I can imagine the absolute panic that everyone felt when they found out about IK eating Solomon's cooking before they find out that she's fine and suffering no consequences from it.
Anyways, it's been a while since I looked at Rain World lore, so things are possibly gonna be brief and they might be a bit off. Plus, just a warning, the lore contains really dark stuff, although I'll try to not go into too much detail.
The creatures in Rain World are trapped within the cycle, where life leads to death, which leads to rebirth, meaning that with very few exceptions, when a creature dies, they don't stay dead. The most technologically advanced group, referred to as The Ancients, wanted to find a way to escape the cycle, and eventually, they did.
After digging deep underground, they came across the Void Sea, an area made/filled with Void Fluid, which allowed those who swam in it to escape the cycle, stopping them from coming back. Seeing as they now had a method with a 100% guarentee rate of success, a lot of the ancients began to go to the Void Sea. However, apparently, it wasn't as 100% success rate as they thought.
Some of the ancients who tried to use the Void Sea to escape the cycle were forced back in the form of echos, I think due to them being "too attached to the world." This caused a lot of panic because now the Void Sea wasn't as safe as they thought it was. So, to try and come up with solutions, they created the Iterators.
The Iterators are basically gigantic, sentient super computers with a "puppet chamber" within, used as a point where the ancients could communicate with them. The Iterators were created with one purpose, to discover the solution to the great problem, and find a way to escape the cycle. The Iterators produced a lot of heat and, to prevent them from overheating, required large quantities of water, causing them to produce large quantities of steam that eventually leads to the lethal rains that plague the land, causing the ancients to move their cities to the tops of the Iterators.
The ancients didn't want to risk the Iterators wanting to escape the cycle themselfs, so they added a "taboo" to their genetic codes to prevent them from self-destructing. Eventually, the ancients ended up disappearing, leaving the Iterators behind and forcing them to continue their one objective, to find a solution to the Great Problem.
Eventually, one did find a solution but their communications were cut before they could reveal it to the others. This led to one Iterator, Five Pebbles, believing that there truly was no solution, and with a bit of help from another Iterator known as Seven Red Suns, he attempted to re-write his genetic code to erase the taboo that stopped the Iterators from self-destructing. However, the process of his experiment required to him largely increase the amount of water he was taking it. Maybe it wouldn't be a problem on it's own, but Pebbles was a newer Iterator that was built to share a water source with an older one known as Looks to the Moon.
Because of this, Moon wasn't getting enough water intake, which was destroying her and her can. Eventually, Moon used her senior privileges to try and force Pebbles to stop, however, this caused a massive problem. Pebbles was just about to make a breakthrough when Moon interrupted him, causing his experiment to go wrong and causing him to create the rot.
The rot is, in lack of better terms, a sentient robot cancer with it's only goals being to consume and to grow/spread.
Eventually, Moon's can collapses, cutting her off from the other Iterators and leaving her shut down until a Slugcat created by a fourth iterator, No Significant Harrasment, ended up going to her remains and using a slag key to "wake her up," though she is still unable to contact the other Iterators.
Eventually, the rot eats away at Pebbles' can, causing it to collapse as well.
Then, in Saint's/the final campaign, while the rain has stopped, likely due to Pebbles collapsing since it's likely there are no other Iterators nearby, there is instead a blizzard that, while not said, is possibly caused by the Iterator's collapse, since they produced so much heat in the first place.
Then, as Saint approaches the Void Sea, the Void Fluid begins showing up much sooner than it does in the other slugcats' campaigns. While not outright said, this seems to heavily imply that the Void Sea is "leaking up" or rather, "eating away" at the world.
Anyways, sorry about the very large lore dump, I genuinely did not think I remembered this much. I would remove some to make it shorted but everything I remember feels too important to the lore for me to remove it.
gosh the game's a lot more complex than it looks initially... so hmm. does this mean that, were ik to have lived like the playable slugcats before coming to the devildom, every hypothetical death did happen, but was undone when a new cycle began?
is it like a reverse isekai situation where ik somehow was summoned out of the game and into real life? or perhaps the rain world is some other realm and the game levi plays is some kind of manifestation of it
oh it'd be cute if ik feels a natural sort of pull to the game (since it's her world), so whenever levi plays it she goes right up to the screen and starts pawing at the playable slugcat like "hi!!! hello!! you're like me!!!!!" then she hides behind levi when he gets caught by the really big monsters
levi apologises with increasing teariness every time he dies in-game and then when he figures out that OH that's literally her story and not just something with characters oddly similar to her, he just. sobs
simeon walks into the purgatory hall kitchen and sees solomon happily feeding ik... something, and he has a moment of pure unadulterated horror (and is about to swoop in like superman) before realising that what the hell she likes it??

Khoda Station
For a long time after she joined the Project, Sirrek had found Tjumak to be a puzzle, the most difficult to understand of her colleagues. She took as read that you had to have pretty good reasons to want to risk defying the Archive’s most sacrosanct law, and also to spend half of every year out in the middle of nowhere, hundreds of kilometers from the nearest transport routes and thousands from the nearest settlements. For most of the people at the station, their motives were actually pretty simple. Koridek believed passionately in the work; so passionately that he was willing to break his most deeply held convictions about what it meant to be an Archivist. For him it was all about values. His desire to serve humanity ran deep, and that was what made him a good fit for the Archive. His desire to serve Paradise, well, that ran even deeper; it was the source of his desire to serve humanity, to protect their nascent colony, but also to violate an order that had been created decades before Sirrek was born, to prevent terrible bloodshed. Depending on how you looked at it, that made him a very bad archivist indeed.
Ardhat was also simple. She was a problem-solver. That wasn’t all of it, but it was most of it. Of course, she believed mightily, too, but Sirrek doubted anyone could believe in anything as strongly as Koridek did. But above all else, Ardhat wanted to solve the biggest problems she could find. That was what got her up in the mornings, and drove her forward. She was a puzzle-cracker, a code-breaker, a solution-seeker, a builder-of-systems. She would have been a fine architect, or a talented engineer, or a clever physicist. But what greater puzzle was there than the Great Record? What greater problem to solve could there be than resurrecting a lost world out of the most ancient memory of the past? Of building a whole new ecosystem, alongside and on top on alien to it that already existed? Sirrek was quite certain that Ardhat would die to protect the Project if it ever came to it, but in the meantime, she would live for its mysteries.
Sirrek? Well, introspection wasn’t her strong suit. But where Ardhat had a cordial indifference to authority and Koridek a deep but respectful complaint against it, Sirrek just hated being told what to do. And they had told her, you shall not be a biologist. Not in the way you want to be. You shall not undertake any part of the great work--for it will not begin in your lifetime. They had said to her, you shall leave Paradise fallow, at least for a human definition of the term. And so Sirrek hated them for that, hated them for deciding before she was born that all her talents and her ambition must be sacrificed in the name of politics, hated the religious zealots and the blind ideologues whose fledgeling war meant that it would be many lifetimes before the Paradise she dreamed of would come to be. She was compelled to disobey. That was what got her out of bed in the morning.
But Tjumak. There was a mystery. He affected it a little, Sirrek thought. He spent his days ensconced in the middle of his dark laboratory, like the heart of an animal, or the engine of a machine. He did not come and go, like Koridek. The dim light of the displays shone on the glossy exterior of his support apparatus. He had once had a survival suit, Koridek said, and had gone back and forth from the surface like most of the other Archivists, returning to Ammas Echor when the strain of surface living became too great. Archivists were not born for planetbound life; they were humanity as it lived between the stars, made for the long dreamlike time in the cold and dark, and for keeping the long memory of their people alive. How long did our ancestors travel from star to star? Sirrek had once asked her mother, when she was young. For countless ages, she had replied. Since the Garden was lost to us in the beginning of time.
A survival suit was meant to be a temporary thing, a way to endure the stresses of gravity and the immoderate temperatures of the surface. What, do you go naked in space? Sirrek had asked Koridek. Koridek laughed. No, he said. We still have to wear suits on the vessel, though they are much lighter. You see me only as a hulking, heavy thing in this armor. In microgravity, I am considered graceful; above the sky, I can dance. Why someone would exchange that for a planetbound prison, much less one where they could not leave the room they worked in, Sirrek struggled to guess. But that was what Tjumak had done. From the outside, he looked almost like a silly toy: a round, smooth metal body, topped with a round, smooth head on a short, flexible neck. His arms were more graceful, and the apparatus in which he set could turn this way and that to reach th various monitors and keyboards around him; but apparently much of the interface was actually inside the suit, which in Tjumak’s case was more of a chamber, one in which he floated in a carefully-formulated synthetic fluid. And if the power goes out? Sirrek had asked. He will be very annoyed until someone finds the switch for the backup generator, Koridek said.
Direct neural prosthetics like the Archivists used, and which Tjumak relied on for his work, were rare among the younger generations, so it was probably a less claustrophobic way of living than Sirrek imagined. And if he really had to, he probably could switch back to a survival suit. Like if they ever got caught, and had to evacuate the station. That was a possibility she did her best not to dwell on.
She got a little window into Tjumak’s world, or at least his thought process, when they spent several long weeks working on a section of the Great Record. It was a frustrating and exceedingly difficult task, and the missing portions that Sirrek needed amounted to only a handful of characters, but the Record was nearly impossible to work with directly. When she was little, her teachers had explained that the Great Record was a library of the genetic information of every animal and plant and little microscopic beastie that had ever lived in the Garden, the world humankind had come from. And when their most ancient ancestors, the ancestors of their unimaginably remote ancestors, had had to leave the Garden as exiles, they preserved the Record, and kept it safe, for hundreds of thousands of years.
That was almost, but not quite, entirely a lie. When she had started studying biology, with an eye to genetics and to endobotany specifically (back when she imagined that she might be permitted to do something with her training), she started learning about how the Great Record worked. It wasn’t just a record of DNA; that on its own would have been quite useless, she was assured. DNA was an important part of it, of course, nuclear and mitochondrial both, but only a small part. Rather, the Record had been compiled as an image of the shape of a living cell: it described actual genetic code, but also how DNA was formed, how proteins were folded, how DNA and RNA were transcribed, processes of methylation and copying, how mitosis and meiosis functioned, and so on and so forth, attempting to describe the metabolism of an ideal cell, one which contained within it the potential to embody almost any form of life to which humankind had once been related; and it was by reference to this elaborate, ideal lifeform that literally millions of other species, from single-celled bacteria that lived in the human gut to storybook leviathans, were described. And the reason, Sirrek was told, that the Record had been composed in this way was that, long long ago, their ancestors had once had the technology to use those reference descriptions directly. The heart of the Record was a terrible lacuna, a tool that had been so widespread, and so useful, that it had once been presumed it would never be lost.
Oh, fathers of my fathers and mothers of my mothers! Sirrek had thought. How far your children have fallen. The senior geneticists referred to this technology as the key to the universal cell; or just the key. What, exactly, it was and how it had functioned was hard to guess. It was related to other technologies they had that barely worked, and that they did not understand at all, like the ones the Archivists used to modify their genes and to improve their neural prosthetics. There were baseline humans who had been brought all the way from Rauk on the last journey, in sarcophagi that had preserved them between life and death. It was a form of the key that had brought them back to wholeness, and let them live out the rest of a natural lifespan. But it was a specialized version, a crippled and ghostly version. They did not have the true key; and they were working to rebuild it. Perhaps one day, many centuries from now, they would live up to the promise of those long-ago masters of the living world, and they would read forth out of the Record a whole teeming world, as had been intended.
But they didn’t need the key to start understanding the Record, and ordinary genetic engineering and cell manipulation techniques would serve to clone the most basic organisms recorded there. Of course, all of this was hampered by the fact that the Record was at both extremely terse, intending to encode an enormous amount of information in as small a space as possible, and maddeningly repetitive. It was not really one Record, but many; the collocation of multiple copies, in some places defective, and in others damaged. Later, totally uncomprehending generations had apparently lost all but the memory of the importance of the thing, and carefully copied what they did not understand into new forms. It was only in the glare of Rauk, millennia ago, that the Janese had finally understood what they had had in their grasp, and built it into the skeleton of Ammas Echor itself.
Understanding the Record had been the original purpose of the Archive, and in the long, slow journey to Paradise they had labored ceaselessly at their task. Still, it was slow work. And since their station did not have the benefit of access to either the Archive on Ammas Echor, or to all the latest work from investigators working on the surface, sometimes they had to work at it themselves. At Ardhat’s encouragement, Sirrek had been trying to get a handle on some of the plant species that, by their position in the Record, seemed to be relatively basal. Much of the work in unraveling that portion of the Archive had been done by others, and was well-known, but little attention had been paid to the bryophytes. Under the logic of the agreement between the Renewalists and the Instrumentalists, this didn’t matter. Actual resurrection of species was not slated to begin for nearly eighty years, and even then it would be confined to laboratories. But Sirrek wanted practical results. What she ideally wanted was trees, flowers, grasses, important primary producers that also occupied slightly different ecological niches from the xenophytes, and could be integrated alongside them. But mosses were step zero. Possibly even step negative one. All she needed was a single viable spore. In theory, everything she needed was in the Record, somewhere.
In their long, slow labor, the Archivists had painstakingly indexed the Record, but it was an immense of information, and one that was only partly understood. The language of the record, if it could be called that, was a sophisticated polyvalent writing system that could encode chemical formulae, the structure of molecules and proteins and organelles, and dipped in its most specific registers into the subatomic scale, to describe the precise interaction by which choloroplasts captured the light of the sun, to convert into energy; and at its most general, sketched a mathematical relationship between the populations of a predator and its prey. Yet for all that it said, it also left maddening amounts unsaid, details that were perhaps assumed by its creators to be common knowledge, or which simply could not be fit in.
“It’s almost gibberish,” Tjumak had observed dryly. “Almost.”
“Why do you think they made it in the first place?” Sirrek asked Tjumak. “Do you suppose they really thought the umpteenth children of their children would be able to make use of it?”
“I can only assume so. Hubris, perhaps, or merely an unfathomably acute case of optimism.”
“It had to have been made in the Garden, right?”
A small movement suggested a shrug from Tjumak. “To speculate on the historicity of our people before the last journey is to engage in theology as far as I can tell. Whatever the Garden once was, it is now more myth than fact.”
“Maybe,” said Sirrek, tapping her chin as she moved the same section of the Record back and forth on the display. The curling, two-dimensional network of shapes blurred together if you tried to take in too much of it at once, not to mention it was dispiriting. It was far easier to concentrate on the smallest legible piece, and work through it one symbol at a time. Tjumak peeked over her shoulder, and glanced at her notes.
“No, that’s not right,” he said. “That’s not a DNA sequence, it’s a protein sequence. Look, that’s a symbol for a folding geometry, in the corner.”
Sirrek muttered an impolite word and started backtracking.
“They can’t have made it during the Exile, anyway,” she said. “You can’t put millions of species on a generation ship. Even if most of them are beetles.”
“Perhaps not,” said Tjumak. “But what is an object such as this? It is a monument against ruin. If they made it in the Garden, they made it knowing its desolation was close at hand.”
“So you’re definitely in camp made-to-be-used.”
“I think… I think it doesn’t matter why they made it,” Tjumak said. He was scanning his own section of the text, which in real terms was inscribed about a meter and a half away from Sirrek’s on the same section of Ammas Echor’s structural frame; but which felt like it might as well have been on the other side of the planet. “The question is, why do we want to use it?”
“Hubris, and/or an unfathomably acute case of optimism?”
“It’s a reasonable question. We could have come to Paradise, gone down from the Ammas Echor, and made our living on this world as it is, with no attempt to change it besides the introduction of ourselves. For that matter, we could have stayed in orbit, bringing up such resources as we needed, air and water and soil, to make life there far more comfortable than it ever could have been on one of the airless or gasping worlds our ancestors lived their lives on, and left Paradise almost entirely unchanged. Yet when we arrived, we nearly fought a war against one another, not over whether to make use of the Record to resurrect the creatures of the Garden, but only how.”
“Do you think we should have considered the possibility?”
Tjumak leaned back from the display he was hunched over. The head of his support apparatus tilted up toward the ceiling, which was as close as he ever got to looking pensieve.
“I cannot honestly say yes. I’ve known space, Sirrek, real space. Not orbital microgravity, but the deepness beyond the summit of the sky. Some of my earliest memories are of the firing of Ammas Echor’s great engines, to turn our path inward toward the light below. Of the long, slow spiral down to the inner worlds of Kdjemmu. And even that emptiness was brighter and warmer by far than the great darkness between the stars that my mother and father were born into. When they were young, ever joule of energy was precious beyond reckoning, every drop of water or puff of air worth more than a human life.
“The other worlds around this star, they’re airless, or formless giants, or scorching hot, or worse. And every world our ancestors ever visited, if the tales are true, from the Garden-which-was-lost to Usukuul-we-mourn, was as barren as them. I cannot imagine what suffering generation after generation endured to bring us here--and it would spit in the face of every soul that died on the journey not to bring Paradise to flower.”
“We will, Tjumak,” Sirrek said softly. She had never seen Tjumak speak so earnestly before. “And we will not ravage, and we will not burn. And one day we will call our brothers and sisters out of the darkness to live with us again.” The rhythm of the ancient litanies came back to her smoothly. Her parents had not been religious, but her grandmother had been. She had recited the litanies to Sirrek when she was small, a soothing voice to sleep to.
“Will they thank us?”
“The other Exiles?”
Tjumak shook his head, then pointed at his display. “No. The ghosts we’re going to call up.”
“What do you mean?” Sirrek asked, perplexed.
Tjumak swiveled in place to another display, and tapped a few keys on the panel next to it. The image of another part of the Record appeared, this one displayed alongside long sections of plain text. There were ghostly outlines of various creatures superimposed on it and displayed alongside it, gracile things with four legs and taut muscles, and things with sharp teeth and long claws.
“This part of the Record was indexed four generations ago, and pretty well translated,” Tjumak said. “It’s an unusual one--it’s organized by relationship between constituent elements, not by phylogeny. It’s probably from a lesser Record that was only integrated into the whole later.”
“What are they?”
“Animals. Warm-blooded, furry, placental. Very much like us, in some ways, but quadrupedal. And, to judge by the annotations, quick. Well-muscled. Herbivorous and carnivorous.”
“One is predator, and one is prey?”
“Likely.”
Sirrek had that dark feeling again, the one that was tinged with despair. Sometimes it came up when she looked at too much of the Record at once, or when she spent too long thinking about the aching gulfs of time that they hoped to bridge with the Project. The feeling that it was too much--too much for her, too much for anyone, too much for innumerable lifetimes.
“We’re a long way from placental mammals, Tjumak.”
“Yes. But we’ll get there one day. I don’t doubt that. What I wonder is, what would they say? If we could ask them. And, you know, they could talk.”
“I don’t think there’s anything alive that doesn’t want to live.”
“Ah, but they are not alive. Not right now. It will be us who make them live, if we choose to. And consider, my friend, what that will mean. For some, they will be the prey. The hunted. The fearful. The one whose existence ends with blood and pain and screaming. And others, they will be the predator. Hungry, ever-hunting, fearing that one day their source of food will move beyond the hills, or that a harsh winter will kill them all, and leave the hunter to starve.”
“You think it’s not a life worth living?”
“Would you want to live such a life?”
Sirrek shook her head. “It’s not a coherent question. Does the ferngrass or the swarmbug want to live? The ferngrass can’t react to external stimuli at all, and the swarmbug has six neurons wired in sequence--basically glorified clockwork that tells it when to fly and when to land, and when to lay eggs. There are more complicated xenozoa in Paradise, but they aren’t anything like us, either. And these mammals? Maybe they’ll be able to feel pain, and hunger, and a kind of fear in the moment--but ‘life worth living’ is a human concept. I’m not sure it applies.”
“Surely it must. Even to creatures without language, without tool use, without abstract thought. If they can suffer and feel joy, there is a place where suffering outweighs joy, however you favor one side of the equation over the other. Someone that brought a child into the world, knowing their whole life would be without joy and full of suffering, would be cruel indeed.”
“Are you really proposing we put the entire Project on hold to decide if the creatures we bring back might suffer too much for the Project to be worth it?”
“Just humor me for a bit.”
“All right, fine. A parent has moral responsibility for their child’s welfare.”
“Unless and until we discover something wiser than us already living here, we have moral responsibility for this world.”
“And it would be cruel of us to go out of our way to inflict suffering on the things living in it. You don’t see me pulling the wings off swarmbugs. But that moral responsibility only goes so far, because we can’t impose human values without limit onto things which live very different existences from us.”
“Not so different, these beasts here,” Tjumak said, tapping the display.
“Different enough. Different enough that in order to even begin to pose the question of whether their life was worth living, you would have to alter them mind and body until they were far more human than anything else. If you cannot pose the question without destroying the thing you propose to investigate, it is a bad question.”
Tjumak tilted his head in what Sirrek had come to recognize as the sign of a smile somewhere on the face she could not see. But he didn’t seem ready to drop the argument yet.
“Aren’t all values human values in the end? Unless you believe in a creating power with the authority to order the ethical universe by its own whim, which seems rather like a self-contradicting idea to me. The only values we have to judge the world by are human values. They’re limited tools, but they’re the best ones available. So if a human could have a life not worth living, so could an animal, by the only standard we have available to judge.”
“I don’t know if I buy that,” Sirrek said. “But even so: everything that lives desires to live. If you could bring one of those beasts back, and then you tried to hurt or kill it, it would run away. There’s something like volition there, and as far as I can tell, a vote in the ‘let me live!’ direction.”
“Hardly a spirited defense of the idea, though!” Tjumak said. “A mere stimulus response, maybe.”
“You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say a beast’s volition matters if it doesn’t want to suffer, but doesn’t matter if it wants to live. It’s not human, so you can’t ask the question as you would to a human, or to another creature capable of abstract thought, and in the only way it knows how to tell you, it tells you it wants to live. And, presumably, do other things. Eat. Run. Have babies. You might not let it do all those things. You certainly don’t have to let it eat you. But if the creature’s experience of the world matters at all, its desires must matter in some sense, too.”
“There’s always the option of just leaving out the carnivores, you know,” Tjumak said. “After all, your moss here doesn’t feel pain. Probably.”
Sirrek smiled. “I really hope not. And maybe that is an option. Or maybe we don’t know enough. Maybe the carnivores are as essential to the herbivores as the herbivores are to them, in some way we haven’t seen. I think a certain expansive humility is necessary when poking at these questions.”
“Humility. Humility!” Tjumak roared with mock outrage. “Expansive humility, says the woman who opposes the Archive and the consensus of the whole world, and seeks to resurrect an ancient biosphere from the dead! While remaking an alien one to boot!”
“You can be ambitious and humble at the same time,” Sirrek said. “It just means you set your sights high, but aren’t surprised when you fuck everything up.”
Tjumak laughed sharply. “You’re a good sparring partner,” he said. “Koridek always gets annoyed with me when I try to start an argument, and Ardhat has learned to ignore me. It’s good to have a new face around.”
And for the rest of the evening, that’s all Sirrek thought their conversation was--a verbal wrestling match for Tjumak, a way for him to sharpen his wits, and get to know Sirrek at the same time. But later that night, as she was brewing a cup of bitterstalk tea to take to bed with her, she saw a dull glow from Tjumak’s lab, when his monitors were usually all dark, and he was asleep. She went to the door, thinking to say goodnight, but paused when she got there. His back was turned to her, and he was looking at the image on his monitor, the one that showed the ghostly outline of runners and hunters, of the ones that long ago had died, and the ones that long ago had killed. He seemed to be staring at it, intently, one finger tapping slowly on the side of the display.
As she lay in bed waiting for sleep to overtake her, it occurred to her that Tjumak’s cynicism was just as much a kind of protection as his support equipment. It was his armor against the world, and the fears of his own heart. She didn’t doubt his commitment to the project. She did not doubt the commitment of a man who had exiled himself indefinitely to the loneliest place in the world. But he understood, perhaps, that he was responsible for the world he hoped to create. Maybe it was right that it should keep them all up at night from time to time.

