I genuinely am still heartbroken three years later about finding out what an awful human Shane Dawson was and is and I truly still feel angry and betrayed by him and I don’t give a shit if it is parasocial.

#yes it’s not their responsibility but shane made an effort to connect with depressed fans and fans with EDs and was a role model #and he took our naivety from being fucking 14 and abused it #I felt truly understood by him and he gave me hope that it was going to get better #I don’t give a shit if it’s my fault for being emotionally attached #I was fucking 12-15 #his personality is all fake if you watch his videos now #(I watch them through Jake Doolittle who makes fun of it and helps me not give shane a view)#he makes fun of being cancelled he didn’t learn a single fucking thing #and in just a few days I watched one of my role models be revealed to have such a sick and twisted past that he never took responsibility #for and continued to profit off it until he was called out #he catered to vulnerable children he called himself the uncle of youtube #to have that history and not learning from it yet still portraying yourself as this wise gentle father figure to vulnerable kids is fucking #evil #yes it’s not his fault I had such a one sided relationship #but you can’t tell me he didn’t feed into relationships like the one I had when I was 14 #he interacted with the phandom for fucking views and to get the phandom on his side #phandom at this time was an average age of 12-16 #he knew what he was doing and I hate him till this day for it #rae’s rambles

I just realized, Zack can understand DarkStar and Rufus can't? And here I thought Rufus had nothing to be jealous about when it came to Zack

...That is, if you exclude the good parents and role model (Angeal) part... Interesting

For the sake of continuity let's say Zack only thinks he can understand Darkstar because animals love him and he thinks that makes him Dr. Doolittle.

I think everyone would envy Zack a bit, lol. He's genuine and can easily make friends with anyone, even his enemies. Plus he comes from a loving family and excelled in his skills, which is why he made SOLDIER at such a young age. Then there's the part where he caught the attention of one of the firsts enough for them to mentor him. (And now he's friends with all three firsts including Sephiroth, so yeah Rufus would be a bit jealous of Zack for "having it all." (Guess it's a good thing he'll own Zack and the rest of them one day. He can't envy what he owns)

Ted Lasso / Julie Andrews

I have so much to say about the episode #3 of Ted Lasso, but I really want to focus on the scene where they discuss their favorite Julie Andrews characters because Julie Andrews is my FIRST LOVE and it all seemed so significant.

So please, come along on this crazy ride with me:

Roy / Maria (Sound of Music): Something that is very symbolic to me is that both Roy and Maria had to take on responsibility and independence at a very young age. Roy playing football away from home and Maria at the convent - both had to grow up quickly, which gave them a strong sense of duty and responsibility. Additionally, both characters have a strong desire for family and connection.

Despite Roy's attempts to appear stoic, he has an extremely loving side to him, and I think he identifies a lot with Captain von Trapp too. Like Roy, Captain von Trapp is also initially depicted as a stern and unyielding character. However, as the story unfolds, we see his softer side emerge as he connects with Maria and his children in new and meaningful ways. This mirrors Roy's journey throughout the show, where we see him gradually open up and become more vulnerable with those around him.

Coach Beard / Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady): A character that is clearly rooted in the lower-class, marginalised portion of British society speaks volumes about Coach Beard's own underground personality. Eliza is a character who defies the expectations placed upon her by society, using her wit and resourcefulness to transcend her lower-class origins and gain acceptance in high society. This resilience and determination are qualities that Coach Beard likely admires, as he himself is known for his unconventional and creative approach to coaching. Additionally, Eliza's story highlights the importance of education and personal growth, as she transforms from a rough and unpolished street vendor to a refined and sophisticated lady. This is something we see every episode with Beard: he is always engrossed in a book, always improving his knowledge.

Trent Crimm / Queen Clarisse Renaldi (Princess Diaries): Fits him so well! The character's level of sophistication and elegance aligns well with Trent's own refined ways. And both Queen Clarisse and Trent show a willingness to make sacrifices for their beliefs: Queen Clarisse is willing to renounce her position as queen if it means allowing her granddaughter to marry for love, while Trent is willing to sacrifice his job and reputation to stand up for what he believes in. When he is fired from The Independent for revealing his source (Trent admits that he was the one who ratted himself out) it reflects the same values of breaking with tradition and challenging the status quo that are embodied by the Queen.

Ted / Higgins / Mary Poppins: For Higgins the character of Mary Poppins may represent a loving, nurturing figure who helps guide and care for the children in her charge. This may reflect Higgins' own values as a family man, and the ability to provide a sense of warmth and security to those around him.

But for Ted, the choice of Mary Poppins may have a more personal and emotional significance.

As a coach, Ted is often in a position of leadership and guidance, and he may see himself as a paternal figure to his team. The character of Mary Poppins may represent a sort of idealized father figure to Ted, one who is wise, compassionate, and always there to provide guidance and support.

