#I've never had doritos myself so I have no point of reference #I think they sell them here nowadays but it's a fairly new thing and I don't eat a lot of chips #they had spices in the past but they were extremely expensive #I think most of them had to be imported from South/Southeast Asia #India in particular #few could afford such luxury goods but if you could serve people spicy food it was a mark of wealth #so historically a lot of upper class dishes were extra flavorful #potentially to an overpowering degree maybe #it was a status thing #a dorito wouldn't kill him but I've mentioned he secretly tends to favor somewhat bland and unthreatening foods #that won't set off his sensory issues #he'll eat the various nutmeg cinnamon clove saffron ginger creations people serve to him because declining would be a massive faux pas #but it's not an enjoyable experience #answered #anonymous #give him some light broth and a little bit underseasoned chicken to eat with his watered down wine

So basically she’s a fashion designer who works/apprentices under Sour Belt. Generally she’s a nice and chill lady that’s not as interested in being in the spotlight, she just likes making outfits for those people

Saffron’s named after saffron, which I was suggested but I think it’s because it’s a spice like cinnamon and, I don’t know, the flower’s purple? I’m not entirely sure what the correlation between saffron and glitter is, sorry

So I recognize that again, this design is far simpler than the parents, but here I think it’s fine because the parents are stage performers while she works in the background

So fun fact: when I started coming up with a design, my brain had been struck with the idea to make the kid part of a boy band (probably because I was listening to songs from Trolls 3 at the time), but when I was trying to come up with hair, I ended up with what you see in the rough sketch, and I was like “that’s not a guy in a boy band, that’s a lady” and I liked the hair, so I went with that and she became what she is. The original name was also Cinnamon Sprinkle, but I went to Saffron when I changed the idea. Maybe Cinnamon Sprinkle could be brought back as Saffron’s brother (probably younger), or Saffron was Cinnamon Sprinkle and she’s trans, I don’t know

I made her design mostly reds and purples since while saffron itself is red, the flower is a very striking purple, so I wanted to include that too, as well as some yellow for accents

Also the pink dots on the shirt isn’t a pattern, it’s kind of supposed to show that it’s glittery, I might not have conveyed that well

Overall I quite like her, and hopefully you do too

Sometimes I feel like I shouldn’t love one of my favorite plushies since she’s for babies and I never see anyone else with plushies that are technically for babies but I love her embroidery eyes and soft fur, plus her different texture and tags, I just feel like it’s not okay to love her sometimes ;-;

You're free to love whatever toys or plushies that appeal to you, nobody's going to stop you or question you, whether it's a baby toy or the world's most cursed furby.

Thinkin about how saffron Evan’s lovelessness will manifest through his life beyond his teenage years.

I think saffron Evan does eventually get to a point where he genuinely feels like he loves (and is comfortable saying he loves) Mike, but I very much do NOT want Evan getting to this point to be framed as something that needs to happen, or it happening as a sign that Evan has "healed."

And Evan coming to love Mike again doesn't mean that Evan suddenly isn't loveless anymore. Someone being loveless doesn't necessarily mean they never love anyone or anything or that the someone will always be uncomfortable with love for as long as they live. Rather, being loveless is an understanding that loving is not the default way to be human and that it's okay to not love. Sometimes not loving anyone and/or being uncomfortable with love comes with the territory of being loveless, and sometimes it doesn't.

What he goes through gives Evan the understanding that not loving someone is okay, because Evan goes through a long period where he can't wholly love Mike again after what happened. And while Evan does eventually come to love Mike again, Evan’s understanding that it (loving anyone, including Mike) wasn't and will never be something that is required of Evan for him to be human/whole/not broken/etc is something that will always stick with him.

The thing that I've been really struggling with is how Evan's lovelessness intersects with Evan eventually adopting Gregory and Cassie. Evan is ofc still loveless by the time he adopts Greg and Cass, but Ev is also not uncomfortable with the idea of love anymore, and I can see him saying "I love you" to his kids.

