#some parents lectured their daughter about drinking

Note
Hey could you maybe write some re8!chris parent headcanons with teen!daughter?💕
Of course! I love this idea. Here you go <3
Tumblr media
When Chris first found out he was going to be a father, he freaked out. He didn’t believe he was fit to be a father, and his job would make it pretty much impossible to be around.
Claire had to calm him down and make him see sense multiple times during the pregnancy, but he eventually realised how lucky he was, especially when you were born.
The first time he held you in his arms he was the happiest man alive and almost cried.
He’s actually a great dad!!
Always makes time for you the best he can with his work schedule.
Expect father-daughter dates at least once a week. Even if it’s just for a coffee. He doesn’t want to be an absent father.
Does sometimes worry he’s not being a good father but both you and Claire reassure him, although, it is mostly Claire as Chris doesn’t want to bother you or stress you with his problems.
Loves seeing you smile, it’s the highlight of his day so he always tries his best to make you laugh.
DAD JOKES FOR DAYS!!!
He’s always cracking terrible jokes to try and make you laugh to the point they just happen naturally now. He was trying really hard at first.
Hates watching you grow up, but he will always see you as his precious little girl.
Overly protective. You and Claire are the only family he has left, and he’ll be damned if he lets anything happen to you.
Speaking of Claire, she always takes you out when Chris is working. You two go on trips a lot and she looks after you when he’s away, even if you insist you don’t need her too; you’re his little girl, after all.
Chris puts you before his work and has left multiple times to come pick you up from school.
Will help you skip if you haven’t studied for a test (as long as it isn’t important) but will lecture you for not taking your schoolwork more seriously in the car.
Isn’t exactly strict with you, but he does have some rules in place. His main rule is no smoking. He knows what it does to your body and will not budge on this rule, even if he smokes.
He’s the cool dad. The one where he lets you and your friends drink (if you want to) at your house because he’d rather you do it there than in a field somewhere random where he can’t protect you.
Your friends have crushes on him, and you’re so grossed out by it.
Is really wary of any partners you bring home, no matter their gender. He doesn’t want to see you hurt and upset so he doesn’t trust them.
During your first breakup, he doesn’t know what to do and calls Claire for advice.
Eventually, he gives you a hug and you two sit and watch crappy films with ice cream all night.
Wants to kill your ex-partner but won’t for obvious reasons. The thought was there though, as well as the offer.
Gives you the safe sex talk as soon as you’re old enough. He doesn’t want anything bad to happen to you and will buy you condoms if you need them.
Isn’t awkward about buying you pads/tampons. You’re his baby girl and he’ll do anything for you.
Spoils you all the time and buys you basically anything you want (within reason).
Teaches you to drive to the best of his ability but ends up getting you lessons because he doesn’t trust himself to teach you properly. His job doesn’t exactly require legal driving techniques and good parking.
Has been putting money away your entire life into a savings account for when you’re an adult. There is a lot in there, more than you could imagine.
He worries he’s not there for you all the time due to work.
Is always anxious when he’s away from you and texts you every second he can (is a dry texter though).
Also calls to check how you’re doing whenever he’s free enough to do so.
Overall, just a great dad who tries his best (and succeeds).

We're A Family Part 15 (Steddie X You)
Tumblr media
Warnings With Some Notes: Dads Steddie and Mama Reader, Stevie gets yelled at by parents during a parent/teacher conference that Y/N overhears (the dad refers to her as a whore and slut a few times through out the story), these three do talk about having another baby which leads Steve to talking about his worry of people in the town, Daisy's dad causes a scene in their house, SMUT (spanking and slight overstimulation), fluff, and angst.
Dylan and Y/N talk about him and Ro not being planned. The men in the Munson-Harrington household all struggle with personal demons that are mentioned through out this story. They have grown though and know no matter what they can handle anything together <3.
Word Count: 5788
“What? Why are you looking at me that way?”
Kierra sighs as she shrugs before leaning back in the booth across from yours. “Y/N, you know I’m always on your side. No matter what. You’re my sister, my best friend, and I love the hell out of you. That being said…”, her eyes look up to meet your slightly annoyed ones. “I think what Steve is feeling is fair.”
You fold your arms as you pout while she continues.
“Come on. It’s not like he’s ever hid from you that he wanted more kids. You three had always talked about having another baby using his stuff, ya know? And of course, he’s thinking about it now because Aurora’s not technically a baby anymore. Dylan will be starting high school soon. His asshole father and our evil mother are always reminding him that biologically the kids aren’t his.”
“So this will fix that?!”
“Y/N…”
“And if we go by that logic we technically aren’t married. They remind him of that to. What, maybe, he needs an actual wife now.”
“Well, now you’re being ridiculous.”
“Don’t do that, Kierra. Don’t treat me like I’m mom!”
“That’s not what I’m doing and I know you know that.” You both exhaled as you took a long sip from the drink in your glass. “Y/N, he’s not…commanding…you to give him a kid right now. It sounds like he just wants to have a conversation about it. At least give Steve and Eddie that.”
“I’m sorry I snapped at you.”
She grins as she lightly kicks your leg under the table. “No worries. You know I still love you.”
***
“Hey, mom. What are you doing here?”, Dylan asked as you walked up to the school.
“Steve asked Ed to come get you because he has a meeting after school but he already had plans so alas, you get me.” He grins as you hand him your keys. “Go wait in the car and I’ll be right there, okay?”
You smile as you watch him run out the door before heading to Steve’s classroom.
“…and I’m not going sit here and be lectured by some deviant!”
The sound of someone yelling caused you to pause just outside his door.
“I’m not lecturing you, Mr. Osborne. I’m just trying to convey that your daughter seems to struggle a lot more with the material than others in class. She’s very smart. She just needs some extra help.”
“Oh, and are YOU going to pay for that, Mr. Harrington?! Especially since I know for a fact she doesn’t need any ‘extra help’. Maybe if you would focus on being a better teacher instead of that whore and freak maybe my child would be better educated.”
A chair rolled back as you heard Steve exhale angrily. “I think we’re done here.”
“Um, what about…Daisy’s grade.”, a woman asked.
There was a long pause before he finally answered. “Mrs. Osborne, she’s passing but not enough to get into those AP classes next year. If you and your husband insist on not finding a tutor or something that can help her…there’s not much more that I can do.”
“Maybe it’s time we talk to the principal.”, Mr. Osborne sneered.
“Maybe it is. I can give you his number and we can set up another meeting.”
The man mutters things under his breath as Mrs. Osborne offers a small thank you to Steve. Both parents exit the classroom coming face to face with you.
“Oh. Hey, Y/N. I…we…didn’t know you were, um, here.” You watch with angry eyes as her husband stalks past you down the hallway and out of sight. “Daisy had fun with Dylan at the dance. He sent me some pictures. They are so cute together!”
You subtly nod before crossing your arms. “Lori, did you know my son helps your daughter with her homework sometimes?” She blinks in your direction before shaking her head. “There are times when she comes over after school and they study together. Of course, they can’t do it all the time; Dylan having baseball and Daisy in gymnastics but… Those times he is able to help her? She gets a higher grade.”
“Steve’s right. She’s a smart kid. It’s just she seems to struggle to retain the information especially when she’s anxious. I wonder why that is.”
“LORI ANNE! Are you coming or not?!”, Mr. Osborne shouts down the hallway.
You shrug as you lean against the wall behind you. “But what would I know? I’m just the whore married to the freak and deviant.”
As soon as the sound of her heels disappear, Steve casually comes to lean in the doorway.
“That was good. Maybe you should be a teacher.”
“Naw. That was just my counseling degree you saw at work there. Dealt with a lot of parents like Daisy’s I’m afraid.” You glance in his direction taking note of how exhausted he looks. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m alright. What about you?”
“I’ve been better.” Steve immediately looks you over with concern. It’s one of the many things you love about them both; their concern and protectiveness of you. You imagined it took all his strength to not punch Daisy’s dad in the face for calling you and Eddie names.
“Is there anything I can do?”
“I was thinking that, maybe, the three of us could talk tonight about…you know.”
He sighed as he shoved his hands in his pockets and looked down at the floor. “We don’t have to. I mean, not much point if you can’t even say the word baby.”
“Steve, I’m trying here.”
“Yeah, I understand. It’s really fine, Y/N. Like I tried to tell you before. It’s just something I was thinking about. If you’re not ready it’s fine. We can wait. Look, I still have a couple of things to do before I can leave so…I’ll just see you back at home, alright.”
Before you can answer, he turns away from you and heads for his desk.
###########
“Ok, princess, let’s see what we get here.” Eddie rolls his D & D dice as Aurora sits at the little table Wayne made for her in her size while she picks at the snack on her plate.
“17. Alright.” He leans forward and grabs a note card from the vocabulary set Steve bought to help teach her words. It was the metalhead’s idea to put a spin on it, allowing him to grab a card at random. “What’s this?”
“Puppy!”
“Good job, my angel.” He rolls again and grabs the corresponding card.
“Girl.” Ro points to the image and then herself. “Rara girl.”
“Yes ma’am, you are.”
“Beep, beep.”, she mimics absently before taking a bite of her snack.
“Who’s that?”
She grins as Dylan comes around and ruffles her hair. “Din bra-der.”
“Is Dylan a boy or a girl?”
“Big boy.”
“Way to go, Ro. Mom, I’m going to go upstairs till dinner.”
You nod before coming to sit on the floor beside them and Eddie bends towards you to give you a kiss.
“Ew, daddy!”
“Hey, ew you, kid.”, he smiles as he gives you another peck. “Are you alright, baby?”
“Daisy’s parents were giving Steve hell when I showed up.”
“Sounds about right. I’ve never liked Nathan. He kind of reminds me of my father.”
“Yeah…I told Steve I thought the three of us should talk about the other night…”
“You mean when you freaked out about the idea of having another kid?” He laughed when you shot him a playful glare. “Honestly, sweetheart, not much point if you can’t even say the word.”
“I swear to God! Are you two on the same frequency or something??”
“Usually.”, he smiles. “I’m always open for a conversation.”
***
“Hey, weirdo.” You grin at him as he steps outside and sits beside you on the steps of the back porch. “How’s Daisy?”
“She’s…she’s ok. Upset but ok. She said her parents have been fighting all night.”
“I’m sorry, baby. You know she’s welcome over here anytime if she needs an escape.”
“How are you, mom?”
“I’m okay.” He raises his eyebrow at you making you laugh. “What?! I really am.”
“Liar.”
“Fine! Ya little pain in the butt.” Your smile slightly fades as you talk to him. “Steve wants to have another kid.”
“And you don’t?”
“I don’t know, weirdo. I mean, we all just got settled into this routine, we see each other a lot more than before. We’d have to move because I’m not going to make either of you share a room with a screaming baby.”
“I wouldn’t mind.”
“I know YOU wouldn’t but I would.” You quickly sneak a glance at your son before looking out into the yard. “How would you feel about another little one running around?”
“I think it would be cool. I was an only child for a while there so I wouldn’t mind more siblings in the house.” His concerned eyes shift over your frame, debating on if he should continue. “Ro and I were accidents, right?”
His question startled you as you turned to fully face your son. “No, Dylan. You and Aurora weren’t planned but you definitely were NOT accidents.”
“Yeah, no, I get that. I just… imagine how different it would be for you and our dads to plan one this time. You get to be excited for once instead of scared.”
“Dylan Marshall Y/L/N—”
“Ah.”, he cuts you off with a cute little smile. “It’s Munson-Harrington now. You have to scold me properly.”
You smirk as you narrow your eyes at him in jest. “Dylan Marshall Munson-Harrington.”
“There you go!”
You both laugh as you pull him into your arms. “Baby, I was ecstatic when I found out I was pregnant with you. Seriously. I fell in love with you the moment I saw your little blob on the ultrasound; you and Aurora.”
“We love you to, mom.”
“Don’t ever let me hear you say that you were an accident. You hear me?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
As you both reentered the house, Eddie was patting Ro’s back as she slept on his shoulder sucking her thumb while Steve stood at the sink washing the dishes from dinner. Dylan bid them a quick good night before heading up to his room.
Sighing, you drunk in the vision of the man in your kitchen. He still looked extremely exhausted but more than anything he seemed sad. Your sister was right, it was fair for him to be feeling what he was feeling and he never once tried to push you on the idea of having more children. When you three found out about Aurora, at first he reacted negatively but he more than made up for it, there for you 24/7 throughout your pregnancy and after she was born. No questions asked.
Steve had been the same with Dylan all those years ago. Anything your son needed he offered a helping hand where he could and genuinely enjoyed being there for you both.
He probably wasn’t even going to present you with that “Baby #3” note until you yourself brought up being ready to have another baby. Steve just wanted to be prepared when the time came up. Yet you reacted out of panic, like he was saying it’s either this or nothing. You immediately shut him down and out instead of just talking to him about how he felt.
He deserved more than that; they both did.
Eddie watched as you crossed the living room and headed towards the other man’s side. He turned off the water, reaching for a dishtowel to dry his hands before finally turning to look at you. Steve exhaled heavily and you abruptly wrapped your arms around his waist, pressing your face into his chest. His strong hands held you tighter to his as he rested his cheek on the top of your head.
#############
“I heard Nathan Osborne gave you the third degree today.” Eddie grinned in Steve’s direction from his place on the floor as he strummed his guitar absently.
“I wouldn’t say ‘third degree’ but he was definitely an asshole.” Steve, who was doing crunches, fully sat up to wrap his arms around his knees. “Said I need to focus more on teaching than being a deviant with my whore and my freak.”
“Wow. Rude. I don’t belong to you. I’m my own freak.” Eddie jokingly sized him up making the other man laugh.
You grinned to yourself in the bathroom as you listened to them talk. You loved hearing them speak to each other when they thought you weren’t listening. It had gradually gotten flirtier as the years passed as they got more comfortable with crossing that friend boundary and entering lovers. Sometimes you wondered if at some point they would have gotten there on their own if they hadn’t met you. You imagined so with that energy they had always had between them.
“How hard was it for you not to punch him?”
“Pfft, God. You have no idea.” Steve tipped back down onto the carpet and continued his set. “Y/N verbally gave them something to think about though.”
“Ooo, baby! You badass. Comin’ out swinging with that sassy attitude.”
Turning off the bathroom light, you smiled as you came to sit on the floor beside them.
“Just Lori. Nathan pushed past me before I could say anything. Dylan says they’ve been fighting all night so, I don’t know, maybe she finally told him something.”
“I hate that for Daisy. She can always come over if she needs to.”, Eddie smiled as he reached to move your hair to the side. “What are you thinking about, babe?”
“Dylan asked me if he and his sister were accidents.” Steve sat up again as the metalhead fully moved his guitar to the side. “I’ve genuinely never thought about it before…that neither of the kids were planned. I don’t know how that translates to me basically having a panic attack at the thought of having another but…”, you laugh as they flash you a smile. “Steve, I’m sorry.”
“I mean, no reason to be sorry, honey. I meant what I said. If you aren’t ready, we can wait. It’s not a big deal.”
