gotta be honest i don't like when people genuinely hate on pb bc of the thing w finns crush on her

did she handle it perfectly? no, maybe not, and yes i felt bad for finn at some parts. but i never felt weird abt it for a number of reasons

most obvious one to me is that jake also played heavy into messing w finn over it, bc it was a silly little kid crush and nobody thought he had real feelings invested in it. i dont think its especially uncommon to find that a kid is a little obsessed with you, or to be a kid and have a crush on someone way older than you bc youre idolizing them, but unless something happens people arent usually like sitting that kid down and explaining that its not going to happen, bc they already know. bc obviously. even finns own family knew and was being playful w it

and ALSO, in the first episode we meet marcie she literally tries to kill both of them and i've never seen anyone be upset w that, bc shes a vampire and its established in the show that she's "a thousand years old and just lost track of her moral code". but like.. pb is also not human? and is actually not 18 at all, she's like 800 something. they are both Not Great at the start of the show and before it, then they develop throughout the series. but one of them is fine and one isn't in the eyes of a lot of fans, for reasons beyond me.

also. and maybe most importantly. i support women's wrongs <3 she's just a girl trying to lead her kingdom and let's be real. finn (love him to pieces) is an extremely creepy little kid who's obsessed with her and pb is not exactly prone to being reasonable, it's why we love her. in one of her first appearances she literally tried executing a man who is purposefully fleshed out to be rlly sweet and caring bc he ate all her pudding

I think I have not been invited to the dinner where my 18 year old cousin - a literal teenager - is introducing her 24 year old boyfriend - a man old enough that if he'd gone to college he could have graduated college, could have a master's degree - to our part of the family because I expressed concern at their age difference.
