Rich Neighbors Au Part 3: Bye Bye Miss Parisian Pie
Part 1 Part 2 The Gabrieling Procrastination Art Rich Neighbors Vine Animatic
-Oh my watermelon kids
-they are finally in America!!!
-First stop: Trash City!
-oops sorry NYC, sorry, they just sound the same when I say them out loud so I get them confused sometimes :)
-(I’m kidding New Yorkers don’t kill me please)
-okay, okay, getting off topic.
-so they’re in New York
-they’re just kind of wandering and they end up running into the Elmos.
-Mari was almost pulled into a hug with one and Felix had to drag her out of the way, saving her from the creep
-they then immediately booked it to a restaurant, hoping that would give them a bit of a reprieve.
-Hard Rock Cafe was the one they picked, Nino’s choice, obviously.
-Marinette gushed over the mini milkshakes for like ten minutes.
-someone ended up recognizing them. They took a picture, posted it on twitter and now BOOM
-every single one of their fans and customers know exactly where they are.
-but ANYWAY
-they’re in nyc, why not go to a broadway show?
-Six. They go to see Six. Don’t @ me, I like six and I thought Marinette and Nino would both enjoy it
-Mari is LIVING for their outfits.
-Nino is also loving every minute.
-They’re in the front and Nino is basically grinning the whole show but during Heart of Stone you can see him tear up a bit.
-Felix actually enjoys it. He shoves all the thoughts of historical inaccuracies out of his head and mostly just listens to Mari ramble about the outfits.
-Adrien vibes with Seymour honestly. And Parr. And basically all the queens.
-Nathalie likes the show too, mostly because it’s a nice break for her and the songs are pretty catchy too
-for Mega Six, Mari is filming and all the queens look directly into her camera
-they also take it and dance on stage with her phone, filming everything
-Mari is about to faint. Doesn’t matter that she’s technically famous, she is DEAD
-they don’t see her face when they take and give back the phone so when she comes backstage afterwards with the gang, at first they just recognize her hair and see her as the girl who was filming the Mega Six
-then they see her face and the costume designer is trying so hard not to squeal, oblivious to the fact that she’s doing the exact same thing.
-Mari is absolutely gushing to them about how great the show was
-She tells Parr that her song was what kept her going in school, since she’s listened to the Broadway and West End soundtracks about a billion times. (Pretend like the broadway one is already out time is a construct with rich people)
-side note, they post the pictures and video and suddenly A BUNCH of Six fans are now following Mari and now Mari is designing outfits inspired by the queens because AH THE COSTUMES ARE GORGEOUS I COULD TALK ABOUT THEM FOR DAYS I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
-fun fact, they are all wearing a “If Found, Please Return to Nathalie” shirt
-Felix is adorable and bought Mari some hair pins with watermelons because Watermelon Kids
-yes Nathalie has a shirt that says “I’m Nathalie”
-they actually did lose Adrien and these two girls were able to return him to Nathalie and they all took a pic with them and followed the two on Twitter
-they don’t know what else to do in New York, so they just make their way down to...
-New Jersey!
-Seaside Boardwalk!!
-they mostly stick to the arcades, Mari sticking to casino pier, and them getting fries and lemonade as a snack.
-they spend the night at the boardwalk, going on a few rides like Moby Dick, and Pirate’s Cove.
-they spend the night at a house of a friend of Tom Dupain’s and the next day, they go to the Ocean County mall because it was close to the house.
-Adrien complained a bit about going to “the least cool mall in the state” but stopped when he found a five below at the plaza.
-five below is his weakness.
-mall, fun, yada yada yada
-bath and body works is inside? Mari’s in heaven.
-Friendly’s for lunch! Ice cream all around my friends!
-that afternoon they go to laser tag and completely dominated.
-Twins on one team, Watermelon Kids on the other.
-for some reason (the reason is called because I said so) they decide to go down to another boardwalk further south.
