Sparta royal family headcanons?? Any generation.

I HAVE A LOT AND PROBABLY HAVE TO RESEARCH MORE BUT I DO!!!! >:D Thank you for the ask!!! *headbonks*

So we don't know much info with Hippocoon and how that went down yet other than basics YET or if I plan for him to be a half-brother to Icarius and Tyndarius. BUt Icarius and Tyndarius are opposites in that Tyndarius is a worrywart and Icarius is just vibing most of the time. Tyndarius is also just dealing with more stuff...they're their generation's version of Agamemnon and Menelaus in a way with how one brother takes a lot of the brunt for the other except both have a happy ending :'D )

Also, neither are the best fighters as while Sparta was pretty big on military they were exiled for a bit. Another thing with them, being half-naiad, (and being surrounded by others like them), it makes it kind of easy to tell when one of your kids is fucking with one of your advisors as they can feel the water being moved as well. It's harder for Icarius though as his children are more naiad than him. It's easy for Tyndarius as Clytemnestra is less naiad than him. Kind of go into that here, just not with the specific family dynamics :D Also might change some things

I didn't plan for naiads and naiad-born to really have scales but now I'm kind of coming around to it because I just KNOW Tyndarius picks at them and Leda has to do the whole "stop that". (might have to redo that post I did on naiads because of it, or maybe just have a poll just for the homies :P might be skin colored and just be different skin texture. idk for sure) Also while Icarius and his whole family are pretty okay about water and spend a lot of time in the water as Periboea is a Naiad and all his children are 3/4th naiad, Tyndarius often forgets that he needs to get into the water every once in a while. Leda doesn't technically need it and his children are only 1/4th so they don't need it as often.

Leda: Dear, when was the last time you went for a swim? You've been looking over those tablets for a while, I'll take over. loosely based on clay records found at Knossos :P I think they're neat. LINEAR B, BITCHES! Tyndarius: Oh, it has been a bit! Let me finish this one up before I do. Leda, getting annoyed at him scratching at himself just dumps a pot of water over him: Better? Tyndarius: Yeah, actually! :D

It's...sometimes a bit of a problem when you're a person who needs to be damp often and two of your children kind of always have a lot of static electricity :'D

I know Leda and Tyndarius have affection for one another, but I don't really have a plan for how they got together :P I DO kind of for Icarius and Periboea though! :D All I know is that Icarius being a runner, it's really funny to me to think this guy, being half-naiad, just fucking RUNS on water for funsies, which annoyed Periboea when he's back from exile. Plan for them to have a pretty happy marriage, though sadly, that's not the case for all their children :') and that's part of the reason why he tries to get Penelope to stay in Sparta as he's overprotective of them all while also desperately not wanting them to have feuds like what happened to him and Tyndarius.

Lil bit of spoiler but...Hermione was 5 years old when her mom was kidnapped and she was a bit traumatized by it. :') as she kind of got to see it happen

#I know she was 9 in most things but to keep certain timeline things with the Odyssey with Penelope and the suitors :P #As they talk about her 'bearing them children' if she were 29 when war happened and 20 years later 49. she probably couldn't #have children anymore at that point. and as another person who doesn't really care for HUGE agegaps (no lore olympus persephone and hades #here! >:( ) I made Hermione 5 instead so then Penelope would've been around 45 so it's more likely to fit what the suitors said #while still not having a huge age gap! :D #Mad rambles #ask #sorry it took a bit!!! #boueibu #because of how the japanese school year works S2 E10 has to take place on Feb 28/29 #because Binan Land closes at the end of the month and Ep 9 took place on Valentines day #at the end of Ep 10 the club comes back to Kurotama and finds that Goura is gone #so this calendar gives us two options: Kinshirou was being haunted since February and it took 2+ weeks for him to send the email #or this is March and Goura has been missing for 2 weeks (and the twins have just...... not done anything)#(option C: it's still the beginning of march and kinshirou's bad luck caused him to rip the calendar to this page)#sorry i am way too fixated on little details like this xD #(on a side note there was indeed a Feb/March Friday the 13th in 2015)#(so assuming aliens haven't messed with the calendar in boueibu verse boueibu took place over the 2014-2015 school year xD)

the start.