But it's also difficult for me to reconcile the idea that no one (Evan included) is required to love with the idea that parents are meant to love their kids, and that every kid deserves to feel loved. At a first glance, I didn't know whether someone who is uncomfortable with describing the way they care about others as "love" going on to adopt kids was... a good idea.

Those uncomfortable with identifying with the word love can still care and want to protect and be there for their kids. That's what a parent should be. So it feels silly to say that someone shouldn't adopt (or have) kids because of something they can't control: discomfort with the word, and concept of, love. Even if you raise the argument that kids, especially younger kids, may not be able to understand why their parents will say "i care about you" instead of "i love you" and may feel hurt and unloved as a result, this can be avoided by just. Being open and genuine and straight forward with your kids from the get-go. Being open and communicating well is something that's expected from parents anyway, whether they have discomfort with the concept of love or not.

So... I guess the take away from that is obviously it's okay for people with a disconnect from the concept love to be around kids; I just have some internal biases that I need to work through.

because halley has little to no experience with relationships, she's not very quick when it comes to giving her heart away. she's an extremely guarded individual and hates talking about her feelings, so it takes fight business years and a miracle to win her over. however, saffron has been doing a pretty good job of it lately, and she'll happily give her heart to them when the time is right.

Personal hedonism was their generational call, too jaded now for idyll. And his life was filled with small joys that evaporated into the atmosphere like a monsoon. His dreams relied on other people. Perhaps there was something to be taken from that. Change your desires, change the result.

There was a world of possibilities out there- he hoped, that experience would give him the opportunity to choose among narrowed options. Until then, what was there to do? Chase the dream? To what end? Was there no accountability?

You have NO IDEA how long I've wanted to talk about ffifau but just didn't get around to it. I'm gonna put it all under readmore because it got kinda long

Okay! So basically what ffifau is supposed to be is a au where instead of murdering children William just goes to therapy, the tone of the au is supposed to be kind of like a sitcom-saturday-morning-cartoon-slice-of-life-esque kind of thing! Very light-hearted!

The basic timeline I have for the au right now is William moves from Australia to Britain for college → he gets two part time jobs one as a car mechanic and another one as a waiter in a cafe → he meets Henry when he (Henry) goes to the cafe and screws up his order really badly cause he (Henry) got nervous (he was having really a bad day) and then they find out that they were both assigned the same dorm room → they move out of the dorms and get an apartment together → William meets Rosemary (future Mrs. Afton) when she got ditched by her friends in a grocery store parking lot cause she rolled a bad blunt and William falls head over heels for her → they start dating → they all move to Utah together → the afton kids are born and William and Rosemary's relationship is a little strained because they can't really agree on anything (their both really stubborn) → William gets springlocked while Rosemary's visiting family in Britain (it was a funeral) so the afton kids stay with Henry for a while → William and Rosemary agree for the sake of their relationship they should live separately (they have shared custody of the kids) so now their basically divorced on everything but paper because they've been procrastinating that like their basically just friends who are also married now their not romantically involved → few years pass and now we're in present day

The crying child's name is Evan Caleb Ceceil Afton but his family just calls him Ceece/Ceecey. When the nurse asked Rosemary what Evans name would be Rosemary misspelt 'Ceceil' so it's like that forever now. Evan is a very quiet child that likes his alone time very much, he's like Henry in this way. He doesn't cause trouble but he ain't a snitch either. He always looks like he knows more than he lets on. He spends most of his time writing and playing.

Rosemary's full name is Rosemary Saffron Echo Schmidt, she picked it out herself because she wanted to piss her family off/wanted to feel less connected to them (her parents are really controlling and her brothers are jerks). The reason it's so long is because she couldn't pick just one name.

Rosemary married William because she realized that if she did she could get away from her family for good and it would promise a better life for her, also her dad never liked William so it was kind of like pointing a giant final middle finger at him. She did genuinely have feelings for him btw.

