A Zak Storm fanfiction

Synopsis: Making friends always takes a while, but when you’re a poltergeist trying to befriend an alien who’s afraid of ghosts, this while may be longer.

Why I am throwing a fanfiction into an almost nonexistent fandom

(One-shot)

- This ship is… Quite unusual. - Caramba looked around. The Chaos seemed like a good ship, but its high speed would make the alien unstable. The way the ship would change the sail's position by itself and the skull on its front were also things that scared Caramba.

The newest crew on the Bermuda Triangle had just fled from Marituga, leaving a bunch of defeated skeletons behind. They still needed a name.

- No need to worry! The Chaos is the best ship on the Triangle! - Clovis showed up from the floor. He was excited to meet the new members aboard. - Hello, fish girl!

- My name is Chrysta Coraline Lejune and I am not a fish!

- Hello, viking dude!

- Hi!

- Hello… Robot? Are you a robot?

Caramba stared at Clovis for a while, unable to move. There was a ghost right in front of him, talking to him, and slowly approaching. He already felt uncomfortable with the Chaos, and now it turned out it was haunted.

He was frozen, scared.

- Hello? Can you hear me? - The child was confused. Why wasn't the newcomer answering him?

As he tried to touch the robot, Caramba runned backwards, almost falling from the boat.

- G-g-ghost!! You're a ghost!! Stay a-a-away f-from me!! Stay away!! Stay away!! - The alien runned, screaming, towards the cabin. He locked the door as soon as he got there, no longer screaming, but with a heavy breath, and stayed as far from the door as he could.

- Wait, please! - The spirit kid passed through the locked door. - You don't need to be afarid of me! I am not bad!

- Ghosts aren't real!! You're not real!!

- Yes I am!

- No no no no… Step back!! Don't come any closer!! - Both of them started crying at that moment.

- Why are you treating me like this?!

- Clovis, come here!! - Zak called him. He obeyed, leaving the alien alone.

- Zak, is it something I've said?? Why doesn't he want to talk to me??

- He may be… Afraid of ghosts.

- But I didn't do anything!!

- I know! It's alright, I will talk to him. Stay here with the others, okay?

The child nodded and wiped his tears.

- I am Crogar, and Crogar is not afraid of ghosts! Crogar is not afraid of anything! - The viking approached in an attempt to make Clovis feel better, succeeding.

Seeing that the other newcomers were going to keep Clovis distracted, Zak knocked on the cabin's door. - Caramba? It's me, Zak Storm. Could you open the door?

- Is the ghost still there? - He replied with a jittery, tearful voice.

- Yes… But he's not coming in. Just me and Calabrass.

The teenager expected another reply, but all he got was the sound of the door being unlocked.

- Hey, buddy, what was that? - He said as he entered the cabin.

- You didn't tell me that this ship was haunted. - Caramba locked the door again. - You didn't tell me there was a ghost in the crew.

- First of all, he is not exactly a ghost, he just lost his body. And second, I had no clue you were going to freak out!

- I'm afraid, Zak!

- You two will have to get along eventually! - Calabrass said. They were going to be part of the same crew after all.

- It's okay, I won't judge you for being afraid; but look, Clovis just wants to be friends with you. How about we get out and you say hi to him? - The young captain suggested calmly.

- NO!! I… I can't.

Zak sighed. This was going to take a while.

4 days after that, the crew was already named “7Cs”. Caramba didn't get out of the cabin a lot, but whenever he did, he would take a look on the scenario to make sure Clovis wasn't around. If he was, he would go back to the indoors.

- Hey Zak… - The kid flied away from the sail and kept floating near his captain. - How long is it going to take?

- Excuse me, what are you talking about?

- Caramba! You told me that befriending him would take a while, but whenever he sees me, he flees! How are we ever going to be friends if I can't even say hi?!

- I know you didn't do anything to him, but he's afraid, and we must respect that. - Cece approached and answered the question for Zak. - Encouraging to face it, sure, but respecting. Caramba will get used to your presence sooner or later.

- It sounds like it's going to take forever… - Clovis replied in a bored tone.

Zak thought for a while and had an idea. - Look, I know something you can do to help! - He said before explaining his plan. Clovis didn't really like the plan, but it was an effective way of showing Caramba his good intentions, so he accepted it without hesitation.

The next time Caramba got out of the cabin, Clovis made sure to disappear before he closed the door.

- Where did he go? - The alien asked.

- Who knows! - Zak said, smiling. - But he's not here, so you can come!