“It is to me because I know our parents put you through hell because Dylan and Ro aren’t biologically yours—”
“Hey now. No. We aren’t going down that road. Those two kids out there are OURS, mine and Eddie’s. I don’t give a fuck that they aren’t ‘pure Harrington’s’ or whatever bullshit my dad wants to spout around town. I don’t want you to agree to have another baby just because you feel like you owe me something. I’m not going to lie, Y/N, I’m really fucking tired of having this conversation.”
“Steve…”
“No, Munson. I mean we adopted Dylan, both kids have our names. What more do I need to do to prove to you that I see them as my children to? IS it me?
“I have never once doubted that you love those kids. I just feel like it hurts you to be reminded.”
“Yeah…but not in the way you think. It hurts me that there are people out there who are going to tell them the same thing and it will hurt them. It hurts me that ignorant people like our parents and the Osbornes will never be able to understand that I would die to protect those kids. If I could shield them from all this bullshit, I would. Those are the kind of things I worry about when THAT particular topic of conversation comes up.”
“How about this?”, Eddie interjects. “How about we start slow? One stressful situation at a time. Maybe we can start looking into bigger houses and see if we can even afford that. If we can’t there’s no point in even having the baby talk.”
“How big are we talkin’?”
“Well, Harrington, your parent’s house has like a billion bedrooms. How much do they pay?”
“First off, calm down, it’s 5 bedrooms. Second, they bought that house in like the 80s. Houses were a lot cheaper back then.”
“They also live on an expensive side of town.”, you add before softly smiling to yourself. “I always wanted to build my own house.”
“Like…with your two hands or?”
“No, you goof.”, you giggle as you lightly reach out to kick Eddie with your foot. “Like design it and have it built. When we were growing up, my dad used to say that was something he wanted but his idea was more extravagant. ‘We’ll have the bowling alley here and the theater there.’” You glance towards Steve as he grins at your comment before crawling over to climb into his lap.
***
“What about this one?”, you asked Steve as you both sat at the kitchen table looking up houses online. Dylan and Daisy were across from you two working on an assignment for another class.
Eddie was feeding Ro as she sat on the countertop, kicking her legs with a big smile on her face.
“I like it. This is only four bedrooms though. I thought you wanted another so Ed can have a man cave for his guitars.”
“Oh, sure. Blame me like you won’t be keeping things in there as well.”
“That’s fair.”, you giggle. “I like it because it’s kind of out near the countryside of Hawkins. Away from people… Plus we would be a little closer to Wayne.”
“And further away from your mom and my dad?”, Steve whispers as his fingers caress your arm as you nod.
“This area still isn’t far from the school or Ed’s shop—”
Pounding on the front door startled everyone causing both men to immediately shift into protective mode. Steve headed towards the sound, sighing aggressively as he peered through the peephole.
“Kids, upstairs now. You to baby. Don’t argue with me.”, he warned as your mouth opened to protest. Dylan and Daisy head up the stairs as you take Ro from Eddie and follow them.
“Mr. Osborne, how can I help you?”
“Where is my daughter?! I don’t want her in this house anymore.”
“She’s studying with Dylan. Your wife dropped her off a few hours ago—”
“I don’t care! She’s MY daughter to and I don’t her exposed to you people.” The man barged passed Steve to search the house shouting her name.
You wrapped your arms around Daisy as she stood there staring out into the hallway towards the stairs and began to cry.
“It’s ok, sweetheart. They won’t let anything bad happen. I promise.”
“Ah, hello Nathan.”, Eddie sarcastically greets him from his spot at the bottom of the staircase. The man tries to push past him but the metalhead successfully blocks his path with his arm. “See, I’m not the teacher and you’re in my house where my kids are so I have absolutely no problem knocking you out if you try that again.”
“I want my daughter NOW.”
“Mr. Osborne, I need you to calm down. I’m not going to let her leave with you if you continue behaving this way.”
“You’re not going to LET her, Mr. Harrington.”, he laughs.
“That’s correct especially if she doesn’t feel safe leaving with you.”
“Daisy is safer with me than with you freaks. I don’t give a fuck what my wife says…the last thing I need is my daughter thinking being a whore is ok.”
Eddie took long strides forward but Steve quickly came between them as he glared at the other man.
“You’ve barged into my house uninvited smelling like alcohol and insulted my wife. I’m asking you nicely one more time to leave or else I will call Hopper.”
“Daisy, honey, wait…”
The girl stepped out of the room and forward so her dad could see her, you quickly following to grab her arm.
“Daisy! Get down here right now! We are going home.”
“Daisy, if you don’t feel safe you can stay here till we get a hold of your mom.”
“It’s ok, Mr. Harrington. I’ll be ok.”
You watch with sad eyes as his shoulders deflate. They glare at each other as she grabs her things and heads towards the front door.
“You keep that boy away from my kid or else—”
“Or else what?” Steve stepped forward till he was hovering just above the other man’s face. “Finish that sentence, Nathan. Please. Threaten my son so I can finally knock you on your ass.”
Mr. Osborne scoffed before abruptly turning and grabbing his daughter before heading out the door. As both men turned to glance up the stairs, they find you sitting on the top step with your arm around Dylan as you both gaze back with sympathy. Aurora is sitting between her brother’s legs one step below him as she plays with her fingers.
This is their family. Eddie and Steve both grew up with a Nathan Osborne in their house. He was a good reminder of where they had come from and how far they had come. Both men started out alone until they found each other. It was just the two of them for so long till they found you and Dylan before Ro came along.
“You ok, kid?”, Steve asked.
“Yeah… I just hate she has to go back home to that. Are you guys okay?”
“Well, won’t make it on my top 10 Saturday evenings but…” Eddie grinned as you three laugh.
“Grrrr.”, Ro growls as she points to the door.
“Excuse me, who are you trying scare, honey?!”
Aurora crawls down slowly on her butt before reaching up so Steve can lift her in his arms. “Boy…grrrrr. Gashhhhhh. Gashhhhhh.”
Dylan cackles at his sister’s sound effects. “She’s making Darth Vader noises.” He mimics her sounds more clearly and she claps at his understanding. “She’s essentially saying Daisy’s dad is mean.”
“Look at you. Kid is the baby translator.”, the man smiles as she giggles and bonks her head against his.
############
“Let’s do it.”
After putting the kids to bed, you climbed onto Steve’s lap on the couch interrupting the show he and Eddie were watching.
“What’s happening now?”
“Let’s try for another baby.”
The metalhead turns off the tv as they both turn to look at you. “Sweetheart, if you aren’t ready—”
“No, no. I mean, after looking at houses and us going over things…seeing how you two are…” Your fingers come up to caress the man’s cheek. “I watched you two defend us…not just us but Daisy to. It just reminded me that no matter what happens we’re safe with you. We’re in this together. We can make it all work.” Steve pressed his forehead to your own. “I’m sorry for panicking and snapping at you before.”
“No reason to, honey. I get it. We’ll just take it one day at a time, okay? It’s going to take a couple of weeks for the birth control to stop working right? We can use that time to look at some of the houses we found. After today…I like the idea of being out in the country.”
“I wouldn’t mind being closer to Wayne.”, Eddie admits. “So, what a minute. If we’re doing this the fun way…that means I can’t cum inside of you for a while?”
You giggle as you lean into Steve’s neck. “Yup. Sorry, baby.”
He flashes you a wicked grin as he promptly stands up and reaches down to throw you over his shoulder. “Well, I better fill you up as much as I can beforehand. Come on, Steven.”
The other man didn’t need to be told; he was already following you both up the stairs. You smile as he tosses you onto the bed and promptly climbs on top of you, clinging his lips to your neck. As quickly as he could, Eddie tore off his clothes and yanked down your pants, bringing your panties with them.
“What’s your rush?”, you laugh at him as he lifts you further up the mattress and positions himself between your legs.
“I’m just dying to feel you, princess.” His body leans over yours as he rubs the tip of his length through your folds making you moan. “Can I? Can I feel my cock inside of you, baby?”
“You know you don’t have to ask.”
Eddie smiles as his lips gently press against yours. “I know. I just like hearing you say it.”
Your fingers run through his hair before taking hold of his shoulders. “Yes, Eddie. I want to feel you inside of me.”
The man bit his bottom lip as his head hung and he pushed himself into your entrance. You searched for Steve, finding him off to the side, already naked, and stroking his cock to the sight before him. After motioning for him to come closer, he crawled onto the bed beside your head, and reached down to lift off your shirt.
As soon as you were free of its confinement, you reached for him, making him groan when you guided his cock into your awaiting mouth.
Eddie pushed up on his knees, lifting your legs further around his waist as he thrust into you. With half-lidded eyes, he watched as Steve’s own beautiful orbs fluttered closed as his jaw went slack. His palm tenderly caressed your cheek before sliding down to your bouncing tits as he kneaded and played with your nipples.
The metalhead aggressively reached for the back of the boy’s neck, tugging his lips to his own. As they kissed, Eddie’s pace slowed as he pumped into you hard and deep.
“Oh…oh my God. F-fuck.”, you mewled.
Steve moaned loudly, his kisses becoming sloppy as he held the other man’s face tightly against his own. You repositioned your head so you could suck on his balls while you stroked him with your hand.
“Fuck me!” Eddie rapidly covered his mouth but he shook his head, pushing it away as he leaned his forehead against his husband’s. “Fuck, that feels so fucking good.”, he whispers.
Steve licks the tips of his fingers and brings them down to your clit, rubbing in fast circles as Eddie tries to match his pace. You try keeping any part of your mouth on him that you can but you struggle as you hurtle towards your climax.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck. Y-yes, Eddie, baby, please.”
His head collapsed lazily against Steve’s shoulder as he rolled his hips into yours, your body shaking as you came, him following after as your pussy clenches around him.
As you try to come down from your high, you notice them exchange a glance with a knowing smile and before you can say anything, the metalhead’s arms are wrapping around you, and flipping you over till you’re on top of him.
“Whatcha doin’?”, you giggle as he smiles, wiping some of the sweat that had accumulated on your face.
“I did say I wanted to fill you up as much as I could beforehand.”
“Ed…”
His eyebrows coyly raise in your direction. “What? You don’t think you can make me cum again?”
“I didn’t say that.” Eddie pushed up on his hands and you looked behind you when you felt a hand touch your body. Steve winked as he pushed you forward slightly making you grin when your nose grazed the mans underneath you. “I just… don’t want to hurt you. I know how sensitive you both are after you cum.”
To prove your point, you gently lift your hips, gliding your pussy along his cock and his eyes close as he hisses at the stimulation. After licking his lips, he craned his neck, bringing his lips to yours.
“I don’t mind a little pain.” With his knees placed on either of the Eddie’s legs, Steve gripped one of your shoulders while using his other to guide himself into your ass. “If anyone can make me cum more than once this quickly, it’d be you sweetheart.”
Your arms cling to his neck as you begin bouncing and pushing back between them. The man behind you meets each of your moves with a thrust of his own and you promptly see stars.
“Steve…just-just like that. You both always—fuck—always feel…” You struggle to finish your sentence, words leaving your brain as you gaze down at Eddie’s face.
His eyes are squeezed shut as he murmurs through gritted teeth. Steve sees it to as he reaches over you caress the man’s lip with his thumb. As you lean forward to hear him better, his arms move causing him to fall flat on the mattress as he grips your hips. You and the other boy adjust more on your knees making you groan as both men push deeper into you.
“Ed? Are you okay, babe?” He nods as he grumbles something you can’t hear. “I-I can’t hear you, sweethea—oh!” Eddie startles you as his palm comes down hard on your ass.
“Hard-er.”, he growls but not in an aggressive way. His tone is rough but it’s dripping with a need you’ve never heard from him before. That mixed with him spanking you had your cunt constricting around him tighter and he moaned at the feeling.
You did as he commanded, grinding your hips as hard as you could against the two of them, bending down to balance on your own arms for more leverage. The man underneath you spanked you again except this time you felt Steve’s cock twitch inside you as he grunted.
“D-do it again. I think—mmm—I think Stevie likes watching you spank me.”
Without saying a word, he did again and the other boy tugged at your bicep, pulling you flat against his chest. You yelped as Eddie’s thumb flicked against your nub and you were grateful when Steve covered your mouth as you whimpered loudly behind his palm.
You couldn’t hold back anymore as you came causing the metalhead to release a strained fuck as you spasmed around his cock. They both chased their highs, Steve coming first as his face pressed into your shoulder and grunted as he came inside you.
Eddie followed soon after, filling your pussy for the second time. The man behind you carefully pulled out but as you tried to do the same the other boy clung to your hips.
“Baby, I…I love the enthusiasm but…you can’t go again.”, you panted as you grinned. “Not right now.”
A small smirk painted his lips as his eyes remained closed. “I’m…kind of embarrassed to say but…I need you to wait a minute, princess.”
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine. I’ve just never tried that before. Usually, we take a break if we go a few rounds. I, uh, it hurts a little.”
“I told you.”, you sing.
“Are you ok? It’s okay if we sit for a minute, right?”
“Of course. Did you enjoy it?”
“Did I enjoy making love to you till I can barely move after? Yes, sweetheart, I’d say I did.”, he laughs.
“Did you like what he did?”
Eddie exasperatedly giggled harder as he placed his hand over his heart. “Jesus Steven. You were so fucking quiet I forgot you were here.”
“Yeah, that joke never gets old.”
“Hey, I’m a dad. I’m allowed to make jokes like that now.”
“Did I like what?”, you ask.
“Him spanking you. I don’t think we’ve ever done that before.”
“Hm, handcuffs and spanking. We’re becoming regular BDSM heathens.”, Eddie jokes as Steve rolls his eyes.
“Can she answer a question, please?”, he teased.
“I don’t know. Baby, give it a try.”
When you lightly hit his chest, he captures your hand with his own and holds it to him.
“I did. I think you liked it more though.”, you softly smile as you use your other hand to caress his chin.
“I like anything you two do together.”, his head dips slightly as he fidgets with his fingers. Your smiles grows, realizing that’s most likely why Aurora does it. “Not just sexually either. At the school, I was watching you two dance and I just got this sense of pride, you know? You’re both funny, sexy, sarcastic, strong… like what are you doing with me?”, he chuckles under his breath.
“May I move now?” Eddie nods, gripping your hips as your both hiss and wince at the feeling. You crawl towards Steve and without hesitation he pulls you into his arms. “This is the second time this weekend someone I love has said something that just blows my mind. What are we doing with you? Baby… what would we do without you? Ow!” You both look down to see the metalhead cleaning between your legs. “Excuse you. Can I finish being all romantic and junk?”
“I’m not stopping you.”, he chuckles. “Plus, it’s a good distraction for me so I don’t smack him on the back of the head. ‘What are you doing with me’ he asks.” Eddie shakes his head as he tosses the rag towards the hamper in the corner of the room.
“You can’t talk cause you’re the same way! I know sometimes you wonder.”
