoria of dim.dream: obligatory respects to strawberry crisis to make sure i don’t get mauled for saying this, but reincarnation is my personal favorite off this soundtrack. there isn’t really a place to note this, but the SC-8850 version of reincarnation is fucking phenomenal, too.

th04 lotus land story: blah blah blah bad apple okay no but seriously it’s maiden’s capriccio. that’s reimu’s theme. i don’t care about this mystic oriental love consultation shit, this spring path crap. maiden’s capriccio. the imperishable night version fucks hard too.

th05 mystic square: this one is really hard. romantic children rules. plastic mind is unreal. the grimoire of alice fucks. but the best one in my opinion is alice in wonderland. extra stage themes tend to be really good, but i looooooove this one.

th06 embodiment of scarlet devil: locked girl ~ the girl’s sealed room. again being a contrarian here and not picking UN owen was her. cuz. i dunno. i like it.. be nice to me.. side note, but i love how the instruments in eosd and dolls in pseudo paradise sound.. idk, out of tune? it’s nice.

th07 perfect cherry blossom: there are a lot of really good ones here but i’d be lying if i said it wasn’t necrofantasia, contrarian though i may usually be.

th08 imperishable night: i don’t knowwww this one’s too hard they’re all so good.. illusionary night ~ ghostly eyes, nostalgic blood of the east ~ old world, flight of the bamboo cutter ~ lunatic princess, and extend ash ~ person of hourai all come to mind, but honestly i think i have to give it to love-colored master spark. i know it’s not “from” this game but it’s my favorite on the soundtrack, sooooo.. whatever. my list.

th09 phantasmagoria of flower view: wind god girl. “that’s from shoot the bullet” i knowwww shut upppp i’m not doing side games.

th10 mountain of faith: faith is for the transient people, full stop. the gensokyo the gods loved is practically the “touhou theme” to me, but sanae’s theme is like. in my top 3 favorite songs in the series. those guitars kick ass. this game’s soundtrack is phenomenal.

th11 subterranean animism: green-eyed jealousy. followed closely by satori maiden ~ 3rd eye. literally every song on this game’s soundtrack is a banger. a real no-skip album. but i am fucking addicted to parsee’s theme. it’s like bitter, ugly crying as music. i can’t sing its praises enough.

th12 undefined fantastic object: this game sucks ass but the music’s good. emotional skyscraper ~ cosmic mind is the best song.

th13 ten desires: it’s shoutoku legend ~ true administrator, but i wanna give a shout-out to night sakura of dead spirits anyway, because it’s great.

th14 double dealing character: kobito of the shining needle ~ little princess. but i mean. i am kissing reverse ideology on the mouth with tongue. i love you seija i love you shimmy you’ll get ‘em next time

th15 legacy of lunatic kingdom: honestly? unforgettable, the nostalgic greenery. i love the spacey sound of this soundtrack, and none of them capture that sound better than that. the lake reflects the cleansed moonlight is good for the same reason. i have a lot of love for the sea that reflects one’s home planet, too.

th16 hidden star in four seasons: not huge on this soundtrack, but my favorite song is swim in a cherry blossom-colored sea.

th17 wily beast and weakest creature: electric heritage. what a tasty piano in this one. the gorgeous melody is also present in entrust this world to idols ~ idolatrize world, but i like the piano in electric heritage better. idolatrize world is an easy second, though.

th18 unconnected marketeers: this soundtrack is so romantic. very lovely melodies. my favorite is the perpetual snow of komakusa blossoms. it’s memorable to me for whatever reason.

th19 unfinished dream of all living ghost: i’m gonna choose to limit myself to the songs that aren’t covers of existing touhou songs, cuz some of them are pretty similar even if i might like them “more”, like corpse voyage ~ be of good cheer. so i’ll go with the deviants’ unobstructed light ~ kingdom of nothingness. the vocal samples are cool.

Ok, so it's taking me a million years to respond to this because I'm making PLAYLISTS and I have to listen to a lot of songs I've never heard before, but I don't wanna leave this unanswered for too long.

Here are some of the vibes that I get when I think of music that these boys would like. It might sound like it, but there are no spoilers here for anything in TBAW, these are just vibes ☠

he's pretentious about his music for sure. typically listens to soft, slow alt/indie songs (but like mainstream indie, if that makes sense lol). he might like some of the top hits rn but he'll never admit it. always has to have the aux because he thinks other people have trash taste in music

songs about falling in love, bittersweet love, unrequited love, heartbreak

right person, wrong time type of love. if things were different they would be perfect but they're not and it hurts knowing things are going to end

really similar taste in music to jean but a lot more upbeat, produced, and sexual. he listens to big bootie mixes when he's working out and he has random generic playlists when he's hanging out w girls but when he's on his own or w friends he has a specific vibe

a summer fling that you know would never work out long-term but you think about for the rest of your life

Oh boy, I don't usually listen to albums in their entirety so this is gonna fun. (9 albums really? Too many) In no particular order:

Judas by Lord of the Lost

It's an album made from different theological and philosophical interpretation of Judas as a character. Also it sounds great.

