Son of Hermes (Lee Hyunjae x Reader)

Pairing: Lee Hyunjae (The Boyz) x fem!Reader

Summary: You're the first Aphrodite Kid that successfully used Charmspeak on Hyunjae, now he wants to figure out why that is

Hyunjae is a well known son of Hermes in the camp. One of the biggest troublemakers in Camp and due to the fact that he often hangs out with the Aphrodite Cabin, they are mostly the subject of his pranks. Whether it is putting hair dye in shampoo or hiding makeup, he wasn't scared of the Aphrodite kids. As long as he had been in Camp Half-Blood none of them had ever successfully used charmspeak on him, which led to him claiming he was immune to it. New Campers often assumed he was a son of Aphrodite, as you had to admit he was handsome and he had no shame flaunting it, but then they suddenly meet him in the Hermes cabin. Hyunjae is one of those demigods that spends the whole year in Camp, so he has lots of friends even in other cabins. He's just very talkative. During the times that the kids are gone from camp for school there are often little matches between the older demigods. Hyunjae usually sits out of them, he doesn't enjoy fighting, but that doesn't mean he's bad at it. He loves playing in capture the flag, usually he's the one to lay some traps and play tricks on the other team.

Not a lot of Aphrodite children stayed in Camp for the whole year, but you did. One day you were sitting on the porch of your Cabin, having a little talk with your siblings Chanhee and Younghoon, when you spotted Hyunjae already walking towards the Demeter cabin holding a little bottle in his hand. You assumed he was trying to pull a prank on them.

"What do you think you're doing?" You called out to him and caught his attention, so now he was coming over to Cabin 10. "What do you mean Y/N? I'm not doing anything?" he didn't even try to hide the bottle of shampoo, you guessed there was hair dye in there. He had played the same trick on you and your siblings a while ago, the light red shimmer in your hair still obvious when sun was shining on your hair.

"Don't lie. What were you trying to pull?" you questioned him further. For a second his eyes seemed to widen and then words spilled out of his mouth, "I was trying to prank them with putting hair dye in their shampoo." You blinked a few times. Had he just admitted what he was trying to do? Usually he just denied everything.

"Don't do that! Just go back to your cabin." You groaned annoyed with Hyunjae's behavior and waved him off. On every normal day Hyunjae would have started to argue, but he just turned around and walked back to his Cabin. "If you want to dye someone's hair so bad, dye your own." You shouted after him, still perplexed by his actions. "Did that just happen?" Chanhee snorted, hiding his laugh behind his hand. "What's wrong with him, he didn't even argue." Still looking into the direction that Hyunjae had walked off to. "You're asking that when you're the one who used charmspeak on him?" Younghoon also laughed, while leaning onto the door way of the Cabin.

Quickly turning to look at Younghoon, "I did what?" Never once in your live had you used charmspeak before, at this point you were sure you were one of the Aphrodite kids that couldn't use it, so how could you have used it on the one guy that kept on bragging being immune to it. "This is great! I've got to tell Sunwoo and Changmin about it." Chanhee stood up still laughing and you watched him run off to find his friends from the Ares Cabin.

You were still gaping at the revelation of the fact that you actually were able to use charmspeak. "Should I apologize?" you asked Younghoon unsure of what to do. "Why? You did nothing wrong, you stopped him from pulling a prank." Younghoon assured you that you did nothing wrong, but you still felt some guilt for unknowingly using charmspeak on Hyunjae.

Later that day during lunch Eric, another Hermes kid came up to you, "Y/N, did you really charmspeak Hyunjae?" Your red cheeks already gave away the right answer. "It wasn't on purpose. I didn't even know I could use it!" you defended yourself. Eric laughed at you trying to wave it off, you looked really guilty. "Don't worry! He deserved it." Eric smiled trying to calm you down.

"By the way, where is Hyunjae? Is he trying to sneak into one of the Cabins again?" you tried looking for Hyunjae, but he was nowhere to be seen. It wasn't unusual for him to miss lunch because that was the time he normally pulled his pranks, but after getting caught this morning you didn't think he would try again. "He has been in the washroom for the past few hours, i don't really know what he's doing." The young Hermes boy stated before leaving.

The day was ending with a campfire, where the remaining campers were having some fun grilling marshmallows and other stuff, just using the last few days of summer, before autumn would hit the camp.