growing up , yulia’s parents made sure she was never aware of their struggles — and struggle they did , especially for the first few years of her life . it started with her father being laid off after an injury left him unable to work , leaving them with no choice but to put what should’ve been their forever home up for sale just before yulia was born . he was eventually able to find a desk job but the pay was minimal at best and because her mother was newly postpartum at the time , he insisted she didn’t work .

despite the financial hardships that followed , the moving around that continued years after yulia was born , the whispered arguments they’d have after putting her to bed , they eventually got to a point where they could rest easy . her dad had a corporate job and her mom worked from home to make raising her a little easier on the both of them and , all things considered , they were finally in a good place .

yulia was young when she first fell in love with music and singing and she made sure everyone knew it . if she wasn’t belting out a whitney or mariah song , she was writing terrible lyrics in her journal or borrowing her aunt’s karaoke machine for weeks at a time . it got to a point where her dad was buying her new notebooks every week and when he realized she wanted to take singing seriously , he signed her up for vocal lessons .

high school was mostly uneventful for her and outside of a short lived relationship , yulia focused on her schoolwork more than anything . her parents made sure she knew that as long as she put in effort and didn’t flunk any of her classes , they’d support her dream of singing wholeheartedly . she did as they asked and they kept their word , even packing up their things and moving to new york so she’d have a better chance at becoming a singer like she wanted .

it was around this time that yulia started posting singing covers to youtube , ranging from ballads like i have nothing and a natural woman to r&b classics like 4 page letter and next lifetime . she gained a decent amount of viewers from it but it wasn’t until after she’d graduated that her dad recorded her singing an original song at an open mic night . after he convinced her to post it , things really took a turn .

first deal.

she was in her sophomore year of college when the video her dad posted blew up . it started doing numbers online and was shared around more than she ever expected so it was surprise to no one but her when she was approached by a reputable label . she attended a few very long meetings , met with a few different lawyers , and after one final emotionally charged meeting , yulia was signing her first record deal .

things were great until they weren’t . she got to write her own songs and record them , had a large role in preparing for her first few shows and eventually a tour but yulia learned the hard way that it was all too much too fast . going from a girl that blended into a crowd by choice to being on stage in front of thousands of people was something she wasn’t prepared for .

what started as stage fright before every show turned into her popping a pill or two to calm her nerves . being able to get through a concert without having a panic attack and without feeling high led her to believe she had it under control . little did she know , the people around her saw an opportunity and ran with it . a pill dropped into a coffee here , a little alcohol mixed with soda there and without even realizing it , yulia had become addicted .

it wasn’t until she was visiting her parents right after completing her first tour that she finally realizes something was wrong . her parents question her about her apparent change in attitude and yulia admits she used to take pills to help with anxiety . however , after learning she’d stopped doing so just weeks after she started , her mom requested she get tested just in case .

what came next was a long list of things yulia never imagined she’d have to deal with so early into her career , or ever for that matter . first she checked herself into rehab , having realized she was actually addicted to the stuff she thought she’d stopped taking long ago . when she was released , she spent months getting out of her contract with her label and while she was eventually successful in doing so , she wasn’t able to gain rights to her music ( something she’s still fighting for even today ) . the whole situation was thankfully kept out of the media , partially because her lawyer threatened lawsuits against anyone who spoke about it and partially because the label didn’t want the bad press .

at twenty two , yulia had already been through the ringer . she’d spent months in rehab , had seen the inside of a courtroom more than she’d ever planned to in her life , continued to struggle with addiction despite being clean . however , she managed to graduate from college with a degree and high honors , all while writing and recording the most personal songs she’d ever made .