-on the way they go to lobster house for lunch (lobster house is amazing I don’t even really like it for the food it’s just the VIBES. they are. immaculate.)
-they go to Wildwood and ohhh
-Nino and Adrien are living it up on the rides
-rollercoaster, log flume, submarine ride slash game thingy!
-they’re doing it all
-and Felix and Mari are being so cute and domestic winning each other things at the games
-and then the arcade, where Felix is hopeless at Skeeball and ends up slipping and Mari helps him up while trying not to laugh
-can I just say that I think Mari is probably really good at claw machines?
-she has some weird sort of luck when she’s playing and she’ll always end up winning a prize
-they spend the night at a cute little hotel and the next day they go mini golfing
-now this is where Felix for some reason shines
-Mari keeps losing her golf ball and having to go search for it
-Adrien and Nino are both mediocre at it.
-Adrien got a hole in one and he and Nino screamed and Nino picked him up and spun him around
-they also got ice cream at said mini golf place
-Khor’s is just...*chefs kiss*. They all got the orange and vanilla swirl because I said so and it’s a Khor’s classic
-Felix picks an Italian place for dinner that night. It’s called Little Italy and it’s pretty good.
-and, that’s a wrap for New Jersey! Next...
-alllll the way down to.... North Carolina!
-they spend only a day in North Carolina, but they do go to these caves.
-and also, this place with food that’s mainly made of... alligator?
-basically, it’s a rest day.
-Mari gets SUPER inspired and buys fabric to make a jacket inspired by the caves and honestly it’s gorgeous because she used not only the tan of the rocks, but the beautiful blues of the water.
-NATHALIE BREAK
-she’s so tired but she’s having so much fun with her boys!!!
-she actually feels pretty well rested a few days into the trip.
-Nathalie can’t help but fuss over the kids
-and coo at their cuteness when they do cute things
-She and Mari always share a room
-and the three boys share a room
-Nathalie helps Mari do complicated braids because she’s super good at those and Mari can only do a basic braid.
-next!
-South Carolina!
-specifically Charleston.
-ghost tout ghost tour ghost tour
-“and this is the building where a dude saw the ship that held all his crops sink. He then proceeded to-“
-it gets graphic in that moment and Marinette is having fun but also isn’t a fan of thinking of... uh, head not being on body???
-pirates!!! They go into this cave thingy and see piratey stuff, which is entertaining for everyone because it’s creepy in the cave, which Mari enjoys, PIRATES, which Adrino enjoys, and history for the grumpy Felix
-it’s quiet and everyone’s happy, which Nathalie is living for.
-they mostly just walk around looking at pretty things the next day
-rainbow row rainbow row
-Mari is so inspired that she buys a cheap sketchbook from target just so she can get all these ideas down
-she desperately wants to sew but she has to wait since they don’t have access to a sewing machine.
-so, they eat at a sandwich shop before hitting the road.
-they make a quick stop in Georgia, laugh at a sign that lists the marvel movies made in Georgia, then leave.
-(sorry Georgia. I’m sure you’re a very nice state but I’ve had limited interaction with the state besides passing through and sometimes stopping to eat lunch.)
-this is the thing they’re very excited for!!!
-Florida!
-specifically, Orlando
-that’s right, DISNEY WORLD.
-they are spending a whole week here.
-that’s right, 7 days of fun.
-day 1, animal kingdom because they get there in the afternoon and there isn’t as much they want to see in animal kingdom. They have loads of fun though and are planning on dropping by another day for the first half of the day.
-next day is Magic Kingdom
-they go on so many rides.
-small world is Adrien’s favorite ride, don’t @ me.
-Casey’s Corner is where they get lunch because Mari loves the aesthetic.
-MINNIE EARS ALL AROUND
-Marinette has a different one for every outfit
-Aristocats ears!!!
-she can’t explain why she loves it, she just DOES.