Things stayed like this for about a week. It didn't matter if Clovis was having fun or in the middle of a conversation: as soon as Caramba showed up, he would go away. Sometimes disappearing with a poof, sometimes diving into the floor, sometimes flying to the top of the sail. Even though Caramba was actually enjoying it, it was starting to concern him.

- Captain…

- Yes?

- Why does the ghost get out whenever I come? I may not be comfortable around him, but that doesn't mean I want him to isolate himself or to stop being around the others.

- Oh, don't worry! He comes back when you get out. It's just that he wants to make sure you're comfortable aboard the Chaos.

Caramba felt bad for the situation. - That's… Really nice of him.

- You should give him a chance. - Calabrass said before Zak could say anything.

The engineer took a deep breath. - I will.

On the following day, Caramba got out of the cabin to eat the lunch Crogar had cooked. Clovis was around, but not eating, and sinked into the floor with the sight of the ET.

- Wait! Come back, ghost! - He said.

Clovis came back and kept floating in front of the robot. He didn't expect that, and with the large smile, anyone could notice how happy he was. Caramba felt the sensation of being frozen again, but he wouldn't run away this time. The two stared at each other for a while, all the other crewmates watching.

- We didn't have a proper first meeting. May we have one now? - Clovis broke the silence and approached the robot a little. Caramba's reaction was to take a quick step backwards.

- Not yet.

Clovis sighed. - Fine… Take your time. - Well, at least that was a beginning, right?

Caramba was no longer bothered by Clovis' presence, but he still wouldn't talk to the poltergeist.

The talks started gradually and slowly. A hi here, a how are you there, a joke, and it took more than a month for Caramba to treat Clovis normally, like he would treat Cece and Crogar.

Clovis? Yeah, sure, he was very happy, but he still asked himself one thing.

“Has the fear been fully erased? Or is he still afraid but trying hard not to demonstrate it?”

The answer came eventually.

- Hey Clovis… - The kid was, as usually, sitting on the sail when Caramba approached during a random evening.

- Yes? - He flew down.

- I'm… - Caramba clearly wasn't happy. - … I'm sorry for how I treated you in our first meeting.

- Oh, it's alright!

- Really?

- Of course!

- Well, this is not our first meeting, but we should make believe it was, so we can have a proper one! - Caramba was happier now, and the robot's screen showed a smile.

- Sure! Ahem, I am Clovis! I am not a ghost and I like jokes! - The boy reached out for a handshake.

For his surprise, the robot opened, revealing a cute small green creature inside of it.

- My name is Caramba, and I'm a Wahoolian! I like, uh… Technology, I guess? Nice to meet you! - The green alien reached out for the handshake as well, but his arms were so small he couldn't reach Clovis'.

- You're… Not a robot?!! - The child asked, still not believing his eyes, while allowing Caramba to have the handshake with just one finger.

The ET giggled. - No, I am not a robot.

- What is a Wahoolian?

- Is how those who are born in the planet Wahoo are called!

- So you're an alien! This is so so so cool!!

- Thanks!

- You're… Small! And cute!

- Thanks…?

- You look like a toy!! - Clovis started laughing, not realizing Caramba was slightly embarrassed.

The robot closed itself. - That's why I always stay inside my robot. Wahoolians are very fragile, and the Triangle is a very hostile place. - A bit of fear was noticeable in his voice.

The two kept talking about the Triangle, but that's not the point. The point is: that situation made Clovis feel sure that Caramba truly trusted him.

If he used the robot to protect himself from danger, and opened it in front of Clovis, that could only mean that he didn't see any danger in Clovis.

The fear had been fully erased. They were friends.

Every Golden Yellow Object In Twin Peaks The Return Part 10

∆∆ Part 10: The Rancho Rosa logo leading Part 10 is the inverse of the color scheme of Part 6. In Part 6, we had a golden yellow brand over clouds. In Part 10, we have a grey brand over yellow clouds.

∆∆ Part 6: As we might distill from the KPJK253 essay on golden yellow in Part 6, the overarching theme of the episode is “helping.” Dougie is helped home by a kind police officer and helped by MIKE to solve the case files and help Bud. Janey saves Dougie and a thousands of dollars by standing up to the loan sharks. Carl helps Mickey out with a ride, and Mickey in turn is helping Linda, getting her mail. Miriam leaves a big gratuity and Shelly in turn, decides to help Miriam out with free pie next time. A truck driver helps a mother and child across the street. Yellow objects are in every scene above. Then Richard, the rage-filled exception, in his black-painted-over-yellow truck, kills a little boy. Part 10 picks up where Part 6 left off with Richard continuing his campaign of terror.

