S/O’s extremely abusive father they cut ties with has tracked S/O down and is banging on the door, shouting insults that are not very family friendly while S/O is having a panic attack in another room.
(Main boys, your writing is extraordinary!)
Undertale Sans - He refuses to open the door and calls the cops. He then goes to join his S/O and asks if they want to hang out somewhere quieter. He then teleports his S/O to Toriel's place so you can calm down with some pie, before returning home to deal with the police and your father. Sans makes sure he's not coming back this time.
Undertale Papyrus - Papyrus and you are locked in his room, waiting for the police to arrive. Papyrus keeps talking about random subjects to cheer you up and calm you, while hugging you close. Nothing bad is going to happen, he can even block the door with a thousand bones if he manages to enter the house, which he won't be able to do of course. It's ok, he knows parents can be bad. He knows quite a lot about this actually. You're safe.
Underswap Sans - He locks his S/O in the room and opens the door to confront your father, asking aggressively what the hell his problem is. Your father tries to pass by force but he underestimates Blue's strength and only ends up pushed back on his butt, in shock. Blue warned he's a police officer and that he should think twice before attacking him again, or it will not end well for him. Unfortunately, your father is determined, and you quickly hear chaos and broken objects downstairs, as Blue is fighting your father waiting for back ups. He ends up being lightly injured, but also he pinned down your father on the floor until his colleagues arrive, preventing his escape. Blue is quite proud of himself and can now come back to you to comfort you.
Underswap Papyrus - Your father is freaking him out as well, so Honey teleports the both of you to Asgore's place. He's not sure what to do from here, but Asgore helps them to collect their thoughts. Honey calls his brother for help, and on his demand, you hang out all day with Asgore so the King's size dissuades your father from coming near if he finds where you went. Asgore distracts the two of you with a nice movie and some cooking so you don't think too much about this.
Underfell Sans - Even if S/O begs him to not open the door, Red refuses to stay that horrible man insults you without doing anything. So yeah, he opens, and immediately attacks your father. He's not good with hand-to-hand though and quickly has to retreat back home. He manages to close the door before your father comes in. Somehow, it makes him even angrier, and he ends up breaking the door. Red is waiting for him behind though, with two huge blasters blocking the way to get to you. He called Edge, he just has to gain time until he arrives. So he taunts your father, which is probably not the best move of his life, but somehow, it works and opens a way for Edge to sneak behind him and knock him out with a big rock.
Underfell Papyrus - He violently opens the door and takes a step forward, a few inches from your father's face. He's growling and he put his royal guard armor on to look even scarier. Your father thinks twice about this and finally decides to retreat, saying it's not over and that you will pay for this. It's all bluff though. Edge has enough experience to know your dad shit his pants and won't make the mistake of coming if he's here. He didn't even need to say anything. Edge goes to comfort you after that and assures you're safe.
Horrortale Sans - He's anxious because of all the noise and the more it lasts, the more agitated he is. You try to keep him with you while dealing with your panic attack because you know that if Oak snaps, he might make a big mistake. You try to make him focus on you, and eventually, he takes a deep breath and calms down. Your father gets bored eventually and leaves. The next day, Oak is putting bear traps in front of the house though (and Willow took them off not ten minutes later without him knowing because he doesn't want trouble with the police.
Horrortale Papyrus - He locks you in his room and goes to confront your father, to try to talk to them. Willow understood very quickly that talking wouldn't do anything when your father made the mistake of punching him. When he tries again, Willow grabs his fist and slowly crushes it, to prove to your father it's really not a good idea to start a fight with him. Willow's strength is scary and he's not using it only because he chose not to. But that's a warning. Either you leave or you find out. Your father decides to retreat, thankfully. Willow is a bit shaken, but he hopes it will be enough to bring you some peace of mind for some time. He comes to cuddle with you after that scary event.
Swapfell Sans - Nox has a short temper. He tries to ignore your father, he really does, but eventually, he snaps, goes out, and punches him in the stomach at full force before he can even react. He then makes his soul turn blue and he pushes him towards the sidewalk while threatening him to do way worse to him if he dares to come back and insults his S/O again. If he screams he's not scared, Nox will break his arm with cold blood. He's dead serious right now. He's a threat to his family, and you really don't want to see him when he defends the ones he loves.
Swapfell Papyrus - He's frustrated because he knows he's going to lose if he engages in a fight with your father. So he does this the only way he knows. He fills a bucket with burning water and throws it from the first floor on your father, who has no choice but to retreat. If he comes back, he's doing the same with frozen water. He has a bathroom and he knows how to use it. Leave already!
Fellswap Gold Sans - Oh he's really not amused. Wine takes death threats very seriously and he's extremely protective. He opens the door and tries to reason with your father, but the second he leans a hand on him, Wine stops holding back and he throws your dad on the floor and sends a sharp bone through his leg. He then kneels next to your dad and says that if he ever sees him again around his S/O, the next bone will end right between his eyes. He illustrates his words by bruising his front with the edge of the bone he used to injure him. Your father will for sure not make the same mistake again.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - Seeing you have a panic attack made him have a panic attack as well. You're both hiding in his wardrobe, desperately cuddling to each other and jumping at every hit on the door. Coffee panic calls his brother for help, who takes care of the situation the same way as above. Coffee and his S/O stay hidden until Wine comes to tell them there's no danger anymore. Not a good day.

I present to your attention the last member of The Nameless Quartet, and the main reason why I did not want to post my work is Black. Of all the company, this particular character was created by me. She was created in the strangest way, while I was watering vegetables in the garden. And the big problem with this character is my desire to constantly redo her story, design and character. At such moments, I felt like X!Gaster who was trying to achieve some kind of ideal. And in the end, I decided to focus on one of the very first versions of the plot.
