I watched "When Marnie was there" from studio Ghibli recently... tbh it was disappointing, especially the ending. But it inspired me to go back to my favorite creation of Ghibli "The cat returns" and draw this lil humanisation of Yuki :) Hope you'll like it
i finally colored this a while back but never posted it for some reason bc there was Something about it that was bothering me but looking at it now nothing sticks out to me??? so. uh. posting it here
i was posting all my shippy art on my private-ish side blog since i think i’m the only one who ships this particular ship bUT i’m proud of this doodle darn it fjifeoja so i apologize to the people following the tag who are Not Here for this rip
that is. if this makes it to the tag
for those who don’t know this is a redraw of an older picture, but i made it even more self-indulgently shippy and gave them wedding attire laughs
after years of being my favorite undertale comic of all time @zarla-s “handplates” came to an end, so naturally i’ve reread the series more than i’d like to admit.
in honor of it’s ending, i decided to redraw one of my favorite frames from the comic- gaster’s first cigarette after he returns✨
i read that page, laughed (alone, in my room at 4 am, way harder than i should’ve), and immediately went “i need that on my wall.” so i drew it.
side note: why do people never talk about how awkward faucets are to draw? i never in a million years figured the most frustrating part about this would be figuring out how i wanted the damn knobs to look lmao
this was the most fun i’ve had drawing something in a WHILE, and i think it was simply because of how much i love this comic. i pulled up my old undertale playlists (on soundcloud, ofc), got cozy, and my cat fell asleep giving me emotional support (such a good boy). before i knew it, i’d accidentally pulled an all nighter because of how sucked into drawing this i was.
from watching a few youtube dubs and making cringey comments to finishing it here on tumblr, i’ve loved this comic since the day i started it- “handplates” will forever hold a special place in my heart, and i cannot thank zarla enough for this story.💖
