Tsumu thoughts on my mind lately
Anyway, this opening line...
Tumblr media
This is the origin of everyone’s flower attribution in a3! you can’t change my mind...Tsumu names the flowers after each member of Mankai but keeps it a secret :3
Not sure if anyone’s said this but I really cannot get this off my mind currently

Ahem
So everyone knows about Sakyo likes to pop bubble wrap
But like ripping up paper has a similar feeling
So I bet Sakyo would love ripping up paper
Also the likes of Hisohiso, Chikage, Tsuzuru and some others also feel the same (for varied reasons, like how Hisohiso is highkey a cat-)

I keep thinking about this now...but gekkagumi really have extreme sleeping patterns: Hisoka sleeps too much, while August and Chikage sleep too little.
Fun fact - being sleep deprived makes you more alert
Thus a headcanon (?) was born~
The Organisation wants their members to be on their highest levels of awareness, so what better way to make sure they all are sleep deprived by training them as they are recruited to sleep less. But the Org didn’t expect their agents to end up with extremes, but now that those have been developed, ‘its not my problem’ is at play. Add in the fact of possible PTSD, and that pretty much sums up the whole issue.
Also, Hisoka is just a huge anomaly in their data, so the Org used to keep an eye on his conditions due to this.
Either way...Hisoka was very aware of his brothers’ habits, so if one of them is in desperate need of a nap, Hisohiso would come and nap with them. I just think he’d do this, but not say anything about it. None of them ever spoke about it, an unspoken rule, but all were grateful for those moments.

Tsuzuru during exam season (headcanons):
Collapsing a lot
So many coffee refills its still a wonder how his blood hasn’t turned to coffee
No rest either due to stress or anxiety
Is tense until he finally gets his grades
And once he does and they’re a LOT higher than expected there’s a sense of ‘is this real!?’
^ Once the fact is finally registered, lots of plays are written and other things are caught up on
Just one big ball of energy (”its cute” - Citron, “...You mean its scary” - Itaru)
Once this wares off he collapses for a nice long rest

Fruits Basket (2019) ended last season, so time to point out how our A3! cast are coping with the end, and what their connections are to the shoujo anime
Fruits Basket is another anime the whole troupe watches
^ Muku is the one who brought everyone together to watch it
Pre-Mankai, everyone had seen some of it (some had seen it all)
Everyone has related to at least one character
The Original (2001) has been played numerous times in the dorm
^ Often used to lighten the mood a little
The OP/EDs are quite popular at Mankai
On days episodes would release, a tissue box would be bought
‘Ooh, I hope we can do a stage adaptation of Fruits Basket, it would be a dream come true’ - Muku during one evening of Fruits Basket watching
Street Acts focusing on the series on days when it airs
The Shoujo Manga Appreciation Club has only read the whole manga, including the spin-offs
^ Now that the adaptation has ended, there will be sub-troupe meetings to read it all
As Fruits Basket: the Final has finished, everyone misses the shoujo...
The next part will be out next week starting with fuyugumi, but welcome to my new series of headcanons ^^

Chikage “Charlatan” Utsuki
He is someone where people cannot figure out if he’s lying or not
But has anyone stopped to think why he’s so good at it? Why he started the habit? When did it start?
So yeah I came up with a possible solution
TW for emotional/child abuse
It is implied that Chikage had a bad relationship with his mother in Awakening Moon. Single parent huh? What if the other parent was a liar? So his mother continuously treated Chikage as a ‘liar’, causing it to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. So that’s where the lying started, so Chikage could get a breather from his emotionally abusive mother. Its not immoral for him...Its a means of survival!
Then it was amplified. At the Org. To protect his family (August and Hisoka), Chikage would have to lie in order to make sure they don’t get hurt. He had to lie and make it believable. He’s already had practice, so his lying skills become even sharper when he’s in the Org. And since he has to hide the real Chikage in the Org when on missions, it becomes a habit, which is ingrained into his daily life. Once again, a means of survival!
So when he joins Mankai, he’s had YEARS of experience, its a no-brainer that he’s a top tier liar. Its not a means of survival anymore, but it is very hard to stop lying and covering everything he says with deceit. Its like a fun game of sorts now, as he keeps up his wall but also remains close in a sense.
Oh, and since he’s fulfilled the prophecy, there must be some kind of internal conflict caused by his mother’s words. Wouldn’t he be in pain now that he knows he’s like that ‘awful parent who left him...left them’, causing Chikage to close himself off even more.
---
I don’t know what I’m writing anymore...but here you go, a possible reason why Chikage lies/possible Chikage backstory (liber when?!)
I don’t know if there’s more...but its 2.30 and I think I should get some sleep ^^;;

