Just finished watching "all about lily chou-chou" i saw its gif set and it made me curious

it's... kinda disturbing there and there, i didn't read any synopsis or summary beforehand so i was totally clueless on what it was about.

...

It kinda makes me depressed, cuz the MC of this movie—yuichi— is a meek one in a group of a delinquent (but i feel like it's not really by choice, he just tags along and suddenly the friend he's close with becomes a bully) he's the weakling type that can't stand for himself or anyone, one that's in the lowest hierarchy. The kind that's caught in a bad cycle of choices and doesn't really have any choice.

But he's not innocent either. Before the delinquent group was formed, he stole a large amount of money. And then stole again after being a part of the group.

Part of me pity him, but part of me wants to slap him so badly and scream "get it together!!!"

At least until the end of the movie, until that particular scene appears—There you go, yuichi. Wish you'd done it sooner.

I was not prepared for the heavy bullying scenes. They're pretty disturbing and makes my blood boil. Kinda makes me question my morals too.

Overall it's good but not the type that I'll watch again. Tipe film yang cukup sekali aja nontonnya.

Okay... this is ridiculous.

I am in no way dissing kataang. I understand it's a ship that is Canon (I'm not denying this) and have nothing against it other than the way it was handled in the OG series. To me, it was shoehorned in and very awkward. Personally, I like the direction the Netflix show is going where there is no hint of any kind of pairing other than Sokka's crucial romances. I also don't care for teenage relationships to begin with because it's tricky. Especially when it involves a 12 year old boy with a girl that is older. It's very... controversial. That is the eew part. Nothing wrong with them being adults later on, as I've stated in my previous post. But again, underage relationships are not my thing. Mainly because I am in my MID 30S and I mostly read stories that pertain to over 18 relationships. That is what I have to say.

But Jesus christ... yall gotta stop with the shipping wars. I've seen my fair share of them in my years of being in several Fandoms. Guys, gals, and those in between... people gonna do what they want! They are going to like what they want and love what makes them feel good. I happen to love several different things that don't always align with everyone else.

You've got both sides calling each other toxic when the majority just wants to live in harmony with their favorite ship. There is nothing wrong with that. This goes for all ships. I have my preferences and they aren't going to match up with everyone else's. That's fine. It makes me feel nostalgic.

But don't tell me what to do. Don't tell anyone what they should feel or say. That's toxic.

Thank goodness I can say and feel what I want because Godzilla help yall if things don't go the way yall want.

- One of the smartest kids in the class besides Roger (and everyone actually praises himn for it because he always boasts about it)

- Became the leader of the choir ever since he was 9 (literally no one could overthrow him for YEARS, no matter how hard ppl tried they just couldn't get the position because Jack was just better like that ✨)

- Jack was the ASB president for one school year before the Island Incident™

- He was also the president of many clubs including drama club, key club (volunteer leadership thing idk), speech and debate club, fashion club (because he's snazzy like that), and the dance club

- He, Roger, and Maurice are BESTIES

- Jack and Ralph share classes, but they never really interacted with each other in a significant manner before the Island Incident™ (they just pass by each other and smile and wave but ngl Jack started to have feelings for Ralph??? a lil bit????)

Part 2:

- Jack has a younger sister named Lilac!!

- Lilac's birthday is 5/24 (Zodiac Sign: Gemini) and she's 8 years old!!! :D

- She borrows choir uniforms from Jack every year just because they look cool and she looks up to him a lot ^_^

- Lilac tends to be prideful, but she's wayyyyy less manipulative and problematic than her brother 💀

- Lilac shows her arrogance and pride the most for petty competitions (like games in P.E. and board games and stuff) but she would NEVER cheat!!

- She gets actually helpful survival tips from Jack (wholesome sibling bonding fr)

- Talks about her brother every day with other people, wants to be a choir gal and a huntress, and believes Jack could do no wrong whatsoever (if only she knew...)

- Might seem competitive and prideful at first, but deep down inside she's really insecure about meeting her brother's standards and she cares about her friends' wellbeing (she just wants to be strong like her big brother awww <3)

- Ppl talk smack about her mostly because they see her as a cheap copy of her brother (Lilac isn't aware of this)

Part 3 (tw: physical and verbal abuse, injuries)

- His father was physically and verbally abusive towards Jack, Lilac and his mother (who was scared to do anything).

- Jack had LITERAL bruises on his back so no one ever saw how his father beat him so damn often like wtf but unfortunately he saw this as normal since he grew up with this behavior.

- His parents fought frequently and Jack and Lilac only had each other for comfort. Jack was a little more emotionally insensitive and didn't know it was wrong while Lilac clearly saw that this was fxxked up.

