MAX-IMUM ATTACK 2017 Season Photos and words by Darren Heath
Monday lunchtime, Heathrow Terminal 5. Standing next to the slowly revolving baggage carousel, a fresh-faced, slightly awkward-looking - just out of his teens - young man is awaiting the arrival of his chattels.
Dressed in bland black trainers, similarly hued skinny jeans and an oversized hoody, this Young Turk ain’t winning any style awards. iPhone in hand, he’s busy swiping the screen in that head-bowed social media style billions of us now ‘enjoy’.
Max Verstappen doesn’t really do flash. He couldn’t look more ‘normal’. Yet put him in a racing car and he’s just about the most special talent to arrive on motor racing’s top step for decades.
Schumacher-esque – Michael of course! – is a term increasingly heard up and down the F1 paddock, such is the impact the Netherlands’ premier sportsman is now making.
I can see it too.
The fresh-faced 16-year-old boy who was, upon his arrival, so ignorantly dismissed by many within the sport is rapidly becoming a man. It’s amazing how quickly young sportsmen living life in the public gaze assume adulthood. Just take a look at Sebastian Vettel. The gawky kid of 2009 became the handsome dude of 2010!
What sets the potentially great apart from the mediocre? What makes Max Verstappen so, so much more special than, say, Carlos Sainz?
I guess it’s the whole package: the look; the mien; the steely character honed to be a racer almost from before he could walk; the utterly uncompromising way he dismisses any questioning of his racecraft; the toys-out-of-the-pram reaction to harsh penalties; the fast straight-out-of-the-box attacking style; and the rapier-like overtaking ability, the like of which we haven’t seen for many a year. Such was Max’s impact on the art of passing and defending, the rules had to be rewritten!
The way the car looks through the turns, the application of throttle, steering and immensely late braking. Metronomic in his blisteringly fast lap time delivery, this boy has the lot. He IS the future of Formula 1.
In so, so many ways – but let’s hope not all – Max is the new MSC.
Racing in an aggressive and forceful style often results in on-track contretemps with some of his more seasoned rivals. No matter, Max takes no prisoners, batting away questions about the legality of some of his racing moves with a dismissive arrogance that’s strangely appealing in its delivery.
Up to speed now and surely making Dan Ricciardo question his team-leading abilities, Verstappen is unquestionably Red Bull’s main man.
Off-track too, Max is sorted. Guided by his F1-experienced father, the young Verstappen has an able and well-qualified navigator at the helm. Learning from his own ill-advised 1990s F1 driving career decisions, Jos pays absolute attention so as to ensure his son maximises the opportunities on offer.
With top-drawer drivers in short supply, Red Bull had better make damned sure their 2019-and-beyond engine supply is top-notch. The bidding war for Max’s signature is already in full swing. Ferrari and Mercedes are enviously eyeing the Dutchman’s abilities with covetous desire.
It’s easy to forget that Max is only 20 years old. Way ahead in racing driver maturity - a relative term! – than so many millions of a similar age, Max has appeared mentally developed beyond his years since first he appeared in the F1 paddock at Spa 2014. It struck me then how entirely capable this 16-year-old boy was dealing with multiple language questions and untold camera lenses. Listening to his interrogator politely before answering calmly and intelligently, Max appeared born to the role…
Fast forward to now and Verstappen is a multiple grand prix winner and 2018 title-chasing challenger. Part of the new breed of F1 racers, Max leads the pack. Publicly respectful of his rivals, although privately dismissive of many, he well knows his place among the potentially great.
Michael Schumacher once opined – in an interview I photographed – that his father had advised him to heed well the arrival on the scene of the next great talent. The one who’d challenge and quickly replace the dominant male. Well, Lewis, Sebastian and Fernando, that man has arrived.
You’d best heed Herr Schumacher’s words well…