While I was revising for my language test, I kept thinking about how the gekka trio would learn languages for missions, so here are some of my headcanons
April/Chikage
fastest learner
enjoys learning languages the most
often ends up speaking in a random language when at the base (multilingual issues)
August changes language when he does this, but when Hisoka wakes up he just calls them out (”Stop speaking in _____, you’re confusing me...zzz”)
likes calling Hisoka out when he’s not practicing for the next mission
likes going to take-aways/restaurants and using his language skills to get the spiciest menu item possible, just for revision (or showing off)
enjoys challenging himself to learn more
who knows how many this man is fluent in (10? 20? Its a mystery)
likes calling Hisoka names in various languages just to annoy him (as Hisoka doesn’t know the meaning of them lol)
often sounds like someone who’s actually brought up in the country in which the mission takes place
August/Misha
former fastest learner (was beat by Chikage)
often has to sit with Hisoka just so to motivate him
best at Latin due to his field in science
codenames are decided him (he just loves naming his two little brothers)
no one complains as they are the best names
when codenames aren’t in place anymore after a mission is over, August still likes to use them
August still knows the most languages, but Chikage is slowly catching up
when he finds a word he likes, he’ll write it down so he can use later
may or may not use them to name his projects
gets Hisoka and Chikage together just before a mission for a mini quiz
sometimes stays up late making revision resources for Hisoka to learn
tried to understand how Hisoka can communicate with animals
doesn’t get many results though (Chikage insists Hisoka is a Disney princess)
December/Hisoka
is never motivated to learn a language
but gets there eventually if there’s enough marshmallows for a reward
learns the least amount (he doesn’t see why there’s any reason to learn a language in the first place)
Hisoka speaks only a little when on missions in foreign countries, so his point is valid
dislikes learning languages with harder letter articulation
learns the language last minute before a mission (which August scolds him about a little)
will learn the bare minimum and will get away with it
^ almost jeopardized a mission once due to this
if a mission doesn’t specify that he has to communicate, he will not learn a single word
will only speak in animal language

Y’know how there aren’t many shoujo manga being adapted into anime currently right?
Well imagine how would Muku feel (literally all my headcanons-):
Distraught that they aren’t many animations of them being made
Happy that they’re being made into dramas
^ Tenma might have a chance to be one of the leads
Curious about certain shounen anime and checks them out (Jibaku Shounen Hanako-Kun/Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso/Your Lie in April, Tsurezure Children to name a few)
^ Ends up loving some of them
Nostalgic since there are so many reboots being made currently (Fruits Basket, Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew)
Just torn overall
Juza and Kumon, sometimes Yuki, get dragged into his negative spiral due to the lack of the sub-genre in production
There’s been a lot of forum discussions about the ‘death of shoujo anime’...Of course, after thinking about how there are hardly any shoujos in the seasonal line-ups, I thought about poor Muku who would be very torn on the topic

So, remember when I said that gekkagumi reminds me of Macbeth?
Well here’s my explanation (literally my essay plan simplified):
Chikage’s anger towards Hisoka wasn’t that strong the night it all went down
^ It was mostly towards the Organisation for sending them on that mission
But the Org found out and pressured him
Still Chikage didn’t want to act on it so the Org brainwashed him into thinking that Hisoka betrayed him
Not to mention, he already had internal rage as the Org encourages their members to do so
So technically Awakening Moon happened due to the Org being a huge catalyst for Chikage’s actions of vengeance
This is very similar in Macbeth as:
Macbeth originally didn’t want to kill Duncan to become king
Lady Macbeth shamed Macbeth into committing treason as he’s ‘not masculine enough’
His society believed that males should act in a certain way (moulded by society)
The witches were catalysts for the whole occurrence (if it wasn’t for them Macbeth wouldn’t be a play)
I arrest my case...? (I feel like I haven’t explained it enough-)

