Oh, I'd love to learn!! I didn't really know much about punk until hobie brown, and even then, my knowledge is limited. I think it's so cool, though. I bought a vest to like dress up but I never got to doing it. I crocheted spikes to put on it but I couldn't figure out how to attach them and gave up.
Anyways I'm so glad you like it!!!
Here!!!You don't have go through all this all at once ofc and it's black-centric due to me being afrolatina + The extremely large role black people play in punk history^^

Hello, Nire! I saw your reblog earlier and it made me reread. Thanks! Gosh, I miss them.
Picking a passage from this piece was /hard/. In the end, it's either The Mirror/Glass or The Wall, but I went with Mirror.
“I’m okay—it’s just… I’m really dead,” she said wonderingly. “You know, they say people never really get to see what they look like, because mirrors are reverse images and cameras distort and—what I’m saying is, have I always looked like that?”
“No,” he replied, low enough that if anyone walked in, they would assume that he was talking to the dead body. “You were alive.”
“I don’t feel dead, is the thing,” she said. “I can feel everything you’re feeling. When you walk, it feels like I’m walking. When you see things, I see them too. I mean, sure, it’s a little different—you should really get your eyes checked, by the way, I think you’re slightly myopic—and I can also sort of read your mind, but none of this feels like how I thought being dead would feel like.”
And then—
“Is this normal? I mean, you… you did this, right? I feel like this isn’t normal. Also, can you look away from my cadaver for a little bit? It’s disturbing.”
He obliged, turning his gaze ceiling-ward. His eyes watered in the face of the dry brightness of the neon lights, his throat a knot of fishbones. There were no words to quite explain what he was and what he had done; instead, he let himself think it, hurling his mind to the past—distant and otherwise—and allowed her to watch the memories unfurl, from the first time he’d eaten a soul to the moment he panicked and entombed her within him.
Eventually, she said, “I see,” and he wasn’t ready for the sheer relief brought by her matter-of-fact response. She added, after a while, “I don’t suppose you can… reverse it? Pour me back into my own body?”
A futile question, futilely asked. He didn’t bother with lies and platitudes. The knowledge was real in him: she was a shard of glass lodged in his flesh; pulling her out wasn’t going to make the mirror whole again, and he might even bleed to death from the wound. Now, there was only living with it, with her—only the pain of her fragmented life as he carried her around with him.
- i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
((THE soulmate & cohabitation fic EVER. But watch out.)) I adore this so very much and I adore you. 🧡
HELLOOOO
OKOKOK sorry this took a while but this fic is actually one of my biggest pride and joys, and definitely my favorite of all the fics I've written for Vincenzo (and I wrote... some. lmao). Anyway, the Wall is the scene that I had wanted to write from the beginning, it was probably the reason this fic existed at all. I can talk about that (and the media that inspired it in the first place) FOREVER.
But that's not the scene you asked about, hehehe, so I'll restrain myself.
The Mirror scene as you dubbed it is part of the story set-up; as far as fantasy stories go, this one is definitely very soft fantasy, but I needed to set some rules anyway. Like, the obvious question is, can he spit her soul back out into her body? Definitely not or we wouldn't have a story (or well. it would be a very different story) but Cha Young would ask that question, and the reader would probably ask that question. So the main thing the scene asserts is that she's not coming back to life like nothing ever happened. This is permanent. The story is about them permanently stuck together in his body. I was actually kind of worried people would be mad at me for not giving them a "happy ending", but to me the happy ending lies in them learning the joy of this new shape of life they now have, rather than him carrying the guilt of her death the whole time, and I was hoping to hint at that ending through this scene.
The thing about how people never can actually see themselves is a fun fact that every so often haunts me. We don't 100% know what we look like! We know how we look like in the mirror and how we look like photographed, but neither of those are the same as how we can see other people directly, as they really are. And even here, now, Cha Young isn't really seeing herself and she never will. She's seeing her own dead body -- and dead bodies look very much unlike living ones -- through a slightly myopic pair of eyes that's not her own.
(Yet.) (Part of the story is also about how the body turns from something she borrows from him into something she actually shares ownership with him, and that's why around the wall scene their body and body parts are referred to as "their" and not "his".)
Anyway I'll stop rambling before I bore you but thank you SO much for asking about this fic and giving me an excuse to revisit it <3 <3 <3
send me a short extract from my writing and i'll give you a "dvd commentary" about it!

So I startet a Bleach re-read project while at the same time re-watching the anime in synchro to each other, because I was interested in how much both differ from each other. Actually, the Bleach anime is well known for changing or cutting entire scenes of the manga for whatever reason and till to this day I have no idea why the anime studio thought it was a good idea to do so. So far I only did the first chapter/first episode and oh boy there are already so many changes I had to split this post into two parts.
To be fair, some of these differences are not that bad or important nor do they disturb the flow of the story, but most of them are still completly unnecessairy or replaced with filler moments and its no wonder why the author Tite Kubo got so frustrated with the anime studio and forced them to send him the scripts of every single episode before release. Espicially in the first two arcs all these differences are very obvious and they only start to lessen after the soul society arc. So here is a list of all the changes, differences and cuts I was able to find. Warning the list is LONG!
In part 1, I want to focus mostly on everything that was in the manga, but cut/not shown or play out a little bit different in the anime in chronical order. I also included a lot of minor things. Lets start with the madness.
Toshi-bro demanding to know if Ichigo has a death wish.