- Sometimes the two siblings would sneak out in the middle of the night in a forest area somewhere just to take a long break from the yelling and hitting from their parents

Technically I’m named after my great-aunt, Katharina (turning 90 this year!), but to be honest, my mom said it was more about just really liking the name in general versus like any kind of honoring family sort of thing.  My two middle names are my paternal and maternal grandmother’s names.  And fun fact: I was almost named Ka‘iulani if it had been up to my Dad (and I think my Mom won solely for the fact that most of her family would not have been able to pronounce it correctly lol)

How they treat and speak to others.  Though I can appreciate everyone has off days, and one snap moment shouldn’t be like the end all to end all - and words matter to me, I’m a words of affirmations gal, I believe that though someone can fake being kind, they can’t fake being mean.  And if someone uses their time and energy to consciously drag someone down, I will not invest my time and energy into nurturing a connection with them.

Now?  I can’t offer consistent work hours due to chronic health issues, so adapting, I’d say, probably self publishing at some point, or selling zines.  Dipping my toes into it by offering prints on my (soon to be open) etsy store, and engaging with more fandom zines.  Might end up looking into it more seriously in another year, or two.

Basically, it’s about cuphead (and possibly mugman and other kids in the inkwell isles) being part of a church, he was one of the choir boys/greeters, and a bit of a troublemaker!

One night, he faces an actual demon, who went by the name of “ms malice” and for some reason, seeing her for the first time, he felt as if he had fallen in love…..ms malice doesn’t really know the definition of “love” but she really wants to learn. Cuphead discused her as one of the helpers, but boy oh boy she didn’t act like one!

The only reason she was even in the living world was so she could capture runaway souls, she wasn’t supposed to get attached…..

Didn’t expect CUPHEAD to be the responsible one, did ya? Ah yes, the ol west! Shy is blue, birds are singin’, crops are growin’, and with sheriff chalice around, it’s goin just swell!

Unless she does some stupid shit.

Now cuphead is a town renowned bartender because of his famous drinks! He’s charming, kind, anything a gal could want! Chalice already called dibs, though. And she makes sure everyone knows.

Basically, cuphead is like her leash, but every now and then, he can get a little koo-koo too-

Yes, detective cooper here has somehow ended up falling right in the heart of the city’s number one mobster’s WIFE! Her of all people!

Detective cooper never really thought about love, he’s been too busy keeping himself on his feet, solving cases, yada yada yada.

One night, he went to the very bar our lovely Mrs Alice was preforming. He had never fallen harder for another being in his whole life. After the show, he confessed his emotions and offered her dinner and a show. She wanted to say yes, but her husband’s car had pulled up to the curb. Our detective hid behind a counter as Mrs Alice had a conversation with her husband, the city’s #1 mobster, rumored to clear out an entire room in under an hour. Although, dangerous as he was, he never noticed anything about his wife’s affairs. after he left Mrs Alice agreed to detective cooper’s offer.

Basically, he KNOWS he’ll be killed if he keeps this up, but some people can’t say no to their heart….

Cult leader x their god

(Warning that this one is a little touchy, so fair warning that this one might be a tad bit disturbing-)

(Since y’all liked this one the most, I went a LIIIIIIL too hard on the art. And don’t worry, that’s not cuphead’s blood-)

This one takes place in a post-apocalypse, devastation everywhere you look. No more rules, but that’s just more dangerous. With the devil running loose, it’s not surprising people would try and look for a savior. For YEARS, people tried calling on a goddess, one who was said to heal, to bring peace.

For over a hundred years, a cult did everything they could to try and summon her. And one day, after all the mayhem, all the chaos, all the sacrifices made, she finally came.

The new leader of this “cult” was given the title leader, after the last one grew too old. He never really thought the goddess would come when HE was alive, but here we are.

At first, all she wanted to do was explore the earth she had left so many years ago, cuphead tried to both show her around AND try to get her to try and heal people!

She did not pay attention one bit, and went to go chase a frog.

A few months later, he no longer saw a goddess known to triumph evil, but a girl who simply loved life and was heartbroken to see what had happened to earth.

Cuphead doesn’t even think she remembers how to even use her powers…..Yet he still was devoted to her and never left her side. Not even for a minute. No mortal has ever treated her like that before. That’s why he’s her favorite.

Some of the other members don’t approve of their little “relation” because they need her to heal people, but obviously cuphead spoils her too much.

Disney ask game:

💖 Favorite movie?: honestly it's hard for me. But i love all the classics. But hunchback of Notre dame,beauty and the beast,sleeping beauty,snow white,mulan,and i know it's unpopular opinion but i loved pocahontas for two reasons. One i had zero to nothing for representation growing up knowing and having native background (now i might have better rep but again this was younger me) and two i just liked it face value. And that's ok. I know the real history,and i can like AND give valid criticism for a piece of media. Oh and i love treasure planet,and princess and the frog. Underrated af movies.

📣 Which remake is the best?: honestly not many remakes and sequels of disney work. Some are ok but poorly executed.

🤡 Which remake is the worst?: ok as for sequels. Hunchback because of it felt like a pity movie for quasi and i hated it. As for live action remakes i dont like any of em. But beauty and the beast because i just do not like emma watson. I dont hate her,i just dont like her vibe. *shrug*

And honestly we can learn a thing or teo from mulan. But if i could. I'd love to make a proper and honest to god movie about samurai. But tastefully done. Tome gozen movie anyone? Or a simple movie about friendship. And the importance of it. And platonic relationships being just as important as Romantic ones.