Homare and Azuma’s museum date has an extra
Happy Birthday @icharchivist ^^
---
"Yes Ma'am, they're both in sight"
In Veludo's museum, there's a limited edition exhibition of Taisho Era art pieces, fairly beautiful ones. An acquaintance of Azuma had tickets which were handed over to the long haired vampire. However, most of winter troupe were busy, with only the resident poet available, thus our current situation of Homare and Azuma's date at the building full of ancient relics.
They station themselves before a portrait of a lonely woman. Lively chatter of the type of paint and timescale needed to produce a work like this envelops the area, brightening the cold room. However, large ruby orbs glisten, flicking from their initial focal point, yet still mesmerised by beauty.
Another piece, in this instance, a pot, which sparked inspiration within the louder of the two. Lines of poetry ring out as sulphur spheres stray from the pottery at hand.
Time and time again, the third notices the behaviourisms of the couple, as they become more and more obvious as minutes trickle by. ---- The duo now stood before a painting of trees.
"It's quite strange though..." muses the figure from afar.
The 'strange' aspect is that not pair of eyes observed the image simultaneously, one always inspected as the other looked away.
Oh, and the third-wheeler with binoculars, no big deal.
"Hmm I wonder which species of tree this is... Do you know Azuma-san?"
"Fufu no, but I'm sure Tsumugi would if he were here"
They share a glance, a moment to remember their other partner, before moving on.
"...ma'am they seem to be studying each other's appearance...rather than the articles on display." --- Only when the partners head off to the indoor café, does one register their circumstances.
"Homare-kun, look at me."
"Hmm?"
"We're being followed-"
"BEING FOLLOWED? WHO?! WHERE?!?"
"Homare-sama please calm down, you're attracting the attention of the staff"
"Takao?!" “Takao?”
The lovers stare at him, Homare wondering why the Arisugawa butler is here, and not at home.
"Yes, it is me. I shall be leaving though, take care Homare-sama, Yukishiro-sama"
---
Bonus:
“My my, Takao was sent by your grandmother to find out why you were so excited Homare-kun. Fufu, anyway I hope you had a great day like I did-
Oh, and try not to become a tomato dear~”

I don’t know much about Chelsea Flower Show
But like. It’s happening this week
Anyway, I just think Tsumugi dreams of going there (it is supposed to be the best flower show)
Or even participating
So when he finds out they’re being taken to the UK to promote one of the gardens, he is enthralled, and does his absolute best, causing the crowd to burst into tears with his amazing acting

Random new thought for a headcanon...But what if:
August lived in an orphanage before being taken in by the Organisation
They’d scouted him for his scientific capabilities
The fact that August always yearned for a happy family was always denied one
So he decided to take in April and December in order to form one
There are more ideas but they’re so incoherent...I’ll probably be compiling them into a little fic soon

Spring Troupe on Black Clover (Headcanons)
Sakuya
This little angel watched it and kept on doing so ever since Itaru first made him do so
Loves the series
Reads the manga, which Itaru would buy for him, but he rejects and borrows his copies
Is often involved in the street acts based on BC
Talks to the kids at his work about it ever since they found out he’s also a fan
Masumi
Listens to the music often
Favourite OP is Grandeur and favourite ED is Amazing Dreams
Relates to Asta and his troubles with Sister Lily (‘marry me’ ‘no’)
Once recreated it, and Izumi didn’t even realise since she’s so used to Masumi being like that
Once Izumi asked for someone to sing the lyrics of one of the BC songs, and Masumi was ready and singing for her
Everyone didn’t expect him to become a fan, but surprisingly wasn’t motivated by Izumi to start watching it (our dear director was pulled in later)
Tsuzuru
Citron sat him down to watch it during one his slumps
Had seen bits before with his little brothers
Another one of the analysers
Takes actual notes for reference
Reads the manga, borrowed from Itaru
Casual fan
Itaru
Followed the manga a year after it began releasing (which was in 2015)
Has every volume, and they’re all in excellent condition
Has been watching Black Clover since it first aired in 2017
Die hard fan
The one that began the spell quoting
Just a big dork when Itaru comes to BC
Plays as Asta often on Jump Force
Always down for the BC themed street acts
Best girl is Secre and best boy is Yuno
Favourite OP and ED are Haruka Mirai and Four respectively
Knows all the lyrics to the songs
Brought the original BC revolution
Lots of merchandise
Has been to BC themed events numerous times
Has the most knowledge on the entire franchise
Will be the one to take all of Spring to watch the movie in the cinemas and will go all out for it
Probably more headcanons on a separate post, along with how Taruchi got into BC
Citron
Has been watching ever since he moved to the dorm
Got into the series straight away
Often screams fans over it with Itaru
Spell quoting squad, yelling loud sub-group
The spells are often Citron-ifed in terms of pronunciation
Another music fan
Favourites are JUSTadICE (OP) and Aoi Hono (ED)
Knows the lyrics to all of them, but just like the spells, they’re Citron-ifed in terms of pronunciation
Talks about BC with the kids in the neighbourhood
Reads the manga
Loves participating in the BC themed street acts
Would love to be a great ruler like Julius Novachrono
Chikage
Was roped in one day after work by Itaru and Hisoka
Is quite interested in BC, but doesn’t always show it
Adores Nacht, who is Chikage’s favourite character and totally not because I like him too
Reads the manga, stolen from Itaru (lol)
Sometimes pretends to spoil the series for non-manga readers
Bribed Convinced to recreate the fight scenes, but Chikage doesn’t mind at all
To BC masterpost

