so. i'm intoxicated. and today, here is my presentation on a dark rewrite of the first season of legends of tomorrow i hold near and dear to my heart. This is because I am currently watching it and every time rip monologues I think this.

RIP. SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE MAIN VILLAIN. THE VILLAIN WHO WANTED TO SAVE HIS FAMILY SO BAD HE WOULD RISK EVERYONE AND ANYONE TO DO SO.

SAVAGE. SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE RED HERRING. YES, HE IS NOT A GOOD GUY: HE HAS BEEF WITH CARTER AND KENDRA (WHICH IS WHO RIP EXPLOITS TO SELL HIS STORY THAT HE'S A GOOD GUY) AND HE KILLED RIP'S FAMILY BUT HE'S ACTUALLY NOT THE TARGET EVERYONE'S EYE SHOULD BE ON. IT'S ACTUALLY RIP TEARING THROUGH TIME TO KILL SAVAGE THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO DESTROY THE UNIVERSE, AND WHAT EVERYONE IS SEEING WHEN THEY SHOW THEM THE FUTURE IS BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE THEY'RE DOING GOING AFTER SAVAGE. THE LONGER IT TAKES THEM TO FIGURE OUT THAT RIP IS THE VILLAIN THE MORE CEMENTED THE DESTROYED FUTURE BECOMES.

MICK. SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TO FIGURE IT OUT. THIS IS WHY RIP HATED HIM IMMEDIATELY, BECAUSE HE KNOWS MICK IS ONTO HIM, AND THAT IS WHY HE DIMINISHES MICK SO BADLY TO HIS WORST TRAITS. THAT IS WHY MICK DECIDES TO BECOME CHRONOS. HE WANTS RIP TO BE FRIGHTENED OF HIM TO GET PAYBACK FOR HOW RIP SIGNALED HIM OUT IMMEDIATELY, AS WELL AS SAVE THE MEMBERS OF THE WAVERIDER. HE WANTS RIP TO RUE THE DAY HE DECIDED TO UNDERESTIMATE HIM.

SNART. SHOULD HAVE PRETENDED TO NOT KNOW BUT ACTUALLY FIGURED IT OUT AT THE SAME TIME AS MICK. HE WAITS TO EXPOSE RIP BECAUSE HE'S CURIOUS ABOUT HIS PLANS. HE FINALLY HAS ENOUGH WHEN SNART REALIZES THAT RIP THINKS SNART IS AS COLD-BLOODED AS HE IS -- THAT RIP GENUINELY THOUGHT SNART WOULD KILL MICK TO SERVE HIMSELF. THAT'S WHEN HE FINALLY BEGINS TO SHED THE FACADE THAT HE IS NOT THE GOOD MAN BARRY ALLEN HAS ALWAYS SAID HE COULD BE.

SARAH. SHOULD HAVE NOTICED RIP HAD A DARK SIDE TO HIM, BUT GREW TO BE QUITE CLOSE TO HIM. SHE DIDN'T WANT TO BELIEVE WHAT SHE WAS SEEING. SHE WANTED TO BELIEVE IN THE GOOD OF HIM TO PROVE SHE STILL WAS HUMAN TO HERSELF.

RAY. SHOULD HAVE BEEN SO DEPRESSED AND DESPERATE TO BE SEEN AS SOMETHING THAT HE REFUSES TO ADMIT HE COULD HAVE SIGNED ONTO A MISSION DRIVEN BY A MADMAN. IT MAKES HIM FEEL MORE NAIVE THAN EVER TO KNOW THAT THOSE HE WROTE OFF AS CRIMINAL AND AMORAL FIGURED RIP OUT BEFORE HE DID.

KENDRA. SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TO WANT REVENGE FOR THE BETRAYAL BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO CARTER. HER INNER-GODDESS IS ITS MOST INCONSOLABLE UPON THE REVEAL.