What is the idea of her world:
After the war of humans and monsters, the first person falls into the dungeon. Chara gets into the monsters and their problem and really wants to help them get free. And then the royal scientist Gaster suggests one risky experiment. Try to create a creature based on the soul of a human and a monster that can go beyond the barrier, collect the necessary souls and destroy the barrier. It would seem why it was impossible to simply give the Chara's soul to someone for absorption, or for the person himself to absorb the soul of the monster, which was a rare phenomenon. The answer was the concern of the royal family about Chara's life. What was the probability that someone else would fall after her and make contact with monsters at the same time? Very small. That's why Chara agreed to this experiment. Sans, Gaster's adopted son, was chosen as the monster for her partner. Skeletons are the most human-like monsters. That's why the choice fell on him.
But during the experiment, something went wrong. Chara suddenly turned from a state of determination to hatred. She remembered how cruel the people around her were, that it was because of them that she decided to jump into the dungeon. "People are the cause of all the troubles in this world." Hatred of them caused the machine through which the experiment was conducted to malfunction and as a result, instead of a man and a monster, only a small gray skeleton remained, which began to show signs of life. The experiment spawned a creature called Black. Her soul, instead of determination or the usual soul of a monster, was a bundle of hatred. The royal family was unhappy with the result, especially Asriel, for whom Chara was a new member of the family, whom he loved very much.
But nevertheless, Black was able to cope with the task for which she was created. She crossed the barrier and did what was required of her. The barrier was destroyed. However, by the time she returned to the dungeon, Gaster had fallen into the core and the memory of him, as well as his experiment, was gone from everyone. As a result, Black had to survive in the doorways of both underground cities and those that were built on the outskirts of the mountain. For the sake of survival, she had to steal, from which she soon developed a tendency to kleptomania. The only monster she came into contact with was Papyrus, with whom she developed a friendly and trusting relationship.
But at the moment, the skeleton lives on an island under a tree. And what kind of tree is this, how Black was able to travel to other AU and put together an Unnamed Quartet, you will find out in the future or if you ask a question on this topic.
Speaking of Black herself, it is worth noting her smallness. She is lower than the original Sans and even has a little complex because of this. Nevertheless, her height allows her to penetrate narrow spaces and be more maneuverable. She is the closest to Volt in age, which is why these two have become real friends who like to annoy the "old men" Kyle and Dark. It was this energetic person who gathered all these skeletons and periodically (forces) invites them to hang out together.
But no one from the whole company still trusts each other one hundred percent, so everyone hides their skeleton in the closet.

Undertale Yellow feels like, and I don’t say this lightly, the Advent Children of UT/DR
Looks really cool, *is* really cool in a lot of the ways that count, even hits home sometimes… but also nobody who touched the production ever really “got” the original, so it’s just kinda hollow
That’s not always a bad thing, fanlike reverence leads to new ideas being created usually when people try to replicate the things they like about a work while cutting back on the less important bits. But when you tie it to this worship of the original text you get all these… janky halfhearted copies.
Like, oh, we gotta kinda have a Papyrus. Here’s your robot section. Didn’t you like Undertale’s Neutral Route? There’s some quieter comparison points where you can feel the thought that went into making UTY a fun reflection of the original. But also sometimes things feel needless, like they’re there to fill a quota.
The pacing gets this the worst- the actual main cast is introduced two thirds of the way through the story, so most of the early areas are JUST old Undertale zones without the humor or charm. Pacifist in particular suffers because of how much importance it puts on characters and scenarios that a first time player will have No time to care about.
The themes here are…. Incoherent. Copying Undertale’s structure so hard means that unintentionally a lot of the same Determination, Empathy, Content Consumption stuff gets reiterated, while the new stuff about Justice and Consequences feels like its totally shoved to the ends of each route where characters will start talking as if walking around doing random encounters and occasionally stumbling into bits with characters who immediately fall in love with you and proceed to do three bits before leaving means we’ve had some Deep Meaningful Arc together that is climaxing only now.
Which is to say at some point in every route characters will start ranting about Justice and Heroism in a way that just feels really goofy since it always comes out of nowhere. I can see the narrative bones of a fun western romp, but its buried under all this Undertale flavored fluff that makes the early game feel charming but hollow, the midgame feel abrupt and slow, and the endgame feel interesting but wayyyy too fast and undercooked for whats come before it.
And then there’s the Cool parts. The character design is just fifteen levels of weird, everyone is the same sort of lanky furry creature with these big mysterious angsty backstories that mainly serve to funnel people towards the two big endgame superbosses of Pacifist and Genocide. And they certainly are big, taking the form of long, multiphase endeavors with more than a few totally unbalanced attacks that go more for flash and overwhelming density than anything else.
And hey, I can’t say the flash doesn’t work…? I think with Deltarune as a comparison now, the weird reality breaking freaks of Jevil and Spamton feel a lot more interesting of a Sans followup but sure yeah, I can’t say that these anime powerups don’t look sick even if they feel a little disconnected from everything. But it feels like they exist at the expense of everything else as these all encompassing fixation points.
And hell, UTY is probably the *most* restrained Undertale fangame here, because you can tell in the base encounter design that clearly the developers liked the idea that Undertale was a game with encounters in it, even if the bits aren’t always as funny or charming they’re at least there and well executed. I like the random monsters! They’re probably my favorite thing here because they don’t feel exaggerated or cast aside to better focus in on the Cool Stuff
I dunno, I feel weirdly conflicted that a game so technically competent at emulating Undertale and so clearly passionate in its aims feels so uneven and clumsy. I’m glad it exists, I’m glad I played it, I just wish it was more… good. Maybe it’s in part that I got into Undertale from its influences (Homestuck and weird quirked up JRPGs) that it feels so weird to have those influences diminished to better do the Cool Stuff, but I feel if UTY wanted to just do the Cool Stuff it would have been better served not being so tied down to living up to the already lofty task of Undertale 2 without feeling like a direct to dvd and home video sequel.