You were sitting beside Younghoon and a girl from the Hecate Cabin who were happily feeding each other roasted marshmallows, on your other side Chanhee was eating crackers from a small bag offering one to you once in a while. Listening to Kevin and some other Apollo kids sing campfire songs and the sounds of nature from the forest. Your attention was on the fire, at least until you heard footsteps approach. Hyunjae entered the little place together with some of his friends from the Hermes Cabin, his hair was now shimmering in light blond, which was a big contrast to his usual dark brown. "Oh god! That's my fault I made him dye his hair. But why does he look so good?" You shook Chanhee's arm in shock, not even realizing you had spoken the last sentence out loud until Chanhee broke into laughter. "I don't think he minds it. If he hated it he probably would have already been at your cabin to complain." Changmin who was sitting next to Chanhee told you. You let your eyes follow Hyunjae who was sitting down a little further away from you, but quickly pretended you didn't when you made eye contact as he sat down.

You tried your best to avoid more eye contact with Hyunjae, but somehow still caught yourself glancing into his direction once in a while. As Changmin said, he really didn't seem angry, he was constantly joking around and laughing with his friends, even once singing a duet with Kevin while lightly swinging from side to side. When the night came and it got dark, you felt yourself grow tired and yawned a few times before excusing yourself and making your way back to the Aphrodite Cabin. Before you could reach your cabin though, someone grabbed your arm and pulled you to the pier with them.

When you came to a halt and the person turned around you realized it was Hyunjae. "You used charmspeak on me earlier, didn't you?" he hissed at you and his eyes looked you up and down. You hand went up defensively, "It wasn't on purpose, I promise. I didn't even know I could do that." "You're telling me you never did that before?" He asked with a cocked eyebrow, as if he was challenging you. "No really. It was the first time I ever used charmspeak."

Hyunjae looked intensely into your eyes, trying to figure out if you were lying to him or not. "No one was ever able to use charmspeak on me. Why would you be the first?" He questioned. The way he worded it made you angry, as if he was looking down on you and your siblings. "How am I supposed to know?" You argued and ripped free from his grip on your arm before leaving him stand alone on the pier. Who did he think he was? Speaking down to you like that? Sure, it wasn't nice of you to charmspeak him, but it wasn't like you did that on purpose. He probably was scared you would ruin his reputation, but it's not like you went around bragging about the fact that you had charmspeaked him.

The next morning when you came into the dining pavilion to get breakfast, the Hermes table was already filled with campers. You could feel Hyunjae's eyes on you, but when you gave him a side glance he looked away and went back to the conversation he was having with Eric. Sitting down, you wondered what they were so actively arguing about, but you couldn't hear their voices from where you were sitting.

"Honestly I don't get it, who is she that she can just charmspeak me like that?" Hyunjae groaned as his eyes followed you, at least until you glanced at him, that's when he looked away. He tried to not seem startled, but honestly he was. "Do you think it's because you like her?" Eric asked, curiously looking at his brother.

Hyunjae choked on his drink when he took in Eric's words. "What do you mean?" He coughed, "I don't like her?! How would you come to that conclusion?" Eric snickered at his puzzled expression. "Hmm, let me think." He started in a teasing voice, pretending to be thinking hard, "When Y/N came to Camp, she was all you could talk about. Sometimes when she and her siblings are at the beach you stare at her and it's hard to get your attention again. Ever since Y/N was determined as a daughter of Aphrodite, you started pulling pranks on Cabin 10, before you just said it wasn't fun because they didn't fight back. I think you're just trying to get her attention."

Hyunjae was baffled, he was lost for words. He had never realized how obvious his behavior was, but now that the younger Hermes son had told him, he was a bit embarrassed. However he had to admit, that everything Eric had pointed out was true. Even when he pulled his hair dye prank on you, he was completely mesmerized at how beautifully you had pulled off the red hair. Sure as a daughter of Aphrodite you were always pretty, but to Hyunjae you stood out more than any of your siblings.

"Stop spreading this bullshit!" He said jumping up from his seat with bright red cheeks, before running out of the pavilion, leaving a snickering Eric behind. From your seat a few tables away you wondered what had gotten Hyunjae so flustered, but also didn't care enough to walk up to Eric and ask him.

Later that day when you were playing a card game with some of your siblings in your cabin there was suddenly a loud signal noise ringing through camp. It surprised you, the last time you had heard that signal was quite a long while ago, if you remembered correctly it had been your second year of camp back then. "Y/N, what is going on?" One of the younger cabin residents looked up at you. "It's fine, were just having some visitors. Let's go greet them." When you went to the front of Camp you were already met with a bunch of other Campers from other Cabins.

In front of the campers was a group of girls all carrying a bow and other weapons. "Who are they?" Younghoon's girlfriend from the Hecate cabin whispered to you. "The Hunters of Artemis." You whispered back, but before you could say more the group of girls parted and a small girl with an enormous aura walked up to the front. The Campers started to bow down in front of her, the power that a goddess held.

