Rewatching The Flash season 2 and it kills me
I never see anyone talk about this— in 2x02 Barry didn’t trust Jay but everyone else did, without any real reason to do so
BARRY WAS FUCKING RIGHT
AND NO ONE LISTENED TO HIM
Iris herself said “not everyone is Harrison Wells” but Jay was
‘Jay’ was there to manipulate him just like Thawne

I’m rewatching Young Justice again and in “Independence Day” I am just STRUCK by how well they introduce all four of the “sidekicks” and their respective mentors.
Like Robin is so at home fighting against villains. He cackles and he almost seems bored because he’s rather dismissive of Mr. Freeze and of the fight. He’s also fairly at ease with Batman, because I imagine not many other people, can tell Batman, “yeah, yeah” in that tone.
Speedy, on the other hand, is very serious. He’s the only one of the four who questions the villains’ motives and he is the one getting annoyed with Green Arrow for joking around.
Aqualad is also serious but in a much calm and less aggressive way. He absolutely oozes respect for Aquaman, even when his mentor teases him about being excited for the day ahead.
And Kid Flash? He’s going full-on impatient, excited puppy mode. He’s so impatient to get there that he allows himself to get slightly frozen in order to stop the fight as soon as possible. And his wide, excited grin is so telling of his generally positive personality

I love early Essek because he is still going full ham on his façade as loyal Dynasty noble, all his courtly scripts and dropping "Light be with you", "under the light of the Luxon", blithely praising "brave folks" with "commendable will" who go settling on the edge of the Ghostlands and fight the darkness because there is not enough room in the city, and it sounds like he doesn't care - because he doesn't, certainly - but it sounds like he doesn't care for the right reason, which is that he is a perfectly ordinary upper crust politician with all the outward aplomb and inner callousness that entails. Nothing to see here. Absolutely not a traitor who feels isolated and frustrated in his homeland, disconnected from the faith, and gradually panicking more and more as the M9 crack his business wide open.

Ya know something that’s always bothered me in Flash? That Jay having his speed suppressed for what— a year? Longer? Had no after effects on him. He was able to just break that mask no problem. Power dampening should’ve had some negative effect on speedsters imo
Idk my brain just thinks of how a limb falls asleep if not in use for too long and has to kind of ‘wake up’ also my whump gremlin brain thinks it should hurt to use speed for a while after it’s suppressed
