I think this will go down - not one Turtle can be seen. But I'm working on the biography of my OC and once I have the pictures, you'll get them too - whether you like it or not.
“I much as I do like the “The Hamatos and Joneses are related” theory, I kind of don’t want that to be canon because that would make Cassandra and the turtles “distant cousins” in a way, and I already ship her with Raph. I know it's ENTIRELY possible for that theory to be true (especially since Rise isn't even about romance lol), but meh. Each to its own I guess lol😅”
I haven’t done a raph centered piece yet, and I struggled with an idea for a while. But I really like how it turned out. And as an oldest sibling, raph is like… he’s probably the one I most personally relate too (although Donnie and Leo are still my bois) Like I see myself in him when I was his age. God, I love all these bois and want to give them all the hugs possible. And weighted blankets. Tons of weighted blankets.
Because Splinter was going through something horrific as his body was altered against his will (whether man to rat or rat to man depends on continuity) and he found four random turtles going through the same thing and went out of his way to car for them too. And then he lived in fear of humans because of what he thought they might do to his family and still accepted Casey and April despite that.
Okay so some of them are related yes but that doesnt stop the found family okay???? Draxum got a redemption arc and reaccepted into the family, April has been with the turtles and has been their big sister for like, 8 years or something meaning like half their lives cuz theyre teenagers, Cassandra changed sides to the people that showed her true love and care and loyalty, and Casey Jr. might not be blood related to the turtles but they think of him as family and they raised him. Leo is his apocolypse dad!
Team Victor:
Sorry, I got no propaganda for them yet :(
Mods note: This is the version of tmnt I grew up with. And nobody ever talks about it. Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who watched this. (I also have a game of Monopoly themed around this version)
As we all know, Usagi fought alongside lord Mifune during the Adachigahara Battle. Heavily inspired by the Sekigahara battle (1600) of the most important battles of Japan's history.
So it wouldn't be wrong to claim that Usagi was born during the Azuchi-Momoyama period (which is also part of the late Sengoku, that arguably ended in 1615 with the Siege of Osaka or the battle of Tennoji)
So let's say that Usagi was around 16 to 21 y/o during the Adachigahara battle. That means that he was born between 1579 and 1584.
I'm torn between bring the Siege of Osaka forward or leaving the turtles and Usagi around their 30s
and one of the biggest challenge here is to represent this prominent figures of the time like Tokugawa, Nobunaga and Hideyoshi through Mifune, Oroku Saki, and Hikiji.
Technically speaking, this AU will take place during the sengoku period within the early edo period
It'll be funny to change some parts of the UY Canon to include the TMNT cast, like Oroku Saki's intervention during Adachigahara.
Talk about the extinction of the Hamato clan during the Azuchi Momoyama period against the Oroku clan, way before the turtles birth.
I'm just rambling at this point... I'll leave it here.
I can’t get over the fact that the rottmnt fandom literally rose from the dead in one day, started trending and our spirits ascended to new heights. At least, that’s how I see it.
pov: you're a tired ex-actor mutated rat dad who just discovered your toddler mutant (pre-ninja) turtle has unlocked your family's innate mystic gifts including a bunch of untapped powers your Grandpa Sho never bothered mentioning (_ _;)
“I'm a little annoyed that fans when creating their own human version of the turtles, don't factor in that they are biologically Splinter's sons and as such are Japanese (or at least half Japanese). For the turtles' canon ethnicity is Asian and it's sad that a lot of fans seem to ignore that. (That, and there are five known members of the Hamato Clan that fans can use as a reference when designing human forms for the turtles. It's a shame that they don't do that either).”
i think there's something very interesting about the fact that irl, turtles aren't very social or familial in any sense but the ninja turtles are incredibly social and love caring for others and this is arguably the greatest example of their humanity