It was your second time seeing the goddess Artemis outside of the field trips you sometimes made to Olympus, but the power she held was only growing stronger with time. Chiron, one of the authorities in Camp, walked up to her and shortly bowed to her, before leading her away from the bunch of Campers to have a talk. The crowd around the Hunters also thinned out, but a lot of Campers stayed close by, still eyeing them suspiciously.

"Come on, let's go back too." You heard Younghoon say to his girlfriend and it snapped you out of your trance as well. Together with Younghoon, his girlfriend and Chanhee you went back to the Aphrodite Cabin. "Who was that girl? Why did we bow to her?" The Hecate girl asked curiously while holding onto Younghoon's arm. "Artemis." Chanhee spoke and she gasped. You giggled, remembering your reaction had been the same when you first saw her.

At lunch Artemis had already left. Chiron announced that her Hunters would be staying at Camp for a little while, as Artemis had something to take care of on Olympus. "That means we'll be playing capture the flag again right?" Chanhee groaned, not even trying to hide his hate for the game. Right then Chiron announced the Capture the flag game would take place in the afternoon. Chanhee groaned again clear disgust on his face.

Before the game started all the Campers met at the fire place to plan a strategy. The whole meeting was led by Sangyeon from the Zeus Cabin and the head of the Athena Cabin. "So we need someone to attack, I assume the Ares Cabin would like to do that?" Sangyeon asked and the cheers erupting from the Ares kids was enough to answer his question.

"The Hermes Cabin will lay traps, but always walk in pairs of two! understood?" The head of Athena ordered, nods and murmurs from the Hermes kids followed until one of them spoke up, "If we split into groups of two we need one more person." "I think Y/N could join Hyunjae!" Eric called out. You looked up, surprised at your name being called when you hadn't expected it. "Would that be okay with you, Y/N?" Sangyeon asked. Now that all eyes were on you, you couldn't just deny despite the weird look on Hyunjae's face.

This was how you found yourself a bit later, trailing quietly behind Hyunjae as he was putting up small traps throughout the forrest. "Wait a second!" Suddenly you felt like you had heard something behind you. Hyunjae turned to look at you, it seemed like he wanted to say something but seeing your concentrated face he kept it to himself. When you felt a shift in air, you quickly pulled Hyunjae behind a tree with you. At the moment you didn't care about how close the two of you were standing, or that he had his hands on your hips, as an arrow hit the spot that the two of you had been standing just seconds before.

Peeking around the tree you saw one of the hunters come out from behind a tree not that far away, her bow was stretched as she looked around to find her targets. "We need to get her into the trap." Hyunjae whispered, his lips close to your ear and you agreed. Lightly you pushed him off you and jumped out from behind the tree, to get the hunters attention. You were quick enough to dodge the arrow, as Hyunjae was just staring at you from his hiding place.

"Come on, don't you want to hit me? Why are you so slow?" You taunted the girl, gripping your little knife tightly. If there was one thing you trusted in, it was the fact that you had a quick reaction time. Dodging the girls arrows you lured her closer to the trap and it didn't take long for her to get trapped in it. The fact that she tried to break free only made her get tangled in the ropes more.

"Let's go, what are you waiting for?" You called out to Hyunjae who was still scanning over the girl in the trap, as if he couldn't believe it had actually worked. He sprinted after you, knowing that when the game was over someone would get the struggling girl out of there. "That was really impressive Y/N. I didn't know the Aphrodite kids could fight." Hyunjae said as he caught up with you. You rolled your eyes, there it was again. A prejudice about the Aphrodite Cabin being lazy and bad fighters, you hated it. Sure some of your siblings weren't interested in learning how to fight, but you were still demigods, just like everyone else you had battlefield instincts.

"You shouldn't be so simple minded. It's not like all we do is look pretty. We have some talent as well." You argued as you pointed to a spot for him to put up another trap. "You are pretty though." He whispered while working on the trap. You weren't sure if he intended for you to hear it, you weren't even sure if he was talking about you specifically or all of your siblings as a whole.

After the trap was set up the two of you continued your way through the Forrest. When suddenly Hyunjae grabbed the sleeve of your shirt, "Can we take a short break?" You nodded and leaned against a tree as you watched Hyunjae take a seat on the mossy ground, not even caring that his clothes would get stains.

"Hey Y/N?" Hyunjae looked up at you with big eyes. There was something weird about his facial expression. "I think I like you." When Hyunjae blurted out these words in the middle of the woods, you almost choked on your own saliva, but suddenly you realized something, "Is this your way at getting back at me for using charmspeak on you?" After all he was a son of Hermes, they were known for their tricks. Was that the reason why Eric had recommended you to go around with Hyunjae? Was he in on this plan?