Tumblr media
The other skateboarders sort of calling Ichigo a psychopath as he stomps Toshis head into the ground.
Tumblr media
Ichigo insulting Mit-bro when he addresses him and the latter repeating Ichigos insult and his friends checking on him after Ichigo kicks him down.
Tumblr media
The skateboard gang promising to never disrespect the memorial of the dead girl again as they run off and Ichigo apologizing to the dead girl for using her to scare off the skateboard gang and the dead girl assuring him that she was happy to help him out.
Tumblr media
Isshin Kurosaki demanding to know if Ichigo knows what time it is after kicking him and Karin Kurosaki commenting on Ichigos ability to see, talk to, touch, and interact with ghosts which makes him a quadruple A special level spirit medium.
Tumblr media
Yuzu Kurosaki expressing a desire to see ghosts clearly and Karin bluntly stating that she does not share this desire and her bringing up her latest plan to profit of Ichigos ability to see spirits and Ichigo reacting with outrage to this. Also Isshin expressing confusion prior to being thrown off by Ichigo.
Tumblr media
Ichigos internal monologue about being able to see spirits for as long as he can remember and never even considering the existence of Shinigami.
Yuzu deciding to bring dinner to Ichigos room later and Isshin wondering why Ichigo does not share his problems with his father, prompting Karin to assert that she would not share her problems with him either, meanwhile Ichigo wondering why his family is so strange and mistakenly identifying the Jigokucho that flies through his room as a black swallowtail butterfly.
Tumblr media
Isshin clashing with Ichigo over how much noise the latter is making and revealing that he cannot see Rukia, to Ichigos confusion.
Tumblr media
Yuzu comforting Isshin after his clash with Ichigo "hurt him".
Tumblr media
Rukia deciding to only punish Ichigo with a minor case of paralysis for his attitude.
Tumblr media
Rukia naming the technique she used to help the glasses-wearing ghost pass over as Konso (= Soul Burial) and her noting that it no longer seems necessary to ask Ichigo if he believes her tale.
Tumblr media
Ichigo wiping his drawn mustache off on the floor and asking Rukia if a Hollow is nearby, which she confirms, followed by him berating her for standing around and talking.
Tumblr media
Rukia noting that she seems to be hearing Fishbone Ds howl through some sort of unseen filter and wondering how Ichigo heard it before she did and Ichigo asking if the noise he just heard was the howl of a Hollow.
Tumblr media
Ichigo demanding that Rukia undo her spell, because its his family getting attacked right now, only for Rukia to counter that he cannot do anything and will only add to the bodycount and wondering what is happening to her after opening the door and experiencing the powerful sensation of Fishbone Ds reiatsu.
Tumblr media
Karin explaining that Isshin was attacked and Yuzu was taken before begging Ichigo to run away.
Tumblr media
Rukia assuring Ichigo that Karin is okay and simply passed out.
Tumblr media
Rukia wondering just what Ichigo is after he breaks out of his restraints.
Tumblr media
A wounded Isshin lying unconscious on the floor when Ichigo reaches the living room.
Tumblr media
Ichigo internally identifying Fishbone D as a Hollow upon seeing him and expressing fear at the latter being a monster instead of humanoid like all the other spirits he has seen before.
Tumblr media
Yuzu reacting to Ichigos arrival and confronting of Fishbone D.
Tumblr media
Ichigos baseball bat being broken by Fishbone Ds punch.
Tumblr media
Ichigo bringing up Rukias explanation of Hollows attacking people to eat their souls and questioning why Fishbone D attacked his family if not for this reason.
Tumblr media
Rukia being sent crashing into a wall by a surprise attack from Fishbone D while distracted by Ichigo, which leaves her bleeding from a head wound.
Tumblr media
Ichigo demanding that Fishbone D kill him and leave the others alone, prompting Rukia to call him a fool.
Tumblr media
Ichigo apologizing and Rukia stating that she cannot console him due to being too badly injured to continue fighting and Ichigo internally claiming that it is all his fault and that they are all going to die now.
Tumblr media
Ichigo seeing Yuzu begging him to run away even while nearly unconscious and resolving to follow Rukias plan as a result.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rukia realizing that Ichigos strong spiritual energy was the source of the unseen filter obscuring Fishbone Ds presence from her.
Tumblr media
Rukia wondering what Ichigo is after he kills Fishbone D.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So part 1 is done. The second part will focus on all the differences that are in the anime but not in the manga of chapter 1/episode 1. Here is a link to part 2.

man being vi in arcane sucks so bad
its really easy to look at what happened to jinx and think holy fuck that sucks. bc it does! but vi went through as much shit. god.
the first thing is how she’s kinda parentified a bit by vander. he means well, and shit he’s doing a lot better for these kids than leaving them out on the street, but in act 1 vi is still a kid too! you can see what vander was trying to communicate with that "it's on you" convo but he left the complete wrong message. sometimes it's not on you, actually.
then her entire family barring her sister is blown up. by her sister. she forces herself to be an adult after realising she's losing it and makes the incredibly mature decision to walk away to cool down and process, but fate interferes in the worst way. she's thrown in prison.
im not going to get into how awful prison is but let's agree throwing someone into prison is just. one of the worst ways to ruin people. vi was subject to constant beatings and isolation. the fact that she's as stable as she is coming out of it is kind of a miracle.
by caitlyn comes in and busts her out. and vi is admittedly taking her for a bit of a ride to begin with. i don't think vi necessarily doesn't want to help her but finding powder >>>>>> getting this piltie chick dirt on silco.