∆∆ Part 10: Richard menaces Miriam at her trailer home. Blonde angel lower screen left.

∆∆ Part 10: After assaulting Miriam and leaving her for dead, Richard passes a yellow chair and chicken toy. Note in Part 6, we saw yellow chairs in both Anthony and Lorraine’s offices, both of whom are targeted by Duncan’s manipulations.

∆∆ Part 10: Richard left a yellow candle burning and the gas on at Miriam’s. The light here is meant to destroy. Compare with the guiding dome light of the Janey-Dougie household.

∆∆ Part 10: Carl’s blond guitar and brass light fixture above.

∆∆ Part 10: Stephen menaces blonde haired Becky, yellow flowers on her dark blue sweater. Compare with Janey’s light yellow floral sweater, and the difference in relationship dynamics between Janey-Dougie and Becky-Stephen. Janey fights for her family. Becky and Stephen just fight.

∆∆ Part 10: Rodney’s gold ring on his right middle finger as he audits a surveillance log. Interesting that we are shown a Casino owner doing banal paperwork. Compare with the lengthy scenes in Part 6 with Dougie and Bud going over paperwork.

∆∆ Part 10: Blonde haired Candy strikes Rodney with a remote.A gold box on the shelf above.

∆∆ Part 10: Gold pinky ring and bracelet on Bradley’s right hand. Gold cuff links too.

∆∆ Part 10: Dougie’s gold watch reads 12:55. Almost “one,” or whole. Dougie gets a perfect bill of health. Soon he’ll be “100%.”

∆∆ Part 10: Triple lights above Rodney. Triple blondes before him. Gold art, gold rug.

∆∆ Part 10: Gold art behind the TV displaying golden suns and yellow weekend markers, atop blonde curved stand. Golden lights illuminate triple cabanas screen right. The whole mis en scene has the aura of gold. Note Rodney’s absolute forgiveness of Candy, his literal “turning the other cheek” with regards to his injury, is part and parcel why Cooper will deem the Mitchum Brothers as having “hearts of gold.”

∆∆ Part 10: Yellow police line as Ike the Spike gets nabbed.

∆∆ Part 10: Golden rod above Dougie’s head right where Bradley ordered Rodney to “freeze it.”

∆∆ Part 10: Janey’s red shoes on blonde carpet.

∆∆ Part 10: Janey displays her wedding ring as a golden glow permeates the room.

∆∆ Part 10: The golden glow continues ...

∆∆ Part 10: The golden boy in his golden room.

∆∆ Part 10: Golden joy!

Pausing to think about who Dougie and Janey really are and what their marriage means. In Part 14, The Tulpa-Diane explains that Janey is her estranged half-sister. We can see Dougie and Janey as the happy, simple couple Cooper and Diane could have ended up as if they weren’t so exceptional. It’s also easy to forget that this is not Dougie, but a stunted Cooper simply occupying Dougie’s life. Would Janey be this happy with the Tulpa-Cooper of Dougie? It’s Cooper’s exceptional qualities she desires, his physical strength and magnetism. Cooper seems genuine in Part 16 when he tells Janey and Sonny Jim he loves them and they have filled his heart. But will his gift to them of another Tulpa version of himself in Part 18 provide them with the golden love we see here? Gordon and the Blue Rose team are definitely not satisfied with Tulpa-Diane. Her hugs are wrong. Her love is wrong. Diane and Cooper when reunited, express true love for each other that seems genuine. Is it the real Dale that returns to Janey and Sonny in Part 18? And is the tulpa sent instead on the suicide mission to find Laura?

∆∆ Part 10: Golden lights in the darkness. Jacoby’s trailer.

∆∆ Part 10: Gold lightning bolts on Jacoby’s bow tie. Yellow trimmed collar. Brass agricultural emblem on his hat. Warm tones.

∆∆ Part 10: Nadine, flanked by double yellow lamps, matching the tone of the Rancho Rosa logo at the start of the episode. Note yellow ceramic snake behind her, next to the porceline deer. Again warm tones, the warn tones we associate with the original run of Twin Peaks.

∆∆ Part 10: EXT Nadine’s storefront with yellow text on green sign, “RUN SILENT, RUN DRAPES,” and a golden shovel illuminated screen right. The golden shovel project is Jacoby’s form of personal alchemy, and it is the talisman used to heal great emotional wounds in Twin Peaks. Norma and Ed are reunited, marry and we assume that Jacoby and Nadine may find love with each other as well.