2. Blood & Glitter by Lord of the Lost

It's fun it sounds good what do you want from me. One Last Song almost made me cry, okay?

3. Dreams of the Deep by Aviators

Soulsborn inspired songs are my weakness. Also Can You Hear It was my "walk onto the podium" song at prom.

4. Dystopian Fiction by Aviators

There is a whole story about an immortal god hunter seeing the world fall apart over and over put into numerous songs from different perspectives that goes across four (I think) albums. This is the first one I've come across. It means a lot to me. And it sounds great.

5. Billy Talent III by Billy Talent

First English album I've ever listened to. Still sounds good. Every song.

6. Nightfall in Middle-Earth by Blind Guardian

It's power metal and all the songs are based on the Silmarillion of course I love that thing. No idea what are they doing with the instruments but it sounds amazing. The guitar solo from The Curse of Feanor is my current ringtone.

7. Unreal Unearth by Hozier

Only listened to eight songs so far. I gotta micro-dose on this. It makes me nostalgic for times I've never lived. Listening to it is like feeling the connection to my corner of the universe so intensely that it's physically painful.

8. Yungblud by Yungblud

Some really creative names on here huh. The songs are fun. I have no other commentary.

9. Do pekla/do nebe by Kabát

Yes, I ran out. I told you 9 is too many! It's fun it has some cool lyrics. Probably my favourite album from this band. I don't usually listen to Czech music but when I do I always end up here. Feel free to laugh.

Favorite to wear: my Winnie the Pooh pj pants because they're just *so* comfy 💜

Favorite ever: my school jacket from my Irish Dance school - Erikson's Academy. Some of Most of my best memories from pre-highschool are tied to my time doing Irish Dance. I kept the jacket, it still sorta fits but mostly it just makes me feel safe and nostalgic.

Patton Sanders: What do you do to cheer yourself up after a tough day?

Depends on why I was upset tbh (I know that's a lame answer.)

If I'm upset because I'm tired from work or I had some frustrating interactions with customers/coworkers, I usually grab one of my special sodas (the weird grocery store I work at sells all kinds of international and otherwise straight up weird drinks) and just sip on it, maybe play Minecraft or watch my comfort playlist on YouTube.

If I'm upset because I'm frustrated / have art block / dealing with executive dysfunction really bad and can't get stuff done I pull up some puzzle games on my iPod. Possibly take a shower and blast music really loud. I look for a distraction to give me a little mental distance from whatever is wrong.

If it's a bad depression day I read one of the fanfics I have saved in my "catharsis" folder because sometimes I just wanna cry and then I feel clean again. Idk if that makes sense but like. Soul clean.

Also there's a really dumb movie called Murder By Death that I know basically by heart and it's not super politically correct because it was made in the 80s ish but it's a spoof on all the famous detective novels of the era and it's basically the question [What would happen if you locked the six top detectives of the world in a house and promised them a million dollars to solve the world's most convoluted murder?] and it's just the stupidest movie I've ever watched and I love it very much so if I'm *really* upset and my dad notices he just puts that movie on and by about a half hour in I'm at least laughing and then we can talk about the Bad Thing afterwards.

gose; I have so many lol. the ones that makes me laugh the most are the nonsensical debate night, don’t lie, and of course insomnia zero. so those 3 are first place for me. however it makes me mad how JH always leaves early for insomnia zero lol bc I’m like I WANNA HEAR THE TEA and also someone spill more tea regarding him lol. second place…hmm I really liked the bungee jump episode and the ones that boo hosts like the ones with random games. the talent show one. bad clue 1 was awesome too. so many lol. honestly I love like 98% of gose😍

ahhh i see. that makes complete sense to me. it’s hard to keep up with multiple groups and dedicate yourself to all of them equally or nearly equally. i’ve been a multi since… almost the beginning, and i find myself feeling overwhelmed a lot lol. but it’s also so much fun, and there’s always content to indulge in. i love coming back to music i haven’t listened to in a while and falling back in love with it. that happened to me recently with bts’ best of me.

what other groups have you been a fan of?