“Not with you two. Not anymore.”, he smiles as he jumps back into bed. “I DO sit back at times and wonder what these kids are doing calling ME dad.”
“Ok, we need to have a family discussion because the men in the house are saying things…”
“Oh, calm down.”, Steve grins. “You worry and think about things you shouldn’t be either. We literally just had an argument about it yesterday!”
“I’m a mom. I just want everyone to be happy.”
Eddie reaches behind him and turns off the lamp before wrapping his arms around your waist and nuzzling his face into your shoulder. “I’ve never been happier. I love you both and those kids. I can’t wait to meet this new one whenever he comes.”
“He? I’m not even pregnant yet and we’re already taking guesses.”, you giggle.
Steve’s arm slings over you both as his other slides above your heads. Your palm reaches behind him, lightly rubbing his back like you know he likes.
“I think we’re going to have a boy to.”
Your eyes start to become heavy as you feel the blanket fall over your skin. “Hmm… you’ll have to think of name.”
A laugh escapes his throat at the thought. “I came up with Aurora. I think Eddie should come up with the baby’s name.” The metalhead’s steady breathing told you both he was already knocked out. “Honey?”
“Hm?”
Steve places a tender kiss on your forehead as he feels your fingers behind him gradually stop moving.
“I’ve never been happier either.”

Chapter Two
Dinner was painful, both physically and mentally, it was painful every time Heather reached across the table to hold Lip’s hand. It was painful every time your parents cooed and fawned over him, you could see it in their eyes that they disapproved of him. But, they wouldn’t say anything, nothing against their darling daughter’s boyfriend. The worst part was that Lip believed every word they said, couldn’t he tell they were bullshitting?
Lip looked at your sister with so much fondness in his blue eyes that it hurt to watch, but you couldn’t tear your eyes away from them. All you could do was sit back and drink your wine. The dreaded question came about halfway through the first course.
“So, how did you two meet?” your dad asked as he took a sip of his whiskey.
Your sister practically glowed at the question as she grinned over at Lip, “when he walked into my English lecture and sat behind me, kicking my chair the whole time,” she giggled.
You paused slightly and looked over at Lip who was hunched over his plate and you could see a flush starting to form on his cheeks. You remembered how much he had complained about having to take an English class and you talked him into it, telling him you would help out as much as you could. He’d met you first and he still chose her? It stung.
Just before dessert, you excused yourself to go to the bathroom, you had to catch your breath and force the tears back. You decided to text Jess.
‘I need to get out of here, gonna leave before dessert, have a glass ready for me? xx’
She texted you back a couple of minutes later, ‘you know it! Xx’
Taking a deep breath, you plastered a smile on your face and left the bathroom, both Heather and Lip looked up at you as you walked back in, “I have to get going.”
Your parents looked like they couldn’t care less, while Heather and Lip spoke in unison, “you do?”
You nodded, “yeah,” you smiled as you pulled your sweet sister into a hug, “I’ll see you soon, okay?”
Heather smiled, “yeah, next time I’ve got a day off we’ll go for lunch.”
You nodded, though you knew what lunch with your sister would entail, she would gush about Lip the whole time. The guy you had practically fallen for, “it was nice to meet you, Lip,” you gave him a tight smile.
He nodded but didn’t say anything back.
You glanced back at Heather, “I’ll text you,” you smiled before you walked out of the door.
Before you could get down the porch steps, you heard footsteps behind you, “Y/N, wait.”
You glanced over your shoulder to see Lip hurrying after you with a lit cigarette dangling from his lips. He was so gorgeous, it hurt.
“So, what? We have to pretend like we don’t know each other?”
You sighed as you looked at his face, “it’s for the best, after all, you’re just some guy that comes into the bar,” your tone was nonchalant and you had to play it like he meant nothing to you. A look of hurt flickered over his face and in that moment, you hated yourself.
“You know that’s not all we are, I wanted to make an agreement that we wouldn’t make things awkward. I know we both like a bit of a flirt,” he chuckled and stuffed his hands in his pockets.
The only thought in your head was that you had to protect yourself, “you realise that’s my job, right? I get more tips if I flirt with men.”
Lip raised an eyebrow, a response quick on his tongue, “but you never let me pay.”
You rolled your eyes, all you wanted to do was tell him how you felt. But you couldn’t, “whatever, Lip.”
Lip took a drag of his cigarette as he ran a hand through his hair, “I don’t know what I’ve done to upset you, but whatever it is, Y/N, I’m sorry.”
You shrugged as you kicked a stone onto the driveway, “I guess you’ll be wanting your sweater back?”
“What?”
He didn’t remember? “the sweater that you let me borrow when the heating was broken at the bar.”
“Yeah, Y/N,” he nodded, “I remember the sweater, why the hell would I want that back? I gave it to you, you look much better in it,” he chuckled.
“Thought you might want to give it to your girlfriend.”
Lip bit his lip as he shook his head, “I didn’t give it to her. I gave it to you,” his voice was so soft and sincere.”
“I gotta go, Lip. I’ll see you,” you smiled weakly and this time he let you walk away.
As soon as you walked into the bar, Jess saw the look on your face and she poured more wine into your glass until it was full to the brim. Without a word you walked behind the bar and gulped the wine down, almost finishing half of it in one go.
“I take it dinner went great?” she laughed, before you could reply or even make a face you spotted Ian, Lip’s younger brother walk out of the bathroom.
“Hi, Y/N,” he smiled as he sat at the bar and took a sip of his drink, “what’s wrong?” he asked with a laugh when you narrowed your eyes at him.
“Did you know your brother had a girlfriend?” you asked.
Ian shrugged, “I knew he was seeing someone, I thought,” he trailed off, biting his lip. He only answered when you raised an eyebrow in question, “I thought he was seeing you.”
You scoffed as you took another gulp of your wine, “close, he’s dating my sister.”
Ian’s eyes widened and Jess let out a gasp of shock as she rubbed your shoulder, “oh sweetie, I’m so sorry. Are you okay?”
You thought about it for a minute, were you okay? Eventually, you settled on a nod, “yeah I’m okay. A little hurt that he met me first and he still wanted her,” you thought back to the conversation you’d had with him outside the house, “oh god, I was such a bitch to him.”
With another large glass of wine, you told your friends what had happened outside the house and how you tried to make it out like Lip meant nothing to you. Ian smirked – it seemed like the first time Lip had been given the cold shoulder by a girl – while Jess gave you a disappointed look. The guilt only grew as you drank more wine and you knew that you needed to apologise. If he apologised would he forgive you?
When Jess went into the back to get more wine, Ian looked at you, “you know I am a little surprised that he’s dating your sister. Did you have a boyfriend when you guys met?”
“No, why?” you asked and Ian bit his lip, you knew he was contemplating how much to tell you, “oh come on, don’t do that! You can’t just start and not finish.”
Ian laughed as he ran a hand through his short hair, “god, would you just chill? Lip’s my best friend. Mostly, we tell each other everything and when he first met you he came home raving about how he’d just met the most beautiful girl in the world.”
You flushed, hoping it was true, “then why is he dating my sister?”
Ian shrugged with a sad look, “I don’t know, because he’s an idiot,” he chuckled, “look Lip cares about you, he’d never hold a grudge against you,” he smiled, answering your silent question before he checked his watch and slid off the bar stool, “I gotta get to work, how about you come over next Friday for dinner? Lip comes down from college.”
You scoff, “I’m not going if he’s bringing my sister.”
Ian grinned, “Lip usually comes over way before dinner. How about I text you and let you know?”
“That would be great,” you grinned and waved at him as he left the bar.
You decided that now would be a good time as any to call Lip, it would definitely be better to do it now before you got drunk and started another argument with him. Or told him too much. Shelving your pride, you selected his name from your contacts and called him. It rang for a little bit too long and you were worried he was ignoring your call. Just before you were about to hang up, he answered.
“Hey, Y/N.”
“Hi,” you smiled, relieved when he answered.
“So, what can I do for you?” he prompted you when you fell silent and you had almost forgotten why you were calling.
“I wanted to apologise,” you sighed, “you were right, we are more than just strangers, you know if you want I can tell Heather that we know each other? I’ll make up some excuse to why I was pretending like I didn’t know you,” you laughed.
“No, no, it’s okay. Don’t tell her, you were right, it would be best if she didn’t know that we already know each other,” he paused, “I accept your apology by the way, I’m sorry too.”
“I don’t like fighting with you.”
“Me neither,” another pause, “does that mean you’ll help me with the Gatsby essay?” you could hear the smile in his voice.
“Wow, just using me for my amazing writing skills?” you giggled, “why don’t you ask my sister? You guys can have a little middle school study date,” you fought hard to keep the bitterness out of your voice.
Lip laughed, “oh shut up! Besides, my plagiarising off of you is something special that we share, don’t want to ruin it.”
“Of course not,” you giggled.
“Listen, I gotta go but thanks for the call and I’ll see you soon, yeah?”
“Yeah,” you smiled, “bye, Lip.”
“See you later, Y/L/N,” he laughed before hanging up the phone.
You smiled, you were glad that you had managed to work things out, it didn’t mean you had to like it though. Though you supposed you’d better get used to it if you wanted to keep your relationship with Heather and your sister intact. You wondered whether Jess could introduce you to any cute guys.

Flaking Fancy - Part 1
Matthew Murdock x Reader
Summary: Reader invites Foggy and Matt to her family’s holiday party. It’s a fancy affair, one that she’ll need all the help she can to get through.
Word Count: 5k
Warnings: some alcohol consumption, mentions of sex (nothing happens)
A/N: Matt is back, bitches. You thought I forgot about him? Hell no. Could never forget about him, no matter how hard I tried. (This is part one of two, but can be read alone!)
__
“Tell me again why Foggy decided to flake tonight?”
She had been fiddling with the clasp on her bracelet—it wouldn’t close no matter how much she tried—without even looking up at the man across the room from her. If only she had a second pair of hands, or one of those nifty bracelet gadgets she’s been meaning to buy anyway.
“Flake?” Matt barked a laugh. “You know Foggy would want nothing more than to go to a fancy party with free booze and food.”
“Right,” she looked up, “which is weird that he flaked.”
“He said he was sick,” Matt shrugged helplessly. Truth be told, Matthew Murdock could see right through his roommate’s white lie—but he didn’t have the energy to fight him on it, not when he was already late to meeting up with (Y/N), anyway. “Stomach bug or something.”
“He seemed fine this morning during Professor Knight’s lecture,” (Y/N) sighed, placing a hand on her hip. She’d all but given up on the bracelet, throwing the damned jewelry onto her disheveled bed. Her dorm was in a state of disarray—she had gone through nearly her entire closet to choose what dress she would wear tonight. “And I know for a fact he couldn’t have gotten food poisoning—we both ate that shitty Chinese food for lunch, so I would be hugging the toilet too if that was the case.”
“Don’t shoot the messenger,” Matt held his hands up, holding back another laugh. “Believe me, I tried to get him to come with us—”
“I never invite y’all to something this nice,” (Y/N) bent down to grab her heels, “the one time I can get us into a fancy party with fancy food and fancy drinks and fancy people? He just… flakes?”
“You never said this party was fancy.”
She turned her attention from her shoes back up to Matt—his face already plastered with a shit-eating grin that was so uniquely… Matt. “Har har.”
“Seriously, (Y/N), it’s fine,” Matt reassured her, “we can still go to your fancy party and have a fancy time with your fancy family. You won’t even notice he’s gone.”
“It’s just…” (Y/N) wrung her wrist, trying to find the words she was looking for. Matt just stood there, waiting patiently for her to continue. “You two are my best friends here at school and this is my family’s holiday party—I just… dunno…”
He could practically hear her heart drop. This party meant a lot to her—this much Matt already knew—but to hear her admit it? “You want to prove to your parents that you’re not totally floundering away at school,” he stated.
“My dad always said law school was a bad idea,” she stood up from her bed, both heels now firmly on her feet, “said I was wasting my time on my ‘passion project’. Mom never really understood my convictions about it either, but she never outright said anything nasty about it.”
“So if you had friends in your corner to back you up—”
“Maybe they’d be more okay with the idea of their daughter straying off their ideal path,” she nodded softly. “Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t invite the two of you to this party just for that. I also really enjoy your company—something tells me I’m gonna need some of that Murdock sass to make it through the night.”
“‘Murdock sass?’”
“I would’ve also appreciated Nelson’s one-liners, specifically about my aunt’s terrible taste in fashion, but I guess,” she drawled the last word out, “I could settle for just you. Maybe a whole bottle of champagne too, but we’ll see where the night leads us.”
“I’m afraid I can’t comment on your aunt’s state of dress,” Matt joked, “but I promise I’ll be by your side all night, ready to entertain.”
“Oh, right, you’ll need me to guide you around the house,” she nearly slapped her forehead. “I totally forgot—”
“I’m sure I could manage my way around a townhouse, sweetheart,” he said cautiously, hoping she wouldn’t shy away from the term of endearment. With the way her heart skipped a beat, he safely assumed it was an alright move. “But if you feel the need to show me around…”
“You’ll need the help,” she assured him, smoothing the lines in her satin dress. “Trust me. My parents own the wildest home decor—last time I was over I nearly tripped over an elephant statue by the front door.”
“An elephant?”
“My mom is convinced it’s her ‘spirit animal’ or ‘inner beast’, I guess,” she shrugged. “Always remembering things, holding it over my dad’s head and whatnot.”
“Sounds like someone I know,” Matt hummed.
“Shut up,” she slapped his arm playfully. “Come on, we’re gonna be late—”
“Aren’t you going to put on your bracelet?”
“My…” her eyes grew as wide as saucers. “How did you know I didn’t get my bracelet on?”
Matt wanted to tell her the truth—badly did he want to be honest and explain that he was diligently listening to how many times she fumbled with the clasp, the metal clinking ringing through his ears. But, he couldn’t do that, not tonight. “You mumbled something under your breath earlier,” he held out his hand, “come on, let me help.”
“Did I?” (Y/N) shook her head in disbelief. It was likely that she did, it was a bad habit of hers—and seemingly she did it without even realizing it. “Are you sure you can get the clasp?”
“No,” he smiled lightly, grabbing the dangling chain from her hand. “But I can hold it in place while you get it.”
“That… could work,” she breathed, “yeah.”
Carefully, Matt held the chain of small diamonds taught in the air, hoping her wrist would find its place without any guidance. She pressed against it gently and circled the chain around her wrist—ignoring completely how electric it was to feel Matt’s fingertips graze the sensitive skin there. She all but stuck her tongue out in concentration to finish the task quickly, to get them out the door faster, but with the way he was standing so close to her? The way his breath hitched when her fingers brushed his? The task seemed almost impossible.
“T-there,” she mumbled, removing her hand from the clasp. It had taken only two tries this time to get it attached, the help from Matt surely aiding greatly. “All done.”
“Great,” Matt breathed, finally allowing air to fill his lungs again. “Glad to be of help.”
She smiled sweetly, patting his chest. “Come on Murdock, we’ve got a fancy party to attend.”