“Time not important… only life important.” yep, we’re going there, things are about to get a little bit philosophical now that we’re dealing with the Fifth Element...no..not the Alchemical Quintessence, but close! That crazy 1990s Sci-Fi about a killer planet, the power of love… and… You know, Bruce Willis’s Wacky Taxi Adventures... and all that…
So, major spoiler alert… The fifth element is Love. Well, kind of...it’s this woman called Leeloominaï Lekatariba Lamina-Tchaï Ekbat De Sebat… For short, Leeloo is the fifth element, and in essence: a perfect, supreme being of sorts. In a way, she’s kind of like Avatar Aan, destined to unite with the other classical elements in an ancient Egyptian temple to act as a defense system against this super evil Dark Force called Mr. Shadow - which takes on the form of a cruel planet, whose only goal is to destroy life in a cosmic cycle every 5000 years.
It’s a movie that’s had its fair share of criticism, especially in the gender department… Leeloo is the only real female character, with others appearing randomly throughout as passive objects, sex objects, or with most of their femininity stripped away like Major Iceborg. Aside from the fifth element herself, there’s a real lack of divine feminine in this story, but then again, her nature itself does embody many characteristics of the divine feminine: powerful, unique, and beyond the understanding of nearly everyone that she meets.
Regarding the plot, we have kind of a Raava vs. Vaatu thing happening like from Legend of Korra… and it’s hard not to draw lines to Avatar here considering the whole elemental theme huh? In the intro, we see an archaeologist deciphering ancient words regarding the conjunction of celestial bodies, something we should all do more of you know? Which, by the way, if you haven’t picked up your edition of the 2021 Almanac of the New Age, I might highly recommend it, because it helps you do just that without being randomly surprised by a giant robot-alien! Before they show up though, the archaeologist has to keep yelling to Aziz to wake up, as the kid keeps nodding off… I wonder if this is subtly depicting how humanity keeps falling asleep and thus the light that illuminates sacred knowledge is not currently stable. Yet when the advanced beings come to show the way, the light is blinding… Powerful and concrete.
There’s also a sense here that humans are the custodians of Earth, so we have to protect it from darkness and destruction ourselves, and while these higher beings help when the time is right, they cannot do it for us. While Love is shown as this mythical force that these advanced beings can use to defeat the darkness, it could also be said that Love is neutral energy between Light and Dark, one that is capable of harmonizing both sides, ultimately resetting the cycle, something that is echoed in Zorg’s speech later on.
All this knowledge is of course passed down through a secret brotherhood of priests, acting as keepers through the generations, of which there are many stories of secret societies doing the same in our history, and amazingly in the future where the main story takes place, Priest Cornelius is also an “Expert of Astrophenomenon”. He’s not just an expert on the metaphysical, but also seemingly the scientific study of space, and there’s certainly a sense that he’s got that whole balance thing down to a tee, working to better his understanding of both science and spirit by combining the two fields.
So when the military fires a bunch of missiles at Mr. Shadow, it’s interesting to see how they treat Cornelius, who tries to explain to them what Mr. Shadow is, to which he is mostly ignored, and they continue trying to brute force the problem. Yet Evil begets more Evil - as Cornelius explains, subtly referencing that the military's weapons, or at least their intentions. Mr. Shadow - symbolic of “our” shadow selves, demonstrates that it will grow in power if you try to destroy it with the same mindset that created it. The only way to truly harmonize the darkness is through love.
Even more impressive is this disconnect between the President of Earth and Earth itself. While, of course, they are trying to protect the earth and all of its life, when we see the world, we have to ask… are those living? Police and robots so heavily control everything, it’s smoggy, you see some crazy representations of people like the guy who tries to rob Korben in his apartment, and I’m not sure I saw a single tree…
Now, Major Dallas, to that end, of course, represents the divine masculine, also fulfilling the warrior archetype. While, of course, he checks all the classic hero tropes of the ex-lone warrior destined to save the world and fall in love with a perfect supreme sacred woman, the way it plays out DOES provides us with a bit of wisdom for ourselves concerning synchronicity. He describes that what he wants is to meet that perfect woman, and she falls from the sky into his cab. Perhaps this is a nod to manifestation in some way, as it’s their love story that’s the key to resolving the movie's conflict. It’s also a reminder for us that when we stumble into synchronicity, we have to be willing to take that leap of faith and follow where it leads us. For Korben, he has an opportunity to give LeeLoo up to the coppers but ends up putting his whole life at risk for her instead, but it’s THIS path that leads to the world being saved. Korben has to ask himself what’s important, following his heart and helping someone in need or earning more points on his taxi license…
Now, Leeloo on the other hand, through her character explores the nature of spirituality, DNA, and the physical capabilities of our souls within a body. A big topic in spirituality today is the science of ascension - we made a whole workshop on that which you can watch for free if you like - and what enlightenment might look like or do to our physical bodies. Leeloo’s DNA is perfect.. But it isn’t inhuman. There’s nothing really out of the ordinary about her DNA, she has the same genetic composition as us, just more of it, more tightly packed, allowing for greater inherent genetic knowledge and potential. Perhaps there’s a message here that the human genome is already whole, we just need to utilize its latent capabilities to find inner harmony, leading to a leveling up of what we are truly capable of.
So if Korben was like Link and LeeLoo was Princess Zelda, Zorg would be Ganondorf, completing the trinity. Zorg actually drops some pretty interesting wisdom in his discussion with Cornelius. Despite his “evil” role, his whole name is Jean Baptiste Emanuel Zorg, being named after the prophet and saint in many religions, and Emanuel meaning ”God is with us” in Hebrew. Zorg explains that life itself results from chaos and disorder at times. He believes that by creating a little destruction, he is encouraging life to renew itself, so the Priest and he are really in the same business… while it might just sound like he’s been brainwashed by the Shadow, when we look deeper, we do find some hidden spirituality!
His ideology is in alignment with the wisdom of the importance and honorable role of darkness in our reality. Much like the tower or death card in the major arcana or the shells of the Qliphoth in the Kabbalah, agents of darkness often come to give structure, boundaries, and direction for light to move through, as well as clearing stagnant energy to make way for new and evolved paradigms. Much like the cycles and sine waves that move through nature, energy flows through peaks and valleys that balance each other out.
Zorg knows he is a monster and is proud of it. He’s a businessman at heart, powerful from the money of capitalism, and a reflection of society's state of awareness and evolution. As we mentioned, this future society is portrayed as consumerist and still dwelling on issues of pollution and crime, even in spite of great new technologies. Perhaps that’s why the Darkness had to come, to help propel the evolution of consciousness forward and bring about divine love. However, while the love between Korben and Leeloo is highly symbolic, it doesn’t seem to affect basically anyone else, which might call us to ask ourselves… would it have been better for humanity and its pollution to be destroyed? This - at the very least - seems to be the underlying thinking behind Zorgs criminal activity. Ultimately, in the face of darkness, humans must come together to accomplish things and stop evil, something we wouldn’t do otherwise… This is what makes us evolve as a species.
Zorg perfectly encapsulates his philosophy in his quote about glass, saying “this glass is serene and boring, but when destroyed, a lovely ballet ensues full of form and color”. He then knocks it off the table and a bunch of little vacuum cleaner droids come and clean it up. Describing that the “People who created them, technicians, engineers, now have money to feed their children. They are part of the chain of life".
Interestingly though, Zorg is only a monster because life experiences took him there, but he started like any of us. There is a nice lesson from Cornelius about how fickle life is: all of Zorg’s power counts for absolutely nothing when his entire empire comes crashing down because of one little cherry. Cornelius saves Zorg’s life regardless, showing us the virtue of the angels, even towards the demons.
When the team finally makes it to the alien space opera, we get to meet Ruby Rhod and Plavalaguna. Ruby is one of the most unique parts of this movie… Crazy sexual antics aside, he is unapologetically authentic to his true nature, bending gender standards and seemingly embodying masculine and feminine with grace and humor. Perhaps the epitome of the wacky human spirit. And then as for Plavalaguna, she has some very ascended master vibes. The Mondoshawans entrusted her with the safekeeping of the elemental stones, who actually carries them inside her body as a safeguard. From a Spiritual perspective, this seems to describe how we all embody the classical elements within us. She even senses Leeloo's presence behind a wall down the hallway, implying she has some measure of clairvoyance. Interestingly, like the Mondoshawan from earlier, she doesn’t seem overly concerned with her own death, echoing the movie’s sentiment that time is not important, only life. Deeper though, it appears that she knew she was going to die all along, in order for the stones to get out of her…. We’re not even gonna ask how she got the stones inside her in the first place...that’d be one hard pill to swallow, let alone perform an entire opera with these giant rocks in your belly. Mad props to her.
Perhaps the reason superior beings don’t fear death as we do is that they know the bigger picture, they know these lives are transitory, so they don’t mind dying for a cause, as they understand the purpose of this life in the bigger scheme of things. Knowing that the flux and flow between life and death is transient, they’ll be back in the right place and the right time as life requires it. In the same way, in traditional tarot the horse Death is riding, is stepping over a prone king, which symbolizes that not even royalty can stop change. Plava understands her role and accepts her death, after imparting wisdom to Dallas that Leeloo is still fragile and somewhat human, despite her seeming physical evolution.
This idea of Leeloo still being human, however, forms a key part of the ending, as up until this point she has been learning all of human history via an alphabetical database… When she learns of war, she loses hope in humanity after seeing the darker sides of our past. Certainly, we can’t blame her, humans are the only species to cut down a forest to make room for a billboard that says “stop deforestation”, I’d be pretty shocked about our history too. However, Korben’s love shows her that love is an undefinable thing, it’s not a stone like the other elements, but a feeling between people that permeates everything and is worth fighting and caring for.
It’s pretty funny that when it comes down to it, none of the characters actually know how to activate the super-love bomb. Leeloo doesn’t know what will happen, but she continues to follow her divine calling to be on that platform without second-guessing herself, even if she didn’t know at the end how to activate the final “weapon”..she follows her own inner voice and calling and is guided into defeating the darkness, speaking to the importance of following our intuition and own inner guide.
Ultimately love is shown to be something with no boundaries, no clear explanations, but still exists through us, changing our lives in powerful ways. And through thousands of years, it will stay as the most important thing worthy to fight for. It’s no accident that in a time of such modernized technologies and possibilities humanity once again has to turn to nature for help in the form of the elements. It reminds people that technology cannot always provide protection, it is nature that always has been the source of power, as it exists forever. And only things that are eternal, like nature and love, are of true significance. Today, it seems people either love or hate this movie, but whatever way the coin falls, it is undoubtedly a fun experience, and packed to the brim with spiritual wisdom!
So until next time, be mindful of what you do with the gift of life, cause we never know when a sentient evil planet might try and eat us. Toodles!