-for their last day (yeah this is out of order but who cares) they park hop, ending in magic kingdom and staying for the fireworks. Our favorite designer wears these lovely light up ears
-when they went to animal kingdom on the first day you KNOW Mari had some cute ears
-shh don’t tell the boys and Nathalie but Felix actually asked Mari to be his girlfriend when they were in Hollywood studios
-they walked off together, and sat on a bench somewhere sharing a snack
-our extra boy asked if she could be his girlfriend with matching beauty and the beast rings
-Mari said yes and she smiled soooo much.
-it’s kind of hard to explain everything so let’s just talk about the interesting stuff!!
-Marinette VIBES with the princesses oh my god
-TIANA INSPIRED OUTFIT PLEASE
-Disney is V fun but... sorry boys, it’s time for Marinette to get some sewing done! (Also I’m kind of bored of writing Disney this took several weeks bc I would write like a sentence a day lol)
-CALIFORNIA TIME
-they do go for one day in Disneyland but most of it’s spent going to get some inspiration for Mari.
-fabric stores fabric stores.
-that girl is sketching and coming up with ideas like her life DEPENDS ON IT
-inspiration explosion
Tumblr media
-also some normal Knick knack shopping, so Mari gets some time away from staring down at her tablet and sketchbook.
-resting and just going to try all different sorts of normal, causal restaurants
-living the life
-also, Felix and Mari go on their first date. I say first date Very Loosely because it’s actually them sitting in Mari’s hotel room eating pizza and watching a movie and though they both consider it a date, they want to have a cute, cliche first date when they back home.
-Speaking of home...
-They are about to fly back to Paris when they get a message from Jess, one of the girls who found Adrien in NY.
-It was a message from her asking if she could check her latest tweet.
-it was a recording of Jess playing guitar, the song (an instrumental version of Miraculous but slightly modified) being wonderfully sweet. Aeon, the other girl, was also in the video, humming along to Jess. At the end, Jess dedicated the video the them and they both gushed about how nice they were in person and that both of them had waited until they had the arrangement ready before they posted it on social media.
-it thawed even Felix’s icy heart.
-and as they flew back to Paris, Nathalie couldn’t help but think of what a perfectly wonderful trip it had been. Minus... the accidents.
-But there’s no need to talk about that here.
-They reach Paris safe and sound, and Marinette takes a long, long nap right before she goes into creative mode and sews all the outfits she had sketched. Advantages of being rich, you know? You don’t have to worry about fabric price.
-While Mari was sewing, everyone else was also slowing down.
-And gearing up to go back to school
-*dramatic music*
-What will happen next? Even I have no idea!
.......
It’s almost like.... I exist??? Haha, but seriously, sorry for sort of going MIA??? I finally finished this, mostly by getting lazy towards the end. Yes, before you say it, I don’t hate NYC. It’s cool there, I just love making fun of it and the fact the special cam eout a few days ago is just pure irony. All of those links should work, so you can actually buy the Disney things I’m talking about! If they aren’t, please tell me so I can fix them. Next up is the Nathalie mentioned “Accidents”. That should take way less time because I’m going to go with the tried and true method of “Make stuff up and hope it makes sense”. I say should because you never know with me, I’m a mess ❤️❤️❤️

Florida to Texas
A couple months ago me and a friend I’ve known since school decided to take a road trip across America. Unlike most Brits though, we wanted to try somewhere a little different, so instead of your typical destinations like New York, Las Vegas and California, we chose the deep south - Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas. So just like that, a month and a half after coming up with the idea, we were on our way to the good ole US of A.
Our first stop was Miami, a place we both really wanted to visit. One of the first things you notice about Miami when you get off the plane, is how much Spanish influence there is. Every sign has a Spanish translation underneath, and half the people you hear talking are speaking Spanish. Being Hispanophiles ourselves, we felt right at home. The city itself looked amazing, with beautiful Art Deco style buildings everywhere and a beach that stretched for miles.
