Okay, but I really like how they wrote Rain’s character. They first introduced this bratty, irrespectful and ‘see no wrong in his doing’ person and uploaded him into a good one, and a really lovely one. And they did it very well. Because it wasn’t like Rain only changed because he wanted to be with Phayu. He didn’t even know that was one of the reasons for changing. He changed because he realized what he was doing wrong, with the help of the people around him. That’s why I also love his relationship with Sky. Sky knew that Rain was wrong and he acted badly, and let him do his things waiting for him to realize how those actions were not working. Instead of saying in episode 2 “Hey, act nicely and be polite”, he agreed to his plan and gave him the answers the Rain thought were going to work just to see him fail. Also, the guy from the mechanic shop also gave him hints on how to win Phayu but they weren’t specific to Phayu; like the standard was so low at that moment and he still delivered. And that’s why I love Rain so much: he didn’t change to fit Phayu’ standards or wants.

Also, I love that Phayu wanted Rain to focus first on him and then focus on their relationship. Like saying “get your priorities straight; this is a relationship, but is not only who we are only, you need to become a good person first so we can be good to each other and enjoy ourselves”. LIKE WTF WHEN, IN DRAMAS, DID ANOTHER CHARACTER ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE RELATIONSHIP WAS NOT THEIR ENTIRE PERSONALITY? absolutely blind blowing. the writer is actually stepping out of the game with these characters. Like, it took two whole seasons and a special episode for Type to change his way of being and actually being a good partner to Tharn.

Lastly, I don’t know why but I also really like that Rain is a “normal” character without an unnecessary dark past that only works for the narrative of them being together. It feels so good to watch normal people fall in love and actually focus on them as a person and their dynamics. Idk, maybe is just me that is sick and tired of the same old dramas and fucked up stories that don’t do anything to the story

Should I watch TharnType?

I have watched Love By Chance 1 & 2 and LITA, and Don't Say No has been on my watchlist for a while. I plan to watch it before Love Sea releases. I technically know the overall story of TharnType (I watched one of those Tharn❤️ Type: Their Story videos back when I was speedrunning all the 'classics' because two seasons plus a movie sounded beyond exhausting), but I watched this clip and am wondering if the entire show is just as good as this little sneak peak.

So, should I watch it?

And also, Earth Cooheart played a traumatized AF character in Love By Chance who seemed to have something going with his elder stepbrother(?)... would be lovely if anyone could comment which character he was playing and whether they have their own book/show yet.

🌸 Drama Talk

I usually don’t watch dramas that are still airing BUT I caved after seeing many gifs floating around. I will admit though, I am a bit of a simp when it comes to seeing my favorite actors in new dramas so one of these dramas was inevitable.

Wedding Plan: I mainly started watching this series because of the PaiSky wedding (and then eventually the RainPayu proposal) but I actually fell in love with the plot line so much. It’s a classic marriage for convenience situation and I am obsessed at well the actor portray this. I won’t deep dive into the drama but I will say that I highly recommend this drama to all drama lovers.

Only Friends: This drama caught my attention mainly due to First and Khao being in it - I had never seen any of their previous dramas but just watching their interactions with each other made me a fan of theirs. While I usually don’t watch dramas that involve a lot of toxicity, I found myself drawn to the plot right away. I just hope the toxicity level doesn’t increase too much or I may have to stop watching.

Be Mine Superstar: The only reason I stared watching this drama is for Ja and First. I fell in love with them during Tharn Type season 2 and just became obsessed with them during Don’t Say No. The chemistry these two have with each other is beyond - like if I didn’t know any better, I would have assumed they were dating in real life. I will say that this drama starts off pretty slow but it’s totally worth it to just keep watching.

I am also debating on starting Hidden Agenda and Dangerous Romance but I haven’t really seen much about either so I’m hesitating lol.

Which BL couple had the best story arc from Season 1 to Season 2?

I legit had to give up on TharnType half-way through season 2. I regret seeing part 2 of 2gether. I refuse to watch the Together With Me sequel. (It's been too long to see that MaxTul storyline again. There's no way it's not problematique.) I barely made it through part 1 of I Told the Sunset About You and SOTUS. And Dark Blue Kiss and Between Us (below) did not stick the landing as spinoff shows.

Gameboys 2 (below) and To My Star 2 (top), however, knocked it out of the fucking park. Give them all the awards.

Fingers crossed the Cherry Magic movie sequel still captures their vibe. I've been anxiously avoiding it. 🙃

Many people here are hoping for KinnPorsche season 2 and it's like half-official it's gonna happen but I have some issues with an originally unplanned season 2.

There is a huge difference between shows that hope for a second season in order to explain the events of the first and the sort of shows that are only meant to contain of one season.

Now, I don't know what kind of show KinnPorsche is, we haven't seen that ending yet, but it gives me the vibe everything will be resolved in the finale or even in the pre-finale episode. The story will come to an end, so a second season is thrilling as a fan but there's so much pressure on the production team, the writing can easily lack the charm it has now.