TOLKIEN TLDR: Ainulindalë – The Music of the Ainur

Ever wondered how Middle-earth came to be? Here, have a silly, highly simplified summary of the creation of Eä according to Ainulindalë.  

The story starts with Eru Ilúvatar; an all-knowing, all-powerful, capital-G kind of God, and the Ainur; the offspring of his thought. He teaches the Ainur (who are totally not angels) the art of music, and then he makes them sing for him. For a while, everything sounds great. Perfect harmony, perfect synch, everyone knows their part.

Well. Almost everyone.

One of the Ainur, Melkor (who is totally not Lucifer), decides that his role in the story is a bit too passive for his taste. He starts interweaving his own ideas into Ilúvatar’s perfect theme, and, well, I think anyone who’s ever been in a choir knows exactly how much discord a single diva can cause. Some Ainur join him, some ignore him, and some stop singing altogether. Eventually, Ilúvatar puts his foot down, stops the cacophony, and firmly explains to his choir that no, free will is not a thing in this household.

After his speech, Ilúvatar shows the Ainur a vision. They see a world, alive and growing, and they’re told that it was created by their music—including the discord that Melkor caused. In the end, it was all a part of Ilúvatar’s grand design. Classic capital-G God move.

The history of the world plays out before them, and they see the coming of the Children of Ilúvatar: first the Elves, and then the Men. The Ainur don’t get the full story, though. The vision ends without any major spoilers of the later ages. It’s more like a trailer, really, showing off the potential of this new world.

It’s a good pitch, and the Ainur are hooked. They want to see the rest. When Ilúvatar asks if any of them would like to descend into the new world, there are several volunteers. One of them is, of course, Melkor, who considers this an excellent opportunity to finally create something of his own. He wants a domain to rule. He wants subjects and servants. He wants this world for himself, and he wants the Children of Ilúvatar to call him “Lord”. (He’s not Morgoth, “The Black Foe of the World” yet, but he’s definitely working on it.)

Okay, so, terminology time. The world that has just been created is called Eä, and within it, we have Arda, which is basically Earth but flat. In Arda we have Middle-earth, which is the continent where The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and most of The Silmarillion take place. Alright? Alright. Moving on.

Many of the Ainur decide to stay with their God, but some do descend into the new world. They become the Valar; gods-without-the-capital-G, and the Maiar; supporting spirits of the Valar. It’s not until after they’ve made their descent that they find out that there’s a catch—a small detail that Ilúvatar failed to mention.

The world isn’t finished yet.

What they saw was in the vision was just a foreshowing, and now it’s their job to make it come true. They’re going to have to turn a world that’s still dark and shapeless into a place where the Children of Ilúvatar can one day thrive. A bit of a dick move, if you ask me, but most of the former Ainur are fine with this setup. Melkor, however, immediately tries to claim Arda as his own kingdom and then proceeds to make life difficult for anyone who disagrees, which would be pretty much everyone. He does convince some of the Maiar to join him though, including the Balrogs and a being that will later be known as Sauron.

And so the terraforming of Eä begins. The strife between the Valar and Melkor turns into a seemingly endless cycle of creation and destruction, but eventually, they somehow manage to create a world that’s habitable for Elves and Men. It’s not a replica Ilúvatar’s vision, but it’s good enough. The history of Middle-earth can now begin.  

A/N: The Silmarillion is an extraordinary piece of literature and I highly recommend reading it. It’s not a “the gist of things” kind of book though, and I’m very much a “the gist of things” kind of gal. I like simplifying and summarizing things, so that’s what I did. No disrespect intended toward the source material.

Do you look forward to the Holiday season? Any big plans? Or little plans?

I haven't seen it yet! Probably won't watch until after the New Year. Holidays are very busy for me with both work and orders for my little bakery and when I do have free time I'm writing/watching comfortable favorites so I don't have to give out the required extra mental energy for a new show and/or movie.

I'm looking forward to it though! Love that funky little gal and I've only heard good things about the show so far.

I really love the holidays. My birthday is December 27 so from Thanksgiving through New Years it just feels like one big party season. When I was in school of course it was school parties and christmas choir concerts and all that, now its work parties and christmas baking but you know, everyone puts lights up and there's festive music and pretty signs up and the stores are full of super cute stuff-- it's my absolute favorite time of year.

I'm heading out to Phoenix this weekend for a one night escape from the cold weather and to do some shopping but that's all I'll do this year. Usually I do a big spa day/weekend away for my birthday but after being sick so much, money is too tight for that sort of thing and honestly, I just sort of want to be home and cozy to end a very hectic year.

So, we've already had mermaids referenced a few times in Our Flag Means Death (ie. Ed listing mermaids as one of the cool ways he thought he'd die, Jim saying they're not a mermaid, Frenchie bringing them up, etc.), BUT

What if (because we already know that reality isn"t an issue for this show) they DO exist, but they're all super chill lesbians who only want to swim with their gal pals and have their choir practices and dumbass men keep ruining that?

