USS Arizona (BB-39) on the East River, departing the New York Navy Yard on her shakedown cruise, on November 16, 1916. "As completed, the ship had very little superstructure and a small bridge. Rangefinders are visible atop both masts. The mast mounted radio antennae have been lowered for passage under the East River bridges."
Photographed from Manhattan Bridge.

I read the Angel book "Shakedown..." and I have to say that I wasn't the biggest fan of the villains in this book, but everything else in it was A++ stuff, that I wasn't expecting.
First of all, I love all of the Irish heritage that the author brought to it--that they even note that they did--which of course works so well with Angel and Doyle.
But I also just feel like this has some of the best character work in any of the Angel books I've read so far?
Like this bit about Angel thinking throughout the whole book about one of the most awful things he ever did, that happened when he first became a vampire... but, like, he's reluctant to think about how it ended (because it's that dark/grim). But towards the end, there's a moment where he gets pulled into his own head (it's a side effect of the villains' plot), and he and Angelus are fighting for control, and Angelus tortures him with it. The whole thing was great. As was this Angel and Angelus segment.
There are also just so many cute and funny character moments?
Drunk Cordy is adorable.
And Angel having to go on a date with Kate--but it being the most awkward thing ever, because they had nothing to talk about--was wonderful.
I also loved Angel trying to find a sense of belonging throughout this book, and struggling with how he didn't really belong anywhere and wondering if he really deserved to.
And there was almost a new set of demons introduced here who were good, who Angel and Cordy were bonding with throughout.
All-in-all, I am here for all of the character and little moments in this book, that it didn't have to do but did.

I want to prove something just to all of us. To prove that we get so inundated and desensitized by all kinds of bs from trump during his 4 years of being potus, that in fact all the signs of trump being up to no good were always in front of us all but over time, we forget!
Do you remember when trump started his first year with a high priority to extort all the other nato member states to pay up more? He literally went country to country to shake them down.
I see that as trump’s way of staging for him to make United States to exit nato. He spent the remaining 4 years trying to make nato obsolete or to knee cap it by withdrawing troops from Europe.