So far, popular BLs have faced a downfall after a reboot. Examples are "I promised you the moon", "We best love: fighting Mr. 2nd", "TharnType: 7 years of love" and "Still 2gether". Now, think what you want and be a fan of all of them, but I personally think they all have a disappointing second season.

The most common problem is unnecessary drama where the couple has a fight out of jealousy and breaks up (?) without anyone knowing why exactly except for the sake of drama. Jealousy can be strong in certain relationships but you can't tell me Type would still get jealous if Tharn talks to girls after being together for seven years with the knowledge Tharn is an openly gay person (TharnType). Tine was jealous which was also the most ridicolous thing ever because Sarawat was obvioulsy whipped (2gether).

The second problem is the vanished personal growth. The characters act out or certain habits that have been long gone since the pilot episode reappear to cause drama again. Teh learned that change was okay, that it is okay to be different from Oh. He makes his peace with it. But then he pushes Oh away again and acts as the same old asshole he was way back when. He acts like a teenager and not like an adult which is just crappy writing due to the fact how carefully and thoughtful his character's arc was portrayed in season 1 (IPYTM). Shi De left Shu Yi alone for five years even though he learned pulling back and staying in the shadows won't help Shu Yi and expressing his feelings actually means something (We best love).

I know KinnPorsche is not like the shows I named but it's as popular (and even more) as these ones were and it's what usually happens to popular shows, so I don't want a second season for the sake of the show itself.

I hope you see what I mean. It's not that I don't want a second season because this show is great but I do fear that the characters will suffer. It would still look good but storywise it can easily be destroyed and if the story is over, then just let it be over.

VegasPete BREAKING ME DOWN WITH THEN... I can't... How am I going to survive now??

I was getting really mad thinking that Vegas died, I was like "What? Really? Don't do this to me production crew. Please don't...", but, after that post credits scene... I forgive you for everything 🤣🤣🤣

IT WAS SO FREAKING CUTE. OMG... I can't even talk about how much I loved that scene. Macau being cute with his brother, oh my God. And I can't stop thinking about the conversations that Macau and Pete had while Vegas was sleeping. That "That was fast" from Macau, got me thinking they plotted making Vegas act cute AND I LOVED IT 😭😭😭😭

Also, so sad we didn't get a proper ending to KimChay🥺🥺🥺

But... THAT SCENE OF KIM PROTECTING CHAY🥵🥵🥵🥵 AS IF I WASN'T ALREADY IN LOVE WITH JEFF ENOUGH🤣🤣🤣

I have to say Intouch (UWMA) because I love his determination. He says "That boy is gonna be mine" and he gets the boy. I love him for it.

Also Ram (My Engineer) because I loove his personality. I see myself in him a little bit. He only talks to who he wants to and when he wants and I think that's so funny🤣. He also love animals and is afraid of kids just like me so.. 🤣🤣

Biggest disappointment.

Enchanté. The first episode was really cute, but then, I don't know what happened. I loved the whole "Find the Enchanté" thing just to be the own Theo who wrote it because he wanted Akk's attention... And that last episode, what was that? Out of nowhere, after doing all that book scene to get Akk, he's leaving just like that?! And Akk's sister saying those things to him??? That's her way of helping?? Really disappointed.

And I have to mention Cutie Pie. It's not bad, but I guess I waited too much for too long. Since the first announcement that Zee was going to be in a new BL, I was sooo hyped, but when I finally watched it, it didn't get me. Still going to watch it anyway because I love the actors and I loved the other couples, but I got really lazy, unfortunately🥺🥺

What two random bl/gl characters would make hilarious exes?

I have no idea 🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈

My #1 post of 2022

Okay, I just want to put it out what I'm feeling right now after EP13, but I'm going to focus only on PeteVegas because, too much happened in this episode.

First of all, I just need to leave something very clear here: I didn't knew anything about the novel before watching the series so, I was really blind and didn't know what to expect. That being said, let's move on.

I still don't know what I feel when I think about them. I started watching KinnPorsche BECAUSE of VegasPete, I wanted to see them together. Them Pete got captured and I realized the road that they would go.

I'm completely biased by Bible, so I didn't imagine that I would HATE his character. And I did. For a moment. Now I'm... Confused cause at the same time I want to kill him, I want to protect him ("At the same time I wanna hug you, I wanna wrap my hands around your neck - P!nk")

Something I'm really enjoying is to see how everyone interpret their relationship differently, that's amazing. So I want to leave here what I think they have.

I don't think it Love. I don't think it's anything really rational. I think they developed a toxic emotional support that they crave above anything else. I genuinely think they can't live without each other anymore because of this bounding. Vegas gets better because of Pete, but also he can reach his peak of destruction for Pete too. The same for Pete. He has a pure heart even after everything he did and have been through, but he fakes smiles and happiness too much. With Vegas, he can show the evil part of himself without being judged of anything. They are literally like Yin and Yang. They need each other for balance. Pete needs Vegas to be mean, and Vegas needs Pete to be good.

