🎂 — What’s their favourite kind of cake or other birthday treat?

Finral’s favourite flavor of birthday cake is chocolate, especially if it has a strawberry or raspberry filling (loving berries runs in the family after all 😁). He thinks that Charmy makes the best cake without question, but there’s a certain bakery in Tota that he is particularly fond of as well. If he ordered a birthday cake from them, he would also be sure to add a couple cherry tarts to the order for Langris since that’s his brother’s favourite bakery in the Clover Kingdom. (Only Finral would go out of his way to get other people treats on his own birthday! 💚)

🔥 — What would they wish for when they blow out their birthday candles?

For many years, Finral’s birthday wish is to reconcile with Langris and have the opportunity to rebuild their sibling relationship.💚💙 In the future (when I like to hope they sort things out and get along with each other), he wishes for lots of other things: confidence, love, happiness for his family, more sleep… In the Future Problems Universe, he probably wishes that his son Kalon doesn’t completely destroy the fabric of space-time by accident with his time travel misadventures-- except for, of course, for the one year, he wishes for a baby (it works btw 😁)

🎂 — What’s their favourite kind of cake or other birthday treat?

Altan isn't particularly picky and would likely be happy with any cake or dessert, but black forest cake is his favourite with that rich chocolate, whipped cream and cherries. He inherited that love of cherries from his dad, of course, and Langris always orders a black forest cake for his son every year from Charmy’s restaurant. Altan's auntie will sometimes surprise him by bringing him a slice at random times throughout the year if they have a lot of leftovers, and once he and his cousin Narah tried to bake one for themselves (it didn't turn out though. They should have asked Rye or Charmy for help 😅). In any case, it's definitely a special treat he looks forward to on his birthday each year.

🔥 — What would they wish for when they blow out their birthday candles?

When Altan is very little he wishes for a younger sibling for a few birthdays in a row. After his little sister is born, he wishes for more books or for the chance to get to see his cousins more often. When he’s in his teens, he starts to wish that his Papa will retire and that his Uncle Finral will get more sleep and that they’ll both take better care of themselves.

Your art style is like.

Very rounded/you don’t have a lot of flat shapes, and also you use a lot of stripes and spots everywhere, but I think most people do so I don’t know if that counts.

Mostly the first part. Like round but not necessarily soft, though people often put them together I don’t think you usually do. Honestly most of you art looks like I’d reach out and feel leather or scales.

Sorry if this makes no sense but I saw the post about describing art styles and drawing without them and figured I’d give describing it a y ry

Here it is! Hailstorm and Pyrite for the evil style challenge. The total opposite of round and sharp! It's spiky and soft! Also since you made your piece with lineart I decided to draw mine completely lineless.

I thought that maybe doing with a soft shading would minimize the defined textures of scales on dragons? It kind of worked? Also instead of stripes and dots I gave them triangles

#This was difficult for me #Right before this I drew a character that was the definition of my style #a literal snake-wyrm that was very round and did loop de loops with their body #so I had to rewire my brain in real time to draw this #also I never played monster hunter but isn't this like close to the icons they do for the beasts? Charmy Pappitson Red & Yellow Roses [Romance & Friendship Headcanons]

As part of my Rose Garden Headcanons (Valentine's Day) Event 🌹, here is a bouquet of Yellow Roses (Friendship Headcanons) 💛 & Red Roses (Romance Headcanons)❤️ for Charmy below the cut! 🥰 Thank you so much for the ask and for reading!

Y1. What do they consider the most important quality in a friend? What qualities do they bring to a friendship?

Charmy really values supportive friends who she can spend hours with (without feeling like any time has passed at all) and who she can really have fun with. She values those kinds of relationships where you just "click" with another person and being with them is easy, enjoyable, and comfortable. She also appreciates her friends' quirks and their dedication to being themselves. Knowing that her friends will have her back no matter what and will always cheer her up if she's feeling a bit down really means the world to Charmy; however, she probably wouldn't get so deep or philosophical if asked what she loves most about her friendships. Instead, she would probably talk about how much she treasures those more mundane, sillier moments that she gets to share with her friends just laughing and joking around and/or doing fun activities together.

