i couldn't for the life of me find it again but i saw this really great post about how rex seems like he has BPD or a cluster b personality and i totally agree and i feel like it fits into markrex quite well for a few reasons. when rex first sees mark and eve arriving together, he has a really dramatically negative reaction even after eve tells him they go to the same high school. i feel like this scene highlights how rex is really insecure about himself and the relationship, and that eve merely being around an attractive guy like mark makes him feel really threatened. he also later makes fun of mark, which isn't abnormal for him but i feel like was to try and make himself feel better about the situation and the perceived rejection he's probably feeling from eve. and when they contain to hang out it made rex feel even worse, so he decides to self sabotage by cheating with kate. and the line kate says to eve is also really telling IMO, because we know he wasn't telling the truth but the fact that he would say she's dating invincible now means he could feel as if that might as well be true, because of a perceived abandonment of him by eve for mark. and for markrex, i think this could also show that rex is insecure about his attraction to mark as well, and probably feels inferior to him.

i did a lil more reading and digging about it the clusters in BPD and i totally see what you mean.

ik it's not canon that rex has BPD but it would be so interesting to have that type of rep in the show.

also, thank you for listing out the moments those are really still fresh in my mind cause i've started to ship markrex even then.

all of rex's appearances and moments are memorable tbh. and it is highlighted with how he reacts with the things around him (as you listed this includes his dramatic moments, his jealousy, possible feelings of inferiority, and his self-sabotaging ways).

these things does add a certain interesting aspects about markrex's dynamic. and the s2 ep1 is such a blessing tbh.

because in s1 we see markrex in a not-so positive light considering there were moments rex was mean to mark. but mark never really took any of it to heart. which, btw, bless. it speaks how mature mark is and i think it'll be a really good balance with rex's immaturity.

now with their moment on s2ep1, it's such a good change to see them interact this way. you wouldn't think that rex would comfort him — if anything, i genuinely thought the writers would have black samson comforting invincible — but rex was genuine about it. sure it wasn't the most comforting or eloquent reassurance, but it was a genuine attempt coming from rex.

i do have a lil fic in the works for it btw hehe, but that's for another time.

personally i'm looking forward for more markrex interactions. i think they can balance each other really well, the blue-red aesthetic is there too, and the one-sided rivalry to allies to friends to lovers arc is my jammmm 🫶

This has been sitting in my askbox for a while and I forgor to reply sorry Birby 😭🙏

Anyway!!! Let me give you the shortest possible rundown of my ocs as I try not to die in the process:

This is Grisha. He’s a bitch and can see dead people but it’s not a good thing. Chronically ill because of the dead people thing and has Some Issues regarding religion. Suffers of the godforsaken combination of “too many trust issues” x “very desperate for human connection”. God’s little chew toy and very painfully aware of it

This is Felix. He tries to be cool but is actually just some guy (and a kinda lame one at that but in a good way, at least). Has some deep-seated issues regarding himself and his sense of identity after years of pretending to be someone he isn’t for people that were never all that worth it but surely this won’t ever come back to bite him in the ass at some point. Neither will the fact he keeps running away from the past. Very emotionally congested but acts like he’s alright and chilling. Loves his daughter and is a true doñita at heart. Also he’s half ecuadorian which is important to mention to Me, an ecuadorian

This is Laura. She’s as close as we get to the only normal person in the cast but if anything she’s just the Least fucked up one. Constantly stressed and an overachiever. Enough caffeine in her blood to kill a horse. She does a good job at making people respect her but also she’s a girlfailure at heart. Not nearly enough social skills which is why her best friend is the only other guy in the office who doesn’t have friends either. Needs a hug and a nap but is too proud to ask for any of those. Doesn’t believe in the supernatural at all so she feels like everyone around her is pulling an incredibly elaborate prank to which she doesn’t get the punchline

This is Viktoria. She’s a bodyguard and a trained assassin since childhood. Feels incredibly disconnected from her emotions due to this that when they hit her on like a random tuesday at 3 AM she doesn’t know what to do. Feels more like a tool than a person and is so used to people not actually paying attention to her as a human being that when someone does she’s too awkward to keep the interaction going. Can and will kill you but she just wants to retire at this point. Tough and terrifying but also kinda lame but she’s allowed to be. As a treat

This is Cain. He’s a priest but he doesn’t actually believe in God, at least not in the orthodox way. Only reason he has the job is that they found him outside the church like a kitten in a wet box and decided to take him in, and the only reason he keeps the job is that somehow he’s good enough at it that more people join the church. A huge asshole so people either genuinely like having him around or just put up with him. Can also see dead people but it’s not nearly as catastrophic as Grisha’s case. Also incapable of forming healthy connections with people but that’s a problem he refuses to unpack

This is Gabrijel. He’s a millionaire and a model and a celebrity and a philantropist and a cult leader but the public is unaware of only one (1) of those things, and you can probably guess which one. Manipulative and cunning and overall a pretty terrible guy but charismatic enough for people to think there’s nothing wrong with him. Completely derranged but composed enough….until he Isn’t. Viktoria can’t stand him and anyone that works directly under him doesn’t like him but he’s too pretty to be bothered I suppose. Wants to bring literal Hell onto the world bc he thinks he’s Jesus or something bigger. Wouldn’t want him to haunt the narrative or anything, that would suck

The very general plot is that a bunch of people are being murdered. Grisha and Laura investigate it. Felix gets involved because he knew one of the victims and has mysteriously large amounts of information. Gabrijel is responsible for it and it’s all linked to his evil plan(TM). He first tasks Viktoria with killing them but Viktoria is done with his shit so she acts as a double agent for him and for Laura so she can Maybe get a day of peace in her life for once. Everything goes to shit at some point but I can talk abt it later since I feel like this is already too convoluted(?). And Cain is just There for the drama of it all ig

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

Genuinely can't choose, but this one has a special place in my heart and I haven't brought it up this game so far. Dublin Murder Squad series, post book 1, some supernatural elements and fairy folklore, and I had a great time trying to recreate the narrative voice of the book

K: Do you have a guilty pleasures in fic (reading or writing)?