☆ INTRODUCTION ☆
i originally came up with the idea of a comic (working on a draft) of underswap chara on the surface, as i really hadn't came across any of those back in 2018.
just thought it'd be fun to put my own twist on underswap, and explore chara's character in-depth like other undertale aus have done with their frisks. i already brainstormed a lot of ideas so i'm geared and ready to go with all the information for this au!
first of all -- my username on socials is sirfrogerson. my art will be watermarked with that username, as this undertale au blog is a side blog! my main is here. i won't be extremely active-- this is just for fun and i'd love to share this au i've wanted to share for years. doing 13 year old me a lil favor, haha
yes i am 18, so i ask that even if i am practically an adult, please do not be weird. since this doubles as an ask blog as well, i won't answer not age appropriate questions. bare that in mind!
☆ WHAT IS THIS AU ABOUT? ☆
as mentioned in my pinned post-- this au is about chara's struggles on the surface. going by the theory of undertale chara having been a troubled kid (link is the "Who is The True Villain of Undertale?"), i kind of wanted to keep similar ideals with underswap chara. very much still troubled, and may not even favor humans. they fell underground for a reason they don't like talking about, and in general-- never speak of their problems.
this leads to an array of problems for them, often having moments of extreme anger and frustration when nobody understands them. they confide in sans and papyrus-- only because they feel the most comfortable knowing they burden their own secrets they won't tell anyone.
but, they don't just confide in the skeleton brothers-- they also confide in temmie. probably the worst choice of finding a friend to trust, but chara feels that temmie's really the only one that'll understand and not be biased. temmie knows most of their inner workings, and sometimes takes advantage of that just to mess with their life a little bit.
no harm done-- besides, it's not like temmie's killing their friends again. temmie just has some fun causing problems-- and quickly, temmie becomes a major problem later down the line.
it doesn't just focus on their problems and other people's problems-- it's also just the daily life of chara. chara having sleepovers at sans and papyrus (as they live currently with asgore). chara intends on mending the relationship between asgore and toriel, as asriel wants to help too.
they have big plans, though they are quite overwhelmed with all of them. getting monsters human rights so they can move to the human cities, going from home school into a public school, and having a job at muffet's.
this AU, TL;DR, is just about the underswap characters' lives on the surface, and the problems they face.
☆ OTHER INFO ☆
i will most likely not include outside AUS with this AU. simply for the purpose of keeping it confided with underswap, as it's the main focal point. just one AU. but i don't mind any crossovers or if people want to use my AU-- i just ask that i get credited for my version of underswap chara (the AU nickname i came up for them is tansy).
i will draw them interacting with other AU characters, either through doodles not connected to the story or through asks if people mention them or bring them in. that i'm chill with! i really like undertale AUs anyway :)
if you want to know more information-- you can simply drop in an ask for the underswap cast and chara, or ask OOC (which would be me, frog). i don't mind answering questions about this AU! i'd love to talk about it more!

How would you describe your UT, UF, and US bois’ personalities? OwO
Ooh! This is such a fun question! These are about them after surfacing, since some of these guys definitely change with their environment. As usual, I’d like to say that these characters are a collaboration between my partner @jaxxwrites4you and I. ^^
Papyrus (UT Papyrus)
In a single word: optimistic. This isn’t to say that he’s “innocent” or “naive”- more so that he looks at things in their entirety and chooses to focus on the best of most people and situations. Papyrus has a remarkably strong moral compass; while he does actively seek to feel included, he won’t compromise those morals for anything. (Even in instances like a genocide playthrough- he knows what you’re doing, but morally, he just can’t bring himself to kill.) He’s also very intense in his love of things- his brother, his interests, etc. Not the type to give up easily, no matter what’s thrown at him! Truly working hard to earn the title of “The Great” Papyrus.
Sans (UT Sans)
Sans is laidback, but not exactly carefree. He certainly tries to be, but… He’s more observant than most, and the more you look at things the more little issues you start to see. He worries about them in the same way one might keep picking at a scab. He’s aware that resets have happened, but he doesn’t actually remember the events of any of them- which is both comforting and disturbing at the same time. He’s much better at masking than his brother. Of course, all that masking does keep him pretty exhausted most of the time. Ultimately, he just.. wants the best for the people around him. And he’s not afraid of putting work into making that a reality, even if just making jokes is a little easier.
Baroque (UF Papyrus)
Baroque is the type of man you can’t quite slip anything past. Usually, when he acts it’s on clear intentions- deliberate and thought through. His level of planning may be overkill to some, but to him it feels more like a safety-net of sorts. One that he feels he needs, even if there’s no longer any imminent threat on the horizon. The more prepared he is for what he’s facing now, the easier it will be to handle whatever he’s sure will go wrong. On the rare occasion that Baroque acts on impulse, it is in regard to his relationships- not necessarily just romantically, but platonically or familially as well. He knows that if he doesn’t act- if he hesitates, he may regret it. He’s very ambitious, too! Man knows what he wants, has a plan, and will do what he can to get it.
Grunge (UF Sans)
Grunge is his brother’s opposite, in a way. Usually, he’s laid-back and kinda impulsive. He wants to live his life to the fullest and enjoy things in the moment- the future is a future Grunge problem. The main place where this changes is his relationships. He cares a great deal more than he lets on about the people around him; in the sense that he doesn’t express it outwardly too often, not that he hides or denies it. As a result he thinks through his interactions with people and carefully plans difficult or tense conversations (for example, confessions or confrontations, etc.). Grunge feels like he’s fucked up enough and just doesn’t want to hurt anyone else. He doesn’t need lofty goals for the future, just good times with good people.