bubblegum and gasoline- bill kaulitz
Tumblr media
synopsis- Rumi, a 20 year old russian girl, lives in germany in a highrise apartment in the center of berlin. one night she visits berlin's most famous race track.
warnings- underage drinking, smoking, swearing (will be smut, etc is other parts of story.)
A/N- comment if i should post another part :) this is set during bills 2009-2012 eras you pick
part 1- off to the races
I woke up to the sound of cars swerving through the autobahn. it was about 5 in the afternoon and i had just woken up from a nap. my brunette hair was messy and my bangs were greasy. i still smelled of a cheap perfume from last night's outing. my friend lilya had stayed over, and was sprawled out on the floor of my cold apartment. i tapped on lilya's shoulder in an attempt to wake her. " u up?" i ask. "sure" she woke up and stretched her arms. we both looked sickly and had dark purple circles under our eyes because we were hung over.
lilya had invited me to go to the racetrack with her boyfriend and some friends. i get a trill out watching the cars speed past me, the whole experience gets me going.
i reluctantly get up to shower. i enter my bathroom, "jeez" i whisper under my breath. i look like shit. i turn the water on and step into my shower.
after my shower i dry my hair and put on a beige cargo skirt and a brown leather jacket. lilya helps me put a small braids on each side of my hair. for shoes i lace up my adidas campuses. lilya doesn't even bother to take off her makeup from last night, she just touches it up. she wears a pair of ripped jean shorts, levi 501s to be specific and a leather racing jacket. her blond hair compliments her olive skin. i spray on my cherry perfume and pop a piece of bubblegum in my mouth and in my leather bag i put a lighter, some cigarettes, perfume, my flip phone, and pack of original bubblegum.
"so what's the racetrack we're going to again? and how are we getting there?" i ask lilya. "well it's called adria international raceway, aka AIR. it's super cool, most famous people and high status nascar drivers go there. my boyfriend matteo and his friends are picking us up in a bit. "sounds good." i say. my hangover is still pretty bad but i can't resist a night out. me and lilya smoke a cigarettes outside my apartment while we wait for matteo to come and get us. it's about 6:00 now, and 90 degrees. matteo speeds onto the side of the rode and we hop in his ferrari. he is accompanied by me and lilya's friends Katelyn, Katrina, francie, Lukas, and adrian. i sit on katrina's lap since it's crowded.
as we speed through the autobahn, crystal castles blasts on the speakers and my hair is caught in the wind. i soak in this euphoric feeling. we pull into the race track and find a spot on the bleachers close to the racetrack. Matteo has friends that race so we get good spots. i sit on right of Katrina and lilya. 20 minutes has past. over the speaker, the race caller anounces, "willkommen to adria international racetrack. he is calls out all the racers as they line up. 1..2..3.. go! the race caller announces over the loud speaker. i pop the bubblegum in my mouth as i watch the cars speed past me. the wind catches my hair. i smell of gasoline, bubblegum, and cherry.
a hour has past since the race started. lilya and katrina went off to get some food and talk to the hot racer guys on the side lines. i stay and stand up to flim on my disposable camera. my brunette bangs blow in the wind and i can see my skin start to tan. i blow the bubblegum in my mouth. to my right, a man with black hair and eyeliner stands  beside me. i turn my head, while still blowing my gum. he had a perfect side profile, and smelled of a sultry vanilla and gasoline. "im bill" he says. his eyes on the racetrack. "rumi" i reply. "first time here?" he asks. "first time at AIR." but not my first time at the races. i say. i turn my camera off to stop filming and put it in my bag. he turns his head to look at me. "nice jacket you have on" he complimentes me. "thanks, i like your outfit. i say." his eyes are a dark brown, his skin is pale. he's wearing jeans and a leather jacket. he smiles back at the compliment. "who u here with?" he asks. "some of my friends. i point to matteo, francie, luka and adrian who are passing a bottle of vodka around. my other friends lilya, katrina and katelyn went to get food.
bills pov
she smells of bubblegum, cherry and gasoline. it attracts me, a feeling of euphoria rises against me as her scent blows in the wind. her brunette hair and wispy bangs flow through the wind. my brother tom and band mates gustav and georg are flirting with the girls over on the far middle of the bleachers. i pull out a cigarette and take a puff. "my brother n band mates are over there" i say. "band mates?" she asks. "yeah, heard of tokio hotel?"
rumis pov
holy shit. i'm so hungover i didn't even realize i was talking to THE bill kaulitz from tokio hotel. i act calm and try to pretend i don't really know him. "shit, yeah ive heard of you guys, i love your music!" i say trying not to freak out. "thanks, he says warmly blowing out his cigarette smoke.
lilya, katrina, and katelyn come back. when they see that i'm with bill, they siltenly try not to freak out. "bill, this is lilya, kat, and katelyn, i indrodude them. "yes, we know who you are, kat laughs." bill smiles. "nice to meet you girls." the girls and the rest of my friends stand by me and bill getting drunk off of vodka. "wanna meet my brother tom and my band mates?" bill suggests. "yeah sure!" i reply. we walk on the side line to where they are. i watch bills side profile as he walks. something about him just gets me going.