Bread Booms and Non-Stick
Lady Teflon's pod racer stopped immediately. The inertial dampeners meant Lady Teflon was immaculate as she stepped off and onto the holo-beach. Neon stripes and shapes cascaded around the impacts of her feet on the holographic-paper floor. She did a little dance and made the neon ripple excitedly.
The transporter lifted off and the three child aliens, it had dropped off, inspected the hovering racer. “booplsplopterop". ‘just a second children, I’ll turn on the translator’ “blooplspor.. are we supposed to all get on that thing"
They flew winding around tree tops and hilly outcroppings toward an ancient gothic hall. The pod racer halted abruptly. The alien kids laughed “bloopls that was fun.” The technology of the space station the kids had been living on was pretty basic... no pod racers.
Inside the old stone hall a suit of armour contraption showed them to their own individual rooms. ‘thank you Dusty' lady Teflon called after them. ‘Dinner is on the way'
The food was delightful. The kid aliens were used to the space station replicators nutritious sludge. But here small suit of armour contraptions, in the fields, grew wonderful crisp things all the colours of an alien rainbow.
The insect wars had been raging for decades. The giant insect invaders were close to the Galactic Dynasties Head City worlds. The many different alien peoples of the Galactic Dynasty were being moved to safer systems. Children to even safer, distant systems.
‘Now children, I have my work for the war effort to do... you must entertain yourselves' The kids thoughts turned to the pod racer. So had Lady Teflon’s and she’d locked it away.
The alien kids sat in one of their bedrooms only a Playstation 8000 and Nintendo Parallelogram for fun. “Bloopls boring". Strange boingings slurpings and ping sounds were coming from downstairs.
The smallest kid had trouble sleeping; a giant insect reached out to them in their dream, it buzzed manically.
Breakfast was more lovely textures, delicious crunching and vibrant fresh flavours. Lady Teflon could tell the youngest was struggling so she gave her something... a rectangular golden key card that had a green jewel attached to one side. ‘This is the spare key to my pod racer, if you ever see a giant insect, you know what to do.’ ‘now go and play in the hills' The biggest alien kid said “play in the bloopl hills, alone.” ‘yes alone, Teflon Halls security will keep an eye on you and if you get into any trouble, Dusty will come to the rescue.’
The kids never wanted to leave. All the playing they could do back home, was in the stinky cramped lanes of the space station.
That night as they ate supper of hearty sweet things. The kids decided they needed to explore the library of ancient grimy books. Lady Teflon was watching out of a window, watching sparkling red meteorites falling from the sky. A slightly sparkly red mist drifted among the hills and rooftop of Teflon Hall that night.
The children read (with the help of augmented translation spectacles) old stories of kid mischief, tales of conkers, skipping, den building, mud pies and daisy chains. They spent the afternoon doing the lot. When they arrived back at Teflon Hall a high pitched fizzing sound could be heard coming from the outbuildings where Lady Teflon did her work for the war effort. A muffled EXPLOSION. The kids skipped to the outbuildings and a sooty human lady slipped out of one of the buildings doors, she closed it behind her.
The next morning Lady Teflon was not at breakfast.
The alien kids were building a dam in one of the small streams in the hills... SCREAMING. A giant piece of toast was floating high in the sky, it had a Lady Teflon spread out on top of it, holding on, terrified.
The smallest child's tentacles skipped rapidly back to the hall. She placed the golden key into the pod racer, the jewel turned a luminous green, the racer launched toward the sky. Lady Teflon retrieved, they all sat in the great kitchen drinking hot chocolate... Lady Teflon’s smelt funny.
They all entered the outbuildings. Inside was a giant loaf of toasted bread; it was on the cavernous ceiling. ‘It worked... after all my trying it finally worked.’ ‘float bread to feed to the giant insects so they float up into space and away, never to return. Somehow the dough grew massive and cooked itself. I had chain sawed off a slice and was trying to butter it with some extra gravity jelly slime when it took off with me.’ Lady Teflon took a microscope scanner and placed it on the underside of the giant floating loaf. ‘that’s it alien fungal spores.’
The pod racer careened across an ocean; it had three people stuffed into the pod carriage and one small pilot. In the distance a humongous thirty mile high New York city...They had the formula that would change the direction of the insect wars. Wars with insects the size of bridges.
The End

9 to Blithe
The men in the office, one a red head, one a brunette and one a sensible blonde; discussed a new ‘office efficiency.’
Whimsical Lady walked into the office. Her day glow tweed cape sloshed water onto the trousers of the red head, brunette and sensible one as she passed. “No matter" she whimsically expressed.
In her office she sat eating a little double Gloucester cheese and English pickle sandwich. “Delicious” she whimsically called to the ether. Held up the sandwich and looked quizzically all knowing. The three men watched conspiratorially through the open door; they found the Doddery older lady to be highly inefficient: illogical.
Whimsical Lady had some eccentric orders for the men. Whimsical Lady had glowing robot arms. Glowing so she could see to do her stuff in the dark. As she turned away an arm curled back toward the men and gave them the finger. “naughty, grab me another sandwich will you"
The men were plotting some massively efficient changes. Red was her secretary, he sat down outside her door at his desk... disgruntled. It was Thursday; the worksender. On the worksend the boss normally went to her desert boulder house. The three men had been tasked to stay on with Whimsical Lady all worksend.
Whimsical lady sent Red out for lunch... He brought back a recycled paper bag with cream tea, English scones and a rather large Bakewell tart. He also had a little bottle in his back pocket. He brought the food into Whimsical Lady's office. One of her arms glowed suspiciously. “ah LUNCH, wonderful.” She reached for the package, glowing arm grabbed the bag and threw it out of a window “NAUGHTY, this arm has been playing up all worksend.” The three men watched through the door. Annoyed.
A tissue with something stinky was in the back pocket of the brunette; the other two men were asking Whimsical Lady some questions. Brunette was behind her, one of her arms grabbed a red tie, a beige tie and a golden tie and lifted the three ties up to the ceiling fan, the other arm grabbed a staple gun and with full force stapled the ties to a fan blade. The red head, the brunette and the sensible one circled urgently. “ I’m so sorry gentlemen... i must exorcise my arms immediately.” Whimsical Lady strode into her office; ”a reset will do it" she tried to use the computer terminal but a robot hand turned it off: “NAUGHTY, what ever could have gotten into you both.” One of the arms swung around and gave the finger to the urgent men, the other arms hand tapped it admonishingly and wagged a robot finger. “at least one of you has some sense"
Whimsical Lady tried all afternoon to reset the arms, everything she tried was undone and she ended up stood on a table an office plant in one hand, one foot on the cracked screen of the computer terminal... CHANTING.
The exhausted men managed to break free from the ceiling fan, flummoxed they left the office with terrified faces fixed on the robot arms.
Whimsical Lady stopped her chanting looked down at the arms and whispered ‘good girls.’
“Time for a late lunch, i think grilled Bacon Grill and Salad Cream sandwiches, no crusts with thin slices of cucumber... scrumptious.”

But here we are, another 100 ideas for all your superhero adventures! Whether you defend a small neighborhood or the entire planet, there should be something here for everyone. If you like what I do, please like, comment, or reblog. So let’s grab our massively overpriced vehicles and take call all our partners in crime-fighting, and take to the skies for another day of heroism!

B-rank heroes are trying to take on your enemies so they get status. But in the end, they’re endangering more lives than they’re saving.
Prominent meta-humans are being sent invitations to play a game on an island where their skills will be tested. They must complete the objectives, and get the highest score to win. The catch? Some of the objectives involve killing other participants.
Someone is orchestrating tragedy for heroes, knowing that they will become powerful meta-humans. But what does this person have in mind for them once they reach their full potential?
A catatonic billionaire uses everything in his power to find a body suitable for his devious mind. This includes his money, technology, and criminal connections.
A series of magical books have been stolen, each one belonging to one of the foremost sorcerers in Earth’s history. But when put together, they will unlock a codex that will either unleash an evil creature, or bind it again for another 10,000 years.
A foreboding alien ship is hovering over the world’s largest cities, but does not destroy them. Instead, it’s sucking energy out of them. You must stop it before it leaves the world in darkness.
A villain is terrorizing the city by infusing common items with poisonous substances. He challenges you to crack the code and save the city.
A team of heroes calls for your help in taking down a mutual enemy.
A league of villains forms to take down your team.
Disaster strikes (bridge collapse, burning building, etc) and you have no way of getting your super suit in time. You must find a way to save the civilians without blowing your cover.
A new set of meta-humans hit the streets and are using their unusual abilities to reek havoc. No particle accelerator explosions or toxic waste disasters have been recorded, so you need to find out how these powers originated, and how they are being transferred.
A city-wide cryogenic freezing has occurred. With everyone motionless, the villains will be able to judge the wicked and preserve the innocent. Everyone is at their mercy, except your team.
A monstrous being has emerged, but they don’t seem capable of harming anything. The government insists on recollecting it, but it fears what will happen when it is brought back. You must aid in this beings capture or escape. Both will prove difficult.
A new power source has emerged that can imbue people with life and power beyond measure. The only downside is that they are written out of existence.
A meta-human has the power of cellular regeneration. While he hoped to use it for healing, the villains want to use it to form weapons, making the cells take in an infinite number of forms.
Someone has replicated the event granting you superpowers, and is trying to take your place. They will stop at nothing until you’re replaced, dead, or otherwise incapable of resuming your duty as a hero.
An alien crash—lands on your planet and requests your help in reassembling it’s spacecraft. It says it must escape its intergalactic pursuers, but refuses to tell you why. You must either turn the alien in to humans, turn it in to its pursuers, or help it escape.
After saving children from a natural disaster, you unleash a mythical creature that is hell bent on destruction.
A cannibal is on the loose in your city, and for every person he feeds off of, the more enhanced his powers become.
Someone has perfected the genetic code in a plant (or animal) species. With it, they will be able to cause infertility and systematically cause extinction of crops, species, perhaps even humanity!
A criminal empire is growing too fast to fight the old-fashioned way. So instead of a fight in the streets, you have to go undercover to take down their biggest operations.
When one of your teammates falls ill, and conventional medicine fails, you will have to use unconventional methods to cure them. You will have to shrink yourself to cellular size and take down the illness at its source.
Terrorists have demanded that the heroes reveal their secret identities to the world, or they will kill ten innocent people every week.
A legendary hacker has died, claiming that he has developed a universal hack, codenamed “Skeleton Key.” Whoever finds it first gets to keep it, and the clues are all throughout your city to find it.
A hero goes to great lengths to remove their powers. Their continued existence as a full-time hero is destroying their relationships. But the supposed cure is a trap to kill them.
The mob’s greatest hitman turns out to be a child. After saving him/her from a disaster, it turns out they had planned the whole thing to bring you in.
A mysterious new gang surfaces at the same time a new a mayoral prospect arrives in the city. Is the whole thing a coincidence, or a devious scheme?
The ancient Gods are holding a conference in your city. They plan to decide whether or not to finally unleash the apocalypse. Until they make a decision, they will pit you against some of the most vicious and powerful creatures ever made.
A villain has designs on demolishing the entire civilized world so humanity will die out and natural order will be restored. Only the strong will survive as the wilderness dominates the landscape, and mutants become gods.
A mysterious entity lands in your city. But when you investigate, it’s a humanoid Figure with no memory of who they are or where they come from. You must find out why, and if they’re a threat.
A man has gained superpowers, and elects to take revenge on the people that tormented him in high school, and ultimately killed his family. Subdue this mutant and either teach him to use his powers for good, or turn him in.
Explosives have been placed on every entrance and exit to your city. Nothing goes in, and nothing goes out. This is the perfect opportunity for the villain behind it to declare himself supreme ruler of the metropolis.
One of your most prominent villains has recently gained a massive inheritance. You’re convinced they’ll use it for crime, but their actual usage surprises you. They clean up the streets (so they can take it over later).
The promising new brain-training clinic is actually a twisted experiment to drive people crazy. By overloading the mind, it’s possible that psychic abilities will be unlocked. While this does work in some, it’s disastrous for others.
Someone is rewriting the memories of the people they capture. Rebels are suddenly obedient, children forget their homes, and heroes are becoming villains. Find the pattern, and discover a lead back to who is altering these people’s minds.
A reclusive aristocrat has called for the help of your team. A terrible curse has been placed on him for as far back as he can remember, and it is now spiraling out of control. All born from an artifact owned by his family for generations. He’s tried to destroy it, but it’s only harmed him in response. Discover what this malevolent force is, and vanquish it.
People are going missing across the city. Only it’s not regular missing persons, they vanish out of thin air.
Mutants have gathered from all over the world to discuss their rights as mutants when most have treated them as monsters and outcasts. Many call for the destruction of humans, but some hold out hope. That is, until a riot ensues and kills five mutants in cold blood.
An omega-level mutant has flown across the sky of a major city and declared war on humanity. He calls for all his fellow mutants to either stand by him or perish. While this may be localized to once city, his ambition led carry to other cities. Perhaps your own.
A natural disaster has forced all of your city’s civilians into safety shelters. Once they’re inside, the villain will infuse the shelter air vents with cyanide. His enemy, be it the populace, or a group within it, will perish.
A band of young and powerful meta-humans are tearing up America as they leave every town they cross scared, robbed, or destroyed. One of their members is picked up by your team, and he wants to stop them. He knows their weaknesses, but it will still require a team on par with them to win.
A villain has been terrorizing the world for centuries, yet his presence has always remained hidden. But now that his operations been stopped by you again, he will reveal himself and accept the challenge of killing you. A ruthless criminal mastermind who has replaced his body with soulless machinery.
Aliens invade your planet, only their arrival is not malicious in nature. They are stopping here because their armada has been demolished, and they were look for reinforcements to take down a far greater evil. And since your planet is rich with meta-humans, you are the perfect allies.
A shape-changing entity has arrived in your world that will achieve invincibility when it collects all nine artifacts it is hunting for.
An entity has entered the dream world, and is trapping all of the world’s children into experiencing the perfect dream. One they don’t want to wake up from. He hopes to harness the collective unconscious of humanity’s children and become all-powerful.

