dabi who insists that what you have is casual, and that’s all it ever will be. but here he is, cuddled up to you with his head laying against your soft chest, his heart slowly syncing to yours. a movie is playing on your laptop at the end of the bed, but he isn’t paying attention. instead he basks in the feeling of you softly running your hand through his hair, of listening to the soothing music vibrating out of your chest and into his ear.

sometimes he wishes he could become a part of you. that he could curl up small, and be tucked safe beside your heart. that way he could constantly be soothed by the gentle beating of your love for him, and he won’t have to think about anything else.

just as he’s drifting off, he feels the gentleness of you tugging at a staple on his cheek, barely there. he still lazily nips at you fingers in retaliation.

“you’re missing the best part.”

he hums in response to your murmur, the vibrations of your words a tickle against his face. dabi rubs his head against your chest, and settles in more securely in your arms. he grips your waist, feels the softest parts of you with burned hands. you huff softly, but tighten the hold you have on him all the same.

here he isn’t dabi. he hasn’t died and come back to life a monster. he hasn’t forsaken everything he thought he once loved. he doesn’t want to burn the world down, because that would mean you burning with it.

here, he’s just touya.

Depressive rant, don't mind me.

It really is hard to realize you're not happy, that in fact, you may have depression.

I'm going through a really hard and dark time and it's just so sad to realize that I'm just not a happy person and idk if I will ever be.

A few days ago I saw a tweet of someone saying that it doesn't matter how much therapy you take, if half of your problems are economic problems, no amount of therapy will help with your mental health and it's very true.

I struggle a lot with money. And I'm always on edge bc I worry mostly about food. That is half of it, the other half is me feeling like my family just keeps me around bc I'm needed sometimes and bc they don't have other option really.

I still wonder what it feels like to be someone's first option, to be shown love on a random Tuesday, to not feel like the most replaceable person alive 🤕

I love how different sharks can look from each other. I just keep comparing great whites with these guys and laughing at how crazy evolution is.

They’re so very cute but definitely more bony, though I’m not entirely sure if they have bones… (All websites I checked for information mentioned their spines, some saying their spines are used to make jewelry, but I can’t tell if they mean spine like a spike or spine like the bone) The high chunk rating is going off the interpretation that, like other sharks, they have cartilage instead of bone. Seem to have a small mucous layer, low gunk. Very cute smiles and unique appearance, high funk.

—Also, they lay spiral shaped eggs!

Overall: 9/10

i have spilled so much ink about gawyn but really i only need 2 passages to explain why he is Like That

1. My blood shed before hers; my life given before hers...That was the oath he had taken when barely tall enough to peer into Elayne's cradle. ... Gareth Bryne had had to explain to him what it meant, but even then he had known he had to keep that oath if he failed at everything else in his life. (LOC prologue)

2. From Morgase, Queen of Andor, to her beloved son, Gawyn. May he be a living sword for his sister and Andor. (ACOS prologue)

like yeah, no wonder he does what he does in AMOL. people will be like "gawyn is so stupid for not thinking about the fact that his death would hurt egwene" as if he's being maliciously stupid and careless, when in fact, he has such little self-worth that he genuinely does not consider himself a valuable human being whose loss would impact anyone or anything. his life given before hers. a living sword. this has been his mindset since toddlerhood and nobody ever noticed it enough to try and counteract it. gawyn is exactly what rand would have been like at the last battle if he hadn't had a mental health intervention.