Clove (US Papyrus)
Clove is actually fairly guarded. He doesn’t need a wide net of friends to be happy, just a few close connections. To his chagrin, this sort of aloof vibe tends to draw in a lot of people who want to know him. Those few people he does allow to get close he cares a great deal about- sometimes he feels like maybe it’s too much. Clove is prone to making snap decisions and judgements- and he’s usually (annoyingly) right. Those times where he isn’t really trip him up and bite him in the metaphorical ass. He’s pretty hard on himself afterwards and feels like even if he’s been forgiven, he still needs to make it up. He struggles the most when he feels like he has no control over himself or a situation. Just wants to live a happy life with those he loves.
Ginger (US Sans)
Ginger works hard to put all the good he can into the world. To his credit, he’s fairly good at it! His cheery disposition tends to rub off on people. That being said, he knows when to dial it back and be a little more grounded. As chatty as he is he can be a good listener and when he does give advice it’s thoughtful. He worries a lot more than he lets on about the people he’s close to and when he’s particularly worried it manifests via more frequent check-ins or hangouts. Ginger is also fairly confident in himself- and has done a lot of work to get to that point. He used to overcompensate a lot. He’s also a very playful guy- more witty than you’d expect, and often very (jokingly) smug when receiving compliments or pulling one over on a friend.

I mean. Do you want the fandom to focus on random bit players and nobodies? All the real backstory action's happening in either the skeleton family or the goat family so I don't think having the most AUs centered around the main characters are unwarranted
Oh, don't get me wrong. I get the appeal of skelebros and Asriel content- and I mean, Papyrus plays a huge role in this AU on top of Flowey/Asriel and... a lot of characters.
My frustrations lie with the fact that there are so many other characters and concepts that get overshadowed. Alphys has so much potential between her skills with technology plus her interest in things like multiverse theory. Undyne is a really cool and flawed character and her determination makes her pretty darn cool- part of why I went the directions I did with her in IF.
Mettaton and the ghosts in general have all sorts of cool conflicts to dip into.
But my thing is like... especially with Asriel content, a lot of what I've seen over the years has just been too... soft, I guess? And I get it. It's wish fulfillment and wanting him to have happier outcomes in fan content, so I'm by no means shaming those sort of works, but too often I see all the interesting nuance to his character and his time as Flowey scrubbed away to make him squeaky clean, even though he'd still have the knowledge of all his loads as Flowey, the fact that he can predict everyone, etc to grapple with.
But, hell, even Papyrus is so often turned into an accessory for Sans' story in fan content or like... you have the AU Papyruses that are Papyrus In Name Only. He's one of my absolute favorites, so I'm picky.
I never said these focuses are unwarranted- I said that there are a lot of works that just don't click for me. "Sans AUs" in the context of like... your AU Sanses that might as well be OCs and stuff. They're harmless and people are just having fun, but I don't like them because they just feel too removed from the base character, if that makes sense.
My favorite AUs take familiar characters in new and interesting directions but still keep them recognizable and don't relegate the bulk of the cast to the sidelines for another Sans story, basically. But that's just me and my preferences, so please don't think this means I'm saying you can't like other things.

Fai's Fic Ramble: The GorseTale AU (bare basics)
Ever since roughly... 2017 I think, there been a single Undertale fanfic I've been tapping away at and though it's nowhere near done or even organised enough for me to think about posting chapter 1 on A03, I recently posted a spinoff fic related to it called Eight Coloured Picture about the deaths of all the fallen humans and how some monsters each time were effected by their passing, and well.
I wanna ramble about the main story that fic comes from for a bit!
So.
Working Title: 'Gorse, Blackthorn and Buttercups' I also call it GorseTale in my head for short since Gaijin Goombah's rather fun video on why Undertale's Golden Flowers are most likely Gorse was a HUGE inspiration for the fic back when I started out (it's er changed quiet a bit since then but I'm keeping the flower vibes because Chara likes them and I did way too much research into both practical and symbolic uses for plants in the Underground for this fic not to use at least some of it at some point XD).
Core premise: Story is a Slice of Life/Drama AU set around Frisk being born in the Underground and taken in by Toriel right around the time of 'Undertale canon' (for Undertale Yellow fans, roughly a year or so after Clover's death), and through a series of domino effects stemming from that, various monsters of the Underground are confronted with the flaws of both themselves and their kingdom, and as a result start putting in effort to try fixing things so the little human child they've become so attached to can actually live their life to the fullest without fear of being murdered just for being born a non monster.
Aka: Toriel and Sans experience the joys and terror of co-parenting a child who only survives past the age of 3 because they have phenomenal cosmic power. Papyrus discovers the Royal Guard is NOT in fact something he wants to join (and accidentally becomes politically active in an effort to right by his new nibbling). Undyne takes some time to really rethink her career path and motives. Alphys somehow manages to turn former mistakes into miracles (oh and cures death maybe). Mettaton learns to take time off and share the spotlight, and finally King Asgore gets a surprising amount of hope in encouraging peaceful rebellion against his own accidental dictatorship.
Main cast: Rotates a bit since every major monster (and Flowey) matters in this and who's most in focus depends on the exact arc but Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Chara and Frisk are the ones who I have the most planned scenes for since well, they're where the 'domino effect' starts.