BUT

I tell you, my friends, there is not the case.

Because Mary Poppins is not about the nanny.

IS ABOUT THE FATHER.

When Mary Poppins arrives at the Banks family's home, she finds a gap between the children and their father. He is always at work and worries too much, while the children crave attention, love, and a sense of family. Although the mother is present and is loving towards the children, she is often silenced by the father, despite being a suffragist 😂 .

So, the real transformation really occurs with George Banks. His character serves as a commentary on the pressures of societal expectations. However, through the magical intervention of Mary Poppins, he is able to find a new balance between his work and his family, ultimately leading to a happier and more fulfilling life.

I wonder if this is not something Ted wishes had happened with him, in some level.

And let's not forget that P. L. Travers wrote Mary Poppins based on her own father. In the 2013 biographical film "Saving Mr. Banks", several scenes depict Travers' difficult childhood. Travers idolized her loving and imaginative father, Travers Robert Goff, but his chronic alcoholism resulted in his repeated dismissals, strained her parents' marriage, and caused her distressed mother to attempt suicide. Travers' father died of tuberculosis when she was seven years old.

Loretta Lynn photographed at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee in 1972. Born Loretta Webb in 1932, she was a country music legend with a career that spanned six decades. She had 24 number one hit singles and 11 number one albums, won multiple Grammy awards and was the American Country Music Artist of the Decade in the 1970s.

In 1980 the film about Loretta’s life, Coal Miner's Daughter, debuted in Nashville and became number one at the box office. Actress Sissy Spacek starred as Loretta and won the Academy Award for best actress. The soundtrack for the movie became a gold album.

Loretta performed on the road for 57 years; she finally stopped touring after suffering a stroke in 2017 and then breaking a hip shortly thereafter. But she did live shows until the age of 86.

She passed away October 4, 2022, twenty six years after her husband, Doolittle (”Doo”) Lynn and outliving two of her six children. She is survived by three of her seven siblings, including singer Crystal Gayle.

The Gilded Age's Broadway Divas: Susan Blane (Laura Benanti)

Newly widowed Susan Blane has one purpose on this show, and apparently it's to get railed by a younger man and then get chased off by his mother and have her heart broken. Again. And then we never see her again. The end. Justice for Susan.

Now, I will preface this by saying that Laura Benanti lands outside my scope of interest--she's a little young for my tastes. However, I've always been amused and delighted by her performances, and I appreciate how raunchy she is, even if the quirkyness can be a bit...much at times. Laura is a five-time Tony nominee who won in 2008 for her role as Louise in Gypsy alongside Patti LuPone.

Starting off young, Laura Benanti made her Broadway debut at eighteen as the understudy to the late great Rebecca Luker's Maria in The Sound of Music, and eventually replaced her. She's had roles as Cinderella in Into the Woods (2002), Candela in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and Eileen Sherwood in the Encores! Wonderful Town opposite Donna Murphy, our beloved Mrs. Astor.

#1: "Wouldn't it be Loverly?" My Fair Lady (2018)

Lincoln Center is soprano territory. As one of the classical soprano dying breeds, Laura took over the role of Eliza Doolittle from Lauren Ambrose in the recent Broadway Revival. Her Eliza was older than most (Laura was on the cusp of forty when the took the role), and a delight, I must say. This show is, of course, a classic, and as such is dated like a classic. The production did attempt to give Eliza more agency, and it seemed to go over fine.

As Susan Blane spends most of her time in the white clothing of Newport, I just kept thinking about the Ascot Gavotte the entire time. The ladies of Newport would fit right in at the racetrack.

Fellow soprano Kelli O'Hara has also played this role in a different Lincoln Center theater back in 2007.

#2: "Model Behavior," Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (2011)

A critical failure despite its stellar cast, this show closed in less than three months, but nevertheless earned Laura a Tony nomination and a Drama Desk. Watching this masterclass of a breakdown, you can see why. Set in 80s Spain, the show features Candela, played by Laura, who's freaking out because her romantic interest might be a terrorist. But other than that, he's perfect. She sure knows how to pick 'em...

Tension behind the scenes between leading lady Sherie Rene Scott and Diva Patti LuPone made things a little...well. Anyway.

#3: Laura Benanti & The Skivvies - Passion Massion (2014)

So, I'm gonna be honest, I was going to go with a different Skivvies video, but then I saw Sexy Fosca, and I am baffled, horrified, and delighted.

The Skivvies is a hilarious cabaret group that performs, as you can imagine, in their underwear, and they have guest singers come on, also dressed in lingerie and other underthings. Most of their guest singers are working theatre actors, but sometimes we get Laura Benanti. She was a Skivvies regular for a time, and has a collection of comedic clips you can all enjoy on your own time.

