Coffee, tea or hot chocolate: herbal tea only (learned the hard way in her teens that caffeine or other stimulants activate her chaotic magic)

Avg hours of sleep: around maybe six hours or so? she basically astral projects into another plane bc she is dead to anyone trying to wake her in those six hours on faerun. like a floppy sleeby ferret

Dogs or cats: cats (she yearns to pet grub from afar; tara, while very MUCH NOT A CAT, warms up to her only after the epilogue party), but honestly she loves cows the most, thus why "Stephanie" dropped out of the sky when she was a child.

OH AND OWLBEAR AND SCRATCH ARE HONORABLE COW/CAT RESPECTIVELY

Dream trip: amn, city of coin and a natural desire for a guild artisan to want to explore. HOWEVER... maybe not so great for a wild magic sorcerer given the whole cowled wizards thing. (and we ALL SAW how gale handled the magic restrictions that boy would be in bad mage jail immediately)

Number of blankets: on the road? too little. at home? too many.

Random fact: dahlia was an apprentice of derryth and baelen in her adolescence, as they were interested in her magical talents and taught her all she knows about the apothecary trade. they hadn't started trading in noblestalk until after she was no longer working at the shop so she was fully aware of what baelen was really like, and, naturally, disliked him for it. sooooo... gosh, how terrible that those bibberbangs got him in the end...🤫(fr tho, in my "canon" she absolutely fuckin accidentally murked him with the bibberbangs by tossing his pack too far and whack spew boom... there they both went so happy ending to derryth).

Tag game: Eight shows to get to know me!

I was tagged by the lovely @smoothshine, thank you friend ❤️

1. The adventures of Hercule Poirot (Agatha Christie)

This is my favourite show of all time. I don’t even know how many times I’ve watched every episode and this is thirteen seasons long. Agatha Christie is a literary giant and this is arguably one of the best page-to-screen adaptations of all time, for good reason. David Suchet portrays Poirot brilliantly, his friend group is to die for and one episode is enough to scratch that i want a cozy murder mystery where everything works out in the end itch.

2. Sherlock BBC

This show is part of my personality, really, and what originally got me into fandom. Apart from being an incredibly well crafted adaptation, this was also the first time I actually saw a queer couple live together. And no, I don’t take criticism on the fact of their being a queer couple. When I was a baby lesbian Sherlock and Irene Adler where my icons and it was so nice logging on tumblr and seeing people showing love to something gay. Up till then I didn’t think it was possible

3. She-Ra

This show altered my brain chemistry. An actual lesbian couple being the core of an amazing tv series? My heart was blown to bits and reconstructed. I watched this, again, as a baby gay, and it was very affirming and gentle to my heart

4. The end of the f***ing world

I cannot stress how much I love this show. Season 2 especially is such a respectful and kind approach on how traumatic experiences shape our perception of the the world and how much we need people who love and understand us as we learn to navigate it again.

5. Merlin

The first few seasons of this live in my heart rent free, I adore Merlin so much. I want to hug every character. And officiate Merlin and Arthur’s wedding.

6. Feel Good

I can’t say how many times I’ve watched this show but it certainly isn’t a healthy amount. It’s funny, it’s tender and it’s a story about two young queer people learning to accept themselves and love each other. What’s not to love?

7. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

I’m sorry, I know this show has a brilliant story about two brothers in it but Roy and Riza are the protagonists for me, I just *screams*

8. Criminal: UK

This show is what opened my eyes to what an amazing craft directing is. Everything happens in an interrogation booth but the acting and directing is so good you don’t get bored for a single minute and the cases are excellent as well.

you leave people feeling challenged (affectionate)

a shiver. a breath of cool winter air, a stick n poke tattoo; the last few switchbacks at the end of a hike. a deep red. a proud sweat, a delicious ache. early dawn's blue hour. a favorite story you love to retell. the excited scream, the staggering leap into water below. not fearless, but not afraid to let a good memory leave a few scars or stains.

While you have moments of being rough around the edges- an acquired taste, a book not fully grasped in the first read-through-you can rest knowing that there will be people that rise to your challenge. You give off a sense of knowing yourself, and while that could be the case, you're still learning, too.

The close people in your life aren't afraid of your seasons, your come-and-go silence, or your own way of showing love. they're there to stay. they'll join you on that blue hour dock just to read. they'll take that last-minute road trip to the desert. you're here to say, "I know you could do it."

last movie: chef (2014) and it was okay but also nothing special

last show: Extraordinary Attorney Woo and for whatever reason Netflix doesn't let me to watch some of the newest episodes that were already released

when did i create this blog: 2011 I think, but also I had to remake it in 2014 bc I accidentally deleted the whole account instead of just a vintage aes sideblog 🙃

what i post: whatever I like but also I'd say cql/mdzs + a bit of other media that I like and the rest is just memes and gay stuff

last thing i googled: 'charlotte warsaw' because I stopped by there for breakfast with my friend and I wanted to show someone else a pic of the interior

do i get asks: not as often as I used to a few years back but yeh sometimes someone stops by

top 3 fictional universes i’d like to live in: uhhh middle earth but in one if the elven cities, then mdzs/cql but probably gusu/cloud recesses bc it's super pretty and the climate seems perfect, then for the last one I really have no idea

@smoothshine thank you for tagging me in the tropes and genres tier ranking thing!

So these are mine:

I think there is something so tender that comes out of people when they write about characters being vulnerable in a context where they’re writing for themselves, mostly, and then for people who already have an understanding of the characters and just focus on the feelings. Some of the best things I’ve read in terms of character expression have been through hurt/comfort works and so it’s the first thing on my top tier. I also really love seeing people explore the small moments that didn’t make the cut of canon and how they put the characters through the navigation of intimacy. And, of course, everything has to have a happy ending for me! I really, really need it.

I do like fluff and lighter reads but they’re not the first things I’ll gravitate towards. I prefer fluff, as in very light and fun moments, as side plots to relieve the tension for the main story.

Another thing that I think is pretty obvious is that I’m not a big fan of AUs, unless they’re in a modern setting, in which case I find it entertaining to see what real-life jobs and hobbies people come up with for fantasy characters.

You really did subvert my initial expectations with the really-not-all-that-horny vampire and the totally sensible weed Dad figure and Mr. Gale "I'm totally into the fact you haven't taken in a bath in 2 weeks and I read a book about about being turned on by deadly danger and let's have astral projection 4-way sex with only 2 people in outer space and you look good jogging around the city in strappy bondage gear" Dekarios.