Ships: Fic is pretty gen for the most part but leaning Undyne/Alphys, Papyrus/Mettaton (who knew all Paps needed to become popular was to openly try convincing monster kind that killing all the humans is wrong in front of a very specific underground star XD), and some very very very slowburn Sans/Toriel (is teased throughout the story because Sans IS Frisk's other parent Sans just means 'Dad' in Frisk speak and I find various Monsters' "Wait Sans has a kid- Wait Sans is married?!" reactions hilarious (Paps giving 'context' to why he suddenly has a nibbling to Undyne especially) but actual, real Soriel doesn't happen until near the very end because Toriel is Not Ok, Sans leans AroAce/Demi and both agree that while the odd kiss, hug or 'real talk' is fine neither up for anything more than that right now. Also Toriel has yet to get a formal divorce and er, she can't even think of him for much of the fic without wanting to set him on fire so... Yeah). Also considering Mad Mewmew/Asgore (because funny but also oddly sweet), and Mettaton trying to get over a crush on Alphys at the start (due to Mettaton's Winter Alarmclock dialogue reframing all of Mettaton's actions in canon in a whole newlight for me), but for the most part romance really isn't a focus.
Things to set it apart from every other 'Frisk grows up in the Underground' fanfic:
A LOT of worldbuilding focus on stuff how monsters get food and materials.
Toriel teaching everyone how Monster society was before the War vs now (aka lots of cultural trauma themes here).
More emphasis on how little Monster society these days really knows about things they really should given their Kingdom's plans.
Sans 'timeline trauma' getting tossed out the window for joining Toriel in 'worried parent' stress (hard to be upset about LOADS when they're specifically stopping a toddler you love from getting murdered).
Papyrus accidentally making everything better just because for the sake of his nibblet he can't back down.
FLOWER SYMBOLISM AND DISCUSSING THE UNDERGROUND'S VERY IMPORTANT PLANT LIFE!
Undyne having a character growth arc triggered by Papyrus.
Mettaton having a character growth arc triggered by Papyrus (and a passing mention of Napstablook).
Alphys not being fired post Amalgamite reveal making her realize she has in fact actually kinda created the cure for death (by 'Falling Down') or at the very least is only maybe three steps away from that and actually works on that alongside a bunch of other stuff with other scientists because working alone sucked.
Lots of focus on the humans who fell before Frisk because their lives mattered! and also the Blue Soul was Kris because damn if I don't feel the need to really hammer in Toriel's trauma caused by Asgore here
NarraChara and Napstablook being ghost buddies =D they suck at it but Chara will take literally anyone who can hear them for company and Napstablook feels bad about that
Snowdin being secretly a hub of human sympathisers! (None of them knew they weren't the only ones).
MONSTER RADIO and ANIME/WESTERNS ON TV!
Tems and the Riverperson mattering while still being true to their very weird selves!!!
Asgore learning that he DOES in fact have a lot of influence and that maybe, juuust maybe, that his screw ups were worse for his Kingdom than he already thought (don't worry Asgore fans, despite my having to write a lot of Asgore grr due to Toriel being a major character, saving him and showing how much he loves his people is a major goal of mine <3). He still f%cked up majorly though XD
Frisk dealing with, well, the stress of growing up in a place that says their death would make everyone (except their immediate loved ones) happy and constantly having to live in hiding/disguise...
Flowey being a murderous little shit but also not having reset power and both Frisk and Chara in his life again.
Undertale Yellow and Deltarune characters! Who probably won't be in focus a lot but they've helped me out a ton for fleshing the out my setting so I will 100% be giving them at least a little screen time to make up for that (like Amalgamate Kanako playing with Frisk, and Martlet and Noelle being VERY interesting in Papyrus's 'Lets not kill the humans' movement for reasons our main characters will eventually learn <3).
Oh and a huge amount of 'Unseen in game' areas I made for the Underground which include:
SnowDen: a 'town' of Dog and Rabbit made tunnels underneath the ENTIRE Snowdin region (connects to every dog sentry post, the 'Toby Fox secret area' and the 'very efficiently laid out' travel tunnels seen in canon Undertale). Generally requires those living there to get through given how winding and confusing the tunnels can get (all guideposts are puzzles made with scent markers...).
TooHot: basically a 'lethal lava land' housing district for fire monsters below general Hotland. Predates the Wat and is too hot for most non fire monsters to go anywhere near (the current name was given by Asgore though).
Cliffstop: a 'thin' vertical crevice monsters in New Home unearthed a while back that goes from from all the way to the very top of Mt Ebott down to the dark of the Abyss below (locals there call the top of the area Clifftop and the lowest safe for travel Cliffdrop). Gets a fair bit of sun and has flying room so it's popular with plant and flying monsters but the cliffs are very unstable so the bottom is covered in rope nets to prevent accidents. Most puzzles about the place are moving rope bridges, loading up vertical conveyer belts with the correct weights and 'light and mirror' puzzles.
Riverfolk Waterway and True Tem Village: settlements hidden deep within Waterfall's 'unreachable in canon' winding waterways. The former is a small inlet where 'Riverfolk' monsters like the Riverperson have a small collection of boathouses they dock at, and the later is exactly what is sounds like, with the 'Temmie Village' we see in canon being merely a Temmie trading outpost. Can accessed only by Riverperson boat or the Temmie's secret tunnels and is home to all sorts of cool things like the Temmie 'Colleg' and 'DEEP HISTORY mUSEEum'~ XD
WebbInn 'the Spider district': Mostly a giant communal spider web hanging Hotland's ceiling but also connected to a tunnel that goes up near Mt Ebbot's peak (the spiders have been digging upwards in hopes of getting a 'sunspot' they can use to advertise their 'sweet little town' to tourists). Has a... Very distinctive culture compared to the rest of the Underground and the 'puzzles' there tend towards being 'social' in nature (aka fey logic games where how you speak and act gets you directed every which way).
Starlite Strip: A little connecting area right underneath the path/cliff Monster Kid and Frisk see the castle while travelling through Waterfall in Undertale Canon. Not a big settlement on its own but something of a trading hub for monsters from New Home and the surrounding areas in Waterfall to buy and sell goods (also has a LOT of Royal Guard presence which is why absolutely no one in Undertale recommends it to the very human Frisk). Very sparkly but in a gentle 'crystals, glowing water and fire flies' kinda way.