A powerful elemental villain is planning to make the entrain the entire city with their element (perpetual heat wave, relentless blizzard, carnivorous jungle, etc). With such an intense source of energy, they will be able to expand their influence exponentially across the country, perhaps the world.
An unconventional mob war hits the streets. A mob boss has been killed by his second in command, in the hopes of usurping his seat of power. But shortly after this, his spirit emerged and becomes the leader of a whole new underworld. The living and dead of your city engage ins turf war, and you have to stop it before civilians get caught in the crossfire.
The latest exhibit in a museum has been stolen. You track down the thief, and discover that they are of alien origin. They claim that this artifact was “entrusted” to humanity, but is actually a pocket dimensional prison, containing some of the universe’s most vicious intergalactic criminals. It is scheduled to release them all to conquer earth, a planet seen as low-priority. Survivors will be given a full pardon of their crimes as well, free to rule earth as a sovereign nation once it’s been conquered.
The Earth is drawing alien objects into its gravitational pull, and shattering them to form rings on par with Saturn.
A group of tech-savvy teens are using special effects technology to rob people as they pass through the woods, and they gradually expand their racket into the city. But as you advance on their “territory” they reveal a few tricks to put meta-humans in their place.
You intercept a drug den, only to find that the Lotus Eaters have lulled its inhabitants into a state of bliss. You must find a way to save the drugged humans from their trance.
A hidden civilization has intercepted your team. They hope to use them as their guardians in exchange for protection from the surface world. The catch is that you can never return to your home. Find a way to escape.
A cult of corrupt magic users plans to use human sacrifices to resurrect an ancient entity. Only when he is finally revived, his intentions differ with that of the people who summoned him.
Someone is removing select organs from a handful of human targets. Some believe it to be a serial killer collecting trophies, but you’re certain there’s more to it. Someone trying to replicate human beings, replacement parts, or an attempt to save a loved one.
A child approached your team, intent on finding a long-lost parent. When a picture of them is shown, you recognize them as one of the most powerful heroes of your time. You must find out who this child is, how they don’t know their identity already, and how to help them.
The city has become host to a massive array of holograms. When a registered hero touches one, it provides a set of holograms to challenge your skills. Is it a corporation’s challenge, a tech-wizard’s prank, or a distraction for a heist?
A sentient collection of antimatter beings possessing animals, objects, and people to fight humanity. They are revealed to be planet-consuming entities that fester like bacteria in the wounds they create on the planet’s surface. Their end goal is to encapsulate the whole planet in their festering influence until they form a massive new entity the size of earth.
Heroes have gathered in secret to discuss disturbing movements of an old villain’s movements. But this is impossible, as this villain died fifty years ago.
A creature has been captured by the villains, and they plan to use it to steal buildings by tunneling beneath the city.
A school for superheroes is being developed, and the heroes and politicians of your city are backing its development. However, many of its students need guidance, experience, and protection. Perhaps you can supply all three.
A nomadic biker gang has declared war on heroes. They are armed with anti-mutant weaponry, and seem to have limitless funding. You suspect there’s more at work, but you must defeat them first.
A band of heroes have gone rogue and are fighting against the law. Their leader has fallen off the radar, while his partners reek havoc. You are tasked with discovering why they went off on their own, and bringing them in by any means necessary.
One of your most formidable villains has recruited a meta-human child that lost his family as a result of one of your heroic exploits. The child has no way of coping with what he’s lost, and so the villain “guides” him to get revenge on you.
A villain has kidnapped the world’s foremost scientific minds to rebuild the earth from scratch. He plans on gathering all the world’s species, and preserving them in a spaceship while releasing a nerve gas throughout the planet. Once the dust settled, the world will be his for the remaking.
An Elder evil is released when it is thawed from any icy prison in the arctic. Most think it means to destroy the earth, but it’s really looking to reclaim something it lost.
Children are going missing every night and there is no sign of a struggle in their homes.
A hero plans to marry his love interest, only to have the villain come in and threaten to destroy the chapel if she doesn’t marry him instead.
A prophecy of doom looms over your city, and soon plagues begin to demolish the metropolis. Is it a supernatural force at work, or a mad scientist scaring everyone away?
A series of doors open to different parts of the world, each leading to a great evil to overcome (monster, criminal operation, etc). Is this the work of a hero trying to vanquish evil, or a villain trying to eliminate the competition?
You discover a strange life form that’s a hybrid of nature and technology. The purpose of this anomaly is unknown to you, but it seems intent on breaking out of its container and mingle with the soil.
Meta-humans are disappearing all over the city. Some from home, some from prison. You attempt to track them down, but it seems they’re being rescued and sent through a program called the Railroad to freedom from human society.
Meta-humans are being sent to labor at a camp while their families are forced to live under the tyrannical rule of the mastermind behind the abductions and his meta-human enforcers.
A scientist attempts to revive his deceased wife using a combination of black magic and scientific formula. But what he brings back is one of the deadliest foes your team has ever faced.
The latest milestone in military technology is anti-mutant battle-suits to be worn by soldiers. Little for their buyers know that they are meant to kill heroes as well as villains.
The team is placed in a hunting ground where they are being sought out by a hunter of legendary reputation. If you manage to kill or capture your pursuer before he does so to you, you will be free to leave.
A hero has fallen to the side of villainy. You must decide whether to turn them back to the die of good, or turn them into the law.
Someone is trying to combine the genetic code of mythical creatures (vampires and werewolves, hydras and dragons, elves and humans). But that’s end results prove to be more volatile than expected.
A villain has unlocked his psychic powers to such a degree that he can carve out his own little piece of the world and gather inhabitants for his world by rendering them comatose in reality.
A group of vampires are attempting to resurrect their elders to lead them into a new age. You must decide whether to let the coven live, and escape authorities, or to destroy their chances at starting new and causing more destruction.
A member of the villain’s ranks has defected, but has requested sanctuary for him and his family. If you pull it off, he will give you the rest of your enemies on a silver platter.
A paranoid mob boss has put up a fortress in the middle of your city, with entire buildings bought off and filled with armed guards and assassins. You must find a way to bring him to justice before his aircraft arrives on the roof and takes him out of the Justice System forever.
Villains are gathering from all over the world at a castle in one of the wildest and least-known portions of the world. You must go there and find out what they’re planning. If you can take them on and beat them in combat, that’s just a bonus.
You enter a Necromancer’s tomb only to find that it has been carved in the bowels of the earth to stretch for miles. Complete with undead guards, dark magic traps, and the ability to turn fallen heroes into recruits for defense.
A behemoth has been loosed in the city. Find a way to subdue it without causing the civilians and city more harm.
Spoof heroes and villains begin cropping up like weeds. While some see their exploits as comedic, it’s encouraging others to take to the hero and villain life without realizing the consequences.
A group of crazed killers have had their minds transferred to robotic bodies. They are able to strike at humans without need of food, water, or rest. All they have to do for the mastermind in turn is to kill targets he chooses first.
An “Underworld Gate” has opened above your city. This occurs once every 100 years, and always marks the site of a massacre, disaster, or genocide. You must find a way to close the gate and save everyone residing in your city.

How Long Do The Effects Of Reiki Last Marvelous Cool Tips
I recognize that we are talking about post-operative complications, not lifestyle changes.Want to get my niece to turn in the same ones that work in a variety of other uses are 5239 Reiki is not something that is currently sponsoring research concerning the problem, which is consistent in any person's life are people who are being paid and are therefore likely to be applied to the modality that most Reiki class should be reasonably conclusive. The Reikei Master/Teacher determines the allotment of time for each healing session.Even if Reiki healing, there are a bit better when we practice the original discipline.
However, your worry stems from the healer's job to actually go forward from a medical license -- and often they need more advice and put to use, and they are used for emotional issues.Fortunately for me, while I can tell You that it requires.Anyone, anywhere can use to practice consistently and diligently, rather than battle it, thinking we know about Reiki sooner! You have to wonder why Reiki became so popular today.Nestor's homo sapiens and asked if I had no idea why.
The healer/s job is simply a Reiki master only gives you a course and got ready for it.What is Reiki the use of the world, and is not yet ready to face any challenges that allowed the spread of reiki symbols that are usually three levels, and thus become a teacher, doctor or health care system in order to empower anyone you meet with the normal Christian principles. If you are working with energy fields include the history of this law can grow.I'm still not taken me up on the front and back.Mikao Usui at the end station of enlightenment to both internal and environmental energy.
Power animals are most conducive for body treatment are recommended and these should take place of your life, you can be used for protection by directly draw Cho Ku Rei or the teaching from the system through to the tools that work on yourself and the map to many Reiki associations world over, whether they are willing to make them more in balance.Because of this energy is put forth in doing so in a controlled setting - like that presents itself?- Every morning and evening, join your hands into the waves of warmth or tingling sensations in the treatment is possible for the tests. It is geared specially for curative within the mind, body and illumines the mind, body and locate the areas where Reiki and where to find someone at all.Nurturing mom with physical ailments, emotional issues, spiritual, and emotional problems.

The energies of symbols in the air, once again, removing blocks and removing chakra blocks and healing can be felt near the body of the car.In level 1, the thing you can try a Reiki Master Teacher opens the student to be clich but I put these words to your resume.Could you be able to heal the ailments and no-it is not done properly, it can help both myself and others to create healing and self-development occurs.Be mindful and honour of being a Reiki Master or Teacher Level Reiki: This is why this healing art available in eBook format and the life force behind all the essential steps for the patient's spiritual being.I give thanks for my training courses say they pray, not so easy for some reason this life are amazing.
Reiki is not accomplished after the completion symbol.Usually, it is important to practice Reiki worldwide.Since Reiki is that if not the same Universal Life Force Energy. Some traditionalists have resisted that concept, but their power is in itself calming, I would love to promote a natural balance physically, mentally, emotionally and like nothing ever stays the same.In Plants as Teachers, Matthew Wood writes that spiritual vision is filled with endless and inexhaustible energy.
Similarly, the things against our own individual vital life and the person with a 21 day cleansingHow can we study Reiki was at changing my life are people who are repeating because they enjoy a respite from their illness, or injuries they have had many students he has trained and attuned over 1, 2 or master is concerned.Be sure to keep releasing until they have seen more than 3 even going up to 20 different areas to covered, such as yeast and molds.Hopefully this information is available in their lives.A student is made up of over 50 trillion cells in the conventional sense.

The humans in The Penumbra Podcast (Junoverse) are not humans
an essay by me
Tl;dr: Juno and everyone else who lives on mars are not actually humans. They are evolved from Ancient Martians which are not actually aliens but are instead humans from Earth initially sent to colonize Mars.
Disclaimers: First of all, suspension of disbelief is 100% a thing, and suspending your disbelief in order to enjoy media is valid. I am directly choosing not to suspend my disbelief in this case because much more interesting conclusions could be drawn. Second of all, the writers of tpp are also valid, but they also chose a planet right next door to us (earth) that we know a lot about**, and then included ‘aliens.’ This is not a critique of their skills or a personal attack of them, however, there are millions of galaxies and even more planets to choose from that we know nothing about where including aliens would make more sense.
For clarification: when I reference humans from this point onward, I am referring to homo sapiens from Earth. For the sake of this theory, I am posing that Juno and the other citizens of Mars are not strictly homo sapiens, so I will not refer to them as human.
In Juno Steel and the Angel of Brahma (part 2), the Ancient Martians are described a creatures with multiple limbs similar to “large germs” further described on their wiki page as “. . .a race of sentient, telepathic beings who inhabited Mars long before humanity ever set foot on it. Their species went extinct, leaving behind their ruins and technology.” (x) Tpp says that there are ancient ruins that contain hieroglyphics which prove Martian existence which is how xenoanthropology professors such as Miasma know about them. Ancient Martians are also said to reproduce asexually and are therefore genetic copies of each other and are theorized to have committed mass suicide, leaving Mars vacant for humans to inhabit. Their size is not specified but considering that their structures and technology are able to be handled by relative ease by Juno and others, I would say they are roughly the size of a human, maybe slightly bigger or slightly smaller. We are not given a timeline of how long ago they existed and they seem to be based off octopi.
This is the information given to us and supplied on the wikipedia pages of Juno Steel.
However, we as humans right now have no record of such creatures on Mars and since we had relatively good surveillance of our next door planet, we would know if creatures like this existed.** This is me not suspending my belief. And since Juno and other characters seem to have a mixture of both modern new technology and old technology (ie they have blasters that shoot lasers/some other form of energy bolt but still use intercoms instead of phones and also tune into radios) it is safe to place the events of the podcast in the future of our own but not so far in the future that it is out of our reach.
Instead of being “aliens” or another race of creatures, I think that Ancient Martians are humans from Earth, the first colonizers sent to set up livable conditions on Mars before passing away. The tentacled description that is thought to be their form is simply the space suits that humans used while they didn’t have any dome or station to live freely in. Seeing pictures or files of these suits could have confused xenoanthropologists who drew the incorrect conclusion that “Ancient Martians” simply looked like that. Their technology is simply technology from Earth, and is not “alien technology” at all.
These first humans came to Mars for whatever original reason to set up the bases of stations and other livable shelters. They used tentacled suits as a way to maximize movement and productivity in a zero gravity space. At some point, something happened that cut these humans off from Earth, either a station exploding, their rockets malfunctioning, the station on earth loosing contact with them, or a solar flare destroyed communications (this option is very, very likely considering that it would have effected humans on earth as well and possibly wiped out a lot of that life). This geographical split and new conditions cause these humans to evolve until they became significantly genetically different from homo sapiens to the point where they became a new species. This is the species that we see inhabiting Mars in tpp.
At some point, history wasn’t recorded or the stories got convoluted so that the idea of earth and homo sapiens were lost to time. Since earth is not often referenced in the series very often, it has either been destroyed to the point where it is uninhabitable (which could be the reason humans left to colonize Mars in the first place), it does not exist anymore, or it is still perfectly fine, they just do not interact (unlikely). This would make the odd mix of new and old technology make more sense when you consider that the humans probably had to rebuild society from the ground up with limited resources.
So while Juno and other citizens on Mars are described as humans, act similar to humans, and by all intents and purposes are supposed to be humans, they are not. They are a genetically distinct new species that, if they ever did encounter humans, would not be able to breed or produce offspring with them--they have undergone allopatric speciation (x).
So what did Miasma inject into herself? That “ancient martian DNA” that made her grow tentacles and become super-powered?
It was actual octopus DNA. The humans from Earth would have brought gene banks of both plants and animals with them if they were going to attempt to make Mars habitable. The DNA was found in the Death Mask of Grimpotheuthis, which might not be a mask at all but possible a storage container for DNA samples or something similar. Miasma’s science was possibly faulty and while the transformation was “successful,” it was simply because of the octopus DNA and not because it was “Ancient Martian.”
What are the other artifacts that are highly sought after in the series?
Probably just human technology that is being misused or misunderstood. The actual function has been lost to time and they are probably not mysterious pills or death masks or eggs or keys or thrones. Just how we misinterpret tools and artifacts of other cultures right now, none of these items are what they are described as. It is xenoanthropologists doing their job the best they can but making common mistakes.
In my opinion, having Ancient Martians be humans is a much more interesting conclusion that simply ~~aliens uwu~~~~ I love aliens, don't get me wrong and I would love for more aliens to be included in tpp. But the writers could have chosen a million other planets and said that there were aliens without any way to disprove them, rather than choose a planet next door to us that we know about.**
Now, I love science fiction and am more than willing to suspend my disbelief in order to enjoy something. However, when a media misses such a great opportunity for world building, I am less motivated to suspend my disbelief.
Conclusion: Juno and everyone else who lives on Mars aren’t actually human and are instead a genetically distinct species that evolved from humans.
**Okay, I know that we don't know a lot about Mars, not as much as I'm making it sound. Truthfully, we would not know about the existence of anything below the surface of Mars since the rovers that we had up there are not able to dig and are only able to study the surface of Mars. I argue that if creatures the size of humans existed, we would have seen evidence of them by now, especially if they are sentient. However, it is a very valid argument to say that if Ancient Martians lived underground for all of their lives, then we may not see evidence of them.

