Just musing about/writing transport related stuff 🤔 (Except top left, that is just Faustus being a little fittie lol)

Faustus doesn’t have a driving licence although he has had a fair amount of driving experience- especially driving his family’s tractors and other farm equipment. Erm obviously that isn’t particularly useful in the USA and he honestly is probably a bit of a menace on the road. So its public transport or biking for him!

Or rather… mostly cycling because he hates public transport - I can imagine being crammed in with so many people in rush hour to be torture for people like him who have a really sensitive sense of smell and hearing. Maybe there are like sound/smell reduced zones/booths? That would be an interesting accommodation for non-human clients.

At… some points Sydney does take Faustus home from work. Erm, not sure how regularly though?? Maybe more regularly as they become closer, plus he has to drive them to and from various investigations so…. -shrug-

richie will 100% make a direct comment about the nature of carmy/sydney’s dynamic/connection next season, without question.

and it goes far beyond his “ooohhh” after they fought in front of everyone. though that wasn’t a throw away line bc the camera panned to him in the middle of them going back and forth. he’s watching them INTENTLY.

what makes me certain that he’ll say something is everything else we’ve come to know and been told about richie, especially this past season.

him being this perceptive, people person. being good with people. really SEEING people, and even the shrouded part of them they think is hidden from view.

first, he knew natalie was pregnant, even offered her sprite. 

but this is the scene that really tips me off: when sydney comes in late to the pre- open meeting, it isn’t just carmy that turns to watch her enter, it’s also richie. when marcus follows, again... it’s carmy AND richie who look.

now, this isn’t odd for carmy, his eyes find sydney in a room often. but richie mirroring carmy in this scene is very specific and distinct.

richie might even be the one that catches on to marcus’ thing for sydney and tells carmy about it. then he could potentially even react to carmy’s likely strong reaction to this information, only for richie to make additional comments that then showcase carmy’s denial or refuting of this thing that richie has been observing.

either way, richie is saying something.

he might even say something to sydney directly. it’ll be entertaining regardless. 

the denial olympics will be funny.

trying not to talk too much abt the bear s2 but im Really fuckin frustrated that even with everyone demanding that they’re sooo media literate and sooo smart that no one has talked about claire and the way she sparks audience discomfort. like, she feels out of place within the show because CARMY cannot accept that he is getting this good thing—she feels out of place in HIS life. she’s actually crafted to be the ideal girlfriend, with glowy bokeh lighting in a grocery store and beauty shot close ups and a sweet instrumental leitmotif to show to you, an audience member, that she’s too good to be true in carmys eyes. if you’re an audience member, she raises alarm bells in YOUR head because she raises alarm bells in HIS. he literally tells us that—that’s the crux of his final monologue, that he doesn’t believe he can have the life of food and wines best chef and a life of love and human connection. he doesn’t believe he’s deserving of good things because his family has always been so fucked, because nothing he’s ever tried to hold together has held together—except for his cooking. it’s done this way on purpose, to make you feel that anxiety that he feels around this relationship, and to make you question why you feel it too