Plus, it'd be really fun if we had another female pirate introduced and one of the mermaids could fall in love with her, mostly just because I've been wanting to see that on screen since I heard a gay version of "My Jolly Sailor Bold", or maybe Spanish Jackie has a couple of wives, and one of them is a mermaid.

Chapter II - The Housing of the Rising Sun

Percy Dolarhyde x f!Reader

Summary: Miss Langtree visits her girls at the saloon to prepare them for a visit from the colonel and his annoying sorry excuse of a son.

Warnings: swearing, prostitution, nothing major

A/N: So apparently the song ‘the House of the Rising Sun’ is theorised to be about a brothel so I thought it was appropriate for todays chapter! Half of it is an introduction to the lovely ladies who work at your saloon! So original character heavy in this one! More Percy entered chapters are yet to come though <3

The sun had only just appeared upon the horizon when you arrived at the Sweetwater Saloon, not only did you have to give the news about the bar's grand opening but you also had to warn your girls about some unexpected visitors. You wanted to get to the girls as early as you could to be able to set everything up and to mentally prepare yourself to see Percy again.

After locking the door behind you, you sighed and dropped to the floor, back against the wooden entrance - no amount of preparation was going to be enough to get you through what is to be a long day. 

"Miss Langtree, what are you doing here so darn early, the rooster ain't even squawked yet" you look up to see Amelia sitting at the bar in her pink nightgown and a cigarette in hand. Her ginger hair was dishevelled and her pale face slightly sunken, clearly she hadn't had enough sleep. Amelia is your number 1 gal and has been working under you for the longest out of the group.

"You're up early y'self Lia, I'm here to make an announcement so I'll need everybody up and goin" You manage to lift yourself up and take a seat next to the rosey lady. As there are 7 girls, each girl is not only assigned a room, but also a colour - they of course don't have to wear that same colour at all times, but its a little gimmick for shows. Amelia is the pink girl, her stage name being Madame Rose.

"I gotcha covered...GIRLS! GET YOUR ASSES OUTTA BED THE BOSS IS 'ERE" She yelled on the top her lungs, if ever you were in need of anything, Lia would always have your back and often did a lot of your dirty work (for extra pay of course). 

"Ugh whaaaat" you hear one girl croakily call back, by the sounds of it, Esme had been chain smoking again. One by one you hear all of the girls eventually call down from their rooms, an orchestra of whining and moaning about how early it is, all complaining like teenage girls. 

"Miss Langtree it should be illegal to get us up at such an hour" Nancy was the next girl to come down, a brunette with bright blue eyes stomps down the steps; Nancy is your girl in sapphire. 

"Just wait for everyone else" you place a hand on your hip, you were in no mood for anyone to be giving you attitude, not today of all days.

Next to come down were Esme, Julia and Bella; your ruby, amber and topaz girls. This trio were quite popular in Sparrowdale as they mostly stuck together - including in the bedroom. 

"Where's Stella and Marie?" You ask. Lining all the girls up, you take note of who looks particularly dirty, tired, tidy etc, you've got to get your girls looking presentable for the Dolarhydes. 

"Coming!" You hear a little song bird call down, Stella stood at the top of the stairs in her purple night dress. "I'm just tryna get Marie to come down"

"I'm comin', I'm comin' for fuck sake. I'm getting my stockings on" Marie calls from one of the rooms. 

Although most of your girls can sing, Stella has the voice of an actual angel. If she didn't come from a poor background, she could easily go on to do Oprah or even a church choir; she was your amethyst. 

Last but not least Marie, your girl in emerald, finally makes it down - she was the best of the best. Despite being one of the last girls to join your group, she had years of practice beforehand (in both sex work and in entertainment). If ever you weren't sure about something, she knew it all and she could always teach a thing or two to the others. 

"Right that's everyone!" You begin, clapping your hands together before walking down the line of women. "I have two things I need to share with ya'll...the first, and you're not gunna like this - the grand opening is going to be a week on Tuesday..."

You are met with a symphony of groans and complaints. 

"Bu-bu-bu I won't hear it, we've settled down for long enough, its time to actually get some earnings ladies. Wouldn't it be nice to put on a show for a completely new crowd?"

"Yeah if anyone shows up!" Nancy heckles, you give her a dirty look. 

"Well I suppose that leads me to my second announcement... Have ya'll heard of the Dolarhydes?"

The girls whisper amongst themselves, it seems that they all have heard of them at one point or another. You even hear Esme mention seeing Percy getting in a scrap with some random person at the Gold Leaf - sounds about right. 

"Well I'll have you know..." you take a gulp and a sigh, you weren't sure how to say it and you really didn't want to say it out loud, it would be almost willing it to existence. "I am engaged to the son of Colonel Dolarhyde" 

"You can't be serious!" Amelia lets out a shrill, you are met with a series of "ooo's" and laughter. 

"Miss Langtree forgive us, we aren't laughing at you... but marrying that Dolarhyde kid?" Julia asks through tears of hilarity. You purse your lips and look away from the ladies, it was humiliating enough to be engaged to that brute. Their laughter just added insult to injury -  but still, you had to keep up with the tough act. 