her self titled sophomore album was released independently , to the surprise of everyone . it was well received , old fans and new ones appreciating how raw it sounded compared to her first album . shortly after the release , yulia was contacted by someone from revolution about possibly signing a deal and while she was hesitant at first , so much so that she didn’t give them an answer until a month later , she eventually decided it’d be good for her .

revolution.

her time at revolution records proves fruitful . from the creative freedom to the support she’s received in the seven years she’s been there , yulia is glad she didn’t let past experiences get in the way of a good thing . she’s eleven years into her career now . though she has six albums in total , she’s working on her fifth one as a revolution artist . she’s often cited saying she feels nothing but gratitude for her label and that she hopes anyone trying to join the music industry is as lucky as her .

everything that happened with her first label is still a secret to the public but the lyrics from her sophomore album and the albums that followed have alluded to it . she doesn’t know when or if she’ll come out about the entire thing but yulia has made it a point to take new artists under her wing , letting them know that should something happen , they’ll always have someone in their corner .

personality.

making other people laugh is free serotonin to yulia . she loves to joke around , play ( harmless ) pranks on people , and just do what she can to put a smile on people’s faces . the older she gets , the less patience she has and it can occasionally translates to her being snappy or short with people . yulia is very easy to talk to . she’s a people person through and through and it shows in her friendly demeanor . as much as she loves to be surrounded by others , whether they’re talking or just hanging out in comfortable silence , she doesn’t actually say anything personal unless you’ve been close for years . she is always on the defense , the need to protect herself remaining strong after what happened with her first label . as much as she loves love in any form , yulia can be very fickle . she doesn’t let herself get close to people that often , preferring to bow out gracefully instead of opening herself up to possible heartbreak or betrayal .

headcanons.

she has a three year old rottweiler she adopted named toothless . he came from a bad place originally and while yulia wasn’t planning on actually adopting , she knew his age and his breed were working against him . yes he has teeth , though he is missing two on the bottom .

she wants kids so bad . she’s known her whole life that she wanted a big family , especially considering she was an only child . yulia wants kids so much she’s seriously contemplating going on hiatus so she can adopt or something .

she used to spend her summers in russia with her extended family and while she obviously can’t spend that much time there at once anymore , she still likes to go often .

sorry if i've been quiet, the anxieties have me.

but I have therapy tomorrow :) so hopefully things only go up from here.

#vent (kinda- happy ending) in the tags #filling in spaaace filling in spaaace #uh when i say “quiet” i mean like. in general over the past year #this time last year i was convinced i was going to die- among other things #the fact i'm still here is something i'm thankful for every day #something does not want me alive and every day i'm here is my way of giving whatever the fuck that is the middle finger #i'm here and i'm alive so fucking deal with it #that said; my mental state has been fuuuuuuuucked #also this time last year i was trying to recover from a really traumatic experience that lasted for 9 months #i'm still not recovered from it actually not even fucking close #i'm finally getting to a place where i feel that i can start talking about it (not to randos online tho sorry) but it took ages #but just knowing that the anniversary of it being “over” is coming up is like. doing something to me.#i still have a month- that anniversary is in August but like. shit.#this is why i haven't been uploading art like i used to when i was in the su fandom #i've been drawing slower and less frequently #and the art i do draw i don't always post (which was true even back then i probably only posted half of what I drew)#so i know that- at least back then- people have been worried about my sudden slowing down of artwork. this is why.#that said i've slowly been getting back into it. i actually got the urge to write today while i was at work (tho it faded when i got home)#which is a huge improvement #i am doing better!#the askblog has been helping a lot actually #even if it... does remind me of a different time (before everything went to shit). but like i think that's *why* it helps y'know?#but it also gives me a lot of anxiety so i can't do it all the time #my anxiety in general has gotten really fucking bad over the last month and a half and i'm not sure why. like it's always been there but.#but now it's like a hunched beast and literally appears out of nowhere #at least before i was always pretty sure what was causing it but now i have no idea #but thats what the therapy is for. that and the trauma fdgshajk #no doubt the two are linked probably #but soon i'll be better. soon i'll be able to move forward on all the projects i wanna work on #soon i'll be free y'know?