heart is getting all warm reading what you wrote about seokmin. exactly. he radiates comfort through his voice, his laugh, his smile, the way he loves so purely. the domesticity!! ajduduejqja i love him so much help 😭 my heart is going to burst

ohmygod little storytime. i was watching ashley ippolito on youtube, and i had basically rewatched the majority of her videos, but i never watched any of the bts ones. i decided to watch her rose bowl concert vlog, and i was doing alright until serendipity started. i was blown away by the song, the choreography, the stage, and i started sending clips to my friends lol. one person was like 🥴 this is not for me, and my dear friend addy @fitmydaydream was all over it. she actually discovered bts in 2017 (right? dna?) originally, but we started the journey again together. in january of 2020, i discovered euphoria, probably listened to it 10 times or so, and then moved on with my life. if i had searched a live performance i probably would’ve gotten hooked then, but now i thank park jimin for pulling me in. dove down the rabbit hole after that. i discovered got7 that same week too. now i’m feeling all happy and nostalgic. take me back. what a fun time 😭

There’s so many people out there trying to give Greg’s parents the benefit of the doubt, saying they meant the best for him, or that Greg just didn’t do a good enough job explaining to them he was unhappy. That Greg and Steven just need to talk to them, to reach out to them, and hope is a great thing.

But I knew the second I saw this shot that they didn’t love him. They didn’t answer his letters. Never. Didn’t even read them. Don’t try and tell me Greg didn’t try. Don’t tell me he didn’t reach out.

Greg didn’t just say they just discouraged music or pushed him to do sports, this isn’t a Barbara kind of miscommunication. He clearly said they forced him to do sports and music was off limits. He tried. From the looks of it, he tried many years after he left too.

Don’t try and tell me that parents that saw their kid constantly frowning or looking like they were gonna cry in their photos and did nothing about it loved their kid.

The only picture we see Greg look happy in was his school photo. Not the one they liked enough to frame. It is possible there are happy pictures around here with him and his parents we just didn’t see, but I wouldn’t place any bets on it.

The only mistake Greg made in Mr. Universe was not being more tactful with how he explained all of this to Steven.

Greg never specified the lack of love, and therefore Steven just didn’t get it. He saw all these pictures and trophies and baby items and thought, that’s love, right? He doesn’t understand or know about the parents who obsess over nick knacks, doesn’t get that these weren’t treasured memories to them, they were collectibles. Anybody who’d still keep the letters, but not open them, was clearly after the status of being parents, not the actual time with their kid. They kept in view things from a time he was obedient. But all Steven sees is the image of a pretty, normal family house, the image Greg’s parents were more obsessed with maintaining than communications with their actual kid.

They wanted him in their life at first, sure, but only back when they still thought there was hope that he’s end up just like them. Back when he would still go to the island, back when he couldn’t fight his hair getting cut, back when they thought he could be the cookie cutter clone of them that looked neat in family photos and would prevent them from having to explain to people what he did for a living or why he wasn’t going on vacation for them, yet again, using him as a part of their image, not their son.

Greg wouldn’t have called all of that junk, when he’s been shown to love collecting and having random junk, failed to emotionally connect or get nostalgic about a single item there, if there had been any love or bonding attached to any of them.

Greg is a loving, loving, forgiving man. If there had been any good memories in that house,

he wouldn’t have constantly looked miserable in it except when he was talking about when he escaped it.

Greg, unknowingly, and only trying to help, bless his heart, made a huge mistake with a single sentence.

“Trust me, your better off than I was!” OUch.

He pushed Steven away the second he made a comparison between their lives. You just can’t play the comparison game with people who were traumatized.

Was he right that Steven got to grow up with love Greg didn’t? Well, yes, but Steven doesn’t realize that. All he hears is the man who grew up in a nice, warm, not corrupted gem attacked house, with a nice, normal, not training just in case someone was on their way to murder you education, in a calm, relaxed, not born a war criminal childhood. And complaining about it!

Of course he got mad!! Even if Greg had specified he wasn’t loved, how could he dare use the word better to describe Steven’s life? Greg meant nothing bad by it, but as far as Steven was concerned, Greg was telling him he had a wonderful childhood, a wonderful future ahead of him, “just like mom” did.

Greg couldn’t have just brought up a half alien baby wanted dead in a normal community, training with the gems, unstable parents or not, was necessary for his survival. But in the heat of the moment, Steven doesn’t think of that, the way he talks in this scene, he really thinks he could’ve had that, that a normal childhood could’ve “fixed” him, and that his dad’s choice was the only thing that stopped him from having that.

And between that and the crash, that was the trigger needed for Steven to push his dad away. The guilt for yet another person he thinks he’s a danger to, and the huge feelings of jealousy he was too ashamed yet still too angry to voice over his dad getting to grow up human. Steven saw his yearbook pictures and nearly got choked up saying the words “more human” pausing with a frown he quickly gets rid of, yearning to be the human in Greg’s pictures.

So many out here are trying to take sides, either saying Greg was wrong and Steven was right, or Greg was right and Steven was wrong, but in the end both are true. Both had the right to be unhappy with what they were given, and both should have done a better job trying to understand and listen to the others plight.