It's not love, it's balance. They both know what they are doing it's wrong, but still want it ("Mama, I'm in love with a criminal and this type of love, it's not rational, it's phisical - Britney")

Also, the scene where Pete was "eating" the ramyeon and breaks down crying, wow. I also saw a lot of people saying different things about it and, one of the things people said was that his friends and people o cares about him are around him but he is still left alone. I don't think the others left him alone just like that. He's visible hurt, both, inside and out, holding tears all the time... I would give him some time too. And, he may have asked to be alone for a while cause, Khul would talk to much, ask too much, and he's not in a good shape for all Khul's presence at that moment, you know?

And when he touches where the handcuffs were, his chest and neck where Vegas touched, I really think he was missing him, but his crying because he don't want to miss Vegas. Crying because because he knows it's wrong and unhealthy, but he's still worried, maybe even not for himself but for what Vegas may do without him. He can't control him if he's not near him. I guess it's obvious now that Vegas don't control Pete, Pete controls him.

And one last thing, yes, they can't kill each other because, like I said, they balance one another. If one of them dies, the other will crumble. If they hurt each other, they hurt themselves. That's why I think Pete couldn't pull the trigger and Vegas couldn't stab Pete.

All of this is just how I feel about them, how I read them myself.

I love seeing the other ways they are being read so, if you want to talk more about them or other couple, even other series, I will gladly talk to you. 🥰🥰

And I need to say, shout out to the whole KinnPorsche's crew cause I'm really impressed by this series 😍😍

This episode 5 analysis was so on point. I always love when people bring up Techno and how he is neutral towards both Type and Tharn.

What you said about Type still having a wound that is healing is so true! Ugh I can’t say enough about how much I enjoy these.

It's quote time! Who's character/s or couple/s do you think relate to this one:

So this has to go with a couple that had or have exes in the same show as them (or have a break up specifically with another person to get together or pretend to get together with)... hmmm! Makes it a bit harder.

I mean it derogatorily when I use for TharnType in season 2 because the idea that Type was cheating with Fiat is still the most insulting thing Tharn has ever assumed ever and boy did he assume a lot of things in that show.

Leo thinks something like this every time he looks at Fiat with another person but much more personal and painful and deeply written into his own wishes and pining.

TaeSung thinks this every single time HaeBom has ever looked at any other person in his entire life.

This happens in Step For You but only in the barest, most basic sense.

This is Kiyoi every single time Hira looks at anyone else or makes a friend who isn't him. Every. Single. Time.

There's definitely a lot of this in Check Out, honestly. Not in a good way. But... it's there.

** Warning, spoilers ahead. **

Any time somebody mentions "[...] seven years" in a relationship context, take a shot and you are guaranteed to be doing a naked pole dance within 15 minutes. OK ma'am, I understand it's now been seven years since the first series, thank you. I don't need it wood-peckered into my damn head every minute, thanks. The first few episodes was just ... WHO THE HELL WROTE THE SCRIPT JFC. It got better in the middle of the series but at the end, it was another spadeful of "[...] seven years" again.

I absolutely cannot stand Fiat. He's annoying as hell and dumb as fuck. Like boy, you got a rich kid eating out of your hands but you're whinging that nobody loves you. Please, get the fuck out of my boat right now. And trying to go after Type even though everybody is telling you he's got a man for the last SEVEN YEARS, despicable. And when it does blow up in his face, we cry to our best friend about how nobody wants him or whatever stupid problems he has. God, he irritates the FUCK out of me.

Honestly, I loved that the second season prolonged my fantasy about Tharn and Type but it's really not as satisfying as the first season. I actually loved the last episode more than I did the rest of the episodes as it was much calmer with no nonsense about "seven years" or Fiat-crap (sorry babe).

I also do love the scenes with Type's parents. The father's acceptance of Tharn after bringing in Thanya to curry favor ... love the whole domesticity of it all.

Before I forget, I absolutely adore Khunpol. At the start, I was a bit worried that he may be another annoying side character but his growth and confidence dealing with the inept Champ ... /chef's kiss. He's a cute baby and I will wrap him in my blanket to protect him forever.

Oof this is so hard. I guess I'm gonna say Manner of Death tho. It kind of broke all my previous favorites because I adored it so much. So unique and interesting. Plus Max & Tul are just next level. I know maybe I'm just obsessed...

But honestly as an adult just seeing adults living their normal lives and having a healthy relationship (for the most part...) is just refreshing to see. And it's so unapologetic too! As much as I feel coming out/coming to terms with sexuality stories are important I appreciated that Tan & Bun were just gay men who found each other.

2. that one bl that scarred you for life

nothing i've watched has really been "scarring" most of that is reserved for western queer movies/shows that pull bury your gays out of nowhere. (looking at u monster pies.)

3. is there any bl that made you feel very single?

I've been with my boyfriend for fifteen years so no 🥰

4. if you could change one thing from a bl, which one would it be?

The most egregious thing about Water Boyy, imo, which was erasing the fact that Pan was a lesbian.

Seconding Th*rnType... gross gross gross. Type's character is just so vile to watch. Tharn is worse! Way too much Sexual Assault that's seen as romantic. Character assassination to the best actor in the series (Kaownah) .

Also Fish Upon the Sky. Aesthetically great pairing but legit Mork was the most insufferable.