and all she hears from silco's goons is that oh, jinx works for silco. she's like his daughter. they're family. which must be such a horrifying thing to learn when your last memory of the dude is him kidnapping your adoptive dad and ruining your life.
and then she finally finds powder and it's good, and things are almost working out, but caitlyn shows up, and aggresses her a bit, and she almost manages to regain control of the situation but then ekko runs in and ruins everything.
and vi is so pleased to see ekko but how much must it have hurt to see one of her only allies down in the undercity tell her that her whole reason for living -- to get powder back -- is pointless? vi talks so much about how the thought of getting back to powder was her only motivation for getting through each day in prison.
and vi doesn't give up. but she never gets any real agency to change things with powder after that. she has to chose between confronting powder or helping caitlyn get the gem back (to presumably save caitlyn's life and prevent all-out war between piltover and zaun). and vi is learning to see the big picture! she doesn't want to leave powder behind, not at all. but she's starting to believe in what people have been telling her, just a bit.
then nothing fucking works in piltover, because why would it? it all goes to shit and she heads back to zaun in despair. at least she wins vs sevika in round 2? but it's a fight full of misery.
and then there's the whole dinner party scene. vi just has not had a proper chance to sit down with powder in a situation where they can talk. so vi never gets the chance to understand what her sister is saying. she's trying -- she's doing her best -- and i really do believe that given the opportunity, vi would be able to understand. but she's never given that chance. it's out of her hands.
and then jinx fires fishbones.
vi spends so much of her time just. trying to catch up. trying to do the right thing. but she never gets the opportunities she needs to. really know what she needs to do.
but she tries so, so hard.

Is it me or during the wacky family reunion dinner scene at the finale jinx tried to make it seem to Vi that Silco didn’t matter much to her. Thoughts?
Hi Anon!
That is a very interesting take... I... think not? Mostly because she was so high on the shimmer juice, and so obviously upset. I don't think there was a lot of artifice going on, besides the obvious "uwu face" she made at Vi when asking her to kill Cait and the whole fake beheading antics.
The short reply is : I didn't take it as Jinx making an effort to downplay Silco's importance, but rather her not caring to explain/correct.
The long ramble version is :
I think Jinx truly misunderstood Silco's meaning, at the statue, because she's so emotional in response to his clarification about loving her and never surrendering her. Hence she had him present at that table because she was angry with him too, and it fit her crazy plans for a "family dinner".
To be FAIR, Jinx has a very strange relationship with Silco, which makes me think that she might not love him for who he is, might now know him that well—not as well as he knows her or values her, at least. During the entire show we see her strive for his respect ("He'll think I'm weak!") but we never see her acknowledging his dreams/goals, or actually even being careful about them (cue blowing up a ton of enforcers to get the gem, which stressed Silco the fuck out, even if he saw the gem as potentially worth it).
Overall, they seem to have a close relationship emotionally, but with Silco being the more mature and stable one. She's clearly dismissive of his well being at times too (the way he reacts to her hurting him with his own medicine gear really hints that this isn't the first time she blows up like that). While he worries about her mental and physical states.
And it ends up at the dinner, where again she's manhandling him, and again he's taking her side despite everything, defending her and trying to get her to calm down.
She's clearly in an altered shimmer induced state anyway... But it seemed to me that she wasn't even trying for Vi to perceive Silco as anything in particular.
Vi was there to chose: Jinx or Cait, pick one. Silco was there because she misunderstood his speech (and because naratively he HAS to be there, so he can die). But Vi's role at the dinner seems a little unrelated to him/his presence. Jinx isn't forcing them to get along, or talk.
If Vi DID kill Cait, I'm sure the "what now?" conversation would have included Silco. As it is, I think after Silco dies and Vi says the grossly unperceptive "It'll be all right", like Silco truly was meaningless and couldn't have meant much, Jinx says nothing because there is nothing she could say that would make Vi understand, after she misunderstood EVERYTHING about Jinx for so long, and so much.
Jinx isn't dumb. The set up of the dinner table really reveals she knows that Vi still perceives her as "little Powder". She spent far too long becoming Jinx and claiming "Powder is dead" for her to seriously be considering "reverting" to Powder. Silco sort of calls out her bluff too. I think she's couching the choice in very obvious terms, and because Vi won't accept Jinx anyway.
Vi is looking for Powder. If she choses her over Cait, she'd be doing it for Powder, not for Jinx.
It's a weird, fucked up choice to be given... But people by and large misunderstand Jinx and who she is and says she is, throughout the show. I think Silco is the only one who really understands. In that one moment where she takes the gag off, the first thing he does is to scream at Vi to stop dead-naming Jinx.
I think, with his own maturity and experience, he understands that it's important for Jinx to be a "new person". It happened to him too, though without the need for a new name. He repeatedly encourages her to let "Powder die", and the show gets out of its way to prove to us that it works well for her (she happily works to create Fishbones basically overnight, I mean, wow), and her mental state immediately deteriorates as she sees Sevika was right and Vi is alive (and with Cait).
Jinx is at her most unstable and miserable when she's being "torn" by Powder, and hence recalls Vi's abandonment.
Where the hell am I going with this? (backreads) Ah, yes.
We tend to take away a lot of agency from Jinx because of her blatant mental illness, but if you take her at her word and listen to her, she TELLS us that Powder is dead, and she wants to be known, and RESPECTED as Jinx.