Despite how it may appear at times, Charmy is a dedicated and supportive friend. She may choose to show her support by cooking for her friends rather than being a shoulder for them to cry on (she's much more comfortable with food than feelings, after all), but at root, she cares deeply about her friends and wants to take care of them and make them happy. She can be a little "hands off" when it comes to her friendships, preferring to allow her friends to make their own choices without her input or opinion; however, if asked for her opinion, help, or advice, she'll always try her best to give it, maybe even with a bit of snark or tough love if she feels her friend needs it. [A/N: There's a song called "Eat That Up, It's Good For You" by Two Door Cinema Club (YouTube) that has always reminded me of Charmy friendships (and that more snarky, "tough love" edge she can have at times), especially her friendship with Finral that I've always felt is criminally underrated]. Charmy is happiest when she gets to do something nice for her friends like cooking their favourite meals, and she loves having the opportunity to spend fun and happy times laughing and smiling together with the people she cares for the most. 💛

R2. How would they tell you they loved you? (For instance, would they use words--planned out in a speech or accidentally blurted out? Or would they prefer to show you they loved you through their actions?)

Charmy prefers to show her love through her actions, usually through making her beloved's favourite foods. However, she wouldn't struggle to express her love with her words, especially in the event that she had built a solid relationship with her significant other. She isn't the type who would say "I love you" all the time, but she says it a fair amount and always means it. She wouldn't plan out when/how she would say "I love you" for the first time, but she would definitely wait until she was ready to say it and would not accidentally and unintentionally blurt it out before then.

R3. What do they look for in a romantic relationship? What would make them feel the most loved and supported by a significant other?

Charmy has always known that she is an original and definitely a little different and eccentric, so she is really looking for a significant other who loves and accepts her with all of her quirks (and most specifically someone who won't mind all of her cooking and eating😊). Charmy's ideal relationship would likely involve her beloved not only tolerating but also supporting and encouraging her interests and hobbies. Her beloved's encouragement and love of her passion for her interests would really mean a lot to her, and nothing would make her happier than getting to share the things she loves with her beloved (i.e. cooking together).

Charmy feels very loved and supported through her beloved's quality time and acts of service. Her beloved carving out time for them to spend together, especially to do activities they enjoy, is always very special to Charmy as are the small but thoughtful everyday things her beloved does for her like picking up extra spices if they run out or offering to do the dishes after meals. Charmy also loves presents--especially specialty foods she wouldn't normally get for herself, so her beloved surprising her with her favourite foods or a special food treat would likely mean a lot to her as well. One of the ultimate expressions of love for Charmy would be her beloved knowing her favourite food (or foods) and surprising her by picking them up for her. As Charmy loves pretty much all foods, being able to identify her all-time favourite food would be a pretty incredible sign of how well her beloved knows and loves her. 💖

R4. How would they react to being in love? Would they want to keep it a secret--would they even be able to? Would they be awkward about it or take it all in stride?

Charmy can definitely get a bit carried away when it comes to love-- especially, the more emotional side of attraction and infatuation. She can be a little bit shy and a bit awkward about her feelings sometimes, but her desire to shower her beloved in specially-made meals and baked goods can be a little bit difficult to hide even if she wants to keep her affection a secret. Even if she made an effort to try to hide her feelings, her closest friends will definitely know when she is in love, and Charmy is usually self-aware enough to realise and understand her own attraction too. How she chose to deal with the fact she was in love would really depend on the situation. If her beloved is someone she doesn't know all that well, there might be a little more awkwardness there, but ultimately, she will be pretty determined to get to know her beloved which will help her (eventually) overcome any shyness. Overall, I think Charmy is a bit bold when it comes to love. She isn't afraid to show that she cares and isn't afraid to put herself out there and express her interest if/when it comes to it. If Charmy loves you, you will (probably) know about it eventually, unless of course you're just that dense... 😉

R5. What is a love song that really suits them and why?

I feel a bit like I'm recycling this because I've posted about "A Chef's Love Song" by The Spoiled Chefs and Charmy before, but it really is just the definitive and perfect "Charmy love song" in my opinion so I couldn't even begin to choose a different one. I mean, lines like "I think you're so sweet, now I want you to eat" and "You'd never be hungry, as long as you're mine" just scream Charmy to me. I think it also hints at something that I imagine is a big part of Charmy's attitude in any relationship whether romantic or platonic: her main love language (in a way) and the easiest way for her to express how much she cares is through her cooking (i.e. "I'm a chef and so my feelings/ Are expressed through my cooking/ So I hope you can tell by the taste of the food/ That I think that you're really good-looking!"). Yes, it's a bit of a sillier song (especially when the singer starts listing all the food they are making their beloved), but it's cute and makes me smile and I think Charmy would appreciate it. 🥰