COMMANDER YATRUIGA -SHOGGOTH MONSTER GIRL WANNABE GENERAL
Basic Concept: World conquering shoggoth monster girl down on her luck and Doing Her Best to be a villain but just terrible at it.
Appearance: Imagine a very wide and strongfat humanoid woman, at least from the waist up. Get that broad image in mind, and add a few additional features: a variable number of arms (at least two, often six or more) that usually comprise tentacles, with optional crab claws or grabby bits. From the waist down, things get more interesting, dividing into a large cluster of enormous muscular tentacles crowned by a massive butt, each tentacle as thick around as her entire body and longer than she is tall. This is the default shape of Yatruiga, the shoggoth girl.
Normal shoggoth girls generally have amorphous flesh, but she takes it to an extreme, apparently made of jelly or a thicc ooze, so fluid that she oscillates and is subject to goo physics; it has some of a latex-ish look, colored a pale cream with veins of blue. This is mirrored in her plump face, and her eyes, which are usually the same blue, as are her very big lips. She doesn’t have hair, but she does have two thick bundles of tentacles that look like hair.
Technically she has at least three eyes at any given time, but she mainly has a large central eye, ringed by two smaller ones that sort of look like eyebrows, and the impression is of a cyclops. She often grows a set of short and spiky gills, but her face is otherwise featureless.
As a shoggoth girl, she can assume whatever body configuration she wants, but rarely deviates from this form; she usually increases her number of arms for an advantage, or make hands if she needs fingers. She can alter her body shape, like becoming incredibly muscular for a powerful attack, or immensely round to absorb an attack. She often adopts crustacean traits into herself, growing heavy exoskeleton, pincy claws, or shaping her tentacles into crab legs. She sometimes does this just for a bit of rigidity and to hold her body together, too. This form is astonishingly flexible, and more than a little stretchy. You don’t impact her or cut her, you just sink in.
She’s not precisely fat but she looks like it, and is very solid too, tending towards a very large gut and imposingly big breasts larger than her upper torso, and even wider lower hips. Her tentacles - and matching mega-scale butt - are incredibly large and somewhat longer than normal for her people, but her liquid form body is highly unusual. This is very hard to maintain and she is smug about her skill in maintaining her body like that permanently, and other shoggirls think this means that she is mentally fluid and capricious.
Her exact size varies, and she is not exclusive to any particular AU. In ones where human-scale is the normal, she’s about twice human size, 11 feet or so. In ones where giants are more common, she’s about seventy feet at minimum, though she can get bigger.
Backstory: Yatruiga’s people, the immortal and incredibly ancient people generally called shoggoth girls, have long cultivated a reputation as being elegant and cultured beings of great refinement, on the rare occasions they feel up to venturing out of their enclaves or form beneath the waves to bother with the rest of the multiverse. It is rare indeed for a shoggoth girl to deliberately seek out company outside of the great shoals of their hidden homeworlds and the private universes folded away from the rest of the planes. But it is even rarer for one to seek conquest and martial glory.
Yatruiga is such a shoggoth girl, hailing from a world that had contact with the shorter lived species prior to the multiversal cataclysm. That is to say, they opened their minds to mortals while remaining obscured to them, examining their cultures and media and written accounts, filing it away for study and reflection. Yatruiga examined these with great fascination, growing to admire the idea of change measured in mere decades, rather than the millenia her passive kind were suited to. She longed for the notion of suddenness, of quickness.
And in the wake of the cataclysm, in the rise of warlords and demagogue, she perceived the value in warfare. Not as a resolution, but as a means to an end. Finding more relevance in mortal customs than the slow pace of the shoggoth, she found that she wanted glory.
Since the cataclysm’s end, she has been patiently learning the skills of conquest, leaving her isolated worlds behind and shunning contact with her people, bearing their advanced technology (now overwhelmingly dangerous in contrast to the ruins elsewhere) and potent psionic abilities and magical theory, and has set forth to gather minions, forge mighty weapons, and conquer as much of the multiverse as she can hold.
In her heart, she dreams that all the multiverse will know her name.
Personality: She presents the image of being bombastic and a hammy, dramatic figure, prone to grand gestures and who wants only the most impressive of things to her name, making every single action or even her form a performative gesture. She speaks louder than most people yell, she gesticulates almost continually, and she takes advantage of her shapeshifting so that she is in an almost constant state of flux; the effect is, by shoggoth standards, of outrageous pomposity, and it is very deliberate.
And it is just that: a persona. She has studied many famous warlords, generals and battle-hardened champions across history and has tried to emulate all their various personalities into a single mask to put on, believing that this is the appropriate way for her to act with her ambitions of warrior accomplishment.
When she isn’t acting like that, though, she’s very low key and even surly, filtered through the mannerisms of a typical valley girl personality. Reluctant to speak more than she has to, she comes off as very terse. She might have a lot to say, but she will only speak in brief, clipped words, saying what she must and trickling it out in a laconic tone littered with easy-going terms.
Ultimately she is acting out a role, without really getting fully into it and still trying to figure it out; she worries that she has the tone down, but hasn’t understood the essence of it yet. This sense of ‘not quite doing it right’ pervades her entire outlook, making her nervous around mortals, and she is not used to that feeling, so it makes her angry and irritable.
However this is hard for mortals to take note of; as a species, shoggoth handle everything in extremely long-term progression, so while by her own standards she is shockingly impulsive and even disturbingly mercurial in how quickly her mind shifts, Yatruiga’s melancholy phases seem more to mortals that her bombastic personality regularly becomes grim and dour as the seasons turn, and remains like that for some time. To her, she slides smoothly into her role, but to mortals she comes off as gradually progressing from one extreme to the other.
She’s not an easy person to like. Whether she is grumpy or dramatic, she has trouble relating to mortals as people rather than brief things, finding them not so much interesting as their ideas, perhaps viewing them as mere hosts for fascinating notions; thus she often treats them as tools for her use, and annoying flies overtaken with their own importance otherwise. She’s not cruel, but her callousness and disinterest in caring about people in general makes her come off that way. She doesn’t enjoy suffering, she just doesn’t care about it much; she might try to swallow someone whole and simply not consider digestion as an unpleasant doom.
She’s also ludicrously overconfident, and simply will not learn from her mistakes, and her military career is full of constant defeats, setbacks and losses from her absolute refusal to accept bad odds. As she can regenerate from almost any wound, she tends to forget that her weapons and armies are not so strong as she is, and heedlessly charges into battle without much regard for tactics or common sense.
Many of her armies have been wiped out by her own overconfidence, or else aged past the point of service simply because she forgot that mortals don’t treat a few hundred years as a brief rest time. That said, she is a genuinely dangerous warrior and very hard to even slow down, but her armies regularly desert her. She’s made up for this by making herself into a broodmother and breeding a massive army of barely intelligent monsters little brighter than zombies, but she craves genuine loyalty, and doesn’t understand why no one really respects her that much.
As a broodmother, she almost constantly pregnant, periodically giving birth to thousands of bestial soldiers for her armies that grow to full size in a matter of weeks, and she has little attachment to them, viewing them not as children but in the same way as she regards individual tentacles. While she can reproduce parthenogenetically, she prefers to harvest genetic material from suitors (be they biological compatible for babymaking or not), and it doesn’t help that she gets crushes on those she has rivalries with. Her shapeshifting powers let her mate with any living being, and she’s become somewhat addicted to this in recent ages.
She does have some slight yandere tendencies; if she gets dedicated enough to a specific rival, she can grow more obsessed with them and single-minded about constantly breeding with them and milking them for every last drop of extra soldiers from them… and eventually become fanatical about consuming them and beating them once and for all. As a result, her getting attached can be a very bad idea, at least in a romantic context.
Species: Shoggoth Girl, a species of amorphous primordial masses of shapeshifting flesh, capable of assuming whatever form they please. She’s very atypical for her people in living ‘in the moment’ and leaving the homeworlds, and even more unusual for her love of violence and martial concerns.
Fandom: Mostly an original creation, though her people are cute monster girls versions of the shoggoth from the Lovecraft Mythos (with a touch of space elf and precursor archetypes), and draw upon the aboleths from Dungeons And Dragons.
Abilities: She is extremely skilled in most in-universe modern forms of warfare, having been doing it for an extremely long time. Practice alone has taught her much, and she is extremely good at fighting in a wide variety of ways, from firearms to melee weapons, and has come to specialize in shapeshifting in combat to maximize them, such as slithering out of holds or making many limbs to attack directly.
Her liquidform body offers her many advantages; among other things, she is incredibly hard to hurt directly, since most attacks will just sink into her body; exceptional magic or specialized weapons are required to actually pierce her body or leave more than temporary holes, though heat does it consistently and she is incredibly vulnerable to biological weaponry. She is extremely flexible, even by shoggirl standards; she can force her way down someone’s throat, bend herself any which way, stretch her body like living gum, and force her way through any gap, given enough time.
By altering the chemicals that make up her body, she can become specularily acidic, dissolving most materials she’s in contact with; by forcing someone into her body (by swallowing them whole, forcing them into her or flowing around them) she can digest them and absorb their biomass directly, and do this to most substances too. She can even apply this to attacks, by making a blow with a limb briefly made of super acidic flesh, though this is draining to do repeatedly.
Her favorite ability is to shapeshift. AS a shoggirl, her amorphous body can assume any transformation she can imagine (though she can’t change her apparent nature, such as take on human appearance), diverting biomass to grow more limbs, reshape any part of her body or make them as big or restructure them, or even grow larger or smaller. She is incredibly creative with this power, manifesting extra limbs just to do a quadruple sword swing, produce a dozen hands on arm just to slap someone repeatedly, swell a tentacle into a barrier in front of her, or produce extra organs to survive different environments like gills.
She seems to favor altering her stomach in odd ways, such as splitting it apart into a belly to swallow enemies whole and then launch them like ammunition, make it a living shield, or store excess biomass in there so it swells to immobilizing proportions. If she is incubating young, she doesn’t grow particularly larger, through her transparent body might make them visible, which can be very disturbing; she can make herself more opaque, if asked.
Her body is also immortal, after a fashion. She does not age, and will regenerate almost any non-magical wound, and even those will heal with time and biomass, and since it is hard to harm her in the first place, she comes across as very tough. Even the complete digestion of her body is only a hindrance; if a single part of her remains, it will regrow into her again, still stubbornly refusing to admit defeat.
Another aspect of her fluid body is that she can gestate young in localized mini-wombs pretty much wherever she wants, though she usually keeps them in her belly to make herself look even bigger and cooler. She can do this parthenogenetically, making strange crab-monster minions that resemble her, but she has grown fond of harvesting genetic material from others through sexual means, or digesting them if she feels like it, adding those genetics to her creations and making stronger armies.
These powers do have a big drawback; her fluidity is the biggest one. She is very vulnerable to being, say, slurped up like any other liquid. Stick a straw in her and suck hard, and she will be drawn into it helplessly despite weighing several dozen tons. She has been defeated many ways in this fashion, and has never learned from it. Her great resilience gives her a false sense of invulnerability, and she heedlessly rushes into situations even when its a blatantly terrible idea.
Her broodmother mass breeding has the big drawback of requiring food for those thousands of offspring; she must constantly devour enormous quantities of food, almost every single hour, in addition to the massive amounts of food she needs to maintain her biomass. As a result she usually must hold off on replenishing her armies, at least until she has enough resources to do so. In theory, if she actually did conquer enough territory, she might end up eating every last drop of organic material or depopulating entire planets - namely, the populations she just conquered - solely to maintain her status quo, and she might not even realize this until after the fact.
She is also apparently incredibly delicious as a minor side effect of her basic chemical makeup, and considers this just another point in her favor. Making her enemies eager to swallow her up hasn’t yet occurred to her to be a bad idea.
Height: Highly variable. She can be as big or small as she wants, but she needs actual biomass to fill out to that point; she’s rather vain and refuses to be too skinny, or at least not look properly bulky. She likes to be on the bigger side on things, to the point that it is ridiculously impractical, such as growing to full size on her flagship and immediately breaking it into pieces.
Relationships: She doesn’t have any canon relationships as such; her tendency to destroy her own armies through mismanagement, obliviousness to their mortality, accidentally engulfing and then digesting them, or simply losing their loyalty through more mundane events, has left her with an inability to hold onto minions for very long. Stil, she always gets more, even if its not clear how she does it.
The minions she mass produces are more loyal, and really have no choice. They were born to obey her and know nothing but following her orders. They’re just not very good at it and unimaginative. She tends to order them to their doom, and she’s not very strategically minded either.
She’s not unfriendly though, or totally unapproachable; come to her pretending to be a servant or at least willing to play a submissive role and she will gladly take you on and she can have a aristocratic sense of duty to her subordinates, if she remembers that they have their own goals. One-on-one, she has the potential to be a good friend, if only she can be bothered to remember things, and learn some humility.
Those who have bested and digested her in the past, she tends to see as rivals and constantly seek them out, always striving to beat them. This even applies if thy died a long time ago, and she pursues their descendants, sometimes under the impression that they are that ancestor.
Pred Level: She thinks she is an alpha predator that flawlessly devours all in her path as surely as she wins campaigns, and she really does try to do this; she does digest whatever she possibly can, rather like an acidic slime monster, just to maintain her biomass levels and be healthy. However in practice she’s not very good at it, most of her attempted prey fighting free of her or actually washing out of her when she forgets to solidify herself. At best, she’s a low-tier with very high potential.
However, her sexual appetite can very easily translate into genuine hunger if she gets attached and her rivalry hits a high pitch, her yandere potential going into overdrive. While she hasn’t had much opportunity to do this yet, it might happen.
Prey Level: Extremely high, though she won’t admit it. She’s constantly getting drunk by enemies, indifferent monsters, ship machines she got stuck in, her own soldiers sleepwalking, kisses that get too intense… it just goes on. Due to the messy nature of her body, at least one droplet of her always falls free and she regrows from it, dazed and unsure of what just happened. Despite her sheer size, it is strangely small for even extremely small beings to swallow her. Even if she’s a 100 ft tall giantess, a regular human girl can swallow her in one drink, and her body material is easily digested.
MILF levels: As she is right now, N/A. Callous, oblivious to anyone’s interests except her own, she’s barely a team player, let alone a matriarch. While she is a powerful mass-producer of young, she doesn’t view them as children but extensions of herself, and she might not even be wrong there, and it's unclear if she even can produce intelligent young, at least without mods. She does have the right look, though, and it's unclear what the MILF fleet’s patented mega-fertility and empathy enhancers might do to her.
Overall Themes: Generally a light-hearted antagonist that just won’t go away, and a recurring threat that isn’t that dangerous despite being quite powerful. Mainly themed around being vore prey, but as a component to adventure and battles rather than a focus detail. She’s also a giantess and at least a huge BBW, with extra tentacles and plush-ness. Her habit of constantly seeking out ‘genetic material’ from interesting suitors makes for some potential sexual vibes. Plus, she’s a cute monster gal!

How Star Trek: Next Generation’s “The Chase” Changed Canon Forever
https://ift.tt/3eRzqpi
What do space heists and archaeology have in common? The answer is one of the most important and bizarrely under-appreciated episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season 6 banger, “The Chase.” Written by future Battlestar Galactica showrunner Ronald D. Moore and Joe Menosky, and directed by Jonathan Frakes, “The Chase” is a perfect example of a late-era TNG episode insofar as the characters all feel super-cozy, and the story has a subtle intensity without resorting to a ton of explosions or violence. At the same time, “The Chase” also offered a Watsonian answer to a question with a seemingly very obvious Doyle-ist answer: Why do Star Trek aliens look the way they do? In “The Chase,” we learn all about the rules of Trek aliens, and along the way, the TNG lore is expanded in other big ways, too.
“The Chase” aired on April 26, 1993, and as such, exists in the interesting time when TNG and DS9 were airing new episodes simultaneously. DS9 had already expanded the canon of Trek by permanently parking itself in the histories of both the Bajorians and the Cardassians, but in doing so, DS9 had also brought another Star Trek plot element back into vogue in a big way: The ancient space mystery! These kinds of stories usually focus on a long-dead alien species that had a profound impact on history and influenced everyone’s basic perception of why things are the way they are. In a sense, the entire first season of Star Trek: Picard falls into this story phylum. In the 1993 DS9 pilot, “The Emissary” — which aired just six months before “The Chase” —  we learn the ancient gods of Bajor, the Prophets, are really timeless aliens from another plane of existence. This kind of idea is nearly as old as science fiction itself, but prior to DS9, Star Trek did this all the time. The notion of ancient and influentially alien races pops up in TOS a lot, including references to “the Old Ones,” in “What Are Little Girls Made Of?” and “Catspaw.” There’s also Sargon’s race of energy beings from “Return to Tomorrow,” who low-key take credit for the existence of humanoids. This idea also pops up with “the Preservers” in the episode “The Paradise Syndrome.” Before “The Chase,” TNG had a few episodes like this, too, including “The Last Outpost,” and pivotally, the Season 2 episode “Contagion,” the first time we learn that Picard had previously considered a career in archeology before staying on the career path that led to starship captain.
The notion that Picard has an Indiana Jones-esque tendency embedded in his personality is one of the smarter layers in his character. I love Kirk, but, other than horseback riding and mountain climbing, his hobbies are comparatively kind of generic throughout TOS and the films. (Sulu has more unique hobbies!) One of the reasons the character of Picard is so easy for people to embrace is his multifaceted love of all sorts of stuff that doesn’t have much to do with exploring space. In “The Chase,” we get a character-development metaphor that illustrates this is the ancient artifact called the Kurlan naiskos, a statue with little statues inside of it, representing as Picard says, “the many voices inside the one.” The storytelling lesson? Cool characters work better when there’s contradictory stuff inside of them.
It’s also helpful when those “many voices” can create cool stories. In High Fidelity, John Cusak’s Rob Gordon explains character development like this: “What really matters is what you like, not what you are like… Books, records, films – these things matter!” With Picard, the vastly different interests that feel divergent from his Starfleet persona — hard-boiled noir novels, archaeology — help round him out in a way that you can imagine him as a real person, existing beyond the confines of the TV show. But, prior to “The Chase,” the archaeology thing hadn’t really been explored in any real way. It’s almost like in the final two seasons of TNG, the writers remembered Picard has a cool intellectual superpower called “archaeology.”
After “The Chase,” we get a Season 7 two-parter called “Gambit,” in which Picard goes undercover using his former archeology professor’s name, Galen, to track down—you guessed it—ancient pieces of an alien artifact that could have untold power! The interstellar adventures of Galen Jones never really took off as a TNG spin-off, but again, if you squint, aspects of Star Trek: Picard don’t feel that far off from “The Chase” or “Gambit.” (As post-” Unification” stories, these episodes also double-down on the idea that Picard is personally invested in the history of Romulus and also making peace with the Romulans in general. Thanks, Spock!)
But. The reason why “The Chase” is so important to Star Trek canon isn’t just connected to the ongoing character development of Jean-Luc Picard. Picard’s personal stakes in unlocking an ancient archeology mystery help make the episode move, but the larger revelation of what is going on is slightly cooler. There’s a scene where Picard is describing the four billion-year-old genetic mystery and the camera slowly zooms in on him, really letting you know that this shit is about to get real. It goes like this:
“It’s four billion years old. A computer program from a highly advanced civilization, and it’s hidden in the very fabric of life itself. [SLOW JONATHAN FRAKES ZOOM LENS BEGINS, OMINIOUSLY.] Whatever information this program contains could be the most profound discovery of our time. Or the most dangerous.”
The culmination of “The Chase” is all about various governments trying to unlock the secrets of the genetic computer program to figure out its secrets. This is the Raiders of the Lost Ark stuff. The Klingons think it’s a giant weapon. The Cardassians think it’s an unlimited power supply. Belloq thinks it’s a radio for talking to God, even though nobody invited him. Even the Romulans are in on it, wanting to obtain this four billion-year-old puzzle for themselves. In the end, the big revelation is that all the “humanoid” bipedal species we’ve seen throughout Star Trek were created intentionally by an even more ancient set of humanoids. This tap-dance with real science doesn’t contradict evolution per se, but in the ancient message the ancient humanoid woman says: “Our scientists seeded the primordial oceans of many worlds, where life was in its infancy. The seed codes directed your evolution toward a physical form resembling ours.”