Hyunjae put his hands up defensively, "What? No! I'm being genuine here." "Yeah, right." the sarcasm was obvious in your voice as you crossed your arms in front of your chest, embarrassed for your heart beating this fast and almost being fooled by Hyunjae's antics. "Listen Y/N, I know this might sound a bit weird right now, but I also only realized this morning. Eric said that maybe you were able to charmspeak me because I like you and, well, that kind of opened my eyes." He scratched the back of his head. The blush on his cheeks made you believe he was telling the truth, but you were still looking at him with a bit of doubt.

"Can I try something?" He asked as he stood up from the ground and lightly cleaned off the dirt from his pants. "What?" You scanned him up and down, still a bit wary. "Close your eyes, please." Hyunjae requested as he moved closer. Even though it took you a while to follow his request you closed your eyes eventually.

That's when he pressed his lips on yours. The initial shock almost made you push him away, but something in your heart told you to enjoy this kiss to the fullest, so you kissed back. A loud noise made you pull away out of shock, breathless but with a new kind of feeling in both your stomachs. It took you a second to realize that the noise was the signal that the game had ended.

"Hyunjae?" said boy looked at you shyly with a blush still spread over his cheeks, "I like you too." For a second you thought you had broken the poor Hermes boy, as he was staring at you without moving or saying anything, but when you had offered your hand he quickly grabbed it.

Together you walked out of the Forrest, to be met with your fellow campers celebrating the win over the Hunters. When Eric saw you coming out of the woods, while holding hands and blushes spreading over your faces he couldn't help but smirk about the fact that he was the reason his brother had finally acted on his crush.

so I'm repurposing the demigod!dreamies au since I haven't had inspiration for The Bridge Between Flowers and Fire since I posted the first chapter over a year ago at this point. ✘ a/n: I am not completely satisfied with this but here it is, beware this is literally such a silly scenario, you’ll realize how not funny I am😂

Life was much better when you didn’t hear ‘yeet,’ ‘boomer,’ or ‘simp’ every single day. Especially without knowing the exact context of each, what the hell did that son of Hephaestus mean when he said he was ‘a simp’ for that child of Aphrodite? and why the hell did the children of Hermes call you a boomer every time you scolded them for cheating their way into winning?

Life was much better when you lived in your time.

Your father wanted you dead.

To be fair, he wasn’t the only one. Half of the Olympus thought you were the one who deserved to pay for that time ‘he slipped’, though by that time they should have been used to it. He was Zeus after all.

So in order to appease the fury of the rest of the Olympians and mostly his wife’s, he made you disappear from the face of Earth for quite some time. Leaving you hidden in the Lotus Casino was the better solution he came up with, after Hades said he wouldn’t admit you in the Underworld despite Persephone telling him it’d be a good idea.

No, Zeus thought getting you stuck in time for twenty years would be genius. Well, he would have left you there forever, if it hadn’t been for the son of Poseidon that got you out of there.

Juyeon was on a Quest when he found himself in the Lotus Casino. Perhaps he’d just been lucky enough not to fall into the trap just like you had, and after only five days you two were on your way out and back to Camp Half-blood. Juyeon was bitter about it, though, but he knew it wasn’t right to drag you along when you knew close to nothing about the way the world was now.

The last time you’d been outside, cell phones were barely a thing and now there was a thing called ‘Alexa’ that could control homes. The world was scary and you were in danger the moment you set foot on it.

Sometimes, if you thought about it too much, it was dumb how much you worried about the fact that technology had unbelievable breakthoughs—when you were half magical —instead of thinking that your stupid father had left you in a loophole. You’d been claimed two days after getting to Camp, but other than that, Zeus ignored your existence like his own depended on it. And maybe it did, but you resented being punished for his mistakes.

But you pulled yourself to your feet, doing your best to enjoy your new home. It was frankly better than the Casino. You loved learning how to use magical phones—unable to be tracked by monsters— made by the children of Hephaestus, seeing who was the current celebrity crush that the Aphrodite children had, and getting back to training, than glooming over your slightly tragic past and being the most ignored demigod by their godly parent.

Juyeon stared at you from afar, his back against a tree as you laughed at something a daughter of Demeter showed you. Getting you used to the time you lived in now was a task everyone took part in, especially Juyeon.

You waved goodbye to the girl when you saw Juyeon, you held the flower crown you’d been gifted to your head as you ran to him. “Hey!”

“Hey there y/n,” Juyeon smiled, eyes taking in the pink of the flowers.“Anyone called you a boomer today?”

“Huh, hilarious,” you huffed, hitting his shoulder when you got close enough. “No, but I keep getting called Captain America by the younger children of Apollo.”