While Greg should have worded things much, much more tactfully, and definitely, even if accidentally, hurt his kid with his words, he meant no more harm than any of the other people who’ve tried to cheer him up, and was right about all he said.

Edit: I’m not saying redemption is impossible for his parents,(Steven Universe is all about second chances), I’m saying that I can’t see it happening. If you wanna be technical about it, anyone can be redeemed. But that’s the point isn’t it? Anyone can change, but they have to want to. The only person I could see being less likely to want to change is Marty.

While possibilities are endless, the people who can not love their own child while raising them don’t tend to be the kinds of people to have a turnaround. Not saying it hasn’t happened before, just that it’s so very, very rare.

These two made it very clear they didn’t want to, that they don’t want to. It would be different If the letters were opened. For a redemption/family reunion to work with these two, they’d have to make the first step. Perhaps they’d get wind of Steven’s existence, and in a change of heart that came in old age, they’d get motivated to try getting back in touch even though they thought at this point it was too late. Perhaps we’d get a shot of opened letters falling down not neat and tidy on the dresser.

For it to work for me, Greg would have to receive a letter.

But i’m not holding my breath.

My top 10 Tales games openings

well this is sure to upset some people 😅 Tales games have so many amazing intros i decided to rank them according to my own tastes. I’m only doing the intro songs for the games, so anime songs like "Kaze no Uta" or late-game songs like "Rising Up" or "Party! Love Beat!" are not included (though i love these ones too)

10. “flyaway” by BACK-ON - Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2

Irresistibly catchy, makes you want to sing along. A really underrated song but it’s competing with some real bangers, so I sadly can’t put it higher.

9. “Yume de Owarinai” by Yumi Yoshida - Tales of Phantasia

What an iconic intro. Lively but not fast paced, sweet and nostalgic. A great intro to start off the series.

8. “VS” by misono - Tales of the Tempest

Another underrated gem- Tales of the Tempest did poorly but this song did not. It sounds like a Japanese version of Footloose, and I mean that in the best way possible. The boppy rhythm makes you start tapping your foot immediately, and you wanna belt out the English words. (this one’s by misono too haha im biased)

7. “Hibana” by Kankaku Piero -Tales of Arise

Love the fast pace and energy, you have to dance a little while you sing the refrain, it’s so good. Even the Japanese version uses a lot of English that doesn’t make sense but it’s ok, you’re singing fast enough that no one can tell what the words are anyway.

6. “Song 4 U” by Ayumi Hamasaki - Tales of Xillia 2

An excellent emotional piece, perfect for Xillia 2’s story. The game even remixes it into an epic boss theme and an emotional orchestral one, which I always love. I know my association between the games and songs makes me biased, which is why I think that I’d love this song even more if I enjoyed Xillia 2 more.

5. “Burn” by Flow - Tales of Berseria

Just a great song, it starts pretty and calm then comes right at you with such vivacity and an infallible melody. Suits the game and characters so well. This song is here to kick ass.

4. “White Light” by Superfly - Tales of Zestiria

So badass. I adore that it’s basically about punk kindness, like ‘I’m here to make the world a better place bitch suck it up.’ I do feel like it doesn’t quite match the tone of Zestiria, which is usually more lighthearted or somber instead of rebellious, but the message absolutely matches and it just sounds so so good. Only complaint is that it’s completely out of my range, I can only sing the “na na na” part but I don’t mind that much, the singer is incredible.

3. “Mamoritai: White Wishes” by BoA - Tales of Graces f

This song, and Tales of Graces itself, are so, so corny. It sounds like the ending credits theme to a Disney Channel original movie. I love it. I wanna sing it into a crappy High School Musical-themed karaoke machine.

2. “Starry Heavens” by misono (Day After Tomorrow) - Tales of Symphonia

This is a good song. I know it’s not nostalgia this time because I didn’t know this song existed until a few years after I beat Symphonia; I only knew the orchestral North American Gamecube song. Starry Heaven is just stellar (pun intended), it suits the game, it carries emotion as it goes through the verses, then rises up into an iconic refrain. A great song to get a crowd cheering.

1. “Karma” by Bump of Chicken - Tales of the Abyss

As much as I love these other songs, I doubt anything will top Karma. Its melody is so incredible it works in all of its variations, from the original with awesome vocals to sing along with to the epic guitar solo in the NA localized version to the emotional remixes like Mirrors or Meaning of Birth that make me wanna cry. And those ending notes? Everyone likes them. Just brilliant. Perfection.

Minecraft headcanons no one asked for

a/n: olcvfgmlkfm this hit me so randomly i dont even know. enjoy!! under the cut due to length!