Tumblr media
We spent the first morning in Miami having a Cuban coffee at a local breakfast joint. From the outside the place looked like a dump, with horrible green looking photos advertising what food they had out the front. However, after closer inspection, we went inside and were pleasantly surprised to find something that looked like it was straight out of a Martin Scorsese film - old school wooden chairs, grainy photos on the wall, and fresh oranges stacked up high on top of a juicer. The coffee was some of the best we’ve both ever had - strong with a touch of sweetness, poured straight into thick, frothy milk. This may sound like a bit of a funny thing to get excited about, but once you try really great coffee, you really never want to go back.
After a day of sightseeing, we then jumped back in the car and headed down to the bottom of Key West, the most southerly point of the US. This part of America is stunning, with beaches everywhere and cool little bars, restaurants and places to visit. A highlight was having my first bowl of acai - a Brazilian dessert made up of berries, nuts, granola, and all sorts of other sweet things, as well as seeing the sun set at one of the few great national parks you can visit there. The remainder of our time spent in Florida, which I could go into great detail with if I didn’t stop myself, included airboating in the Everglades, exploring the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, kayaking in the Ocala National Forest, and visiting both Panama city - a place devastated by a hurricane and taken over by bikers - and our last stop, Pensacola - an immaculate looking city with the most amazing beaches and a really cool looking downtown.
Tumblr media
After a night of drinking and stepping into one of the blackest looking bars ever - a place that literally looked like it was out of American Gangster - we were back on the road. The first place we hit outside of Florida was a city called Mobile, in Alabama. Clearly built as a predominantly industrial city, this place you could tell had some serious industry, epitomised by the big shipyard you see when you first arrive in the city. Despite not being that attractive on the whole, the place had some really nice doses of Americana if you went down some of the smaller side streets and avenues, as we did. We decided to stop for a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants they had there - a typical American grill type place, as shown above, serving all sorts of southern style dishes. One of the main things you come across when you first eat this kind of food, is what they call ‘biscuit’, which is actually much more like a savoury British scone. Despite the food being pretty tasty, we decided to move on to our next destination.
After briefly passing through Mississippi - our third state in our trip across America - we ended up in New Orleans, Louisiana. Now this place had some serious style. Despite hearing many good things about New Orleans, I really didn’t know much of what to expect from it. You only really fully get the vibe of what is going on in that place when you first start stepping into the main part of the city - people dressing like they’re from the 70′s with bright colours everywhere, bustling streets with palm trees, and a tram system running straight through the middle of it all. The place is fully alive, like an open heart beating away. And the most exciting time to experience all of this is at night on the famous Bourbon street. Part of the French Quarter, Bourbon street has a long history, and is said to be one of the places that Jazz music really developed. After eating the city’s most famous dish, ‘red beans and rice’, we knocked back a few of the city’s most famous drink, the ironically named ‘Hurricane’ - a sweet cocktail made with rum, lemon juice, and passion fruit syrup. After a few of these we were well and truly buzzing. Hopping from bar to bar, and with live music everywhere, we had an amazing time. This was truly a great place to visit.
Tumblr media
Our next stop on our tour across America was the big Lone Star State itself, Texas. Our first call was at the city of Houston. One of the first things you notice when arriving in Texas are the massive oil fields and industry which stretch from miles upon miles. This place has some serious industrial might and is said to have an economy $400 billion bigger than that of Russia ($1.7 trillion in total). The city of Houston reflects this massively, with endless amounts of tall buildings, and restaurants on every corner. The place is not the most beautiful up close, but there are some great little places you can go to. We spent our first night eating at a massive Mexican place called ‘Pappasito’s’ just on the edge of the city, and this place was teeming with life, and the food was great also. However, we had bigger plans in mind. The next day we loaded up the car and headed to where we really wanted to go - the shooting range.