Juyeon snorted, making you laugh too. “Well, that’s better isn’t it? I still can’t believe you refuse to watch Marvel movies.”

“I have a feeling they will just confuse me a lot more, time is strange.”

“Well, I’ll have the popcorn ready when you are,” he assured with a wink.

You placed the flower crown in his head, smiling. “Thank you.”

“y/n!” a son of Hermes called, “Ready to run the obstacle course?!”

“Coming!” you laughed before turning to Juyeon again, “I’ll see you later!”

He only got the chance to nod before you sprinted away.

Juyeon couldn’t stop thinking that he had failed.

His Quest was important, it was his chance to prove that he was everything people believed him to be and more. He was a son of Poseidon, and he was not supposed to fail. But he did, only getting halfway through because he found you.

Part of him accepted that it wouldn’t be okay to leave you at Lotus, for you to be lost in time for another couple of decades. You were a demigod and he knew where you belonged, so he took you there.

But still, his original mission had failed and the bitterness wouldn’t go away.

It was a couple days later when he saw the opportunity of redemption when a satyr called for help to bring a couple demigods to Camp. They’d been trapped in a warehouse in the city for three days now, unable to get rid of the monsters that chased them.

Of course he was the one to volunteer to go to the rescue. The excuse of dragging more monsters was perfect for him to argue that he should go alone, but he was just chasing after his stolen glory.

“Any chance you’re confessing your undying love for y/n before you, yourself, die?” Kevin questioned as he watched his friend get ready for the Quest.

“I am not dying, they’re in the city.” Juyeon replied, taking three seconds to glare at the son of Aphrodite.

“So no confession either,” Kevin sighed. “I’m just saying, you should tell them how you feel, before someone else does.”

“I don’t feel— It’s nothing of what you think—”

“Please,” Kevin cut him off making a gesture with his hand. “You can fool everyone but me.”

“Whatever, Cupid.” Juyeon huffed, although the tip of his ears was tinted red.

It wasn’t hard to track them down to the warehouse, two demigods and Tris, the satyr. Tris was the only one who didn’t seem too happy to see Juyeon, even if it meant they were getting rescued. A son of Poseidon only brought more trouble than aid.

But Juyeon was determined to prove himself, enough that he was the one to get lost this time. Furies had come after him after he’d let the rest of the demigods out, following him into the lowest part of the city, Juyeon found himself without a way out and unable to fight anymore, so all he did was accept his fate.

Juyeon woke up in the Underworld.

Thinking he was dead, of course, the first thing that came to his mind were Kevin’s words. It was worse than he thought, the pain of dying without letting someone know you loved them, but without the possibility of turning back, all that is left is memories and regret.

“You know you’re not dead, right?” a female voice called, getting him to finally open his eyes. “I just had to find a way to get you.”

Juyeon sat up straight, taking in his surroundings: the huge black walls and the marble floors, the thrones by the end of the room and the beautiful woman standing a few feet away from him, with flowers in her hair and a pale green gown cascading down her tall figure. Persephone smiled at him gently, gesturing for Juyeon to get up.

“Why am I here, then?” Juyeon cleared his throat, trying to sense any wound around his body. But the goddess in front of him was right, there was nothing that pointed to him having lost his life.

“Well, besides the fact that you keep endangering yourself to prove a point,” Persephone paced around for a moment, only to stop in front of him once again. “Do you remember what your prophecy said the first time you went on a Quest?”

Juyeon almost groaned out loud but nodded.

“And you still think you failed, right?”

“Because I did,” Juyeon stated, ashamed to revive what had gone wrong. “I didn’t get whatever I was looking for. ‘Something valuable for the Gods’ is not a good hint if you’re on the hunt for an object.”

The goddess sighed, looking at Juyeon straight in the eye. “That’s the thing, you weren’t looking for an object.”

Juyeon remained silent for a second and his mouth dropped a bit when the realization finally came to him. “But they were abandoned there, I— who—?”

“You know, y/n isn’t the first child of Zeus that’s been rejected, it doesn’t mean she’s not valuable for someone else. y/n has my favor ever since Zeus wanted to get rid of them.” she smiled bitterly, “Two decades had been enough of being stuck in time.”

It was like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders, Juyeon finally managed to smile at the goddess in front of him. “So I didn’t fail?”

“Children of Poseidon,” Persephone sighed. “They can be so dense, Hades was right, ‘be clear, Persephone…’” with another exasperated look at Juyeon, she threw her hands into the air. “Of course you didn’t fail! Now stop beating yourself up about it, it’s exhausting to see.”

The demigod laughed, “Thank you.”

“I know y/n has also come to be valuable for you, boy.” she smiled, “And it’s time you let them know. That friend of yours might be right, and the next time you get here, you might not be able to get out.”

