Tamagotchi Original Sound Test Mode

Did you know that you can play any sound on the Tamagotchi Original on demand? There’s a feature within the programming called sound test mode. This feature is most likely used in manufacturing to test for quality and ensure units are working.

This can be activated by holding down “A” and “C’ buttons while pressing the reset button. There are a total of 17 sounds effects you can play. Once you’re done, to return back to your Tamagotchi, simply hit reset again, and your Tamagotchi will go back to normal!

Silence is the loudest in Oppenheimer (2023)

I am awe of the sound effects of this film. The sound, from when the scientists are in the process of creating bomb to the fateful day they test it, is suspenseful and loud. The day of its release are even more thrilling. But the best sound is in the most important scene of the film when the bomb successfully explodes in the testing site.

Just before his fellow scientist pushes down the button to generate the explosion, Oppenheimer says, "These things are hard in your heart." It's a difficult decision. Oppenheimer knows it like a Pandora box. But this statement also shows his awareness that the choice they are about to make has irreversible consequences, with the potential to destroy the world.

In these moments, the audience can hear the suspenseful sound getting faster and louder, as though it still reaching to the climax: the explosion. And yet, when the moment arrives when the bomb explodes, everything goes silent. It's the culmination of Oppenheimer's work and his team in the Manhattan Project, and yet the sound is gone.

Along with silence, that minute-long scene also slows down. This is effective in showing that the scene, a crucial one, isn't just an event but a historic one destined to change the world forever. It's capturing an important moment. These scientists aren't just witnessing the transition of the use of a new weapon but also a new, terrifying world. And it's a realization shared by those involved in the invention of the atomic bomb.

That's why silence used in the climactic moment is brilliant because it highlights their thoughts and realizations that are much louder than the sound of the bomb. It's their running thoughts as they watch the explosion, rather than the explosion itself, that is more important. In the midst of this silence, Oppenheimer concludes, "And now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." Here, he acknowledges that the transition is over and is already in that "new world" which he creates.

After contemplating this, he returns to reality and now hears the explosion and the impact of it, as though it foreshadows the imminent genocide that will take place in Nagasaki and Hiroshima in a few days.

Overall, Oppenheimer is a great movie that delves into the inevitable consequences symbolized by the sound of trains moving inexorably forward. However, it doesn't just reach a destination; it crashes down.

To me, even if Oppenheimer didn't do it, someone else would have. Nuclear war is our inevitable future because scientific advancement is unavoidable, along with humanity's propensity for power.

I'm not experienced with too much regarding sound profiles and require help from someone who actually does use it quite often.