Broadway sopranos pass around roles like hot potatoes. Kelli O'Hara played Amalia Balash in the 2001 concert, and while some members of the cast transferred to Broadway five years later, Kelli was already in The King and I, and since Broadway has like four sopranos of this age that they rotate around, enter Laura Benanti. Though the show and her role was largely overshadowed by a little show called Hamilton that season, the production has a PBS proshot I'd recommend watching.

She Loves Me is yet another adaptation of an early 30s Hungarian play that was also the inspiration for You've Got Mail, so if you've seen that, you know the plot of this. (Side note: Gilded Age's Katie Finneran had a small role as Maureen, the Nanny who runs off with the kids' mother(?) I've never seen it, and that plot wasn't in the musical.)

While Audra McDonald and Donna Murphy were part of the Ladies in Red, Laura Benanti instead gave us the other oft-sung cabaret number of Saturday Night in the Joanna Gleason dress, only reversed in color. Look it up and you'll see what I mean.

Laura was the last person to perform before the Ladies in Red segment, and thus isn't often remembered. But I remember. (Incidentally, "I Remember" is the song she sang for the Sondheim 90th.)

Name: Fred Jones.

Age: 18.

1: Popular fresh boy in school.

2: Son of the mayor, usually doesn’t talk about it due to his father being wrapped up in his own work.

6: Met Scooby Doo when he was a stray in the subway, he gave the name to the dog when he got the idea from the cheap dog food name: Scooby Snacks.

7: Him and Fred are childhood friends, they’ve always been even whilst growing up, which explains why he never got bullied.

8: Shaggy and Velma live in the normal neighbourhood, but they never spoke to each other much as he was not very sociable with girls.

4: The experiments gave him the ability to speak and understand humans, but doesn’t do it much as it could cause suspicion.

5: He wears a scarf because he doesn’t like collars as he was forced to wear electric shock ones during the experiments, he seems to like it.

6: The gang are aware he can speak, but promise to not tell anyone, unless it’s those that can keep the secret for him.

4: Her family started off poor, but now they are living in luxury with her mom being a actress and her dad being a doctor, they do care about what Daphne wants but are unaware she hates modelling and wants to do artistic work.

5: She doesn’t seem to like those popular girls that would bully people for no reason, but sadly she’s friends with those popular girls, and is unable to leave them as they would threaten her.

6: Joined the gang 3 weeks after their first encounter with ghosts.

7: Daphne has a crush on Fred, but she doubts herself if he doesn’t want to be with a ‘richgirl’ like her.

5: She doesn’t make a big deal out of her intelligence, and usually helps people with their grade problems.

6: Seems to question her sexuality sometimes, as she has a thing for girls and boys.

7: Velma loses her glasses sometimes, luckily the others help find them.

Rex Harrison was born on this day of March 5th in 1908. He's best remembered for "My Fair Lady" for which he won the Academy Award for best lead actor. His other memorable roles were in the films "Cleopatra" and "Doctor Doolittle". He died in 1990 at the age of 82.

USAF releases new images of the stealth B-21 Raider bomber

The U.S. Air Force has released two new photos of the advanced B-21 Raider bomber, with one of them taken from a slightly higher place than the previous images.

The prototype of the B-21 manufactured by Northrop Grumman is difficult to detect, it was made in stealth technology and in the form of a flying wing. The future strategic bomber has the mission of strengthening the capabilities of the United States in terms of deterrence.

“The B-21 changes everything. With this aircraft, we deliver a new generation of stealth technology designed for the U.S. Air Force to fulfill its most complex missions. The world has never seen technology like the B-21," said Northrop Grumman CEO Kathy Warden when she revealed the aircraft with a similar appearance to the predecessor bomber, the B-2.

The U.S. Armed Forces, along with Northrop Grumman, made the official presentation of the B-21 Raider bomber on December 2, 2022, emphasizing that it is the world's first sixth-generation bomber. The two new images were made on November 28, days before the presentation.

The new aircraft with nuclear capacity is the culmination of seven years of work in the latest type of stealth bomber and is the first new aircraft in its category in more than 30 years. As announced at a ceremony in Palmdale, California, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, the new aircraft should be the "backbone" of U.S. Air Force firepower and incorporate the "integrated deterrence" strategy.

Even the most advanced air defense systems will have trouble detecting the B-21 in the sky, Austin assured.

He also praised its long range, durability, versatility, "beginning of the space age" and adaptability to new weapons.

According to the announcement, the U.S. Air Force must acquire at least 100 aircraft. The first ones should be produced next year. The estimated cost of a bomber is about $730 million and, according to Bloomberg, the cost of labor on the new aircraft was within the originally planned budget of $25 billion, which is very rare.

As mentioned by Austin, the name of the aircraft, Raider, refers to the participants of the so-called "Doolittle's Raid" of 1942, a daring bombing of Japanese cities that was the first attack on Japanese territory and a symbolic revenge for the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