Neither of us had ever shot a gun before, however we were both adamant that this is what we wanted to do; we were in Texas after all. Walking into the place for the first time was surreal; pistols, machine guns, rifles and shotguns, all laid up across the walls as if it were a section of Wallmart - this place was legit. After taking a brief lesson by one of the instructors on how to use a gun, we soon found ourselves on the range with an 8mm pistol. Shooting a gun for the first time is a real experience. It gives you a real adrenaline rush. We both managed a few good shots at a paper target, however, within five minutes or so, it was over. Coming back to the desk of the shooting range, we felt like we still had a little more left in us though, and so after a bit of persuading by both the instructors and ourselves, we decided to give the full automatic machine gun a little pop... Jesus christ... This thing was powerful. Firing a single shot was fine, but once you fully let load on this thing, you really feel the blowback. The shots were a little less clean on this one, however that really didn’t matter. After firing a few rounds on one of these, you truly do feel like a big man!
Tumblr media
So we were in Texas, had just shot a pistol, and a machine gun; what was the next best thing we could do? - get a tattoo of course! Another first for me; I had never had a tattoo done in my life. After mooching down what seemed like the tattoo street of Houston, with about six different ones all lined up close to each other, we settled upon one run by a nice enough Filipino guy. After telling him what I wanted, and my budget, he not only offered to do it for a reasonable price, but to do the more complicated, original version also. This could have gone either of two ways - really bad or really well. After analysing him a little while, I decided that he was most likely one of these guys who liked the challenge of doing a really good tattoo and didn’t care too much about the money. How right was I. I ended up with something I was really happy with - a copy of the original Gadsden flag. This was something I associated with in a big way; a symbol of resistance from the original thirteen colonies of America when Britain tried to take away their rights and freedoms - such as what is happening currently with the British government trying to keep Britain locked into the anti-democratic EU.
Our last stop in Texas, and last of the trip, was at the city of Austin. I can honestly say that this was the best place I’ve ever visited in America. Like New Orleans, it was buzzing with energy, except in a totally different way - food vans everywhere, crazy looking shops and restaurants, people dressed like cowboys; this place was the real deal. After booking ourselves into the illustrious Red Roof Inn Plus, we decided to go further down town and visit ‘Barton Springs’. Despite the pool area being shut off, this place was beautiful; a river leading into a lake with great little trails on either side. People fishing, cycling, and even kayaking - this was a great little spot to use up some energy and spend some time with nature. One of the first things you notice about this place is how many turtles there are everywhere, either swimming around the river or lodged at the bottom of a tree somewhere. After a bit of swimming and sightseeing, we headed back to the ole Red Roof.
Tumblr media
The next day we went right back near the same spot to a food van park. This place had the most amazing food, including Thai, Italian, Mexican, Venezuelan, as well as your traditional American grill and acai bowl place. We both decided on Thai and weren’t disappointed, as we both had the exact same dishes the very next day. We spent that night exploring Austin’s nightlife by going to it’s famous ‘Sixth street’. This place was buzzing in atmosphere, with all sorts of bars and nightclubs to go to. We spent the night playing a game called shuffleboard - a game in which you push a disc across a table as close to the edge as possible - as well as chasing after plenty of girls. Unfortunately, despite getting what we thought was pretty close, we weren’t so lucky - turns out getting four girls from Brooklyn back to your Red Roof Inn Plus ain’t so easy. The next couple days were rather more peaceful, spent chilling and checking out more of Austin’s interesting and vibrant culture before our eventual flight home. It was a great end to what was an amazing trip, and one that I will never forget. God bless you America, god bless you!

Dark Lane Demo Tapes HD Review
Cover Art To “Dark Lane Demo Tapes”
“I’m losing enough sleep
dealing with envy and the news that they send for me
got the block in a frenzy”
–Deep Pockets
Drake starts off Dark Lane Demo Tapes doing what he does best, effortlessly floating on the intro “Deep Pockets“, another collaboration accompanied by producer Noah “40” Shebib. Self-reflecting and reminiscing on adolescent aspirations before the transition of becoming one of the greatest artists of all time.
