fabian’s insistence on calling someone to tell them about lucy & yolanda because he thought people just deserved to know, out of respect. both deeply sweet & incredibly gutting. (bill seacaster move over that’s MY darling boy)

one of the funniest bits of this episode though was the bad kids pulling up to the diner because they “wanted something hot” and proceeding to order mostly cottage cheese and ice cream

so if freshman year was an 80s coming-of-age movie and sophomore year was a road trip movie, i think it's safe to say that junior year is a straight up slasher

Okay, HANG ON
Summer Breakdown, very end of the episode, 2:26:22, when Zayn is telling Adaine about her sister moving out
Someone rolls a die offscreen. You can hear it. Its LOUD. That is not a haphazard background noise, its deliberately included in the mixing
Who the fuck is rolling, and for what???? Could it be…

there’s something so heartbreaking about adaine sticking up for kristen and fig when jawbone pulls them off to the side. recalling helping kristen with homework and offering to go to bard classes disguised as fig and providing examples of the ways they’ve succeeded in non-school activities. reasons why her friends have value. reasons why jawbone shouldn’t be disappointed.
and even though jawbone is being as gentle as possible in raising his concerns, there’s still an slightly panicked instinct in her to show full support for her friends in front of an authority figure. an instinct maybe inspired by wishing that someone would have stuck up for her that way during similar conversations in the past.