And... Yeah. Wanna post a full script of what I've got planned so far but this post is already massive so will do that in a bit.
Will say though that the general ending plan for this fic arguably goes full fix fic with:
12-14 year old Frisk comes out as human publicly and goes through the entire Underground arguing their case (something the Underground has been publicly debating for the last 10 years or so thanks to a very motivated Papyrus and a wanting more ratings + genuinely interested Mettaton).
Undyne attempts to kill them but well, she's only going all out because she and Paps had a deal about this (he vowed that he'd defend any innocent human from her killing them so she could still go all out at her job) and Frisk knows that.
Mettaton gets to do THE biggest and most historically important interview in the Underground's history.
Asgore declares that the Underground will try out this whole 'everyone in the kingdom votes' thing on both the upcoming war and how they will treat humans living here because he wants to make sure he's doing what his people want (Mettaton asks what Asgore will vote but Asgore, finally realizing his own influence, refuses to say).
Asgore and Frisk spend a nice, if slightly nervously time together drinking tea and talking about the future while the votes are being counted. (Toriel and others may join them but mostly this is Asgore getting to know... the last of Toriel's adopted children she told him about the others when she asked for a divorce).
Monsters choose wisely because for all this fic is 'Monsters are flawed too!' they are good people and I want to make that clear <3
Cue Frisk publically trying to help break the barrier while being very alive...
Flowey pulling a 'God of Hyper Death' except well, he, Frisk and Chara maaay have discussed a bit of this beforehand (Flowey did want the souls and this would get him them), so er, the fight might be a touch more mixed with genuine anger and playfulness. Note: Still working out the exacts.
The human SOULs get brought back to life as monsters while Flowey gets a SOUL of his own and Chara gets enough magical matter to be visible to people other than Frisk (it required less waste of the accumulated magic, the soul of an additional human another girl falling into the Ruins was what got Frisk deciding to come out actually, the kids using a bunch of Alphys' furthered research on the interplay between Determination, matter and Dust, and breaking down the dead humans' bodies for enough 'compatible matter' to work with, and the destruction and repurposing of the Barrier but hey! Back to life! Or arguably Chara's case an upgrade to proper ghost-hood). Oh and the Amalgamates that want it are safely separated but not sure if that's a 'before no' thing or a 'here in this big finale' thing~ XD
And yeah. That's all of my 'extra happy ending just because I can' stuff the entire fic eventually builds towards. Will post all my planned scenes/'domino effect planning' some other time but for now I'm done.
If you liked any ideas in this feel free to use them please (I'm a slow ass writer and I write what I want to see more of in the world XD) and er, hope this was a fun ramble to read <3

I meant like tossed into thier world or maybe undertale already exists in thier world irl and they fell before Frisk.
:OOOOOOOOOOOOOO AH-HA I SEE
Okay so tossed into their world Rise Edition:
Leo and Donnie, as I said, FREAKING OUT AND LOVING IT! They actually don't turn many heads because they are Very Visibly Not Human but if they have April with them it for sure draws some attention. Not only is there a human but also four strange new monsters who help the human out all the time? Fascinating.
They'd have a tough time getting a True Pacifist Route done, let's be honest with ourselves here. It's the toughest challenge they've faced yet. They're all barely restraining each other, including April. Some aspects depend on who all go in besides April and The Turtles. Is Splinter there? The Caseys? Draxum? All of these would impact the progression of events in different ways (I'm sorry but if Cassandra is there they're getting a Neutral Run at best).
Leo challenges Sans to a pun-off at one point and Papyrus stands by the others as they all watch in unsurprised disappointment. The first time Papyrus offers them Spaghetti Mikey jumps to help with cooking lessons.
I'd say it an easier time for them than it was for Frisk but. Again. Real struggle to stick to a Pacifist Route.
Tossed into their world 2012 Edition:
A little easier, a little easier, Mikey is pretty good at reminding everyone to chill out. We'd have to set it around the late season 3 to season 4 era I think, for Undertale to have come out and they played it. Of course it was Mikey who did, I think he got his brothers to play some but he only showed them certain parts he thought they'd like most. So they're all kinda having a rough time and more trouble keeping emotions in check around this time, probably, except for Raph who's actually gotten better at that.
But yeah Mikey is leading here, April is second-in-command and tbh her main focus is keeping Donnie and Casey in check because BOY. Casey, we know why he's a problem, but DONNIE. Let's just say he's not taking too well to people constantly using the word "monster" to refer to him and he is high-strung right now. Every time another character questions "what a bunch of monsters like you are doing with two humans" he almost snaps.
Again, difficulty in getting a Pacifist Route. They don't even know if infighting will count towards Neutral Route, so they have to restrain from a lot of irritated shoulder punches and head slaps just in case and it's driving all of them nuts!
Leo wants to protect Papyrus so bad he reminds him of himself before All The Bullshit and Sans really appreciates Leo's looking out for his little brother. They bond over Big Brother Feelings and Being Blue.

Decadent Society MODERN
Tumblr media
So uh, this one i'll have to rewrite, as despite still having the original info stored in my computer, i feel like it would be a lot better if i tried to re-explain some points about the characters (specially since a lot of info that i have saved is in fact outdated, lol)
So, what was the concept of this "modern" version of Decadent Society? I'm not... sure? Like, at first when i was making this new version, i was actually doing it so i could give the AU a fresh coat of paint, i wasn't going to change the main storyline or anything, i just wanted to make the characters look less like a swapfell ripoff, but after a while i guess i gave the AU the concept that, after the monsters got locked up on the underground, Asgore began to start forcing everyone to get prepared for a possible second war he wanted to have with the humans, so a lot of places and monsters were now dedicated to training and getting themselves prepared for when a second war broke out I did not remember this being kinda similar to negativetale, but oh well
So yeah, the AU was meant now to give more focus on the whole war thing Asgore wanted to do, giving some emphasis on him being actually serious this time and shit. I never developed the concept of the AU too much, mostly because i think i was trying to change it for the sake of being different? I wasn't doing it because i had a good idea in mind that sounded better than the old version, i was doing it because i strongly believed i HAD to
So, uh onto all the characters i have developed
Frisk: no info about them that i can remember, so i guess we can say they are pretty much the same
Flowey: So apparently he's somewhat more similar to the original flowey, but due to being so oppressed by the world around him, he eventually grew way too afraid to keep on going on trying to be threatening, as he now only attacks others when he's afraid of them, and constantly tries to hide himself out.
