Honky-Tonk Country Traditionalist Ben Fugate &; The Burning Trash Band Announce New Self-Titled EP

Honky-tonk country traditionalist and Appalachian singer-songwriter Ben Fugate & The Burning Trash Band are excited to announce their new eight song self-titled EP from Louisville-based sonaBLAST! Records, due out on Friday, April 12. Leading up to that release date, the Eastern Kentucky sextet will release the EP’s first two singles, a rerecording of Fugate’s signature song “Dream Song #1” on February 09, followed by the quirky tale of running into the law on “County Fuzz” on March 08, the latter which Fugate is planning to shoot his first ever music video for. “This album is a big departure from my garage days with just one mic,” said Fugate. “We aimed to reflect our unique sound, while drawing inspiration from country legends, and I believe we’ve captured that essence!” Proudly hailing from Hazard, Kentucky, Fugate first began amassing a sizable following on his Tik Tok channel in 2020 by just simply singing a number of classic country and southern rock song favorites, along with a few of his originals. In 2021 Fugate released his debut EP by Sonder House, Pronounced Appa-Latch-Uh, where the title track has garnered more than 100,000 spins on Spotify, firmly solidifying a growing interest among his listeners and fans. In 2021, Fugate was discovered by Louisville-based Entrepreneur, Community Organizer, Filmmaker and sonaBLAST! Records founder Gill Holland. 17. Followers: 27! And thank you, it feels like every day I wake up with an email saying “You have a new follower!” Brightens my day.

18. Average hours of sleep: My husband and I will go to bed close to 10:00 (with the puppy) and then wake up at 6:30 so he can get ready for work and I can take care of the puppy. So a good 8 hours usually.

19. What am I wearing: A purple dress for work.

26. Last book I read: Thrawn by Timothy Zahn (yeah, I read the Star Wars novels and unashamed).

27. Top three fictional universes I want to join: 1. Star Wars - My friend and I are actually writing a fan comic in which we are basically self-insert characters, but not quite as 5th grade.

2. Avatar: The Last Airbender - What I wouldn’t give to be a bender *-* this show is my favorite. Watch it at least 1-2 times a year.

3. Prince of Tennis - Probably just because the Seigaku guys were my imaginary friends when I had none and I’d love to just go say thank you.

Day 334: Thursday November 30, 2017 - “Sol-lee-da”

Won us some free tickets to the Globe Hall tonight to see a name Id recognized - Ben Sollee, and his new project “Kentucky Native”.  The openers were this really funny gang called the Parlor Pickers, and after we about died en route (read: turning into the wrong way of interstate exit), we needed some good funny to loosen it back up!   The BBQ and PBR combo helped in that department.

Ben came out with his gang of pickers, and his shoe untied, and played an artful spread of bluegrass and folk songs unlike anything we’ve seen before.  Strapped into cello and backed up by a fiddle, a stand up bass, a banjo, and an improvised percussion guitar - the eclectic set made for a memorable night of new music and a different experience.  2 for 2 at the Globe Hall.   Really appreciated the free tickets.  He ended the set by playing Something Somewhere Sometime, my favorite of his that was part of the soundtrack of the Grand Ramble 3 years ago.