"GIRLS" You shout, almost immediately does the rowdiness quiet down, although they can be quite misbehaved, they respect you as a "mother hen" as Stella would put it. "Yes I am due to be wed to... Him. It's not my decision I can assure you. But it does mean that we'll be getting a steady income from now on. The Dolarhydes are interested in being our sponsors. If we have their name on this place there will be a flow of people wanting to check us out"

"More boys?" Bella squeals in delight followed by more giddy whispering. 

"It may also mean we'll need to be doin' more shows, not just the weekend" 

"Ah come on!" Esme moans "Shows n' clients? That's gunna be hard work" 

"It will indeed, but you'll be paid handsomely. And an actual chance for you girls to get outta this..." you cough in your chest before continuing, "Unless of course you wanna stay in this profession" 

The girls mutter amongst themselves once more, many donned unsure faces and others showed concern. 

"We can't just leave you Y/N" Amelia grabs onto your hand and bringing it to her chest, her brows furrowed with a sad and desperate expression. 

"I mean y'don't have to! But wouldn't it be great to save up and actually live rather than just survivin'?"

The girls give each other a solemn look, each one has been through so much in their lives that have lead them to this position. Marie and Nancy were perhaps the only ones who actually wanted to become a 'lady of the night', the others have no place else to go. 

This was the reason why you started up this business in the first place, too many young girls are lost in the traffic of sex work and abuse that you just had to take them in. Of course, you weren't able to just straight up adopt them so you had them work in little shows and waitressing. All being similar ages (and a couple of girls being slightly older than you) you had felt like they were your friends, an extended family of sisters working together. 

You had run this group for a couple of years now, back in Sparrowdale you were very successful; one girl in particular you think of often is a lady named Annabelle - she was the first girl to save up enough and move into the city, never having to use her body for money ever again. Anna writes to you quite often and recently she got married to a Lawyer; things like that gave you purpose. 

"Girls, you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Heck, you don't even have to stay now. This is the situation I have been given and I believe we should work together here. Save the money up, get a house of your own, or stay here and just buy dresses and good food, you are free to be who you are here. You're my girls and I love ya'll" you get a little teary at your speech, the girls huddle around you and give you a group hug. 

"We love you too boss" you hear the them say, they may not always behave or have the best of attitudes, but you are a community and you had each other's backs. 

"Well I don't know if y' gunna like me after I tell ya that the Dolarhydes are paying us a little visit later!" You wince with a grin, looking around you see your girls roll their eyes and whine once more. "I won't hear none of it, we've gotta dress to impress!" 

Through defeated mutters, they all return to their rooms to get ready. 

"Miss Laaaaangtree you're gunna kill us" Amber gives you a little frustrated shake before joining the others.

"There's nothing to worry about, ya'll are gems y'know that right?" You call out encouragingly, there was an air of nervousness in your tone - not that you didn't have faith in your employees, but that Dolarhyde kid could cause problems; your girls were feisty and if he's going to terrorise them like he does with the other citizens of Absolution then there's going to be trouble...and a potential murder. 

Slipping in your office you take a good look at yourself in the mirror; not only do you do your business here, this room also acts as a dressing room for you. Back in Sparrowdale, your office was a great place to have a sneaky drink or cigarette during shows, and whenever you are having a wardrobe malfunction; much like today. This morning you rushed getting ready, you needed to be at Sweetwater as soon as to prepare but now you are sort of regretting it. Giving yourself a quick spin you grimace at the sight; unkempt hair, no makeup, the dress isn't the nicest - you looked like you just rocked up after a night out drinking. 

"Gosh darn it" you huffed out loud before changing into one of your more formal dresses you kept in your office. After makeup and hair were done, you made your way to the bar where you heard chatter and hurried steps above you; when it came to getting ready your girls sound like an absolute circus. 

Once everything was ready, it was all a matter of waiting - your girls all dolled up, the whole building was clean and all was in its place. You had little to no patience, the anxiety returning to you with every passing minute; what if Mr Dolarhyde didn't approve of the place? Not that you needed his support, you would be able to do business without him but a sponsorship? That doesn't come easy. 

"Right everyone, they are due anytime now so just... Uhhhh do what you usually would before opening. Rehearse, clean, check stock, whatever. Just be normal and NICE. Treat them like you usually would with a customer" all in unison the girls unbutton their outfits and pull seductive faces. "Not THAT kind of customer for God’s sake, you tryna get us in trouble?" You fluster.

Minutes felt like hours and your patience worn thin, luckily it didn't take too long for Woodrow and Percy to finally arrive at your Saloon. You were alerted by a heavy, firm knock on the door. You cursed every profanity under the sun and bit your fist, desperately wanting this ordeal to be over and done with. 

"Welcome Colonel Dolarhyde...Mr Dolarhyde" you smiled at Woodrow as you welcomed him in, your smile drops immediately when staring up into Percy's eyes; he returns the favour by furrowing a brow and twitching his nose in your direction. 

"Please, no one calls me the Colonel"

"No one who wants to live" Percy added, his father elbows him with a scowl. 