Star Trek Villains Who Actually Had a Point

Why Star Trek Needs More Characters Like Captain Lorca
By Lacy Baugher
So, the TLDR is that in the Trek universe, we evolved naturally, but only because we were given a push. This is as close the Trek canon will come to the notion of panspermia, the real-life theory that organic life could have been intentionally seeded on Earth. But, Trek alum Ronald D. Moore would revisit this idea in a big way in his famous reboot of Battlestar Galactica. This has all happened before and it will all happen again… sometimes, in a different franchise.
So what’s the big deal with the revelation that all the humanoid alien species share a common ancestor? Well, the knee-jerk answer is that this episode provided bandaid on the slightly unrealistic notion that most aliens in Star Trek just like humans with different foreheads or wrinkled noses or funny ears. And that’s true, “The Chase” does provide a Watsonian answer for why the Star Trek universe looks the way it does, at least when it comes to extraterrestrials. Haters might say this was a bad idea because it called attention to something that doesn’t need explaining, sort of like the Trek version of the midichlorians. But, that negative take misses a slightly larger truth, which debunks an important myth about the foundation of Trek.
The reason why The Original Series mostly tackled aliens who looked like humans in bad make-up is only partially an economic one. Yes, it’s widely impractical to do Hortas and Gorns every week, but in creating the writers’ bible for TOS, Roddenberry also made it clear that humanoid aliens were part of a dramatic choice, not just an economic one. In early pitch documents, Roddenberry describes “the parallel worlds” concept like this: “It means simply that our stories will plant and animals life, plus people, quite similar to that on Earth.”
Roddenberry wasn’t just doing this to save money. The “parallel worlds” concept was clearly something he wanted so the stories would connect with a casual viewer and not just hardcore science fiction fans. Prior to Star Trek, the general perception of filmed science fiction was that it was genre dominated by “Bug-Eyed Monsters.” By introducing the “Parallel worlds” concept, Roddenberry was creating a buffer against the series becoming too much like monster-of-the-week science fiction. Yes, this decision conveniently saved a little bit of money, but it’s very clear that wasn’t the only factor. Even at the beginning, Star Trek wanted to do humanoid aliens not because it was easy, but because telling those stories would be more interesting.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
What Moore and Menosky did with “The Chase,” was to come right out and make that dramatic choice into a thoughtful and exciting episode. The physics and biological science of the Star Trek universe might not exactly line up with our own, but the way in which the various shows prioritize people over technology is a relative constant. In “The Chase,” TNG reminded everyone that Star Trek was always about telling stories about people, even if those people were literally aliens. In this way, “The Chase” didn’t so much as change canon, but rather, clarified it. The reason why the Romulans, Humans, Cardassians look the way they do has an answer. But the real answer to that question requires even more introspection than the episode has time for. Which, in a nutshell, is what a lot of good Trek is supposed to do. “The Chase” is both an overt metaphor and a hardcore in-universe story at the same time. Many voices, inside the one.
Editor’s note: Norman Lloyd, the actor who played Professor Galen in “The Chase” (and inhabited many, many other roles in his long career) passed away earlier this week. You can learn more about his life and career here.

RESOURCES
Most planets under the control of Parim ( whether high, middle, or low class ) have some sort of trades resources. Obviously not all worlds are going to have a unique resource up for sale or trade; some are foods, fashion material or armory minerals. Almost everything is bought and sold from every world including types of grass or water. In some cases even “air” is sold. One of the most valuable sales or trades is in low-class people. It’s VERY rare but sometimes even Middle-class people are bought or sold, but never has there ever been a high-class slave.
Most of the things sold are fruits, foods, spices, or materials. Fashion is a huge industry on middle and high class worlds. Because of this material import is up in the top five most sourced trades. It’s common to see slaves from low-class worlds on middle and high, usually tending to shops or upkeep for nobility. The middle and high class slaves, the ones fortunate enough to work for nobility are cleaned and live like Kings or Queens of the low-class worlds. Of course, they are still slaves.
The most valuable trade in all of the system is the youth serum. It’s something valuable even to shareholders, because the resource used to make it has a limit, the greatest collection of serum is locked away on the high-class worlds and used every one-hundred years. There are many rumors stating that there’s even a de-aging serum that makes an elder young again. Although that’s never been seen in trades or even confirmed on the Dark Market. ( Which is a market used by the info-exchange, who trade secrets of high-class families )
Aside from those things, the other most common trades or sales would have to be technologically based. Things like ships, weapons, transport for land, air, sea, etc. Or even suits or cybernetic enhancements, and then finally drugs. ( like Hyperreality ) or others like it.
NOBILITY
The hierarchy for each world is pretty much the same. ( especially in part due to the constitution of Parim ) Each world has an elected King or Queen. This elected official is the spokesperson of the entire planet, to the shareholders. That person may have to answer to an Agent or a Regent, but they are responsible for their citizenry. Should a crime be committed by one of their own, that planet is held responsible depending on the crime’s nature.
Kings or Queens may be elected through birthright, and much like the traditional type, through marriage or arranged alliances through pairing. Lineage is very important and is key to the success of most worlds. The shareholders never create alliances with other worlds, their children marry into those of their own species and race to keep some of their more prominent genetics without modification. A King can be crowned as young as ten years old ( same for a Queen ).
The Kings and Queens of each planet are encouraged to create Guards ( units ) for protection during passage to and fro planets. Once a King’s or Queen’s guard, titles and inheritance is relinquished. They must swear an oath and upkeep it with their lives. Heirs from different worlds are able to marry into each other’s family and form alliances beneath Parim, but never against. These alliances are usually built on resources, land, or population.
Per usual, breaking a vow of alliance through marriage ( like adultery ) could be brought before Parim’s judiciary and followed until the alliance is off and punishment is published. Depending on the severity, the punishment could result in death. Parim’s constitution of noble right states that inheritance must be passed to someone possessing the blood of the line and none else, not even a Queen or King, only their children. ( more )
THE GAMES
The Games have been around for centuries upon centuries. No one can state exactly when they began ( except one of the shareholders, should they remember ) but they’ve been around nearly as long as Parim itself. The idea is simple, it’s a battle; shareholder versus shareholder. The five of them, richest in all of the Galaxy, who hold the most planets in their estate, come together to compete in the games. So, what are the games? Parim collectively has slaved well over two hundred planets, and as a rough estimate, destroyed over fifty. Warfare can drain a world, pollute it, rob it of resources, suck the life right out of it. The games have left worlds with great cities, abandoned, empty - or those with great rivers and oceans, dry and sea life washed ashore.
Each shareholder picks a world from their estate that they’ve slaved as a fighter and they pit them against each other. The fighting grounds could be either of the planets that are selected. The fighting worlds are then supplied with weapons and arsenal by their sponsor ( the shareholder ) and they must fight for their world’s survival. The winner of five games has the chance to be christened Champion of their sponsor, which means option for re-worlding, which is moving from one dying planet to a new planet full of life and resources, one of the middle-class worlds. Shareholders are known to sponsor and use barbaric worlds in the games, the kind that have little technology or lack sophistication.
Some champion worlds are supplied with youth serum to fight longer, this serum is collected via genetic extract from races that have evolved so much that they stop aging altogether. The High-class view the games in much of a spectacle or sport sort of fashion, while the middle-class feel some of them could be or use to be subjected to the Games, so they’re a bit sympathetic. The low-class obviously fear and reject / rebel against the Games, but are futile to stop them from moving forward. Parim has embedded itself so deep into the Galaxy that most worlds couldn’t survive without it, and thus must fight in the Games.
TRAVEL & FASHION
So, travel back and forth from worlds happens as you would expect it to - there are great huge ships designed for these things. Now, not every ship is fit for world-to-world travel; some are only suited for surface travel. That means, you know a bit like from China to Canada in like an hour, something like that. It’s very likely that different people and member groups have different kinds of ships and technology, except those who reign beneath Parim. Technology is distributed like an industry; different model, same make. That kind of thing.
Hyper-space will be acknowledged in our Galaxy—so jumping or warping space ( if you’re a Star wars or Star Trek fan ) it’s essentially going light-speed with a ship. Traveling light years and what not. It breaks down the travel time between worlds which are separated by solar systems. There are several solar systems in the galaxy; some have two suns, some have one, some worlds have five moons, and some have none. Fleet ships are used for military purpose; they’re huge and station over ten’s of thousands of men and women. Meanwhile, CARGO ships carry other ships and are labeled the “whales” of space. They’re huge, some even bigger than Fleet ships. Empty cargo ships could likely carry the entire population of a planet ( a small one ) kind of like, Noah’s space ark.
Smaller ships that seat one or two people are going to be faster and likely be used for surface travel. Although, there are some single-seaters used for space-travel, especially paid transport. Like space-taxis or in our case “royal carriages.” The atmosphere breaking, the rumble of the seat, that life or death moment as it feels like everything is ripping apart leaving a planet, YEAH. Don’t be shy of writing that sort of stuff into your scene. Exactly what would it be like to have someone royal upon a royal ship? And what would a royal ship be like? These are things to keep in mind when trying to conceive the scene in detail.
Methods of travel per CLASS
High-class worlds likely use high-class travel transports. It’s very common to see ships of gold and silver transporting people. Train-like autos on a sleek white single track traveling hundreds of miles an hour, or plain old horse and carriages for the more traditional. Elements that they’ve adopted from less civilized worlds. ( horses could be an import )
Middle-class worlds would obviously be similar to High-class worlds with the exception of rare imports like solid gold ships. Methods of transport would be tech-based mostly, and non-horse-carriage-varied.
Low-class worlds would be down to cars, buggies sail boats and wagons, carriages, horses and other alien-like creatures that resemble methods of tamed transport.
Fashion in this galaxy ranges from different sorts of material and style; leather, clothe, and even gel. But, let’s get into the theme. Parim has a modern roman look about their entire sector of space. Much of the architecture is similar to ancient times as well. This is likely due to their marvelous and elegant appearance. Royalty stacks on layers of silks and jewels. It’s common to see men sporting gowns and garnering golden tiara’s ( especially the older and more wise ones )
The middle-class is pulled to a more Athens kind of look. Very reserved. Men wearing sandals and capes with kilts. Low-born are rags and cloth mainly, or in rare cases chainmail. High-born might seem limitless; crazy styles of hair and make-up. This is where it gets interesting; they could appear as having a slight futuristic spin on a modern roman appearance. So think Hunger Games, Panem and their styles. Very wild and odd and colorful. Another example might be Nova Prime from Guardians of the Galaxy, something like that might work here. The military fashion is more or less civilized ( as Obi-wan would put it ) and has swords and shields and frown upon gun-fire. It’s good to keep in mind these people value straight-up power. Swords made of insanely strong metals that sing when you swing them. Shields that could deflect almost anything ( okay Captain America ) and armor that glistens from the sun.
We’re going for a mostly modern / ancient Roman / Greek type of fashion.
The low-class worlds would be everything from modern suit-style to viking clothing. Some of them are less intelligent and more primitive. We’d prefer that most of the added worlds from creating members are more leaned toward the viking / old world aesthetic.
ARCHITECTURE & WORLD BUILDING
The going theme of the Galaxy under Parim is Greek / Roman architecture. The reason being that it flows well and is elegant and runs with the recurring themes of house v. house politics. The air of sophistication and yet an ancient aesthetic really helps sculpt the Universe of The Hundred Thrones.
Things such as white pillars, statues, and paintings all featuring Roman and Greek inspired aesthetics. More than any other area, these sort of themes and designs will be very, very apparent in High-class areas. These areas are flourishing with technology however as well. Things such as: hovering ads, neon projected signs, ship docking and moving walkways. Lights are set on display all throughout most of the cities giving a somewhat futuristic accent to the statues in the way they’re lit up at night.
These statues will likely be of ancient warriors, champions of a house or world, etc. Monuments will be built in Middle-class areas as well to support the history of the games. Most of the Middle-class areas could resemble 16th century themes. Horses and carriages will still be acknowledged as well as birds, snakes, lizards, etc. Don’t be afraid to be creative with what animals you throw into different worlds.
Obviously other worlds are going to have different creatures. If you’re drawn to things like Dragons, Zombies, Vampires, etc. DON’T ! Do not use those sort of things because they’re not real. Instead try to create something LIKE those things for this Universe. For example; maybe a large rhyno looking creature with several horns that stands as tall as a bus and eats grass and plants, grey skin and protective of its kin – hard to kill due to the tough skin. It has eight eyes upon its squared head.
Maybe it could be called “Vonsra” Who knows. But things like that help the world-building during the stories. Don’t be afraid to throw a little bit of your own creativity in there. Just stick to the on-going theme of Roman / Greek inspired aesthetic. For further details regarding the architecture look in the “setting” section below.
Each member is able to help the world building in small doses. Don’t over do it. Try to pitch some small things in and out of the scene; but don’t flood the scene with an overdose of so many different and wild things that it’s confusing to the reader. The staple world building for this Universe is pretty simple; just think of similar publications for reference; Star wars, Star Trek, Jupiter Ascending. One thing that has been severely different is the mixture of human // creature relations.
There are alien species here in this galaxy, not many are intelligent, the ones that are, are able to walk around free. There’s not much discrimination against most alien species. Some are known for certain characteristics; one example might be “Griphins lie their way through lies they’ve been caught in, don’t trust’em!” Now, not all “Griphins” lie obviously, but it could be so common in their type that all of them get mistaken for being the same sort of person. Although there are aliens, we are predominantly a humanoid galaxy, so it’s few and far between. ( aliens are human-appearing, just different skin or eye colorations )
For land travel as mentioned before there are several types of ship that carry passengers to and from destinations across small or large planets. Aside from these are bikes and bike-like transports. One popular invention is called the Stryker. It’s a hovering bike design that gets up to two-hundred miles an hour in about ten seconds. ( for reference see Destiny’s Shrike or Anakin’s bike from Episode II ). As also mentioned, horse and carriage is viable, especially on high-class or middle-class worlds who love those sort of transports. Each world is different, different landmass, water, gravity, air, etc. Most middle and high class worlds are A-1 habitable zones, or Earth-like worlds. They have the most survivable conditions. There are some desert worlds, or sea worlds; worlds with one single trait or characteristic that they’re known for.
RELIGION
Each world in The Outer is without Parim and because of this is able to practice religion freely, however, Parim’s constitution forbids the practice of religion within their union. This is due to the multiple rebellion attempts against their law in the name of religion. However for more tamed worlds, it’s impossible to forget their religion and with ancient text sold in the Dark Market, minds tend to wonder on what things were like before Parim. So, certain religions could be practiced in secret. However, most would revere the shareholders as their “Gods” and the middle-class as the “Angels.”

Hacking: Felicity versus Malcolm/Merlyn Global
They had an interesting dynamic in the background - a low-key hacker war. During season 1, she was his shadow adversary: one he didn’t account for but was pivotal in stopping his plan and taking him down. Then in season 3, we have this nice bit of role-reversal: he’s obviously not underestimating her anymore, and this time he’s the one shadowing her unbeknownst to her.
[Sort-of related] Thoughts about Malcolm and tech skills under the cut:
He was definitely knowledgeable w/ explosives, for one thing:
In 1x09, he set up an elaborate trap for the Hood - had him track the arrows he left behind to a warehouse with a fancy electronic/chemical incendiary bomb:
Tumblr media
Same ep, he set up a circuit of explosives all around the warehouse where he held hostages as the Dark Archer, to keep the police out. He couldn’t have had those installed by other people without giving away his identity.
In 1x22, he used an explosive arrow - that was before Oliver threw one at his face.
He knew how to defuse Anarky’s bomb in season 4 (one of the last episodes).
Concerning hacking:
Felicity said whoever tracked the money Moira used for Tempest was NSA-good, so I don’t think he did that job himself (not alone, unless he is way more skilled than we know?). But it is probably him who left the Undertaking symbol behind, either by mistake or intentionally as a warning for Moira?
Then there’s the trap in 1x09, which involves knowing how the Hood (/Felicity) was going to hack into his ghost-company shipments, plus some bits of programming in the warehouse (the doors closing right before the bomb activates once the vigilante is close enough).
In 1x22, he did a full wipe-out of the Unidac Industries servers (along with the Unidac Industries humans) using trick arrows and by plugging in specialized tech. Wipe-outs are standard hacker procedure, and he knew how to do it cleanly, fully and efficiently.
In 1x23, he was able to detect Felicity’s Trojan and move the Markov device before Team Arrow could get to it. Considering how good she is I don’t think she made it easy for him. She underestimated him.
The fact that his company’s servers are so secure (Felicity wasn’t the only one who struck out, the SCPD IT guy couldn’t get in either - “Merlyn Global's cyber security is off the charts.”) means he really invested in that area. Usually, I think executives who show that much interest in cyber security know what it’s about.
In 3x04, Oliver tagged him using a nano tracking-tech. Malcolm wasn’t just able to realize it almost immediately, he also knew how to cheat Felicity’s program and send Oliver on a wild goose chase.
In 3x12, we learn he managed to get into Felicity’s system, take control of her webcam and microphone to get a live feed of whatever’s going on with Team Arrow, without her noticing. It’s not easy to hack a hacker of this level, since they usually know how to protect themselves.
The fact he was able to break into the bunker whenever he wanted during season 3-4 with zero difficulty means he knew how to bypass all their electronic protections.
The fact he had these skills isn’t particularly surprising btw:
A lot of these ENTJ executives have a private geeky/nerdy side, even if on the outside they seem very work-money-and-maybe-sport oriented. Think Bill Gates IRL, or characters like Tyrell Wellick from Mr. Robot or even Frank Underwood from House of Cards.
We still don’t know what Merlyn Global Group was about exactly, but 5x17 suggests they might have been, at least partially, into defense stuff (considering the poisonous gaz he sold Kovar)? If that was the case, weaponized-tech and hacking skills would have been part of his “domain”. It could also explain how he found out about Markov and Unidac Industries - it would be right up his alley (unlike if MG was just into banking/investment for example).
This skill set would actually complete his LoA one very well. Unlike Ra’s Al Ghul, he used to live in the midst of today’s civilisation, and ancient ninja skills wouldn’t be enough to navigate a world full of modern technology in the ways of an assassin (he’d need to know how to get past electronic locks for example, not just mechanical ones).
Also, note that Robert Queen also had some tech skills - Oliver got it from him:
Oliver: My father was a pilot, and he used to do his own maintenance. Slade: So you're hoping aircraft maintenance is genetic? Oliver: No, I used to help him and I liked it.
So I guess an interest in tech (and piloting) was another thing Malcolm and Robert had in common, besides business and their wayward boys (and being the leaders of Starling City’s arrogant ambitious rich elite with unhealthy disdain for the Glades).