Y'know who is on that list though that even I didn't expect but cannot find flaws in it? Sicard. Those two are on such extremely similar wavelengths and I think that alone would spike him up there actually, I think they understood each other so fast. (Oh no, the worms)

this is redonkulously late and im so sorry but i don't really know that I can do a tutorial of how I draw backgrounds? I mostly colorpick 😂 I generally just google the bg I want or use my own photo references for bgs. i highly suggest using a reference, but that's really all I can offer- there's no better way to understand a background than looking at one and deicing what aspects you want to simplify and what you want to maintain the detail of.

25. best scene you havent yet written, but have an idea for?

context i guess?? seth goes to a seer to ask about his family. a seer (fortune teller thats actually legit, though they are quite vague and sometimes misleading) tells seth that he can find his family in a church down the street, he hasnt seen his family in YEARS, and he KNOWS his bio family is dead, so whats the seer up to?

(under the cut cuz it got long sorry)

seth (element of darkness) goes into a church building. the walls are wooden, with a red-purple carpet adorning the floor. seth is slowly but surely stepping towards where an altar would be, but instead theres a curtain covering the stage (idk what its called... yknow how in a church you go up some stairs and theres the altar and everything??? idk) the curtains a pale purplish blue. he grips the curtains, and tears them back, revealing a man writing something at a desk. the man looks up, and his eyes widens at seth. seth immediately summons shadows around him, getting into defensive.

the man stares at him, before raising his hand in greeting. "hello, are you alright?" seth makes the shadows recede, not realizing he had gone defensive. "im f-fine. i was, uh, told by a seer that my... family, uhm, would be here? who are you? you... are, uhm... well, uh, not who im trying to find." the man chuckles, eyes softening in understanding.

"my name is timothy. this church is now my home, as it was abandoned many years ago. and a seer, you say? you are aware that they mislead you, if they so desire?" timothy, a man in his middle ages with grey in his otherwise thick brown hair, plays with a clock hes working on. seth places his hand together, looking pensive.

"ah...then, uhm... i've been f-fooled? thats... i spent a few coins for that..." timothy looks at him. "how old are you, young man?" "i'll be turning, uhm, 21 in the fall, sir." timothy nods. "you remind me of my daughter. though... she's been missing... for quite a while now. she was quiet, and quite polite... i miss her, but i have not a clue where to start looking."

seth stared at him, memories of a fuzzy childhood coming to the forefront. "your...uhm, daughter? what...what was her name?" timothy paused his fiddling, face scrunching up. "sabrina... she disappeared when she was... oh, god, when she was 13. she... i should've been a better father. it's been 8 years and i never looked for her. i should have. i could have. i had all the time in the world, but..."

timothy paused his monolouge, noticing the pale face on seth. "oh! i apologize, you probably do not want to hear an old man ramble about missing children. you said you were trying to find your family?"

"sabrina. sabrina umbrud?" seth shakily asked, taking a step forward. "how... how did you know her last name? not just her last name, but mine as well. who are you?!" timothy reached for a screwdriver, eyes trained on seth's face.

"because, uh... i... i am... well, wow, this is..." seth fumbled over his words, looking around like the words would physically appear if he did. after a moment, seth blurted out, "do you know what transgender means?"

timothy looked bewildered, before his face morphed into understanding. "oh. is... are you implying what i think you are?"

seth nods quickly, shame creeping into his face. "i- yeah, i mean i- y'know, the hormones kind of changed my face, and i totally forgot about you, which, y'know, i REALLY shouldn't forget my own adoptive father, and-"

a hug interrupted him.