"Ah I see, well is Woodrow still acceptable Sir?" You smile politely, trying your best to disguise your nervousness. 

"Yeah, sure... My, what a big place this is" Woodrow stated, he seemed impressed... Maybe, he was an aloof man so who really knows what he actually thinks. Stepping in through the door Percy's eyes stay forward, not wanting to look your way. Whenever his father isn't looking, you give Percy a deathly glare at every given opportunity; he's a lemon of a man, every time you see him its like taking a big, sour bite. At least lemons are good for you. 

"Ladies" Mr Dolarhyde tips his hat at your girls, Amelia was behind the bar looking busy, Bella, Esme and Julia practiced their dancing routine and the others were in and out of the room, also "looking" busy. 

"Can I get you gents a drink?" You offered whilst walking around the bar. 

The Dolarhydes take a seat on a barstool and decide to have a double whiskey each, on the house of course. 

"So Y/N how long have these girls worked with you?" Mr Dolarhyde asks, you tense at his voice, and so the interrogation begins. Even though Percy is peering in your direction, he clearly wasn't all there; lights on but no one's home kind of look. 

"I would say it's coming up near 3 years now, Amelia here has been with me from the start" You motion towards Lia, she gives a polite pursed smile before continuing varnishing already varnished glasses. Woodrow downs his whiskey in one and slams the glass onto the counter. 'Hmm aren't you supposed to savour whiskey?' You thought to yourself. Percy attempts to do the same but chokes up half of his drink. 

You let out a little laugh at this and offer Percy a drink of water - he of course declines. As you giggled to yourself, Percy couldn't help but notice your smile lines and the way you spoke through your chuckle. For a moment Percy considered you as cute; that was until he realised who he was admiring. 

"It ain't funny, this shit's dry"

"Quit yer whinin'!" Woodrow hits between Percy's shoulder blades, you could swear Percy’s skin would be black and blue with he amount Mr Dolarhyde had beat his son’s sorry ass. 

The conversation turned to more business related questions, like your usual income, how much the place was and what your expected salary will be from the place. Truthfully, you didn't know, the town of Absolution was far smaller than Sparrowdale, so its a fair assumption that your bar won't be as filled every night as your old saloon - no matter how entertaining your girls may be. The whole time you and Woodrow spoke, Percy sat and listened, or maybe he didn't, you could never tell and you certainly didn't really care; the only thing that mattered was keeping his father impressed and interested. 

"Anyway Miss Langtree, I am sorry for hittin' the road so soon but I just wanted to get a feel of the place y'know? Plus it'll give you and Percy here some time to get properly acquainted. Just make sure he don't drink too much" 

"How bout another drink for the road?" You look at Mr Dolarhyde desperately, he's only just arrived and he's already leaving you with this brute? 

"I would but I er gotta deal with some lousy men of mine. Probably pissed on the job and it won't look too good if I was in a state. I'll be back later. Have fun kids" And that was that, Woodrow left the two of you awkwardly at the bar. Silence had never been so loud, even Bella, Esme and Julia stopped performing and went straight to their rooms due to the violent quietness. 

Percy's hungry eyes follow their steps, you’ve seen that look many times. Letting out an angry cough, you fiercely pull at Percy's ear.

"OW! Hey now-"

"Will you PLEASE behave yourself? Even for a moment for God's sake" you aggressively whisper, Percy lets out a irritated grunt. 

"Well there's nothin else to do in this place so why not?"

"How about a civil conversation perhaps? Or is Mr Dolarhyde too good to be talkin' to the likes o' me?" 

Percy doesn't answer, grumbling something to himself, no doubt something insulting about you. His gaze falls over the bottles of alcohol behind the counter, noting the variety of brands and liquors. He was almost impressed, there seems to be way more choice than the Gold Leaf, maybe your bar might be worth a visit after all; especially if he sees those girls again. The lanky man takes a long drawn out sigh before looking back at you; he thinks your a cute little thing with an attitude problem, he would have entertained the idea of marriage if you weren't so mouthy. A quiet, obedient little wife who he wouldn't have to pay much attention to would have best suited him. But here he is, forced to face you head on begrudgingly. 

"The name's Percy. If you're gunna keep callin' me that then you ain't gonna get a civil conversation, darlin" 

“I’ll call you what I like. Maybe if you got your act together and treated me with some with respect I might actually call you your name” 

“Respect is earned little miss” He spat, standing up out of his seat with means to intimidate. You don’t buckle nor flinch, it would have to take a lot for the likes of Percy Dolarhyde to frighten you. 

"I don't even know why you're here, you're no good sober than y'are off your face with booze" you argue "Why'd I have to be matched up with the likes of you?"

"I'm not exactly singin' and dancin' myself" Percy folds his arms over like a large child. "Can't believe Pa is making me marry the hag o’ whore's" 

"Get the FUCK outta here you bastard!" You threw and empty bottle at him, that was it, you’ve had enough of him. Percy pathetically scrambles away like a frightened deer out of your saloon, you had half the mind to chase after him. 

After a few seconds of huffing angrily, you feel a hand rest upon your shoulder. 