John Goodman
Tumblr media
Physique: Average Build Height: 6'2" (1.88 m)
John Stephen Goodman (born June 20, 1952 -) is an American actor who rose to prominence in television before becoming an acclaimed and popular film actor. Goodman has received numerous accolades including a Primetime Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Vanity Fair has called him "among our very finest actors." TV fans, Goodman will always be Dan Connor from the hit sitcoms Rosanne and The Conners. Yet for film fans, he will forever be Walter Sabchak of the cult classic The Big Lebowski.

Through the years, the Affton, MO native could be seen in Always and heard in The Emperor’s New Groove movies, the Monsters, Inc. franchise and The Jungle Book 2. And while he enjoyed mainstream success with Roseanne and box office hits The Babe, Barton Fink and Everybody’s All-American he maintained an "bear/chub" fan base as a perennial favorite in shows Normal, Ohio. Even popping up in the Oscar-winning Best Pictures like The Artist and Argo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not bad for a frat boy who earned a football scholarship to Missouri State University. Alas, the sporty stud failed to score many nude scenes. But there are a couple where Goodman makes good. In the R-rated rom-com Everybody’s All-American, the shirtless actor relaxes in his underwear while drinking a beer. No doubt, those who fancy a man with some meat on his bones will get a bone! If that’s not arousing enough, in Alpha House featured John’s bare chest and his body double’s nude booty. Apparently John’s too big of a star to display his full moon!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently, married for over 30 years with one child, Goodman was arguably the most successful big-guy actor in Hollywood playing characters that make us swoon. And consequently he was a first crush for thousands of young bears and chasers around the world. In recent years, John has lost a lot of weight, but he’ll always be my top chub no matter what.

Nissan GT-R 50 by Italdesing (1 of 19).
The R35 Nissan GT-R reshaped the supercar world when it arrived on the scene back in 2009. Twin-turbocharged, all-wheel drive and packing a quick-shifting dual-clutch, the GT-R would become a blueprint that almost every supercar manufacturer would copy moving into the current decade. The GT-R50 first arrived as a concept vehicle back in 2018, marking the dual 50th anniversaries of the GT-R nameplate, as well as the design house Italdesign before 2019. The concept merged the R35’s technical ability with some design influences from the days gone by of the auto industry, borrowing heavily from Italy in the process. The concept was met with such excitement that Nissan actually committed to building a limited run of the cars, with production volume officially capped at 50 units. This particular example is number 11 in the run, though the listing sellers at  claim that only 19 examples were ever produced. Considering it took the automaker so long to close the order books, it is possible that demand never reached that 50-unit goal. Starting under the hood, the GT-R50 packs a modified variant of the familiar 3.8-liter VR38DETT V-6. Upgraded turbos are pulled right off the GT3 racer and combined with higher-flow injectors, larger intercoolers, and a reworked intake to provide more power. An updated crankshaft, pistons, and connecting rods bolster high-horsepower engine health. The end result is 710 hp and 585 lb-ft of torque, significantly more than the range-topping NISMO’s 600 hp and 481 lb-ft rating. Power is sent to the wheels via a reworked six-speed dual-clutch transmission, while adaptive Bilstein dampers handle the suspension duties.

