Someone bring me to the circus because I still don’t believe the cliffhanger is a real/permanent breakup!! Would it be a cliffhanger if it was?? Would it be a cliffhanger if they didn’t work things out?? Would it be a cliffhanger if they didn’t have one real conversation where they lay everything on the table and solve the problems they can realistically solve? WOULD IT BE A CLIFFHANGER IF THEY WEREN’T ENDGAME? I don’t think so.
I just wanted to say that I love your art style! Your use of color is really pretty and I love the way you draw blushing. Also, I'm curious about JD's other ex Barley I think was his name. If you don't mind, could you tell us more about him? Like did he and JD end on good terms?
Oo, yes! I've been meaning to do more with Barley!
Barley and JD met while Barley was herding the lonesome flats buffalo critters and JD was passing through the prairie. They set up camp in the same area and got to talking and found they really enjoyed each other's company. JD followed on the same trail for a couple of days, doing his own thing with Rhonda and then at night they would camp together, sing songs and share a drink and a meal.
But JD was on his way somewhere so when the trail split off they went their separate ways. For a while JD would go back to that area around Lonesome Flats and see if he could find Barley again but he had no luck for a while. Next time he ran into Barley he made note of the migration pattern of the buffalo so that he could "happen upon" his friend again. So they would spend a couple of weeks together on the trail every 3 months or so and you know..... Maybe they fell in love a little bit but their lives weren't conducive to a relationship at that point so they just appreciated the companionship 💚🧡
Somewhat unpopular shipping opinion but I truly believe jinko should have been endgame. Like these two were way too cute together for Jin to end up being a one episode character!!
Also I do really love Mai but I just don’t believe the MaixZuko pairing is the best one out there, considering that they started dating as a result of being two depressed teens. I’m a sucker for grumpy/sunshine dynamics.
X-Men has always been a soap opera and I, for one, am glad that X-Men 97 is continuing that tradition. I’m LIVING for the messy romance and secret clones and amnesia plots. The angst is delicious ✨
just started rewatching CPD (s8) and I cannot believe I haven’t seen this show for over 6 months. my babies 🥺 I missed them and I missed Jay’s smirk for his (future) wife 💗
p.s. this tumblr account pretends that season 10 never existed and will continue to do so until Upstead is reunited
making one thing clear!!! I think bucktommy is cute and I want to see more of them BUT THEY DONT EVEN COME CLOSE TO BUDDIE!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. i hear something about season 3/4 I die and go nuts bc I remember all the lost potential BUT WERE GETTING IT BACK SO WE CANT GIVE UP!!
the one thing i keep thinking about whenever I hear someone say eddiemarisol or/and bucktommy endgame I'm like WHAT?! what about THE WILL like there is no coming back from this. if eddie married someone else would he change his will? would buck just forget that he tasted eddies blood? would they just move on from the fact that eddie restarted bucks heart? and buck saved him in the middle of an open fire? would they just be like "yeah buck did save my son in the tsunami and yeah I do trust him more than anyone... but you're cool ig" "oh eddie? the man that gave my life purpose and made me believe that I'm worthy of love? yeah he's my best man" THEYRE SOULMATES IDGAF
spelunky definitely predated binding of issac though?
yes, that's true; however, Isaac was definitely the more influential game and laid the framework that so many other games would follow. Spelunky had items, sure, but they were relatively basic weapons/traversal tools, there were only like 25 of them in the entire game, and most of them were fighting for the same handful of equipment slots. Isaac was the first game to figure out that if you stick hundreds of items in your game, the unique synergies they create lead to a way more varied run-to-run experience than just shuffling up the maps and enemies. i know this isn't anything close to conclusive or a scientific study, but check out this reddit poll i found while researching this:
like don't get me wrong, Spelunky and Spelunky 2 are great games in their own right(s), but they haven't anywhere close to the impact on other roguelites as Isaac and its sequel - their formula of meticulously making your way through dense rooms full of instakill traps sticks closer to Rogue than Isaac ever did, but perhaps because of that, it never really caught on. even the relatively scant few other successful sidescrolling platformer roguelites ended up focusing more on flashy combat while zipping through hundreds of rooms across different biomes (Rogue Legacy, Dead Cells) or zooming the camera way out and ditching the platforming aspect in all but name in favor of killing hordes of enemies (Risk of Rain)