STEIN. SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY MORTIFIED THAT HE RISKED THE LIFE OF HIS PARTNER (AGAIN) OVER A MISSION HE DID NOT VET PROPERLY, SHOWING HE HAD ALWAYS BEEN A SELF-SERVING BASTARD AND THAT HE HADN'T CHANGED SINCE RONNY.

JAX. SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TO THINK OF A WAY TO STOP RIP WITHOUT CAUSING WORLD DESTRUCTION. THE LAST THING RIP SHOULD HAVE FOUND OUT BEFORE DEATH WAS THAT THE ONLY ONE WHO CHANGES THE TRAGEDY OF THEIR PASTS IS JAX, WHOSE FATHER COMES HOME.

sorry it's in caps lock. I realized halfway through that's gonna be hard to read but I can't go back and change it now.

but yeah. that's some of my thoughts on how I'd rewrite legends of tomorrow season one to serve darker whims.

For those that want to start Legends of Tomorrow but are overwhelmed by the lore a brief summary of the characters so you don’t have to watch Arrow or Flash

Legends of Tomorrow (summary of characters to get you caught up)

I recommend you start with season two as season one especially they try too hard to fit into the dark and gritty style of the other Arrowverse shows like arrow and Flash, and don’t really become their fun selves until around season three. But for now I’ll just give a summary of the first season characters who have ties to the greater Arrowverse.

The Legends of Tomorrow is a show about B (maybe C) list super heroes who have been recruited to a time traveling team to stop a supervillain from destroying the future.

You have Sarah Lance “AKA white canary” younger sister of Lorel Lance, she left on a boat trip with her sister’s boyfriend Oliver Queen. During a storm she was lost at sea and thought dead. This wasn’t the case as she eventually found herself rescued by “The League of Assassins” where she trained for five years. Before returning home to Star City where Oliver Queen had also returned adopting the persona of Vigilante Green Arrow (think batman with a bow and arrow). While helping Oliver fight crime she was killed and a year later brought back to life using the Lazarus Pit, her soul being restored by John Constantine.

Leonard Snart and Mick Rory are two thieves who mostly steal things, but occasionally helped the hero of their city, the Flash (superfast guy dressed in red). Snart uses a gun that freezes things, Rory uses a gun that shoots fire. (Snart also has a sister that has a gun that turns things to gold, not important to Legends, but she was pretty cool character.) [Spoilers ahead for season one ahead: at the end of season one Snart sacrifices himself in order to save his team and destroy the Time Masters (think more evil Time Lords)]

Ray Palmer “aka the Atom” (think Iron man if Tony stark was a himbo and instead of a super suit created the technology for antman) Palmer at some point takes over Oliver Queen’s company. Before this his fiancé was killed and wanting to never be helpless again he created his super suit and tried to help fight crime. Being a little too bumbly this proved more a problem to Arrow and his teammates than helpful.

Firestorm is a super hero made up of two people (think When our powers combine) before the legends fire storm was made up of Martin Stein, a scientist who accidentally fused himself with a man named Ronnie Raymond so that the two inhabited one body for a time. After Ronnie died, Martin’s health started to deteriorate as the Firestorm genes in him required him to have someone to link with. Team Flash tracked down a compatible partner in a mechanic named Jefferson Jackson. Now combined Martin acts as the brains and Jefferson as the body as they produce flames from their body (think human torch.)

Hawkman and Hawkgirl are the main story focus in the first season. They have a connection that started back in ancient Egypt where a run in with a sorcerer, Vandal Savage, gave them the ability to be reincarnated. Each incarnation Vandal hunts down and kills in order to gain stronger.

Rip Hunter is a man from the distant futures who gathers this team together in order to stop Vandal Savage, who in his future has brought great destruction on the world. With him Rip brings a time ship with an AI named Gideon. The ship allows them to travel through time as they try to find ways to stop Vandal Savage before the future Rip witnessed comes to pass.