When she had told Matt about her parent’s holiday party, he was expecting the usual. Christmas cookies, carolers, drunk uncles and ugly sweaters. What he hadn’t realized, is that (Y/N) came from a rather well off family, so their version of the holidays was much different than what he was used to. Hell, he’d grown so accustomed to a T.V dinner on Christmas Eve it had almost become the norm, so when a server—a server—asked if he wanted a tourtière? He felt completely out of his realm. To his relief, it seemed (Y/N) felt the same way. He could tell that her heart was beating faster, her breathing was uneven—she was nervous.
“What exactly is a tourtière, anyway?” Matt mumbled into her ear, careful to not bump into her. The scent of her hair nearly sent him into a spiral, her shampoo was intoxicating.
“Some sort of meat pie,” she uttered back, “I think it’s Canadian.”
“What ever happened to pigs in a blanket? That still a thing?”
“I think it was a pork tourtière,” she giggled, “so, technically a pig in an unconventional blanket?”
Matt giggled—God, he giggled. “I guess you’re right, on a technicality.”
“Technicalities are my specialty,” she poked his chest. “You should know that.”
“The specialty of any law student,” Matt rocked on his heels, taking a sip of the bubbling champagne he had been given not too long ago. (Y/N) downed her third glass of the night along with his timid sips. “You should probably slow down,” he said, hearing the soft clink of the glass against the metal plate of the passing server.
“If I’m gonna talk to my parents tonight, I’m going to need at least three more of these things,” she murmured into a fresh glass. He couldn’t argue with her logic, so he merely continued to nurse his bubbling glass.
“What was it like?” He asked, trying to change the subject as best he could. “Growing up here, I mean. I can’t speak for how nice your home is or looks—but by the way it smells, I’m sure it’s very elegant.”
“Cold,” she replied honestly. “Lonely most of the time—I didn’t have any siblings to entertain me. I usually was stuck watching movies with the nanny while my parents decided to spend their evenings at galas and parties.”
“You had a nanny?”
“Oh yeah,” she gulped. “Lucy was my nanny up until I was in middle school, then her daughter Rose took over until I made it to college.” (Y/N) laughed lightly to herself. “It’s funny, if it wasn’t for Lucy bringing new movies over every week, I don’t think we’d be here right now.”
“And why is that?”
“One of the movies she brought over was Legally Blonde,” she snorted into her glass, “I wanted to be Elle Woods so bad—don’t get me wrong, I have many other reasons why I want to be a lawyer, but I can’t discredit how Reese Witherspoon had a helping hand in my future career.”
“You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Legally Blonde,” Matt hummed. “It never really appealed to me—to be fair, most movies don’t.”
“Well, it’s a fucking fantastic film,” she tilted her head, smirking. “Though, I think the only reason Lucy brought it over so much was because I would actually leave her alone to do the housework.”
“That seems totally unlike you,” Matt deadpanned.
“I was a master at mopping the floors,” she snorted, “Lucy just preferred that I… didn’t.”
“Something tells me you kept getting in the way?”
“There may have been an incident with a jar of pasta sauce and a rogue mop handle—but the stain mostly came out of the floor. I think mom bought a rug to cover it up, though.”
She did. Matt had noticed the slight change in the flooring when they had paraded through the kitchen earlier, avoiding any collisions with stray family members and business partners. It was an odd place for a rug, he had thought, but the little bit of backstory on the matter pulled his lips up in a small smile. “A rug for the kitchen? Seems outside of your mother’s taste.”
“Oh,” (Y/N) barked a laugh, sipping more champagne, “trust that the rug probably costs more than our tuition—so not too far out of the realm of possibility, I’m afraid.”
Matt’s smile faded, just a bit. “What did you say your parents did for work again?”
“Beats the fuck out of me,” she shrugged helplessly, downing the glass in her hand. “The more I try to pry, the more I get shunned away with expensive gifts and trips.”
“So you… don’t know?” His brows were furrowed, laced together with slight confusion.
“Last time I asked they swore me to secrecy,” she leaned in closer, her breath practically dancing across his cheek, “knife to my throat and all. Y’know, mobster style.”
“Mobster? (Y/N), are you saying that your parents—”
Before he could finish his thought, she erupted in a fit of giggles, clutching her stomach nearly in pain.
“Oh my God,” she held onto his shoulder for stability—surely about to fall over otherwise. “You thought I was serious!”
He swallowed thickly, trying to force a laugh. “I mean, most people don’t joke that their parents are in some sort of organized crime syndicate?”
“You should’ve seen the look on your face! You looked as white as a ghost,” more laughter escaped her lips. “Nah, my parents are both Wall Street assholes—most of the people around us are also Wall Street assholes. Some normal assholes too, like my Uncle Tom. Everyone here’s an asshole, except for us”
“Alright sweetheart, I think you’ve had enough to drink,” Matt carefully pried the empty glass from her hand. “No need to be ranting about assholes at the holiday party.”
“Speaking of assholes!” (Y/N) nearly shouted, a few business-looking individuals turned their attention to the couple across the room. The lingering stares didn’t last long, nearly every one of them continued their seemingly boring conversations and decided to move on. “We should find my parents! I think I can talk to them now!”
“That seems like a poor decision,” Matt smirked, snaking his arm casually around her waist, leading her away from the room. “Especially in your current state.”
“Please,” she scoffed. “My parents have seen me tipsy before.”
“I think we’re well past tipsy,” he laughed airily, pulling her to a quieter corner of the townhouse. “Besides, I don’t think you’ll agree with your choices tomorrow morning.”
“Ugh,” she groaned into his shoulder, head bashing against him in defeat. “You’re probably right.”
“Usually am.”
“I’m starting to get a headache.”
“I can imagine.”
“I should probably lay down.”
“That seems wise.”
“D’you think my parents would mind if I took a power nap in my room?” Her question was serious, eyes only slightly glazed over from the alcohol. “I mean… it’s my room, y’know?”
“Why don’t you lead the way? I’m sure you can sneak away for thirty minutes,” Matt rubbed his hand gently against her side, urging her to move forward. She nodded slightly before pulling away from him and wandered down the long hallway, familiarity lacing her every step. “Here’s hoping they didn’t turn it into an exercise room or something.”
“Oh, they wouldn’t,” she said seriously, “they already have a home gym on the second floor.”
Matt blinked.
“Right. Of course they do.”
She turned towards a large white door, embellished with an antique looking bronze knob. After a quick knock—something she immediately regretted doing—she opened the door to a nearly unchanged room. The decor was completely different than the rest of the home, save for the furniture, as that matched everything else. Her walls were plastered with movie and band posters, a cork board filled with all of her accomplishments hung beside her bed along with the various stuffed animals that adorned it.
“Welcome to mi casa,” she said unceremoniously, flopping face first down into the mattress. A stray teddy bear fell to the floor as she mumbled something into her pillow—he tried to make it out, but it was no use.
“What was that?” He toed into the room further and shut the door, feet hitting a fuzzy rug quickly.
“I said,” she mumbled, pulling her face up from her pillow, “this isn’t how I was expecting to pull you into my room tonight.”
He could’ve sworn his heart stopped. Had it not been for the rushing blood in his ears, he’d have no way of knowing.
“Yeah?” He nervously chuckled.
“Yeah,” she agreed, rolling onto her back, “was planning on seducing the absolute shit out of you. Figured you’d be amazing tonight at the party, probably say the sweetest crap about me to my parents and I’d want to finally make a move. Even went out of my way and wore my sexy underwear set which… you couldn’t have seen anyway…”
“The thought counts,” he smiled gently, floating his way over to her bed. Cautiously, he sat down beside her, silently hoping she wouldn’t move.
“I mean, it has a bit of lace on it,” she hummed thoughtfully, “you probably could’ve enjoyed that?”
“Probably,” he agreed. She hummed again, putting her head against her pillow. “How much have you had to drink tonight, sweetheart?”
“Not sure, the servers just kept… putting another glass in my hand whenever it was empty.”
He laughed at that. “I’ll go get you some water, maybe some proper hydration will get your head back on straight, stop talking nonsense.”
“Nonsense?”
“Nonsense,” he parroted begrudgingly, patting her leg gently. “All that bubbly’s gotten to your pretty little head, making you say things you don’t really mean.”
“Nah,” she scoffed back, “s’not nonsense, I think it’s the most level-headed thought I’ve had. Probably ever.”
“Sure it is, sweetheart,” he replied sarcastically, tenderly removing the black heels off of her feet—they were practically falling off anyway.
“You’ve gotta stop calling me that,” she lifted her head up from the pillow, desperate to try and look him in the eyes, “or else I’m gonna try to jump your bones, Murdock.”
Matt listened carefully to her heartbeat—it was steady and strong—she was telling the truth. “You’re drunk.”
“And you’re hot.”
“You’re not in the right mind and I’m not going to take advantage of you,” he sighed, rubbing her leg tenderly, “it wouldn’t be right.”
“Ugh,” she pushed her face into the pillow again, “why do you have to be so nice all the time?”
“I’m not always nice,” Matt snickered lightly, “but I’m glad you think so.”
“If I wasn’t drunk,” she practically slurred, “would you want to sleep with me?”
“(Y/N)…”
“No, wait,” she pressed her hand towards the sky—hoping it would land somewhere in Matt’s vicinity. “Don’t tell me. I don’t wanna know.”
“I’m gonna go get you that water,” Matt managed to squeak out, rising from the bed, “maybe find some Advil. I’ll… be right back.”
Matt could barely make out the agreeing murmur that came from the pillow as he exited the room. The party was still in full swing, the jazz band he tried avoiding earlier was still blaring throughout the home. He didn’t want to cause any suspicion on how well he was navigating through the house—the thought of trying to explain how he found the kitchen based on the faint smell of food nearly halfway across the building—Matt pulled out his cane. It was neatly folded up in his inner jacket pocket, he had (Y/N) to guide him around most of the night, it nearly seemed pointless to bring it.
“Excuse me?”
Matt turned around, having nearly made it to the end of the hallway. He hadn’t heard anyone walking behind him—but to his detriment, he was focusing on (Y/N)’s breathing as he walked away, insuring that it was even.
“Uh, hi,” Matt forced a smile, waving lightly, “I’m just looking for the kitchen… sorta hard to find.” He tapped his cane twice for good measure. The blind thing usually worked.
“And you were hoping to find it in my daughter’s bedroom?”
Shit.
“Mr. (Y/L/N), I’m sorry for the informality,” Matt waited for the man to get closer, hoping he wouldn’t punch him square in the face, “I’ve been meaning to find you this evening to introduce myself—”
“Introduce yourself? Tell me, when exactly did you plan to introduce yourself? Before or after you fucked my daughter?”
Matt could feel the blood drain from his face. He knew that (Y/N) had been joking earlier about the mob thing, but now coming face to face with her father? It didn’t exactly seem too far off. “Sir, I think there’s a bit of misunderstanding—”
“Really? How else am I to take fact the same man my daughter has been carting around all night just exited her bedroom? Said daughter in question nowhere to be found?”
“Your daughter had a little bit too much to drink,” Matt said honestly, “she needed to lay down, so she led me to her room. I was just going to go get her some water. I promise, nothing nefarious, sir.”
The older man huffed, breath hot on his mustache. “And your name?”
“Matthew Murdock,” he outstretched his hand, “I’m a law student with your daughter. Just a friend, I assure you.”
“Just a friend,” he mumbled back, meeting Matt’s hand in a firm shake, “and I’m supposed to believe that?”
“You don’t have to,” Matt smiled brightly, “but it’s the truth. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to meet you all the way back here, would’ve thought you’d be enjoying the party with the rest of your guests.”
“Had to step away for a bit,” her father sniffed, “went to my study to clear my head. These parties are more my wife’s thing.”
Matt could smell the scent of cigars coming off of the man’s suit, the cigars overpowered the other lingering scents that he couldn’t quite pick out, but if he had to guess it was probably something Mr. (Y/L/N) would want to keep from his wife anyhow. “I understand, I get overwhelmed quite easily. These things aren’t particularly my scene.”
“My daughter’s alright, I take it?”
“She’ll be fine,” Matt assured him, “once she gets some water I think she’ll be able to join the masses again. Had a few too many glasses of champagne, I think.”
“She’s not much of a drinker,” her father mused, shoving his hand into his front pocket, “guess that silly little law school of hers has changed her in ways I’ll never understand.”
“Columbia is a prestigious school,” Matt bit back, feeling his chest grow hot in anger, “your daughter is a bright student and intelligent beyond her years. She’s going to be an excellent lawyer, I assure you.”
“Prestigious or not,” the older man sighed, “she’s just wasting her time. Her mother and I already had a charming life planned out for her, a good job, a fair amount of inheritance, a husband—”
“Husband?”
“But she decided to throw all our hard work away and act ungrateful for the entire thing,” he finished, clearly exasperated.
Matt’s grip on his cane grew near-deadly, the anger flushing upwards and outwards—you could probably see the steam leaving his ears. He knew of her parent’s convictions, she had been brave enough to share tidbits here and there about their continuous disappointment. It never, ever, made sense to Matt.
“She,” Matt cleared his throat, “is a wonderful woman. Got accepted into an Ivy League school, practically the top of our class and she makes it look effortless. Any parent would be proud to call her their daughter.”
“I never said I wasn’t proud,” her father groaned lightly, fingers rubbing against his temple, “she’s clearly been making a name for herself in the slums. Look, you’re not a parent, so you have little to say on how I decide parent my own daughter.”
“You’re right,” Matt agreed quickly, without hesitation, “I have very little to say to you.” He began to walk away, towards what was presumably the kitchen. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get some water.”
He didn’t mean to practically insult her father, of course not, that wasn’t his intention. Matt was sure he’d hear the ramifications of his actions from (Y/N) at a later date, but until then, he had a job to do. He had—thankfully—returned to her room with ease, a cold glass of water in one hand, a frosted pitcher of it in the other, cane tucked promptly in his armpit.
“S’just me, sweet thing,” Matt mumbled into the dark abyss of the room, hearing her stir slightly at the large wooden door creak shut. “Brought you some water.”
“Matt…?”
“Well, at least I think it’s water,” he chuckled dryly, setting the pitcher down on the picturesque nightstand beside her, “could be more of that sangria your aunt was chugging.”
“Looks like water,” she groggily replied, scraping the sleep out of her eyes, makeup be damned. She had hardly been out for twenty minutes, but the nap hit her like a brick to the chest—a good sleep nonetheless. “Lucky for me I sober up quickly.”
Matt forced a smile, nodding only the once. He could still smell the lingering notes of the champagne on her tongue, but he had half a mind to believe her. “The water will help. I couldn’t find any pain killers though—”
“My purse,” she pointed across the room, “I have a bottle with stuff in it. It’s right next to the door, on the ground to the left.”