Soft launching the list of games that I would personally, obsessively, recommend to anyone interested in game writing & narrative design.
When I threatened to do this months ago I did commit to more detail (at least: time to play, mechanical complexity, etc., not so much describing what I find narratively significant about them) so I'll probably work on that

☼ ♦️☯️ and ☠️ for Ellington
☼ - appearance headcanon
I don't have any particular appearance in mind for Ellington during ATWQ and post-canon. I honestly see any image or see what people use, and I go, "Yeah, I can see it." That being said...
Tumblr media
I like to think Adult!Ellington dons the short bob for some time in her early twenties. Adult!Ellington I feel no longer keeps her hair long as she did when younger, and the bob was the shortest it ever got.
Image: Christina Ricci as Trixie from Speed Racer (2009)
♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon
Pre-canon, when Ellington was a little girl, she had the small quirk of curling her hair whenever it's in braids upward, usually when asking questions. This quirk doesn't exists anymore post-canon
Post-canon, Ellington gains the hobby of singing, usually to herself or those she feels truly comfortable with. Ellington has a pretty good singing voice; it's a rather deep, almost like a contralto, but really, she lies on the mezzo-soprano vocal range.
☯ - likes/dislikes headcanon
Not including her dislike for VFD the organization (Ellington has no problems with independent volunteer fire departments; they exist in my headcanon world and that deserves its own post). Ellington gains the dislike of the word 'lemony', and would prefer it if one uses 'sour', 'tart', or 'citrus-y' in her presence (which is funny, for she likes citrus-y flavor foods).
Ellington also has a minor dislike for frogs and toads in their pollywog larval stage. She knows it's a irrational dislike, but seeing them has her thinking of the 'tadpoles' from her time back in Stain'd-by-the-Sea.
☠ - angry/violent headcanon
Ellington whenever angry, always tries to find an excuse to be alone. When alone, she finds her starting to crying, and she does her best to make sure no one hears her. Sometimes if circumstances allow it, she cries with a pillow in her arms, and she grips it tight as if she's going to pull it apart. She gotten into the belief that it's better to cry when angry than other means that could hurt someone.
Really, Ellington tries her best to steer clear away from violence. What happened on The Thistle of the Valley made her...well, she's not a pacifist, but Ellington would prefer to use violence as a last resort. And she gotten her buttons pushes once or twice that had her almost throwing hands.
@volunteerfelinedetectives thank you for the ask! I'm sorry it took long to answer (busy day I had, I hope you understand).

Animated Movie of the Day: RedLine (2009)
When it comes to thrills, nothing beats a good race. The heart pumping speed is always felt through the sound of the wheels violently scraping by the asphalt, all while the contestants just slip by the grip of death at every sharp turn in the hopes of gaining just enough distance to keep the lead. Something Sweet JP knows very well. A passionate racer that ended in debt when starting his career, now he's in the business of fixing races by deliberately losing them. But just once, he wishes to win. Not just any race either, but the RedLine: the biggest, craziest, most dangerous ilegal race in the galaxy. And along the way of pursuing this dream, he finds himself meeting back the one girl who convinced him it was OK to have that dream years ago.
It's quite the understatement to say style runs the show here. While there is more to the story than a illegal race with humans and aliens, as well as some absolutely batshit vehicle designs (with even more absurd pilots to match) where everyone drives at speeds that make The Fast and the Furious films feel like Thomas the Tank Engine… yeah, you can easily see what the true appeal of the film is in that sentence alone. Truly, Madhouse and Takeshi Koike (known for his work on The Animatrix and Lupin the III: Fujiko Mine's lie) effectively go to town with the visuals by conveying everything from the breakneck speed of the action to the over the top style of the cast in the most extra way possible. It's a meme among fans that it took 7 full years to make this one but, goddamit, it truly shows.
It flopped when it first released, which is one of those nail in the coffin moments for hand drawn animation on a big scale. Such a shame too; it's absolutely an absolutely hotblooded, passionate, and admittedly more than a little horny affair at points that just screams animation for animation's sake