William and Rosemary alternate weeks with the kids

Everyone in the Afton and Emily family is homo btw it's like a giant fruit basket

Because of the springlock accident William has no right arm or leg they've been replaced by prosthetics that Henry made for him. Also he uses a cane. And he grows out his hair. And he lives with Henry now (it makes him feel better knowing there's someone else in the house in case anything goes wrong). He is an orphan that was raised by his grandparents, they wanted him to get a business degree and make a load of money, he wanted to study music. He ended up minoring in music theory out of spite. His grandparents don't hate him but his mom died in childbirth so their relationship is a little.... ehh. He has a younger half brother named Christopher.

Charley is adopted cause Henry gets no bitches lol. Also Sammy doesn't exist because I never read the books and I literally don't know anything about him. Charley ate him in the womb I guess and now their name is Charley Samuel Emily. Charley had their name changed after they came out as non binary, and the reason it's spelt like that is because the plant from ace attorney is named Charley and I liked that spelling of the name, that's also why I've decided that they will become an attorney when they grow up.

Mike doesn't bully his brother in this au because he actually got some sort of parental love and attention so hes like. not mean to people who don't deserve it. He thinks that he's the most normal person in the family but he's not. He loves drawing and will go to the backyard and draw animals all day, so uhh he's not the best at drawing people. Also he's pansexual and polyamorous. Swag.

Lizzie! Lizzie wants to be just like her dad, so she copies him a little, she has her own Lemonade business and she runs it like a military sargent. She engages in William's hobbies because if her dad does it that means its cool! They share a love of clowns and they both have the same mole under their right eye.

Mangle is Foxy's right hand fox and Funtime Foxy's younger sibling. His name in this au is "The Mangler" cause pirate names. She also goes by he/she/they and is a lesbian!

Captain Foxy Goldtooth is like. a grumpy yet affectionate uncle to the other three. he's hesitant to admit that he actually cares about the others. He's not like this with The Mangler though The Mangler is his bff. and also his husband's sibling. He uses his whole pirate shtick to help kids with disabilities feel less insecure about their disabilities.

Freddy is the leader of the group, he promotes love and acceptance, he's like the mom friend but a dad. The dad friend. He teaches kids to be kind and compassionate.

Bonnie's just chilling. Like he's just hanging out completely unbothered.

Chica's whole thing is that she promotes healthy eating habits and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and healthy relationships.

Roxanne is all about knowing your own worth, not letting people walk all over you and standing up for others (hence the whole wolf thing) she's trans btw

Monty... I'll be honest I kind of forgot about Monty. Their the drummer of the band (did I mention that their all in a band? Well I did now)

The puppet/marionette, their whole thing is that they don't have a lot of friends because people thought that they were scary, but the fazcrew was nice to them! So now they hang out :). They give prizes to kids at the prize counter, and they teach kids that just because someone is a little different doesn't mean that their mean.

Who else.... Cassidy and Evan are friends. Cassidy respects that Evan is a man of few words and thinks that Evan is more "mature" and "on her level" because of it. Their hangouts consist of mostly just sitting next to eachother not saying anything. Cassidy has two older siblings that are twins, Jonah and Emery. Their both a lot more extroverted than Cassidy, think the blight siblings dynamic from the owl house. Cassidy gets mostly B's and A's (except for in p.e., she usually gets a C or a D in p.e., she's not fond of exercise)

Susie is just a nickname, her full name is Suzanne. She's a little sheltered and oblivious but she has a heart of gold and is nice to everyone. She has a pet dog whose breed is either a goldendoodle or a cairn terrier. She named him Sparkles.

Fritz loves to pretend that he's Pirate Captain Foxy Goldtooth, and his 2 year old sister Milly is his right hand fox The Mangler. He loves his family and is a pretty happy kid all things considered.