Vi never does that, nor does she accept or understand that Silco is someone meaningful to her. She's told by Sevika, by Jinx herself, by Ekko, by Silco... And Vi never, ever accepts it. Because she can't, imo, not out of some mean-spirited, thought out decision.
To be fair to her, it's hard to read the room correctly when Silco is tied and gagged across the same sordid table... (Though I guess it's also a hint. If Jinx will tie up Vi to a chair, her doing it to Silco too isn't a particular indication that she doesn't care for him.)
But I feel like Jinx lacks the will to drive that point home. No matter what she does, Vi refuses to accept her as she is. Vi misreads the room. Vi wants Powder, not Jinx, Silco's daughter.
So when Jinx finally breaks and makes her choice, Vi's "understanding" doesn't matter so much. What difference would it even make? Jinx says her piece, and it sounds almost like it's more to herself, or addressed to the silent Vi that was with her all this time. It reads like a self-actualisation, or an admission of the ugly truth that she's been keeping at bay all this time.
Vi can't love her as she is, she's too different... Correcting her to explain she deeply cared about Silco and resents her sister's misunderstanding would not make Vi love her more.
So instead she goes and blows up the Council.
Those are just my thoughts though, as demanded :p

Indissolubility & Lonan x Harrison
There was something inconceivably indissoluble about them—their bond mirror-like, one making a decision, and the other mimicking it with vigour somewhere else, unknowingly inseparable. —Feeding Habits 2021
On my Moth Work re-read, I was shocked to see I’d written a scene that (unbeknownst to me) repeated in Feeding Habits (book 2). The above is a FH line describing exactly what Lonan and Harrison are like: unknowingly inseparable, always on a path toward each other, even if they don’t realize it!
Summary: After 2 separate dinners a year apart, Harrison and Lonan both drop things (lol) when they see each other after extended breaks.
Just so y’all know: ALL of this was completely unintentional. Down to the flowers!
Top 2: Lonan’s POV, Moth Work (2020)
Bottom 2: Harrison’s POV, Feeding Habits (2021)
Text transcript under the cut!
Lonan’s POV:
Lonan brings over glasses, the leftover white wine, undoes the curtain so the moonlight streams in on the table. He brings the first pot over, and then the next, arranging them with his good hand. Eliza and Suzanna are in the middle of talking about the versatility of nutmeg when there’s a knock at the door, so Lonan takes it upon himself to answer it. He wipes his hands on his jeans and brings a rose with him—he doesn’t know why. He undoes the master lock first, then the deadbolt, the flower fit between his knuckles so when he opens the door, it accidentally pricks him.
In the kitchen, Suzanna laughs at Eliza’s joke, something vaguely about Geminis, or maybe she says alibis. He doesn’t quite hear it. He doesn’t mean to drop the rose, but it falls with a muffled thump between them, a floral border easy to penetrate. Lonan blinks many times. He breathes many times. He counts many times. But after all the tests—the blinking, the breathing, the counting, the person at the door doesn’t change. Sunshine hair. Concerned mouth. Semi-crooked nose. Butterfly lashes. Eyes the colour of a kingfisher.
Harrison’s POV:
The apartment is dark when he tracks in. The scent of cinnamon steeps the air like Suzanna’s just pulled a saucepan of papas off the stove. At first he doesn’t hear it, but he should, the voices leafing the kitchen like a flit of moths. He steps out of his shoes but never sets anything down, even after he passes the coffee table. Two plates ringing the centre, streaked with caldeirada and bayleaf. A pitcher of lemonade sweating onto the glass. It is almost like he never left, like he and his mother shared dinner, sipped from each other’s cups, cleaned the tines of each other’s fishbones. And he almost believes it. He never went to the farm. The kittens are where he left them, just a few feet away, not in Brooklyn. He doesn’t have a job to tend to. He never fixed the coffee machine. He didn’t go to the convenience store. He is not slathered in sunscreen, not holding a dog collar or pastries or a bouquet of tulips. He never dove into the ocean like it was some port to asylum and didn’t emerge soaked and walking half-dead to his apartment because he never left. This reality is so easy to believe that he is unfazed by the voices and how they get louder when he reaches the kitchen, when one says, “Were you shopping for the apocalypse?” and the other one chokes on its drink and apologizes for its rudeness and stares at him in daydream, those eyes like forget-me-nots, gas fires, sea-foam, the wing of a starling, the burning ocean, his drop earring.
Harrison is grateful he is soaking wet when he enters that kitchen and Suzanna and Lonan sit at the table sharing a box of petit fours. At least he has an excuse when he drops everything.

if you thought “family tree (intro)” was sad allow me to introduce you to “family tree” - a truly heartbreaking Jinx / Jinx and Silco song
“These crosses all over my body, Remind me of who I used to be, Give myself up to him in offering, Let him make a woman out of me” The acceptance of what life is now - being molded into something for the cause, even if it’s “love”
“I'm just a child but I'm not above violence, My mama raised me better than that, When the preacher talks, that man demands his silence, And daddy said, "Shoot first, then run and don't look back" That first line is SO Jinx is hurts, while that last piece of advice is giving Silco
“So take me down to the river and bathe me clean, Put me on the back of your white horse to ride, All the way to the chapel, let you wash all over me” um hello pilt river “baptism” scene with silco and jinx i love suffering
“I've killed before and I'll kill again, Take the noose off, wrap it tight around my hand, They say heaven hath no fury like a woman scorned, And baby, hell don't scare me, I've been times before” ugh this just speaks to how desensitized Jinx has become to it all - she’s been through hell and come out the other side of it and the violence of it all is numb to her now. she’s become what Silco (and herself) created, but at what cost?
youtube
Oh man this is such a perfect Jinx and Silco number - complete with all those grimdark undertones and unhealthy dynamics.