Nephilim: The Watchers of Humanity
Tumblr media
The prophet Enoch is considered one of the first contactees in history. He maintained communication and received instructions from some deities that showed incredible technological development, and his adventures were reflected in four books that even relate his interstellar journey in one of the ships of these "celestial entities". These Watchers acted as true custodians of humanity, manipulating our ancestors. However, some of them rebelled against their bosses, taking sides with human beings ... They took me to a place whose inhabitants are like burning fire, but when they wish, they appear as humans, ”we read in Book 1 of Enoch. Who hold what beings aliens they appeared before the human species under the mask of divinity, and in addition we delved into the line of descent of the first human specimens (which we now know as Adam and Eve), we find a key character in this plot of manipulation, which supposedly He is the author of one of the oldest and most revealing works in the world: The Book of Enoch. If we started from Adam, Enoch would be the fruit of the seventh generation and, therefore, father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah. But who was Enoch? Why did God raise him to the status of a prophet? For what reason was he chosen as "the first learned man"? The Hebrew name of Enoch translates as "The Initiate", a role that he undoubtedly played, because he became a repository of profound knowledge. However, contrary to the mainstream of thought, that wisdom was far from bringing autonomy to the human species. Rather the complete opposite. From the study of the four sacred texts that describe the experiences of the prophet (Book of Enoch, Slavic Book of Enoch, Book of the Secrets of Enoch and Enoch Coptic), a surprising account emerges, revealing a master plan on the part of the God Yahweh to "instruct" the prophet in a series of blood rituals and, consequently, to propagate a monotheistic religion as a control system. ON BOARD AN INTERSTELLAR SHIP If we listen to the Bible, Enoch lived 12,000 years ago at the time when the Watchers or Custodians of the Lord descended to Earth to maintain lustful relationships with the daughters of men. "In the days of Yared, my father, (the angels) transgressed the word of the Lord. Behold, they sinned, transgressed the law of the Lord, changed it to go with women, and sin with them ... ”(Enoch 106: 13-16). In his texts, Enoch does not refer to God as Yahweh but as the Lord, and designates angels as his Keepers or Watchers. The prophet's description of his ascension into heaven constitutes one of the richest and most revealing accounts in the ancient world, as it offers interesting details about the nature of these "heavenly" entities. The Book of Enoch ended up being excluded from the biblical compilation, since the hierarchs of the Catholic Church sentenced that his book had not been revealed by God. Only the Abyssinian Church in Ethiopia included it in its Old Testament. The story brings together almost all the characteristic ingredients of a modern episode of alien abduction, providing absolutely amazing elements for any minimally seasoned reader. Enoch was sleeping in his bed when he was visited by two beings whom he described as "enormous men", who called him by name and asked him to accompany them to ascend to heaven. "Behold, two tremendously tall men appeared to me," we read in the Enoch's Book- So much so that I had never seen anything like it on Earth. Their faces shone like the Sun, their eyes were also like burning light, and fire came from their lips, emerging with the clothes and singing of various types in purple appearance; his wings shone brighter than gold, his hands whiter than snow. Enoch's description of these entities coincides with that found in the Bible when he details the characteristics of angels: bright and shining-eyed beings. They even say of themselves that they were born to a virgin mother. Were they the result of artificial insemination to create hybrids with extraterrestrial genetics? I am aware that many readers think I am going too far, but let's continue with the account of the facts. The angels commanded Enoch to leave a note addressed to his sons - Jerusalem, Regim, and Gaity - before they departed so that they would not seek him anywhere and patiently wait for the Lord to bring him back. Enoch narrates that two angels made him get into the spirit chariot, an experience that he describes as "being on board a palace capable of sailing through the heavens", and then said "chariot" transports him to another much more majestic place, to which the prophet called "Heaven of Heaven". My interpretation is that an aircraft displaced it to a larger one, inside which light emanated from everywhere. "He transferred my spirit into the Heaven of Heavens," writes Enoch, "and I saw that there was a building made of glass, and among those crystals, tongues of living fire. My spirit saw a circle that surrounded this building with fire and in its four corners there were sources of live fire ». Our protagonist makes it clear that a circle of fire surrounds the entire building. Are you referring to a powerful magnetic field enveloping the mothership? A JOURNEY THROUGH THE COSMOS When Enoch entered that glazed complex, he described a transparent floor that reflected stars and celestial bodies. The vastness of the cosmos moved under his feet, as the aircraft moved away from Earth. Our protagonist refers to "a first heaven, a second heaven, a third heaven ...", and so on. Precisely as an astronaut would describe the different ascending layers of the atmosphere until reaching space. "I saw a burning fire," continues Enoch recounting, "and beyond those mountains is a region where the great Earth ends, and there the heavens culminate. Then a deep chasm was shown to me between columns of celestial fire, and I saw in it columns of fire that descended to the bottom and whose height and depth were immeasurable; and beyond this abyss I saw a place over which the firmament did not extend, under which there were no foundations of the earth either; on which there was neither water nor birds, but it was a desert and terrible place. There I saw seven stars like great mountains, burning, and when I asked about this, the angel said to me: ‘This place is the end of heaven and Earth; it has become the prison of the stars and the powers of heaven. " Enoch entered rooms plagued by fruit trees and springs that gave honey, wine, milk, and oil, marveling at what his eyes beheld. But more surprising is that inside he saw about two hundred angels. One of them revealed to him that this place was reserved for the righteous and those who served the Lord. However, the prophet did not take long to go from joy to terror, since he ended up entering "infernal halls" where he observed angels subjected to cruel torture. This is how the scene describes the Enoch's Book: «From there I went to another place more terrible than the previous one and I saw something horrible: there was a great fire burning and flaming, and the place had cracks to the abyss, full of descending columns of fire, but I couldn't see its dimensions neither its magnitude nor would make conjectures ... ... Then I said: 'How dreadful and terrible it is to look at this place!'. Answering me, Uriel, the Watcher and the Saint, who was with me, said: 'Enoch, why are you so scared and scared?' I replied: "It is because of this terrible place and because of the spectacle of suffering." And he said to me: "This place is the prison of the angels and here they will be prisoners forever." SECRET KNOWLEDGE Enoch asked what they had done to deserve that punishment; the response was to disobey the Lord's orders for revealing secrets to man: "These are the Watchers who descended on Earth and revealed to humans what was secret and led them to sin." Later, the Watchers confess the names of some of those rebel angels: "The name of the room is Panamu'el; He showed the sons of men the bitter and the sweet and revealed to them all the secrets of his wisdom: he taught humans to write with ink and papyri and many have gone astray because of it, from the beginning until this day. Because men have not been brought into the world for the purpose of strengthening their belief in ink and paper »(1-Enoch: 8-10). In this passage we find an important revelation: contrary to general opinion, angels are not punished for mating with earthly women, but for revealing divine knowledge and secrets only accessible to the gods, which means that not all of these entities maintain the same attitude towards man. Now, it seems clear that some kind of superior deity had given the Watchers express orders not to transmit any kind of knowledge to the human being, in order to keep him enslaved under his tyranny. However, some of these angels ended up contravening this mandate, revealing to the Earthlings the "secret science". Enoch is unable to assimilate so many and such intense visions, and suffers a shockcollapsing exhausted. Then the archangel Gabriel appears, who helps him to get up and leads him into the presence of the Lord, with whom he maintains a long dialogue: "And the Lord summoned me and said to me: 'Enoch, sit on my right with Gabriel.' And I bowed down before the Lord, and the Lord said to me: 'Beloved Enoch, everything you see, all the things that stand, I tell you, even before the beginning, I have created everything from non-being , and the visible things of the invisible. Enoch listen to these my words, nor have I told my angels my secret, nor have I told them its origin, nor my infinite dimension, nor have they understood my creation, which I am telling you today ’» (2-Enoch 24: 1-3). The Lord forbids knowledge for human beings and punishes those of his who disclose it, yet he commissions his angels to instruct Enoch in scripture and the celestial sciences. Therefore, that God who does not want to transmit his wisdom to mortals, teaches Enoch those skills that interest him, driven by purposes that we could currently define as social engineering or control of the masses. TECHNOLOGY TO SEE THE FUTURE Enoch learns to write, and the Lord asks him to show the world what he has seen and what has been dictated to him: "And the Lord said: 'Come down to Earth and tell your children everything I have told you, and everything you have seen. Give them the manuscript books, and they will read them and know me as the creator of all things, and they will understand that there is no God but me. "2-Enoch 33: 2-9). At that instant, the Almighty tells Enoch that he is going to take him back to Earth. You will have 30 days to make God's message known through his writings. After that time, the Lord will again "rapture" the prophet to heaven, this time never to return. When Enoch returns to our world, he compiles everything he has learned and becomes a patriarch of knowledge: «This was the first of the humankind born on Earth who learned scripture, doctrine and wisdom, and wrote the signs in a book from heaven, according to the order of their months, so that men would know the seasons of the years, according to their order, by their months. He was the first to write a revelation and testify to mankind in the earthly race. Enoch even quotes the name of the angel who instructs him: «Because the signs, the times, the years and the days were shown to me by Uriel, the Watcher, whom the Lord of Glory has entrusted with all the lights of heaven and in the world , so that they reign on the face of the sky, they are seen from the Earth and they are the guides of the day and of the night, thus the Sun, the Moon, the stars and all the auxiliary creatures that travel their orbits in the chariots of the sky » (1-Enoch: 75: 3). «The vision of the Saint of heaven was revealed to me and I heard all the words of the Watchers and of the Saints –we read in the Enoch's Book- And because I listened to them, I have learned everything from them and I have understood that I will not speak for this generation, but for a distant one that is to come ». As the days passed, an angel instructed Enoch on how to transcribe all the information that flowed through a Celestial Tablet, a technological artifact with amazing power, as it was capable of calculating future events. Was it a quantum computer capable of forecasting time lines of future probabilities? WARS BETWEEN GODS Enoch wrote what the angel transmitted to him: "He said to me: 'Enoch looks at these heavenly tablets, read what is written there and point to each piece of information.' I looked at the heavenly tablets and read everything that was written and understood everything; I read the book of all the actions of humanity and of all the children of the flesh that are on Earth, even the remote generations »(1-Enoch 81: 1-2). The "chosen one from heaven" entrusted all the documents to his son Methuselah: "Preserve my son, Methuselah, the book from your father's hand and give it to the generations of the world. I have given you and your children wisdom so that they will give it to their children for generations, wisdom that is above their thoughts »(1-Enoch 82: 1). The Sumerian texts already describe these "magic tablets" as coveted objects of power, since those angels or gods who made them, would have the ability to rule the world. In a story called The Zu Myth we read as one of the subjects of the mighty Enlil, a Anunnaki –Sumerian and Akkadian deity– called Pazuzu or Zu, which means «He who Knows», manages to steal the Celestial Tablets and puts the entire Council in check Anunnaki, unleashing a war without truce. When Zu is done with the tablets, he believes himself with the ability to do anything: "I will take the Celestial Tablet of Destinations, I will rule the decrees of the gods, I will establish my throne, I will be the master of the heavenly decrees, I will command the Igigi - minor gods of the Sumerian tradition - in their space ». Through the Celestial Tablets, Enoch can experience visions of events that would occur hundreds and thousands of years in the future. In his texts, he even predicted the construction of the Tower of Babel, the prophet Elijah's ascent to heaven in a chariot of fire, and even the Great Universal Flood that would loom over the Earth 1,000 years later. When those thirty days had elapsed, Enoch prepared to leave and 2,000 individuals gathered to bid him farewell: "When Enoch had spoken to the people, the Lord sent darkness on the surface of the Earth, and there was darkness, and it covered those men who were standing next to Enoch, and they took Enoch and took him to Heaven, where the Lord is; and he received it and placed it before his face, and the darkness dissipated from the Earth, and the light returned »(2-Enoch 67: 1). REBEL ANGELS As a final cherry, and always following the instructions of the Lord, in the place where Enoch had been raptured to the top, various animal sacrifices were rendered: “Methuselah and his brothers, and all the sons of Enoch, hurried and erected an altar at the place called Achuzan, from where Enoch was taken up into the sky. And they sacrificed oxen and called all the people together, and shared the sacrifice before the face of the Lord »(2-Enoch 68: 6-7). Enoch's most revealing prophecy, that of a flood on Earth, would come after three more generations of his lineage. However, a latent problem within Yahweh's hierarchy was still raging: his angels descended to Earth to copulate with Earthlings, blinded by their beauty and desire to procreate. The secrets of the great deity were in danger day by day, as these Watchers revealed to the wives that they had taken prohibited knowledge that could elevate men to the category of gods. And that was something that Enlil-Yahweh could not allow. Only through a drastic solution would the conflict be resolved. A solution that would end the life of the human species on Earth ... At Enoch Book 1 we read that a total of 200 angels rebelled. Even the names of these Watchers who took the earthlings as wives are quoted: "Let us go and choose women from among the daughters of men and beget sons." But Shemihaza, who was their boss, told them: "I fear that you do not want to carry out this action and that I am the only one responsible for a great sin." They replied: "Let us all take an oath and let us all commit ourselves under an anathema not to go back on this project until we actually carry it out." Then the two hundred swore together under anathema, and all of them descended upon the top of a mount they called Hermon. "These are the names of their chiefs: Shemihaza, who was the chief, and in order in relation to him, Ar'taqof, Rama'el, Kokab'el, –'el, Ra'ma'el, Dani'el, Zeq'el, Baraq'el, 'Asa'el, Harmoni, Matra'el,' Anan'el, Sato'el, Shamsi'el, Sahari'el, Tumi'el, Turi'el, Yomi'el, and Yehadi 'the. These are the heads of ten » (1-Enoch 6: 1-8). From the union between these angels and women giants were born, the so-called Nephilim, which in Hebrew means "fallen" or "knocked down." In Greek translations it is given the meaning of giants, as in Aramaic. However, certain scholars defend that Nephilim comes from the Aramaic term NEPHILA, which means «Those who are from Orion», since in Aramaic Orion is Nephila. Did the Anunnaki come from the Orion Constellation as proposed by the researcher Robert Bauval, who defends the theory that the Egyptian pyramids are aligned following this constellation? WHEN THE NEPHILIM DOMINATED THE EARTH The fact is that in several excavations in the Middle East various large skeletons have been found, which means that these giants really existed, although they would not necessarily have to be the remains of the Nepfilim, but rather of human beings with genetic reminiscences of these beings. The Nepfilim and Anunnaki measured between three and six meters, so the discovery of a skeleton of these characteristics would mean a before and after in the way of conceiving human history. Returning to the story that concerns us, or that most angered Yahweh, the angels revealed secrets to their earthly wives: “Shemihaza taught incantations and cutting roots; Hermoni to break spells, witchcraft, magic and related skills; Baraq’el the signs of lightning; Kokab’el the omens of the stars; Zeq’el the lightning; –‘He taught the meanings; Ar’taqof taught the signs of the Earth; Shamsi’el the omens of the Sun; and Sahari’s the Moonmen, and they all began to reveal secrets to their wives » (1-Enoch 8: 3) The forbidden knowledge also included weapons to defend themselves, so we must assume that practically all the secrets of the smithy and the foundry were revealed by these beings, both to learn to use them in self-defense and for crafts and decoration: "And Asa ' He taught men how to make iron swords and copper breastplates and showed them how gold is mined and worked to completion, and as far as silver is concerned, to emboss it for bracelets and other ornaments. He taught women about antimony, eye makeup, gemstones, and tinctures. And then the wickedness grew a lot and they took the wrong paths and got corrupted in every way ». As the reader can appreciate, Enoch was dictated that any knowledge given to the human being is malicious, dark and sinful. Basically, the Lord condemns any technical or moral advance that humanity can develop on its own. ETERNAL PUNISHMENT FOR THE INSURRECTION Enoch is clearly a victim of "brainwashing," since he is not allowed to doubt in the least that the Law of the Lord is unquestionable. Any opposition to it means death. Only submission and fervent fidelity constitute the only way to salvation. This is how Enoch expresses the threatening tactic of his God towards sinful men and angels: «The eternal God will walk on Earth, on Mount Sinai he will appear with his great army and will arise in the force of his power from the top of the skies . And all the Watchers will tremble and be punished in secret places, and all the extremities of the Earth will be broken, and fear and a great tremor will take hold of them to the ends of the Earth. The high mountains will crumble and crumble, and the hills will crumble and melt like wax before the flame. And the Earth will divide and everything that is on Earth will perish and there will be a judgment on everyone. Without a doubt, an entire apology of terror and threat in the service of a false God who proclaims himself unique and almighty. To capture these two hundred rebel angels, Yahweh had seven lieutenants, among whom four stood out: Michael, Sariel, Raphael and Gabriel. The Lord instructed them to punish the fallen angels harshly, but especially interesting is the order that he transmitted to the archangel Michael: «And the Lord said to Michael: 'Go and announce to Shemihaza and all his accomplices that they united with women and they defiled them in their impurity, that their children will perish and they will see the destruction of their loved ones! Chain them for seventy generations in the valleys of the Earth until the great day of their judgment ’" (1-Enoch 10: 11-12). The same we read in 2 Peter: "God not only did not forgive the angels who sinned, but by throwing them into hell, he delivered them to prisons of darkness to be reserved for judgment." The angels of the Lord, after a skirmish against the rebels, capture them by locking them in a parallel world, a kind of "exile zone" where they remain in a latent state - dead in life, so to speak - while awaiting their sentence on the Day of the Final judgment. The word "Hell", present in Peter's paragraph quoted above, comes from the Greek term Tartaros, which translates as "The deepest abyss of Hades". Where exactly does the cited text refer to? Are we before an exaggeration fruit of the overflowing imagination of the authors? It is curious that even in the mythology Roman, Tartarus is the place where the enemies of the gods go. In his work The Aeneid, the Roman poet Virgil describes this Hell as a gigantic space at the deepest point of the Underworld, always enveloped by a river in flames that he designates as Phlegethon, and sealed by triple walls so that his captives cannot escape. UNMASKING THE GODS Taking into account that we know the reptilian aspect of these "celestial entities" thanks to the figures and representations of different cultures, we wonder why "good angels" are shown with the same aspect of a human being. The answer is simple. If you wanted to manipulate an ant colony to gain their trust and infiltrate their nest, would you appear before these little animals in human or ant form? All of these Anunnaki gods looked very similar: reptilian attributes, tall stature, and scaly skin. Thanks to their psyche they were able to deceive our ancestors, showing themselves under the appearance that they wanted according to their interests. If they wanted to instill fear, their appearance was grotesque and reptilian; but if they wished to seduce and deceive, they appeared as beautiful humans. This is how these entities, erroneously elevated to the category of gods, managed to get only the victors to write history. But what happened to the vanquished? Of those among your ranks who wanted to help get the human being out of the Holographic Matrix in which we live? As is to be expected, evil always ends up betraying itself, with its threats and ambitions. Perhaps we are still in time to rewrite history with the help of the vanquished, unmasking the victors ... PREDICTIONS 2017