Rin:

this sweetheart loves playing with you whenever you ask him to! it relaxes him a lot, plus just having fun with you is making him really happy.

he stays somewhere near you, ALWAYS. he’s way too embarrassed to admit he’s scared (same Rin, same), so whenever he yelps or jumps on his bed because he heard a zombie growl, you can laugh as much as you want, but don’t be surprised if he shoots a glare at you and pouts.

he’ll bring you whatever you want. wood? fine. iron? no problem, he’s already on his way to find a cave (even if he’s afraid of caves.. he’ll do it for you).

he’s not very good at building, so usually he leaves it to you, and it doesn’t really matter whether you live in a “house” made out of dirt or a full ass mansion; no matter what your building skills are, he’s gonna praise you anyway.

sucks at parkour. DON’T ask him to play a parkour map, he’s gonna whine and barely make one jump.

speaking about bad jumping, he’s really clumsy and somehow always ends up with the highest death streak. for example, he’s sprinting to kill a pig, but somehow doesn’t notice a fucking lava pool below him and jumps right into it. accidentally hits a zombie piglin (or pigman, depends on what version you play on) and he’s dead.

HOWEVER, he’s the guy who gets really lucky. do you remember/have a person/friend that always manages to get diamonds first? yep, it’s him. gets the best enchants. both on books and tools or armor. he also gets the ender dragon kill first too.

he won’t play without optifine and texture pack other than the default one. he hates it. his fave is faithful and if it doesn’t work, he’s constantly commenting on how the default one is hurting his eyes.

he will NOT survive listening to both disc “11″ and “13″ he hates it. don’t play it unless you want him to cry.

hasn’t played alpha nor beta versions, but he likes watching vids of it! he gets very nostalgic, which honestly bewilders him because he started playing way after beta. sometimes you can catch him listening to the old soundtrack all teared up, or falling asleep to it.

LOVES GREEN PARROTS. one of them is named after you.

MAY I INFORM YOU, HE DOES PLACE HIS BED TOGETHER WITH YOURS.

Yukio:

unlike rin, he’s always complaining about you asking him to play, but he’s obviously gonna do it (because he loves u,, even if he says he doesn’t). it also relaxes him, but mostly, he likes it because he’s able to get his mind off of “adult things” and finally get some rest.

wooo, he’s the brave one. he isn’t afraid of zombie gurgles or anything like that, so he’s always going to caves first (and gets lost because he’s literally going deeper and deeper FDMKFMV). however, there’s one thing that always startles him... cave sounds. he doesn’t scream, but if you’re near him, you can sometimes witness his character spinning or jerking his head in another direction because of it vcxkvnjhbv

don’t, i repeat, dON’T make fun of him afterward. he’s gonna go all the way back to you and kill you (and then go back mining.. like nothing happened).

the perfectionist. always mines all the resources he sees; during building something he also always makes sure everything’s proportional. gladly counts blocks for you, if your brain can’t work anymore.

now, building! not very skilled with building houses, but he likes building simple decorations, like fountains, gardens or farms. despite him always claiming it’s bad, his work always looks very detailed. not very good with ideas of those things at first, so mainly at the beginning he always finds some inspirations on the internet, but later gets the hang of it and builds his own ideas!

his favorite place to have a house in is somewhere near the ocean.

likes default textures. too used to have anything else.

doesn’t like listening to in-game music, unless it’s something from beta or alpha versions (like “Haggstorm” or “Wet Hands”). Usually listening to his own favorite songs on Spotify.

His favorite disc is “Far”. It used to be “Cat”, but due to him obtaining it like 3000 times he stopped liking it. nor hearing it anywhere near.

when he goes out to get resources and/or food, he comes back with full inventory and shulkers, just like a father that’s about to feed his kids. minimum 10 stacks of iron, coal blocks and food. the nearest 10k chunks of caves is already explored, so you better be ready for a long, lONG WALK to get something new.

he’s also fond of beta versions, but rarely plays them without you.

Mephisto:

this motherfucker wants to literally speedrun every fucking game. meanwhile you’re busy making a wooden pick, he’s out there typing “can’t wait to beat the dragon and get elytras~! ★”

remembers literally every recipe for all items and alchemy. personal minecraft wikipedia right there.

he MUST have a fucking mansion, otherwise, he isn’t playing. fortunately, he’s tried building before, so he’s perfectly capable of building one himself. it’s all made out of pink wool and concrete, along with white concrete accents here and there.

adding to the previous one, he also has a great decorating sense. the rooms look very good, space is filled nicely and is both pretty and practical. the mansion itself looks very good on outside and inside.

of course, the main bedroom that’s designed especially for you two looks WAY TOO GOOD. I'm not even gonna start on him messing with plugins and making it even prettier.

his skin is a random, pink anime girl.

master with redstone. everything’s automated, there also might be hidden rooms with surprises. there’s a hidden shrine dedicated for you. he hasn’t told you about that though... >_>

even though he gets many useful things from the swamp biome, like lily pads or that cyan flowers, he hates this biome with a burning passion. if he sees it anywhere near his render distance he’s spasming and immediately voicing his annoyance. hates that specific, “dirty and unsightly” green water and grass color.

he doesn’t do much mining, but happily goes with you if you ask him to. even if he has no armor on, he never dies. NEVER. there might be 6 creepers but he somehow survives their explosion.

not scared at all. he knows this game like the back of his hand. he might, however, attempt to scare YOU instead. on purpose. or accidentally hit you so you fall from a large height and die. if you get upset at him afterward, he’s gonna give you even better stuff you’ve had before.

