WARNING: Spoilers for Loki episode 4, "The Nexus Event"
Loki has introduced the concept of Loki variants, but who is Richard E. Grant's Classic Loki variant? The end of Loki episode 4 introduced several new variants including Classic Loki, who dons Loki's vintage comic costume. While very little has been revealed about Classic Loki in the universe of Loki so far — he's only had one line at this point — Grant's variant has its basis in Marvel comics lore.
In Loki episode 4, Loki and Sylvie have once again been captured by the TVA after their presence on Lamentis-1 created a previously unseen branch from the Sacred Timeline. Upon their return, the pair are separated and interrogated. Mobius begins to grow suspicious of the TVA after he learns that the TVA pruned Agent C-20 for discovering the truth about her past. Mobius’s suspicions result in him also getting pruned, and Loki and Sylvie are dragged in front of the Time-Keepers. Instead of peacefully accepting their punishment, they clear the room of agents and Judge Renslayer to discover that the Time-Keepers are nothing but robots. At that moment, Ravonna Renslayer comes to and prunes Loki.

In the end credits scene, however, it’s revealed that pruning isn’t exactly as it’s made out to be. Loki wakes from what is supposed to be certain death into another world and sees variants of himself, some of which comic book fans might recognize: Kid Loki, Alligator Loki, Boastful Loki, and Classic Loki. These introductions bring the Loki variant count up to six total, with the potential to discover more. But who is Classic Loki? Here’s a breakdown of the Classic Loki variant and what his appearance means for the MCU.
In the very early Marvel comics, Loki had a slightly different origin story than the one shared in the MCU. In his first comic appearance, Venus No. 6 in 1949, Loki was a member of the Olympian gods who had been banished to the Underworld. Classic Loki planned on traveling to Earth in order to spread hate, tricking Jupiter into allowing him to step foot on Earth when he had previously been forbidden from leaving the Underworld. The Underworld is Loki's domain, where he reigns as King — King of the Underworld, God of Evil, and Lord of Hate — surrounded by an army of demonic minions. Classic Loki had the ability to enter the bodies of humans, cover the city in dark clouds of hate, and astral projection. Loki was reintroduced in his modern form 1962 in Journey into Mystery No. 85 as Thor's greatest nemesis, and he can be seen wearing the costume Grant dons in Loki episode 4. In the Marvel comics, the reintroduced Loki has a similar origin story to his origin in the MCU; he was born to Queen Farbauti and King Laufey, the leaders of the Giants of Jotunheim. While he no longer has demonic dwarves at his beck and call, he has his traditional powers of astral projection, hypnosis, and more.
There are some stark differences between Classic Loki and Hiddleston's Loki. Hiddleston's Loki is not the God of Evil, nor does he rule over the Underworld; instead, Hiddleston portrays the God of Mischief. In the comics, Loki's bitter anger and antics frequently led him to be exiled from Asgard and punished by Odin in strange ways derived from the original Norse myths, including being trapped inside of a tree until another wept for Loki's fate. Comic Loki has a few powers that haven't presented in Hiddleston's Loki, including the ability to control animals, animating inanimate objects, and reincarnation. Classic Loki is from Earth-616, the main universe in Marvel comics; Hiddleston's Loki is from Earth-199999, the MCU. Loki's personality differs between the original classic comic book Loki and the MCU Loki, too. Comic Loki is more of a true villain, while MCU Loki lands more in antihero territory. Hiddleston's Loki is more charming — a side effect of being played by Hiddleston — who has a more complicated relationship with Thor instead of the pure hatred he displays in the comics. Hiddleston's Loki is a misunderstood, hurting man with a hidden soft spot for his brother with a desperate need for attention. Classic Loki is a bitter man who wants to spread mayhem and hatred until everyone is as unhappy as he is; starting with the downfall of his brother. Though the comics have made Loki more of an antihero in recent years to bring him in line with the MCU version, the Classic Loki that Richard E. Grant plays is an iteration of Loki that was far more of a villain, at least in the comics.
The Classic Loki variant is played by actor Richard E. Grant. Grant is a Liswati-English actor who made his debut in the film Withnail and I in 1987. Since then, Grant has played roles in films like Can You Ever Forgive Me? and Gosford Park. Grant is no stranger to the sci-fi genre, either; he’s made appearances in Star Wars, Doctor Who, and Logan. With all of this experience, Grant is a perfect choice to play Classic Loki beyond the fact that he pulls the look off perfectly. Grant's casting in Loki has long been known, and fans have been making new theories weekly about where he might show up, but it wasn't until Loki episode 4 that his role was finally revealed as Classic Loki. Grant's Classic Loki looks like a no-nonsense kind of guy; his long face and scowl say he likely isn't going to be amused by Hiddleston's mischievous antics.

