Another Dragon Age Origin comic based on a Brooklyn 99 meme. Featuring 3 elven rogues Zevran, my Grey Warden Sarai Tabris, and @malaroots Warden Pasca Mahariel. Because lbr I love the mental image of Zevran flirting with my city elf Warden the way Doug Judy flirts with Rosa Diaz.

Sarai Tabris: So I finally got Cammen and Gheyna to talk to each other, and now we're invited to their dumb wedding. The bride to be even braided these stupid flowers in my hair. (Holds up braid in disgust)

Zevran: Oh, it looks beautiful.

Pasca Mahariel: Yeah, it's kind of cute.

(Sarai cuts off braid)

Zevran, looking absolutely smitten: Please have my children.

Tbh, it's not that Sarai actually hates the braid or anything. It's just talking to the Dalish couple, and wearing flowers in her hair gives her bad memories of her own wedding. Also, it doesn't help that Zevran shamelessly keeps trying to flirt with her after Pasca convinced her not to kill the Ativan Crow after his failed attempt to assassinate them both.

'Undercover' Slugterra comic.

The first few weeks for Sarai going undercover at Blakk Industries were rough. Being away from her brother, Eli Shane, only to keep a safe profile was making her homesick and it doesn’t help that she’s known as a newbie.

So when Sarai overheard her mentor, Elyssa Moon, was managing the Shane gang’s infiltration, of course she wanted in (I could imagine she misses Eli and just wanted to see him).

Eli is aware on Sarai’s whereabouts at the time but never really acknowledged it. As much as Elyssa is irritated that her work shifts are back to back, she does tries her best to mentor Sarai. Now conflicted, Elyssa isn’t sure what to do if things go south, cause she has a clue on Sarai’s actions but isn’t quite sure why just yet. She can only for now, keep a close eye on her.

- Art trade with the marvellous @ariaterramoon!! Both Sarai and Saphira belongs to her too!! Now Im aware that Sarai’s job at the industries has to do with things outside the compound, but i guess you can take this as a soft-launch onto her permanent work placement since she is still new 😭

Anyways, hope y’all love this!! Sorry I couldnt do Trixie and Kord justice 😔 I haven’t done a comic in so long omg i was in the trenches.

PART 1: THE BASICS

• What is your full name?

Piper Noelle Harrington-Cruz

• Where and when were you born?

In Rhode Island on December 8th.

• Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

Adoptive Parents: Deshaun(👼🏾) and Chauncey Harrington. Married 28 years. Had custody of Piper since she was born.

Biological Parents: Michael and Valencia Vergara. Married 30 years.

Deshaun was a Professor of English at NYU before retiring at 38. After which she returned to her Salon business as a stylist and owner. She also helped Piper run her business until her untimely death. Her mom was a fun loving, energetic woman with a fiery attitude and optimistic disposition. she was young at heart, supportive and an amazing mom and glamma.

Chauncey is a business owner. In his lifetime, he has owned several businesses. From a car dealership and car wash, to a barber shop, and a few fast food franchises. He has always had several sources of income. Currently his main occupation is that of a property investor. He is a quiet man with little to say, has a strong sense of humility and strives to be the best at everything he can. Around his daughters, he’s very comical, always joking and sharing stories of his past with them. He’s very protective and vigilant when it comes to his girls.

Michael is a lawyer and a doting father to his two girls. Though he’s only known Piper for the past 7 years, he has built a loving relationship with her and her children. Valencia is a doctor. She is very sweet and caring, but also no nonsense. She and Piper have struggled with building a strong bond but the two love one other very much.

• Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?

Piper has 4 siblings. 1 older sister, Lauren Vergara(strong, determined, but guarded and stubborn) and 3 younger siblings, Yessica, Annabella, and Zalena. All of her younger siblings are similar in personality. They are all quite like Piper and very close knit.

• Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.

Piper lives in a Modern Mansion in Los Angeles with her sister and best friend, Sarai and their 4 kids.

• What is your occupation?

Like her father, Piper is a serial entrepreneur and owns several beauty based businesses. Currently she owns and operates 2 salons, a spa, and is in the process of building her medical Spa which is set to host its grand opening in the Spring. She also owns a cosmetics company, lash extensions line and is working on her own line of hair care products and extensions. She co-owns a food truck with her ex husband and son but only manages the books for the company. The business is for her son and he is the only one of the three who profits from the company.

• Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

Piper is 5’2, weighs 163, is mixed race(black, white, dominican), has long black hair and brown eyes. She likes to dress stylish, often times going through different trendy looks, but adding her own twist. She has several tattoos, the most important ones are the times of her children’s births on her ankle and arm.

• To which social class do you belong?

Piper is currently apart of the upper class but has been apart of both the lower and middle class before.

• Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?

No.

• Are you right- or left-handed?

Right.

• What does your voice sound like?

Sweet, modulated, and melodic on a normal day with a bit of raspiness when she’s sick or has been crying or yelling or overly excited.

• What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?

Girlll, Child, love bug, babes, hey boo, bitchhhhh, and please leave me the fuck alone are the most common.

• What do you have in your pockets?

Nothing. I carry a purse. I keep my wallet, phone, make up, gloss/lipstick, and protection from weirdos with me at all times.

• Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

None that I can think of.

PART 2: GROWING UP

* How would you describe your childhood in general?

Pipes had a great childhood. In the beginning, her parents struggled to conceive and adopted her in the years after taking in Piper, they fell on hard times, but were able to bounce back relatively quickly. Her parents never let Piper or her younger sister see their struggles. They often went back and forth between Rhode Island and New York. Her parents covered her, protecting her from seeing how bad things were. Eventually, when they were in a better postion, her parents filled her childhood with beautiful memories of family time at amusement parks, trips, and more. She was very loved and taken care of.

Okay...

This post was one that I was unsure how to write. I'm white and I am very aware of my privilege.

I wanted today's post to highlight and center the voices of autistic BIPOC individuals and honestly, I couldn't just talk about a few. I wanted to put as many names out here for people to follow.

For those who want to follow and learn and for those who need to find these wonderful people in their community.

When researching and working on my list, I came across a post made by Autistic, Typing in 2019 as they had made a list of Autistic Black/ Indigenous/ People of Color & Latinx Advocates to follow.

There's something so beautiful about the blood moon huntress taking the time to explain Runaan's philosophy and how Ethari feels about it.

TDP is so good with making every character and every fantasy race complex, and never making the answer black and white. King Harrow was a good, loving man who did his best to make decisions that would benefit the kingdom. In a moment of weakness, he succumbed to revenge. That led the Moonshadow elves to believe he was "resolved to bring chaos and death." They saw him as more corrupt than good, which we know is not true (to an extent), but from the Moonshadows' perspective, he is. And we get to see that.

But we also get to see how deeply the idea that life is precious is engraved in Moonshadow culture. They literally can't use one of their primary powers until they begin to understand the balance between life and death. A primary understanding for assassins is that even though they are removing hate, they are also removing the potential for love. The Moonshadows understood that Harrow (in this example) was capable of love, but they saw him as much too violent to be kept alive. And this stems from centuries of history and mistrust of humans. All of these have their own myths and truths and valid reasons as well as unjustified hatred.

The key part of this comic is that the elves and humans never tried to resolve this with words. Not when Queen Sarai died, not when Thunder was killed, not ever, in their most recent history. They immediately jump to murder and action, even though they claim that it was a last resort. You UNDERSTAND that the murder they commit is wrong, and often there WAS another way, but you also completely understand why they do it. The series is from the perspective of the people who lost Harrow, this comic is from the perspective of the people who killed him. The show takes a clear stance that this is just a continuation of violence that never stops and that Harrow's death negatively affected so many people. Yet the comic takes a clear stance that what the Moonshadow elves are doing is deeply noble and self-sacrificing. It's a service to their community. It's just SUCH good writing of fantasy races and understanding the different philosophies different cultures hold. The Moonshadow elves are explained with such respect and regard for what they truly believe is right and how it is literally engraved in their culture and socializing.

"It's a necessary part of loving him, understanding his deep devotion to his people" - Ethari

It truly is necessary to understand how important protecting the community is to the elves. Necessary to understand their relationship with life and death and their understanding of how to take a life is to take away love.

It reminds me of Callum and Claudia's discussion about dark magic. From a certain standpoint, you should argue that killing animals and draining their power is no less unethical than eating meat. You SEE both perspectives. It reminds me of how to kill Viren is to take away Claudia's love for him. No matter who you kill, you take away that potential for love, no matter how horrible they are.