His heart warmed at the simple directions—even though he knew full well where her purse was, she took the extra moment to describe the location for him. He momentarily fumbled ‘looking’ for the bag—he’d make a mental note to consider coming clean about his abilities at a later date—and managed to loop the strap onto his arm, carrying it back to the bed with ease. His hand dug around, reaching for the bottle she had spoken of, smiling when his fingers wrapped around a rattling cylinder. “Doesn’t sound like you just have pain killers in here.”
“Pain killers, antidepressants, ecstasy,” she chuckled, popping the top off easily. “Maybe an Adderall or two from Foggy…”
Matt knew she was lying, mostly, anyway. Her heart skipped a beat at the mention of anything past her antidepressants. He listened for the soft sound of her swallowing the capsules before settling onto the mattress beside her. “I’m shocked Foggy even had the thought to give you some.”
“Nah man,” she scoffed playfully, “I had to sell my soul to acquire just the one. Well, my soul and my notes from Professor O’Malley’s lectures.”
“Ah, of course.”
“How long was I out?” “Forty minutes at the most.”
The silence that filled the room was comfortable, to say the least. It usually always was when it was the two of them, but a certain tenseness had overwhelmed Matt’s entire being—a detail not entirely overlooked by the still sobering woman sitting beside him. “You… met my parents, didn’t you?”
“No,” Matt shook his head quickly, “just your father.”
A groan escaped her lips, Matt could only guess it could have been heard over the horrific jazz music down the hall. “Somehow that’s even worse.”
“He was… fine.”
“You hesitated.”
“I didn’t.”
“Matt.”
He pulled his hands up in defense. “Alright, fine maybe he wasn’t fine. We had a small chat and… I completely understand why you had me come tonight. He was practically talking you down every chance he got… Christ, (Y/N), I had no idea that he really disapproved that much—”
“Tell me about it,” she somberly replied, gulping half of the glass of water in her hand. “Wait—when exactly did you run into my dad?”
“He… saw me exit your room and thought that we—that I possibly was up to something—”
“What? Like we were fucking?”
Matt’s face flushed instantly, he was nearly certain of it. “Yes.”
“Oh.”
“I think I persuaded him into thinking otherwise,” Matt stated quickly, the words tumbling from his lips. “Convinced him we were only friends.” Her response was muffled, even with his enhanced hearing, the blood that was pumping through his head from the embarrassment was enough to nearly deafen him, even for the moment.
“Would that have been the worst thing?” (Y/N) repeated, fully registering the man’s lack of reaction from her earlier statement. “I mean, in the grand scheme of things?”
“What? That your dad thought we were fucking in your childhood bedroom?”
“Yes! I mean,” she slapped her forehead lightly. “No, obviously. Not that, but, in general? Like we were… together?”
“Oh.”
“Oh,” she mimicked, feeling the shame of a thousand suns burn against her skin. “You don’t—that’s fine, forget I said anything—”
It was against better judgment, Matt could attest to it, but he simply couldn’t wait a second longer to put his lips on hers. He hardly knew how to leave her speechless in the best of times, and with the way she was reacting? The way she practically melted into his touch? Matthew Murdock had yet another trick up his sleeve.
She pulled away much quicker than he would have liked, placing a hand on his chest gently. “I thought you said you didn’t want to take advantage of me?” Her tone was teasing, light.
“You said so yourself,” he pressed his forehead against hers. “You sober up quickly.”
Her laughter morphed into a hiss of pain, gravitating away from his touch. “I might be a liar,” she groaned. “My head is killing me.”
“Liar or not,” Matt said softly, rubbing her hand lovingly. “I don’t intend on doing anything more than kiss you tonight, it wouldn’t be right. I’m sorry for kissing you in the first place.”
A sly grin pulled against her lips. “So you do want to do more than just kiss me?”
Matt laughed lightly. “I may be blind, but I’m not stupid, sweetheart. I’ve wanted to kiss you for a while now and, based on your comments tonight we probably could’ve been kissing a lot earlier.”
“Oh yeah,” she scoffed playfully. “I’ve wanted to do something about my major crush on you since our ethics class.”
It was Matt’s turn to grin. “‘Major crush?’”
“Ginormous,” she nodded. “I’m talking like, heart eyes every time you would walk into the room sort of crush.”
He always had a small suspicion that she felt a little more than just friendship for him—based on her vitals and breathing patterns, naturally—but hearing her confirm it was like music to his ears. “You’re making it really hard to not kiss you again.”
“Good,” (Y/N) mused, squeezing his hand tighter. “You can kiss me whenever you want.”
“How about I take you out first? We can kiss all we want after.”
She frowned. “Just kiss?”
Matt leaned in closer.
“Well, we wouldn’t want you to not get any use out of your lacy underwear, would we?”
The couple erupted into a fit of giggles, both thinking fondly on ways to thank Foggy for flaking.
BONUS: “Look, guys, I’m happy that you two finally got your heads outta the sand and got together and are acting like the grossest couple imaginable, truly,” Foggy said, sipping his coffee quickly, eyeing the new couple down. “But you do realize this wasn’t some grand scheme or anything, I really was sick last week?”
Matt laughed. “Sure you were, Fog.”
(Y/N) followed suit in her own flurry of giggles. “Oh yeah, I’m so sure.”
Foggy stared at his two best friends, looking back and forth between the lovebirds. He sighed. Loudly.

Cycle
(Soul Eater fanfiction)
Word count: 1 960
Summary: Spirit finds out about Blair giving her own lingerie to Maka as opposed to her favorite book. He decides to straighten things out with Maka. This fic also deals a lot with alcoholism.
Note:
I plan on tackling his relationship with Maka more in depth in future fics. It is fun.
……
The sound of a bottle cap being popped quickly off rung throughout Chupa Cabra’s, a shot of excitement running down Spirit’s spine.
“How did it go when you gave it to her? I bet she loved it, you know how my Maka loves her books,” Spirit smiled a large, bright smile - one filled with pure adoration and love for his precious daughter. He stared expectantly into Blair’s oddly guilty eyes, as she nervously chuckled, pouring them both drinks, and twirling her purple locks between her fingers anxiously.
“Uhh… About that,” Blair trailed off, mouth opening and closing repeatedly as she searched endlessly for a way to put her next confession.
“Oh, no, what happened?” The weapon’s smile faded fast, his expression contorting melodramatically into one of pure worry and almost fear.
“Well.. I sort of spent the money you gave me on some lingerie for myself.. and, well…” Blair guiltily began.
“Blair…?” He tilted his head, eyes filling with rage and annoyance.
“I ended up just giving the underwear to Maka, along with your card,” the cat admitted, her hair surely knotted by now.
“She thinks I gave her skimpy lingerie?!” Spirit shouted, his jaw having gone slack, and his eyes widening to an incredible size.
The flirtatiously fluorescent lights of Chupa Cabra’s only served to illuminate the sunk-in expression on Blair’s face. Her shoulders were slumped, and her right hand gently shook as she held her glass of champagne.
“Uh, yeah, kinda,” she rushed out in a hushed voice, her words slurring together as though she had already begun drinking long ago.
“You didn’t even tell her? What the hell?!” He exclaimed, his arms flailing around wildly. The pair most certainly garnered attention from the rest of the clients and employees, curious eyes observing the situation at the table closest to the door.
“Please keep your voice down, sir,” the polite lady working at the checkout desk scolded the man.
“Yes, sorry, ma’am,” he mumbled bashfully, shame rising to the tips of his ears as though he had been lectured by his parents.
A theatrical sigh shook Blair’s ashamed frame, as she said to Spirit, “I’m sorry, Death Scythe…”
Spirit, too, released a sigh in response, grabbing his glass and chugging it as fast as he possibly could.
“God,” he began, rubbing at his already throbbing temples. “I need to straighten this out, don’t it?”
“Probably,” she took a large sip from her own glass.
……
Spirit stumbled slightly as he trudged in the direction of Maka and Soul’s shared dorm, his cheeks burning brightly.
He couldn’t stand the fact that Maka might seriously believe he’d be so perverted as to send his own daughter lingerie. It physically pained him. He already had an extremely rocky - and practically nonexistent, at times - relationship with his daughter, they didn’t need this to make it worse.
Anxiety formed as a tight ball of chaos in his throat, or bile, rather, as he bent over, convulsing in on himself violently as he gagged. The crippling nervousness combined with all of the alcohol only led to an incredibly unsettled stomach.
As he slowly rose from that awkward position, one hand coming to soothe the pounding in his skull, and one arm wrapping around his pained abdomen, he eyed a young mother and her son looking down on him in pure disgust. He didn’t exactly blame them.
He rubbed his mouth, grimacing at the nasty taste. He was sure he had some sort of fever by now.
There was no way he was going to confront Maka in such a state. He’d have to wait until morning.
He made a right turn instead of a left, stomping about on the cobblestone path. He himself owned a cozy little apartment close by the students’ dormitories.
His vision was mildly blurry as he walked, his stomach churning with fervor once he made it to his door, of which his inebriated brain almost caused him to knock on.
He stuck his hand in his pocket, pulling out and fumbling with his jingling keys.
As soon as the door opened, he tripped inside, shutting the door much too loudly for his liking behind himself.
Spirit audibly groaned as the lights in his living space practically burned out his retinas.
He marched his way into his bedroom, shuffling his suit jacket and tie off. He kicked his shoes off, one making it half way across the room, the other landing right by his clothed foot. He threw himself underneath his covers, making sure to lay on his side. Spirit balled his comforter up and cuddled with it, closing his eyes and trying to ignore the bubbling of not only torturous emotions within him, but also of all kinds of physical agony.
All he could truly be sure of in that moment was the fact that he was most definitely going to wake up to a horrendous nightmare of a hangover in the morning.
……
Spirit began to stir as the light of day flooded in and stabbed him in his head. He whined, cursing existence itself, as he shoved his head into the plush warmth of his pillow.
As Spirit lay miserable underneath his twisted and messy blankets, he begrudgingly recalled the events of the previous night. They came to him in short, humiliating, fuzzy bursts. A shade of red barely lighter than his crimson hair tinted his cheeks and ears as he fought the urge to throw a tantrum.
He threw the covers off of himself, very cautiously rising into a sitting position. He held his head gently in his own hand as his brows furrowed. Not only did he curse existence itself, but he also cursed Blair for her utter selfishness.
“Will I ever get on better terms with Maka?” Spirit thought hopelessly and depressingly to himself. He understood why Maka was so angry with him, but he truly wished she could simply see it from his perspective, as well. If a genie appeared before him right in that instance, the only thing he’d wish for - the only thing that would be on his mind in that moment would be forgiveness from Maka… He would wish for a repaired and functional relationship with the person most dear to him.
His eyes began to burn, his face, too, rising in temperature. It felt as though a mist of heat was smothering his cheeks. A fat and pitiful tear rolled fell gracefully downwards, as his lip quivered in a juvenile manner.
He was truly behaving like a child. Blubbering would surely not do him any good in speaking with Maka about the mishap with the gift.
Still, he couldn’t help himself. More and more droplets fell onto his knees, of which were still covered with the dress pants he was adorning the night before.
This was why Maka did not like him. Sure, she viewed him as a vile womanizer, too, but he was also an avid drinker who often couldn’t get a proper handle on his emotions. Yes, that was surely it. He was behaving as though he was still a kid whom didn’t have a kid himself, with all his drinking and sobbing and partying… Perhaps he’d work on that.
He stood, steadying himself using his nightstand as the room spun. He could feel a thumping in his head and fingers, as he moved toward his bathroom.
The scythe’s stomach felt as though it was being wrung out with each step he took. As a matter of fact, Spirit could feel each step reverberate throughout his entire body, similarly to a hard vibration - perhaps even that of loud music playing at a lively concert.
Spirit lifted the lid of the porcelain toilet, shoving his face nearly in the bowl, as he dry-heaved.
He certainly needed to eat, that should ease the nausea, though he certainly didn’t feel like nibbling on anything.
He stood once more, stumbling over his own feet, as he made his way over to the mirror.
He simply couldn’t help but stop and stare at his disheveled appearance. Maka would slam the door on him if he were to show up at her doorstep looking so… revolting.
Spirit retrieved his hairbrush, combing through the knots with a few groans here and there. He yanked his toothbrush from out of its holder, dousing it in water before putting the needed toothpaste on its bristles, and cleaning his alcohol-stained teeth.
He leaned from left and right, dozing off a bit, and evidently still dizzy and lightheaded, as he tried his hardest to make it through the full two minutes.
……
Spirit sat at his round dining table, taking impressively slow and melodic bites of his toast, chewing just the same.
After finishing his food, he changed his clothes, just as slowly as he ate, into more comfortable, casual clothing. Everyday wear that excluded his usual suit and tie. The suit jacket would’ve felt much too clunky in his current state, anyway. The tie would’ve felt more like a noose than apparel.
He cleaned his appearance up further, rehearsing his future conversation with Maka religiously in his hungover head, taking some much needed painkillers before exiting his apartment.
His empty and lonely apartment.
……
“Who could that be?” Maka asked Soul in response to a knocking at their door, placing her book down onto the coffee table in front of her.
Soul shrugged his shoulders, curiously watching Maka as she opened the door.
As soon as Spirit laid eyes on her, his own eyes lit up. Her hair was actually down for once, resting delicately on her clearly tense shoulders. She, too, adorned casual clothing, as it was only a Saturday morning. Her eyes were filled with the same fiery determination they always were. She was truly adorable.
“Hey, Maka,” Spirit spoke nervously, behaving rather neurotically. He fiddled with the inseams of his pockets as he stared at her bothered face.
“What do you want?” She said with the same look of pure repulsion of which that mother and her son had shot at him as he hurled onto the dark street.
“I just wanted you to know that I didn’t give you that lingerie,” he began, removing his hands from his pockets and holding them up in mock defense.
“Well, who else could it have been, then? You put a handwritten card in the bag, you know,” Maka raised an eyebrow, grimacing at her father, of whom reeked of alcohol.
“It was Blair. I gave her the money to go get whatever book was your favorite, and she ended up buying underwear for herself, and just giving it to you,” Spirit explained, focused intently on piecing the story together coherently.
“Oh, dick move, man, blaming it on Blair… And of course, you don’t know what my favorite book is!”
She did not even give Spirit a chance, resorting to slamming the door in his face.
His head banged with the same energy as the creaky, wooden door. But no headache could compare to the pure heartache he experienced in that moment.
He simply stood there for a moment. Questioning why he even tried in the first place. She always was so quick to blame him, he was always her scapegoat. Perhaps it was because he’d never stop trying to win his daughter back, even if he was met with the cacophonous noise of the slamming of a door.
Whatever the reason had been, Spirit found himself pathetically trudging right back to the same bar Maka often scolded him about frequenting; Chupa Cabra’s.
This was Spirit’s own personal Hell. He was ultimately doomed to repeat the same cycle over and over again, never to obtain what he truly desired. He’d only ever see glimpses of what could’ve been and what could be.

