YOWZA WOWZA it's been a while! My MH spark died down for a bit in favour of my OCs and goddamned Papa Louie if you can believe it, but my monster high hyperfixation eventually came back and came back swinging! It definitely helps that I recently got some new supplies that Ive never played with before... paint pens! A point I would like to draw a line across:

This is the argument kdj gives yjh: that the yogoes from Journey to the West, formed of memory-less outer gods, deserve respect and compassion even if they won't remember your kindness. They should still be saved regardless of their condition (leading to the yogoe pilgrimage he initiated).

I wonder if yjh remembers his words later, after they've retrieved the comatose kdj from the train. In his moments of confusion and reminiscence, knowing what kdj has been reduced to, does it bring him comfort knowing that he had essentially chosen the same action kdj himself chose when faced with the yogoes?

A cold comfort, given unlike the yogoes, there is no further apparent grace, no pilgrimage to take kdj on that will grant salvation to him (until the chance for a pilgrimage DOES appear, 2 years later, but he wouldn't know that until then)