Every new variant opens doors for the MCU to explore Loki's character. Loki episode 4 isn't the first nod the MCU has given to classic comic book costumes, either; both Wanda and Vision donned their classic costumes for Halloween in WandaVision. But what does Classic Loki's appearance mean for the MCU? One common theory is that the character King Loki will be tied into Grant's Classic Loki. King Loki was first introduced in Loki: Agent of Asgard as an enemy of Loki. King Loki is an entity from the future, a Loki who has turned back to evil. King Loki has returned from the future to kill Thor while he cannot wield Mjolnir and he is at his weakest. If King Loki is rolled into Grant's variant, it would provide an intriguing avenue for Loki to grapple with his inner demons, a repeating theme in Loki. Classic Loki also provides another connection between the separate universes of Earth-616 and Earth-199999 besides small references to Earth-616 in Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. The MCU has been slowly building towards the idea of the MCU multiverse, but this connection would allow Marvel to explore the idea of multiverses further leading up to the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The Arrowverse maybe adding a new hero to Gotham City as Renee Montoya is reportedly set to join Batwoman season 3. Batwoman season 2 ended with major changes coming for Gotham City as Kate Kane, finally having been given her memories back left Gotham City to look for her cousin Bruce Wayne and finally passed the mantle of Batwoman onto Ryan Wilder. The various weapons of Batman villains like the Penguins umbrella and the Mad Hatter's hat have now fallen into the hands of various civilians across Gotham City, and even with the addition of Luke Fox as Batwing, Batwoman will need more help combating this new rise in crime.
Renee Montoya was first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series before joining the comics in Batman #475. The character has often been depicted as a detective for the Gotham City Police Department and one of DC Comics' most prominent LGBTQ+ characters. In 2007, during the event series 52 (which also was the debut of Kate Kane as Batwoman), Montoya adopted the identity of the superhero detective, The Question, and has been a major player in the DC Universe.

According to a report from The Illuminerdi, Batwoman season 3 is looking to cast Renee Montoya. The breakdown describes her as a former GCPD officer who left the department due to GCPD’s treatment of Gotham’s marginalized citizens and has been relegated to a paper-pusher, now in charge of the “freaks division” in the Mayor’s office. She is also described as virtuous, practical, and on a personal mission to clean up Gotham’s streets the right way by any means necessary. The breakdown says they are looking to cast a Latinx or Afro-Latinx actress in her mid-30s and are encouraging performers who identify as LGBTQ+ to submit.
Montoya's appearance in Batwoman would mark the character's third live-action appearance. Her first appearance was on the Fox series, Gotham, played by Victoria Cartagena, yet the character only appeared in one season. The character made her DCEU appearance in Birds of Prey played by Academy Award-nominated star, Rosie Perez. This would mark the character's first appearance in the Arrowverse continuity.
The addition of Renee Montoya to Batwoman season 3 raises many possibilities for the direction of the series. Given her sexuality in the comics, the character could be set up as a potential love interest for Ryan Wilder's Batwoman, similar to how Kate Kane's love interest in the comics was detective Maggie Swayer. Montoya herself was a former love interest of Kate Kane in the comics, so the comics have precedent for Montoya being in a relationship with a Batwoman. Montoya's history as The Question could open the door for the original Question to have existed in the Arrowverse continuity and would tie into the series' theme of legacy and taking on mantles from past heroes. Either way, it appears the streets of Gotham have a new hero to look out for them.