Modern!genshin Dainsleif & Traveler au headcanons
READ TOP TEXT
K so I've been having a bit of a modern!genshin au brainrot where u have ReaderxSingleFather!Dain whos adopted the Lumi + Aether that are in high school so here are some headcanons for that :)
P.S. many ofsome of these aren't ReaderxDain they're just modern!au headcanons that would be a part of this universe :)
TW: Mentions of a car crash, parental neglect(not to reader, Dain, Aether, or Lumine tho)
*also its kinda longgg*
So lets pretend that you work in a cafe(yes ik another cafe au- very original but hang in there) across the street from where lumine and Aether go to school and you meet Dain when him and Aether come to pick up Lumine from her part time job at your place
You've already kinda started to look after Lumi in a little sister/niece kinda way then one day some v e r y attractive man come in with Aether and is introduced as their adoptive dad.....
.....H o l y S h i t
When I say the adrenaline/endorphin rush you had from the eye contact almost made you pop a circuit like a toaster in a bathtub I mean it-
He's V polite the entire encounter if a little dry-humored but you guys left off on a good note
He eventually starts "Visiting Lumine" at her job and picking her up at the end of her shifts to drive home even though their house is a short walking distance away
You also notice that even though he seems to have his adoptive daughters work schedule memorized he also always seems to come just a bit too early to chat(but he only talks w/you when there's little to no customers bc he knows you have a job to do)
The siblings lowkey ship after the first interaction....
And eventually....
Aether is gets a job at your place as well but strangely enough some "outside forces" in the siblings own personal schedules have conspired to give him staggered work times with Lumine rather than have them work at the same time...
This makes it so that Dain has to visit the cafe 2x as often to pick up his tiny cupid gremlins
You learn that Aether has a tiny yet loud all white corgi with a peach collar named Paimon that has a fear of water after she fell in a lake as a puppy
Some of the other hs students that also work at you cafe are Xiangling, a favorite of the customers, Diona, who you once caught trying to spit in drink order(It didn't work bc the spit kept falling back onto her lip or shirt), and Gaming who you're pretty sure has at least 2 other jobs than yours and does community service
All your tiny employees get along :)
You learn a lot more about Lumine and Aether's school life as well as the others as time goes on
Some of the most popular teachers and adults on campus seem to be:
Math teacher "Madam" Faruzan, who's a bit too strict on rules
AP World History Teacher Zhongli(who has infamously deadly long and boring lectures yet all his students pass with a B or higher)
Biology Teacher Alhaitham, who keeps 2 Giant Sulawesi snails in his classroom named Aranara and Ararycan, named by his preschool age adopted daughter Nahida, who he took in after his friend, Nahida's adult older sister died in a car crash.
He's also that one teacher that intentionally edits wiki pages so he knows when his students bs their papers....
Graphic Design Teacher Kaveh, that's engaged to Bio teacher Alhaitham and is considerably more laid back than his Fiance
They clearly love each other very much despite how much they bicker
The 2 gym teachers Kayea and Diluc who seem to have formed a rivalry and regularly pit their classes against each other in dodgeball matches(A boy named Bennett always seems to be tagged out first, and always headshot no less)
Principal Ningguang and Vice Principal Jean(who always seems to be overworked)
The only person more overworked than VP Jean is the school counselor Katheryne
Carpentry Teacher Xianyun who has two daughters of her own, Ganyu- who always sleeps in class no matter how much caffeine she drinks before hand, and Shenhe who has the highest max in weight lifting
AP Gov. teacher Neuvillette, who is apparently very popular despite the fact he gives the most detentions out of all the other teachers
Substitute drama teacher Furina who's a long term sub for the official Drama and Dance teacher Ms. Focalors
Nilou, the long term substitute for the Dance Team
Security guards Wriothesly and Dehya, who both once got an earful from Principal Ningguag for holding an arm-wresting tournament among students...
AP Music Theory teacher Venti, who's that one teacher that grades solely off how well he vibes with the students and not actual assignments
Librarian Lisa, who has amassed a collection of romance genre books more than any other in her workspace
Cyno, the English teacher with allllllll the dad jokes in the book(and has probably written his own pun book that he tells to the class)
Chemistry teacher Tighnari who has to constantly knock on the doors of other teachers classrooms to keep the noise level down since everyone knows the walls of school building are paper thin and he may just be slowly going deaf bc of it
Some of their peers include:
Amber, who was the first to befriend Lumine and Aether when they first started high school, despite being a grade higher than the siblings and having exactly 0 classes with them
Razor, a foreign exchange student that doesnt talk much but is best friends with Bennett(the dodgeball loser than manges to trip over anything, even the things that aren't there), and Fishcl, who's real name is Amy but hasn't let go of her imaginary childhood world yet(and good for her tbh)
Hu Tao, that one goth kid that used to tell all the others that "Ring-Around-the-Rosy" was about the black death during recess back in elementary school
Kunikuzushi, who has lesbian moms, Ei and Yae, as well as a younger sister, Raiden, who's still in middle school. He was neglected as a kid bc his biological mother, Ei favored his sister over him. He's very edgy but surprisingly doesn't get along with the other goths, Hu Tao, and a kid named Xiao
Xiao, who's a teachers pet to no one but Mr. Zhongli who fostered him as a child
Lyney and Lynette, who's favorite class is Drama, despite their frequent terrorizing of the substitute teacher, Furina, at their insistence that it's all because they want Ms. Focalors to return sooner
Albedo, who's highly introverted except in his debate club with a sole soft spot for his sister Klee(in kindergarten) and their mother Alice, a flight attendant who's not around much but calls every(and yes I do mean every night) night to check in via facetime to ask see if Albedo's making friends and to read ebook children's stories to Klee :)
Yoimiya, who was once given detention for an entire school quarter bc she set off a whole mess of fireworks on the football field
The ever rich Kamisato siblings who made the choice to go to a public school, rather than Snezhnaya, the rich Northern school across the way that has a principal even stricter than Ningguang, Faruzan, and Neuvillette combined, so harsh that her students have given her the name "Tsaritsa"........
please give me constructive criticisms on my hcs :) id love to know if you want a follow up for only school life or only romantic headcanons but it might take me a bit to get back on it :) (but please no nsfw)

okay okay hear me out:
you (mavericks daughter) is married to OUR LOVE BOB FLOYD and just the family dynamics of all of you (+ and rooster of course)
like imagine bobs face flushed adorbale red as the rest of the group tease him and mav just being happy you found love but still being still protective of his daughter
JUST AHHHHHHH. BRAIN ROT THAts taking up my life (+ i’m going to see top gun again on friday and i’m practically pregaming rn)
now i literally read a fic like this called the captain's daughter by @callsignhoney and that was truly amazing so if you need a proper fic, this is the one! but i will do my best to give you some headcanons of my own because this idea makes me go crazy :")
also i envy you so much rn i am so tempted to see top gun again but my parents would be having my head if they learn i wanna see it a third time-
when mav learned that the two of you were dating, i wouldn't say he necessarily had a fit, more so he was just worried for you
because he's self aware of the pain he caused for penny (thanks to amelia)
of course he knew bob was a good kid, so respectful and kind, but that didn't ease his worries
because he knows the risks of him being out there in the sky
despite these worries, he saw how happy you were when you were with bob so he left it alone and supported you two
rooster, being basically your adoptive brother, had all the same real concerns over you dating one of his fellow pilots
but he knew if he had to pick one person to date you, it would definitely be bob (or phoenix)
so he was glad to find out you two were a couple
could you imagine the heart attack he would have if he found out you liked hangman lmao
and when it came time, mav and rooster were approached by bob to ask for their blessing, they could feel their hearts burst
mav was honestly so proud and happy that bob even asked for his blessing
and rooster just smiled and clapped bob on the back in approval
"wow bob, i can't believe you're going all out-"
then mav gave him a fatherly smile and-
"i'm confident they'll accept your proposal and i'm glad you're gonna become a part of this family"
bradley nodded along as well but he leaned over to whisper in bobs ear
"but if you ever do anything to wrong them, you won't have to worry about mav, you're gonna have to deal with me"
and he just backs up and smiles at the man
bob of course is equal parts happy, wanting to cry of joy, and terrified of what he got himself into with your family
ultimately, you two tie the knot
you wanted to just elope and get married at the courthouse, but as soon as mav even heard of the idea, he begged you to at least have a small ceremony
and of course you caved for your father
so that small ceremony only included mav, rooster, penny, amelia, and the gang
yes it definitely took place on the porch behind the hard deck
and after the ceremony and reception, it was time for you and bob to head to your honeymoon destination
but before bob hopped in the car with you, he was confronted by both mav and rooster
and they all exchanged hugs (with mav a little teary eyed his kid is growing up so fast)
and then here came the fatherly lecture
"alright, you two be responsible while you're gone"
rooster cut in "that means wrap it before you tap it, floyd"
cue mav elbowing him and rolling his eyes
"not just that, but also being aware of your surroundings, drinking responsibly, you know the works- i want both of you coming home to us safely you hear me?"
and bob just smiles and "yes sir, i understand"
and off you two went
fast forward a couple years
even now, mav and rooster are still protective of you
the six of you (including pen and amelia) decided to have a little family hangout on the beach
and while bob and rooster were throwing the football with amelia and penny went to get some drinks, your dad approached and sat beside you
"so, he still treating you right?"
you just roll your eyes slightly and chuckle
and mav pats your shoulder and laughs as well
"you know he is, i feel like i should be asking if you're treating pen alright instead-" you just raise an eyebrow at him
and he blushes and rubs the back of his neck
"amelia would have my head if i wasnt, so i'd say i'm doing alright"
and before the conversation went further, a ball was tossed in your direction
to which, you caught
"hey! why don't yall get off your asses and come join us?"
heres some random hcs that don't really have a place in the above part-
bob, rooster, and mav will totally have a guys night together (and sometimes hangman, coyote, fanboy, and payback join as well)
before they leave bob gives you a kiss goodbye and rooster just yells back "i'll make sure this guy stays in line-"
to which bob smirks and "yeah if you're not going home with someone by the end of the night-"
mav just pats the both of them on the back and "alright we'll be back soon"
now when rooster finally settles down,,,
mav walking him down the aisle
and bob is definitely his best man
and eventually you and bob, rooster and his s/o, and mav and penny (w/amelia) go out on family vacations together
ooh i also imagine rooster is the first to have kids despite you being the one who got married first
so you and bob always offer to babysit
and his kids love when you two come over
you also witness how he is with kids and lemme just say this man was destined to be a dad
he treats them so gently and the way he's so enthusiastic about their interests makes your heart melt
eventually you two have a child (or two) of your own
and grandpa mav is just incredibly proud of his kids and the lives they built for themselves
alright imma cut myself off here because otherwise it'll be wayyy too long

(A Parent’s Love)
“Look, I’m not gonna say you have to love her or even forgive her, okay?” Kerry knew he was marrying a stubborn man, because he was also a stubborn man. Especially when it can to the oh so fun topic of family. “I’m just saying… she’s actively trying to reach out again. Think about it?”
Vax huffed and looked down, into his glass. He knew it had been years now since Vex left him. And it wasn’t like she had chosen an easier life working for Arasaka. It was the fact that she had abandoned him.
“I’ll think about it… but only for you.”
“No. You’ll think about it because she’s your sister. I’m not gonna lecture you or anything, I get family sucks. But she’s trying, V. At least give her that.”
Kerry was normally on V’s side when it came to matters like this. But for some reason, Vex was his line. He didn’t even know his sister in law and yet he felt the need to try and get V to let her into their lives.
“Why do you always defend her? You don’t know her.” Vax didn’t say it in a mean way, just genuinely curious. He laid back into Kerry’s side and looked up at him.
Kerry took a deep breath.
“Because I know why she did what she did. It wasn’t to hurt you or make you mad… she did it because she wanted the best life she could possibly give her daughter. And I have to respect her for it. And if that meant she had to go to the dark side then so be it.” Kerry rested his arm over V’s shoulder, but didn’t look at him.
V stared up at his husband for a while, the man was impossible to read but V understood.
“You think she did the right thing?”
“No. Didn’t say that. I’m just saying she did what every parent would have done… not that she should have had to make a decision like that at such a young age. But she protected her baby in that moment… Arasaka probably provided some form of security and money she couldn’t have gotten on the streets.”
There was a sadness in Kerry’s eyes that told Vax this ran deeper than his sister. He shifted and pressed a hand to Kerry’s chest, pulling back to fully look at him.
“Do you think you did the right thing for your kids?” Kerry’s mask broke when those words came out and his face fell. He looked away from V.
“I did what I thought was best in the moment. Sound familiar?”
V wasn’t sure if he agreed with Kerry comparing himself to Vex, but wasn’t sure how to feel now.
“Do you regret it?”
“Every fuckin’ day.” Kerry’s voice was quiet, his eyes traveling to a picture on the shelf. “Kim’s turn 11 this year, Ted’s turning 17.”
“Why did you two divorce?” He had his theories but he hated assuming things about his husband and believing screamsheets was not something he did often.
Kerry took a deep breath. “We got together way too fast. Puppy love. She got pregnant with Ted after a few years of on and off… we got married. The arguing and cheating started when Ted was five, had Kim a few years later to try and save what we had… didn’t work. Filed for a divorce and was on a plane back here as soon as possible.” Kerry was still staring at the picture. V could see it was a soul deep wound being away from them.
“You ever… wish it had worked out?”
“‘Course I do, babe… everyone doesn’t want their marriage to fail. Told Johnny it had lasted too long… but shit sometimes I wonder what our lives would be like if Lou and I had been happy. Ted would hate me a lot less that’s for sure.”
V frowned. Not because of what Kerry said but because he knew that Kerry had regrets he couldn’t fix with his family. Ted hating him and being like him killed Kerry, and Kim wanting him and being upset that he wasn’t around was just salt to the wound.
“You know why I left so quick?” Kerry finally looked back at his husband, squeezing his thigh. “Because I thought I was doing what was best for my kids.”
V raised a brow, urging him to continue.
“Towards the end, I was high more often than not. Staying at the studio or somethin’ so the kids didn’t see me like that. I was reverting back to my old ways, drugs, drinking, partying till the sun came up… I missed Ted’s seventh birthday party… I had to lie to my own son to save what little dignity I had left. And he believed every word. And that’s when I knew I was only gonna get worse, and if I hurt one of my kids, became like my father, I’d never forgive myself… Louise filed for divorce a month later.”
V rested his head on Kerry’s shoulder, letting him finish while he soaked it in.
“Moral of the story, parents do stupid shit to keep their kids happy and safe.” Kerry finished off V’s forgotten drink, then looked down at him.
“Would you ever wanna see them? Your kids I mean?”
“V… I’d go back in time and change every bad thing I did if that meant I got to keep my kids.” Kerry moved some hair from V’s face. “I love you, and in a perfect world I could have you and them. But the world isn’t perfect, and Louise refers to you as a boytoy.”
“She’s just mad she’s not having amazing sex every week.” Kerry snorted and kissed V’s forehead.
“In all seriousness, talk to Vex. Invite her and… shit what’s her name again?”
“Victoria?”
“Yeah! Invite them somewhere. We can all go on a… family dinner I guess?”