“Well that was short lived, my they say romance is dead” Amelia lets out an awkward chuckle, your eyes meet hers as you attempt to calm yourself. “He seems…uh…nice” 

“He’s quite the catch” you breathily let out a laugh of your own, hand resting on your brow as you fall into a seat. “I probably shouldn’t of attacked him like that… But the prick deserved it”

“Y’ think that’s going to damage the saloons reputation?” Amelia takes a seat next to you and takes your free hand in hers. 

“Ah fuck, I ain’t even thought of that” biting your fist, you can only imagine Mr Dolarhyde’s response; either you or your father are going to get punished. “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it, for now, lets have another drink”

A peppy unit with a classy vintage look, a unified sound, and vivid swing dancing. Not a unit for the faint of heart, they're known for their rigorous training sessions and flawless performances. With their small formation and detailed marching-band inspired costumes, they blend the line between idol unit and show choir. The six members are broken into pairs of dance partners; though there's some consideration given to seniority, there is no leader. Jazz-loving robots Elloe & Megami often take Center position flanked on one side by the short duo Alessi Radiata & Lirio Alstromer and on the other side by resident perfectionists Haruna Inoue & Hae-Eun Seia.

A gathering place for girls who want to enjoy some idol activities while focusing on their dance. Known for their high energy performances and ability to thrive in large venues. Their lives are characterized by an upbeat sound, intense dance numbers, and formations that spread them out to fill up large stages. Leader Oriuim Livrig values the team's lively energy; her picks from the auditionees were based on that alone bringing less-skilled but athletic members like Kawaru Rokajo, Maria Iguchi, Rig Brandt, and Araminta Ebert. Balancing it out are trained dancers Yoshimi Negiwa and Micah Rhee. As she sees it, you can learn dance but you can't learn stamina and lung capacity.

Midnight Troupe

[midnight blue; dramatic elegant Theater Troupe]

An edgy unit with a theater theme and symphonic sound. They do their performances in dramatic costumes with a dramatic sound. Their concerts follow a plot, more like a musical, heavily utilizing story lines that are usually narrated by Rangi Vale in the role of Death, one of several resident weirdos. Their stories often have more villains or morally gray roles since Daisey Kurr, Hermes, and Flora Tahkizaad are known to argue over them. In their current play, Aisling plays the determined protagonist, Pancha Espinosa her unfortunate prince, and S'hahar Silverplume the double-crossing dragon; the other roles are the Evil Queen (Daisey), her daughter (Flora), and the Evil Witch (Hermes).

They network with other units to bring their stage-plays to life with more performers: Black Curtain is their backing band and members of MY COLOR*GLITTERING STORIES (which Pancha mentors) are brought in as ensemble members.

A fun unit with a Magical Girl & Tokusatsu theme. They put on theatrical lives full of silly songs that follow a story. Their sound and image pretty kiddie, but they appeal to anyone with joy in their heart & a love for the imaginative. Known for their quirky members like Kugumi Isotake, who doesn't want to be here, shadow-Leader Mana Kaiuwaihui's lack of solos (and any voice lines??), story-writer Ume Kuromori who can never remember her lines, tokusatsu-loving Kit Smith who approaches her roles with a little too much enthusiasm, and local clown Tamon Little who's accidentally clocked Kugumi at least three time in dance practice, and twice on stage .

[baby pink; delicate girly J-pop Unit]

A childish unit with a gentle and whimsical feel to it. They specialize in cute, country, and retro songs with a soft and delicate feel. Their costumes are usually heavy in guazey fabrics, bright pastels, and pom-poms to represent their fluffy and sweet image. They follow a seniority system making Cassiel Sear their leader; she prioritizes friendship between members. The members are known for their gentle personalities (esp. Rim Baris), refined manners (esp. Heather Aveneill), soft voices (esp. Snow Lîm), and otherwise angelic or childish images (esp. Miyuki Ogawa). They're considered a little-sister unit of Periwinkles with whom they do joint practices.

Black Curtain

[true black; serious Rock Band]

An edgy rock band that sets their feelings to music. They often disagree but they're on the same page when it comes to the quality of their sound. Their heavy sound and edgy image make them perfect to double as Midnight Troupe's backing band. Though they're not all as loud about it, each one is just as much a perfectionist as the other; due to a united dislike of authority there is no leader for better or worse. Pop-Punk lover Piper Sukkal'kira'na plays backing bass and provides the bulk of their vocals; song-writer & practiced guitarist Angel Rodriguez plays lead guitar and provides additional vocals; agressive rebel Rakko Kinaki works hard to impress as lead-bass; trained pianist & peace keeper Sagiso Snøherrsen provides keyboard and softer backing vocals; and the somewhat insane Clare Riis enjoyes tearing it up on the drums & laughing when the others argue.