Over a year after its initial release on PlayStation 4, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will give Sucker Punch's acclaimed samurai game a full-fledged PS5 version. Along with a variety of other new features, a brand new expansion is included in the Director's Cut. Both new and returning players will now be able to take Jin to the neighboring island of Iki to investigate that front of the Mongol invasion. Many Ghost of Tsushima fans have probably upgraded to a PlayStation 5 since the game first came out and will be looking to similarly upgrade their copy of Ghost.
Unfortunately, upgrading to the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is not free. Ghost of Tsushima already got an update to run at 60 frames per second on the PS5, but this was done through a patch to the PS4 version. Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will be the first version of the game specifically designed for the new console.

According to a PlayStation Blog post regarding the Director's Cut, those who already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut for $30. If PlayStation 5 owners are jumping into Ghost for the first time, it will cost the now-standard $70. If players don't wish to upgrade, and choose to remain on the PS4 version, the Director's Cut expansion will still cost $20. This essentially means that all the new content pertaining to Iki Island will cost $20, and an additional 10 is owed to upgrade to the PS5 version.
That $10 upgrade to the PS5 version does not really deliver a whole lot. Features only possible thanks to the DualSense controller will now be supported. Haptic feedback will bring new tactile immersion, while adaptive triggers will bring some weight to drawing a bow. Other technical aspects exclusive to the PS5 will be taken advantage of as well, with 3D Audio being implemented, the SSD slashing Ghost of Tsushima's load times, and the dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60 fps.
But perhaps the most interesting new element coming to the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is lip sync while using Japanese voice over. In the PS4 version, Japanese voices could be used, but cutscenes were rendered with English lip syncing. The PS5 reportedly allows cutscenes in the Director's Cut to be rendered in real time, allowing character lips and language to match. While an interesting and welcome new feature, its up for debate whether or not it justifies a buy-in for existing players, especially since other games are offering free next-gen upgrades. Final judgment will have to be reserved until Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is actually released in order to assess the amount of content for the price, but for now the paid upgrade is may sit uncomfortably with some players.

Miller McCormick, Mac Miller's brother, criticized Machine Gun Kelly for starring in a movie about the late musician titled Good News. Miller was a popular hip-hop and R&B musician. At the young age of 26, he tragically passed away in 2018. After being found unresponsive, it was determined that he died from an accidental drug overdose. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, his music, and the fans' lives he touched around the world.
Good News is a fictional account of the final days of a young, talented, albeit troubled musician. While not directly based on any sole individual, it's noted to be inspired by Mac Miller, Lil Peep, Pop Smoke, and Juice Wrld. Colson Baker, a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly, is confirmed to be starring in the lead role. Tim Sutton (Funny Face) is credited as the writer and director of the project, which will start filming on July 8 in Los Angeles.

HNHH reported on McCormick calling out Baker and all those involved in the film on his Instagram story. He specifically criticizes the movie's title being the same as the first posthumous single from the late Miller. The track is a personal one, as it emphasizes his life struggles. McCormick's Instagram story post said, "f*** you. f*** your movie. at least change the title."
Baker is more commonly known by the name Machine Gun Kelly due to the rapid rhythm of his lyrics. While he is primarily recognized for his music career, this isn't Baker's first performance in a film. He played Tommy Lee in The Dirt, Ty in Nerve, and Jurgis in Captive State. His mix of experience in music, particularly in hip-hop, and in acting is likely what drew Sutton to Baker for the lead role. Good News has the potential to be a successful movie, but that could be more of a challenge if Sutton and Baker don't properly address the situation.
While Good News is not directly based on any artist's life in particular, its inspirations are clear. Titling the film after Miller's posthumous work is particularly alarming. It will be interesting to see how Sutton and Baker respond to the criticism, if they do at all. If Miller's fans make enough noise, it's possible they will at least make a statement. Even if the project's intentions are entirely positive, it's important to respect Miller's memory and acknowledge the family that has lost a loved one at such a young age.