HE LOVES PLAYING ALPHA AND BETA. he started to play probably around very early alpha, so coming back to such simpler times is making him somewhat nostalgic (even if he denies it). on those versions, he builds things that used to be popular back in the day, like simple towers of cobblestone or houses inside mountains. it hits him hard when old soundtrack plays.

Amaimon:

he’s very, very confused. first off, he’s not used to the game at all, but then, he googles almost any recipe or asks you thousands of questions about how to make things. after some time, he finally figures out that there’s a book with recipes in game.

he might steal your items, but usually, he gives you back better items. for example, you notice your iron pickaxe is missing, but suddenly he sprints into the house and throws at you diamonds.

oh, he’s aware of the existence of chests, but for some reason, he likes throwing various items at you. he runs off afterward, leaving you with everything on the ground.

don’t introduce him to bedrock edition, he hates playing minecraft with a gamepad, and will smash it immediately. java edition is the only help for this man.

he’s also clumsy, like Rin. he manages to do that less than him somehow, but he tends to die pretty often anyway. his deaths are the stupidest, sometimes he doesn’t even bother explaining it. he literally can die with gravel suffocating him.

once he goes to the nether, he doesn’t wanna go back to the overworld. he says something along the lines of it being similar to gehenna or whatever, but. no matter what version it is - pre- or post- update 1.16, he likes it and that’s it.

his favorite biome in the overworld is jungle - mostly because of the lively color of grass, but also tall trees. he likes having there treehouses and always asks if you can build one (because he sucks at building. even worse than Rin >_>). his fave in the nether is blue forest or basalt biome - however, he becomes mad quickly on the second one due to frequent gaps filled with lava and magma cubes.

he likes normal slimes though. he even has a pet slime!! QwQ

he named his pet slime after Behemoth. keeps it safe in a glass cube and checks on it regularly. Behemoth doesn’t know about it doe.

he bullies every single villager that’s within his sight. burns their homes. the only thing that survives is the iron golem because he thinks it’s cool.

plays with the basic Steve skin. partially because he doesn’t know how to change it and that he isn’t determined enough to look for any.

forgets that crouching exist and falls off almost every cliff or anything that’s considered high.

Tommy's Perch (part 2)

Heyo! I know I said I'd do Hermitbur with Elytra next but this came to me so here we are. It's Tommy's turn with the Hurt/Comfort juice.

Also Grian is here because they don't wanna leave Wil completely by himself just yet.

This is beyond weird. Tommy's seen plenty of weird before but this is different. Everything is so peaceful and normal. Where's the chaos? The drug vans? The fucking gods that look two years younger than him? Instead these people have massive fucking buildings and mini-games and capitalism (okay maybe that last one is cool).

Wilbur seems to like it though. Like them. He's weird now too. Calm. He's almost like his old self again, which is kinda off putting.

The older one is currently trying his best not to drag his brother to where ever the fuck they were going. Some dude with rainbow feathers is with the pair for some reason. Tommy likes him. He's funny. The bird-man and Wilbur seem to get along so he approves.

After a few minutes of walking (they tried to teach him how to use Elytra- let's just say it wasn't his thing) they reached a grey stone wall. It was tall, but not intimidating. It reminds the boy of L'manberg. Wilbur lets go of his hand to press a button next to the entrance and the door slides into the ground. Tommy can see the gold and green blocks pulling it down. Inside is a green field with a few buildings circling a small tower. From one building comes a smell of bread, another potions. It was homely. Familiar. Almost nostalgic, even.

"Welcome to L’Symphony, Toms," Wilbur grins. The spark in his eyes isn't something the blonde has seen in a long time. It was like he was seeing his president all over again. His brother.

Their companion spoke up, "Well, aren't you gonna show him around Wilbur?"

"Yes! Yes, of course. Follow me!"

There he goes grabbing his hand again. He doesn't remember him ever being this touchy before.

Wilbur pulls him to a few shops. They start at a whole shack dedicated just to music. A few guitars on the wall, a drum kit, and even a trumpet laying in the corner. Tommy picked it up with a smile.

"Hey Wilby!" he shouts with a mischievous grin. He puts the mouthpiece to his lips and blows. Disappointingly, no sound comes out.

