HI OK I HAD A MOMENT TO THINK ABOUT IT, THIS IS ABOUT YOUR TEN 17776 POST.

i was talking to my bf about it. and he broguht up that ten is 'rude' at points. and that made me think.

people perceive ten's bluntness as her being like. mean or snarky? even though juice's entire intoduction is him insulting nine

like. juice is meaner than ten, ten is just serious.

i think in part because ten is female aligned, people view her bluntness as much *harsher* than it actually is - and since we live in a male focused world, a woman being rude is her worst sin. does that make sense

god forbid a woman does fuckin' anything, man

for a good chapter or so, i also perceived juice to be rude Because of his introduction, but ten being rude has never been a defining trait of hers to me. definitely blunt and stubborn, yes, but not rude. i partially wonder if how ten writes changes the way she's perceived, properly compared to juice's lax style of speaking ("Juice can do it because he’s European. You and I are NASA, born and bred. We have standards." 20020, Chap 4), and with it making her casual speak stick out like a sore thumb ("… listen, Nine, are you going to keep doing this? Is cross-talk just your … deal? Want to shut up for even a second?" 17776, Chap 1) - but yeah can't forget that, because she is female-aligned, people will probably, unintentionally or not, read her ruder than she is or have it stick to them more that she is rude. that isn't to say she's not not rude - she has her fair share of "Shut up"s ("Shut up. Shut. Up." 17776, Chap 1. "Shut the fuck up." 17776, Chap 13) - but god forbid women be abrasive

the line i brought up in that original post ("He’s the fun one, and by default, I’m the boring one." 20020, Chap 7) makes me nuts. juice is the fun one so BY DEFAULT ten is the boring one, and she knows this. it's so aligned with how people treat her, coupled onto the fact that she is indeed the "girl satellite". and it drives me nuts when people further the wedge on how different juice and ten is because juice is intensely goofy (an example being putting a period before juice dialogue but not for ten, when all have periods before their dialogue in videos - it's just a formatting thing!). especially when nine is the middle ground, and is more open to juice's shenanigans, it emphasises the stricter, more serious light on ten, which might be emphasised further by fans because, by default, she is the boring one

and it's not like ten doesn't have any whimsy herself. she does speeches and has calls with human friends and watches the sun rise, even if it is just a speck, and is great at handling the camera and changes the direction of her text to go up and makes mistakes that kills billions of people and "Yes you do, buddy." and she loved that light bulb and loves people and earth and loves her sibling, who is both older and younger than she is, and loves juice, despite it all. she loves her friends, and she loves football

even in real life, do you know how interesting pioneer 10 is? the first outer planetary mission? to jupiter, no less! there are Real Life Monetary Coins made of her, man - someone get me a 2009 $1 Australian gold coin with a space probe Pioneer 10/11-type on the back please!

i dunno, this is all just ramblings. don't take this as me hating juice, i love that guy. but i also love ten. more people should like ten #women #girl

What is in the water this week?? work’s got me like this

#not dogs #I’m also stressing about mushing season coming up in a few months #bc it looks like the trail won’t be open at this point #or I’m not sure what the state plans with it #like ideally I’d like them to close off endangered areas but open up sections that are okay #I’m worried I won’t be able to get my ten miles as an out and back #and I’ll have to do it in loops on our road which is #uh. sucks #also if I don’t have this trail my sledding areas that don’t allow off leash dogs are very limited #going to have to ask some other mushers for ideas #I’m just. stressed about it which ain’t fun bc this is my activity away from stress!!!

I’m probably less afraid of venomous snakes than I should be. I mean, they’re dangerous, of course, but the best way to avoid being bitten is to just give them a wide berth. It won’t always work, because they’re hard to see, and a person will sometimes, tragically, not see a snake until they’re stepping on it. But they’re not malicious. There are aggressive snakes out there, but they’re fairly rare, and it’s not as though they go out looking to bite humans, because we’re too big for most snakes, let alone venomous snakes, to eat. When, for example, rattlesnakes snakes bite, they bite because they’re threatened, surprised, or scared. They’re just trying to defend themselves from something much bigger than they are, and which they perceive as a threat. Rattlesnakes even warn you to get away before they bite you most of the time! They’re so polite! Like, sorry I disturbed you, little guy—let me back up and move out of your way. No reason to panic.

I am, however, terrified of water snakes. Like. Oh? Is that a sea snake? Cool, cool, cool, it’s not even going to have to bite me because I’m going to give myself the benz by panicking and pulling the wrong tab on my scuba vest so I shoot up to the surface like a cork. Ditto for water moccasins (though let’s be real, if I find myself in the water with a water moccasin I’m probably also bumping into an alligator).

#so there was this one time #I had to almost tackle a ten year old #his class was there volunteering at the state park I worked at at the time #we ran into a rattlesnake #and so I did the thing I always did #and held up my arms to stop the kids #and told them to back up and moved them all of the trail #until the snake calmed down and slithered away #but there was this one kid #who reeeaaaaallllly wanted to pet the snake

The Metal You Missed in 2022

It’s that time of year again. Everyone’s got their own “Best of 2022” list, and by now you can probably guess the bands in the top spots before you even click the links. Don’t get me wrong— I, too, am foaming at the mouth to sing Messa’s praises. But there was a lot of good shit that flew under the radar as well.

Here are 5 doom, drone, and psych releases (in no particular order) that deserved more attention in 2022.

Weightless by Grief Circle

Suggested track: Hollow

Polish doom and post-metal outfit Grief Circle dropped this boulder back in October. The album features a heady mix of clean and growled singing that seems to embody the frustrations and impossible choices of the past two years. Amid a flurry of tempo changes, the band manages to get vicious metal and haunting misery to hold hands and play nice. If you’re looking for something heavy as fuck to ring in a new year, this is it.

Chem-Trails LIVE by Apex Ten

Suggested track: Tentacles

Attention stoners: are you ready to embark on a sightseeing tour of the cosmos? Masters of psychedelic improv, Apex Ten, have the countdown running and the engines billowing steam. Their unique sound conjures images of the sea, the prickle of salt air on your skin, and the lo-fi buzz of a dusty old radio. Don’t let that fool you... this album is no day at the beach. Despite all of the delicate layering, this album is umbral and staggeringly bleak. Let the non-melody guide you through the liminal space halfway between a dream and a tortured memory. Easily one of my favorite albums of 2022.

The y6 punching kiryu to death scene was indescribable , absolute masterpiece

#Yakuza loveblog #the way his eyes rolled as he attempted to stand up HHBREEEGH #//hacks up a hairball #top ten yakuza scenes in no particular order but number one is majima with his freshly gored eyehole screaming in a cracked voice #i should make a compilation of all these actually #another is y5 majima getting dragged to the roof absolutely covered in chains clearly having been tortured a lil #i talk about this all the time but kiryu absolutely getting irreversible nerve damage in his frostbitten fingers in y5 #the trail of dripping blood in the snow between his clumsy stumbling footprints like man.#tha y6 torture scene was the most well rendered of all of these though its not like i want kiryu to die but he’d be so hot if he died #im trying to think of other good scenes ... oh god the yk1 kiryu lao ka long torture flashback where he was dangling from the ceiling
