Today's music video
"Baby, Come Back" - The Equals. 1968
Racially integrated bands were not commonplace during this period; these guys melded soul and pop-rock into a danceable funk. (Indeed, the band's record company didn't let them tour the US out of fear of racially-inspired violence).
Many of their songs were written by member Eddy Grant, who would later leave the band after a car accident and go on to write several hits, including "Electric Avenue".
