Explaining Dignities: Exaltation

The reason why I want to talk about them is because I've actually seen dignities play a big role in readings, as they do describe how well or adverse certain matters can play out for the querent...so here's a little analogy to understand them better!

Context: In Hellenistic (traditional) astrology, exalted planets are said to be like the favorite guests of a given sign (host), so the resources they have at their disposal are equal or even greater than the host's. In other words, imagine a queen or king being invited to a neighboring kingdom, they will be treated with the greatest of honors and commodities! In a practical aspect, this means that the qualities of that planet (the guest) will be able to shine at their maximum, making that particular area of life (house) easier or more fortunate for the owner of the birth chart.

*Mind that below I’m speaking metaphorically of “house” as the SIGN the planet is exalted, and not the astrological house as such (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). *

Sun in Aries: Sun is a friend of Mars, as both rule fire signs and are leaders by nature. Mars is delighted to receive his royal friend, as he’s anxious to show him how noble, honorable, brave, and pioneer he is, and just how much he has achieved on his own. His job is to win wars for the kingdom after all! He’s thrilled to share his best tactics and borrow his friend his most treasured weaponry. 🌙Pluto in our charts also can show us how is our Arrogant/Egocentric/Shadow side... So people who have very big egos, we tend to confuse that with high confidence, but arrogance/narcissism/etc could also take you to Big material places (just look Kleopatra, Hitler, Mussolini) but with empty ends, because arrogance/narcissism represents psychological problems that are against our real “nature”, and this type of people are everywhere nowadays: All “Goddesses/gods”, “Kings/Queens”, all people who only see themselves as 10/10, people who identifies too strong with an identity(beliefs), just tyrannic people everywhere generating a numb/superficial/dumb world... AND THAT IS WHAT PLUTO IS TRYING TO SHOW US! Idk why no one is putting these people in their place!? First, let's start with some basic definitions. This happens approximately every 28 to 30 years and is believed to mark a period of intense personal growth, self-reflection, and the beginning of a new chapter in one's life.

A Saturn Return Chart is a type of birth chart that is cast specifically for the time when Saturn returns to its natal position in your birth chart. It gives insight into the specific themes and challenges that you may face during your Saturn Return.You can do your Saturn Return Chart here!

The Sun represents your sense of self, your ego, and your basic identity. Its placement in your Saturn Return Chart can provide insight into how you are likely to experience this time period. It also speaks to your identity and how you will be affected in a more personal way. The Saturn Return speaks volumes about our place in the world, but the Sun can show where we feel most affected in our personal lives.

It’s that time again: time for the astrology of relationships vs the self to manifest.

The full moon in Libra goes exact on April 5, at around 9:32 PM.

The Libra moon gives a reliance on others and can bring a sense of security that can only be fulfilled through support from those that we love and an experience of camaraderie. With the sun being in Aries we want to get along with others but also be recognized for the true strength of our character, and we don’t want to be told what to do!. There can be a major culmination of realizing who we are in our relationships, and how our relationships affect the path we are forging in life through conviction and determination. There can be themes of balancing out the internal and external, as well as balancing concerns regarding the receptivity that others have of our ideas and impusles - ensuring that we don’t go to extremes in compliant desires for approval or desires for power or independence. When we look at rulerships, the ruler of Libra, Venus, is in Taurus, conjunct Uranus. This can bring a theme of detaching from certain social situations or relationship roles.

Uranus always brings an urge to be unexpected, and can make deviation from the regular really appealing. With Uranus being an important player during the full moon we may feel a need to experience our inner wildness and the uncultivated elements of ourselves that we have been used to keeping hidden. Venus in Taurus is an energy of relishing what’s beautiful, but with the conjunction to Uranus we may find that certain things we once coveted feel quite stale. A need to change things up: either in the environment, in relationships or otherwise, may be pervading under the full moon.

The ruler of Aries is Mars, and Mars is traveling through Cancer. There’s a lot that needs to be processed emotionally before we can really understand the full scope of our power to move things. There are things from that past that threaten to get us stuck again, but if we practice patience and understanding regarding the inner self we can continue on, unstuck. Mars is Trining Saturn, which can help us find an outlet for angst, frustration or emotional uncertainty.

The sun is conjunct Jupiter when the moon goes full. Jupiter in Aries has been bringing us blessings in the realm of initiation of new ventures, new exciting prospects and the bravery to finally act on certain aspirations we’ve had for some time. Having it conjunct the sun is really giving us an opportunity to philosophically expand our understanding of the ego. We can feel justified in taking action to fulfill certain facets of what we believe to be our destiny. Jupiter brings great faith, so having it conjunct the sun on a full moon is incredibly auspicious. It’s important to remember to reel in some of the chaotic and high speed energies of excitement, though, as with Aries there’s always the possibility for recklessness.
