by far the best part of grocery shopping is the little babies. i was carefully selecting mushrooms when i felt upon me a piercing gaze and looked up to see a very chubby and very red-cheeked baby staring intently at me from a grocery cart with a slightly furrowed brow, hand clutching an apple for dear life. i wiggled a mushroom at her and she gasped and kept staring. i turned back to the mushrooms and heard a shriek. i turned around and the baby stared in anticipation. i wiggled another mushroom and she shrieked again in delight. she looked down at the apple in her hand, considering it for a moment. fair-minded as she was, she decided it would only be right to wiggle produce at me in return, and she held up the apple and shook it with all her might. i think i could live forever now

#there was a kid at coles yesterday going 'immm a chicken nugget" and the poor parent was so done #also shout out to the kid at the albert heijn two years ago who was so curious about my trolley. lol #the parent in the second case did apologise to me #i was like bruh he can do whatever just dont start stealing

There should be more books that have chapter titles, and then a little summary of the chapter below them. You don't have to be boring with them, or spoil the whole chapter by telling what happens - you could make it vague, like a prophecy of something you know is going to happen, but you don't know how, or with what results.

Having one-sentence summaries like "Chapter 12 - where the Queen's hound makes a fatal mistake" and you're like oh shit does this refer to the queen's actual hunting dog, or the guy that's mockingly called her lapdog? "Chapter 24 - where justice finds a thief, and a thief finds justice" and you're like ooooh shit the cute little pickpocket is going to get caught, and then it turns out that shit, she does get caught, but by someone who actually agrees that she's right to steal to help feed her family, and gets her help instead, which is justice.

You already know what's going to happen, but not how.

#when i was 12 i wrote a story and every chapter started with ‘how and how not to’ #so chapter one was ‘how and how not to eat breakfast’ #every scene in goud has a title #i was thinking i should name them all after dutch songs but then i would have to rid myself of ‘a tuesday night in amsterdam’ #and that’s very much ingrained in my head

will never forget when my ex director screamed at me for not moving downstage to become the river and i went “you told me i was the fisherman” and he then proceeded like nothing happened.

#he assigned the roles as we went so basically at the end of the prev rehearsal he said that i was the fisherman and to stay upstage #and the next rehearsal he absolutely went off at me when we got to that bit bc i just sat there #and i basically was like uhh im special here sorry and then he was like oh yeah #that production man we all bitched in the bathroom about it and we generally were a tight cast bc of it #but i never auditioned with that company again #it was way too much commitment #why were there 17 shows??? #theatre