EDIT: for those with an aversion to “Holes” be careful of season 4 where the main villain sometimes appears in his demon form with a face that resembles a bee hive.

A less spelly mistakey words thing

now that someones gone through it with me here is a updated version of the ... drabble ig?

Panting and feet running through a forest is all that can be heard. A man in a green outfit with a green hood runs through the trees- rushed, on a time limit. He jumps and grabs onto a branch. Swinging, and dropping before resuming running.

Reaching some rocks he starts to climb them, never stopping until he gets to the top. When he stops at the top he looks out onto the island bay to see a fishing boat. He then jumps from rock to rock and resumes running once onto the grass again. He runs over a piece of cloth, turns around, and gets low to the ground. Sticking a Knife into the ground he opens the cloth for a bow and arrows. Then he takes the bow and an arrow, strikes the head of the arrow against a nearby rock, and starts it on fire, then he stands up and aims for a wood pile he’d made. Firing the arrow hits its mark and the pile of wood lights up.

On the ship, two men are visibly working, One sees the fire and alerts the other in the language familiar to them. The other working man turns in shock to see the flames.

“The name of the Island they found me on is Lian Yu,” the green-clothed man says

The two fishermen approach the fire once on the island.

“It’s Mandarin for purgatory” The green man approaches the two men, and the fishermen look at him in astonishment. “I’ve been stranded here for five years. I’ve dreamt of my rescue every cold, black night since then.”

He gets closer.

“For five years I’ve had only one thought,” He gets on his knees exhausted, and pulls down his hood to reveal his long, dirty, blond hair, the same as the beard on his face: long, dirty, and blond. “One goal, survive. Survive and one day, return home.”

They row him back out to the fisherman's boat. They give him a blanket and some drinkable water. “The island had many dangers. To live, I had to make myself more than what I was,” He takes a drink from the cup. “To forge myself into a weapon. I am returning, not the boy who was shipwrecked, but the man who will bring justice to those who have poisoned my city.” he looks up from the cup and stares out onto the island. “My name is Oliver Queen.”

“Oliver Queen is alive,” The newscaster starts with the title ‘LOST BILLIONAIRE FOUND’ in front of him. “The Starling city Resident was found by fishermen in the North China sea five days ago. Five years after he was missing and presumed dead following the accident at sea which claimed the Queen’s Gambit.”

Some videos and photos from before he left Star city pop up on the screen. “Queen was a regular tabloid presence and a fixture at the starling city club scene. Shortly before his disappearance, he was acquitted of assault charges stemming from a highly publicized drunken altercation with paparazzi.”

The screen goes back to the newscaster. “Queen is the son of Starling city billionaire Robert Queen who was also on board but now officially confirmed as deceased.”

At a hospital, Oliver Queen is staring out a window at the city as a doctor starts talking outside of the room. “Twenty percent of his body is covered in scar tissue.’ he says softly. “Second-degree burns on his back and arms. X-ray shows at least 12 fractures that never properly healed” The doctor is shown outside of the room talking to a blond woman.

“Has he said anything about what happened?” The woman asks

“No, he’s barely said anything.” Responds the doctor to her question. “Moira, I’d like you to prepare yourself. The Oliver you lost might not be the one they found.” With that Moira turns to Oliver and opens the door.

As she steps into the room no reaction comes from Oliver. “Oliver?” She calls out concerned. However with that Oliver turns around to face Moira, once facing her he gives her a small smile.

“Mom.” Oliver acknowledges, and with that, they both walk forward to meet each other.

“Oh.” Moira starts, with tears welling up in her eyes. “My beautiful boy.” And she goes in for a hug. Oliver returns it as tears start forming in his eyes as well. Moira places a kiss behind his ear, and they stay like that for some time.

A black limo approaches a Manor, eventually coming to a stop and parks. The people riding in the limo step out when the door is opened. The trunk opens to reveal a wooden crate with letters on it. A worker goes to move it but, Oliver Queen also gets it and takes it inside with him, along with a quiet, “I’ve got it.”