Drake breaking the record for Most Wins in one night at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards
Drake has been navigating through uncharted territory flawlessly. Proving this point yet again with his release of “Toosie Slide”. Drake’s 3rd single to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart making him the first male in history to achieve this milestone.
“500 mill and I’ll fall back in the six,
finally give you n**** the space you need to exist”
-When To Say When
*Talk To em Drizzy*
Drake follows up with two pre-released tracks, “When To Say When” & “Chicago Freestyle”. Jam packed with bars, a sample from “Song Cry” by Jay-Z (one of my all time favorite Hov songs) on “When To Say When”, and a nostalgic Eminem cadence reference on “Chicago Freestyle”.
You really love to see Drizzy remind everyone on “When To Say When” that his pen still outmatches all who oppose. Re-asserting his dominance as if it was ever in question. Subtle reminders like the bars above are what keep Drake and his competition completely separated.
“Two-thirty, baby, won’t you meet me by The Bean?
Too early, maybe later you can show me things
You know what it is whenever I visit
Windy city, she blowin’ me kisses, no
Thirty degrees, way too cold, so hold me tight
Will I see you at the show tonight?”
Will I see you at the show tonight?”
-Chicago Freestyle
Giveon, a California native sings of the windy city as Drake gets ready to paint a picture of a night through his perception. From scrolling through his contacts of women’s names that are seemingly categorized by area code, to eventually just letting his boi Chubbs pick a girl out for him as if picking up women is as easy as shopping! Drake brilliantly segways into a memory that you forgot you had by referencing a cadence used in Eminem’s “Superman” released in 2002.
Eminem and Drake. Picture: Instagram
Don’t be fooled by the feature credit of Chris Brown….we didn’t get another “No Guidance” summer anthem….
Just a few background vocals from the R&B legend were enough to get his name on the project tracklist. Meanwhile Burna Boy is still waiting for his credits since More Life but that’s a conversation for another day. “Not You Too” Featuring Chris Brown is the first song on the project that I really don’t care for. It’s disappointing when you see a Drake and Chris Brown collaboration and it doesn’t slap..
What A Time To Be Alive is in my Top 3 favorite duo albums of all time. Whenever I see a Drake and Future collab I automatically get excited. Previously leaked, “Desires” is everything you want in a slower more laid back vibe from these two. The hook is addicting. Future’s verse is versatile with flows. His energy matches perfectly and his lyrics have SUBSTANCE. Listen to it carefully.
Photo From Future Featuring Drake “Life Is Good”
Drake has this ability to be able to sing 90% of the song, take the other 10%, completely spazz, and musically still have it make sense. These are the moments in songs like “Desires” and “Redemption” that turn slow R&B type vibe songs into a completely different entity within itself. Now all of a sudden you’re turning up and talking your sh*t instead of staring at the ceiling crying yourself to sleep.
When I hear “Time Flies” I automatically think of Tik Tok. I don’t know why but if it blows up on Tik Tok you heard it here first! Honestly for me this, is another skip it and forget it type of song, I really hope it doesn’t go viral.
The first forty-five seconds is the only part of the song that kept my attention. Otherwise the rest is forgettable or just too similar to music that he’s already done thus not really elevating his ability here. During a full listen to the song I’m 100% paying attention during the first forty-five seconds. After that my attention doesn’t come back until he starts saying “Im Sorry”.
Don’t worry Drizzy I forgive you.
“If he talkin’ out his head, then it’s off with it, yeah
Boardin’ Air Drake, then we takin’ off in it, yeah”
-Landed
Luckily, “Time Flies” is followed by a HEATER. Three hooks and three verses of aggressive, yet relaxed, reckless bars knowing there isn’t a consequence for you when you’re at the top. “Landed” is a slick talk, mean face, making breakfast with the speaker on 10 with the neighbors calling the cops while you’re trying to get hype for the day joint.