When Juyeon found himself back on the limits of Camp Half-Blood, he thought he’d just been dreaming. But judging by the pain on the back of his head and the several cuts and bruises that now marked his body, it had been another Fury that had returned him home.

As soon as he entered the barrier, he was met with a crowd of demigods, most of whom had presumed him dead after days of knowing nothing about him. But the only thing on his mind was finding you, and like Persephone had advised, let you know his true feelings.

Some people just need to have a little push, and it was clear that returning from the Underworld had been his.

Making his way through curious demigods and Tris, who was constantly apologizing, saying he thought Poseidon would turn him into a bush for getting his son killed. He found you on the firework beach, just coming back from canoeing with Hermes’ Cabin. The sight of him almost made you weep, thinking you’d lost your most important friend only to see him standing in front of you with his clothes ripped and scratched cheeks, you threw yourself at Juyeon in an asphyxiating hug.

“Sorry,” you mumbled as he held you between his arms. “You’re hurt and— I just thought you were dead! Never do that again!”

Juyeon laughed, pulling you closer to his body. “I have just the solution.”

Before you could argue or question what was on his mind, Juyeon pulled you back to the lake, enclosing you both in a bubble so you’d be able to breathe. The scratches on his hands and cheeks, and the bruises on his collarbones faded the more time he spent in the water.

“I’m so glad you are safe,” you whispered, thanking that there weren’t any naiads around and you were able to have some privacy. “I was so scared.”

Juyeon didn’t utter another word, instead, the shell you were encased into shrank little by little, leaving you almost touching. He waited for you to question him or ask him to retreat but as his fingers grazed your cheek softly and his face inched closer to you, he smiled, his soul at rest by your acceptance.

When he finally kissed you, water finally surrounded your bodies but even then, you remained between his arms. Nothing meant more than him for you, not even time.

Juyeon was the only person who really made you feel timeless.

Summary: Son of Demeter Jacob meets you, a child of Apollo, while helping out his friend Kevin in the infirmary.

A/N: As many others I was obsessed with Percy Jackson when I was younger and quarantine made my old love come back, hehe enjoy ;) -Admin J

As a son of Demeter Jacob loves being outside and working in the field. There's something about plants that makes him feel calm and relaxed. What he doesn't enjoy is fighting, so he tries to avoid the arena at all costs. It's not that he doesn't know how to fight. No, he's actually a pretty good sword fighter, but he doesn't enjoy inflicting pain onto others, which is something you can't avoid in combat. He uses his knowledge about herbs to help out the Apollo kids to heal campers that were wounded during missions or practice. That's how he had met his friend Kevin, who was a bubbly Apollo kid. Usually Jacob would only bring by the herbs and prepare them for all the healers to use, but today was a messy day. He had already heard the noise that came from the infirmary when he was on his way, but he hadn't expected it to be that crazy in there. When he had stepped inside he instantly made eye contact with Kevin, who seemed incredibly relieved. "Jacob, I'm so glad you're here!" he exclaimed waving over the Demeter boy. "Can you help me for a second?" Kevin asked him to hold a compress to the torso of the boy that was laying on the bed. Jacob wasn't sure if he knew the boy, as he couldn't bare to watch all the blood that was seeping out of the big wound. He pressed the compress down, while his head was turned to the side. Meanwhile Kevin wrapped a bandage around the boy so the compress would be held in place. "Thanks Jacob." Kevin said after finishing up the bandage. Jacob just nodded, not trusting himself to open his mouth, since the nauseous feeling was still there, he was scared he would throw up. "Hey are you ok? You look a bit pale." a pleasant voice called out to him and he felt a hand on his arm. The last thing he could see before he fainted was a pair of beautiful eyes.