I feel like I'm pretty straightforward in owning up to what I like, but I probably don't talk enough on main about my undying love for Peggy Sure fics (time travel into body of past self!!!) and amnesia fics (medical accuracy WHOMST). I also have read and enjoyed thoroughly the worst filth you can imagine. Like, whatever you're thinking "this is the grossest kinkiest most hardcore fic in existence", I've probably read worse (where "worse" is a feature, not a bug). I'm always happy to give recs if asked. Call me the smut whisperer.

N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?

I believe it's my turn to write the RoyJamie get together in Marbella post S2 trope :D

Thank you for answering my other ask! I am curious about everyone's events, and if you're still willing to put together a list I'd love to read it! I was a girl scout when I was younger, so that's my camp experience, but I'm really interested in summer camps so this au is very interesting to me lol. Oh, and do they have charging stations there for everyone? And can you tell us more about the other two humans aside from Y/N and Vanessa?

Yes yes yes yes ABSOLUTELY Thank you for asking!!!!

Ok to Start, everyone's events

Freddy- Play activities! This usually involves a variety of props and toys, like jumpropes, hula hoops, foam balls, and a variety of other stuff. Most times he'll have some fun creative game to play, but his events are basically just recess.

Chica-Snacks. Usually involves teaching the campers to make different fun snacks and having all the groups make different variations of snacks! (The camper's favorite to make is ice cream) and these snacks are usually enjoyed that night at a big bon fire!

Foxy and Bonnie- Team activities. Foxy and Bonnie co-lead these events and its usually team games like capture the flag and kickball! The two are very close friends but also very competitive with eachother.

Roxy- Nature activities. Usually a Hike, rock climbing, or camping lessons like how to start a fire. She also sets up occasional nature scavenger hunts.

Monty- Water activities. As I said on the last post, anything involving water is Monty's forte, sometimes this is just a big swim day at the camp's lake, or an extra long afternoon in the pool! He's the camp favorite on hot days.

Sun- Crafts! Of course Sun is in charge of campwide crafts, usually teaching the kids how to tie dye, or make lanyards! He also has a box full of friendship bracelets (at least one from every camper). His best event was when he lead the camp in making custom flags for each cabin!

Moon- Camp songs! He teaches the entire camp songs, and usually has fun song-based games for campers to do! He also passes out small instruments like tambourines and maracas for the kids to play along with! Unlike the other counselors though, Moon's event day is reserved for the Friday night bonfires!

Y/N and Delilah- Educational interactive activities! Usually involving some cool sciencey medical fact, Delilah and Y/N usually team up to teach the kids something cool and new, although it can sometimes be boring (like their lesson on poison Ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. But sometimes they're a big hit, like teaching the kids how to ride horses or showing them snakes from the reptile house.

As for the rest of your question

Charging stations, YES! They do have charging stations! Just like in the pizzaplex they each have their own rooms (albeit less fancy than those of the plex as they're remodeled cabin rooms that the human counselors used to stay in) They do have charging stations! However, as part of their outdoor upgrades, they can go about two and a half days without charging, although it isn't recommended. The counselors (human and animatronic) all stay in a very large cabin that rests kind of in between all the camper's cabins so they can hear and rush to the kids aid should something happen! Y/N, Delilah, and K.C. Stay here but Vanessa has her own quarters.

Also I'd LOVE to tell you about Delilah and K.C.

K.C. is actually Y/N's roommate! The two were dormmates In their early college days and got along so well they just moved into an apartment together! K.C. Is a mechanical engineering major and was actually really excited about having animatronics at the camp! K.C. is also the one who convinced Y/N to come back to work at the camp this year (after they swore up and down that last year would be the last time they worked at a summer camp)! K.C. is actually their initials and their name is Kasey Caldwell. (They go by K.C. because they think its funny that it sounds just like their normal first name)

As for Delilah, she has been a counselor at the camp for years! She's studying to become a zoologist and has a LOVE for animals. She takes care of the animals they keep there at camp, and is happy to teach the kids about them. She also happens to be the granddaughter of the camp's previous owners and went to the camp since she was a little kid! She's a bit more hesitant around the animatronics at first, but quickly becomes friends with them, and loves having them around! She's very friendly but also kind of oblivious. Y/N and K.C. love her dearly though and the three of them like to call themselves "The Terrible Trio" even though they're really not that bad

Vanessa is kind of a mystery to Y/N. She does her job and keeps the camp stocked full of supplies and operational, but she never seems to be around. Whenever Y/N HAS talked to Vanessa she's very wishy washy, sometimes being very friendly before suddenly being very cold and threatening. (and Y/N Swears they've heard her talking to herself a few times) very freaky Lady. Gives Y/N bad vibes