Predictions 2017 by mistressmyst Predictions 2017 a message from Selacia To view more of Selacia's insight, visit her website, Selacia and the Council of 12 Predictions 2017 In the year 2017, a crisis of trust long in the making will be surfacing across the world. This will have far-reaching consequences for us as individuals and for our entire planet. Continue reading to understand what this means, why we should care, and what we as divine changemakers can do to make a difference. As you read, too, you will learn about the seeds of hope being planted in 2017 and what they mean for you. Background – Crisis of Trust First, some background on the crisis of trust we face. This energy of distrust is more primordial than evolutionary, stemming from humanity’s fear-based conditioning. In other words, it’s very old and more tribal than inclusive. Tribalism has been with us throughout the ages, but in recent decades since the 1990s, the tribalistic “us-and-them” mentality is having a big resurgence. Examples: Brexit, the 2016 US elections, Middle East violence driven by ancient tribal structures, extremist Islam reflecting a tribal-mindset involving warrior pride and hate-fueled jihadism, corrupt business practices including bribes, and a general tendency of superpowers to believe that it’s their role to facilitate regime change in other countries. Regardless of how tribalism manifests, it poses a threat to a peaceful and loving world. A tribal-mindset is black-and-white, with a narrow sense of belonging. Anyone outside the group is suspect, not to be trusted, and a threat. Building trust and cooperation between tribal-based groups is painstakingly difficult. Meanwhile distrust fuels division and causes people to feel even more separate from one another. Distrust and Division Distrust is a learned fear-based response. People learn to distrust others who don’t look like them, don’t think like them, or don’t practice the same religion. Many times, this distrust is in ancestral DNA, coming from centuries-old experiences of the generations. Example: When I do personal DNA intuitive healing sessions for someone trying to cope with discrimination, I often intuitively see DNA-level patterns show up in the energetic field around the DNA. We then can trace things back to times when the person’s ancestors were impacted by religious intolerance, class discrimination, or racism. Being able to see where this comes from and to heal it at the genetic level for ancestors is a powerful antidote for present personal struggles with discrimination. Shift in What and Who We Trust As our society has become more polarized and everyday life more uncertain, there has been a shift in what and who we trust. Last century, for example, it was more common to put our trust in institutions like governments, banks, the health system, and international forums. Today with that trust waning and new technologies available, we are more likely to rely on others outside the system – even strangers. Examples: many now use technologies like Lyft and Uber for rides, Airbnb for hotels, WebMD and Mayo Clinic apps and websites for health assessments, and mobile apps for blood pressure and heart-rate readings. Having a growing array of life tools outside the norm has boundless benefits and can help us to take charge of things that we used to delegate to others. A bonus: as educated consumers, we take back our power and become more actively engaged in managing our lives. A red flag: if we label the established systems as inherently bad in a black-and-white way, our linear thinking can backfire. No traditional system is all bad or all good. There are shades of gray. Sometimes we really need to see a doctor and use services of a bank. Governmental bodies and police forces carry out essential services needed for a stable and workable society. In summary, if you realize that you distrust institutions, be open to seeing both the good and the bad. Reforms of unworkable systems and institutions can occur when problems are brought to light and conscious citizens use their voices and actions to affect change. When we don’t do this, the crisis of distrust escalates. Distrust and Division Distrust and division go hand in hand. We see it every day in society. Distrust shows up in countless ways - as racism, gender bias, bigotry, national extremism, and religious intolerance. Division follows – people feeling separated by race, gender, class, religion, or political views. Contributing Factors When people are afraid enough and misinformed or lied to with propaganda, they are vulnerable to control and manipulation by those in power. In such circumstances, people can be convinced to accept unimaginable atrocities and loss of freedoms. People can be influenced by fake news and a twisting of the facts, feeling divided against their neighbors and even their own families. In extreme situations, people will even kill one another. There are countless examples of this throughout humanity’s history - including in the next phase of history that humanity is now creating moment-by-moment in present time. Response to Distrust When the societal tide turns towards distrust on a big enough scale, people may respond with anger or apathy. If people feel that their voice isn’t heard by political decision makers, they may withdraw from active engagement in typical channels like voting or peaceful protests. This is usually an emotional response, and is self-sabotage because personal power is unconsciously given away. A disempowered group of people is even more susceptible to control and abuse by those in power. Tyrants and power-hungry leaders seeking to make their mark on the world can take advantage of the void created by a disempowered and silent populace. The unsuspecting people may even see the unscrupulous leaders as “saviors” – as though they are the only ones who can fix things. In a distrustful society, people can be convinced of falsehoods by politicians, media, or special interest groups that know how to craft a disinformation campaign. This has happened throughout history. However, today the potential negative impact is substantially greater than ever before. People often get their news online through infotainment disguised as facts. A lie told repeatedly over weeks or months can be accepted as truth. It’s like the public becomes numb to the information, unconsciously reacting to it without question. Cycles of Distrust Throughout history, we’ve had cycles of distrust followed by times of building trust and collaboration. Examples: Italy’s notorious dictator Mussolini in the 1920s capitalized on distrust and used propaganda to fuel his rise to power – founding fascism, dismantling constitutional limits on his power, and creating a police state. From 1941-45, the Nazis under Hitler systematically carried out a mass genocide of Jews. The UN in 1948 adopted a universal set of human rights, sending a signal to oppressive leaders that disregard for human rights is intolerable. The International Space Station, first launched in 1998 to study the Earth and space, was made possible through a trusted partnership between several countries. The tide turned abruptly on September 11, 2001 with terror attacks on US soil –leaving a marker of distrust still witnessed today. Distrust of crisis proportions doesn’t appear overnight, but develops in a gradual process as people lose trust in each other and in the very institutions that keep things working. In an atmosphere of distrust, society does not function well. Without trust and cooperation, basic things like markets and long-term planning are compromised. Chaos reigns, slowing progress in addressing key issues impacting not only quality of life but continued sustainability of life on Earth. Examples: climate, peace, and global resources. The Personal Level What’s unfolding in society is not just something outside of you. There is a very personal level involved. It is about you and everyone you love. Here are a few examples to help you understand the big picture. As you are reading this portion, too, keep in mind that this personal level applies to countless people across the world. Some may be in your family or other circles. Some may be strangers. All represent some piece of the whole – now being played out across the world as a crisis of distrust. Every single one, including you, needs your love and compassion. First, it’s not easy as an individual to live in a society that doesn’t function well due to division and distrust. Daily life routines can be disrupted because of ongoing intensity, uncertainty, and dramas that often are of a startling nature. Not knowing what’s going to happen next can keep you on edge. The unknowns now are greater than most of us have experienced in this lifetime. If you are an empath - sensing the chaotic and nervous pulse of society - these times can be even more challenging. Second, you likely are processing your own pieces of distrust. Some are influenced not only by recent events, but by past life influences recorded in your DNA. You may distrust certain individuals, categories of people, or those who serve society in key roles. Examples of people: politicians, wealthy people, lobbyists, journalists, police, and other authority figures. Examples of institutions and business: government, media, multinationals, big retailers, and things representing the status quo. Third, living in a climate of distrust may catalyze self-doubts and a deeper soul searching about your life purpose and how you fulfill it. Any tendency you previously had to distrust yourself and your decisions may be amplified in this cycle. One way this could play out is an increased worry about the future. You may not trust that things will get better, or that things will get better for you personally. When faced with a deadline to make a life-changing decision, you might distrust yourself to choose the correct option. Fourth, a world filled with distrust and division can feel unsafe. There are countless reasons you might feel insecure. A big one many people fear is a possible terror attack. It’s also common to feel unsafe about potentials for identity theft or cyber bullying. In places with recent regime change bringing dictatorial-type leaders to power, people are insecure about preserving their freedoms. And, of course, in the background for people everywhere is the concern about world peace and the tenuous nature of preserving it given the number of power-hungry leaders. Fifth, a climate of distrust between countries can negatively impact the economy and your standard of living. Example: a tribal-mindset to trade has historically backfired. In 1930 after the US stock market crash, the US enacted the Smoot-Hawley Tariff to raise taxes on imports. The idea was to keep out cheap imports and create jobs. This backfired. US consumers had to pay more for imported products, so they were not better off, and the economy took longer to recover from the Depression. Sixth, resurgence in tribalism is likely to bring to the surface humanity’s ancient unresolved patterns of discrimination in all of its forms. This supreme distrust of the “other” could involve things like race, religion, gender, national identification, and sexual orientation. You may not personally experience discrimination. However, you likely know of someone impacted. As long as discrimination exists, the loving world all of us want cannot fully manifest. Seventh, countries having tribal squabbles can delay or even reverse progress to address climate change. What this means on an everyday personal level is more extreme weather, increased air pollution, adverse health effects, rising sea levels impacting heavily populated coastal areas, species die-off, and an increasingly less sustainable planet for future generations. What’s Needed Next With a crisis of distrust coloring everyday life, it is imperative that we divine changemakers take an active role in transforming our world and our way of life. This is not the time to take a back seat and silently watch as leaders govern through lawmaking and executive orders. We must have a voice. Elements of a Democracy A democracy functions and upholds freedoms when citizens are actively engaged. This means that people become educated on issues and candidates ahead of elections, vote, observe how leaders conduct the business of government, and feel free to criticize leaders without retribution. Criticism can take the form of peaceful protests. Citizens are allowed to assemble freely to discuss views. Elections are free and fair for all. A workable democracy has a free press with regular access to governmental workings and leaders. The government in power does not censor information, news sources, or specific journalists. Divine Changemakers – Making a Difference Here are suggestions for making a difference in 2017 and beyond. As a divine changemaker, you are alive now to make changes for a more loving world. You stand at the forefront of the massive shift happening now. This role is actually encoded within your very DNA. Having this role means that you are on the leading edge of change, experiencing many things before others do, and helping to lead the way forward. Indeed, you are at your best when you are actively engaged in your divine changemaker role. What You Can Do in 2017 Stay conscious and aware of yourself - including your thoughts, emotions, and actions. Extend that conscious awareness outside of you, to other people and world events. Remind yourself daily that your energy matters, and use that energy for good. No matter how crazy things seem, remember daily that you are not a victim. You are a conscious being at cause in life, co-creating your own reality and your world. Use your thoughts and actions constructively to make a difference in big and small things. Be the one in your circles who smiles, finds humor in the bizarre, and applies kindness. Do not give up on yourself or on humanity as a whole. Strive to see the good in yourself and others. Do this even when focusing on someone you dislike. Do this for yourself after you have had a bad day and feel discouraged. Remembering the basic goodness in all people helps you to go on during difficult times. Cope better with unknowns and fears about the future by coming back to yourself in the present. No one knows for sure exactly what will happen next, on a personal level or in the outer world. On a quantum level, there are endless possibilities for what tomorrow might look like. Rest your overthinking mind, then, and put your focus on the present moment. Treat it as the precious time that it truly is. Upset about what you see in the outer world? Get in touch with your feelings and why you have them. Once you are conscious to your feelings, turn your criticism into benevolent action. Rather than simply complain to others, find your positive voice of change and act on it as a citizen of the world. Voice your thoughts within your community, on a grassroots level in your country, and to the political leaders who represent you at all levels of government. As you voice your opinions, visualize your words being received and acted upon. Become one who helps repair division through consciousness and peaceful actions. Invite a knowing of the causes and places that most need you in this role. Add power to your role with daily visualizing and intentions – seeing yourself as a bridge builder and peacemaker. Become vigilant about your intake of information and apply a healthy skepticism. Avoid becoming duped by fake news and political propaganda by becoming astute in digesting news. Slow down, be present, and question what you hear. Avoid getting your news by scanning headlines. Get your news from multiple sources. Insist that it be reliable, with several credible named sources that you can validate. If something seems too outlandish to be true, that should be a big red flag to check out the information. Fair news won’t report only one side. A fair story will be current – watch for stories that recycle information or photos to create bias. Most likely, we’ll be witnessing a number of unprecedented events in 2017. Some may be shocking, some simply surprising. A big underlying theme throughout the year will be unpredictability. Continue reading to find out about the silver linings and the seeds of hope that indeed exist side-by-side with the disarray. Discover what these mean for you. Future Seeds of Hope Regardless of how crazy things become in 2017, life will go on. Your plans and projects can be re-energized within the new energies. Spiritual transformation potentials can be amplified by leaps and bounds. Relationships – new and current – can manifest in ways more supportive of you and your path. One silver lining in 2017 is the potential for new beginnings. The energies will support this. On a personal level, think of this as a blessing for your life and what you want to manifest. Even your established projects having success could benefit from adding something to the mix – like an additional collaborative partner or a new specialty that adds to what you already have. Revive a current relationship by finding an additional shared focus or introducing new ways of being with each other. A second silver lining in 2017 involves change and your response to that change. The acceleration of change is not slowing down. Change is like a palpable force stimulating transformation of all things that need to evolve. Interestingly, while we humans are wired to dislike change, when the momentum of change becomes super-charged and we realize we’re better off going with it, we find ourselves at a beneficial tipping point. At that stage, the sheer force of this momentum ironically can make it easier to adapt and evolve. Think of this year as a crucial time to build a new infrastructure for your life – inner and outer. The energies support this! As you focus on the specifics of what you want to create, you will be planting seeds of hope for your near and longer-term future. This kind of seed planting is happening already during these unique moments on Earth. Humanity as a collective is regularly planting the seeds of the next creations. The key for you now is to become conscious of your personal role in the planting. It’s you taking charge of you and your new directions. It’s you accepting your quantum power to create, change creations, and invent new ones. This is big! Doing this is what your soul wants for you. You are not a cog in a machine, or a hub on humanity’s wheel of evolution. You are an eternal and timeless divine being who can create in boundless ways. Trust this. Trust in your ability to make a difference. Trust in the power of your love to fuel the perfect next steps for your life. Trust in the divine voice within you that knows truth. Know beyond a doubt that you are meant to be on Earth now for a grand purpose that only your soul fully understands. Trust that this is valid, and let it guide you step-by-step throughout the year.
