I am in shock that Lamb Chop is currently in last in the best 90s PBS kids show poll. Truly in shock.

As a result I am sharing this song that has been stuck in my head since I was a child. A song that truly does not end.

#No but really I feel so incredibly lucky to have had Shari Lewis as part of my childhood #My mom and I always watched Lamb Chop's Play-Along together #and she'd tell me how Lamb Chop and Shari Lewis had been on TV since she was a kid #this woman was on TV with her puppets from 1952 right up to her death in 1998 how incredible was that????????#I had this amazing Lamb Chop puppet as a kid #Also! Did you know that Shari Lewis and her husband wrote an ep of Star Trek TOS together?#The Lights of Zetar in season 3 is by her and then husband Jeremy Tarcher!#the ep the Star Trek wiki is named after!!#like this woman's impact on pop culture is beyond belief #also truly I can not get this song out of my head #it has been playing nonstop there since the early 90s there is no relief #But truly lamb chop was so special to my childhood #there was also a really good channukah special!#No but seriously - when Shari Lewis testified before congress #about children's television #she brought Lamb Chop #and got Lamb Chop PERMISSION TO SPEAK AT THE HEARING

#purrs #delete later #sure would be an INFINITELY more special and auspicious day if there wasn’t going to be • thunderstorms all day • a budget meeting • two #back to back orientations where i am going to have to take on 2X THE FACILITATION ROLESSSSS 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 bc we’re doing that now. LMFAOOOOOO #<- and by that i mean splitting up the facilitation so instead of 4 ppl shari ng responsibility for talking AND doing logistics there’s 2 #ppl talking and 2 ppl doing logistics. and mutuals need i remind you that facilitating this specific session requires being extremely high #energy and mobile and getting ppl ‘hyped’ and there are 383729473 reasons why that is difficult for me to do in front of 100+ new students #plus three cofacilirators i am scared of / intimidated by for various reasons. im going to be sick soooo genuinely. i HATE this 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣#anyways yeah. today is my one year anniversary and also my first day as an fte so. 🫠 and one year ago today was pretty awful too like my #first day was actually extremely extremely bad and i cried like multiple times every day that week bc it kept getting worse so. love how #things have changed so substantially since then and the things that triggered me on that day aren’t an issue anymore <3 (they are very much #still an issue it’s just the specific people involved have changed bc half the ppl working here including one of my dearest closest #mentors who was deeply involved in that situation have left the university and now it is utterly unrecognizable and every day i wake up in #an alternate universe i know deep down i am not supposed to be in and yet im trapped in it irreversibly and this IS my universe now. lolll 🥰#)) also ik it’s stupid to still be grieving over this but like. the entire way it all went down + the fact that it even did in the first #place and the STAGGGERING consequences of it. are kind of insane. every new development makes me feel more and more like im living in a fake #reality and nothing that is happening is supposed to be happening and im dreaming it all but it’s a bad dream. and idk how to accept #that this is NOT. a dream and that what happened happened and now i have to live with it and stop curling in on myself like a prey animal an #and isolating myself from everyone i love and taking every single conceivable situation badly. like tfw da therapy isn’t working 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰#anyways i need to go get ready and practice the fucking 16 page facilitation guide 🙄 see u on the other side lol

🏎️I hc Matt and Creech having a very close relationship despite how little time they may be together. They just sort of weirdly click. Creech is incredibly nice and the type of person Matt just wants to be nice towards. She brings out the best in him somehow. He doesn't tease her too much, and it's not necessarily bc he doesn't think she can handle it.

She's kind of like a sister to him that he just wants to hang out with and protect. She also has a lot on her plate while being so young. Maybe the youngest Cybersite ruler he's met so far? She has a big heart and takes things with a graceful seriousness. That race meant a lot to her and she still talks about it a lot. How much pressure it was not to fail again and how grateful she is to the Cybersquad.

🪄 For Shari, I hc she's actually not romantically interested in Matt but is just overly affectionate. She gives all her friends little pecks on the cheek to show gratitude. Sadly, he thought she was and is a touch heartbroken over it for a while. After they talk it over, he still wants to be her friend and they stay very close.

Shari's the type to shower people with compliments, it's just who she is. Even without the romantic connotations, it means a lot to Matthew, and is somehow both a great ego boost and incredibly humbling. You do not want to disappoint someone like Shari.

🛹 WHERE do I even begin with Slider. Hatred. Jealousy. Confusion. Admiration. Adoration. Annoyance. More Jealousy. UGH. His biggest enemy, crush and least toxic guy friend rolled up in one.

I hc Matt has a lot of guy friends back on Earth who are just not great influences on him. Some of them are good kids, but as a group they're the type to take "boys will be boys" for granted. Combined with his father's influence, you have Matt from early Cyberchase.

Slider's the type of guy to quietly take on Matt's competitive nature and win or lose, shake his hand afterwards. Or probably fist bump, hehe. Slider doesn't entertain Matt's nastier, jealous side, in fact straight up ignores it sometimes. Which really gets Matt's goat. He's also not afraid to tell Matt to cut it out.

Matt cannot help but envy how Slider seems to take everything with a grain of salt, everything just rolls off that dude's back. Some stuff just ain't worth his time, worth thinking about, and Matt wishes so bad he could be like that. He's just a bit too loud when he tries not to care. It's obvious.

TANGENT ASIDE-... Matt's known some of his Earth friends for years, but he probably knows infinitely more about Slider. The guy's a surprisingly open book, when it comes to both the bad and the good.

It takes a bit, but Matt mellows out. Maybe a year later realize how big a crush he has on Slider... slowly grows out of it since Slider also seems disinterested in any relationships. [Girls. Guys. They're all throwing themselves at him and he's just not into it. Influenced by your hc ofc ;3]