“Shit that’s right… She’s your sister in law. Victoria is your niece! How’s that feel?”
“It’ll feel a lot better when I get to meet them.”
V could tell that Kerry was done talking about it. About kids and family. They had gotten way too off topic for his taste.
“Wanna comes shower with your boytoy?” V teased, standing up.
“Sweetheart, Archangel is in our room… if I ever say no to that question, I want you to use it on me.” V grinned and pulled his husband with him towards the bathroom. At the end of the day, they had a family, they were no longer alone… the outside world could wait.

The Problem with Virginity and Jane Austen
Long post and discussions of sex, non-graphic mention of sexual assault
There was a really thought provoking post by @anghraine which has me thinking about the male heroes and sex in Jane Austen’s novels.
From a modern perspective, I think it can be nicer to imagine that all of the Austen hero men, Darcy, Knightley, Brandon, Wentworth, Tilney, Bingley, Edward, and Edmund, are virgins. After all, they live in a pre-birth control era and syphilis is running rampant. None of us want to imagine Elizabeth’s nose falling off twenty years down the road or Catherine bumping into a very familiar looking child in Woodston village. (and yes, I’m well aware they had some forms of birth control but nothing like today, women were desperate for what we have today, it’s a modern miracle)
I am no sociologist, but I have observed a lot of human behaviour from the present and a lot of sex is had, and unsafe sex too. Teenagers are wild. I also know from church records in the period that many people “anticipated their vows” because there are a miraculous number of babies born within a few months of their parents marrying who live to tell the tale. I also know that London was full of prostitutes and many high and wealthy men had mistresses, sometimes very publically. The navy had problems with homosexual sex (which may have been a social acceptance problem or a rape problem *ahem* modern military) and with a lot of prostitution occuring on shore (source: Brian Southam who wrote a wonderful book called Jane Austen and the Navy) It was a work hard, party hard sort of lifestyle, as we can see below in this Thomas Rowlandson painting:
Tumblr media
So the least likely to be a virgin in my mind is Wentworth, with his eight years of success at sea, followed by Brandon, who was stationed abroad in the military, also trying to get over a lost love, and Knightley, based on age alone (he is the oldest at 38).
Now on to the big issue, are we readers wishing virginity on the Jane Austen men for the right reasons? Syphilis and natural children aside, I grew up in a church that pushed the purity gospel and it is not good. It messes people up. They are now writing books about what it did to people. So I don’t want to force puritanical ideals on Jane Austen’s heroes just because I was taught some very harmful rhetoric.
I personally know men who waited for marriage, but they also tended to marry early (22-25). In most churches who teach this message, both men and women marry because they want to have sex (even though we aren’t supposed to do that, I know, it’s very shocking s/). So I can see Edmund and Edward being virgins on their wedding nights because they are both religious and both quite young (plus a secret engagement formed when Edward was 19). Even Bingley might be, though he seems much more out in the world. But the older these men get and still seem indifferent to marrying, I think they are getting something elsewhere. (they may also have low libido, this is very possible and not discussed enough but I can only say so much in one post)
I listened to a lecture once about if Darcy is a virgin which ended with the professor saying, “Of course not, he went to university” and he then explained that a lot of drinking and sex was happening at these places. Now we know Darcy looked down on what Wickham was doing at Cambridge, but was this because Darcy was going about it “the right way” while Wickham was seducing tradesmen’s daughters and servants? Possible too.
It is also possible that some of these Hero Austen men might have a mistress down the road. If you want to have sex, there is always a possibility of having a baby. Lady Bertram, with her perfect four child family, might well have told Sir Thomas to start looking elsewhere. I have read a letter from a woman in this century who sent her husband away because she had five babies in five years and she was done. It’s just a whole different concept than today. There was no “trying” for a baby, you had sex and babies came. But add to that half a family being swept away in sudden illness, you were relying on those extra children to make it to adulthood. Women faced being pregnant constantly for 15-20 years!
So yes, I would like the Austen men to be virgins (and I really think basically all the unmarried women we meet are), but I think it’s a desire heavily influenced by my own upbringing and the Victorian era. Henry Crawford, who is morally dubious but still, completely separates love and sex in his mind. That is something that seems crazy to us today, but the aristocracy at the time seem to share this view. You have a wife, you treat her “right” and you have a mistress on the side. Somehow, in this era, that was accepted as okay.
I agree that Jane Austen probably wasn’t on board with a lot of this, but she also wasn’t privy to those conversations that we would also need to hear to have a full view of the era. Were the men bragging about sexual conquests when the women left after dinner? Was a good husband one who kept a mistress and didn’t let anyone know? Or one who didn’t get the servants pregnant? Or was it good enough not to mess with your own class? (Darcy did not decide to warn the lower class people of Meryton about Wickham, are those women below his notice?) Everyone is horrified by the treatment of Eliza Williams, but if Willoughby had provided a hundred a year for the baby would he be okay? Emma seems to approve of what Harriet’s father has done in her maintenance.
I just don’t know.

A Dream Come True - Ch. 10
Ch 10 - One Last Hurrah
The ghosts celebrate one last hurrah at Woodstone and make plans for their next great adventure.
AO3
The next few days went by surprisingly fast as everyone hung out and talked about their plans.  The wedding lead much of the discussion as they helped Pete and Laura prepare for it.  The wedding went wonderfully with Pete being thrilled to walk his daughter down the aisle and everyone enjoyed themselves as they celebrated something good for them.
Luckily, today was about the ghosts and their farewell to Woodstone.
Of course, it wouldn’t be forever.  They would always be welcomed at Woodstone and naturally, some of them were staying.  Isaac, Hetty and Thor couldn’t bear to leave right away.  Thor because of his son, his fishing business would be anchored near the mansion.  Isaac because he needed more time to adjust and figure out how he could be a history teacher.  It would take more time since he doesn’t quite have the credentials, but Jay had been looking into getting him in as a guest lecturer.  Hetty because Woodstone is her home.  She had never ventured out before, and despite wanting to go to Paris, couldn’t bear to leave Sam.  She was delighted to be helpful with the B&B, instead.
Pete would be getting himself set up in the little barn that Laura had on her property.  It was a studio apartment that they rent out to college students in Philly but had opted to give it to Pete so that he could be present without being overbearing.  He had plans to do some research into what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.  One thing he had decided on was that he wanted to focus on Laura and little Pete.
Alberta had taken her new identification and promptly sat down with Alicia to plan out their first steps into the music world.  They had lined up at least one show the following week, and hoped to spawn more as they planned to follow where the music leads them.  It wouldn’t be easy, but Alberta was excited to already have a gig.
Tomorrow, Trevor would be bringing Flower back to her brothers’ place and had opted to bring Sass home with him.  After talking to Shiki (and helping her ascend), Sass had decided that he didn’t really want to stay at the Woodstone, and even though Trevor didn’t plan to go on the road for a couple of months, he figured that Sass could stay with him at his parents’ place.
But for now, the party is in full swing – all of the ghosts, aside from Steph as the age difference makes more of a difference now, are in attendance.  The music changes to match each ghost with each new song, which meant groaning when Alberta’s music comes (they had all heard enough of it from her) and wincing when the more classically outdated music of Hetty or Isaac’s time comes on.  It’s such a dramatic change, but it’s fun.
In addition to the music, Jay had gone all out with the different foods.  Despite the fact that they’ve been alive for a week and had gotten to eat the things they’d been craving, Jay had made all of their favorites.  He had also made sure to get whatever alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks anyone had shown an interest in.
Trevor could admit that he had originally wanted to go crazy with the drinks but had admitted that he did not want another early grave and chose to take it easy.
“So, have you thought about any particular places for your road trip?” Jay questions as he joins Trevor with Sass and Pete, once again chatting about their plans for their new lives.
Sass, like Trevor, is the most lost on where to go and what to do, so planning their road trip is exactly what they need to do.
“If you’re asking if Boston’s on the list – you know it is,” Trevor offers.  “We are friends, after all.”
Jay elbows him.  “That’s not why I was asking.  I’m curious – much of the states have changed in recent years, there’s a lot of travel and different places to go.”
“We don’t have much of plan except for wanting to hit all of the fifty states,” Sass says.
“How’re you going to drive to Hawaii?” Jay questions.
“We’re not that dumb, Jay,” Trevor teases.  “We’ll just fly, but I have heard that you can put the car on a boat, but flying makes more sense.”
“And you’re going to drive through Canada to get to the wilderness of Alaska?”
“We can visit Canada, too,” Trevor offers.  “The truth is we don’t really have a plan.  That’s what the next two months are for – planning.”
“And making sure that I can drive, too,” Sass offers.  “Apparently, Jeremy said he’s going to teach me how to drive.”
“I offered, but Jeremy says my skills are ‘rusty’ and promptly signed us both up for a driver’s ed refresher course.”
Jay laughs.  “Probably a good idea – it has been a while.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Trevor says, waving it away.  “Anyway, any places you think we should stop?”
“Oh, well, there’s been a few places that I’ve always wanted to go to, mainly national parks like Zion, Glacier, Yosemite…”
“Somehow I didn’t think of you as a nature lover,” Trevor states.
“I love it – I love nature,” Sass states.
“Yes, we know – hence, your hi tree.”
“Will you stop with the hi tree,” Sass asks.  “I can’t commit to spending the next several months with you if you do not let go of the hi tree nonsense.”
“Maybe that’s what I’m secretly trying to do,” Trevor teases, although he doesn’t mean it.  “You know – there’s going to be a lot of construction going on with the whole ‘building a restaurant in the barn’, so you could probably spare a couple of weeks – hire some teenager or someone nearby to make the breakfasts for the guests and tag along with us.”
“I thought this was your soul-searching trip?” Jay asks.  “Doesn’t that seem like a solo trip?”
“Sass is already coming, and it might be good for you, too.  Especially with how hard it’s been for you in the last couple of years,” Trevor states.  “I kind of feel responsible for that since it was my fight with the vase – which I won – that caused you to stay, and Sam not be able to go back to the city with her ability to see ghosts.”
           “I don’t want you to feel obligated…”
“Well, I was …” he takes a breath.  “Also, thinking it would give us time to bond.  In case, something were to happen with Bela – now that I’m … alive again.  If and when I’m ready to date someone.”
Before Jay can respond, Sass asks, “Would that make me the third wheel?  Because I don’t want to be that.”
“Maybe Pete can come?” Jay asks.  “Then no one’s third wheeling it?  At least for a couple of weeks during the trip?”
Pete grins.  “Golly gee, I think that would be a lot of fun.”
“I’m game if you are – it could be a ghosts’ road trip,” Trevor smiles.
“I like the sound of that, except I was never a ghost,” Jay says.
“You’re an honorary ghost, Jay.  Always have been – just because you couldn’t hear us doesn’t mean we love you as much as you love us,” Trevor says with a grin.
           Jay grins.  “Then, I’m in.”
He raises his glass and says, “Here’s to a ghosts’ road trip.”
           “Cheers!”
***
Goodbyes were never easy, and this one was surprisingly hard.  Trevor always thought it’d be easy to leave Woodstone behind for the world he craved and had dreamed of life beyond the property.  Despite knowing they’ll be back someday, it’s not the same as it’d been last week when they left for a brighter future – knowing that it would only be a few days.
This time it would be a lot longer.
This time the goodbyes felt much stronger, more final.
Even though they would facetime and text – even though he and Jay had taught all of the ghosts – particularly, the older ones – how their phones work so that they could stay in contact, but it just wasn’t the same as seeing each other every day.
“You feel it too, huh?” Sass asks as he puts the bags in the trunk.
Trevor can see Pete and Alberta doing the same with their cars.
“Yeah, it just feels a bit different.”
“After years of wanting to be without each other, suddenly…” Sass trails off.
“But even though it’s difficult, it’s still a dream come true – we’re getting a new lease on life and staying here when we have the world as our oyster would be...”
“Wasting it,” Sass finishes.  “Yeah, but it’s still bittersweet.”
“It was always going to be.”
           “Yeah.”
Their moment of bittersweetness ends when Flower comes over to drag them back to the house for one final toast and hugs goodbye.
Sam hands them glasses of champagne as they enter.  “In the living room.”
Trevor, Sass and Flower join Thor, Isaac and Hetty as they wait quietly for the other two former ghosts to join them.  It only takes a minute before they are joined by the others, Sam and Jay.
“I know that this has been a dream come true for all of you and I want you know that no matter how nutty you drove me, I’m going to miss you,” Sam says.
“Yeah, and you may not be my favorite invisible bastards anymore, but I am so happy I can actually see you now and – and – I am so happy that you all get this opportunity for a new lease on life even if I’m going to miss you,” Jay adds.
There’s some light chuckling, but it seems like someone on the ghosts’ side should speak up, so Trevor clears his throat and says, “We may not have seemed the most grateful bunch – mainly because we weren’t,” he stops at the chuckling.  “But we are so grateful to you both. You made our afterlives better and we may be leaving for the next great adventure, but that doesn’t mean we won’t miss you, too.”
He lifts his glass, “To Sam and Jay – the best livings we could’ve asked for.”
           “To Sam and Jay!”
They all toast and take a sip.
“And to our ghosts,” Jay starts.  “Here’s to your next great adventure wherever that may be.”
           “Cheers!”

Warning: mentions of underage drinking
The wind was rustling through the trees in the Parkins' garden on the border of Wigtown. Dana let her feet dangle in the cool water of the garden pond and lay back on the red-and-white chequered picnic blanket with a content sigh.
Next to her, Nova, Scarlett and Saffron - Dana's three best friends from school - had their own ways of appreciating the hot summer day. Scarlett was lounging in the sun in a black bikini and shades covering half of her face. Nova and Saffron were busy discussing the flawless handiwork of the macarons Nova's dad had made for Dana's birthday.
Dana turned onto her stomach, happy to have her friends with her. Scarlett and Nova would leave tomorrow, while Saffron would stay with Dana and her family. The Parkins would be taking a Portkey to the finals of the Quidditch World Cup in Argentina tomorrow night. Since Dana wasn't too fond of the family sport, she had been allowed to bring a friend.
The thought of the World Cup made Dana's smile falter. It wasn't so much that she had to go and watch a sport she didn't enjoy with the most fanatic family on the planet, but the prospect of who would be joining them. As always for big events like these, her parents would meet up with the family of Dana's godmother. Spending time with the Amaris had always been something to look forward to for Dana. This time, however, the thought of listening to her aunt Skye's lecture on why it was a scam that Scotland hadn't even qualified for the tournament - again - suddenly had a strange appeal.
Dana's mind was taken off her glum thoughts when the patio door opened and her mother stepped into the garden. Penny Parkin was wearing a white summer dress with yellow sunflowers, looking just like the pattern Nova had painted onto Dana's nails this morning. A tray with homemade lemonade and a plate of sliced watermelons was floating behind her as she made her way over to where the girls were sitting in the grass.