∆∆ Part 10: Sonny Jim’s golden yellow sweatshirt over green tee with lemon yellow stripe across his chest, his father, Tulpa-Dougie’s colors.

∆∆ Part 10: Golden lamp extends from blonde haired Lucy’s head, golden and yellow notices extend above that, lit golden yellow lamp screen right and usual police badges.

∆∆ Part 10: Yellow”RECEPTIONIST” letters on brown sign, Blonde wood trim on counter and blonde wood panelling in background. Lucy is suspicious of Chad.

∆∆ Part 10: Yellow sign inside mail truck. The mailman, too, is suspicious of Chad.

∆∆ Part 10: Yellow envelope with the improbable name of ‘Gary Hashimoto’. Green on yellow return address of “PENTES PIPE SUUPLY.” Plus, double yellow S’s on a coupon flyer.

∆∆ Part 10: Yellow light inside Johnny Horne’s “comfort bear.” Recalls the golden orange dome light at Janey and Dougie’s. Also, a rolled-up condom, and a fleet of KDK12 Shining memories. Five dark tan teeth add to the hideousness.

∆∆ Part 10: Richard menaces his grandmother Sylvia in front of twin golden “peasant” type lamps, and golden candle stick with yellow unlit candle.

∆∆ Part 10: Twin yellow flower vases flank double horns as Richard Horne rifles through his grandmother’s jewelry.

∆∆ Part 10: Yellow lights upper screen right as Duncan declares Anthony a “creative individual” before instructing him to set up or kill Dougie.

∆∆ Part 10: Odd yellow street lamp light screen right outside Hotel Mayfair. The matching street lamp screen left is dark. and yellow lit window upper screen right. The orange neon HOTEL sign screen left. Green light occupy screen center. There’s a line of pink light screen left as well. We might have to come back to this later after a more thorough journey through the color fields of The Return.)

∆∆ Part 10: Gilded frame of artwork above Albert and Constance as they have a cute dinner date. The traditional warm Twin Peaks tone permeates again here. Fitting for an old fan-favorite like Albert finding love after spending much of The Return seeming really depressed. Director Lynch seems happy with this as his character Gordon and his muse Chrysta Bell as Tammy observe the scene and both declare it “sweet.”

∆∆ Part 10: EXT Silver Mustang Casino. Golden “M” within horseshoe video screen shines below green and purple lit window grid. The shape of the letter “M” of course resonates ∆∆ Twin Peaks, as does the double towers of the upturned horseshoe. MU, the Lost Continent?

∆∆ Part 10: Rodney wears golden rings on his left ring and middle finger and a gold watch on his wrist. The gold here is the exception as the tone of the Silver Mustang control room is grey. Silver is not worth as much as gold, but the brothers obviously value gold more. They feel compelled to show mercy to Blonde Candie despite taking “four hours” to explain the “version layer” to Anthony.

∆∆ Part 10: Hallway outside Gordon’s room, number 1123. Double golden lamps provide warm, golden hue. Note the dark grey walls.

∆∆ PaRT 10: Golden lamp upper screen right. Room cast a dark gold, tempered with dark silver and black. A statelier tone than traditional Twin Peaks warm. Notice the pattern of the hallway shot is repeated with yellow light in the upper right and dark blacks, greys, silvers, and whites dominating the rest of the color field. Also note Gordon’s preference for red wine and red objects.

∆∆ Part 10: Answering a knock on the door, Gordon has a vision of Laura, with blonde hair and blonde tone.

∆∆ Part 10: The Laura vision is now reversed as if it’s being projected at the threshold. Gordon’s right side now illuminated by a lamp printed with a landscape drawing on the shade. A gilded frame meets Gordon’s right shoulder and another lamp behind him on his left shoulder. He is lit up!

∆∆ Part 10: Ben Horne displays wedding ring in warm toned room while discussing Richard’s attack with Sylvia on the phone. He is still committed on many levels to his marriage to Sylvia, despite their animosity and separation.

∆∆ Part 10: The lights are still on at the log lady’s, despite overwhelming darkness surrounding.

∆∆ Part 10: More warm tones at the Log Lady’s, with light illuminating her right temple. She says “Laura is the One.”

∆∆ Part 10: Hawk with nameplate, badge, etc, plus yellow pencil. More warm Twin Peaks tones. In both Part 6 and this episode, Hawk receives messages concerning Laura. her “missing pages” and Log Lady’s message. Hawk remains silent, but his exposed right earring speaks as if to say he is listening.