Gloucester, England is best known for its cathedral, but it ought to be known as well for a marvelous little tradition dating back at least 600 years.
Every year on the last Monday of May (formerly on Whit Monday, now every Spring Bank Holiday), the people of Brockworth flock to Cooper’s Hill in Gloucester for the Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake.
The event is simple: a 7-9 lbs. wheel of Double Gloucester (a semi-hard cheese like cheddar) is rolled from the top of the 200 yard hill. With only a one second head start, the wheel of cheese is then pursued by enthusiastic runners down the hill, each hoping to be the first to either catch the cheese or cross the finish line, either victory awarding them the rolléd cheese as their prize.
The event was semi-formally regulated by locals until 2009, when it was officially cancelled. However, love for the tradition is such that a smaller informal Cheese-Rolling was held the next year anyway, and in 2011 a “Save the Cheese Roll” campaign brought some 500 people out to race even without management. Despite the lack of paramedics, no one was injured. And despite being cancelled during the start of the COVID pandemic, the intrepid cheese rollers of Brockworth were back at it again starting in 2022. It is so popular that foreign runners started participating and winning as early as 2004, and people have come from as far as the US, Canada, New Zealand, Belgium, Australia, Egypt, and Japan to take part.
The event, while hilarious good fun and exercise, does not come without risk. In rolling down the steep 200 yard slope, the cheese can reach speeds of up to 70 mph, and enough spectators have been summarily… erm, creamed… by it that in 2013, the cheese wheel was replaced by a wheel of foam for health and safety reasons. Though absent in 2011, paramedics from local St John Ambulance brigades are on hand to administer first aid. Additionally, volunteers from the local rugby club and Young Farmers Club are stationed to catch racers who stumble at the bottom, as well as to carry down those who fall partway up.
This last point was of particular prominence during the most recent Cheese-Rolling on May 29th of this year. A lad from Wellington who flew in to run took a rather spectacular fall just feet from the finish line, and managed to tumbleweed his way right into the arms of a strapping young member of the Brockworth RFC. Witnesses claim that the chemistry was immediate and palpable, with both young men seemingly melting into one another at once with shy chuckles and much blushing, marking 2023 as the year of the first ever meet-charcute.

5 Sleeper Cars You Never Considered
5. 1997-1999 W210 Mercedes Benz E300 TurboDiesel
We’re starting this list with a lesser known beast, at least in North America. From 1997-1999, Mercedes Benz produced the W210 E300 Turbo Diesel, featuring the OM606, inline 6, turbocharged diesel making a whopping 170 horsepower and 240lb-ft of torque. Granted, it may not be much of a sleeper in stock form, but the W210 E300TD hides a monster underneath it’s hood. Daimler’s OM606 in turbocharged form is known to reliably make big power, and is colloquially known as the diesel 2JZ. Simple mods, like a piggy back ECU, can easily unlock up to an extra 100 horsepower and torque; while more impressive, big turbo builds are known to get into the 600 club with ease.
While more common in Europe and Asia, a sedan variant of the W210 E300TD was brought to the US, and can be found anywhere from $6,000-$10,000 in 2023 depending on mileage and condition. Values are starting to climb as the aftermarket community is realizing the tuning potential of these robust engines, so I’d keep a keen eye out for a good deal on one before they become subject to the drift tax.

Made for just a single model year, the Chevrolet HHR SS Panel Van is on the short-list for becoming a collector car. Largely a product of the age of the nostalgic, classic recreations of the early 2000s, GM found it fitting to add the proven Cobalt SS powertrain to the HHR platform. Featuring the familiar, 260 horsepower, 260lb-ft torque, Ecotech Turbo-4 and 5-speed manual, the HHR SS was a sleeper right out of the box. Factoring in the significant aftermarket support, the practicality of a panel van was the pièce de résistance of the HHR platform.
With the HHR SS Panel being sold only in 2009 and in extremely low quantities, it’s a challenge to find any for sale. Don’t be surprised to see figures over $20,000 for a decently maintained example.

