Reading a horror novel can be chilling and may even make you feel uneasy as you read it. However, listening to the same story as an audiobook could be even worse. For many, this is thrilling and just what they like. There are many such audiobooks on Viewax to enjoy, but here are a few of the best horror audiobooks you can listen to right now.
The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher and Narrated by Hillary Huber
When Mouse agrees to clear out the home of her deceased grandmother, she gets more than she bargained for. She bumps into her grandmother's journal which at first seems like innocent ramplings, but quickly turns into horrors that she has to face. This audiobook will be available on sites like Viewax.
Tumblr media
The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Narrated by Shaun Taylor-Corbett
This story revolves around four American Indian men who get carried away whilst they are on the last day of hunting. Ten years later, those past events along with their own culture and traditions are coming back to haunt them.
Tumblr media
The Elementals by Michael McDowell Narrated by R.C. Bray

Cast revealed for Pegg & Frost sitcom Truth Seekers
The cast have been revealed for Truth Seekers, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's new sitcom for Amazon Prime Video.
Filming has just begun on the supernatural comedy series, which will be launched as an Amazon Original in 2020.
The horror comedy follows a team of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see.
However, as they stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers and abandoned hospitals with their array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos, their supernatural experiences "grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race."
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost play characters called Dave and Gus.
It's now been revealed that Samson Kayo will join them to play a character called Elton, Susan Wokoma is taking on the role of Helen, with Morgana Robinson as Janey, and Kevin Eldon as Jack.
A picture has also been released of Mighty Boosh star Julian Barratt in the role of Dr Peter Toynbee.
Veteran actor Malcolm McDowell will play Richard, Wanderlust's Emma D'Arcy is Astrid and Kate Nash will be Mary.
Producers say: "Set in a mysterious world filled with dread and just-out-of-sight monsters, Truth Seekers mixes the very funny with the very scary in an exciting take on genre storytelling from the minds that gave us Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Sick Note and Paul."

Amazon Cancels Nick Frost/Simon Pegg Paranormal Series “Truth Seekers” After One Season
Amazon Cancels Nick Frost/Simon Pegg Paranormal Series “Truth Seekers” After One Season
This past Halloween season, Amazon premiered the “X-Files”-esque paranormal investigation series “Truth Seekers,” which boasted a cast led by Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) and also including Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) and Malcolm McDowell. Unfortunately, the initial debut season of the series is the only season we’re getting, we’ve learned this morning. Continue reading

Truth Seekers has been canceled after one season. The British horror comedy starring Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, who also created the show alongside writers Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz (Sick Note), premiered on Amazon Prime on October 30, 2020. The story revolves around Gus (Frost), a wireless service repairman (Pegg plays Dave, his boss) who investigates the paranormal via his YouTube channel as a side gig. Truth Seekers co-stars Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), Samson Kayo (Dolittle), and Emma D’Arcy (Hanna).
After the first 8 episode inaugural season for Truth Seekers, Deadline reports that Amazon Prime pulled the plug on the series. Frost made the announcement to fans on his Instagram account stating the series was canceled and thanking fans who like the horror-comedy. His full comments are below:
“Sadly, Truth Seekers will not be returning for a second season. Truth Seekers has not been renewed, which is a massive kick in the willy for me. We really put our all into this – our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame. I think we had lots of lovely ghost stories to tell – stories that will remain now untold. If you liked the show, thank you. And if you didn’t, are you happy now? Happy now?”

The first trailer for Truth Seekers debuted tp tremendous buzz, which reunited Pegg and Frost. The two first collaborated on the British TV series Spaced back in 1999 before garnering cult status and fame with modern classic films like 2004’s Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz in 2007, and The World’s End in 2013.

Truth Seekers was oddly reminiscent of Ghostfacers, the 2010 web-series spinoff to the long-running CW staple, Supernatural. Both involved “everyman” type characters running YouTube sites chasing the paranormal, only to find themselves in over their heads once catching it. The online shorts only lasted one season, just like Truth Seekers, which is unfortunate as horror and comedy (just like Frost and Pegg) always make for a natural and welcome pairing.

Truth Seekers
[3 stars]
Nick Frost (Slaughterhouse Rulez) and Simon Pegg (Inheritance) have a genius for making the absurd not just palatable, but also relatable. Whether it’s the insanity of Shaun of the Dead or the intense silliness of Hot Fuzz, they find the humanity and let you connect with it.
Truth Seekers is right in line with their approach and sense of humor. Frost’s wifi serviceman, moonlighting as a ghost hunter across the English countryside, gets an unexpected partner with unpredictable abilities and a real mystery to tackle. It’s funny between the jumps, and clever in its construction. Even the rough edges of the acting and production are as conscious as the crisp horror they inject at regular intervals.
Frost’s associates Samson Kayo and Emma D’Arcy make an odd trio, but play off one another well. Kayo’s off-hand delivery is particularly amusing. And supporting the story and the ghost hunters from the sidelines, Susan Wokoma (Enola Holmes) and Malcolm McDowell (Bombshell) make for one of the oddest comedy duos ever put together. And, yet again, it works. Both the material and the talent all come together in unexpected and entertaining ways. Surprise guests willing to go odd places, like Kelly MacDonald (Puzzle), add to the fun as well.
Truth Seekers isn’t going to make your best-ever list. But this initial series pulls together nicely for a fun ride and with possibilities to come. And at 22 minutes a pop, it’s a nice bite-size treat for your evenings. It may even stand up to rewatching for many folks as it’s full of reveals as it rushes towards its end while winding all the threads into whole cloth.
