I am SO, SO sorry that it’s taken me literal months to answer this. There are a million and one different directions to take it and, anytime I tried to write something, it didn't feel right. I finally settled on something angsty between Shawn Michaels and a male reader. 

Below is a little drabble/blurb for it. 

Shawn Michaels X Male Reader WARNING - Angst. Cheating/Mentions of Past Cheating. Hurt/Comfort without the comfort. This is just sad. (The Human was in their feelings)

Shawn shouldn’t be here.

If he was a smarter man then he’d be celebrating in a bar somewhere with Hunter and enjoying the spoils of being champion again. Drowning himself in Champagne and debauchery until the early morning hours. Except, Shawn wasn’t a smart man, especially when it came to his relationship with you. Something in his mind switched off, leading to decisions that no rational person could possibly explain. Like being photographed with a stranger’s tongue in his mouth. 

“What do you want, Shawn?” 

You hadn’t been overtly surprised by Shawn turning up at your hotel room, clutching a bouquet of flowers and prepared with an apology. This wasn’t the first time that he had ‘slipped up’ and you highly doubted that it would be the last. A small voice in the back of your head had pleaded for you to slam the door in his face, but you couldn’t do it. Instead, you allowed Shawn inside with a heavy sigh. You were tired of having to gather up the pieces of your heart after seeing photographs of your boyfriend in the arms of another on the cover of every tabloid. It was making you question whether your entire relationship was a good choice or not. 

“I came to say that I’m sorry for…” 

Shawn’s voice trailed off as he watched fresh tears fall on your cheeks before you scrubbed them away. Perched on the foot of the bed, you seemed different than normal. Smaller. Your shoulders curled inwards with your head hanging low and hands hidden by the long sleeves of your shirt. This wasn’t right. You radiated warmth and happiness on the cloudiest of days, but the only thing Shawn could feel when he looked at you was sadness. A bone-deep sadness that he had caused. Again. 

Tentatively, Shawn crept forward to kneel at your feet and, after a moment, he lifted his hands to cradle your face. His thumbs brushed the tears from beneath your eyes, but the softness of the gesture tightened around your throat and made it hard to breathe. It was too sweet. You were supposed to be mad at Shawn. Nobody would blame you if you held onto that anger and refused to grant him forgiveness. 

“I’m so sorry, Sweetheart. Please believe me…”

Trein: said 'damn' once when he was sixteen, still lays awake at night in embarrassment about his deplorable lapse in manners.

Vargas: swears like an old-timey carnival strongman. lots of "poppycock" and "what the devil" and an occasional "deuces!" (this makes classes very confusing for poor Deuce)

Crowley: doesn't intentionally swear, but every once in a while he'll, like...put together a presentation on the new staff policies or something that builds up to an acronym which, by complete coincidence, spells out something shockingly depraved.

it happens often enough that you'd think he's doing it on purpose, except. it's Crowley.

Sam: swears in the text, gets away with it because the character reading is always something else

(this is very specific to the Japanese version and probably too meta but I made myself laugh with it, I...I'm sorry)