Spider-Man: No Way Home toys may have revealed that Scorpion will make his MCU return in the upcoming film. Other than the title, very few details have been officially announced for Tom Holland’s third solo outing as Peter Parker, leading to widespread fan speculation about new and old character who could appear in the movie. Now, it looks like Scorpion might feature as one of No Way Home’s villains.
Of course, even if Scorpion does appear in No Way Home, it won’t technically be his MCU debut. Mac Gargan, the character who eventually becomes Scorpion, already faced off against Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming, albeit without any superpowers of his own. A post-credits scene showed Gargan scheming to take revenge on the wall-crawler, and it looks like that might finally happen in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

A recently-unveiled No Way Home tie-in LEGO set has shown what might be the MCU’s version of Scorpion. The set is of a battle in Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, with Strange, Spider-Man, and Wong all facing off against a large, green, armored creature. The coloring is very similar to Scorpion’s iconic comic book look, the creature has two large pincers that resemble the villain’s weapons, and the whole design appears rather insectoid. There’s also a smaller, blue scorpion hidden in the background of the Sanctum, though that may be unrelated to the larger creature.
So, is this monster the MCU’s Scorpion? It seems likely. While the comics version of the character has traditionally been a bit humanoid and possessed a more pronounced stinger tail, a larger, more mechanical Scorpion would make sense for the Homecoming Spider-Man universe. In the first film, Vulture was transformed from his comic counterpart into a much more mechanical character – more of an exosuit than anything. And when Max Gargan appeared in Homecoming, he was trying to purchase some of the same alien technology that created the Vulture suit.
Scorpion is one of the most famous and longstanding Spider-Man villains, and one that hasn’t yet appeared in a theatrical film. Combined with the LEGO set, that makes a pretty compelling case for him being one of the bad guys in No Way Home. Rumors say that the new movie will continue to deal heavily with the multiverse, which would mean there’d probably be many more villains for Spider-Man to battle than just Scorpion. But a duel in the Sanctum against one of the wall-crawler’s most infamous foes? That would certainly be a cool moment for Spider-Man: No Way Home to include.

The youngest Jenner is heavily marketing the Kylie Cosmetics products to the best of her abilities. However, the consumers of 2021 aren't sold that easily.
Before being in the spotlight for her new products, Kylie was the center of pregnancy rumors. The rumors began when Kylie joined her baby daddy Travis Scott for a red carpet appearance. The 23-year-old beauty also hinted at her reunion with the rapper by posting a picture with him. In the photo, the pair is holding Kylie's belly. Many Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans were convinced Travis and Kylie's second baby is probably coming in winter, and that could be the only plausible reason behind their reunion.

However, with Kylie's upcoming product line, the pregnancy rumors seemed to have simmered down. The beauty mogul seems focused on her brand right now. However, many Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans and potential buyers are disappointed to see this picture and the promotional tactic. Fans heavily criticized Kylie's styling and marketing team. Kylie's outfit appeared so overpowering to some fans that they couldn't locate where the product was in the photo. A critic wrote (via Reddit), "I hate the way she promotes her products, the product always looks like an afterthought." Another comment read, "Kylie cosmetics needs to retire." A third fan wrote, "Just be irrelevant already."
A few fans are even blaming Kylie for triggering trypophobia, an aversion to clusters of small holes or bumps, due to her outfit. But some of Kylie's loyal fans appreciated her picture. The Big Brother 23 fans are paying close attention to Alyssa Lopez, and we already know a lot about this houseguest. Per CBS, Alyssa is 24 years old and lives in Sarasota, Florida. She is a fashion designer who owns a company of swimwear apparel. Alyssa loves working out, going to the beach, and spending time with her two dogs, Jeter and Piper. Her favorite Big Brother duo is Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson, the most notorious showmance from BB19. She also thinks fondly of Jeff Schroeder, because BB11 was the first season she ever watched. This season will get kickstarted on Wednesday, July 7 on CBS, right before the premiere of Love Island USA season 3.