Napstablook: His concept was that instead of being depressed, he's so lonely that he became somewhat insane, or at least a little bit crazy. Simple as that
Toriel: I don't remember her fully, but i believe the idea for her is that she became much more about surviving rather than keeping on going with the motherly personality that she has, sure she will help Frisk, but they will never be her main priority.
Sans: He's depressed and lonely, and has a small mania of trying to call Papyrus several times a day, mostly because of not being able to see him in person anymore after Paps was drafted. None of his calls get answered.
Papyrus: He got drafted, and now undergoes through heavy training in order to be a perfect soldier for when the second war eventually breaks out. He's a lot more quiet and serious than his original undertale counterpart, and always takes his duty over his morals, despite knowing that some of the stuff he's forced to do is wrong.
Undyne: Leader of the army, nothing much to say about her except that she's fierce, remorseless and definitely doesn't question any single one of Asgore's orders, them being shady or not.
Alphys: I guess her concept was that she's a tired scientist forced to produce weapons for Asgore's army, tho her old design indicates that she also had a knack for engineering robots and cyborg like appendages.
Mettaton: I genuinely don't remember what he was about, but i guess he was more focused on the whole television thing? I do remember his old box design had a concept where he only speaks via the programs that he was managed to show on his screen, so he basically had to talk via sentence mixing lol
Asgore: Big bad guy, desperately wants to start a war with humans again, mostly out of spite than anything else.
Asriel and Chara: idk what their concepts were about, i think Asriel was like, a neglected kid because Asgore is an asshole and Toriel was too busy, and Chara was like, his kinda weird friend. Idk how they were supposed to die or something
Muffet: Oh wow, i actually made more characters aside from the main cast. So, the concept for Muffet is that she's a famous movie star and was a main adversary for Mettaton's business. Yeah that was it, the concept was cool but i never got too deep on it lol
Burgerpants: He's a drug dealer, he had to start selling shady shit because he got laid off from his job at Mettaton's hotel for being too incompetent.
Nice Cream Guy: weird emo guy, very anxious and scared about stuff. Apparently there was a concept about him having an abusing girlfriend? Which explained why he had to wear a collar, they were kinky, but the woman was kinda of a bitch to her or something. Idk lmao
Temmie: Also some kind of dealer, tho instead of Burgerpants that just sold straight up drugs, Temmie just sells knockoff stuff, while also giving out temmie flakes.
Monster kid: I remember he was kinda cute, he was actually gonna be a companion for Frisk during the majority of the story, not only through waterfall. He was like, a heavily bullied kid that loved doing art, which was funny since he don't got arms, so he actually learned to draw using his mouth.
And i think that was it? I don't actually have much information i remember about, since i erased a lot of the stuff i've made for the au because i wanted the modern version "forgotten" or something, idk lmao But there you go, this is why you see a lot of people for whatever reason drawing decadent society sans with a blue eye or with a hoodie with camo patterns, it's because of this cancelled version of the AU best way to take this info i provided is to look back at that shitty drawing i made with the main cast + some side characters

What would the reaction of the main skelebros be to being unusually quiet?
Undertale Sans - He waits a few hours to see if you want to talk, and if he sees nothing has change, he silently sits next to you and reminds you he's here if you want to talk. He's not worried, but he knows how it is.
Undertale Papyrus - He doubles his efforts to make you laugh, clowning around and punning wildly. The second he manages to make you smile, he's by your side asking what's wrong.
Underswap Sans - He lets his S/O alone. If they want to talk to him, they will. He doesn't want to add more pressure so he lets them be. It's less stressful for him as well.
Underswap Papyrus - He's very anxious about this, wondering if he did something wrong and getting angry at himself for upsetting you, to the point he's close to having a panic attack. Communication is key with Honey, and he doesn't understand what's wrong, but he's too scared you will be mad if he asks so he keeps turning everything in his head until you ask him if he's alright. He's quite in shock you're actually not mad at him.
Underfell Sans - He's out of here lol. He's too used to Edge's explosive fit of rage after long silence, he doesn't want to be there when it happens, even though it's stupid because you're obviously not Edge. He's just a bit traumatized about all of this. He walks somewhere random and hopes everything will magically be fine once he's going home a few hours later.
Underfell Papyrus - He's pretty straightforward and asks what's wrong. But since he's unsure how to ask without hurting your feelings, it can sound a bit passive-aggressive. When you burst into tears, he's completely panicking lol, not knowing what to do with his hands, as he's trying to shut you up. He's sorry he wasn't born with the "how to express worrisome like a normal person" package.
Horrortale Sans - He doesn't care why you're sad, he takes you on the couch and locks you in his hoodie, trying to soothe you with his purring and nuzzling your neck. That's ok, he's here if you want to talk. And if you don't, it's really fine with him as well. He's just diverting your attention so you focus on him instead of what's troubling you.