∆∆ Part 10: The moon, soon obscured by dark clouds.

∆∆ Part 10: EXT Roadhouse. Yellow lights on a motorcycle. Blonde window frames, in triplicate with 3x8 of smaller frames. No yellow objects during the performance. Makes sense, though, as the number is called “No Stars.”

What happens in the “version layer” of Part 10?

Richard intensifies his violence from manslaughter to murder to attacking his own family. We get a couple doses of relationship violence, with Stephen vs. Becky and Candie vs. Rodney. The Mitchum Brothers intensify their game, focusing their targets on Dougie, but also displaying mercy for Candie. Love intensifies between Janey and Dougie, Nadine and Jacoby, Albert and Constance. Gordon gets creative with some art doodling and begins to have visions. Tests of commitment intensifies for Ben. Hawk’s connection to the Log Lady intensifies with heavier messages about Laura. “Laura is the ONE.”

Intensification comes with inversion.

In the color language there is a diminishing of the amount of yellow and a heavier emphasis on gold. Marriage, love, commitment, duty. The exceptions are Jerry, lost alone in the green, and Diane, not even pictured but spoken of as a person of suspicion.

In the pattern language, we see a consistent equation of right with light. We’ll look more at this later...

Part 3 is other episode with a Rancho Rosa logo featuring yellow, specifically a yellow bulb over grey brand and an out-of-focus grey background. The subject of a future edition of KPJK253 ...

How are Chrysta and her boys celebrating their Christmas with their baby bats?🥺

Awww thank you MJ!!! 🥹🥹 Happy Holidays and thank you for the cute ask!! 🩷🩷

Now, holidays with the coven are definetly a little bit hectic, but that doesn't make them any less fun! Especially when they decide to drive down to Utah to spend it with Grandpa and grandma Campbell. (Chrystas parents)

They drive out about two or three nights traveling and sight seeing, taking a few stops to stretch legs and get a bite and place to snooze for the day, let the little bats get some energy out before hopping back onto the bikes and heading out in their way.

[Also to note that Marko and his baby Kat don't celebrate Christmas, and they celebrate Hanukkah!]

They baby bats love anything that has to do with going out shopping and seeing pretty lights and houses decorated! While they go out shopping with their grandparents their all crowded at each side if the car trying to look at the passing houses.

The trips to the Hogle Zoo are the best part for the whole family. Especially cause they have the Zoo-lights through all of December. The girls and Chris love seeing the animals and the whole place at decked out for festivities.

LAGOON!!! [I know Lagoon isn't open during winter but SHSHSHS Let's pretend it is] the states theme park is a little taste of home when the boys are feeling a tad bit homesick from Cali. They're taking the kids on every ride- at least the ones they're big enough for. Jenny and Annie are only enough for the bigger rides and are thrilled to wait in a mile long line with their fathers to ride the colossus for the millionth time. Chrysta will take the little kids and Chris around on the carousel, or to get some hot cocoa and candy-canes. 😋

Based on a family tradition of mine, the family all goes to the Layton Mall for their Christmas shopping! It's most specific for the kids of course, but the boys don't mind finding some pretties for their Cherri at JC-Penny or Victoria's Secret.🤭 [they also spoil these kids to DEATH I SWEAR]

The boys and Chrysta will split up with each of the girls and take turns roaming around the different levels of the mall to go Secret shopping, letting the girls and Chris pick out a gift or two for each of their sisters and baby brother, before switching parents and looking for the next. [David and Marko like to give the kids any hints on what one of the others fancied while searching earlier if their struggling to find something. 🥺]

They love making caramel or hard candy's with Chrysta and their grandpa! It's an old family recipe that Chrysta is happy to finally share with her own little ones now. 🩷

Ice skating us a rather amusing event to watch. Either Chrysta skating around with a tail of little ones holding onto her making a little train, or watching Marko struggle to even stay upright. Everyone being both pleasantly surprised and slightly freaked out with how good David is on the ice, Paul hanging onto Dwayne for dear life the whole time. In the end, everyone is cold and wants to go snuggle up and nap by the fire.

But the best thing of going to Utah for the holidays was the first time they ever decided to do it, and the girls and Chris saw snow for the first time.

Their big eyes all wide when David opened the curtains of the window in their bedroom, showing a nightly snowfall, leaving a powder of pure white on the grown, reflecting colored lights adorning the houses down all the streets. It was probably the first time Chrysta saw David smile so genuinely and big watching their little faces light up. 🩷🩷