3. 2019 Buick Regal GS
While not the “sportiest” option on this list, the 2019 Buick Regal GS offered a middle-of-the-road option in the mid-size sport sedan class. With a 3.6 liter V6 making 310 horsepower and 282lb-ft of torque mated up to a 9-speed automatic driving all four wheels, it wasn’t exactly a slouch. From the factory, it offers 5.4 second 0-60 sprints, making it a solid stoplight racer. Its Buick nameplate, poor marketing, and lack of aftermarket support led to few sales, and even fewer knowing the significance of the “GS” badging. This makes for an ideal, under-the-radar sleeper.
Being a newer model on this list, it’s not uncommon to find a Regal GS selling for over $30k, especially with lower mileage.

2. 2017-2020 Lincoln MKZ 3.0TT AWD/2017-2019 Ford Fusion Sport
The Lincoln MKZ 3.0TT AWD and Ford Fusion Sport share a spotlight on this list, just as they shared most everything else. Built on the same platform, there are only a few key differences between the models. The 2017-2019 Fusion Sport was largely a parts bin special, featuring brakes from the Ford Edge Sport, adaptive suspension from the shared MKZ, and Ford’s widely used 2.7 twin turbo, Ecoboost V6 driving all four wheels. This produced an impressive 325 horsepower and 380lb-ft of torque, competent handling, and total sleeper status as the general public would struggle to find the difference between the Sport, and the Fusions on their local rental car lot. The MKZ took it a step further, though, using Ford’s 3.0 twin turbo V6, cranking out 400 horsepower and matching torque from the factory. Similar to the Fusion, the MKZ 3.0TT AWD is hard to separate from its hybrid and lower trims commonly used for Uber Black, but it’s proven itself to be a straight line beast. From the factory, the MKZ would hit 60mph in 5 seconds flat, and on to a 13.5 second quarter mile. With just a few supporting mods and a tune, these cars make enough power to shave a full second off of those times with ease, provided you don’t snap an axle on the launch. If you’re a glutton for torque steer, the engineers at Ford thought it’d be fun to offer the same, 3 liter, twin turbo, V6 powertrain with front wheel drive, albeit with 50 less horsepower.
Being produced until 2020, the MKZ is another newer entry on the list, and prices tend to range from $25k-40k depending on mileage, trim, and options. While offering fewer luxury features, the Fusion Sport is typically more budget friendly, ranging from $18k-30k.

1. 2007 Mercedes Benz R63 AMG
Yes, Mercedes Benz earned two spots on this list, but I assure you, this is well deserved. While it’s up for debate as to what car segment the R-Class belongs to, it’s commonly referred to as a minivan. Having three rows of seats, a slightly elevated driving position, and being optimized for luxurious family cruises, it’s hard to imagine how this made it to the number one spot on our list. Enter the R63 AMG. The mad scientists in Stuttgart crammed the iconic 6.2 liter, naturally aspirated, M156 V8 under the hood. It made 503 horsepower and 465lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels via the AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic 7 speed transmission. Despite being a heavyweight at over 5000lbs, the R63 rocketed you and your 5 additional passengers and their luggage to 60mph in around 4.5 seconds. Aside from the AMG badging, the R63 is as inconspicuous as they come, that is until the roar of the V8 comes screaming past you at over 7,000RPM.
Finding an R63 is tricky. With only 200 made for one model year, they tend to sell between $30-$50k according to the listings on Bring a Trailer.

