Presumptuous

The Lost Padawan Part 4

You were raised in the Jedi order, Padawan of Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi.

a/n A little short but it was a good stopping point

You're awakened hours later with the sound of a ship flying low over head. You had been covered with a sheet, but you were still lying comfortably in that pile of grass as none of them wanted to disturb your much needed rest. You open your eyes to see Shaeeah, Jek and Suu on the porch of their house, watching the ship move off. Wrecker steps out of the building as well as the ship lowers in the distance before flying back up with the Clones' ship in tow.

Blast.

There goes your way out. Hunter and Cut come running back into the yard as you get yourself to your feet. "One problem Tech, Omega is on board the ship," you hear Hunter finish over the coms.

You don't move until the shop is gone, then you stand up and automatically going to Hunter and asking, "so what's the plan?"

"I'm not exactly sure what it is that Tech and Echo have planned but they're getting the codes for Cut and his family to be able to take the shuttle. We are going to head into town to meet them." He looks at you and obviously spots something about your demeanor because he then adds, "and you aren't going to do anything stupid."

You bite your lip and look away from him, somewhat ashamed that he could read you that easily. "Alright," you mutter, there goes your flawless back up plan to protect all of them which was to pull out your lightsaber and sacrifice yourself for all of them.

"Good," he claps you on the shoulder and walks off.

You stand there and mutter mockingly under your breath, "anD doN't Do anYThiNg sTUPiD."

Cut and Wrecker are standing close to you and hear you, both laughing before Cut speaks, "kid. All Jedi are the same, they'll do something stupid and get themselves killed before they risk the lives of others. The thing that would set you apart is if you actually listen."

You shoot him a glare, sure it's playful but still he was right and you knew it. You decide to change the subject, by gesturing to your clothing, "I think Jedi robes might be a little obvious, do you have something I could steal?"

"Yeah, I'm sure Suu has something," with that he sends you over to Suu and she helps you find something to wear besides your Jedi robes before you head into town.

You help by carrying some of their stuff, though it's probably to weigh you down and make it harder to get your lightsaber from where it's hidden in the chance things go south. They all go and wait in line for the shuttle, and for Tech to get them the security codes.

Clearly things go wrong though so you and the Bad Batch, as they call themselves, end up having to fight the clones and cause a distraction for Cut and his family. Omega is the one who delivers the codes after almost being shot. She was safe thanks to Wrecker though. Hunter had some how stolen your lightsaber from you so when you reached for it to cause a distraction you couldn't.

Great.

You place their things down to leave, looking at Hunter as he has to explain to Omega that he is sending her with Cut. Omega is hurt, asking what she did wrong. You're reminded of yourself not that long ago, trying to convince Master Kenobi that you could go with him to find Grievous. You walk away with Hunter to go to their ship, quiet and feeling bad for Omega.

You have to fight your way through clones to get to the ship. "Next time you steal my saber maybe you could give me a blaster or something cause I don't thing sending them flying with the force would be subtle either."

Hunter mutters something about stubborn Jedi and hands you one of his blasters. When you hesitate to use it he asks, "do you know how to use a blaster."

You hesitate for a moment before saying, "in theory?"

He takes it back from you, "theory doesn't help us right now, kid."

You roll your eyes, "well," you dodge another blaster bolt, "I could do a lot more to help," another duck, "if someone hadn't taken my lightsaber."

You do use the force despite saying it would be obvious. You just pretend that you're physically picking up and throwing the giant crates like you have super strength but the clones don't know any better so it works.

Hunter can't help but let out a single chuckle at your response. "That wouldn't help. It would just get even more attention and fall into that category of stupid things I told you not to do."

You grumble something under your breath as the two of you finish closing the gap between you and the ship. You both board and they go to close the door and get in the air.

"Wait," you say calmly.

"This ship isn't going to get off the ground if we wait much longer," Echo informs you.

You roll your eyes, "yeah well I think Omega would like it if we waited for her since she listens about as well as I do when Hunter tells me not to be a dumbass." You shoot Hunter another glare for stealing your saber, "except he didn't follow through and make sure she got on that shuttle," you finish jokingly as Omega gets on board and the doors close.

Hunter doesn't get to respond to you since Omega interrupts to explain herself. "I left Kamino with you. I want to be here with you guys-"

Hunter shakes his head but rests a hand on her shoulder, "alright kiddo," he then turns to the other three clones and says, "looks like we have two new team members."