Give myself up to him in offering/Let him make a woman out of me
Very interesting line in that the Council archives of Jinx's diary have something very similar (and close enough that the subtext comes off a bit disturbing for anyone unfamiliar with Silco and Jinx's actual bond).
Silco says take care of ██████████
I took care alright, Me and Fishbones
Fishbones was in the mood to blow something up
How could I say no
Now I'm taken care of too - the nice kind of taken care of
Silco trusts me
Followed by
I'm not a kid anymore.
Just hhffdsfs T_T Poor Jinx...

Hey everyone, while I work on a few different fics, I wanted to talk about Arcane. I haven’t really seen anyone talk about this or make comparisons so I thought I’d put in my 2 cents.
Warnings: Spoilers for Arcane, contains theories/thoughts for S2, lemme know if I need to add more
Ok so we all know that moment when Powder makes her monkeybomb and lets it loose in the building right? It was devastating, yes and I really loved seeing the different perspectives of the bomb going off so we got to see what happened to everyone.
But I’d like to talk about the first person to get hit. Deckard. Powder also gets hit around the same time and gets blasted off the window ledge, but I wanna focus on Deckard. At this point, Deckard is the closest to the bomb when it goes off, but he is a Shimmer-monster.
The first time I saw that scene, I actually expected him to be at least injured. I pretty much knew the bomb wouldn’t have straight killed him but I did expect him to be hurt. He seemed disoriented at first until Silco’s order of ‘kill them’ gets his attention.
I’ve seen Arcane 6 times start-finish along with watching individual episodes out of order and honestly, I hadn’t thought about Deckard a lot until a few days ago when I watched the finale and it finally hit me. I’m probably stupid or wrong about this and as an Arcane-only fan, I have no idea if this goes against the game or not, but I think Deckard was purposely supposed to survive Powder’s monkeybomb.
Lemme elaborate.
The setting of Arcane (currently) is Piltover, which is a huge city consisting of 2 parts, the ‘Topside’ (Piltover) and the Undercity (Zaun). They seem to be pretty opposite of each other so it makes sense that the technology available would be wildly different as well. In Piltover, we have the Hextech technology from Jayce/Viktor. In the Undercity, we have Shimmer/drug enhancements. Then we have Viktor, who merges the two, but that’s a whole other post but Viktor does play a role.
Anyways, this monkeybomb explosion is the first time we see the beginnings of both sciences interacting with each other. The bomb envelopes Shimmer-Deckard and even reaches Singed, his lab and Shimmer. And, as stated earlier, Shimmer-Deckard appears ok after the blast.
At first, I thought Deckard was supposed to be a sort of ‘sacrificial’ character to show the effect of Shimmer, but I also realize he’s actually pretty similar to Viktor. Both are from the Undercity and partner with a morally gray character (Viktor willing, Deckard not). Both are also forced to use Shimmer from their respective morally gray character (Viktor’s illness makes him feel like he has to while Silco literally kidnaps Deckard and makes him ‘volunteer’). And they both end up getting addicted to the Shimmer after their first use. Deckard willingly takes the vial Silco offered to him in ep3 as Vi+co try breaking Vander out and Viktor willingly goes to Singed for help in ep7 and is given a ‘variant’ of Shimmer, which Viktor merges with the hexcore.
Because Shimmer-Deckard was shown to survive the monkeybomb explosion *(which had 4 crystals inside)* with little injuries, I think that’s what’s gonna save Viktor from Jinx’s Fishbones rocket in the finale. I know I said I was an Arcane-only fan, and it’s true as I’ve never played LoL, but I did do some research about the game over the times I’ve watched the series. I used google, so please correct me if I’m wrong about anything.
Jinx uses a stabilized version of the hexgem to power Fishbones, but I believe the stabilized version is more powerful than the ‘un stabilized’ (jagged kind Powder found in Jayce’s apartment), but because Viktor has already merged Shimmer and Hextech, I believe whatever he’s created (that new kind of blood cell shown in ep7 I think) will allow him to survive the blast.
I believe Jayce is the only other Champion/playable character in the Council (I don’t think Mel is a LoL character) so I believe Viktor will also save Jayce as well. But Cait’s mom (Cassandra?), all those other council members and possibly, even Mel, will all die. I can see Mel going either way. One, she dies and Mel’s mom starts a war with Piltover. Two, Mel lives (is injured) and finishes her arc with her mother (the people who killed Mel’s brother still want vengeance).
But yeah, I just thought showing Shimmer-Deckard surviving the monkeybomb kind of foreshadows Viktor surviving Jinx’s rocket since Viktor’s also technically Shimmer-injected/fused as well.
Thanks for reading💖

That one scene in httyd
"Excuse me, barmaid! I'm afraid you got me the wrong offspring! I ordered an extra large boy with beefy arms, extra guts and glory on the side! This here, this is a talking fishbone!"
"No, you're thinking about this all wrong. It's not so much what you look like, it's what's inside that he can't stand!"
"Thank you, for summing that up."