Horrortale Papyrus - He's terribly anxious about this. He doesn't understand what's wrong, and the way you're just sitting there silently is bringing bad memories of the day Undyne told him Sans was dead. Which was... not true. And pretty much the day he lost his best friend for good since that was a few hours already Papyrus found Sans and brought it to Toriel for emergency care. So yeah, please tell him what's wrong, because he's starting to think you're leaving him or something and he swears he is going to freak out in a few minutes.
Swapfell Sans - He watches you from the corner of his eye socket, but he doesn't force your hand. He waits the entire day for you to come, and he will ask eventually in the evening if you're ok. He has a feeling you might be sick, but he can't really force you to see a doctor, so, uh, be careful?
Swapfell Papyrus - He's talking for two, not minding your silence. He tries to distract you with some Karen stories he found online, and he can see it's slowly working. Rus is a great actor, it's really hard to keep a poker face when he's telling extravagant stories.
Fellswap Gold Sans - ..... He's standing in a corner of the room. He's staaaaaaring. He swears something is wrong with you. But he's not sure what and he doesn't want to mess up. And since he can't make up his mind... He's just standing there. Watching. It's getting stressful after half an hour, as you're wondering what's his problem.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - He gets more clingy than usual, working hard to have attention. If you're still ignoring him, he's picking you up and carrying you to his room for a cuddle session. You don't have the choice. He's the boss today. No sad people in his house.

hollers!!!!! The Gaster blaster animation didn't load for me till I checked the post again AND I NOTICED THE EYE!! IN THE CUBE PIC ANDAA!!!! Gosh I am very excited for what you've got planned. Who are you thinking your main ensemble focus will be?
OOOOOHH YOU NOTICED IT !!! Nice 😎
and I’m not sure what u mean by the second question, so I hope I’m answering this correctly: Everyone will be here, but mostly we’ll be following papyrus, frisk, flowey, sans, and alphys (I think, lol) weathering the revelations that come with slowly unearthing well-kept secrets.

General Information
SwapPlates is a swapped AU based off of @zarla-s Undertale AU, Handplates. In no way is it associated with Zarla or any of their official Handplates content.
Secondly, I cannot emphasize this enough: If you have not finished Handplates, go check it out first! All credit for Handplates goes to Zarla, and you will have no idea what is going on here if you haven't read the comics. I'll link the website for Handplates at the bottom for ya'll- show Zarla some love! (not LOVE, haha)
While there will be similarities to Handplates, notably similar scenes regarding 1-S/Sans and 2-P/Papyrus, SwapPlates will focus primarily on its two doctors, River and Nexus, as they are the main characters. More information on the characters will be posted in time.
Finally, this is a HEAVY work in progress. The most we have at the moment are various assortments of rough sketches, eight scripts, a couple non-canonical shorts (also in script form), and a rough timeline of events. We're also still in the process of figuring out how to create the comics, either ourselves or with an artist (that we don't have at the moment.) Funnily enough, we've got everything else (even voice actors)!
Alright I'll wrap up now. Until we're able to post the actual comics, we will just post random, goofy, non-spoiler drawings, as well as the character info. I will also be posting the locations, as edited from Undertale's locations. Stay determined!

mtt may 31:AU
@mettatonmay
((Final day BABYYYYYYYY, I’ve been excited for the last prompt the entire month cause I get to talk a bit about this blog actually! After all this blog is an AU ask blog! It’s an aborted genocide run turned pacifist post-game on the surface! With the main focus on the kiddos (Frisk, narrator!chara, flowey, six human souls turned monsters, and the undertale counterparts to the deltarune kiddos) well the adults (toriel, Asgore, sans, papyrus. Undyne, alphys, mtt, napstblook, muffet and a few other adults are more secondary characters, so unfortunately not to much MTT for my mettaton fans but still I hope y’all stick around and ask questions for this blog!~J.D))

Personal opinion about sans?
A very, very depressed skeleton. I think a lot of folks read him wrong- as some kind of judgy, vengeful guy, when in reality he's pretty much perfectly okay with you murdering 99% of the underground- just as long as you don't erase the world. The context of sans being aware of the resets, if not remembering them explains the apathy quite well. Heck, he even (presumably jokes) says the annoying dog ending, where toriel, undyne, mettaton, papyrus, and asgore are all dead (but no one else) is probably "the best ending we could've hoped for." Despite, y'know, his brother being dead.
This apathy and his care towards his brother makes sans relatable for a lot of people I think. Lots of folks can relate to plastering on a smile and dragging yourself through the motions of every day, knowing full well you just have to do it again tomorrow, and that you probably can't do anything to change that.
And, because the skelebros are so neat and awesome together, it only makes sense folks would focus on them and their relationship as primary material for making AU's. Most other characters in Undertale are fabulous on their own, but their main interesting relationships are with one or both of the skelebros. Undyne and Alphys are cute, Asgore and Toriel are divorced, but there isn't much to play with in terms of those relationships. Papyrus also has the second most lines in the entire game. Really, I think the reason so many outcodes are sanses is primarily luck- maybe also because sans is a bit more regular-human shaped. If you want to see a comic with other characters as outcodes though, check out ALIVE!
Despite all the blatant ooc-ness and sans-centric-ness, I really do enjoy the undertale multiverse. I think it's fun to compare and contrast pairs of skeletons, and many of the outcode sanses really don't read as sans at all, becoming their own characters.
I'm still a Papyrus stan though. The coolest skeleton- Papyrus comes off autistic to me, which I appreciate as an autistic person. Super pumped for his appearance in deltarune.

FUSETALE -
TK _ - Not sans
HOKU_ - Not sans
CLORU_ - Not sans * There is a Sans and Papyrus in my au but let's say, they are not the main focus of this story, since well, you know, the skeleton population is still here*
Their blasters are their little helpers, they can't be used for attacks... Unless...
Say hello to TK, Hoku and Cloru. There will be a lot of adventures with them, sooooo stay tuned!
