OKAY I THINK that’s every major/named npc in the game (plus a Campa i snuck in) minus claunneck, kudaai, and haroo
not going to color this lmao just gonna leave this as sketches, but it was a fun warmup and gave me some ideas on how i can better stylize some of the characters better the next time i draw them
next up is the lamb, bishops, the one who waits, and the dungeon birds but for now i’m giving my wrist a little break
Here's a video of a deleted conversation between Ellie and Joel when she was 17. They are riding their horses on their way to find the strings and he asks her about the moth.
It was originally planned for Ellie to come up with the moth as an inspiration from Dr. Daniela Star (from Savage Starlight) that's why Joel asks about "her hologram-map thing" - because he's talking about her character from the comic they were talking about before this conversation was supposed to happen.
But then the creators decided for the moth to be actually an inspiration from the guitar Joel gave Ellie when she was 15 (that has a moth on its neck).
Which I personally prefer. It has definitely a more personal feeling once we know her tattoo is connected to Joel.
A little while back, I formally asked for an omen from the Bone Mother—one of the Witching Gods of my tradition—in order to help me understand whether or not the threads of personal gnosis I've been tying together recently are "on the right track", so to speak. Later in the day, I was picking up the mail from our PO Box in the nearest village, when this gorgeous White Moth with Scarlet forelegs landed on my hand out of nowhere and spent several minutes just fluttering there, before flying away again.
The Bone Mother is intimately associated with both Moths in general, and with the colors that this particular moth bears. Needless to say, I considered it an omen strikingly fulfilled.