Is Imnakit with his parents, especially as a teenager- as an adult, he simply vanished, and they never found him. They wanted someone strong, and in a way that's what they got- he's big, and stubborn as a mule, but he's also a pacifistic nerd who just wants to live in his temple and be kind. Of course, the reason they wanted a strong warrior for a child was so that he could survive the empire, but ultimately their pressure trying to make him as fierce as those who threatened him just made him feel like a disappointment, because that's how they treated him- a soft hearted disappointment because they thought that the negative reinforcement would encourage their child to be stronger. Didn't quite work out.
Had 3's mother stuck around, and 3 not been kidnapped, it would have been much the same. Subconsciously, with Imnakit, it had been better to lay with the devil he knew than something unfamiliar, and he ended up choosing a partner that was just as harsh as those he grew up around.

(I’m know I’ll never make a fic so throwing out an AU thing for arcane that’s lived in my head rent free)
Thinking about how Cait and Vi had no real way of knowing that Jinx had survived after the bridge fight (they don’t even know if Ekko made it out honestly) and all anyone really knew was that Silco had taken her body. Silco could’ve used that to his advantage when talking to Jayce. If he had been in the right headspace during the discussion he could’ve banked on the fact that he really had no idea where Jinx was at that point because she had disappeared without a trace.
“As it were, things like that do not come without their... causalities. We both lost people that day. It seems ill advised to seek a body to put on display in wake of a peace treaty, does it not? Might stir up some mixed feelings about your intentions. If it is evidence you want, you need not look further than the bridge. Her blood is all over it as well.”
Jayce stares at him, trying to read him right then, before begrudgingly and tentatively agreeing.
“Just know, if I find out you’re lying to me, your nation of Zaun will go down in flames. There are no second chances here, whether I want to give one or not. This is it.”
And just--- what if Jinx actually had disappeared for a considerable amount of time after the shimmer transformation? It was incredibly traumatic, propelled her into having an even harder time distinguishing fiction from reality and she just entered an absolute state of fog that made her feel the need to isolate. To think.
Silco had taken Sevika’s advice to heart. He really wouldn’t seek her out. He wanted to let her make the choice, even if victory felt hollow in her  absence. He needed to think about how he would make her return work anyways-- he would find out a way.
Cait seeks Vi out in the wake of this peace and Vi doesn’t know what to think about it. She does know that she doesn’t like it. It doesn’t feel... right. It feels wrong without her sister.
The finale seems like it is concluding with this ‘peace’ between the two cities that just feels... off. No one feels particularly content even in the wake of what should be a momentous breakthrough. There is relief but there is a looming feeling that something isn’t really adding up. There is even a distinct quiet as scenes pass by until the final scene is preceded by the sound of footsteps.  The last shot is of very familiar boots walking through the wreckage of a familiar factory as a new weapon slowly comes into view. Time for a wake up call.
----
S2 starts with Jinx using fishbones as a voice over from Cait says,
“There really does seem to always be a calm before the storm.”
------
And there would still be a tea party scene set up similarly---- but it is after that amount of time had past and as both Vi and Silco stir awake they spot Jinx leaning against a wall, her smaller gun held in her hand as she slowly looks up, a pink shine to her eyes. Something new to both of them.
“Miss me? I have this sinking suspicion you didn't. Huh. I wonder what's like to have the luxury to forget. After all, you two sure did. Guess you must've got what you needed from me. I should be happy about that. I've always been a real people pleaser--- but it just... feels like you two got the better end of the bargain. Peace. Power. All neatly tied up with a bow from yours truly. Don't say I never did anything for ya. Now I think it's time I do something for me. Don't you agree? But before I get to that--- Let's have a little chat.
----We really need to catch up."
and it's just downhill from there

arcane characters and their reverse icks ☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🕷› vi
coming out of the shower with her hair wet knowing just how good she looks. with her towel thrown over her neck, lounging across both shoulders, she'll smirk at you from across the room
"everything okay, cupcake?"
everything isn't okay and you know it, she especially knows it but you have to play dumb to preserve the last of your dignity
its evident from your body language to the way your eyes flutter around the room that you're flustered, and she loves that, truly. she loves poking fun of you, teasing you, leaving you red and momentarily perplexed
she'll walk closer to you, make you back up against a wall and pin you there with a dominant arm, watching you nervously look anywhere else but at her. or maybe that's all you're doing, so surprised that all you can do is gap at her smug face
she might leave you hanging, turn around and ruffle her dripping hair with her towel as if nothing happened, talking nonchalantly about your plans that afternoon. or, she might give in to your wishes because though she loves the way in which you react to her every move, she's also equally as infatuated
🕷› caitlyn
both of you quietly stealing snacks late at night only to suddenly find everything hilarious. the sweltering summer night had been unbearably unforgiving, and you found yourself unable to sleep. thankfully, as you had been sleeping at caitlyn's, she had a similar issue
cue a disastrously serious mission to sneak some leftover cookies from that night's dinner and to heat up some warm milk
you take it far too seriously really, all hushed up and signalling one another from adjacent walls, peeking around corners as if anyone else would be up at this god forsaken hour. the thought hits you randomly and a quiet chuckle escapes you. caitlyn catches your eye, ready to shush you when she finds your laughter contagious
you both attempt to smuggle your giggles behind your palms, avoiding eye contact, but you find it futile and you burst into a somewhat muffled fit of laughter
later, you end up dancing under refrigerator light, still hyped up from your previous antics. you note the way caitlyn seems so relaxed in your arms, so at peace with having fun around you
🕷› jinx
drawing on your arm when silco scolds her, you somehow dragged along
it's no secret that she isn't paying attention to what he's saying, not that he notices, his mind (and mouth) too preoccupied with recounting the tales of the topside destruction that had just occurred
she nudges you with her elbow and you turn, looking down at the drawing of her and you blowing up a building. you giggle under your breath, her head perking up slightly from the palm of her hand, before reaching for your own pen. you add little details like fishbones, your preferred weapon and little evil smiling emotes (which had originally been normal smiley faces before she added the eyebrows)
you'd take turns adding elements like sevika with crossed out eyes laying passed out on the ground, a descending disco ball that looked suspiciously like a bomb and even silco who looked so realistic with a permanent, exaggerated scowl on his face
soon, you have a whole comic scene with annotations on your arm, courtesy of both jinx and you before silco notices. his uproar is kind of funny as you make eye contact with jinx
you'll forever treasure the drawing and the add-ons imprinted into your arm, and preserved that way for however long you're able to, and she'll forever treasure the memory of your gleeful eyes, sharing a moment with her
🕷› ekko
teaching you how to ride the firelight boards (?) because though it's not really your style, you just really wanted to have him around you
of course, he's happy to teach you. at first, you're determined to get it right, a foot here, the other there, but the shift in balance is something too unfamiliar that you really struggle
eventually, his verbal teaching turns a little physical. he begins to readjust your feet positioning gently, almost cautiously at first, before placing his hands on your hips, shoulders and arms once you tell him it's okay. you begin to grow a little too conscious of his touches and words. and maybe he is too, just a bit
"c'mon, hot stuff, just put your arms out and hang on."