“Your room is exactly as you left it.” Moira starts as she and Oliver walk into the Manor. “I never had the heart to change a thing.”

“Oliver.” A man calls out, it is a Black man, He’s bald and wearing a blue suit and tie. “It’s damn good to see you.” a smile crosses his face, but when no reaction comes from Oliver, the smile dimms. “It’s Walter,” Walter says introducing himself, Oliver and Walter shake hands. “Walter Steele.”

“You Remember Walter,” Moira says as a maid comes into the room. “Your father’s friend from the company.” Walter smiles at Oliver and he gives one back, then Oliver walks off, towards the maid.

“It’s good to see you, Raisa,” Oliver says greeting the Maid- Raisa.

“Welcome home, Mr. Oliver.” Raisa acknowledges with a smile, and then she turns to Moira and Walter to address them. “Mr. Merlyn phoned. He wants to join you for dinner.”

“Wonderful” Moira answers and Oliver turns toward her then looks past her and up. “Oliver, did you hear that?” Oliver walks past her to whatever he’s looking at, a smile on his face.

He’s looking up the stairs when a girl comes around the banister. A white girl, long, brown hair resting on her shoulders, she's wearing a lavender tank top, some jeans, and slip-on sneakers. “Hey, sis,” Oliver says greeting.

The teen smiles and starts down the stairs, “I knew it. I knew you were alive.” She says on her way down. Once she gets close enough to him they hug. “I missed you so much.”

“You were with me the whole time,” Oliver says comfortingly.

Once they are done hugging Moira steps forward. “Oliver, While you have been gone there have been some... New additions to the household, Walter for one and the second, Um…” She stumbles off looking for the right words and Oliver’s sister intervenes.

“She picked up a stray,” Thea explains.

“What, did we adopt a Cat?” Oliver questions, however, adopt seems to be the trigger word and Moira starts talking again.

“No, no Oliver. We didn’t adopt a pet,” Moira starts explaining as Oliver’s confusion grows. “And Thea, stop calling your brother a stray.”

“Brother?” Oliver asks as Thea starts smirking.

“Back in 2008, I was walking to Queen Consolidated and I turn a corner to see police escorting a teen boy into a cruiser, for some divine reason my stomach dropped so I asked one of them what's going on,” Moira starts explaining, gesturing with her hands every so often. “He told me that the child was a run-away from New Jersey, Gotham I believe the City was called, he was an orphan that had been placed in a juvenile detention facility because the only orphanage in that town was full.”

“Wow,” Oliver says at a loss for better words, eyes widening in shock. “Why didn’t they just transfer him to an orphanage in a different city?”

“When I asked that, I got told that by the time anyone thought of that as an option, he had already escaped five times, and would need to stay there for a few months, before he could be transferred as running away is a crime in whatever city he was in. I said It was ridiculous and asked for his name, ‘Richard Grayson’ was his name. Concern kicked in as they started the journey back to Gotham and eventually I started the process of taking him in.”

“W-well then…” Oliver starts only to stumble off then makes a shrugging gesture “Our little brother is missing the family gathering,” with that, Moira and Walter visibly relax. “Where is he?”

“If he’s not on any chandeliers,” Thea starts and Oliver raises an eyebrow. “He’s probably at the Gym, or on a date with another redhead… hey Ollie, If you don't want him to date any of your friends, don't befriend redheads,”

“Okay… then?”

“Either way, He’ll be home for dinner”

In a law firm, two women are talking, both are wearing suits. One is a black woman with long black hair, the other is a white woman with similar-length brown hair. “Come on, Laurel. We’re lawyers, not miracle workers.” The first one says as the second one, Laurel, holds a case file. “We can’t win this.”

“If we can’t win a class action suit against a man who swindled hundreds of people out of their homes and life savings,” Laurel starts calmly. “Then we’re not fit to call ourselves a legal aid office.” The two women both start walking, the first woman going to the left side of Laurel.

