Okay, Dual Destinies, you've won me over. For now. I want to see where this Dark Age of Law is going.

This has been building since.... well, since Edgeworth first appeared with that "updated autopsy report", really. But definitely since the Gant scandal. When it's confirmed in court with a confession from the Chief of Police that the prosecutor's office has been regularly fixing trials with forged and doctored evidence, of course there are going to be defense attornys who go "oh that's how we're playing now?" and respond in kind.

With the context from Turnabout Acadamy, it's seems like Phoenix's disbarment might have been just collatoral damage to a much larger systemic crisis brought on by the breakdown in ethical norms within the court system in the wake of Gant's confession.

y'know I think the only valid version of a design for a faceless character (ones that aren't people's OC's, you can do whatever you want) removing their helmet or mask etc. is to have something real fucked up going on in a cool way under there.

like, there's no head, it's grotesque in a monster-y way, or something. I can forgive it so long as it's not just some guy under there tbh

I'd got a few ideas for requests, but how about on pages 227 to 230 (physical book) where Kaelin and Ruyak have their fight near the road to Loske

I've not had the easiest time focusing these days so this is taking WAY too long to draw, but while I was trying to work on it I realized how cool of a thing it was to have the book page actually open on my desk while illustrating the scene and I got all excited lmao

decided to try a new game bc it was free 🎉 can't decide if i love it or not, it's very unstructured which is both great and terrible for me, v pretty, hate that parts of it require multiple players bc i don't want parts that i can't complete without multiple players bc i just wanna play by myself fjewiaof, pretty relaxing though it's mostly just random exploring, if you have played pls share your thoughts ❤️

just remembered a fic on AO3 (or more likely LJ because it had that distinct late 00's experimental vibe) that appeared double-spaced oddly, in that some paragraphs would be spaced normally and others would have double or even triple spaces in between. it was about one half of the otp getting over the other's death (or coma, can't remember which), so all the comments were about how poignant the use of visual spacing was as a means to convey all the emotional holes in the character's life.

and then the author replied like... *giggle* guys it's NOT double spaced. try selecting the whole text

and we were all like "no WAY"

but we selected the text, and yes!!!

the "holes" in the story? they were actually lines and actions from the dead/coma character's ghost, rendered invisible to the eye by the simple trick of coloring the text the exact same as the background, revealed by nothing more than a click and a drag of the mouse

a story about the profound loneliness of losing your the partner of your life and having to make do without them, without anything to fill the holes they'd left behind, suddenly became a story about the profound helplessness of seeing someone you love suffer from your absence while you are right there, unable to do anything about it, unable to communicate that you love them enough to suffer unseen and unheard with them, just to keep them company they'll never know about

it was then that I truly realized how *superior* the digital medium is to plain printed paper, how the medium and the format can add to a story.

I think about that fic about once a year. I wish I could find it again

Jazz and Johnny got...way more involved that Danny will ever want to know.

And Jazz, very liminal, actually fell pregnant.

She opted to leave for a bit, have the baby, and adopt it out. It was half ghost and half very liminal human, she had no idea what the GIW would do to it.

So she left on an "extended study trip", gave birth, gave it over to the adoption agency, warned them there was a high chance the kid would be a meta, and went about recovering.

Unbeknownst to her, that baby was immediately stolen by one Sheila Haywood for the purposes of tax fraud.

From there, the baby was given to Willis Todd, after Sheila lied and said that he was the father.

From there, the baby was put under the care of Catharine Todd, who died far too young.

From there, the kid tried to steal Batman's tires so he wouldn't starve.

Fast forward, and Jason Todd, now an adult, decides to pay a visit to the new head Psychologist of Arkham to vet the lady.

He ends up staring into a set of eyes that mirror his own, and when he runs the DNA from the hair he stole off of her, it comes back positive that yeah.

That's his mom.