somehow, after things flip for the better and you're up in the air, you turn a full 180 (metaphorically and physically) and suddenly .. fall
a startled yelp leaps from your throat and you brace yourself for a painful impact with the ground. that is, until a hand loops around your waist and you're pulled into someone's chest. when you open your eyes, you're met with ekko, the both of you suspended in the air on his board.
the two of you take a breather, both coming to terms with the fact that youre both okay when he sighs, pulling you closer. "let's try something else."
🕷› viktor
sleepy, distracted kisses on the cheek as he promises you that you're not bothering him despite his attention solely focused on his project. you don't mind; you could look at him work all day, eyebrows knitted together and lips scrunched in an effort to concentrate
every so often he'll remember your presence and lean over absentmindedly to kiss your cheek or mutter quick affirmations of his love for you
"are you getting tired? don't stay up too late."
you know he says this to show he cares for you, but you can't help but feel its awfully hypocritically considering his unhealthy state. usually it'll be you who has to pull him away from his studies and him who has to convince you just a few more minutes
and of course you let him be because well, he caught you off guard with a meaningful kiss. you pretend to be reluctant but let's be honest, his shows of love are so subtle that when they happen, you're always left in awe and melting
he knows his effect on you sometimes and you don't miss his quick smirk at your flustered state
🕷› silco
remembering small details about you, even though you have your doubt's about his affections
sometimes, loving silco came with a list of doubts you were afraid to confront, especially when his attention always seemed to be pulled from multiple directions either from his sinister, diabolical plans, or his kind-of daughter, jinx
sometimes, you wondered if he truly did care for you, or if you were just convenient.
but loving him did have benefits because though his lack of affection stung sometimes, you realised his love language was a lot more subtle and something to be treasured
like when you're dining at new, exotic places that he takes you out to, reprimanding the waiter about your food allergies even when you yourself have forgotten. or when he chides others to be quiet when you're trying to doze off or when he wordlessly allows you to lay your head on his lap, shuffling even to ensure you're comfortable
or even after when you mention your insecurities to him, and he makes the extra effort to reaffirm his love for you with fleeting, random touches, and quick, somewhat awkward words. you accept that loving silco is quietly intimate though still as full
Tumblr media
a/n ; thanks for reading this headcannon ! i actually didnt know what to put for silco because i know a lot of yall Love him but i .... i ......... well, i'll leave the fixing of his character to you. ALSO i unfortunately do not remember what those firelight hover boards are called? if you could lmk for future references, that would be appreciated. hope you enjoyed ☆

Book Of Silco: Chapter 4
Tumblr media
Silco: Will he live? Singed: Long enough.
Tumblr media
Silco: Beautiful, aren't they? Yet, up there on the surface, no one even knows they exist. Deckard: They're monsters. Silco: There's a monster inside all of us. Deckard: What? No. No, no! It'll kill me! Silco: I'd like to let you in on a very important secret I learned when I was about your age, boy. You see, power, real power doesn't come to those who were born strongest, or fastest, or smartest. No. It comes to those who will do anything to achieve it. It's time to let the monster out.
Tumblr media
1.) It's time for Silco's first sermon, and it's a good one. 2.) Silco is notoriously bad at comparing character's ages (ie telling Marcus' daughter that Vi was her age when Vander died), so we don't really know what story he is referring to. He could still be referring to his drowning or to some childhood story we don't know about. 3.) Differently from the Marcus scene, he has his "good side" turned towards Deckard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4.) I remember reading somebody's reaction that this was their first surprise of Silco as a villain, that he talks Deckard into swallowing the Shimmer. I think it's debatable whether Deckard was just intimidated by Singed and Silco into swallowing it. I think his pov look to Singed nodding could suggest that, however his facial expressions I think can be read as him wanting it/wanting to be brave. 5.) Once again we have Silco as the one marginally more concerned and Singed as the stone-cold indifferent one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6.) We get the appearance of the potential Fishbones fish and learn that Silco likes fish or at least underwater monsters. 7.) Just like in the conversation with Marcus we have Silco talking about people underestimating/not seeing what is "below". 8.) All that talk about everybody is a monster/we all have a monster inside of us is probably foreshadowing for him wanting Vander to let out his monstrous side
Tumblr media
9.) I feel like pointing out how Silco steals Deckard's knife from his belt and plays around with it (we can later see that Silco's preferred weapon is the knife) (he throws the knife to the ground when he begins talking about real power) 10.) Silco has hilarious amounts of swagger going on as he walks around Deckard and gets really close to convince him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
11.) In case that wasn't obvious, these shots show that the underwater lair and the fish factory are connected/are one and the same just different levels.