His unrivaled technical skills, natural speed ability and cool, karate-inspired attitude make him a powerful contender too." His car also carries the flag of Grenada, home to his family who emigrated to Britain in the 1950s. With his striking metallic black and yellow paint scheme, Lewis will represent Great Britain at the World Grand Prix. Today, the celebrated native Brit continues to bring an exceptional work ethic and soft-spoken confidence to the race course where his extraordinary achievements speak for themselves via a spotless track record on the junior and professional circuits. Like all youngster cars, Lewis spent his childhood going to school, taking karate lessons and winning the British Karting Championship by the age of 10.
" Lewis Hamilton, the famously sleek and seriously fast #2 Grand Touring Sports champion, has been a determined and winning racer for nearly his entire young life.
He is friendly towards his opponents, and appears to have a close friendship to Lightning McQueen, as well as Jeff Gorvette and his replacements. Lewis is humble about his victories, and does not brag to others, unlike Francesco. He has a spoiler with yellow and black, as well as the World Grand Prix logo, on it. He has the number 2 painted on his doors, inside of a badge with his country and Grenada's flags and the WGP logo. He is painted completely black with yellow lining on his sides. Lewis' engine is a DOHC V-8, with a horsepower of 575. He has a top speed of 190 mph, and a 0-60 of 3.4 seconds. However, Lewis is modeled after a McLaren MP4-12C GT3, although he has some slight differences, notably in the appearance of his rear lights. In Cars 2: The Video Game, Lewis can only be found in the PSP version of the game, as an opponent during races.ĬARS 2 - Lewis Hamilton - Disney Pixar - Only at the Movies June 23Īccording to Meet the Cars Lewis is a 2009 Grand Touring Sport Special GBG. In the race, he and Jeff were in each other's positions, which he talks with Jeff while lining up, and raced beside him. After that, he raced in Radiator Springs. After the racers race through the Admiralty Arch he was seen in the 3rd position, passing Miguel. When the race begins, he was seen in the 4th position behind Miguel Camino.

Before the London race, Lewis was seen with Jeff laughing at Mater and McQueen in Mater's flashback. When the pileup of cars starts during the Italy race, Hamilton and Gorvette stop to avoid being hit and are the only racers to be able to do so, which he along with Jeff were the only cars who did not crash into Shu Todoroki, and a few of the racers who did not get hit by the Lemons' electromagnetic pulse generator. Lewis was seen at the Porto Corsa race behind Jeff Gorvette. He is then seen at the race, which he appears in all three. He then later appears with the other World Grand Prix racers when Mater is drinking from the fountain after having too much wasabi, which he thought was pistachio ice cream. When they notice Mater talking to Zen Master, he was wondering who he was with. In Cars 2, he first appears talking with Lightning McQueen and Jeff Gorvette when they arrive at the World Grand Prix opening ceremony in Tokyo, which he and Jeff meet McQueen. We had a great time sending pictures back and forth and sharing notes." He wanted the car to be black with yellow pinstriping, and he picked the wheels. His emblem combines the Union Jack and the flag of Grenada – which is on his actual helmet. Producer Denise Ream said: "He was very particular about what he wanted. Lewis Hamilton was directly involved in the design of his character, (and was also the only voice actor to do so): at his suggestion, the gray design was abandoned (and apparently passed on to Prince Wheeliam) and changed to the final yellow-striped black paint job, with different wheels. It seems that the gray color was chosen after the colors of the McLaren racing team. He had a grayish paint job with a ghost pattern of Union Jack, and wheel trims shaped after the Union Jack, exactly as the final design of Prince Wheeliam. Originally, Lewis was to be named Lewis Revington.

Hamilton chose the car’s final black and yellow paint scheme for the car in the movie. Lewis is based on, named after and voiced by the real British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton.