Jacob didn't know how long he had been unconscious for, but he woke up to hearing an angered Apollo kid complain. "Honestly what is this guy? An animal? If I have to heal one more bite wound I'm gonna teach him a lesson!" There was some laughter before Kevin spoke up "You shouldn't do that. He's a son of Ares after all, picking a fight with him would only cause trouble." The other Apollo kid sighed. Jacob started to slowly sit up and then he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Be careful." It was the same voice he had heard before he fainted. Once again he made eye contact with your eyes. There was a bright smile on your face as you helped him sit up and handed him a cup of water. "Are you feeling okay?" you asked him. Jacobs mouth went dry, he could only nod. "Kevin he's awake." you turned around and called out to your sibling, who quickly came walking over. "Hey man, sorry for earlier. I didn't know you can not stand the sight of blood." Kevin apologized to his friend. Jacob shook his head "It's fine. I don't have a problem with blood, but that was a lot." Jacob gave a reassuring smile to his friend so he would stop worrying. Kevin patted his back. "Maybe we should invite you to the beach this evening huh? I mean you're basically one of us? What do you think Y/N?" Kevin called out to you, who had already went to take care of the next person. "What?" you looked up from the small wound you were treating. You had not caught what Kevin had said as you were focused on your patient. "Should we invite him to the beach later. He's basically a healer." Kevin repeated his question. "Sure if he wants to." a small smile on your face as you looked at Jacob to wait for his answer. Once again Jacob felt his mouth go dry and his cheeks started to redden, he didn't trust his words, so he just nodded. "Great I'll come get you later then." Kevin beamed before allowing his friend to leave the infirmary. When Jacob had agreed to this, he didn't know what he was getting himself into. When Kevin came to get him from his Cabin shortly before midnight, he felt extremely anxious. They weren't supposed to leave their respective Cabins after 11 and Jacob was never one to break the rules. However he still found himself following Kevin, sneaking away from the Cabins to a secluded spot to the beach. "Honestly I didn't think you would actually come." Kevin admitted in a whisper as they were moving across the cabins. Jacob shrugged, not wanting to admit he came because he wanted to see you again. When both of them arrived at the secluded spot on the beach he could see around ten Apollo kids sitting around a small campfire. Was it really okay for him to do this? He stopped in his tracks, questioning if maybe he should just walk back to his Cabin. Kevin pulled him closer to the circle of Apollo kids and sat him down. Jacob shyly greeted the others and looked around. His shoulders slouched when he realized you were nowhere to be seen. "What's wrong? Are you missing Y/N?" Kevin teased him. Jacobs eyes widened with shock at what his friend had just said. The younger boy just snorted at his perplexed face "Did you think I wouldn't notice? I know you aren't an extrovert, but you couldn't even speak around Y/N." Jacob felt his cheeks glow red as his friend exposed him, but no one else around the campfire seemed to notice. "Don't worry, Y/N will be here in a bit." the Apollo kid patted his back. Jacob relaxed a bit and even though he still didn't know if sneaking out was the right thing to do, he was having a fun time listening to the stories the Apollo kids told. After a while he heard footsteps in the sand and not long after you sat down in the space next him. "Hi." energetic as always, you greeted him with a big smile. It took everything in him to greet you back, but after he spoke it felt like your smile got even bigger. "Ayyy, Y/N you finally made it. Took you long enough." One of your siblings started cheering from across the Campfire, which led all the attention to fall on you. "Next time, we're not playing rock, paper, scissors I keep on losing. I feel like I've cleaned the infirmary so many times I should be excluded from the next game." you pouted which made your siblings laugh. The stories of the Apollo kids continued and Jacob admired you, who was actively taking part in conversations, but you also continuously made sure to talk to him, even if he only gave shy and short answers. However Jacob also realized he was getting sleepy, as he wasn't used to staying awake that late. His head started to feel heavy and his eyes were closing. He didn't realize it himself but his body leaned into yours, until his head fell onto your shoulder. Your body stiffened a little, surprised at the forwardness of him leaning into you, but when you realized he was asleep you tried to move your body, to prevent the poor boy waking up with neck pain. Kevin also realized your small gesture towards his friend and gave you a smug grin. Before he could say anything to embarrass you, you shushed him with a glance. He only put up his hands in a defensive way, like he wasn't about to give you a teasing. After a while the circle around the campfire had thinned down, leaving you and Kevin, along with a still sleeping Jacob. "I'll be leaving you alone, yeah? No funny business please." Kevin teased, quickly making his exit after his words. If Jacob hadn't been sleeping peacefully on your shoulder you would have hit Kevin. You started lightly shaking Jacob awake, who seemed a bit disoriented. "Where is everyone?" He asked rubbing his eyes. Something about his voice made you feel different. It was raspy and a bit deeper than how he usually spoke. His voice sounded so attractive, that for a second you forgot how to function. "Y/N?" God how could he speak your name with this voice of his. "Sorry what?" you were clearly flustered but it seemed like Jacob didn't realize it. "Where is everyone?" Jacob repeated his question. "Oh they went to bed. It's getting a bit cold, so I woke you up. We should go back to our Cabins too." You explained. Jacob nodded, still a bit sleepy. You took his hand and pulled him up. Instantly a warmth spread through his body. He wasn't sure if it was because of you being a child of Apollo or if he liked you. Considering his actions around you it was probably the later one. You didn't let go of his hand while making your way back to the Cabins. The two of you stopped in front of the Demeter Cabin. "Honestly I didn't think you'd be here tonight. Kevin said you're a goody two shoes and wouldn't dare to break rules. But it was nice seeing you tonight. You should consider breaking rules a bit more often." You quickly pressed a kiss to his cheek. His whole body tensed up, not able to move from his spot, as he watched you back up, sending him a wink before turning around and walking to the Apollo Cabin.