Tumblr media
12.) Silco's reaction to the monster transformation is very cold (particularly in comparison to his reaction to the rat's transformation in the precious episode). Personally, it doesn't read like super triumphant or happy either.

Stoic is Positive Masculinity
How to Train Your Dragon is such an exceptionally family-centered movie. I can easily go into several characters but for this I want to focus particularly on Stoic the Vast. Stoic is a pure embodiment of positive masculinity and what men, what fathers should want to be. Stoic is this huge, gruff, no-nonsense leader but he is also emotional and compassionate and sensitive and these are core parts of his personality. People still treat these like negative traits in men but How to Train Your Dragon does not. Stoic loves Hiccup, he’s his son and he is protective of him, he doesn’t want to lose him (he already lost Valka). He’s hard on Hiccup in the first movie because he KNOWS Hiccup is like Valka and that scares him, Valka got taken by a dragon and was openly opposed to violence against dragons---so when he finds out that Hiccup is friends with a dragon he’s having to deal with the feelings of losing Valka again and being scared out of his mind that he’s going to lose Hiccup too. In anger he tells Hiccup that he’s not his son but as he walks out and we see his face he has tears in his eyes. And I don’t mean the little misty-eye tears. His eyes are full on wet and he is doing all he can to force them back. He probably went to face the dragon nest thinking Hiccup was going to run off and he would never see him again. Gobber says that Stoic can’t stand “what inside Hiccup” but I don’t think this is true either. It’s not that Stoic “can’t stand it”. It’s that he doesn’t understand it and is scared he’s going to eventually lose Hiccup because of this difference between them. During Stoic and Gobber’s conversation it’s clear that Stoic just wants to have a connection with Hiccup but since Hiccup takes after Valka the chieftain didn’t have the slightest idea what to do. Personally I love that Gobber admits that Stoic is not bothered by Hiccup’s stature one bit, it’s meant to be humorous but its so important because Hiccup in this scene clearly felt like his father didn’t like him partly because of his stature. Stoic is tall, muscular and gruff-voiced so be default society would go: yes, of course he’s embarrassed by his “talking fishbone son”! But he doesn’t think any less of Hiccup for not having those physical traits, he never brings up Hiccup’s stature at all! In the movie’s final fight, after he saves Hiccup and Toothless, he holds Hiccup’s hand and gently tells Hiccup he doesn’t have to fight, sincerely apologizes to Hiccup for his actions and tells him he is proud of him. No yelling, ordering, begging, just gentle words. When he realizes Hiccup is alive he sincerely thanks Toothless and touches Toothless’ face (the first time ever that he touches a dragon and doesn’t hurt it) and although we laugh at it, he glares offended at Gobber when he cracks the “Well most of him” joke. Already we see him accepting Toothless and being defensive of Toothless. In the second movie when he’s reunited with Valka we see his gentleness again, he very gently touches her face and softly tells her he still thinks she’s beautiful. As much as he wants her to come back home he doesn’t immediately assume that she will and he scolds Hiccup when he assumes such. Instead of just assuming that they will immediately become husband and wife again he invites her to do their dance, something clearly emotional and special for them as a couple. It is during this dance, when Valka accepts his invitation to dance that he realizes she truly does still love him and he then asks her to come home and not just to come home, but he proposes again. When Drago is attacking he doesn’t assume command, he defers command to Valka and asks for orders. He acknowledges that his wife knows dragons and Drago better and immediately provides his support to her by asking what she wants done. In the final movie we of course see him only in flashbacks but they prove that Hiccup gets his gooey-softness from both sides of his family. Hiccup in the flashbacks of an infant never shows signs of being scared of Stoic. When he gets caught on the stairs, he looks at Stoic and says why he’s up, worried about getting in trouble, but never scared. Both instances Stoic speaks with that soft voice and he holds Hiccup very gently. When Stoic tells him to come join him at the fire Hiccup immediately runs to Stoic and his father puts him on his lap and lets him poke the fire with him, a clear indication that this is a regular thing for them. When Hiccup asks if they’re going to get another mom, Stoic hugs Hiccup close and kisses him and then tells Hiccup an important truth about love that he doesn’t fully understand until the third movie. Before the flashback ends it is just a close up of Stoic’s face and you can just see how much he loves Hiccup. I feel like these flashbacks brought so much clarity to Stoic as a character and helped me to understand that how we thought we knew Stoic in the first movie wasn’t right at all. Stoic wasn’t a tough guy who had emotional moments, he’s an emotional guy who is only tough when he needs to be.
Movie: How to Train Your Dragon; How to Train Your Dragon 2; How to Train Your Dragon The Hidden World
Director: Dean DeBlois
Characters: Gobber; Stoic; Valka; Hiccup; Toothless; Drago