The musician bursts into laughter before meeting his chocolate eyes to Tommy's blue. "You're playing it wrong. You can't puff your cheeks," he explains, "you wanna keep the corners of your mouth tight- like this."

Wilbur makes what Tommy can only vaguely describe as a fucking duck face.

"You look like an idiot."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Just trust me, okay?"

Tommy sighs and pulls the metal back to his face and blows again. A loud C rings through the room.

"Yeah! Just like that!! Good job Toms!" Wilbur cries. There's that big dopey smile again.

The pair continue on with Grian following behind them. The president continues to explain each building to the child.

"Hey Wil, you still have drugs?" The gremlin asks a little too loudly. Grian looks absolutely shocked, but what really surprised him was Wilbur's response.

"Is that even a question?”

Did Wilbur just admit to making drugs in front of a 16 year old?

Tommy curls over in laughter for a solid 2 minutes after seeing Grian's confusion.

Before they realize it, the sun starts to fall. A golden hue is cast over the small country as the trio slow their pace. Wilbur turns to his brother with a much calmer tone than before.

"Toms, can I show you one more thing?"

The boy nods. Picking up on the sudden change in atmosphere, he slows his pace. Wilbur starts to fidget with his sleeve as they walk. It's a nervous habit that he’s had since Tommy was little.

They make their way through the streets and fields of grass all the way back to the center of town. The leaves rustle quietly around them as the president halts. In front of them is the small tower Tommy noticed earlier. It's not very tall, nor is it decorated. If Tommy climbed up one of the trees, he could probably land on top of it with ease. All that sits in front of it is a wooden bench and a jukebox. He was too far away to read what the plaque on the bench said. The part that caught Tommy's eyes though was not it's simplicity but what was used to build it: cobblestone. His favorite block.

A hand is placed on his shoulder. The youngest tilts his head to see his brother standing beside him. His eyes are also on the structure.

"This is-" he chokes, "this is Tommy's Perch. Its L'Symphony's center, it's heart."

The boy feels his own heart stop. Tommy's Perch? As in- his? A stone tower made just for him?

"Awww Tommy!! You can call me Wilby, Tommy. No need to be embarrassed."

"Vice President Tommyinnit!"

"I'm proud of you, Tommy. I'm proud of you."

Look, Tommyinnit is a big man. The biggest of men! There is no one bigger than him (except Philza Minecraft). He does not cry. That's ridiculous!

The water streaming down his face begs to differ.

A few traitorous tears manage to slip down his face and he sniffles a bit. Wilbur made him a tower. A cobblestone tower! He didn't hate them (or him).

Wilbur panics. "Wait- shit. Toms- I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry! I can take it down-"

"No!" Tommy yells, surprising even himself with his volume, "it's awesome, Big Man."

The musician visibly relaxes. Tommy missed this so much. He missed when they could just laugh with each other. No fucking dictators or politics or wars or fucking bombs, so many bombs. Just a kid with some discs and a man with his guitar, making their mark on the world.

He doesn’t have to miss that anymore, ‘cause it’s right here.

The brunette smiles and opens his arms to the other. Tommy returns his grin and closes the gap. They both melt into each other's arms.

"Tommy- I'm so sorry. For everything-"

"I know."

Listening to the Pokémon25 album, so far my favorite is Cyn's "Wonderful" it just...really makes me happy and emotional,nostalgic, reminds me of characters feelings/stories ect 🥺

also Post Malones vers of"Only Wanna Be With You"!! the music he sampled from the game was perfect. Also tbh both tracks feel like they would have been end credit songs to the original Pokemon movies 💫(first time hearing made me cry)

Saw this and of course I had to do it! Categories and Games are listed under the cut in case that’s easier to read or you just wanna listen to me ramble a bit (no spoilers!):

Favorite Game of All Time: Pillars of Eternity. Kind of obvious if you follow me, lol. A close runner-up was Pokemon Emerald, just because I’ve spent so many hours in that game I know it like the back of my hand. But pokemon is more nostalgic, while PoE I really appreciate the writing and worldbuilding and characters. Which brings us to...

Best Story: Pillars of Eternity again!

Favorite Art Style: This is really hard, because game art styles are all so different and it’s hard to compare! I reserve the right to change my answer many times, but for now it’s Afterparty because I love the colors and it actually makes Hell look like a cool place to hang out.

“I’ll Finish It Someday”: Divinity Original Sin 2. There are a lot of things I’m liking in it but damn it is so long.

Big Personal Impact: Pokemon Emerald! Like I said, I’ve played it countless times, my best friend and I were obsessed with it as kids, and I just really really love it.

Best Combat: So just looking at this list you can probably tell I’m not much for combat heavy games. I ended up going with Superhot- a ‘fighting’ game where time only moves when you do, which turns combat into a sort of logic puzzle. The premise is really cool and it’s one of the few ‘combat’ games that was the perfect mix of difficult and fun for me.