You can ask my original characters anything. This applies to any character in my Realms of Mireia series and Demigod AUs. You can also ask even other main and side characters.

The format for them is "RoM/Demigod:name of character and question"

For example: "RoM: Elysia. How old are you?"

You can also ask the writer anything with "Yue: question"

I still have to finish all my series and wips before accepting requests.

Title: War and Peace

Pairing: Bae Seungmin x gender neutral!reader

The three Fates look down on you all like vultures circling for prey. They don't carry the loom, the thread, the knife they used - still use - to cut the strings of life. No one will have their fate determined today, not when there are other, more important things at stake than a few trifling human lives.

You and Seungmin kneel on the floor, surrounded by the ranks of your other friends, demigods who fought the war that the fallen gods precipitated with their gluttony, wrath, and lust. Grief etches itself in every line on your faces, weighing down a room that was decorated for celebration.

On the dais in front of you, one of the Fates has just placed the crown of asphodel on Seonghwa's head, marking the son of Persephone as the new god of the seasons. His back remains straight, poised as he stands, even with his head bowed forward like the weight of the four rings on his fingers drags him down. Fire roars in the braziers as he turns to the audience of assembled warriors and demigods and rises to his full height before bowing low, deep, silent. He finds his place among the newly crowned demigods and kneels once more.

And then it's your turn.

Taking a deep breath, you rise, your still-mortal heart thudding painfully in your chest. Next to you, Seungmin stands as well, his dark hair glinting in the firelight.

You look at him. He looks at you. You know he has to understand what you're trying to say with your eyes, the same words you told him yesterday under the shade of your mother's olive tree. You don't have to do this.

The corners of his lips twitch, and for a moment, you see the old Seungmin - son of Ares, yes, but committed to fighting for a cause, not senseless carnage and death. It's what drew you to him, the child of Athena that you were. He was interesting. Different from his siblings, though he got along with them well.

But here he is, taking the mantle of the fallen god of war, his father. Everything he never wanted. He hated Ares, you know, hated the massacres his father wrought on the battlefield for no other reason than lust for blood. Though he donned his weapons, fought with sword and spear and shield, you know that he worried, every time, that he would lose control and turn into some copy of his hated father.

"You won't," you'd told him once on the battlefield, surrounded by bodies of monsters and your fallen friends. "You won't. You won't become him, I know you won't."

You still believe it. But Seungmin doesn't. Never did. So you worry that, dressed in the color of blood with a crown of thorns and nettle awaiting him in the hands of the Fates, he will fall into a spiral of self-loathing and grief from which even you can't bring him back.

It's his choice, though. And even before you said what you did last night, you knew he'd already made it.

"I have to," he says, one hand against the scorched trunk of the olive tree. "I have to change the brand of war my father created." He looks up, eyes softening. "Besides, I have peace by my side."

Your lips tremble into the tiniest semblance of a smile. "And what is war but conflict in the name of peace?"

Your hands meet, crossing what seems like oceans of distance to grip each other once, silently, before parting to follow the path the other demigods took to the stage, where the Fates await. War and peace. Yes, that is the two of you - one dripping head to toe in red, the other clothed in pure white. Ares never had peace at his side when he set out for war. Already Seungmin has begun to erase his father's bloody legacy, to replace it with his own.

A tiny smile spreads across your face. You're creating a legacy, too - bringing power to the minor goddess Eirene whose hand you held as she died, a child of Athena now bearing the fallen scepter of peace. Never will the old gods use her name to justify their acts of greed and deception, for the only one with the right to use your name or hers will be the boy now kneeling by your side.

And Seungmin would never take either of your names in vain.

Closing your eyes, you bow your head forward. The cloth of your robes pools around your body, a swirl of rippling white touching the sea of red spreading from Seungmin's side.

His eyes flicker to yours. In them, you see a true smile, echoing your words from just last night under your mother's tree.

"What is war but conflict in the name of peace?"

You take a deep breath. The red of Seungmin's robes warms you with the firelight, swirling with the white of your clothes. Your hands find each other again, instinctively crossing the divide between blood and ivory. Seungmin's fingers grip yours as the Fates step forward, withered arms outstretched as they begin their chant.

Your eyes close, but even against the backs of your eyelids, you can see the firelight dancing on Seungmin's face, on his hair, lighting up the boy of war who you trust to stay by your side.

You squeeze his hand one more time. He squeezes back.

Red and white. Thorns and laurels.

War and peace.

United, now, as one.
