Alcuni sketch di Stripper, personaggio del mio fumetto "Super Tits". 🌟 L'ultimo è decisamente più veloce, perchè eravamo a Lucca Comics e c'era il delirio di dediche e sketch da fare. Probabilmente, almeno nelle fiere importanti come Lucca, dovrei farli tutti così. 😅 Negli anni ho un po' "viziato" i lettori con sketch in omaggio un po' elaborati, che ormai si aspettano, ma che io non riesco più a fare per tutti (perché per fortuna i lettori sono aumentati). Le possibilità, alle fiere grandi, potrebbero essere: o accontentare "bene" alcuni con sketch elaborati, o accontentare tutti ma con sketch veramente veloci, doodle. 🤔 Ecco perché vi consiglio, se potete, di partecipare alle PREvendite perché io ho la possibilità di realizzare gli sketch con "calma" a casa, come il primo della slide e sarete sicuri di averne uno. ☺️ Attualmente è ancora in corso la prevendita di "Weird-Vampy", il mio nuovo fumetto. The entries of the demeter are the perfect example on how to convey horror in a few little pages, specially with something like the lenght of the logs, and the details described in them.

The captain starts his log in a very methodical and technical writing style that shows us how the demeter started, in what we can imply, another work journey across the sea. The captain writes about the cargo, the crew, the points that the ship must take to reach its destination, normal aspects that would be written in a working log. All of these are mentioned in a few sentences since everything else is irrelevant for now.

Then, the entry of July 14 is the first one that builds up the tension in the ship. This entry is longer than the others, we get no mention of where the demeter is so far, and the captain tells us that his crew is anxious about something. Moreover, the captain writes the detail that he has worked with this crew before, which indicates that the anxiety felt on the ship is not normal.

After that the following log entries are all about the mystery which is happening in the ship instead of the Demeter's progress in their work journey. The entries are longer than before, much more detailed in the recounting of the events. We now have some of the names of the crew, and they worry that builds up in the captain in each log. We know how the men feel about this weird mystery that does not let them do their job in peace.

Until one member of the crew is missing. A man is nowhere to be seen in a ship in the middle of the ocean. An unexpected situation that only helps to make the captain and his crew more anxious, and impatient about what is happening.

Then we get the first look of dracula in the ship, how he let himself be seen by one of the crew members in the same way he let himself be seen by Jonathan. Dracula is employing the same fear tactics used to terrorize Jonathan in the demeter's crew because he knows that they are effective.

After that, since the demeter's crew is only human, they decide to investigate everything in the ship so they can finally calm down, or prepare for the worst. They search the ship from top to bottom, and don't find anything strange. This means that their worries are a thing of the past because now they have proof that "nothing" is happening. The captain is relieved that nothing is wrong.

But we humans are stubborn, and even after having the "evidence" of nothing being wrong, we still have our doubts. So the first mate scowls.

Folklore is full of tales of humans, both adults and children, who disappear – stolen away by the fairies to never be seen again. If they are lucky, they are stolen to become a bride, or a daughter. If they are unlucky… well, dying would be the least of their worries. Folklore and superstition is also full of ways to avoid this fate, wearing your clothing inside out, avoiding the colour green or touching iron. Unfortunately for Jude, protagonist of Holly Black’s The Cruel Prince, these protections come too late. Stolen away by the fairies as a child, she and her sisters must survive in the fickle and often merciless realm of fairy-land.

The Cruel Prince begins with the kidnapping of Jude and her twin sister, Taryn, stolen away by the Redcap, Madoc. Their mother had once been married to him and their older half-sister, Vivi, is half fairy. It is a recurring aspect of British and European folklore that a fairy is bound to their word and oath, and so fairies are swift to take revenge on humans who commit the unforgivable sin of breaking their word.

Perhaps, if Jude’s mother had been more familiar with fairy tales, she would have known better than to break her wedding vows – especially with redcaps being a particularly malicious figure in Scottish and British folklore.

i don't know or remember if anyone asked this already, but does mychael have any religion or something like that? maybe supertitions?

I've played around with this concept in my head! I did want to explore a unique kind of religion/belief Mychael has but,,, eventually I kinda settled on the idea that Mychael broke off from that way of thinking? Or something like that. But feel free to have your own interpretation!

His biggest superstition is respecting the forest and whatever happens in the forest, stays in the forest.

🍒: She did have her first kiss! It was in her teens, with a beautiful girl and they were watching the ships come and go from the harbor while the sun was setting, just a very cute moment. Angra has always been a bit of a flirt and a bit of a romantic

🍾: She does believe in luck, she learned all sorts of supertitions from her dad while sailing with him (he’s very extra superstitious) for example she still thinks to this day that whistling on a boat brings bad weather / attracts storms, and she always makes offerings to the sea, usually something from her spoils