Another story from the Mankai’s Chickens series
A/N: Happy Birthday to @sumerag1 hope you like my present for you and sorry I bullied him a little too much. Hope the rest of your day is brilliant Ri~!
Tumblr media
“Hack what are you up to now?”
“Who are you calling hack?! Never mind, I’m going to check on the chickens”
Huffing as he stalked out into the court yard, Tenma muttered complaints about his younger friend’s harsh wording. As he glanced around, he spotted Fredrick out of the pen, causing beads of liquid to emerge from his skin as he heard a ‘cluck’, but one of a different kind.
Silence.
Step.
Cluck.
Step, step.
Cluck, cluck.
Step, step, step.
Cluck, cluck, cluck.
Tenma breaks out into a sprint as he tries to contain the escapee. Only for the clucks to become more and more aggressive from the cockerel.
Finally, he detains our dear Fred, heaving a sigh of relief as he does so. But ‘all good things come to an end’, no?
Peck.
Screams of pain and annoyance erupt from the tsundere’s vocal chords as the bird is now free and chasing him. Peck. And pecking him.
The more he ran, the more the chicken seemed to be catching up and the more he became irritated and embarrassed at the situation at hand. Into the kitchen, peck, out to the front, peck, up the stairs, peck, around the yard, peck: there wasn’t one space where the duo didn’t cover. Cue the chase montage- and comedic music- as the pair run in and out of various doors in the dorm. Panting, Tenma needed a way to stop this situation. Using his brain (for once), he came up with a plan.
Tumblr media
Which is why he has now been standing in the toilet for 3 hours.
...And Fred is patiently waiting outside. Beady orbs that never left the handle.
‘How convenient’ was Tenma’s main sardonic thought as his hands made their way up to his head.
‘Now how am I supposed to escape?!’
Only for a certain pessimist to open the door and accidentally enable the angered bird to enter, extracting its revenge. So much for being safe-
Tumblr media
Bonus:
“I’m done, but how on earth did you end up with all those peck marks covering your body Tenma?”
“...”
“Oh, and why is the bathroom floor covered in Fred’s feathers?”
“...”
“Tenma?”
“...I’d rather not answer those Director”
“...Ok, but please do talk to Muku after, he’s still worried about you”

My headcanon on why Hisoka covers his right eye (if I get the wrong eye, please tell me)
As mentioned in my post on Hisoka being heterochromatic, his eye colours may have something to do with his past in the organisation
This point kills me (I said this will be angsty), but what if that eye reminds him of a promise with August, to stay safe
Hisoka hides it so no one but him knows about his promise with August (Chikage doesn't even know)
And Hiso can't forget about it, I mean the one eye colour which he doesn’t cover looks a lot like August's hair colour, which makes him feel connected to his older brother
Its a reminder of his past, to live for the future, and he doesn't want to share it (not yet anyway)
Its also a reminder of August and Chikage's reaction to when Hisoka sustained his injury, how worried they both were (Chikage obviously being more discreet about his worrying), and so Hisoka doesn't want to ever forget his past with his family again and how much they care about him
Oh, and I forgot to add, it could also be Hisoka’s way of mourning August
I just ruined myself with bitter-sweetness and angst TTvTT

Something I totally forgot about but Izumi would totally:
Make curried baked beans when the Mankai members ever eat baked beans (do they in Japan? ...no not really, its quite rare)
Just thought I’d throw this out as well