“And if we go bankrupt in the process, we won't be a legal aid office.” Laurel goes through the papers in her hand as her friend explains her side. “Hunt has an army of lawyers and they’re ready to bury us.”

They stop walking as Laurel turns to face her friend and starts talking. “You and I against an army. I love those odds.”

“Why do you hate me?” Laurel starts to walk again as her friend stays still and crosses her arms. Eventually, Laurel reaches her desk and sits down in her chair as her friend leaves.

Laurel sighs as she looks over everything on her corkboard about Adam Hunt. in the background a newscaster is talking. “And in other news, details as to the castaway story you’ve all heard about. The son of a very wealthy billionaire will soon become a legendary story.” with that Laurel turns in her seat to look at the tv in the office. “Jessica now has more details and the complete castaway story.” The tv shows an updated photo of Oliver Queen as Jessica starts talking, and Laurel stands up.

“The Queen’s Gambit was last heard from more than five years ago.” Laurel starts making her way towards the Tv where some others are watching the news. “Mr. Queen has reportedly confirmed he was the only survivor of the accident that took the lives of seven people, including local resident Sarah Lance.” The tv now shows a white girl in a blue cap and gown. Laurel grabs the tv remote. “Survived by her sister, Laurel..” The tv is shut off and some people look toward Laurel in confusion or sympathy, and others walk away.

Oliver walks into his room from his bathroom connected to it, dressed only in a towel. His upper body shows several scars and tattoos. “After five years, everything that was once familiar is now unrecognizable.” he walks until he is in front of his bedroom window. Oliver then turns his head before turning his whole body. “The face I see in the mirror is a stranger.” he begins walking around his room before stopping and staring at the mirror, at his reflection. Thunder flashes two times and for a brief period of time during each one, he is back in the green hood.

The storm the ship sails through is bad, It rains harshly and thunder strikes every so often. On the ship, an older white man looks at the weather through a radar. Someone enters through an open door from the outside. “Storms a category two.” the second man says as he closes the door to the deck. “The captains recommending we head back.”

“Alright. Inform the crew.” The first one says as a young Oliver Queen turns the corner.

“Are we in trouble?” Oliver asks the men

“One of us is.” the second man responds as they walk down the hallway.

“Ollie?” a woman calls from a room. The second man keeps walking while the first stays behind with Oliver. “Where do you keep the bottle opener on this thing?” She asks while re-adjusting her robe.

“I’ll-I’ll be there in a minute, Sarah.” Oliver responds in Sarah's direction before she goes back into the room she was in and he turns back towards the first man.

“You know, son..” The first man- Oliver’s dad- Robert Queen starts as he approaches Oliver, eventually making it to him and wrapping an arm around Oliver. “That is not going to finish well, for either of them or for you.”

Oliver is back in his house and holding a picture of him and Robert Queen. As he stands in the main room the door behind him opens and a white, black-haired man walks in. when he sees Oliver a smile forms on his face. “What did I tell you? Yachts suck.” a smile forms on Oliver's face when he hears the voice and he turns around.

“Tommy Merlyn,” Oliver starts as Tommy rushes forward to meet him in a hug.��

“I missed you, buddy,” Tommy says as they embrace. Another figure comes through the door as they pull apart.

“Mr. Merlyn,” Oliver says in greeting to the man who looks similar to Tommy. As the man walks closer to the two Oliver holds his hand out for the man to take.

“Oliver,” Mr. Merlyn says, taking the offered hand for a good shake. “Please, refer to me as Malcolm, A. Mr makes me feel old. B. Your best friends with my son.” Malcolm says as he Gestures at Tommy. “Which, I don't know why but-” he is interrupted by the door opening a third time for a tanner man with black hair and blue eyes and Moira calling for dinner.

The new man nods to three men in the main room and walks toward the dining room. The other three stare at him for a bit before they decide to join the rest of the family.