Ferrari LaFerrari 'Signal Green' (for six years it was owned by Jay Kay.  For sale in 2019).
Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show as a replacement for the Enzo, the Ferrari LaFerrari was a technological tour de force that took the world by storm. Maranello's first production model to be equipped with a hybrid power unit, the sixth-generation hypercar was the fastest and most powerful road-going Ferrari ever. It was, and remains, one of the greatest achievements in the marque's 75-year history.
Compared to contemporaries such as the Porsche 959 and Bugatti EB110, the first Ferrari hypercars had been conservative designs. For all their astonishing pace, the 288 GTO and F40 had lacked headline innovation, focusing instead on a back-to-basics ethos of minimal weight and colossal power. With the subsequent F50, the Prancing Horse had abandoned the traditional spaceframe in favor of a more futuristic carbon fiber tub, but there was little else to whet the appetite of techno freaks. Its successor, the Enzo, upped the technological ante. The first Ferrari hypercar to feature an automated paddle-change transmission and active aerodynamics, it represented a radical leap compared to the outgoing F50. The Enzo was an up-to-the-minute interpretation of what a flagship sports car should be all about. And then along came the game changer.
Based around a carbon fiber monocoque designed by F1 technical director Rory Byrne, the Type F150 LaFerrari adopted an enhanced version of KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), which had been used in Grands Prix since 2009. Like any other hybrid set-up, KERS employed electric motors in addition to a traditional petrol engine. With an electric motor delivering maximum torque from zero rpm, the benefits included noticeably stronger acceleration. Kimi Räikkönen had emphatically proven this in Formula 1 when his KERS-equipped Ferrari stormed past Giancarlo Fisichella to win the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix—Fisichella attributing Räikkönen's win to the hybrid system.
Dubbed HY-KERS, the production version in the LaFerrari mated a 120-kilowatt motor to a 6,262 cc 65-degree V-12 to deliver quite extraordinary results. Delivering a combined 950 horsepower and 715 lb ft of torque through a seven-speed dual-clutch Getrag transmission, the car could accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a mere 2.9 seconds. The manufacturer claimed that 0-300 km/h could be dispatched in 15 seconds, while top speed was an astonishing 350 km/h. Even more startling, however, was the car’s pace around the Fiorano test track, where it was said to lap more than five seconds quicker than the Enzo. Such pace was in no small part down to the brilliance of the hybrid set-up. With HY-KERS taking care of low-down torque, the engine could be tuned for maximum power at high revs without the car becoming a temperamental prima donna. As a result, Ferrari engineers were able to produce an engine that was more potent than the Scuderia’s last V-12 single-seater, in a car able to cope with city traffic.
To ensure the thundering performance was accessible, electronic traction control was integrated with the hybrid system, and there was a third-generation electronic differential. The double-wishbone front- and multilink rear suspension was equipped with active damping, while the Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes measured a huge 398 mm at the front and 380 mm at the rear. The Pirelli P-Zero front tyres were an equally vast 265/30 R19, but were nonetheless dwarfed by the 345/30 R20 rears.
Drawing from the Grand Prix team’s expertise in computational fluid dynamics, the composite body continued the high-tech theme. Produced in-house alongside the Scuderia’s F1 racers, it was as aerodynamically efficient as it was beautiful. The vast scallops on each flank served to extract air from around the front wheels, increasing the downforce created by the active front diffuser, as well as channelling air to the rear-mounted radiators. A guide vane in the underbody automatically reduced flow to the front radiator to reduce drag, while dynamic air intakes on the haunches boosted ram effect for an additional 5 horsepower at speed. At the rear, a computer-controlled spoiler optimised drag and downforce, while dynamic diffuser flaps helped “suck” the car onto the road. This electronic gadgetry added up to 360 kilograms of downforce when cornering at 200 km/h, reducing it to 90 kilograms in a straight line at the same speed.
Remarkably, the carbon fibre monocoque boasted a 27 per cent improvement in torsional stiffness compared to the Enzo, yet was some 20 per cent lighter. In spite of the HY-KERS with its eight 15-cell battery modules, the LaFerrari was no larger than its predecessor, while the centre of gravity was lowered by 35 mm—providing further improvements to balance and stability. Visually, the whole was tied together into a tautly styled berlinetta that combined hints of classic racing icons such as the 330 P4 and 312 P with exciting flourishes from the modern Formula 1 era. In creating the LaFerrari body, form very much followed function, yet never has the application of science looked quite so stunning.