[fern green; whimsical Acoustic Band]

A laid-back unit with an "open to anyone" policy and a "my pace" attitude. They focus on simple acoustic songs using whatever instrument looks fun in the moment. Known for their ability to invoke emotions especially joy, longing, and nostalgia. They like to invoke the image of a chill garden party with airy and gentle vibes. Leader Parker Corbell, prev. of Golden Rosetto, formed Ivy & Edelweiss to accomodate new members especially kids who didn't see themselves as musicians. With her on acoustic guitar and co-leader Clancy Delahaye's robust knowledge of imporvising rhythem on the open sea, they provide the instrumental groundwork that allows members Mara ki'Zemeur, Zofia by S.H., and Victor Gilani to learn at their own pace. The only ironclad rule is that everyone has take a turn singing, even if their too shy to do so normally. Like Pinkies, Ivy & Edelweiss fosters a sense of community among the members.

Glittering Stories ٭ My Color

A soothing unit with a choir-like sound and simple dances. They focus on ballads and constellation themes. Known for their elegant ballet like dance moves (lyrical dance) and delicate harmonies. Each member is described as an individual constellation with an emphasis on showcasing their individual skills, storylines, and image colors. Leader Almondine Aeyasumear, prev. of Midnight Troupe, established the unit to accomodate new members with more elegant aesthetics and a desire to put on beautiful performances; she's represented by Corona Borealis, the Northern Crown. Lavi Ummnikkal (Leo, the lion) and Tien Janvier (Pyxis, the compass) joined to hone their talents; Center Eulalia Oudinet (Cygnus, the swan) embodies the unit's elegant aesthetic with her trained dance moves; and Aloque (Columba, the dove) and Ella Tsai (Argo Navis, the ship) bring their skills as a travelling singers and a ballroom dancer respectively. Pancha of Mightnight Troupe uses his years of choir training to help the group practice.

St John Chrysostom on Virtue

"When we normally think of virtue we tend to think of ethical behavior, following the rules, obeying the commandments. Saint John Chrysostom reminds us that virtue is much more than just being a good person living according to the rules.

He writes,

Virtue is to scorn all human affairs, to keep the mind on future realities at each hour of the day, to seek no present good but to know that everything human is a shadow and a dream or even worse. Virtue is to adopt the attitude of a corpse in regard to the affairs of this life and like a corpse take no active interest in what threatens the soul's salvation, but only in regard to spiritual things to be alive and take active interest, as Paul also said, "I am alive, though it is no longer me but Christ alive in me." (Gal 2:20)

He says, "virtue is the scorn all human affairs". What could this mean? He is trying to emphasize that virtue is not about gaining any kind of recognition in this world. Any good act we do for esteem of ourselves or others is in vain. What is essential is our love of God, and to be united with Him in His kingdom. He further says that to be virtuous we have to be like a "corpse" in regards to all things of this life. Virtue is beyond the expression of all we can gain in this life. He is saying that virtue comes when we are in union with Christ and are acting out of His love for us and us for Him. Virtuous actions must be done out of His will and not our earthly human will. Of course we must make an effort to purify our heart so that we are able to do so. Like Christ did, we too must align our human will with His divine will. Then we can be said to act with virtue. We will then act as Paul says, as "though it is not longer me but Christ alive in me." This is the idea of virtue that Saint John Chrysostom is trying to express.

Once we have gained this high state of virtuous action, He goes on to ask us to protect this virtue just like a rich person protects his material wealth.

We should guard it with great care, not expose it to the gaze of all but conceal it in the inmost recesses of our heart, and thus repel all the attacks on the one anxious to despoil us of it; in this way we will keep it intact and be able to leave this life with some resource for the life hereafter. (Homily 5 on Genesis, p 65)

Once we are able to act with true virtue then we must conceal our motivations, the source of our actions, and never seek recognition of any kind for our actions. This is a stance of humility that is essential, and, once we boast of our relationship with God, we will lose it.

Prayer is a key to developing the proper relationship with God. Prayer is to be done in silence, as an inner work. Saint John tells us the following in His Homily on Gospel by Saint Matthew.

Let us not then make our prayer by the gesture of our body, nor by the loudness of our voice, but by the earnestness of our mind: neither with noise and clamor and for display, so as even to disturb those that are near us, but with all modesty, and with contrition in the mind, and with inward tears.....

He continues reminding us that we are seeking an inner voice that comes from God. Prayer is a mystery , he says. Prayer come out of silence.

From beneath, out of the heart, draw forth a voice,make thy prayer a mystery. Seest thou not that even in the houses of kings all tumult is put away, and great on all sides is the silence? Do thou also therefore, entering as into a palace,--not that on the earth,but what is far more awful than it, that which is in heaven,--show forth great seemliness. Yea, for thou art joined to the choirs of angels, and art in communion with archangels, and art singing with the seraphim. And all these tribes show forth much goodly order, singing with great awe that mystical strain, and their sacred hymns to God, the King of all. With these then mingle thyself, when thou art praying, and emulate their mystical order.

It is prayer that we enter into the kingdom of heaven. With our minds purified of the passions of the body we can enter into this silence and truly join with the "choirs of angels." In Prayer we are called to mingle with heavenly bodies and participate in their "mystical order."

He also writes,

For not unto men art thou praying, but to God, who is everywhere present, who hears even before the voice, who knows the secrets of the mind. If thou so pray, great is the reward thou shalt receive."
