i guess it comes to everyone (incl me) wanting a neat, palatable conclusion and what that looks like varies according to the reader & their preferences.

of course, that doesn’t excuse reader entitlement at all—if you don’t like something, just don’t read it? or show ur frustration in a manner that isn’t construed as criticising the author? i tend to do the latter quite a bit but the formers way easier.