I wanna stop writing this review, get in my car, windows down, put this song on max volume and mean mug old people walking their dog in the suburbs for the rest of the day.
At first listen I was super excited about “D4L”. The production from Southside is out of this world. I do feel like it’s lacking a certain element. It’s easy to fall in love with a song featuring Drake, Future, and Young Thug, with this type of production. To me it just doesn’t sound organic. It sounds like it was thrown together rather than collectively created.
Honestly, I wish Drake and Future left Young Thug out of it, sat down together and created a dope record. Kind of wasted a great instrumental.
To be blunt, I’m just not impressed with “Pain 1993”. It could be the fact that I’m not the biggest Playboi Carti fan, or it could be just because the song’s just not that interesting. I’ve replayed “Pain 1993” numerous times searching for something with depth or meaning because that, accompanied with creative cadences and complex bars, is the reason why I love Drake’s music. This didn’t do it for me.
The intro to “Losses” is amazing. The song starts with a clip of Drake’s father Dennis Graham previewing a song Dennis had been working on recently. It ends with Dennis saying something like, “This songs about family, if anyone feel anyway about it I don’t give a f***”, classic.
It’s funny how you can listen to any Drake project and stumble upon a song that you personally aren’t really feeling. The next song is the exact song you’re looking for. Self-reflection is my favorite type of Drake song because the untouchable becomes relatable and humbled.
The second verse of “Losses” touches on Drake’s motivation on why he does what he does, “I do it for the Grahams not the Gram”. Then goes into depth about his sacrifices and choices that he’s made over the years and defends his reasoning behind them.
“I did it by being myself with no dramatic acting
I couldn’t sit around and wait, I had to have it happen
Lost you to the game, I gotta face that
Really think I lost you like a ways back”
-Losses
Drakes starts off “From Florida With Love” paying homage to the late Static Major who was well known for his appearance on Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop”. Otherwise the song is a dope story about Wayne showing Drake “Lollipop” back in 2008 on a tour bus with Kobe Bryant. (RIP) Then the story continues with Drake getting robbed for his chain and how that lesson stuck with him for life. Further justifying his reasoning for his mentality and how he handles certain situations.
“From that day I never touched the road without a (Plugg)
Ayy, from that day I never saw the point in talkin’ tough (Nah)
Hasn’t happened since, I guess you n***** know what’s up (Yup)
Yeah, haven’t seen the 6ix in like a month (6ix)
F*** that, I’m back, baby, where the love? (Love)”
– From Florida With Love
“VIRAL. MOVIE.”
Love to see Drake on some, what I define as, “murder music”. Type of music that just makes you wanna fight anybody, anytime… Drake absolutely BODIES the first verse but it’s a mere alley oop to Fivio Foriegn.
Fivio Foriegn sounds like he’s right at home on this one. His delivery is in your face, lyrics are gritty, his aggression is on another level. My only take back is Sosa Geek’s verse just feels, unnecessary. Or maybe I just really wish Pop Smoke was alive to clean this one up RIP.
The final song on the project “War” was released around Christmas time 2019. The best part of this being the outro to the project is only that we can stream this song now. Despite being released months in advance it only became available on streaming services with this release.
War is a song that is being recognized as “UK Drill” which, obviously, was created in the United Kingdom. This is just another example of how Drake can travel in and out of different genres and subgenres immaculately.
Conclusion
Overall the project is supposed to be perceived as a “mixtape” rather than an “album”. Drake is set to release a brand new studio album later this year. As a whole I enjoy the project, I’m trying to shy away from relating it to other albums because it technically isn’t an album. Dark Lane Demo Tape isn’t game changing, but it will hold the world over until the real album drops.
What was your favorite song on “Dark Lane Demo Tape”?
Tell me what you guys think in the comments below!
Thank you for reading my “Dark Lane Demo Mixtape”  HD review. If you enjoyed this post check out boisandbartalk.com for more content from the bois!