"I brought you some snacks," Penny beamed and sat the tray down on the picnic blanket. Dana thought she would be leaving again, but instead, her mother sat down on the blanket next to Nova.
"So, what's the news?" she said in a conversational tone and began filling the glasses with lemonade. "How has your year been?"
Scarlett, Nova and Saffron each told her politely about their previous year at Hogwarts, and Penny nodded knowingly. When they were done, Penny lowered her voice, a mischievous sparkle in her eyes. "And what about the interesting things?" She winked. "You know, the boys and all?"
Dana felt her cheeks go red. "Mum," she groaned, "please don't."
"What?" Penny asked, looking surprised. "You can tell me. We've all been there, haven't we? I won't judge, I promise. I'm not like other mums. I'm a cool mum."
"Mum!" Dana said vehemently. She pointedly looked at the house. "Don't you need to check on the food or something?"
Taking the hint, Penny rose to her feet, a slight dusting of pink on her cheeks. "Of course. Once Dad and Maisie are home from practice, we'll get the barbecue started, is that alright? Don't worry," she said, directed at Saffron and Nova, "I've got all the vegan options for the two of you."
"Thank you, Mrs Parkin," Saffron smiled broadly.
"You shouldn't have," Nova agreed. "The sides would have been fine."
"Don't mention it," Penny smiled back. Her eyes went back to her daughter, taking on an uncertain expression. "Are you sure you don't want me to send a Patronus to Lizzie and ask them to come? We've got enough food and drinks, and I bet they'll love to -"
"We've been over this, Mum," Dana said with a strained voice. "It's fine."
"But it will be the first time we'll celebrate your birthday without them."
"I have my friends here; that's really all I need. Dylan's probably busy showing his little girlfriend some stupid mountains anyway."
"Oh?" Penny said, a curious look forming on her face. "Dylan has a girlfriend? You never said a word."
Dana bit the insides of her cheeks, wishing she hadn't brought it up as her mother sat down again. Penny's voice grew soft. "Is there anything you want to talk about, sweetie?"
Dana glanced at her friends, who were suddenly very busy looking at their phones or - in Saffron's case - an ant making its way to the plate with watermelons.
"It's fine," she said curtly. "Forget I said anything."
"You know you can always talk to me."
"I said it's fine," Dana repeated, more harshly than she had meant.
Penny looked taken aback by the sudden sharpness in her daughter's voice. Dana thought she wanted to say something, but before she could, Saffron spoke up.
"Don't worry, Mrs Parkin," she said, her voice lowered conspiratorially. "I already gave Dana a rose quartz."
Penny frowned. "A rose quartz? Isn't that for love?"
"And heartache," Saffron sighed, not minding the dark look Dana was giving her.
"Did you hear that? Sounded like someone Apparating, must be Dad and Maisie. Better go check," Dana said, furiously hoping that her mother would just leave.
"Uh, yes, sure. Must be them," Penny mumbled and got up. With a last look at Dana, she turned and walked back to the house. When she was out of ear-shot, Dana exhaled audibly.
Next to her, Nova sniggered. "Gosh, I love your mum."
"Speak for yourself."
"She just wanted to be nice."
"I know," Dana sighed. "It's just that sometimes she's a little too nice. And nosy."
"Well," Nova said, more softly now, "do you want to talk about Dylan?"
Dana grimaced. "It's my birthday. Can we just not?"
"Sure," Scarlett said and reached for her bag. She pulled out a gleaming silver flask, unscrewed it and poured its content into each of the girls' glasses. Looking at Dana for a second, she added another swig. "Let's rather drink on your birthday. Who needs those bloody blokes when we have each other?"
"Cheers to that," Nova said flatly and raised her glass.
Their conversation soon drifted off to other topics. Nova, Dana and Scarlett were enjoying their watermelon, macarons and spiked lemonade, but Saffron had gone oddly quiet. When she looked over, Dana was astounded to see that Saffron had taken hold of the plate where they had discarded their watermelon seeds. She was holding it on her lap and busy digging little holes in the ground. Into each hole, Saffron popped a watermelon seed and lovingly spread the soil over it again.
"Saff," Dana said slowly, "what in Merlin's name are you doing there?"
"Giving the Earth Mother back what is hers," Saffron replied with a serene smile, never stopping her planting. "She gave us these watermelons to enjoy, and now we must give her something back. The cycle must always continue."
Saffron must have been at it longer than any of them had noticed because several small heaps of earth were already surrounding her. Dana counted them, and her eyebrows rose.
"At the rate you're going, there'll be a whole field of watermelons here next year."
"We can all go and harvest them then," Saffron smiled. "The cycle, you know?"
"If that means you'll come back for my birthday next year, I say that's a great idea," Dana smiled back, took a seed from the plate and put it into the ground next to the one Saffron had just planted. She handed Nova and Scarlett a handful of seeds as well and - after Dana had given a reluctant Scarlett a pointed look - both girls planted some watermelons of their own.
"The things I do for you," Scarlett sighed, looking disapprovingly at the earth on her fingernails. She shrugged and reached for her lemonade.
"Cheers," she said and raised her glass in the direction of her friends, who did the same. "To Dana's birthday, friends, and watermelons."

hey guys welcome to the shook character intro masterpost, yes this will be updated when i inevitably make more, cry about it-
anyways let's get on with it:
Vara Dorobo: A 26 year old catgirl with a knack for stealing. Arrested for stealing a large gem from a museum, though the gem has not yet been recovered. Overly flirtatious and crass. Hates her brother in law Saino but loves her nephew Piero.

Chiyoko Meiwaku: A 33 year old woman with a love for alcohol. Works as a defense lawyer, and is surprisingly good at her job, though she allegedly only tries her hardest if she's sure her client is innocent. Very laid back and prefers to drink alone or just with a few friends.
Saino Seiryu: A 30 year old man who loves flowers. Owns a small plant nursery that he runs with his wife Keina. Quiet and seems to be shy, but is actually quite the opposite. Hates Vara, but is happily married to Keina, and has a son named Piero.
Piero Seiryu: A 6 year old catboy who loves the outdoors. Attends the elementary/middle school his mother works at. Very curious and innocent. Has a small collection of bucket hats.
Keina Seiryu: A 31 year old catgirl who always gives things her all. Works as a secretary at an elementary/middle school. Often underestimated or put down, but does her best regardless. Kind but stern and competent. Cares about Vara, but is still a bit disappointed in her.
Grace Traupe: An 18 year old girl who spends a good 80% of her life being anxious. Arrested after she ran over her father while trying to learn how to drive, which was an accident but literally everyone else in her family hates her. A human bundle of nerves, and is almost always on edge. Has grown attached to Chiyoko.
Saori Sukui: A 39 year old woman who leads a cult. Arrested for the murder and complete mutilation of several people. Still trying to recruit new members, despite being literally in prison. Cold but charismatic. Makes and collects straw dolls.
Brigitte Von Couronne: A 26 year old woman who co-owns and runs a bodyguard for hire business. Came to Florida on a job, and got stranded after the client was arrested. Claims to be royalty, but she's only technically nobility at best. Confident and competent. The straight man.
Dao'shin Hudisha: A 29 year old man who co-owns and runs a bodyguard for hire business. Came to Florida on a job, and got stranded after the client was arrested. Still a bit scared around women, but keeps it internalized. Skilled and curt but polite. The funny man.
Miumehime Asaiume: A 28 year old woman with an... Eccentric personality. Was arrested for impersonating law enforcement. Claims to be a foreign princess, as well as a police officer. Seemingly not at all concerned about her current predicament. Finds Brigitte and Dao'shin to be amusing.
Carmine Chatarra: A 45 year old and very shady woman. Arrested for driving with an expired license. Sells used cars for a living, but is allegedly involved in other more questionable things as well. Somehow knows general info about everyone in the prison.
Ellie ______: A 34 year old woman who is surrounded by mystery. Arrested for assault and battery... probably. Selectively mute, and chooses to not use sign language despite knowing it. Seems put off by Carmine, but has taken a bit of a liking to Miumehime.
James Spill: A 31 year old man with a love for video game preservation. Arrested for mass piracy and distribution of said pirated materials. Very active in online forums. Cynical and a bit of a jerk at times. In a long distance relationship with Mira.
Mira Terebigēmu: A 29 year old woman who enjoys making and modding video games. Lives in California. Very active online. Kind of an ass, but a solid friend. Very close with her younger brother. Has definitely modded Sumi into several Street Fighter games. In a long distance relationship with James.
Erika Spire: A 23 year old woman who really just wanted to go skydiving one weekend. Arrested for breaking the obscure law of being a single woman parachuting on a Sunday in Florida. Athletic, social and a bit goofy. Her bestie was also arrested for the same crime.
Hayate Wazawaza: A 29 year old woman with a knack for finding a scoop. Works as a free-lance reporter with both a news blog and YouTube channel. Is always sneaking into the prison to try and get some interviews. Persistent and comes on strong, but values honest reporting above all else. Best friend is Tomoyasu.
Tomoyasu Taki: A 28 year old man with a love of all sorts of stories. Works as a free-lance camera man with Hayate. Always keeps the cameras rolling, incase anything interesting happens. Quiet and prefers not to speak if possible. Has been crushing on Hayate for years, but doesn't want to ruin their already great relationship.
Mae Okane: A 29 year old woman at the top of the business world. Has moved the main branch of her company to Florida due to it's strong tourist economy. Cold and stern while on the job, but much more relaxed and personable while off the clock. Still can't die. Hasn't had a single successful relationship, and is very depressed by that fact.
Aleino Rinri-Teki: A 35 year old man with a gift for biology. Still lives in Japan, but no longer works for the SPW. Found work elsewhere somehow, and has done nothing but make massive strides in his field since. Cynical and smug. William's superior, much to his amusement.
William Akumu: A 38 year old man with a gift for chemistry. Still lives in Japan, but is no longer imprisoned (sorta). Found work alongside Aleino due to their talent and experience working together. Cold, calm, and collected. Aleino's subordinate, much to his annoyance.

Mario Legacy Challenge: 1986 (Part 1)
Last year, Jumpman's boss Harrison Gibbs told him that the circus where they work will start traveling around the world. Meanwhile, his sons Mario and Luigi mastered their toddler skills.
Tumblr media
Harrison has come to the Marios' house to pick up Jumpman so they can leave. Jumpman is still asleep so Lady has come to open the door. She also explains to Harrison that Jumpman would need to finish packing before he's ready to leave. Lady let's Harrison stay inside their apartment to wait.
Tumblr media
And yes, Jumpman has agreed to join the circus in their travels and not lose his job. While he has to spend longer periods of time away from home, he still gets to return home multiple times per year.
Tumblr media
This is the lot used for the circus. I also changed the lot type from residential to bar in order to use it without Sims actually living there (and changing it to generic would make nobody show up).
I didn't actually play every trip, just this first one and then a later one that's more plot relevant. The others can be assumed to take place off-screen.
Tumblr media
Their first destination is certainly a much more natural location than Brooklyn. Some time before the first show, Jumpman and the others have some drinks.
Tumblr media
During Jumpman's first performance, he spots Tony among the audience. He has come all the way to this place to watch this show (or maybe he also has another reason to be here, idk).
Tumblr media
Harrison is already thinking about the next flight. Being the owner of the circus, he's the one who has to take care of arranging all the travels.
Tumblr media
While Jumpman is on his first work trip, his daughter Pauline spends more time with her classmate Kayla. In fact, the two are best friends now.
Tumblr media
The first bunch of shows is now over. He feels kind of stressed from the work, but he's happy about being promoted (which I assume is a direct result of the circus starting to travel to different locations).
Tumblr media
Yet his moment of happiness of being back home has been ruined by Emmalyn playing loud music in her apartment... really? Just as he's back home? Fortunately, after Jumpman complains about the noise, Emmalyn instantly turns the music down.
Tumblr media
Mario has taken off his clothes yet again... Jumpman thought the kid had already grown out of this phase but apparently not. Jumpman has to lecture him about the misbehavior. But also, Mario has become interested in video games (maybe he heard about them through daycare or something) and wants to have a gaming console.
Tumblr media
Before Jumpman leaves for his next work trip, he wants to have some private romantic time with his wife. But it's hard with the kids around... will they ever have some time with just the two of them again?
Tumblr media
Still, Jumpman does appreciate the time he gets to spend with his family, especially now that he's away from home for longer periods of time.
Tumblr media
And of course, whenever Jumpman is back home, it means Lady doesn't have to take care of 3 kids, household chores and repairing broken objects all on her own. Right now, they can have each parent focus on a different twin.
Tumblr media
Luigi seems to be interested in books now. I guess he has started learning to read and can't wait to be able to fully read books on his own.
Tumblr media
One day after school, Pauline invites over her classmate Isaac. She tells him about her personal life goals... which seems to involve banana peels for some reason. Some kind of Mario Kart foreshadowing?
Tumblr media
Jumpman returns home feeling tired after a long flight.
Tumblr media
Lady starts feeling flirty as Jumpman returns home. So before Jumpman goes to sleep, the two have a romantic moment together.
Tumblr media
Jumpman also tells her about the most recent trip. This time, the destination was a tropical island with lots of sunshine.
Tumblr media
Pauline tries to have a friendly conversation with Emmalyn, but unfortunately Pauline still has a grudge from that one awkward conversation from about a year ago. It must have been very awkward if Pauline still feels this way.
Tumblr media
Emmalyn has come over and suggests to Lady that the two should visit the local art gallery at some point. After all, it is probably Lady's favorite place to visit in the city.
Tumblr media
Mario brings up gaming again. He must really want an NES! Right now, the Marios don't even have a TV yet. But things may be changing soon.
Tumblr media
Pauline and Kayla go to a park together. They spend some time playing space explorer and then playing chess (helping Pauline work on her mental skill, which is currently her lowest of the 4 fundamentals).
Tumblr media
As for other people here, we have teens Erin Yee (daughter of Jumpman's friend Lana Yee) and Caden (a random character who hasn't been seen in this LP before and probably won't appear again). Caden tries to impress Erin, but it doesn't go very well. Still, Caden seems to be quite happy. As he leaves the park, he thinks about a plane, so he's probably from some more distant location.
Tumblr media
Lady and Emmalyn have gone to the art gallery as planned. They are looking at a statue, which seems to be a new addition to the gallery.
Tumblr media
Another work trip is over. While at home, Jumpman is still thinking about a recent performance, which involved drums in some way.
Tumblr media
Mario is wondering when he will finally be able to use the toilet. Pauline says that it will be when he's about as big as a dinosaur or something. Obviously an exaggeration.
Tumblr media
Mario says that he's sure he'll be able to do it before his dad's next flight leaves. And he might be right. After all, Mario and Luigi are nearly six years old at this point.
Tumblr media
Mario wakes up at 3 AM feeling quite playful. As so, he decides to spend the night stacking blocks.
Tumblr media
However, too much playing makes Mario get angry. He starts screaming, which also wakes up his brother.
Tumblr media
As for Pauline, at 11 years old, she is getting bored by toys.
For the rest of the year, see this post.