You Like, But Everyone Hates: “Everyone hates” is probably a bit of an overstatement, but Mass Effect: Andromeda did get a lot of hate when it came out and...I think it’s a good game? I think the story and the characters and the combat is all pretty well done? But it had a messy launch and now it seems like nobody cares about it

You Hate, But Everyone Likes: Again, “hate” is a strong word, but their was so much Witcher hype and I just...don’t get it. ~to be fair~ I only played the first one, and I guess Witcher 3 is the one everyone talks about, but I was so bored by Witcher that I will probably never play any sequels. Ironically enough, I do enjoy the Witcher tv series. Maybe if Yennefer was the protag of the games I’d like them more *shrug*

Underrated: Tyranny. No long ramble here, it’s just an enjoyable game that nobody seems to know about.

Overrated: Dragon age: Inquisition. Does this make me a hypocrite? I have played it multiple times and I love my DA OC’s, but DAI is definitely my least favorite in the franchise. They sacrificed writing quality for open world exploration, and I would rather have strong writing.

“Why Do I Like This?” I don’t like Life is Strange. I don’t hate it- it’s a cool premise and there are some good emotional moments. But it employs tropes I don’t like and has a lot of awkward dialogue and is kind of pretentious. All of those things are also true of Life is Strange: Before the Storm, and yet I like it so much more and I don’t know why. Maybe Chloe is just more fun than Max.

Game You Always Come Back To: Dragon Age: Origins. The first actual rpg video game I played, and all of the different backgrounds means it has good replay value. I have an OC for each origin and I love them all! For all of DA’s (many) flaws I still really enjoy this game

That Astmosphere...: Transistor. the art...the music...the conveyance of deep and meaningful relationships with very little dialogue...it’s good

Bad Day Cure: Tales from the Borderlands. I adore the ‘Rivals to Reluctant Allies to Found Family’ trope, and the soundtrack slaps. It’s all I need for a game that just cheers me up

Favorite Protagonist: This one was tought, but there’s no beating Commander Shepard. They’re just pure badass.

After Work Relaxation: Stardew Valley. Extremely relaxing.

Biggest Letdown: The Blackwell Epiphany. Oh man...I would talk about Blackwell a lot more because I do really like it (solving mysteries! talking to ghosts! family drama! inheritance of ghostly platonic soulmates!) But the ending to the series...ugh. I do still recommend the series overall if you like point-and-clik mysteries, just...maybe don’t play the last ten minutes or so.

“Back In The Day” Game: Pokemon Yellow. I still adore this game!

Not the Best, But Having Fun: Dragon Age 2 and Outer Worlds tied for this one, because neither are really the best in any particular category but I do thoroughly enjoy them

Criminally Overlooked: Tacoma. If WALL-E made you cry, you’ll like this game.

Depressing Game: The Walking Dead. Jeez, if I think about it too much I’ll start crying (in a good way!). No knowledge of the show needed- I’ve played all the games and have never watched a single episode

Favorite Active Franchise: Pokemon!!

Indie Pick: Oxenfree. It’s! So! Good! Very atmospheric, wonderful characters, fantastically creepy. I played it for the first time in my room with all the lights off during a thunderstorm and it was an experience

Not Usually My Thing, But...: Borderlands. Like I said, combat focused games aren’t really my thing. But this is one of the few fps games that doesn’t just stress me out and I actually have fun with!

3. School of Rock - Jack black is the fun uncle/older brother I never had and they way he is such a good and fun caregiver to those kids in this movie makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME and bonus points for all the rock music ;u;

4. SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD - I have seen this movie 13 mothafuckin times in the 8 years I've known about it I have a PROBLEM ok I just love Ramona and Kim so much ;∆; and I really relate to Scott except if I had to fight 7 evil exes I would simple perish at ex #1 bc I am a noodle but alas,, quite literal girl of my dreams WHERE ARE U ;;0;;

5. The Goonies - ok so I know a lot of it didnt age well being from the 80s and all but there's just something so nostalgic about kids going on a pirate adventure so their parents can afford their house and don't have to move,, I wish I could go on a pirate adventure and bond with a one eyed skeleton ;u; maybe minus the blender hand scene tho... 0.0

Perks of Being a Wallflower - this one is less of a comfort movie and more of an all time fave just cuz it makes me ugly cry for the entire film without fail every single time ;;u;; but its super great for when u wanna let out a good cry and remember high school and feel mothafuckin INFINITE god I should have made that my senior quote WHAT WAS I THINKING

7. I literally cannot choose between all the ghibli films so imma just say all of them ehhehe but top three are Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Ponyo <3 call me a dirty cheater for putting three in one spot are if I care >w<
